Why, thank you!!! I'm absolutely delighted that you enjoy this as much as I do! I actually thought of you when I was "listening" to Lucian tell me about himself lol. I've always had a penchant for snarky snobbery as well, as you know. ;)

SO! This is what Lucian has "told me" about himself so far.

Lucian d'Alarie was born on May 10 in the year 1700 in the city of  Marseille. His parents were extremely wealthy "old money" aristocrats that relocated to Paris when he was about 17. Lucian's father was murdered under "suspicious circumstances" after his mother took up with an even wealthier man and left the family. At 19, Lucian became the sole heir to his father's fortune and business (he hasn't told me what this "business" is yet). It wasn't really what he wanted to, but rather, what was "expected." Lucian had great skill in the art of music, playing piano, violin, and singing in rather lovely bass-baritone. He even dabbled in composition and has, over time, composed several pieces. Bach and Monteverdi (and later, Mozart) were some of his favorites. In the year 1731, he fell ill with some manner of influenza, which would have been fatal, had he not been "rescued" by one of the undead. The one who made him told Lucian that he was "too beautiful to suffer such a horrid death" and gave him the choice to become immortal or to perish. Of course, he chose the path of darkness and power. Why wouldn't he? His surname literally means "all powerful" lol. Despite his inherent aristocratic snobbery, Lucian is a quite the romantic, writing poetry, curating roses, composing songs for those he loves, etc. He's extremely proper, a big believer in etiquette and formal speech, and prefers rich blood when he feeds. Fucking snob.

As far as appearance goes, he's about 189 cm tall with pale skin (duh), wavy, dark golden blond hair that's just a bit longer than shoulder length, light green eyes, and a rather "classically" chiseled physique and jawline. He prefers waistcoats and high collared shirts to modern clothing and usually wears his hair pulled back.

But what you really want to know is this:

When he was alive, he had terrible "hay fever." Lilies and gardenias are particular horrors along with certain trees. While these things no longer bother him in the same way as they did when he was mortal, he is EXTRA sensitive to scents and is legit allergic to garlic. What a fucking cliche. He is able to walk in the sunlight for short periods of time. It will not burn him to ash or destroy him, but it does drain him. After about a few hours, he needs to find some serious shade or suffer the consequences. Said consequences are human-like cold symptoms. He calls it "being sun sick." It's somewhat of a recent discovery for him, considering daylight was too much for him before. It basically blinded him. He spent decades gradually exposing himself to it until he could walk among the living as mortals do without being in absolute agony due to the burning of his eyes. He does still have to wear sunglasses, which is amusing to me.

He has the capacity to eat and enjoy human food, but it doesn't do anything to actually satiate him. Only blood can do that. He does require complete darkness in order to rest and rejuvenate, but he doesn't sleep in a coffin (because why would he ever lol). He sleeps in a canopy bed with "black out" curtains around it in a room with more of the same hiding the windows.

While he is technically immortal, I suppose one could "kill" him by burning him to ash, dismembering him, or something similar. Too much sunlight over a long period of time might do it, too. I'm not sure. He hasn't told me all of his "secrets" yet.

Favourite colour: Oh I am a sucker for purples and greens. But it changes with the wind. You really can't lose with a good deep forest green and a gentle lavender though.

Last book: Storygraph says it was Goldenhand by Garth Nix. I also recently reread Eight Little Talons by Courtney Woods because who I am as a person is desperately bisexual for Teia and Viago. I'm also currently reading Dragon Age: Last Flight by Liane Merciel and Cathedrals of Science by Patrick Coffey (don't look at me I have ADHD).

Last movie: Robocop was on last night while I was playing through a visual novel, does that count? I don't actually like it but my husband has never seen it, which is rare for him, so he put it on to watch. Before that it was a Polish movie starring Jim Carey called ... Dark Crimes? Also didn't much care for that one. Acting was good, but it reveled way too much in violence against women.

Last TV show: That I was actually watching? American Dad, I think? I put on Futurama to fall asleep to.

Sweet/spicy/savoury: Savory is something I say even though I have an unstoppable sweet tooth. But in my heart, I know I prefer savory things I just have sweet tooth brain chemistry.

Relationship status: I have been married for 14 and a half years and it still rules!

Last thing I googled: The author for the Eight Little Talons short story lol. Before that, my phone tells me that the last thing I googled on it was "black bear height at shoulders". It was for a drawing of one of my Warden characters, if you must know.

Current obsession: I'm in Dragon Age hell. I like it here though, so that's okay. (All of my favorite little guys are in here and I'm definitely not obsessing about some silly man from this series again (<- lying))

Looking forward to: New drawing tablet is supposed to get here on Tuesday and maybe, just maybe, it will somehow magically make me good at art? (I know it won't, but I'm looking forward to having one with a screen on it.)

a melodic bell chimes as the door of serval’s workshop bursts open. “emergency! emergency!”  you look up from the counter, pausing your tidying of the toolbox. a blonde child is waving her arms at you enthusiastically. “what’s up, hook?”  “christmas! christmas!” perched on a stool, serval stops strumming her guitar, curious. “christmas? what’s wrong with christmas?” hook points an accusing finger at you. “it’s almost christmas but you’re~ still~ single~!” your mouth gapes open.

hook as your matchmaker ftw. basically it's going on wintry dates w/ belobog guys, so expect more shennanigans! all stc tho! given the timeframe i have, i think it'll be a shorter piece probably.

after this, i have ideas on what i wanna try next. these are for genshin since my childe fic is lonely huhu (个_个)

1. fantasy rpg au! :a guild of wonderful, and wacky, whimisical warriors (stc)

characters will have different rpg roles! e.g. warrior, mage, bard etc. and the reader recruits random characters. imagine healer qiqi who keeps forgetting who her allies are so she heals her enemies, or mage neuvillette and his apprentice furina and its giving mob psycho where furina is reigan and neuvillette is mob

2. private investigators au! :teyvat sleuth operatives (stc)

this is a rotting draft so i thought why not pick it up again. i have some stuff for alhaitham and wriothesley so here's some of what i wrote cuz tis' the season for joy☆⌒(ゝ。∂):

alhaitham - i was thinking estranged childhood friends. so. angst and arguing maybe. idk why alhaitham fits the childhood friend trope so good.

you turn towards the window overlooking the dark cityscape. endless cars swim along the slippery roads, dreaming of a warmer destination. shoals of blinking lights ferry up the current of the black night sea. the mechanical clicking of keyboards clogs your ears. the office is fairly empty, except for you and one other occupant. worse, it's the one person you never want to be alone with.  and, as luck would have it, it just so happens that that very same person is here.

wriothesley - why is wriothesley british coded anyways im thinking friendly coworker with lots of action pewpewpewp! spoilers: he rides a motorbike bc i say so

wriothesley crosses his arms, raising an eyebrow. “it's a guy i’ve been tailing recently. turns out, he frequents this area.” “i see. what does he look like?” “if i recall: male, estimated to be in his 30’s, balding, green eyes, last seen in a grey hoodie, about 168cm.” you gaze at the desolate street behind wriothesley, concentrating. male, balding, green eyes, grey hoodie… about 168cm, and...? “uuh, wasnt that just him?” you point at the man slugging behind wriothesley, lazily jogging by the two of you. the bald crater makes his head look like a nest. wriothesley follows your gesture of direction and his mouth droops open. his eyes chase the suspect, leaning over, but forgets to move his body. wriothesley almost falls off his stool. no way.

the other characters i have are: childe as your rival(he works at a rival agency), and ayato(?) as your boss. totally not an excuse to imagine uniforms, harnesses, and rolled up sleeves hahacbhwfcuqwdjuia this is all stc ofc! maybe i'll sketch some art too reeehhehehe

3. or. i could just write more smut lol (will only be posted on my ao3) here are some short prompts from my ideas list:

Whats your favorite thing to draw? Not like a whole character, i mean really specific like a shape, body part, object, detail, etc

yes YESS I love this question, thank you! I think I go through periods where I hyper-obsess over a very certain detail and want to perfect it before I move on to the next thing. My work is Extremely detail oriented, which is sometimes a struggle bc I have to figure out how I want to draw EVERYTHING. Am I drawing a certain type of fabric? Well, time to focus on that Specific Texture I want to achieve!

With that said, I think I will certainly always love drawing hair and fur. I've always gotten lost in the details of fur and how dramatic and texture I can make it. That love and appreciation actually blossomed into my own creature, the "Jo"

these fellas started out as a random doodle playing with how I wanted to draw dark-colored fur and texture it!! Also, I was deeply inspired by Petscop at the time, and wanted to make a spooky tomogatchi-sim game i then subsequently forgot the existence of a few days later lol..

This of course also extends to my LOVE of drawing hair!! I always get excited when I get to finally block out the hair shape of a character, and them dive in to those juicy little details. I really want to work on trying different textures of hair in the new year, especially with my sweet goose lady Lucille and her green locs!

Now, as of recently, thanks to my freaky alien octopus lady, I've been obsessed with drawing huge, writhing masses of tenticles. With my new cepholpod aliens, I want to master the tenticle 🐙 I think I've gotten a good handle on them within the past few months as well:

So basically this is a very long, rambling way of saying I LOVE details haha I think my art definitely speaks that for itself.

📿 - What are three things you're grateful to your deity(ies) for?

For Apollo(n): for teaching me how to listen to music. Art in general feels so much more alive and sacred since I became his devotee.

For Hekate: for teaching me how to not be afraid of the dark lol. This is a silly one but as a child I was terrified. Seeing how beautiful darkness and night actually are is something I will always be grateful to Hekate for.

For Artemis: for teaching me how to interact with nature in a meaningful way. Nature has so many of the answers to our questions, and worshiping her has taught me how to hear nature's voice much better.

❤️ - What's one memory of your practice that you reflect the most fondly on?

I have many, but recently I went on a brutal road trip with 9 - 12 hour days for almost a week 🙃 On one of the days, I was especially frustrated and exhausted. I was out walking my dog in a terrible mood (lol) and I came across this random little bit of forest in the middle of a city. There were these massive oak trees with Spanish moss and so many birds and squirrels. It felt so alive, like it was breathing as I walked through it. There was this particularly massive tree with a family of cats living inside of the trunk (I was also especially affected by the cats because I had been thinking a lot about Artemis' 'lioness' aspect). I felt her presence so strongly there. I was such a welcome little gift and reminds me how deity work makes the mundane divine.

🥂 - What is your favorite devotional act or offering to give?

For Apollo(n): Listing to especially sweeping classical music with him. That's where I feel his presence most.

For Hekate: Going for late night drives!! It's a chance to take a breather from day-to-day life and appericate the unappreciated. The beauty of abandoned buildings, nocturnal critters skittering around, the way evening air tastes...I love it all.

For Artemis: Meditating and being out in nature with her are my obvious ones. But also just living. She is breath and green and survival, and everyday that I keep myself upright feels like a devotional act for her.

Are you named after anyone?  My parents only called me that because it wasn't a popular name in the 90s

When was the last time you cried?  In February, when my friend left. In fact, I cry very rarely because I have problems with experiencing deep emotions. When I really cried, it was probably February\March of last year. For obvious reasons.

Do you have kids?  No, but I'd like to one day. I feel too young to have children yet

Do you use sarcasm a lot?  Not very. Usually it annoys me if I think that the interlocutor is saying something stupid and then I use sarcasm. Otherwise, I rather prefer to talk directly about my irritability.

What’s the first thing you notice about other people? Clothing and accessories. One day when I was approaching the place of the date, I thought, "Oh my God, I hope it's not him in that ugly hat"

Eye colour?  I just found out it's called Hazel. Most of my friends think that I have brown eyes, but in fact it's just dark green. I myself thought for a long time that I had brown eyes, until I found out that this was impossible for genetic reasons in biology class. Lol.

Scary movies or happy endings?  In fact, I really don't like horror movies, as I am extremely nervous, but paradoxically I like Stephen King horror books, I also like to watch reviews of scary games, and at one time I also read a lot of SCP. And some of my favorites are La Favorite and Spencer. But I also like TV series, for example, Sexual Education, The Handmaid's Tale, Euphoria And a lot of animated series

Any special talents?  I can push my shoulder out of the joint and move my eye asymmetrically (but this is very dangerous because it occurs due to excessive blood pressure in the eyes and head). Also, I'm never late even if I'm late. For some reason, it always happens that I come before everyone else.

Where were you born?  Russia, in a small provincial town of Samara. (A million and a half is a small town?) This city used to be a pirate bay, then a fortress, then a merchant hub on the Silk Road, and therefore the city center is located near the Volga River and a beautiful long beach is a 5-minute walk away. Sometimes I think it looks like Miami, but with beautiful wooden architecture of the XIX century

What are your hobbies?  My hobby is art and it encompasses too many areas ranging from crafts and Craft and Art, and ending with the study of the latest fields of art. My professional activity is contemporary art, but I also draw, knit, embroider, sculpt, 3D model and much more. Now I'm finishing sewing another blanket, until recently I completely made my room, I redid some furniture, I really like to change spaces. I also like baking and now I have my own garden and I love messing with plants so much! But I don't perceive it as gardening, for me it's performative practices. And of course I really love sims and now I play sims 4 too much. A very important addition, I completely forgot to write about the TAROT. I started studying tarot since Halloween, but in general I have always been engaged in magical practices

Do you have any pets?  No, I like to communicate with animals and I've always wanted to get a cat, but now I understand that this is a very big responsibility

How tall are you?  182 cm, quite tall and thin

Fave subject in school?  I never liked school, but I liked Social Studies, Biology, World Culture and Art. At the university it was Art History, Psychology and Painting

Dream job?  Don't work. I burned out a lot after working at the museum and could not start a new job for 5 months. I would just like to please you with Sims content and get enough money for a living from it. Now I work remotely and I am most comfortable that now I can wake up, take a laptop and, lying in bed, perform work tasks without communicating with people. Sometimes I feel so bad that it turned out to be the optimal format for me, so as not to overexert myself. ATTENTION. double edged sword. like ok i try not to let myself care abt attention and try to be rlly careful now abt who i interact with but at the same time it rlly is validating when things Get Attention. some of my favorite fics have little to no engagement :( n like yea its not healthy to create FOR engagement (fast track 2 burnout) but its also like very disheartening to put time n effort n passion into sth only for it to fizzle out in the void

but whatever. ill make weird art forever

11- what do you consider to be romance?

THIS IS SO FUNNY 2 GET bc soooo much recently has made me reevaluate like. how I perceive this lollllll

anyways short answer: idfk man!!!!!!! close friendships n romance r incredibly cloudy in my mind cuz ive got a bad case of dogbrain!!

long answer is i just don’t quantify that stuff the way neurotypical ppl do :3 ties into th autism + nonhumanity. i also think cis ppl being attracted to me is gross lol. ideal romance for me is bein held n tended to like a noble knight tends their sword. I feel love like a dog feels abt their human!!! dogbrained!!! romance is being a guard dog, being a Really Good Boy but just soooo disconnected from like. idk allosexual/neurotypical quantifiers of “romance” for me lol

1. Book you’ve reread the most times?

- I thought this would be a tough question but then I thought of The Chronicles of Narnia. If I had to choose a specific story, probably The Horse and His Boy or The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I know the radio theater versions by heart and have read the books countless times. They have the best characters and always leave me with a sense of wonder and hope 💕 other contenders were Eragon, Sovay, and DragonSpell, from the hundreds of times I read them growing up lol. I haven’t had as much time to reread books lately, so there aren’t any more recent reads that I’ve already been rereading

12. Did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings?

- Yes! In AP English my junior year, we read Hamlet and Pride and Prejudice for the first time and I loved both. P&P is still one of my faves, and this is where the obsession began lol. I’m so glad I had such a good teacher in that class - she made it really easy to love those stories. I remember some other books from other years that I disliked (some I hated lol) but no more specifically come to mind that I enjoyed.

15. Recommend and review a book.

- You’ve already read nearly everything I’ve loved and recommended lol. So, I have two recommendations I can’t choose from: Nocturne by Alyssa Wees or Anne of Green Gables.

1. Nocturne: it’s a shorter book, about a ballerina in 1930s Chicago who dreams of more. She becomes prima ballerina of her company but primarily because of a mysterious patron who has interesting demands of her. It feels like it’s a romance but the ending isn’t what I expected. The writing style is what captivated me - the author was a ballerina and somehow she writes in a way that is rhythmic and lyrical and feels like a dance. I loved it. And it’s wild because I just picked it up because of the beautiful cover art lol

2. Anne of Green Gables: another childhood favorite of mine. Anne is an orphan who gets adopted by older farmers, a brother and sister. She is a whimsical child full of love, hope, and an imagination like no other. It’s the beginning of the story of her growing up and she’s just wonderful. Sometimes I got secondhand embarrassment from things she did but they were usually for pretty relatable reasons. She has a delightful way of viewing the world that will make you look around in wonder, too

20. What are things you look for in a book?

- I like stories with hope. The world is a dark place (like many fictional ones, too), and can feel overwhelmingly against us, so I want to read about the stories where they fight on with hope, in whatever capacity. It doesn’t have to be a fairy tale to be hopeful. I look for compelling, well-thought out characters who are flawed and realistic. I do typically look for more plot-driven books (lots of fantasy adventures or mysteries) but they MUST have good character development too or they just fall flat for me. Also, if it has a cool magic system or pirates or dragons or talking cats, you can bet I will pick it up lol

Last book: last book i read was Sharp Teeth by Toby Barlow. its a verse novel about lycanthrope packs in urban LA. i recommend! :)

So I am finally getting around to writing a proper intro post lol, so hi, i'm tsintzask, or tsin for short. i use that handle everywhere online pretty much, so if you see a tsintzask elsewhere, chances are it's me.

i have had this blog for a long time now, but only really became active here after reddit decided to ban the app i was using to access it. I was an /r/196 user who migrated to my unused blog, basically.

I'm from Greece, and I study computer science in college. As of the most recent edit, I am doing my masters program, so that's going pretty good.

i would consider myself an anarchist, though i don't think humanity is currently ready for that kind of world - i think there's just too many selfish people around that would seek to take advantage of things. still, the current system has got to go. the fundamental idea behind capitalism is to prioritize money over people, and that's just plain evil.

As for other stuff about me, i have been told before i have neurodivergent vibes (it wasn't in like in a derogatory way, but as a serious thing) and yeah i kinda see that. I ought to go get checked sometime

i like a lot of things, as you can see in my blog description: D&D, Pathfinder, Pokémon, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Terraria, insects, cats, memes, cute/wholesome stuff, theater, basic human decency. And I wanna gush about my likes a bit-

D&D and Pathfinder

I've been a player in both d&d 5e and pathfinder 2e, and a DM in d&d 5e. we're talking whole years of doing this. making characters is really fun, and playing them is even more fun! I mostly play online over Discord, but have played a lot irl too, and still do.

Pokémon

While i'm not as into it as i used to in my teens, i have played every game from pokemon pearl up to ultra moon, but not any further as i don't own a switch. that is subject to change if/when i get more into piracy. I've also played pokemon emerald and leaf green in emulators, and i've played mystery dungeon: explorers of darkness. one of the few video games to actually make me cry, btw.

Genshin Impact & Honkai Star Rail

this is my most recent fascination, i've been at it for a couple years now. mihoyo makes their games so incredibly gay and i love that. while i've been a bit burnt out on genshin, i am currently enjoying star rail a whole lot! and i ship a bunch of stuff that sometimes contradicts each other, so if you see conflicting ship arts in my reblogs, there's why. part of it is that i ship kujou sara with every other girl in genshin

oh man, terraria. all of my high school energy and two of my undergrad college years went into this game, it's just so good. I occasionally do modded runs every few months now.

I'm not a theater nerd or anything, but I did go to an amateur theater group for a couple years. was fun, i'd do it again for sure!

Basic Human Decency

I just think being nice is good. i don't get argumentative often; I used to argue often, but i try to keep most of my interactions with bigots/assholes/etc as a simple joke on their expense before i block them. also, it's taking some effort, but when i have something negative to comment on someone i don't actually have reason to dislike, i've been trying to just let it go and ignore instead.

After I told my dad about Phantom Liberty (which I HAVEN'T fully played through yet, so please no spoilers), he told me Escape from NY had a similar concept and that I should watch it... so of course I did ;) (don't call me uncultured; I didn't grow up in the eighties! Love the movies from that time, but I sadly don't know a lot of the popular ones!)

Currently Reading- I'm an English major, so I feel bad for saying this, but I haven't really read any books in a while. Some people I know irl have sorta rubbed this in my face, and it pisses me off because I love books-- I just have horrible ADD. I'm considering just rereading the Spellslinger series or Fahrenheit 451 as a more digestible alternative while I attempt to get back into the ol' reading groove. I also read Edgar Allen Poe's short story Descent Into the Maelstrom today, which was pretty cool (but still not as cool as the Cask of Amontillado!).

Sweet/Savory/Spice- Really depends on the day, but I tend to go for sweet most often.

Current Obsession- Cyberpunk 2077, of course! The game is consuming my every waking hour and I finally got the Dog Eat Dog quest a few days ago! (did a full replay so I could fully experience 2.0 and Dogtown-related easter eggs). Going to start doing VP again soon, but I've been burnt out lol.

Ok ok so you opened a big can of worms I'll try to keep the lid on best I can

So I'll ramble about the Dunlendings first because I have been knee deep into their existence with my recent fics I cant leave my babies alone. It's all over the place bc I got in ramble mode sorry. Also, it's very long lol.

Ok so dunlendings are said to be the descendants of some of the haladin, right? So their clothes are partially influenced by that in the same way gondor is influenced by former numenorean trends and the likes

I fucking hate the movie depiction of the dunlendings. Look at this shit. No. I refuse.

What I will take from that shitshow is the primarily dark hair and the preference for shorter (not more than like 5cm) unadorned beards, and some incorporation of furs.

The dunlendings used to live in the forests of Middle earth, not just in what would come to be Dunland. But when the numenoreans needed wood they chased them off.

Based on that I think they used more muted, natural colours like greens, deep reds and oranges, brown, the occasional black. They preferred light fabrics back then, especially in the settlements close to the shores and further south. They did a sort of tiedye to imitate natural fur patterns during hunting. That's something they do even in later ages.

When they were forced to migrate inland and into the mountains (what would be Dunland) their fabrics in general became sturdier. Thicker linen, more wool, and the likes.

They keep the population of larger predators in check in the mountains, so their furs make it into the garments fairly often. Usually used for children's clothing because they are very much mortal and they know babies and elders need a bit of extra protection from the cold.

Usually they also have ceremonial furs for special occasions (usually any type of bear for holidays of sorts)

And pelts with peculiar colouring/patterns or from mountain lions/wolves/other pack animals and the likes for special festivities relating to members of the community. (Think wedding, burial, birth).

Not everyone wears those to all celebrations. They are worn by the one who is the star of the show and their family, so to speak. Bride and groom's families wear those, while everyone else wears normal festivity clothes.

Those are accompanied by fairly unadorned clothes with sturdy but artful geometrical embroidery, usually around the hems, collars and cuffs.

Belts worn by the males are the centerpiece beside the felt, and are very artful, especially because in my hcs every village has mastered the art of burning patterns into leather. The belts are wide and loose, and usually are made from a prey animal of their formal fur garment bc they believe they should not deprive predator from prey, even in death.

Women wear usually dresses for celebrations, they are sturdy and have several layers so you can mix and match depending on the season. So several underlayers, chemises, stockings per ensemble.

The dresses themselves formal but not center-stage formal, but every single one has a decorative overskirt you tie around the waist. That comes on and off, and the dress is perfectly complete without it. That one has lots of embroidery.

The women in the family usually start embroidering a fabric when the baby is around 5 and shows some character, and its finished when they marry. Jts their dowry of sorts. If no women are in the family/can sew then theres usually elders who are more than happy bc while dunlendings do not particularly care for fashion statements, the overskirts are an expression of love from the community for the girl/woman.

Every day clothing is still muted in the later years of the 3rd age, and each settlement has their own preferred garment and usually pelt of choice. For example, you'll have a settlement close to the mountains of Dunland where the people prefer bear fur over wolf, while a settlement further towards Rohan/south prefers wolf pelt over bear. It's not entirely dependent on where they live.

Also families that havent moved away for a few generations have developed special embroidery similar to family heraldry, which gets more elaborate with every generation bc they take pride in their heritage and survival despite the numenorean's best efforts to get rid of the dunlendings.

I'll cut myself off here because it's already so long lol.

Idk if the dunlendings are something you're interested in, but imo much of these things (use of natural colours and tyedye to blend into woodland realms, use of ceremonial furs and artful belts and hand-me-down dedicated embroidery) are what have been passed down from the haladin people, and adjusted to the current time/living situation of the dunlendings
