i adore thinking about reverie of rebirth and bedkari in general because god. they’re both fucked. both of these idiots are fucked

hikari never really recovered fully from romeo’s death. she managed to appear well established to others, but she was still violently unstable and grieving and unsure what to do without romeo. without the one person she knew. without her guiding light. he was torn away from them, and they want him back. and selfishly, she wants him back exactly the way he was. his body is still weak. it’s still branded with the tattoos that represented his accursed brain condition. his body and its physical state is exactly the way it was before he died. the only thing that’s different is the limiter she placed upon him with asuka’s help so he can stay awake without dying again. she wanted him exactly as she remembered him… not realizing that she would cause him harm by doing so.

romeo, in return, is spiteful and angry and remorseful that he’s here like this. he’s in pain mentally and physically but he’s too prideful to talk about it. he simply begins lashing out violently against the people he lives with— hikari especially. he’s meant to be dead, god damn it! he shouldn’t be here, body and mind slowly healing, witnessing the joy and love that’s shown to him by his sister and baiken and the goddamn yokai who he manipulated like a pavlov dog for his own game. it’s like he can feel the rot that should be there, the maggots behind his eyes. he feels like he’s controlling himself from behind a screen… and he isn’t even dreaming this time. he could grab hikari’s neck and choke her with his own two hands. curse her for bringing him back like this. but it was his fault, in a way. he made her admire him like this. he skewed her view and her emotions so hard, it’s no wonder she sees him like a prophet sees a god. but they’re still the one who did this… his head is foggy. he’s caught in this cognitive loophole that he can’t escape from. and all he can do is sleep, sit at that untuned piano that lies in the sunlight heavy room of this house, and scream his frustrations right back at hikari… who barely even flinches at it.

Anything Anything? Asuka and Asuka-Related Fun Facts: 1. RK's color palette (02) matches with Raven, except with the places and overall prominence of black and white being opposite between them. They even both have a coin in one eye. Asuka in his right, Raven in his left. This means that between the two they make up one dead man and one alive man. 2. In Vastedge, the Tome of Origin had blood red pages. They absolutely should have kept this it was sick as hell. 3. Also in Vastedge, the folds in the front of his robes resemble stacked pages of a closed book. There's a concept art of him opening himself up, confirming that he has been fused with the Tome for a long time.

4. I-no's recurring black wings (i.e, in her super) alongside Raven might be a reference to the two information-collecting ravens of Odin, Huggin (~mind) and Muninn (~will). Odin is often depicted with one eye and is associated with a number of concepts, notably including death, knowledge, wisdom, frenzy, and sorcery. 5. The only time he implies any actual aggression toward someone (as in, wanting to hurt them just to hurt them and not because he feels has to) is against Anji, implied by the following battle intro in Strive: Anji: "No agreement necessary, right?" Asuka: "No, but you'll wish we had one." 6. While he certainly does care about the opinions of those he likes, like Sol, he's especially sensitive to the opinion of Jack'O. See the round win line "Please don't be mad at me!" and the battle intro: Jack'O: "Trick or... Oh, hey Asuka!" Asuka: "Are my tricks or treats not good enough for you? That's... kind of sad."

7. Related to the previous point, Asuka also describes his separation with Raven as "kind of sad". The implication is that when something is kind of sad, this actually means he is suffering a million internal deaths. 8. I have heard that buckwheat noodles (re: Asuka's hobby of making them via rube-goldberg machine) are a stereotypical old-man food in Japan. 9. In Accent Core, he instructs Anji to tell I-no that there are no second chances. In the same game, he also tells Slayer the he can never change. However, after Raven tells Asuka that Anji is not someone who can be trusted, Asuka replies: "Watch what you say, Raven. To survive... people always improve. Humanity keeps on living, even if it goes against God... The fact that you are standing here is only further proof of their tenacity". This implies that he considers himself to be something closer to I-no than Anji or Raven. That is to say, not human. Considering his actions and, more literally, the fact that he is literally fused with the source code of the Universe, this is an understandable position. 10. Going off of his model and concept art for Strive, it seems that he is mostly legs. He has a similar leg:torso ratio as Jack'O. 11. There's something wrong with him. Also, his English VA in Overture would go on to voice Bedman in Xrd.

Atleast someone takes care of his physical appearance for em, he's getting free spa days without someone complaining over how much he nitpicks. He'd act like he doesn't like how much physical affection, hed be all "love is feable it isn't going to last and most people that are motivated by it end up crying in someone's couch" but everytime you headed his warnings, he'd get a tad...pretty annoyed. "Am I disgusting to you?" "What?" "You haven't hugged me for an entire 6 minutes is there a bug on me?" You're also the person behind how polished the bed is, with Romeo or not. and luckily, i have quite a bit to share:

A lot of this au is based on Chaos’ words that in another story, he could easily make himself the hero, rewrite GG reality, and rinse and repeat. Hence, Bedman’s role is to research how Chaos can feasibly insert himself into different realities or rewrite them in a way that wouldn’t completely eradicate time and space as we know it, likely in exchange for ensuring Delilah’s safety and health. As depicted, I’m certain Chaos’ taste for eccentric…”camp” that makes existence agonizing for everyone else is a clashing point between the very utilitarian Bedman and him.

Bedman’s absolute world would have any wish or any will come into fruition, like a lucid dream, essentially eliminating suffering and consequence and opening up infinite possibilities. Chaos’ ideal world is that of overcomplexity, unnecessary suffering, and tropes. It’s a fun dichotomy, especially since they’re both complete yappers just with entirely different ideologies.

Either way, in a sense, this is Bedman’s personal hell, and he himself views this experience as “punishment.” Not like he has a choice in just disobeying anyways.

But another thing i really wanted to explore in this AU is that of Bedman and Nagoroyuki, both who are unwillingly exploited by Chaos. Nago’s kind of a “frame of reference,” a “straight man” in all of this, as well as an unwilling actor.

They both have to see the other suffer, basically, and in a sense, they both want the other to get out and forget this whole experience. For Nago (who doesn’t have the frame of reference that Bedman did, in fact, commit terrible atrocities), this is some child Chaos exploits for his own gain. For Bedman, this is an unwilling bystander caught in the crossfire and chained and muzzled and ordered like a hound.

I can imagine their relationship paralleling that of Baiken and Delilah over time, and maybe that way, they can overcome Chaos. If there was to be a good ending, which I think there would be.

Also, Bedman’s able to retain more sanity than Asuka thanks to Nago being there and also being like “yeah that guy is Fucked Up, you shouldn’t have to deal with that.” But also Chaos just thinks Nago’s the coolest shit ever, which is why he creates storylines for both of them specifically.

I’d imagine if this was legit, Axl would be the one to fix everything, recalling when he waltz’d into Bedman’s dream world in Xrd. Or maybe Asuka would see himself in Bedman, and Bedman in him, helping prevent the inevitable spiral into madness from dealing with Chaos every waking moment

I GET THE INFODUMP PASS YAYYYYY (thank you) I’m… okay where do I even beginnn like… hmmm… I was recently was rewatching the bedman fight and I think it’s cute it looks like he’s overclocking and then turning into just a head reminds me of his victory emote from XX and it just made me smile idk how I didn’t process that on my first first watch… also GOD his animations are so. So cool. I personally much prefer the typical 2D animations and art than 3D renders for GG and I think Roboky is one of those character I will always just ADMIRE… his shapes are just so satisfying to me. I do love his 3D model in Xrd idk wtf typa battery acid he’s on but Jesus Christ he looks so good… it gives me hope that when he gets added to strive he will look even better ! BUT LIKE YEAH idk he has so many unique animations (thatre all archived and SO fun to gawk at) and i think he’s also just a character that is so fun to build upon in your own way (IE thinking of robot things he does)… he’s also just annoying as hell and i love it. OH ALSO I love his robotic voice in XX it’s so cute. Kinda sad they got rid of that tone in XRD but honestly I do really like both and I’m excited to see how it evolves later on….

As for Robovenom. Lord. Don’t even. Everyone look away… the way roboky and venom parallel eachother has genuinly caused me to just stare at my ceiling for hours. I have a playlist of songs that make me think of them and it’s just… IDK they have so much potential STILL expecially with the new chapter of life they’ve both found themselves entangled within… we have a human who has had the mindset and self deprivation to the extent he’s existing to fulfil orders and take nothing of his own desire into note and is existing day by day in his own unhappiness because that’s what he’s used to he doesn’t even think he deserves happiness. then we have a robot who has a very assertive personality and although may be harsh he prides his appearance and values dreams and what the future CAN hold and deep down. Does like what humanity provides… goddd. They both have that hidden soft spot, they were both built as killing machines, what more can ya ask for. It’s strange how… soft (?) he seems towards venom in XRD but idk idk rips my skin off I think they see themselves in the other even if not realizing it at first. They’re like two sides of a coin. And it’s crazy roboky didn’t know venom was literally going to kill himself in the bedman fight until venom just states it outright. A.B.A./Elphelt fluff drabble!

When A.B.A. turned up on Elphelt's doorstep in the rain, Elphelt almost wasn't certain what to do with the other woman. She knew, however, that there was no way she could turn away a friend in need!

Circumstances irrelevant, A.B.A. had been staying in Elphelt’s little apartment, mostly sleeping on the couch, or the floor for her own comfort. She didn’t know why the floor appealed so much better to her, but Elphelt didn’t mind when she found the green-haired woman curled up on the living room floor, overly fluffy blanket tossed slightly aside.

It was rare that A.B.A. wanted to eat, but sometimes she would steal a little bit of food from Elphelt’s meals. She felt bad, but what she didn’t know was that Elphelt had been making sure to cook enough for her. Something made her feel like a burden.. but Elphelt was careful to make sure she was taken care of, trying to make it less obvious so that the other woman wouldn’t feel as bad.

They didn’t talk much in the beginning. In fact, A.B.A. didn’t speak at all. Elphelt did her best to start up conversations, to boost A.B.A.’s mood, but it was rare for her to get much of a response.

The course of events as A.B.A. stayed with Elphelt lead to a night where the bright eyed metal vocalist heard soft sobs coming from the living room. Curled up in her own bed, she was worried, but didn’t want to set off anything worse, so she stayed in her bed as her door remained unlocked. When the sobs died down to sniffles, Elphelt heard feet shuffling slowly, and saw a shadow in the space between her bedroom door and the carpet.

Knock… knock…

Elphelt heard two soft, separated knocks on her bedroom door, faint sniffles echoing with them.

“It’s unlocked! Come in, A.B.A.!” Elphelt projected softly.

The door creaked open to reveal a sad, soggy looking, green haired woman with tears drying in her eyes, in an oversized shirt that didn’t belong to her, wiping her eyes and sniffling.

Her tears triggered something in Elphelt, causing the woman to quickly zip out of bed and grab onto A.B.A. immediately. “Ohh, come here Abby…” Elphelt wrapped her arms around the taller woman, who had slouched into her arms.

"Abb...y?" A.B.A. muttered, confused. No one had ever given her a nickname before, let alone such a cutesy one. "You don't mind a nickname, do you? I can just call you your name-- but that's not super duper important right now! What's super duper important is that you're crying! Come here, come here!" Elphelt pulled her even tighter, squishing firmly against A.B.A..

As she was pulled close, the homunculus woman buried her face into Elphelt's shoulder, hiding her face and letting a few tears fall. Her eyes widened, however, as Elphelt scooped her up and carefully brought her to sit on her fluffy, pink bed. Handing her a soft, white stuffed rabbit, she began to ramble to the other woman.

"Okay, so you know you don't have to tell me anything, but if you, y'know, wanna say something! I'm here, and you can stay here as long as you need! Consider me a shoulder to cry on! You don't have to be alone, whatever's going on!" As she said her last sentence, Elphelt grabbed A.B.A.'s hands and smiled gently at her.

A.B.A. looked at her, and wrapped her arms around her tight, letting a few more sobs spill out, before trying to clear herself up in order to speak. "Can I.. stay in your bed?" A.B.A. asked, trying her best not to immediately regret the request due to shame. "I'm so tired..." She whined a bit, trying to wipe her tears a bit more.

Elphelt consoled A.B.A. in the most gentle way she could, the two ending up curled up in Elphelt's cozy, soft bed, Elphelt nuzzling into A.B.A.'s neck gently. Warmth.. A.B.A. hadn't felt so warm in a long time. The softer side of the metal vocalist's voice began to fill the room, as she sang something soothing, something of a lullaby.

A.B.A. got quiet, listening to Elphelt's singing, feeling her thoughts and tears slow a bit, until suddenly the room was quiet, except for a soft yawn from Elphelt, who was nuzzling closer to A.B.A., perhaps ready to go to bed, until she felt the homunculus's wide eyes looking over at her.

"Sing to me again... please?"

so Hikari yeah? My oc who i’ve been working on for over a year now! This subject is fascinating. She appeared to us suddenly within the ruins of the documented showdown between Venom and the figure known as Bedman. However, she seems to have shown up on our radar as one of the late Bedman’s anti-matter gear bombs. Yet somehow, she still takes this form, a form that appears to be a simple teenage girl.

The subject is most recognizable by her appearance. Not by her vivid blue hair or sickly pale skin, but by the appearance of cat ears and a forked tail on her body. Due to this, her species is unknown. Her form is human, but she certainly isn’t one. At least not fully.

The subject, Hikari, appears to have no memories from before mid-2186. After much talking, she admitted that the earliest memory she had was waking up in the middle of a forest, surrounded by overgrown grass. She does not remember her own last name. No known family members. Hikari showcases many unstable behaviors, ranging from self-sacrificing behaviors to extreme mood swings. Most notable is her documented insomnia. She spends nights on end not sleeping, barely even letting herself take naps. We have observed her sleeping habits, and after witnessing her getting to sleep, she proceeded to wake up crying while sobbing Bedman’s name.

After much rehabilitation, the subject returned to a state of emotional stability, and was discharged from permanent surveillance after many requests from her. She has stated that she has a goal to complete.

Round 1 will be posted between Friday, January 19th and Thursday, January 25th. It will be split between 4 sets, each set being posted on a different day. There will be a total of 128 participants (32 participants in each individual set) divided in 64 polls (16 polls in each individual set). In regards to Elphelt, would you say her emotions were faked in spite on being a sleeper agent? I honestly don't think so considering how lively she is. Plus, if her emotions weren't real, she wouldn't have screamed in horror at Ramlethal's supposed death in Revelator. Although, it appears that the one emotion that sadly eludes her is romantic love as she has a good grasp of familial love as shown with Ram and understanding Bedman?.

Yeah, it's fine. We were just talking Anime and plot writing (which could stand improvements, but I digress).

As for Elphelt... it's not so much that her Emotions were synthetic, well... technically EVERY ASPECT of her was Synthetic, being born and fabricated in the Backyard... but not everything is something you can control right down to the microns of details.

That is to say, Human Emotions are born from experiences and instincts, that's not something you can graft on to someone and simply expect them to perform perfectly.

Of course, that's something not even Ariels understood on her own terms, and even now she's still learning what it means to be human.

Not even I-No understood it, and she was given more time to "act like a Human" than most would!

Emotions are something based largely on interactions with other forms of life, human or otherwise...

Being Happy is the state of expressing enjoyment of a positive situation.

Love is something a bit deeper than the concept of Happiness, and in many cases is much more long-term. Love in fact is closer to a Promise or an Oath than a simple temporary state of being "Happy" with someone.

But even if Happiness is Temporary, that doesn't mean it can't be achieved in a repetitive and healthy way... as said, Love is something more of a constant or regular 'drive' or 'motivation' for people.

Elphelt grew attached to her sister as "family" despite the gap between them as siblings with an agenda, simply because Elphelt CHOSE to acknowledge her feelings with her sister Ramlethal.

None of that was relevant to her mission that Ariels gave her, it was something she chose for herself as an individual.

Even if she was forbidden to "love" others in her directives, that was still something she could do... become attached, make friends, become family, interact.

It's more accurate to say that despite her directives, Elphelt circumvented wherever she could.

And when Sol finally confronted her on where she truly stood within her heart and how she really felt... she defied those directives even if it meant killing herself.

She would have loathed herself and her own restricted existence to Death if it weren't for Ariels and Sol's interventions.

Reconstructing herself "as a human" would be much easier to do once Elphelt was finally given the freedom to "be herself".

It's more accurate to say Ramlethal had a MUCH harder time learning how to be human than Elphelt did. Simply because she was never told how much value she held as an individual.

These were things Elphelt never grappled with, never struggled with. She was satisfied with her identity even if she was merely a tool for Ariels at first. Of course, unlike Ramlethal, Elphelt was never thrown aside, though the fact Ariels tried to kill her sister WAS a deep betrayal.

It is hard to say if Elphelt will ever forgive her mother for what she did... but there's a great many other things Elphelt is doing in her life now that she could never do "as a Valentine"...

And even if she's a bit clumsy at some things, there's no longer anything that can truly stop her from being who she was meant to be as a person.

Even if there are still "gaps" in her feelings, just like any flower in a field, there's STILL room to grow and bloom.

That's how Emotions are, by nature.

Hmm it seems like arcade mode confirmed what I'd predicted they'd reveal about the bedframe. It really isn't a person, nor is Bedman actually piloting it from beyond the grave. It's even trying to permanently destroy itself, which breaks my heart. But Delilah clings to it desperately because yeah watching the only thing you have from your dead loved one want to annihilate itself must be AWFUL. Poor girl 😢

Yeah, completely off the mark from what I had been expecting. Ah well, I can concede when I'm wrong. At least to some extent it makes things a little less sad, there's some closure in the finality of it instead of having to desperately fight off an inevitable end. It's little more than a keepsake for Delilah, but even that comes with a whole fuckton of baggage and there's no gentle way to get through that.

That is absolutely not gonna stop me in terms of writing, because aside from just ignoring canon like I have been this whole time, I'm starting to concoct new thoughts. One is the obvious one that we literally canonically have a guy who can pull 'ghosts' from the backyard so we can absolutely bullshit something out of it.

Alternatively, I'm formulating a theory that since allegedly he's some sort of multidimensional entity now, the fact that the bed exists still is the exact reason he can't do something to properly manifest. Sort of like with Axl back in XX, he can't functionally coexist in a space where there's basically a second 'him' walking around, even if it's just a programmed echo. It's absolutely just hopeful fan speculation, but now I'm imagining an alternate ending where the thing does get tragically destroyed and Delilah is distraught at one of the last remnants of her brother being ruined, but he pops right out of the broken bedframe since now there's nothing stopping him from appearing
