You know, this metaphor sounded a lot better in his head. Maybe he'll tell Benjamin about his mom's favorite grilled cheese recipe after this, that guy certainly could use some comfort food--

Pro-tip: next time a dead child comes out of the blue to tell you to knock off your abusive behavior, don't antagonize them. Especially if they're the 'frightful brat' that's destiny bonded with a psychic Pokémon and has access to empathic powers.

Lauren has to cut herself off before she spouts some rather unprofessional choice words. Even still, given that her sunglasses were half-off of her face- a consequence of the mighty jolt she'd just performed- the damage was already done. It was way too dark out for this- but better this than anyone who meant trouble.

..She might have to hold that thought, actually.

"Where in the world did you even come from??" She straightens her shades, and tucks a few flyaways into submission. "Half of the things around here need authorization to get into."

Ugh! What a terrible earth day it was! This heat made his planning unbearable so the only thing he could do right now was pass the time and wait for the weather to cool down. Thus, it meant finding little things to do around this filthy city.

The irken is just continuing to read the newspaper in response. Did he even hear the other person saying stuff? Probably not in all honesty. It's only after finishing the newspaper and looking up does he realize that maybe, just maybe, Micah had been talking to him.

"Eh?? Did you say something? Whatever, I don't care anyway." A hand motions about in a lazy effort to shoo him away. "Can't you see I'm busy doing nothing right now??"

ღ. ┊ Micah  grits  his  teeth,  eye  twitching  at  the  bluntness  of  the  invader's  reply.  Sure,  he'd  been  expecting  a  snarky  response  to  his  equally  snide  remark,  but  he  certainly  doesn't  appreciate  the  label  of  stupid,  nor  the  assured  nature  behind  the  riposte.  Like  the  answer  was  obvious  to  everyone  but  him;  some  kind  of  sick  inside  joke  he  was  the  punchline  to.  His  patience  is  notoriously  thin,  but  he  really  doesn't  feel  like  getting  into  a  shouting  match  with  a  stranger,  so  he  pinches  the  bridge  of  his  nose,  giving  himself  a  few  moments  to  cool  off.  Yet,  even  after  trying  to  calm  himself,  his  retort  exudes  bellicosity.

The "Shut Up" Kiss

Isn't it rude to interrupt someone mid-sentence by kissing them? Apparently not. Especially if you're dancing 'The Masochism Tango' (in the Masochism Tango, the entire relationship hinges on the mutual hatred between the two lovebirds… for better or for worse.) May also be used on someone pointlessly rambling on, intentionally trying to evade said kiss. Whilst the cute version occurs when one character is babbling nervously, either because they get tongue-tied around the object of their affections or because they are trying to apologize for something, and the other cuts them off with a kiss to show that they understand.

Their father's message follows not long after their mother's. (Three messages, to be exact.)

'Getting eedy- be down soon.' 'Eedy' 'Ready'

Very slowly, Lauren's mouth pulls into something that resembles an amused grin. That shifts into a much more genuine look when she notices Cheryl's delight- and she couldn't blame her. It was usually tricky enough to get one of their parents to come along, much less two for two. It was just.. Nice to see Cherry this gleeful.

"Alright, be back in a sec." There's a note of laughter to her voice, mostly from watching her sister scurry off so quickly. Lauren heads to her old room to see what clothes she still had around here- and once she settles on a look she likes, she makes her way back. Much to her surprise, it seems like everyone else is all ready.

"Sure looks like it, darlin'. Not that they'd be anything else with how much of a beauty their mama is." Mr. Dearest lifts his wife's hand to his lips, and Lauren gives a good-natured eyeroll.

"That goes for you too, Dad. You both look good no matter what." The smile from earlier makes a small reappearance upon receiving a pat on her shoulder from her dad.

"And I'm glad getting eedy went well for you."

"You know, I was hopin' you girls hadn't seen that."

      Cheryl  smiles,  deft  fingers  gliding  across  the  keyboard  as  she  adds  a  message  of  her  own  into  the  chat.

❛itll  be  so  fun!!!  we  dont  get  to  spend  much  time  togetherrrrr  pretty  please  with  me  on  top???  😸❜

      A  few  seconds  of  silence  pass  by,  but  they  feel  like  hours  to  Cheryl.  She  can  see  both  of  her  parents  are  typing,  but  she  knows  how  slow  they  can  be  sometimes.  She  beams  yet  again  when  a  chime  finally  sounds  from  both  her  phone  and  Lauren's.

❛Sure,  just  let  me  get  ready.  Mama's  gotta  look  her  best,  you  know.  😉❜

      Cheryl  throws  her  arms  up,  cheering  softly.  They  rarely  do  anything  together,  at  least  not  with  all  four  of  them  present,  so  to  say  she's  happy  they'll  be  spending  today  with  one  another  is  an  understatement.

      ❝Yay!  Oh,  we  should  make  sure  we  look  nice  like  Mama!  This  is  gonna  be  so  fuckin'  fun!❞

      This  little  arrangement  has  clearly  lifted  Cheryl's  spirits.  She  rushes  off  to  get  herself  ready,  coming  back  around  the  same  time  her  mother  and  father  emerge  from  their  own  room.

      ❝Aww,  you  look  so  nice,  sweetums,❞  their  mother  says  with  a  smile,  planting  a  kiss  on  top  of  Cheryl's  head.  She  turns  her  attention  to  Lauren,  nodding  in  approval  of  her  appearance  as  well.  ❝Both  our  babies  are  drop  dead  stunnin',  aren't  they,  schnookums?❞
