Re-Re-Re-mapping Revachol

… and the Insulinde as a whole

Very much inspired by ssshiversss and Map Max, whose versions of the map were absolutely invaluable for wrapping my head around this project. Combining their work with the original map of Jamrock, and doing my best to stay loyal to the (often contradictory) descriptions in the text of the game, I think I’m happy with what I’ve ended up with.

Much like my predecessors, I have elected to separate Coal City and La Delta, and in fact ignore any attempt by the game to convince me that La Delta is west of Martinaise. It just… It just isn’t.

FR the magic Mira touch breathing life into the story fr!! But YES I NOTICED barous houndour and readers houndour paralleling their trainers dw i read that and fr was like omg….that houndours protecting the injured one…..guys……it’s Barou reader….i love the expansion on dynamics within the pokemon setting though like you said the psychic dark type beef I can imagine that just like wild animals they’ve got their own sort of territorial tendencies too (pretty certain seviper and zangoose are canonical mortal enemies mirroring their irl counterparts)

So real honestly all of the pokemon fitting that dynamic makes her team even funnier LMAO aegislash is also so funny just thinking back on its arc makes me giggle

YES THE SCARF ITEM “bro idk wtf this is” “well it’s still an item even if it’s useless so” but FRRRRRR I forgot to add that in my commentary but that was such a good Easter egg/foreshadowing hint

PURSUIT ANGST ON TOP FR 1.5 chapters in and it’s already sad (ig it’s sadder for you because you know the ending though idk if the average reader would consider it to be particularly angsty)

BAROU AND READER PARALLELED IN THEIR HOUNDOURS can’t even lie that had me sniffling a bit they’re so cute…and the way the grumpig and the principal both enjoyed having power over others but don’t have any way to actually maintain that power (reader straight up leaving the school, houndour being immune to grumpig’s moves)…i can’t wait to write more of that kind of thing HAHHA like otoya’s froakie is def going to be very wannabe-cool like him, some of karasu’s birds (specifically talonflame, not so much honchkrow who’s a bit of a problem child) are super motherly and like to look after younger pokémon (imagine his fletchling evolves into a fletchinder before otoya and reader get deino and happiny and while they’re rehabbing/raising the two it helps out becuase it has flame body as an ability so the two babies like to sleep near it 🥹), and zantetsu’s abomasnow from the side stories is also an idiot LKSJFHLKSJ truly nature vs nurture

yes seviper and zangoose do have that!! i’ve been referencing pokédex entries when coming up with behaviors and whatnot (hence the explanation for houndour’s flash fire ability) so that everything makes sense with lore and all!! lots of research being done TRUST i have like a map of kalos pulled up and i always check to see if pokémon are even found in the region or not (unfortunately joltik/galvantula isn’t found in kalos EXCEPT in the friend safari so i might have reader capture it during the arc where they’re all with hiori since that ends up being kinda safari-zone related??

aegislash is so funny i can’t wait to write that arc so i can make memes about it HAHAHA aegislash the number one nagi x reader shipper…definitely reads nagi x reader (as in nagi x pursuit reader not self-insert) fan fiction on ao3 actually no it WRITES that shit…also probably posted the nagi and pursuit reader isekai plot as an actual published manwha (it’s a “ghost” writer LMAOAOA) which they all only find out about because it ends up in reo’s favorites library and he ends up describing it to nagi at some point because he tells nagi about all of his fav isekai manhwas (hence nagi’s knowledge of the genre conventions)…at first nagi’s like “wow what a basic plot” and he’s about to fall asleep but then all of a sudden he’s like “hold on this is sounding a little too familiar what’s the male lead’s name???” and reo’s like “seichiro magi” SDJFHLSDKJFHDK

hehe i was worried i made it to obvious with the houndoominite discovery and mentioning that houndour wears it but tbh i think that’s more of a “if you know it’s obvious if not it’s not” thing…also idk why but the image of reader’s menacing houndour (and eventually houndoom) just having a literal red bow with a sparkly gemstone on at all times cracks me up like it’s so cute now i need her to give gyarados a matching collar just because imagining smiling happy dancing red gyarados with a white ribbon is also adorable

NALKSJFHLKDSJ yes it was papa karasu!! in the pursuit-verse the karasus are like league royalty because they’ve been holding custody of the shalour gym so before yayoi it’s their dad and then after her it’ll be her child with isagi LMAO unless tabito takes over (which he was planning on attempting but then he decided to be a daycare owner) PLSSS i didn’t want you to think that i was coming up w kinky nicknames for (tabito) karasu but from now on i’m going to call their dad papa karasu so it’s not confusing
