So, I’ve Made A Consensus

 So, Mark’s done it again. Another cryptic little teaser. And along with it, a host of cryptic blogs. But I’ll get to that later. 

A picture started to float around. A very specific one. Another Heist teaser. 

At first, big blogs posted it. No context otherwise than a few tags, ‘markiplier’ and ‘ahwm’. When asked about the picture, no blog seemed to have memory of posting it, or replied in a cryptic fashion. So I decided to conduct an experiment. I went to blogs on anon (mostly) to see how they would respond to a question.

“Where’d you get that Heist picture?”

This was the result.

There was part one of my experiment. They all responded in the same sense. “What photo?” “Did I post a photo?” “???“

While discussing this on discord, I heard that users were popping up in notes asking about this. Usually people with a URL with a form of ‘slap---’ in their names. So I ran another experiment. I made a post feigning ignorance on the subject. 

And I got an influx of names in my notes. Some simply liked, some commented with words of confusion on the subject or stating all they could see was a black rectangle, and some reblogged with comments like the ones above. 

I visited a few blogs and found some interesting details. 

Enter a blog by the name of ‘itistimegetready’. Their header has morse in it.

 I translated the morse three times to get this message:

“You ready? This is just the start. Slapclub.”

Of course, a club. Like kick club, but for slapping. Slap club. Alright, so where would this come from? The main conclusion was a members stream. This is extremely likely as there is a solid divide in the community between “slappers” and unassuming fans. 

The same blog mentioned above provided a very good leading point for this theory. They have tagged some of their posts with the phrase, “never thought id be on this side of things” This suggests that by proxy of a membership and slap club, they are able to be a direct accomplice of Mark. 

This same blog has posted more Morse, but I haven't been able to translate it due to errors in the code. 

Moving on, many of the bigger community blogs seem to be playing along in this. Fischyplier, markiplitessepticeyes, wilfcrd, caustic-synishade, bechuman, starridge, and kenmarlenn to name a few that I’ve observed. 

I’ll update this thread if anything else happens. Also, feel free to add your observations!!

Inhume

I’ve been shaking with nervous and excited energy for the last two days. Nervous, because Unus Annus ends in 12 days. Excited, because I will have been here for the beginning and end of this beautiful experiment.

I’m not an artist. I’m not an editor. Words are one of the only outlets I have and half the time I can’t get them to do what I need them to do. But here’s a small piece all the same. It’s how I celebrate the Beautiful.

Title: Inhume

About: From the moment the coffin opens to the moment it closes in “The Truth of Unus Annus.” In part inspired by @bechuman‘s lovely piece. (NOT a ship fic. DO NOT tag with ship tags)

They opened the casket together. The empty space gaped like a starving maw. 

Or something gentler. An inviting void, the space between open arms.

Ethan released a trembling sigh.

Beside him, Mark breathed, “Yeah.”

“We’re doing this,” Ethan said, looking to Mark, the impossible alternative left hanging on the edge of his voice.

Mark kept his eyes lowered, raking his gaze over the velvet interior without really seeing any of it.

“We made a deal,” he said finally.

The seconds ticked by. The casket lid weighed against their palms. 

They could close it. Walk away. Leave their coffin vacant.

They could stop the clock. They could try again. 

Or let it run. Let time march on and on and stride alongside it with brazen step.

“A deal,” Mark repeated, as quiet as a thought.

They stood in the dark of the room, the silence peeling back layers of itself to extract the unspoken.

The truth welled up from somewhere deep, somewhere hidden and ignored. Terrible, beautiful truth, resurfacing like a deep sea horror. Magnificent awful beast.

Fearful tears began a shameless fall. Free hands found and gripped shaking shoulders, holding tight and fast. 

The memories like high speed silent film casting against the backs of their eyes.

It was always going to end here. No matter what. Horrible, incredible truth.

With a bracing breath, through a sad smile, Ethan asked, “Ready to go?”

Mark nodded, the movement convincing and comforting. “Yes.”

Ethan squeezed Mark’s shoulder. They leaned a little closer to the coffin, a little closer to each other, glad not to be alone in the face of the moment...

And yielded.

The sensation was a rush of bright panic, the adrenaline of second-guess and the fear of a mistake irreversible. 

But as quickly as it enveloped them, the panic dissolved into calm. The peace of trust in another. The sensation of a weight released. 

Freedom.

There was a change. A transmutation of consciousness and body. The instinct to resist faltered beneath the encompassing shadow of the Beautiful and the Inevitable.

The swap had been a blink, a moment of breathlessness like a blissful eternity. Mark and Ethan were there, yes, but as though confined to the fuzzing edges of a recurring dream, like half-sleeping front seat passengers only half aware of their driver, of two new presences sharing the space of their bodies and minds.

Unus and Annus stood side by side. They closed the casket together.

So I woke up on my 20th birthday (29/11) to a new Unus Annus video.... doing my favourite thing.... HELIUM!

Helium is the absolute sh*t and I love it! Hearing @markiplier and @crankgameplays speak on helium just honestly added to the joy that was my birthday.

Im not sure who was funnier to listen to, Mark or Ethan, but I think the best part was hearing the voice gradually return to normal!
