the nerd at the aquarium
𪟠aquarium worker!ellie williams x f!reader
you take your nephew to your cityâs aquarium where you met her crouched next to your nephew after having run off in excitement
tw: not proofread, fluff, strangers to lovers, loser!ellie, modern!au, first kiss, holding hands
wc â 1.3k ⢠MASTERLIST ⢠next part
Your sister handed himâyour nephewâover, mouthing a thank you before leaving out the front doorâheading into the car with her husband. With a four day trip, they needed someone to watch over their son. It was an easy set up, so you agreed and here you are nowâyour nephew held in your hands. Heâs just over four years old, and honestly is really easy to babysit.
You set him down on the floor, crouching to hold onto his handsâeyes set on his, âhey, I got a fun plan for us today. Wanna hear?â
He was immediately a fan of the idea, no shocker there. Eyes sparkling at the idea of seeing the animals there. For you, it would be a field dayâenjoying seeing the animals and spending time with him before coming back for bed. Your sister gave you money to use however you wish. The first payment was the entry tickets.
He had a grin on his face from where he sat in the backseat, feet kicking as he asked all sorts of questions. Unfortunately you only knew the answer to like three of them. You helped him out, walking with him towards the entrance where the spell of fish hit the both of you hard. His little nose scrunched and you were lying if you said yours didnât either.
âDamn this smell,â you whisper, reaching into your bag for the tickets you printed earlier.
âDamn!â
âNo,â you point at him, ânonono, donât say thatâespecially around your mom.â
He moved on the second he saw what was behind the two front doors. If it werenât for your hand holding onto his, he wouldâve had ran away for sure.
âOh myâyes I know but we gotta scan these tickets first, or else weâre like trespassing or some shit.â
âShit?â
You smiled to the lady who scanned your tickets, avoiding the pointed look she gave you. It was fine.
âDonât say that,â you walk him through, goosebumps appearing from the chill in the air once you were inside. The smell got worse, twenty times worseâbut it was gorgeous inside. Dark and blue, light sea sounds playing from the speakers above. Your nephew was having a field day, jumping and dragging you towards the first thing.
âBuddy, buddyâthatâs a cut out. We have to go up the stairs, can you come climb these with me?â
He does, but instead he jumps up each one. The start to the exhibits were general fish, smaller circular exhibits. He was captured by the sights, eyes darting around at each fish swimming by. You sit down to his height, looking at the exhibit before looking to him, âwhat fish is your favorite?â
âNemo.â
Ah yeah, there lied the orange and black fishâswimming towards the bottom. He quickly moved onto the next, little feet moving fast and helping him reach the jellyfish. He kept putting his nose on each glass, and each time you reached a finger out to push him back just a little.
About forty minutes in, and what you had hoped wouldnât happen did happen. Itâs bound toâwith an attention span so short and even shorter legs that keep him hidden in the crowds. He was lost. One second he was standing beside you, the next he ran back and through a gathered crowd.
âShit,â you curse, spinning to stand and run in the direction he went. You shoved a little too roughly at a few people, but it was worth it to you in your mind. The calm orchestra music over the speakers was the opposite of how you felt, heart racing in your chest.
Turns out he thought each orange and black fish was a Nemo fishâbecause there he stood at another exhibit, staring at a larger orange fish. As you got closer, you saw the other figure beside him. Her eyes were just as bright as his, full of passion. Her hair was tied back, half-in-halfâleaving bangs to hang in her face.
âNemo,â he exclaimed, looking back to her.
She points lower, âthatâs Nemo, but thatâheâs a Butterflyfish.â
âButterfly.â
Her attention shifts to you as you get closer, the light reflecting off the room brings attention to the details on her faceâand wowâŚ
âHe yours?â
âYes,â you back up, âwell not mine, heâs my sisterâs but Iâm babysitting him, so mine sorta yeah.â
She has a comedic expression after listening to your terrible story, âuh huh, okay.â
It goes quiet for a second, filled with awkward silence. You sigh, âthank you for, keeping him here.â
She stands, and it brings attention to the name tag on her shirt, âno worries.â
âOh shit you work here?â
âShit!â
Your nephew repeats and, âEllie,â as her name tag reads looks to you with the same pointed look the ticket scanning employee did. You wave her off.
âWell I wonder where he learned that.â
You cross your arms, âhis mother.â
He gives you out, turning to point at you. Ellie huffs, âwow turns out heâs not on your side, a true opp.â
You grab a hold of his hand, crouching down again and resting your knees against the small step set in front of the aquarium for the kids.
âHow long have you worked here?â
âFour years.â
âDamn, thatâs a longââ
âDamn!â
Ellie laughs, and holy hell itâs glorious. You point at your nephew again, âplease I beg donât say that around your mom. It was a slip of the tongue.â
âHow long is she gone?â
You shrug, âlike four days, weâll see.â
She hums, reaching back into her pocket, âwell I have to go lead this like tour. It was nice to meet you bothâbut I gtg.â
It definitely wasnât a coincidence when you showed up to the same aquarium a day later. There was a special guest exhibit too, you had a reason. It totally explained the way your eyes darted around looking for someone.
Turns out Ellie was at the exhibit, a stingray one. She was standing inside, explaining something to these parents. She did end up noticing you, eyes lighting up similarly to how they did the other day. Felt good to know she was also looking forward to seeing you again sometime.
âEllie,â you call, and right after your nephew did.
âElsa!â
You pick him up, âheâs leaning. Howâs your shift?â
âItâs going, Iâm glad to work a different section. Whyâre you back?â
For you..?
âFor the new exhibit, plus the discountâhe loves this place too, itâs just fun.â
She nods, fidgeting with her name tag on her shit. For some reason everything in you just begged to be honest with her. Seems like she had the same idea, lips moving to speak just as you did.
âNo you go,â you sound, adjusting your nephew on your hip.
âI, wow fuck. This is unprofessional as shit, but can I get your number?â
You smile and it brightens her face again, a shy grin appearing on hers.
âYes, Iâd love to.â
Turns out youâd be visiting the aquarium a lot more from now on. Your nephew tagged along often, but there were days you went aloneâsitting in the larger exhibits after hours, Ellie rambling about random information on the animals swimming around behind the giant glass.
Took some time, but eventually your pinkies would connectâsliding to touch one another. Her rambling would eventually slow and her breathing would even out when she looked to see how you were looking at her.
She exhales, âwhat?â
âNothing,â you say behind a smile, voice quieter than a whisper, âjust want to kiss you.â
Her eyes flicker down, chest rising quicker as her mind fills with nerves of whatâs to come. Youâre doing the same, eyes focused on her as you inch closer. The sting music playing in the back growing louder when your lips connect. When they connect again, her fingers moves to encase yours, thumb rubbing softly over the back of your hand.

Too Much in Common | Eddie Munson X F!Henderson!Reader
Summary: After Dustin brings Eddie home for a D&D campaign, you find yourself enjoying his company more frequently than expected.
Word Count: 5.2k
Warnings: 18+ mdni, drug use (marijuana), smut, kinda automatic dubcon since they're both fried?, fingering, a lil praise, eddieâs just a lil obsessed
A/N: it hasnât been explicitly stated yet but reader is adopted. hopefully i actually post a part two in a timely manner.
part two | finale | tmic masterlist
The rumbling of Eddieâs van ceased in the Hendersonsâ driveway as he turned the key back in the ignition. He was surprised, however, when the metal thrum of a guitar continued despite his radio now being off. Opening his door, he recognized âN.I.B.â by Black Sabbath and realized it was coming from inside, making his eyebrows furrow in confusion.Â
He made his way to the front door, not bothering to knock beforehand since Dustin was expecting him and the kidâs mom wasnât home. âSince when did you get a taste in music, Henderson?â He called over the music blaring from the sound system in the living room. A door around the corner slammed open much more forcefully than necessary and the aforementioned freshman barreled out of his bedroom.Â
âItâs my sister!â He shouted back. âShe said I could have you guys over while Mom is gone if I didnât bitch while she was in charge, but APPARENTLY THAT MEANS MAKING ME GO DEAF!âÂ
Eddie could just barely make out your muttered âoh pleaseâ as you entered from the kitchen. You turned down the volume until the sound could be considered background noise. âIf anyone here is gonna go deaf, itâs me from your constant shrieking.â Distressed jeans hugged the curve of your waist perfectly and the Poison t-shirt you had on looked soft from numerous wears. He tried not to stare, but he was sure he looked like a cartoon characterâ bugging, heart-shaped eyes and jaw hitting the floor. He almost missed it when you acknowledged him. âMunson. I heard you were still running Hellfire. Didnât realize youâd be coming today.â
Oh fuck. You knew him. You knew him? How did you know him? Of course, you had gone to the same school, everybody in Hawkins did, but he would remember meeting a girl like you. Would you be upset with him for not knowing who you are? God, already embarrassing himself and he hasnât even started talkâ
âRelax,â You snorted. âI was a grade under you at Hawkins and I was homeschooled my senior year. We never talked, I wouldnât expect you to remember me. Iâm pretty sure everybody knows about you, though.â And this is when you tell him to get out of your house and stay away from your kid brother because heâs a drug-dealing, Satan-worshipping freak. âItâs nice youâre still running the D&D club, sounds like everything else there gets worse every year.âÂ
Some of the tension in his muscles slipped away and he realized heâd been subtly bracing himself. âOhââ The doorbell rang and Dustin ran to get it, welcoming in Mike and Lucas who were already amicably bickering louder than necessary. Behind them trailed the two others they had ridden with, Jeff and Gareth if you remembered correctly. They seemed a little uncomfortable holding a session in a new house, but relaxed drastically when they set eyes on Eddie. âUhâ you guys can go ahead down to the basement with the freshmeat. Iâll be down in a sec, alright?â They nodded, waving politely to you before following the boys.
When they were gone, you and Eddie locked eyes again. âSeriously, Iâm glad Dusty has someone watching out for him. He takes more shit than he deserves. Just try to be a good role model, alright? If I find out you give that kid Special K or some shit, itâs fucking over for you. Got it?â
âI would never let anything bad happen to those kids when theyâre with me,â He spoke earnestly. âIâm gonna look out for them. If Iâm ever gonna do anything right, itâs that.â
âI believe you, Munson.â You gave him a small smile and nodded towards the basement door. âYou should probably get going. They canât start the game without their dungeon master, right?â
An embarrassed flush fought its way up his neck to his cheeks as you turned towards the hall where your bedroom was. Before you could get more than a couple of steps though, he gently grasped your wrist. âHey uh, by the wayâ I just wanted you to know that I donât reallyâ I donât do any hard stuff anymore. Havenât in a while. I hardly even sell it anymore and I stopped selling to first-timers.â
âIâm sorry, Eddie, I didnât mean toââ
âNo, donât worry about it. I totally get it, I just wanted to let you know; for your peace of mind, I guess. You deserve to know who your baby brotherâs hanging around with, I donât want you to think Iâm too bad an influence.â
âI donât think youâre too bad, Munson. Just a healthy amount.â You gave his own wrist a small squeeze as you slipped your hand from his and finally went back to your own room. He gazed after you momentarily, even after your door had closed. If the guys were still present, they would definitely be giving him shit.
As if on cue, he heard Dustinâs muffled shout from the basement. âEddie, hurry the hell up!â
You were sitting on the front porch swing lighting a joint when his beat-up van pulled up two nights later. âSeek & Destroyâ poured from his cracked-open windows until his door opened and he set foot on your driveway once again. âHeâs not here, yâknow,â You called to him.
âThatâs alright, I actually just needed toââ Eddie was halfway between you and his van when he caught a whiff of a particularly familiar scent. A shocked, teasing grin slowly spread across his face. âHenderson, are you smoking marijuana right now?âÂ
In spite of yourself, you let out a laugh, coughing around a lungful of smoke in the process. âSay it a little louder, Munson, I donât think the deafening Metallica got the neighborsâ attention.âÂ
Laughing, he dropped into the space next to you on the swing. âI didnât peg you for the smoking type.â
âOh, you mean from the three minutes we interacted?â You squinted playfully but held the joint out to him. âJust weed, I donât fuck with anything else personally.â
He took you up on the offer, calloused fingertips brushing your skin as he took the joint from you. Examining it for a moment, he smirked as he took a hit. âFuckinâ with it pretty hard, apparently,â He breathed out. âYou roll almost as good as I do.â
âGood, then you can roll the next one.â It passes between you as you speak, though Eddie tries to keep his turns short out of courtesy. âWhich brings us back to the topic of why youâre here mooching my shit. You said you needed to do something?â
âRight, I uh- I forgot my lucky dice here the other night. I figured Iâd pick âem up on my way home from The Hideout.âÂ
âOh yeah, youâre in a band or something, right?âÂ
âSince middle school,â He nodded, âJust me and a few guys from school, sâcalled Corroded Coffin.â
âSounds metal.â
âWe try to,â He chuckled.
âYou like Black Sabbath and Metallica, youâd better,â You teased. You didnât notice the way his eyes followed your every move as you smoked. The way your cheeks hollowed ever so slightly as you sucked in a hit, how your breath hitched and your eyes fell closed as you held it in. The corners of his lips curled up in amusement watching you blow Os while conversation lulled for a moment. Offering him one last hit first, you stub out the roach on the ground and stand from your seat. âCâmon in, you can go get your dice.â
âThanks,â He hummed, grabbing the door as soon as it was open to hold it for you.Â
âHave you eaten?â You ask, heading into the kitchen as he made his way toward the basement door. âI havenât, I was gonna make a sandwich or something. You want one?â
âThatâd be great, actually, thank you.â The dice werenât hard to find seeing as heâd left them there on purpose. So maybe it was a little weird, definitely a little desperate, but he wanted to make sure he had another opportunity to see youâ get his foot in the door, so to speakâ and he really hadnât expected all this. Heâd hoped youâd be the one to answer the door and heâd get to make small talk for a few minutes, point out your shared taste in music maybe, but this? Catching you alone, sharing a joint, getting invited in for something to eat? This was going better than he couldâve possibly expected.
âFind âem?â You called down.
âYup!â He jogged back up the stairs, waving the small velvet bag as he joined you in the kitchen. âAll good.â
âWhat a relief. Canât have the dungeon master thrown off his game, that would be a travesty.â You glanced up at him mischievously as you finished making the first sandwich, scooting the plate across the counter to him.
Eddie suppressed a smile, shaking his head as he picked up the sandwich. âYou just love teasinâ me with that, donât you?â He asked before he took what was probably an unattractively large bite.
âDepends on what kind of teasing weâre talking about, Munson.â You drawled casually in return, turning to continue making your own. Meanwhile, it was an effort just for him to keep his food in his mouth without choking on it. You were flirting with him.
Werenât you? Maybe you werenât. Maybe youâd meant it the other way aroundâ that youâd only tease him in a joking way and that youâd never want toâ
âEddie, I can see the smoke coming out of your ears,â You snorted. âStop thinking so hard, youâre gonna hurt yourself.â You took a big bite before grabbing a bottle of water out of the fridge. âWant one?â His answer was going to be yes, but you were grabbing him one before he had responded anyway. There was a brief and fairly comfortable silence as you cleaned up the rest of your small mess and he took a few long swigs of his water. âWanna finish these in my room? We could smoke another joint maybeâŚjust chill out, I donât knowâŚâ
âYeah, totally,â He agreed, maybe a little too eagerly.
âYouâre rolling though,â You remind him over your shoulder as he begins to follow you to your bedroom.
The door creaked as you opened it, waiting for him to enter after you so you could close it. As you opened the window wide and lit a stick of incense, he took in his surroundings. Your room wasnât like the average teenage girlâsâ not that Eddie had seen very many of thoseâ not pastel-colored, or frilly, or covered in heartthrob posters, though a few stuffed animals were perched tenderly on your bed. Actually, it was almost more like his, albeit much more organized. There were posters of horror movies and rock bands filling a decent amount of the empty space on your walls, the Dio flag pinned to the ceiling drawing his attention. âOh, that is so sick!â
âI thought you might like some âa this stuff,â You laughed softly. Nodding towards the stereo in the corner, you continued, âYou can put something on if you want.â He squatted down to look through your cassettes, hearing your voice move through the room as you got out your bud, tray, and paper. âTry to keep it understated though, alright? Nothing too hard or fast right now.â
âReally tryinâ to mellow out tonight, huh?â He began playfully, but looked back at you as his tone softened a little. âEverything okay?â
âOh, Iâm alright,â You reassure. With the cassette in place, he made sure the volume was low before it began playing softly as you spoke. âI just get a little too pent up sometimes, you know? Everythingâs just been kind of a lot lately, âs why I was already smoking when you showed up.â
âHey, I can beat it if you want. I didnât mean to show up outta the blue at a bad time and I definitely donât have to stick around if you donât want me here. I can totally get it if you want the time to yourselfââ
âPlease stay,â You quietly interrupted, then seemed a little embarrassed. âSorry, I didnâtâ Iâd appreciate the company if you wanna stay a little while.â
Eddie gave you a comforting smile before taking a seat at your vanity to roll the joint, trying to lighten the mood. âCareful what you wish for, Henderson. I mean, youâve got good music, good weed, made me dinner; I might be hanginâ around here more often with this kinda treatment. Youâve got me livinâ the life, babe.â
Laying down on your bed to watch him, your voice was more serious than he expected when you replied. âYouâre welcome any time, you know. Mom likes when the house is busy and I donât know if youâve noticed, but Dustin practically worships the ground you walk on.â His rings glinted in the lamplight as he carefully sprinkled the bud onto the paper.
âYeah? And whatâs your review, hm?â You didnât mean to stare at the way his lips wrapped around the joint or how his tongue traced the seam of the paper to seal it.
You hummed vaguely as he finished up, gently plucking it from between his fingers when he was done. Dramatically inspecting it much longer than he had yours, you finally say, âYou roll clean joints.â
He shakes his head and laughs. Your lips close around the paper, feeling the seam still damp with his spit, and you jut your chin toward his lighter on the vanity. Grabbing it without a word, he leans forward to give you a light. Your gaze catches on his rings once more before lifting to his face again. A reflection of the flame makes the brown of his eyes warmer as they lock with yours, looking up from where you still lay on the bed on your stomach. You take a long pull as he draws the lighter away again and the spell is broken.
Sitting up to breathe the smoke in deeper, you tuck your knees under you. Eddie joins you on your bed, but not before he kicks off his shoes by the bedroom door. He sits cross-legged just in front of your pillows so you shuffle around to face him. âSo, how was your concert?â
He snorted, âConcert might be a bit heavy. Gig is a little more accurate. Show maybe.â
You roll your eyes, but keep your tone light and pass the joint. âYouâre a loser, you know that? You knew exactly what I was talking about, answer the question.â
âIt was pretty good I guess,â He shrugged and took a long hit. âI think there may have been a whole seven people this time. And one of them was even sober!â
You smiled sympathetically, âYouâre just in the wrong town. Donât worry, Iâll come watch you play. I donât know if thatâd be a good atmosphere for the boys, but I could probably force Steve, Nancy, and Robin to come.
He twisted one of his rings around his finger for a moment. âThatâs really nice, sweetheart.â
With each toke you both took, the joint burned slightly shorter until it was almost completely gone. âYou want the last hit?â you asked. âI finished the last one. And you rolled this one anyway.â
âNo, thatâs alright. Itâs your weed; Iâm literally a drug dealer, Iâve got plenty at home.â
âHere,â You took one last long drag and he raised an eyebrow in confusion, but he understood when you sat up further on your knees and leaned toward him. A sense of giddy excitement overtook him for a second, nerves probably heightened from the weed, but he kept his composure. When your lips slotted over his, he took a deep breath in. His hand slid into your hair to keep your head steady as you sighed the smoke into his mouth. Your lips grazed over his afterward, very obviously lingering long after it was necessary. You giggled as you slumped down into a laying position, letting your head fall back into his lap.
âSeems like someoneâs a lot more relaxed now,â He cooed playfully.
âSorry, I can get off âf youââ He notices how your voice is slightly rougher after smoking so much.
âHey, noââ His hands settle warmly over your shoulders, not holding you down so much as they were encouraging you to stay put. âItâs alright, baby. You can get comfy, youâre not bothering me.â
His hands soothed up and down your arms as you settled back in. âThat feels really nice.â You hummed quietly and it drew out into another giggle, âEverything feels really nice.â
He laughs a little airily himself, âIt does, doesnât it?â Your skin felt so soft and warm beneath his fingertips, tracing imaginary shapes along the bare flesh of your arms. ââM feelinâ pretty good, myself.â Your eyes couldnât help but wander to his pretty pink lips again. Theyâd felt so soft against yours and you wanted moreâ to really feel him this time. His thumb brushes your chin, dragging down in a way that had your mouth opening slightly. âWhatâre you thinkinâ so hard about, sweet thing?â
Blinking up at him with glassy eyes, you raised an arm to brush your fingers over his flushed cheek. âEddie, cân you kiss me? Please?â
âYeah?â He moved his thumb a bit higher to tug your lower lip down a bit, face dipping down a bit closer to yours. âThat what you want?â You were nodding before he even finished his sentence, making him chuckle quietly.Â
He allowed his lips to graze teasingly over yours, just barely touching, before finally kissing you. His nose brushed your chin and you could feel the small smile adorning his face before your lower lip was sucked softly between his. Fingers winding into his mess of frizzy curls, you moaned quietly into his mouth and pulled him closer. After another moment though, he slowly drew back, lips separating from yours with a soft smack that made you unreasonably desperate for more.
An ache had sparked in his lower back while loading the amps into the van after their show earlier that evening, deepening as he proceeded to help load the rest of the equipment afterward. Now the deep curve he had molded it to in order to keep his mouth on yours had the pain radiating up his entire back. âAs much as Iâm enjoying thisâ and believe me, babe, Iâm seriously enjoying itâ my back is kinda killinâ me and hunching over you like thisâŚâ 95% of his brain was screaming at him to shut the fuck up, to ignore it and just keep kissing you breathless anyway, but the other 5% was crying out to lay down and he had to listen.
âOh, sorry,â There was a slight pant in your voice as you released your grasp on his hair. He sat up slowly as if a movement too fast would shatter the calm in the air. You sat up yourself, watching as he eased himself back onto your pillows. âSâthat better?â
âWay better,â He confirmed. âWe can uh- we could keep kissing if you want.â
Openly cringing at how awkward that sounded, he opened his mouth to say something else before you interrupted him with a still-sluggish giggle. âIâd like that, Eddie.â Â
âOkay,â He nodded rapidly.Â
Leaning forward onto your hands and knees, you crawled into his lap. His hands instantly settled on your thighs, running up and down the material of your pajama pants. His eyes flickered wildly over your body a few times before gazing up at you in awe. You didnât waste any time in kissing him again, which was much easier now that he wasnât upside down. As you moaned into his mouth, his hands molded to your hips, squeezing and pulling you as tight to him as he could get you. His tongue slipped between your lips, making them open further as your hands found his hair once again.Â
He didnât mean to start moving, slowly grinding into you in an attempt to relieve the tightness in his jeans that definitely wasnât a problem before he came overâ but then you were rocking down on him yourself, clothed cunt rubbing against him in a desperate search for friction. Hips rutting up into yours, he braced a palm against your lower back. You could feel his hardness pressing into you through the layers of clothing between you. Pulling back for air, you panted into his mouth, still subtly grinding against him. âFuck,â He grunted quietly. The soft whimper of his name that you gave him in return made his head fall back against the wall with a thud. âGot me so fuckinâ hard, sweet thing. Please, donât stop.â
âDonât wanna stop,â You whined back quietly. âFeels so good.âÂ
âGood,â He cooed. âDonât worry, âm gonna keep makinâ you feel good.â Hot, open-mouthed kisses moved down your neck and you let out a moan. His fingers wormed their way past the hem of your shirt, tracing the cup of your bra. âThis okay?â He mumbled against your skin. Nodding, you cupped his hand and guided it higher until he pushed your bra out of the way. The pad of his thumb brushed firmly over your nipple, making your hips jerk against his. âMmm, so sensitive. Is that jusâ the weed or are you always like this?â
âBoth,â You breathed out. ââN youâre good at all this.â
âAw you donât have to butter me up, baby,â He grinned. âIâm gonna make you cum either way.â Free hand dipping past the waistband of your pajama pants, Eddie continued playfully, âBut, go on. Keep tellinâ me how much I turn you on.â
âEddie,â You pleaded, âCâmon.âÂ
Fingers stroking the damp fabric of your underwear, he asked, âThis okay? Really want me to touch you?â Your desperate nods made his lips curl, pressing more firmly against you and drawing out a moan that you tried to stifle. âNo, no, no, you gotta tell me how it feels, sweet thing. Weâre all alone, you can make those pretty noises, itâs okay.â
Your head slumped into the crook of his neck, mouthing lazily at his skin. Nudging your underwear to the side, he sank his middle finger knuckle-deep into you. Grasping tightly at the worn material of his t-shirt, your breath hitched. âMmm, fuckâ yes, Eddie, thank you.â
âLook at you, usinâ your manners ân everything. Of course, you would. Such a good girl.â Your moans only grew louder, making his hips jerk in search of friction. âSo warm and wet, bet youâd feel so good around my cock.â Lifting your head to kiss him again, your hand found the shape of his length in his jeans. He rolled his thumb over your clit in circles as his hips rocked against your palm. Mouths open against each otherâs, you exchanged panting breaths and muffled moans. Confined by your pants, his hand didnât have much room for movement, leaving your hips stuttering frustratedly. âLemme get these offâa you, babe. Can make you feel so much better than this.â
Suddenly, his hand was curled under your thigh and you let out a small squeal as you were flipped onto your back beneath him. Your pants and underwear were yanked down your legs feverishly, Eddie parting them to slip two fingers into you this time. âShit, Eds!â
âFuck, Iâm sorry, was that too much?â Immediately, he tried to withdraw his hand, but you gripped his wrist to stop him.Â
âDonât stop, Eddie. Please, donât stop,â You rushed.
âAlright, sweetheart, âm right here. Donât worry.â Your hands laced into his hair for stability as his fingers crooked into a spot that almost made your eyes cross. Already dripping onto your bedspread, you pulled him even closer to you. Smirk spreading across his face, he said, âOh yeah. Thatâs the spot, huh, baby?â
âFuck, Eddie, youâre gonna make me come,â You whined.
âGood, want you to soak my fingers.â His hips rocked forward, clothed cock grinding into the back of your thigh. âWanna feel you come for me.â The way his thumb rubbed so firmly against your clit had heat shooting all the way to your toes. Desperately tugging him down for another kiss, your thighs trembled as they squeezed closed around his hand. âThere it is,â He murmured lowly against your lips. âMmm, youâd feel so fuckinâ good coming around my cock, sweet thing.â The deep cadence of his voice had you shaking.
Grasping at the back of his shirt, you buried your face in the crook of his neck. He held you in silence for a long moment until your head eventually dropped back against the bed. A smile slowly grew on your face as you looked up at him and you let out a small giggle, making him grin down at you. He laughed softly too as he pressed his forehead against yours.Â
Eyes darting shortly to the alarm clock on your nightstand, you did a double-take when you noticed how late it was. âSon of a bitch, my momâs gonna be home any minute!â You grabbed your discarded underwear and pajama pants from the foot of the bed as soon as Eddie had peeled himself off of you. âUhâ fuck, Iâm really sorry. I promise I didnât mean to invite you in just for this, I just didnât realize how late it got. I didnât mean to leave you hanging, butââ
âAre you kidding?â He was already leaning against the wall by your door, slipping on his beat-up air forces. âI had a blast, babe. We should do this again sometime,â He winked teasingly.
You rolled your eyes half-heartedly, feeling your body warm. When the two of you reached the front door, you rubbed your arm and met his eyes only a bit awkwardly. âIâm sorry again about notâŚreturning the favor.â
He chuckled, giving you a small smirk. âDonât worry about me, sweet thing. After tonight, Iâll have no trouble taking care of it myself.â Taking a step closer to you, he leaned down for a kiss that was much slower and softer than the last few youâd shared. âIâll see you soon, yeah?â
âNight, Eddie. Thanks for keeping me company tonight.â
âAnytime.â
You waited at the door until heâd gotten in his van and driven away before finally heading back to your room. As soon as you closed your bedroom door and flopped down on your bed, you heard your momâs car pull into the driveway. Meanwhile, Eddie drove home, foot a little heavy on the gas pedal as he itched to get back to his own room.
He didnât see you again for two weeks. He knew the Hendersonsâ phone number, but there was no way he could ask for you if Dustin or your mom picked up. So he waited, very impatiently mind you, and hoped he hadnât ruined things by going so far with you so fast.Â
When he did finally see you, it was at Hawkins High School. Youâd come to pick Dustin up from that weekâs Hellfire club meeting. You knocked on the door before entering, knowing thatâ despite the session being scheduled to end ten minutes agoâ they often ran over their allotted time. Sure enough, you heard Eddieâs booming voice as you cracked open the door and slipped inside.
âAnd as the chimera flew closerââ When he noticed you he immediately straightened from his position looming over the table, clearing his throat and clasping his hands together behind his back. He didnât want to scare you off with all this yet. âOkay gentlemen, thatâs all for today.â The collective groan they let out had you feeling a bit guilty, theyâd obviously been enjoying themselves, and now you were being the annoying big sister; you shouldâve just waited in the car. But Eddie was quick to speak again. âOh, cut the moaning. Weâre almost fifteen minutes over and you all need more time to prepare for battle anyway. Amateurs.â
As the others all packed up their things, he approached you and you greeted him with a smile. âSorry for interrupting, seemed pretty intense, I hope it wasnât too important.â
âNo, no, itâs good you came in. We wouldâve been all caught up until someone else came in to stop us in a much less forgiving manner.â You both laughed and it went quiet for a moment before he cleared his throat again. âSo uh, Iâve been hoping Iâd see you around.â
âYeah, me too⌠Smoking alone isnât as fun anymore.â
His lips quirked up into a smirk and he nodded playfully. âYeah, âve been thinking the same. You should start buying from me, you know. Iâll give you a discount.â
âOh, so I have to pay you to smoke with you again? You know, we used my shit last time,â You teased.
âYouâll never pay for anything you smoke when youâre with me, sweetheart. Iâm a gentleman after all. Here, hang on.â He dashed back to the table, hunching over to write something down before tearing off the small scrap of paper and coming back to you. âNow you can get a hold âa me, come smoke all my weed anytime.â
âOh, Iâll be taking you up on that.â
Your comfortable conversation was interrupted when Dustin shouted your name. âWhatâre you doing? Letâs go!â
âIâll see you around, Munson.â
âSure thing, Henderson.âÂ
As you drove Dustin home, you couldnât help but wonder if it was a bad idea to get involved with Eddie. He was one of Dustinâs best friends now, a mentor for him, one of the only male role models heâs had aside from Steve since he lost his father. The last thing you wanted was to make Dustin feel like you were taking that away from him. God forbid something should happen between you and Eddie and he doesnât feel comfortable coming around anymore. You couldnât do that to him.Â
Still, you found yourself hunkered over the phone in the living room that night. You tried to hold out, you really did, but you only managed to hold yourself back until almost midnight after your family had gone to bed. Coiling the cord around your finger, you waited impatiently as the phone rang three times.
When he finally picked up, you could hear the smirk in his tone. âHi, sweet thing. Just couldnât stay away, could you?â
âWell, I figured I was running low on bud anyway,â You drawled quietly.Â
âYouâre awful quiet,â He teased. âDonât want Mommy to catch you up on the phone so late?â
âFuck off,â You scoffed playfully. âIf youâre having so much trouble hearing me over the phone, why donât you come over?â
âOh, so she minds a phone call, but itâs okay if we have a sleepover?â He snorted.Â
âNo, but if youâre quiet you can sneak in and back out before she wakes up to get ready for work. Iâve got twenty bucks calling your name,â You cooed enticingly.
âSeriously?â
"Come on, Munson, you've never climbed through a girl's window before? I'm disappointed."
He simply replied, "I'll be there in fifteen, make sure it's unlocked."

notes: JK is 22, OC is 21, Tsuki is Jungkookâs sister, secret relationship, mentions of a nsfw Polaroid, I love them đ (not proof read yet!)
âĄď¸âĄď¸âĄď¸âĄď¸âĄď¸âĄď¸
Best Friendâs Older Brother JK who happened to always be around when you come over to hang out with his sister, Tsuki, even though he had a job and was an active final year university student
Best Friendâs Older Brother JK who would keep a constant eye on you two so the second Tsuki would step out of a room heâd make his way to you and grab your waist before kissing you with all his might telling you how much he misses and needs you
Best Friendâs Older Brother JK who knows your whereabouts 24/7 and consistently confuses Tsuki when heâs aware where youâre at but she doesnât
âUgh Y/N left her work jacket here. Iâm gonna go to her place before she goes in,â Tsuki, grabbing her keys, making her way to the front door is stopped when her brother answers, âSheâs already working,â nonchalantly while cutting up some fruit he craved.
Tsuki stood frozen with her hand on the door knob before slowly turning back to face Jungkook with her eyebrows furrowed.
âWhat?â
With a subtle panic Jungkook quickly fixes his composure and replies, âUh I ran into her earlier and she told me she was called in to cover someoneâs last hour,â avoiding eye contact he clears his throat hoping itâs enough for his sister to not ask him anything else.
âOkay well regardless Iâm still gonna take it to her and probably grab a bite to eat. You want anything?â Jungkook shakes his head waiting for the second Tsuki walks out the door to run to his phone and text you.
Koo đ: baby my sister is on her way to your work
Koo đ: just take off my sweater before she gets there sweetheart
Best Friendâs Older Brother JK who lies to his entire family before going on their annual family vacation that he was feeling a little under the weather in order for his parents and sister to leave him home alone. His parents and Tsuki reluctantly leaving him alone with little worry. Tsuki texting you the day of.
Tsuki my babyđ¤: hey babe you think you can go check in on Jk later today? Heâs not feeling the hottest đ
Your phone pings moving your attention from your boyfriendsâ lips to your screen. Reading the text makes you giggle peaking your sweet Jungkookâs attention as he reads the screen. If only his sister knew the second his familyâs car was out of view he had already called you to come over with a duffel bag full of clothes enough for 4 days and 3 nights.
Best Friendâs Older Brother JK who carries a Polaroid he took of you in quite the intimate moment. You laying on his bed on your back, his cock clearly deep in you with your face showing nothing but pleasure.
âPleaseee I just want an energy drink!â Tsuki begging Jungkook for the nth time to buy her a drink. She didnât have the best sleep the night before due to staying up all night trying to finish a paper she put off until the last minute. Her brother refusing to because âenergy drinks arenât good for youâ.
âIâll buy. Iâm craving some gummy bears,â youâre heard from the back seat as Jungkook parks the car in front of the store.
âReally?â Tsukiâa face lighting up with joy before her brother takes out his wallet handing it to you.
âItâs fine. Here,â his sister staring awkwardly at his hand extended to you instead of his own blood relative before snatching it making him panic.
âGive it back,â his tone was supposed to be stern but his sister unbuckles her seatbelt before leaving the car with the promise of grabbing your desired snack as well.
âAre you trying to be obvious baby?â you giggle hitting his shoulder lightly.
âSweetheart I suggest you chase after Tsuki right now and grab my wallet,â
âWhat? Why? Sheâs just gonna get snacks,â
âYour Polaroid is in there,â
âThe one you took of us at our picnic date?â already in a slight panic you get ready to catch up to your friend.
âNo, the one where Iâm fucking you raw,â he says it like itâs almost nothing before laughing when you whine his name and get out of the car as fast as you could to get your boyfriendâs wallet out of his sisterâs grip.
Best Friendâs Older Brother JK who pokes the inside of his cheek when his sister tries to talk you into a date with a guy from her graphic design class.
âOh heâs so dreamy! Besides you need some,â she stirs the pancake mix sheâs preparing for her best friend and brother.
Her brother, with his eyes on his phone screen, trying to block out his sisterâs intention of setting up his girlfriend with another guy. Clearly not being able to when he slams him phone on the table placing all his attention to your conversation.
âWhy donât you date him then?â Jungkook says before you could even answer her previous suggestion.
âNo. Seongmin is cute but heâd be way better with Y/N. I mean he did ask for your name last week when you walked me to class,â she smiles and winks at you before turning to the stove ready to make the delicious breakfast.
âHe did?â your response made Jungkook look at you clearly reading why do you care?
âHe did! Oh Y/N youâre so getting a boyfriend,â your friends excitement was cute but your boyfriend who had a pout on his cute face made you melt.
âI donât think I need one,â getting up from your chair you give a quiet kiss to Jungkookâs temple and make your way to help Tsuki.
Jungkookâs cheek a shade of pink while his pout disappears and is replaced with a cheeky smile.

united in grief.
f1 au/fic: in which, youâre jules bianchiâs little sister. youâre the same age as charles and grew up with him, when jules passed away your world completely fell apart, and you left monaco for paris. eight years after julesâs death you finally decide to comeback to monaco to visit your old friend.
charles leclerc x bianchi!reader.
fc: madison beer.
warnings: mention of jules bianchi, grief, angst, fluff.
note: happy eighth heavenly birthday, jules, we will always love and remember you, champion đ¤
y/n just posted a story!
caption: missed you monaco đ¤
_
you really thought about going back for a while, you missed you life in monaco so much. all your friends were here, your family was here, even after julesâs death they stayed, but you couldnât. every step you took in the luxurious city reminded you of your brother. his presence was everywhere. you were seventeen when you lost jules, he was your whole world, you always wished you were the one in that car. you left monaco for paris because you needed a fresh start in a new city where you could walk without feeling the peopleâs eyes on you. but a small part of your heart wondered if leaving monaco meant that you were abandoning jules too. he was buried there after all, his soul was now forever in monaco and you were leaving to run away from him.
but your parents reassured you, and told you to fly with your own wings, to find your way, that no matter what jules would be proud of you, and would follow you because he was now your guardian angel. that reassured you a lot since your worst fear was to disappoint him. but your parents were right, jules was an angel when he was still here, and heâs still one up there. so whenever you felt bad, defeated, sad, you knew jules was around you, that gave you the strength to stand up and stay strong. you had to, for your brother. to make him proud.
thatâs why you decided to attend todayâs race. the monaco grand prix, your brotherâs home race. he loved that circuit so much because he knew his friends and family were watching him and cheering for him. you came back without telling anyone, but of course your mother had to tell pascale, so the elderly woman immediately called you to invite you to have lunch with her and lorenzo, her oldest son. you couldnât say no, because you missed the leclerc, but also because you knew how much you leaving hurt them. you left without saying goodbye, it was too hard for you, so once julesâs funeral was over, you packed your bag and left.
pascale and lorenzo welcomed you with open arms and big smiles, the mother apologised for charles and arthurâs absence but they were busy. charles⌠you were glad he wasnât here because you didnât know how youâd be able to look him in the eye. "you should go to the grand prix with us." lorenzo had told you, with his usual warm smile. at first you refused, but after thinking it over you realised that you owned it to charles, you left him behind when he was also mourning. of course it was harder for you since he was your brother, but jules was everything to charles. his second older brother, he was also lorenzoâs best friend. you hated yourself for being such a selfish coward. guilt was eating you alive and lorenzo noticed it. "donât be too hard on yourself y/n, jules isnât going to be happy." he smiled and you had to fight back your tears.
so you came with the leclerc to charlesâ home race, you knew that your presence would be the only talk in town and on the internet. "oh my god, y/n!" someone yelled from behind you and you smiled when you saw âlittle arthurâ like you called him back then. he ran to you and made you spin in his arms. you laughed and brushed his hair when he finally put you down. "look at you! where is my little boy?" you asked, still laughing. he flexed his muscles and flashed you a cocky smile before pascale came to hit him in the head. "where is charles?" she asked. "getting ready in the garage, heâs really nervous, i think you should go say hi." he told you. you immediately took a step back, you were nervous as hell too, but for different reasons than charles. what if he didnât want to see you? what if seeing you ruin his race? what if-⌠"he still talks about you y/n, he misses you so much you have no idea." pascale chimes in, patting your shoulder.
you were in front of charlesâ driver room, you knew that he was just behind it. you could hear voices inside which had to be charles and his teammate. you closed you eyes and knocked three times before waiting. a tall and tan man opened the door for you, he smiled at you and you recognised him as carlos sainz. "isa is waiting for me, see you on track charles." he told charles. "itâs nice seeing you here, y/n." you smiled and watched him go. you took a deep breath before walking into the room. your hands were sweaty and you didnât know where to look. "y/n?" you havenât heard his voice in nearly a decade, so him calling your name startled you. "h-âŚ" you couldnât even finish that charles had closed the gap between you, pulling you in his arms. his face was buried in your neck and his arms were hugging you tightly. you were completely frozen, you didnât expect him to be that affectionate after what you did to him. "charles, iâm so sorry for leaving." tears were now rolling down your cheeks. he broke the hug and immediately wiped your tears.
"sorry for what?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows. his hands rested on your shoulders, his touch soothing you. "iâm not mad at you for leaving, y/n. i just wished i was here with you to help you through the grieving process." he smiled and you looked at the ground. he was too good to you, you didnât deserve it. "you lost jules too, i acted like i was the only one grieving, i didnât realise the impact my brother had on peopleâs lives." charles gently kissed your forehead and stroked your cheek. "letâs talk about that later, let me enjoy your presence, you donât know how much i missed you." he hugged you once again, and this time you wrapped your arms around him, savouring the moment. "my lucky charm is back in town." you couldnât refrain your laugh at his cheesy comment.
_
"and charles leclerc wins the monaco grand prix for the first time in his career!" the whole stadium cheered for the monegasque meanwhile you couldnât stop crying. he won. he won in monaco. it was his goal and he did it. pascale hugged you while cheering for her son, lorenzo and arthur ran to their brother. but you stayed in your seat, looking at him jumping everywhere and celebrating with his brothers and carlos. then, when he turned around to face your direction he did something that sent shivers all over your body. he pointed at you, then at his heart, and then at the sky. this was julesâs celebration every time heâd win something and you were there to support him. he honoured jules even when he finally fulfilled his dream. "jules, you are so loved." you muttered to yourself, looking up at the bright sky.
liked by charles_leclerc, arthurleclerc, philippe_bianchi17 and 2 682 789 others.
y/n: coming back in monaco was hard, but i wanted to be here for charlie, i was scared at first because i knew that i handled my brotherâs death terribly but in eight years i forgot how kind you were. i finally understood why jules loved you so much. congratulations on winning your first grand prix in monaco! iâm so proud of the man you became charles, i know that my brother is proud of you and will always look after you. je tâaime charlie âĽď¸

Followed
Hey! I've had this idea floating around in my head for a little while now and finally got it out on paper. Halstead! Sister is followed while trying to go to a coffee shop. Hope you enjoy reading and stay safe out there y'all, it's a wild world we live in unfortunately.
âWhat are your plans for today?â asked Jay the minute you walked into the kitchen.Â
âWell good morning to youâ you sassily replied while walking to the fridge to grab the milk.Â
You were off from work and had been looking forward to this day since last Monday.Â
âHmm, I was thinking of maybe going and visiting an old friend from the old neighborhood and then maybe get coffee from my favorite spot before returning home and lounging and doing nothingâ you answered while sinking your spoon into your cereal.Â
âSolid plan. Remember if you need me for any reason and I donât answer, call Al.â
âAl?â you questioned when you swallowed your cereal bite. âUsually you tell me to call Hailey.â
Swiping his keys off the counter, Jay looks at you and says, âVoight switched up the partners this week and Iâm with Al while Hailey is with Kevin, so I repeat call Al if you need me and I donât answerâ
âOkayâ you mock saluted.Â
âPick up. Pick up. Come on pick upâ you muttered while your phone was up to your ear and you looked over your shoulder while picking up the pace a bit.Â
âHey this is Detective Jay Halstead, I canât come to the phone right now. Leave your name and number after the beep and Iâll get back to you as soon as possibleâ the familiar voice mail message spoke out into your ear.Â
âFuck!â you muttered while ending the call and picking your pace up a bit more after looking behind you and still seeing the person who had been following you for the past 3 blocks behind you.
âWhatâs a pretty girl like you doing out and bout?â asked the man while also picking up his pace.Â
You ignored him and kept walking. Wondering when the hell you were going to hit 35th street.Â
âAre you headed to work or school?â the man asked when he got shoulder to shoulder with you.Â
You ignored the guy again really wishing your brother would have picked up.Â
Gripping your phone in your sweatshirt pocket you picked up your pace again, walking slightly more ahead of the guy.Â
Pulling your phone out again, you quickly ran through your contacts and clicked on Olinsky before letting it dial.Â
âYouâre really pretty you know that?â the man started again while finally keeping his distance from you but still following you.Â
â36th street⌠36th street place⌠35th street! Finally!â you thought while reading the street signs. Alâs phone also went to voicemail. Meaning they must be at a crime scene or in the car or something.
Turning right onto the street you notice the guy who had been following you for the past 5 blocks is no longer following you but of course you donât get far enough away before you hear, âHave a great day sweetheart! You're gorgeous!â
Visibly shuddering you honestly feel disgusting and donât even want coffee anymore. Mainly because you're shaken up but also because it means you have to be in the area for longer.Â
So you quickly pull your phone out and call a number you didnât exactly want to call.Â
âTrudy?â you sniffled when she picked up.Â
âKid, what's wrong?â she asked on the other side.Â
âIs my brother and Al on a call right now?â
You hear some rustling and then the sound of a buzzer and heavy footsteps before someone speaks again.Â
âY/N? Are you okay?â
âJay!â you all but shout!
âWhatâs wrong?â
âWhy didnât you pick up when I called you? Why didnât Al pick up when I called?â
âIâm sorry, we were doing an interrogation. Whatâs up.â
âUh, can you come get me?â
âWhy? Canât you take the bus? I thought you were visiting a friend and getting coffee?â
âI visited with my friend, it was a good time but I uh got followed and cat called and feel dirty and just want to go homeâ
âCat called? Followed? For how long? Al and I are on our way! Where are you?â
âUh from 37th street all the way to 35th street. Iâm walking up 35th right now. I can wait by that school thatâs right there if thatâs easy enough of a landmark for you guys to find me.â
You hear the car start and doors being shut before you can hear your voice echo.
âKid, we donât care where we pick you up. Wherever makes you feel safest is good enough for us.â you hear Al say.Â
âUh, uh, yea the elementary school should be good. Iâll be on the sidewalk.â you stuttered out while running a hand through your hair.Â
âSounds good, we should be there in 20â replied your brother.Â
âHang in there kidâ added Al before the call ended.Â
The next twenty minutes were the longest twenty minutes of your life. You still felt really dirty and uneasy and just wanted to be in the safety of your brother or even better the safety of your own bed.Â
âHey Y/N, get inâ you heard. You looked up to see Alâs Dodge Magnum car in front of you and your brotherâs window rolled down. Quickly shuffling to your feet you scramble into the back seat and audibly let out a sigh.Â
âYou okay?â your brother asked while turning in his seat to face you.Â
Nodding, you reply, ânow I am, thank you for coming and getting me. Iâm sorry you had to leave work.â
Al pulled into a parking space near Scoops ice cream and stated reassuringly, âKid, youâre family. Meaning you're important to us. No case will ever be too important to come and get you
Smirking, you asked, âLet me guess, are you just saying that cause the guy you guys were interrogating was jamming up and you werenât getting anywhere with them?â
Shaking their heads, Al and Jay looked at each other knowingly.Â
âBut we are being honest kid, if you ever have a problem or encounter again like today you call anyone in intelligence and they will have your back!â
âCopy! Can we get ice cream now?â you chuckled.

Part 1
THE GAME WE PLAY (Part 2) - KENAN YILDIZ
Kenan getting jealous that you are going out with your guy friends
Brotherâs best friend! Kenan Yildiz x fem! reader
︾âżŕ¨âĄďż˝ďż˝ďż˝âżď¸ľâżď¸ľâżŕ¨âĄŕ§âżď¸ľâżď¸ľâżŕ¨âĄŕ§âżď¸ľâż
Kenan had been quiet for most of the day. Too quiet.
Iâd gotten used to him showing up at my house, always trying to flirt or flexâliterally. It was his thing. But today, something felt... off.
Iâd spent the past hour getting readyânothing too fancy, just a cute dress, some light makeup, and my hair loosely done.
The plan was to go out with a group of friends, just a casual night out, but I had a feeling that Kenan wasnât exactly thrilled about it.
âBro, come on! You seriously think this is a good idea?â Kenanâs voice had that desperate, almost pleading tone I wasnât used to hearing from him. âI mean, youâre cool with her going out like this? With guys?â
I stopped mid-lip gloss application and tilted my head, listening closer. Was Kenan really getting worked up over this?
Alex, as usual, sounded completely unbothered. âDude, sheâs an adult. She can do whatever she wants.â
âThatâs not the point!â Kenan groaned, and I could practically hear him pacing the room.
âYouâre really okay with her going out dressed up? You know there are going to be guys there whoââ
âWho what?â Alex cut him off, sounding more amused than concerned. âWho are gonna hit on her? So what? She can handle it.â
I had to cover my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Kenan was really panicking.
I took one last glance at myself in the mirror. Apparently, Kenan thought I was about to cause a riot or something.
I tiptoed closer to the hallway so I could hear more of their conversation.
âAlex, seriously, man,â Kenanâs voice dropped, almost a whisper now, like he didnât want me to overhear. âHow can you just... let her go out like this? With guys? She looksââ
âShe looks great,â Alex said, interrupting him again, clearly enjoying how much Kenan was squirming. âAnd why are you so worked up about it?â
âIâm not worked up,â Kenan mumbled, sounding anything but convincing. âIâm just... concerned.â
I couldnât resist anymore. I stepped into the living room, catching both of them off guard. Kenan was standing with his hands in his pockets, looking frustrated, while Alex was sprawled out on the couch, smirking.
âWhat are you two talking about?â I asked innocently, leaning against the doorframe.
Kenanâs head snapped in my direction, and for a second, he just stared at me. His eyes ran over my outfit, his jaw tightening as he took it all in. I could see the wheels turning in his head, and he didnât even try to hide his irritation.
âWe were just talking about how someone is about to go out with a bunch of guys,â Kenan said, his voice tight as he gave me a pointed look.
I shrugged, pretending like I didnât know exactly what he was hinting at. âTheyâre just friends.â
Kenan scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest, his biceps flexing in frustration. âYeah, friends who are going to be staring at you all night.â
Alex snorted from the couch, clearly finding this whole situation hilarious. âKenan, man, youâre being dramatic. Sheâs just going out for a few hours.â
Kenan shot Alex a desperate look, his voice dropping in urgency. âYou seriously donât have a problem with this?â
Alex raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying watching Kenan squirm. âWhy would I? Sheâs my sister, not my prisoner.â
Kenan groaned, running a hand through his hair in frustration. âBut, like... look at her! How can you just let her walk out the door like this? There are going to be guys hitting on her all night!â
I couldnât help but smile at how flustered he was. Kenan, always so cool and collected, was falling apart at the thought of me going out with a group of guys.
I took a few steps toward him, enjoying the way his eyes widened slightly as I got closer. âKenan, are you... jealous?â
His eyes flickered, but he quickly tried to play it off. âJealous? No. Iâm just... I donât trust those guys, okay?â
I raised an eyebrow. âYou donât trust them, or you donât trust me?â
His face softened for a moment, but he quickly covered it with another grumble. âItâs not you I donât trust. Itâs them.â
Alex, still lounging on the couch, couldnât resist jumping in. âDude, relax. You act like sheâs going to run off with one of them or something.â
Kenan shot him a glare. âYouâre not helping.â
I stepped even closer, so close I could see the tension in Kenanâs jaw, the way his chest rose and fell a little faster than usual. He was definitely jealous.
âKenan,â I said softly, placing a hand on his arm, âI can handle myself. You donât need to worry.â
He stared down at me, his eyes conflicted. âI know you can. I just... donât like the idea of those thrashy guys even thinking they have a chance with you.â
I smiled, squeezing his arm gently. âThey donât.â
Kenan blinked, looking a little caught off guard by how direct I was. His shoulders relaxed slightly, but he still looked unconvinced.
âSo, what? You want Alex to tell me I canât go out?â I teased, glancing over at my brother, who was now watching us with a smirk.
Kenanâs eyes flickered to Alex again, and for a split second, I saw the desperation in his expression. âMaybe.â
Alex burst out laughing, slapping the couch. âOh man, youâve got it bad, Kenan.â
Kenan shot him another glare before looking back at me, his face softening. âI just... I donât want you to go out and come back with stories about how some guy was flirting with you all night.â
I smiled, standing on my tiptoes to plant a soft kiss on his cheek. âYou donât have to worry about that. Trust me.â
Kenanâs jaw relaxed, and I could see the relief wash over him. He still looked a little annoyed, but at least he wasnât in full panic mode anymore.
âYouâre really driving me crazy, you know that?â he muttered, his voice low, but there was a hint of a smile tugging at his lips.
I grinned, stepping back and heading for the door. âGood.â
He watched me with a mix of frustration and fondness, his arms crossed over his chest as I grabbed my purse.
âYou better not let anyone buy you a drink,â he called after me, his voice full of warning but also playful.
I turned back with a wink. âI wonât. Iâll be thinking about you the whole time.â
Kenanâs lips twitched into a smirk, though I could still see the jealousy lingering in his eyes. âYou better.â
As I walked out the door, I could feel his gaze on me the entire way. And honestly? I didnât mind one bit.
Let him be jealousâbecause deep down, he knew exactly where Iâd be coming back to at the end of the night.

NOTE. i admit, it took me a while to finish it and gosh im so disappointed in this one too omfg- its kinda awful at first but it gets a bit better towards the end(?) just hope yâall wonât be disappointed ! hints of sunghoonâs story are here as well<3
âdid someone ever told you how pretty you are?â
âyes, numerous times actuallyâ
âweâd make a pretty couple togetherâ
you rolled your eyes for the nth time this week. itâs your fifth date for this week so far, youâve honestly had enough of your parents setting you up with disgusting princes who search for nothing but your beauty to show off.
âno, not with you sorryâ you replied and quickly left the place back to your palace.
âi canât believe you keep setting me up with some creeps!â you disturbed your parentsâ dinner and barged into the dining room.
âsweetie you already know why weâre doing this,â your mother spoke, âyou need to find someone to marry already! your older sister already did thatâ
âi donât care about my older sister nor marriage, those filthy princes care nothing but my faceâ
âwell thatâs a good thing then! youâre very popular amongst the princes you knowâ
you groaned. your parents will never get you, will they?
every person youâve met, every prince that you went on a date with, each one of them kept complimenting you and your beauty.
all princes are the same, youâre sure of that.
youâve heard dozens of times the same sentences again and again.
âweâd make a pretty couple togetherâ , âmy future kingdom will be happy to have such a pretty queen like youâ , âif iâll marry you i wonât need to worry about having beautiful childrenâ â yuck.
all you want is someone to notice you and care for you not because of your beauty, you want someone to love you because of your personality, not because of how pretty you look in their eyes.
whatâs so special about you and your beauty anyway?
ever since you were born your parents showed off your beauty. even your older sister didnât get much attention.
your beauty is clearly beyond compare and because of that you got pretty popular amongst the royals. every kingdom knows you as the most beautiful princess out there.
they made you some kind of trophy, that whoever gets you is a winner. itâs disgusting.
objecting you is disgusting and considering you as a trophy is sickening.
you canât lie, youâd definitely date yourself if you could, but you believe that thereâs a lot more beyond than your beauty only.
âthe date didnât work out?â your father asked you.
âobviously,â you rolled your eyes, âyou should stop trying to set me up with princesâ
ânot going to happen until you find someone to marryâ your mother glared at you, âweâve set you a new date tomorrow, you should go sleep early todayâ
you sighed and went back to your room.
you have to stop this, until when are you going to suffer?
this is your only chance. run away now or never.
at night, you packed your stuff. you hate the fact that your closet is full with dresses. stupid princessâ dress code.
you packed only small amount of dresses, and a lot of money. tons of money.
you waited for the right time and when it was late enough, you sneaked out slowly and surely.
when the cold breeze hit your skin you shivered but smiled, you were finally free.
you ran away, far away from your palace and hometown.
you ran until you saw a tall building, probably a hostel where you could stay for the night.
âwelcomâ are you princess y/n or am i just blindâ the one who sat behind the counter greeted you.
âum i think you got mistakenâ you chuckled nervously.
âoh, okay. it must be late and iâm just tiredâ he said, âhow can i help you?â
you ended up spending the night in the small hostel. itâs not something youâre used for, but luckily, you could easily adjust that kind of life.
you left early in the morning, not wanting to get noticed by anyone as you were still a bit close to you hometown and the citizens might still recognize you. you couldnât take that risk of being caught.
a few hours passed and hybeâs kingdom was a chaos yet again.
this time, the queen was a bit angry since someone ditched her son.
âhow can that princess just not show up!â she shout angrily.
âjake, i promise ill talk with her mother and sort this whole thing outâ she added.
jake sighed. it was supposed to be his fifth date for this week and heâs been more than tired of his motherâs endless nagging about marriage.
out of all the seven brothers, she chose to bother jake the most, setting him up for loads and countless dates.
today, he was supposed to have a date with a princess named l/n y/n or something. he honestly couldnât care less at this point.
he had never heard about that princess, but his mother couldnât stop praising her for her beauty.
she canât be that pretty, right?
it was later that day when your kingdom announced you as missing.
your parents woke up to nothing but anxious feeling around the palace as you were supposed to be awaken up earlier than usual but were nowhere to be found.
your mother cursed under her breath, not only that her daughter is missing, now she has to deal with the queen of hybeâs kingdom and her son.
how is she going to face them now?
she paid a visit in hybeâs kingdom a few hours later, speaking with the queen and trying to calm her down.
âsheâs missing, nowhere to be found around the kingdomâ your mother told the other queen.
âi understand, weâll do our best to help you find her. itâs unbelievable that a princess is running away just like thatâ
jake, who heard the whole conversation grew some curiosity about you.
how dare a royal blood run away like that? is it that easy? how are you doing right now and how did you even manage to run away?
he jumped from his bed and walked to his older brother heeseung.
âhey!â he called heeseung who was busy daydreaming about something.
âhm? oh heyâ
âwhat are you doing?â he sat next to his brother that laid on his bed.
âjust thinking about somethingâ
âsomething or someone?â jake teased.
âdoes that matter?â heeseung groaned and sat up next to jake, âwhat did you want to talk about?â
âhave you ever thought about running away from this palace?â
after hours of walking from one city to the other, you arrived to a small village.
it looked too welcoming and warm outside, it definitely had you drawn to it.
as you entered youâve met with some fellow villagers who worked on their beautiful green, full with flowers, fresh fruits and so much more garden.
it looked really disconnected to the royal life you know. life in this village seems so peaceful and quiet.
you asked the fellow villagers to meet the head of the village and maybe convince him into letting you get a house.
âwe have a free house down this road, itâs a bit far from the center of this village but iâm sure youâll get to meet everyone in this village as fast as possibleâ he said warmly and you gladly accepted the idea.
âare you sure iâve never seen you before? you look very familiarâ he added and you quickly shook your head, âyouâre probably mistaken, a lot of people told me i look like the princess in the other kingdom there but itâs not the case at allâ
âi see, letâs go! iâll show you aroundâ he smiled and lead the way.
âyour house is free to live in, no need to pay for rent or buy this house, this house belongs to the villageâ he explained as soon as you entered your new house.
itâs small, but it looks so comfortable. your palace is huge, this little house is definitely not something youâre used to. but something about this house feels different, different than anything else you know.
âin return, you need to work for the villageâ he added, âevery morning we wake up and each one of us volunteers, whether itâs in the garden, or the local stores around, you just need to sign in and start working!â
you nodded and your tour kept on going.
ârunning away? are you insane? do you even hear what youâre saying right now?â heeseung angrily remarked.
âiâm not saying iâll do that, i was just asking if you ever thought about thatâ jake sighed.
âno, i havenât,â heeseung shook his head, âroyal life is not so bad, why would i even think about running away?â
âyouâre falling in love with a commoner and now iâm the insane oneâ jake mumbled under his breath, âokay good talk! i was just askingâ
jake left his older brotherâs room and sighed.
is it that wrong to run away? then why did you, l/n y/n decided to leave your royal life and run away?
jake then knocked on his other brotherâs room sunghoon.
sunghoon is quite literally jakeâs best friend. they know everything about each other and always talk to each other when life gets too hard.
whenever jake wants to cheer up, he goes to sunghoon. whenever sunghoon needs a shoulder to lean on, jake gives him his.
âsunghoonâ jake called his brother.
âhm? is everything okay?â sunghoon asked right away.
âwhat about you?â
âi honestly donât know man, the girl i want doesnât want me so i donât really know what to doâ sunghoon sighed, âbut you havenât answered my question and i asked firstâ
âeverything is fine i justâŚ.â jake froze for a second.
how would sunghoon react? just like his older brother heeseung? no, no. sunghoon is definitely different than heeseung.
but should he ask him? what could possibly happen?
âjustâŚ?â sunghoon asked curiously.
âi was just wondering if you ever thought about running awayâ he finally let out.
sunghoon was quite for a few seconds, trying to process what he just heard.
it made jake nervous and anxious, will he get angry? no, he has no reason to. is there a possibility that sunghoon will go snitch on him to their parents? no, sunghoonâs not that kind of person.
or maybe yes? god, itâs making him go crazy.
âsunghoonâŚ.?â
âwhat made you think about running away?â
âhuh?â jake was left confused. how did he know?
itâs as if sunghoon can read his brotherâs mind because a second after he giggled, âyou wouldnât ask me that question if you yourself never thought about itâ
jake chuckled, âanswer me first iâll answer you thenâ
âyesâ sunghoon quiet down his giggles, âi thought about it, also thought about giving up on my crown multiple timesâ
âi was supposed to have a meeting with another princess todayâ jake finally spoke.
âmom just canât rest about that, can she?â sunghoon rolled his eyes and jake shook his head.
âher name is l/n y/nââ âno way! the most beautiful princess?â
sunghoon cut him mid-way through his sentence and jake shrugged.
âhow come iâve never heard about her?â
sunghoon then put his hand on jakeâs shoulder and laughed, âjakeâ he sighed, âonly pretty people know other pretty peopleâ
jake rolled his eyes and shoved sunghoon playfully, âwhatever you sayâ
âwhat about her though?â
âi was supposed to go on a date with her, but she didnât show upâ
âoooooh she ditched youâ
âshut upâ
âsorry man, it happens to the best of usâ
âyou canât be saying all those stuff when the woman you want to marry doesnât even love youâ
âhey, weâre not talking about thatâ sunghoon pointed at jake seriously and jake could only sigh.
âsorry, i was about to say that sheâs now missing, she ran away from her palaceâ
âno way!â
âyes way! her mother came here to explain the whole situationâ
âthis is seriousâ sunghoon gasped and jake nodded.
âthat made me think about the possibilities of running awayâ he fiercely looked into sunghoon.
sunghoon nodded and laid his hand over jakeâs shoulders, âif it thrills you and interests you, do itâ
jake looked surprised into sunghoonâs eyes, âreally? you donât think itâs insane or crazy?â
âhey, you know whatâs crazy?â
âyes i already know the woman you love doesnât love you back! just go and apologize or something!â
âwhat makes you think i didnât do that already?â sunghoon groaned.
âshould i just run away now?â
âgo for itâ
âokâ
âwait not really, youâre still not ready, take a few days and think about it throughlyâ sunghoon stopped his brother before he was going to do anything stupid.
âyouâre rightâ jake nodded, âiâll take a few daysâ
âmorning!â
your first day volunteering in the local convenience store just started. you were greeted by most of the villagers with a wide smile and a lot of compliments.
âoh youâre so pretty! would you like to meet my son? heâs really really handsome i think youâd make a cute coupleâ one of them said with a smile.
you just shrugged her off, thanking her and laughing it away.
âare you sure i havenât seen you before? you look like theââ âprincess from the other kingdom, i knowâ you smiled, âi heard that a lotâ
âi have to meet your parents one day! how come they have such a pretty daughter and youâre still single?â she asked innocently.
the reminder of your parents made you stop everything you did.
what are they up to right now? do they even care about you being gone? are they going to search for you?
âare you okay y/n?â she waved her hand in front of your face, âyes, my parents are just really far away from here and i havenât seen them in a while, we donât talk a lotâ you continued helping her and sent her off.
you like your work and new home. you can definitely see yourself spending the rest of your life in this peaceful place.
âboys, as you already know, princess y/n is missing,â the queen told her seven sons, âif any of you get to hear about her, please let us knowâ
the boys nodded. sunghoon glanced at his brother jake, who was busy thinking and daydreaming about something.
âjake,â sunghoon called, âis everything okay?â
all the eyes in the room looked at him now. âhm?â he asked, âoh yes donât worryâ
âare you sure jake? i know itâs not fun to be stood upâ the queen pat his shoulder and his siblings all tried to hide their laughs.
âyes iâm fineâ
sunghoon then dragged his brother into his room and forced him to sit on his bed.
âsomething is wrongâ he said.
âguiltyâ jake sighed, he was trying his best to hide his feelings today, âi just havenât slept, iâm tired, thatâs allâ
âokayâ sunghoon nodded, âgo sleep thenâ
âoâŚâŚ.kay?â
âthat didnât work as well as i planned it to workâ sunghoon mumbled under his breath.
âget upâ he ordered.
âwhy?â jake tilt his head in confusion.
âweâre going to search for the princessâ
âare you planning to sneak out right now? are you crazy?â jakeâs eyes widened.
âno jake, weâll just have a walk around the townâ
they did end up having a walk with a few guards by their side.
sunghoon is was busy looking around while jake spent his time asking about the runaway princess. needless to say he doesnât even know how she looks.
âhave you seen princess y/n?â jake asked one of the civilians, âwho?â the civilian asked back.
âprincess y/nâ jake repeated, âthe most beautiful princessâŚâ he hoped your nickname would be familiar to the civilian but it was no use.
âyouâre not helping me hereâ jake rolled his eyes and shoved his brother.
âsorry, was just thinking about somethingâ
âsomething as ways to get into your enemyâs heart?â
âsheâs not my enemyâ
âiâm pretty sure sheâd tell me otherwiseâ
sunghoon groaned and pushed his brother playfully, âletâs just go back, weâre not getting closer to something anywayâ
a few weeks passed and sunghoon managed to keep his brother and stop him from running away through manipulating him into doing other things to make him forget about the whole idea.
a few weeks passed ever since you were announced as the runaway princess.
a few weeks passed ever since the village you moved in, became your home.
life in the village was the best thing ever happened to you.
all the villagers welcomed you with open arms and also fell in love with your beauty.
they called you the villageâs princess. ironic isnât it?
you almost completely forgot about your royal life. you got used to their modern uniforms, apparently not only dresses were in fashion!
your own kingdom was almost long forgotten and so are your parents. everything you grew up to suddenly vanished from your new life in the village, you became one of them already.
a few weeks passed since jake asked his brothers about the whole running away idea, and heâs still thinking about it up until this day.
he hasnât been sleeping well ever since he first thought about it. which is probably the reason to why he looks like a zombie walking around the palace.
his mother also stopped bothering him about dates. she thought he was too broken from being ditched. ouch.
another day full of adventures and sunghoonâs endless distractions passed, and after dozens of sleepless nights he decided to make his run away plan.
before he does that, he went to talk with the most responsible brother in his opinion, jungwon.
it was midnight already but jake couldnât wait until sunrise, he has to let it all out.
luckily for him, jungwon was wide awake in his bed.
âjake? is everything okay? what makes you come here at midnight?â
âi have to tell you somethingâ jake bit his lips, âitâs important, reallyâ
âcanât it wait for the morning?â although jungwon was wide awake, he couldnât really process anything as his mind was occupied by something else.
âi just wanted to say that iâll be gone for a while. i donât know for how longâ jake sighed, âcould be days, weeks, months or neverâ
âjake what are you talking about?â
âjust please, donât search for me and help me out on this oneâ
âdo you even hear what youâre saying?â
âiâll be fine, i promiseâ jake licked his lower lips out of anxiety, âi just really need a break from all of this life for a whileâ
jungwon tilt his head. he couldnât understand his older brother at all.
âeverything is just stressing me out, i just need some quietâ he continued.
as much as jake tried to hide it, his brothers couldâve seen he wasnât being his best lately.
jake would usually be the first one to wake up in the morning and then would jump on each oneâs bed to wake them up with a hug after then of course, but lately something has changed in jake.
he suddenly stopped hugging or jumping around, even started to wake up the last without even calling good morning.
it was obvious he needed some help.
âdo you think itâd help you?â jungwon asked.
âhm?â
âdo you think running away would help you find peace?â he repeated and jake nodded.
âso you do youâ jungwon smiled, âiâll miss you thoughâ
jake smiled even wider than jungwon and hugged him, âthank youâ
âiâll just tell mom and dad youâve went to pay a visit in your friendsâ kingdom for a few months and explain the situationâ jungwon blinked a few times, âplease donât disappear foreverâ
âi wonât, i promiseâ he held out his pinky and jungwon interlocked his pinky.
âiâll kill you if you wonât come to my future weddingâ
âiâll probably marry before you and youâd be able to see my wedding in this palaceâ he chuckled, that was a sign for jungwon that jake is not going to be gone forever, and it made him smile to know that his brother wonât be a runaway prince for long.
a few hours later jake finally made his way out of the palace, leaving a note beside sunghoonâs bed telling him that heâll be gone for a while.
heâs going to miss his brothers for sure.
the next morning you woke up earlier than usual, feeling a bit uneasy and something was bothering you.
you slowly got ready for the day and went out of your house to have a little walk alone around the village.
you were taking your time to take in the beauty of the village youâve been living in for a few weeks already, closing your eyes and breathing slowly as you held your hands together.
you finally opened your eyes just to notice a small figure slowly making itâs way into the village.
that person looks so tired and overworked.
the person was wearing a big sweater with black pants, he also has a quite big bag on his bag as he takes slow steps.
you moved a bit closer to the person in hurry. calling the person so youâll get noticed by him.
âhey! hello! do you perhaps need help?â
the person slowly looked at you and his eyes formed into a soft gaze, as if he was thankful that he finally saw another person.
you noticed he started to walk closer to you in hurry, and somehow you didnât feel threatened or scared at all.
you finally reached to him with a smile and he looked at you.
âwho are you?â you suspiciously asked. âiâm sorry madam, let me introduce myself, iâm sim jake, hybeâs-â
âhybeâs princeâ you gasped, you heard about hybe kingdom a few times and you heard about sim jake, and to be honest, you canât think of anyone who didnât hear about them.
the kingdom is one of the famous kingdom out of all, you never wouldâve imagine they have such a handsome son amongst the seven of them.
âand you are?â he shrugged off the fact that you just cut him in the middle of the sentence.
âiâm l/n y/nââ âthe runaway princess?â
âhuh?â you tilt your head in confusion.
âare you l/n y/n the runaway princess?â
ânoâŚâŚ?â
âwas that a question?â
âno! iâm not the runaway princessâ
âare you lying?â he raised a brow, clearly not believing you.
âno?â
âwas that a question again?â
âfine! here, you can take me awayâ you said, holding your hands together for him to handcuff you.
âiâm not really a runaway but whatever, let me take my clothes and things before iââ âno wait waitââ âi understand that my parents sent me but look, iâm having fun here i enjoy my time andââ
ây/n stopâ he raised his tone a bit and put his hands on your shoulders to keep you in place, giving you a chance to take a look at his face.
both of you froze for a few seconds.
gosh heâs so pretty.
so the rumors about her beauty were so true.
you realized you were holding your breath for a long time now and finally pulled away.
he coughed, âiâm sorry, you kept panicking and i had to stop youâ
ân-no itâs okayâ
wait.
were you just stuttering?
you couldnât help it, his voice is so soft, and his gaze just makes you lose your mind.
you usually hate looking at peopleâs visuals first time you see them but heâs so breathtaking.
âi just wanted to say i have no intention of taking you back to your parents, iâm a runaway tooâ
âiâm not aâ you know what? youâre probably tired, letâs get you homeâ you took his hand and dragged him back to your house.
your house in the village is small, but enough to hold two people.
you have one bed, for two people. youâd have to share your bed with him or else one of you would have to sleep on the floor.
âthis is my house, feel free to do whateverâ
you donât know why you trust this person so much, he couldâve lied to you about him being a prince, especially a hybe prince.
but you somehow found yourself putting a lot of trust in him.
âthank you y/nâ he smiled at you.
you smiled softly at him back and poured him a glass of water, ârest for a bit, i have to work today so iâll come back later, weâll talk it out when iâll be backâ
you saw him setting his things away and giggling a bit when he noticed your bed, âare we going to share that bed?â he asked.
you chuckled, âgo sleep for now, weâll talk everything outâ
you left your house and went to your workplace.
jake took his time to look around your house.
itâs a small house, not something that heâs used to, but he knows for sure that he feels so comfortable in this house.
anyone who called you astonishing was right. your beauty really is beyond compare.
he noticed a photo hanged on the wall besides your bed. you were in the middle, surrounded by a lot of people who held a big smile on their face.
the background looked like the village, could they be the villagers? why do you have a picture with the villagers instead of your family?
and why is your smile so heart stopping?
he shrugged off his thoughts and went to sleep after he wasnât able to sleep the whole night.
the day passed by slowly, every minute felt like a year. you kept looking at the clock every five minutes and your coworkers noticed your weird behavior.
ây/n, youâre distracted todayâ the head of the village teased you.
you love the villagers, and they love you. they take care of you so well and make you feel at home. they know you too well to notice how you feel, and as of now, they know that youâre more than distracted.
âi just have some on my mindâ you chuckled, âdonât worry about thatâ
âay, are you having some boy problems?â another one said with a smile.
âyou can say thatâ you giggled as they all gasped.
ây/n has a new guy?â
âno! i was counting on you and my son!â
you laughed at their cute comments and shook your head.
just a few more hours and youâll be able to see him again.
you entered your house, expecting to see a sleeping jake on the bed, but he was actually searching for something to eat.
âuhmâ you coughed and he jumped, âoh! hiâ
âheyâ you smiled and put your things away, âwe got a lot to talk about, are you hungry? let me make some foodâ
he nodded shyly and you chuckled. heâs so cute.
âso,â you settled your food on the table and stared at him, âhow and when did you run away?â
âstraight to the point i seeâ
âyou gotta be straightforward sometimesâ you shrugged.
âi ran away yesterday night, i felt too suffocated in the palace and i had to take a break, i just sneaked out, like you didâ he sighed, âwe were supposed to have a date you know, on the day you ran awayâ
âhuh?â
âyeah, then your mom came to our kingdom and announced you as missing,â he took a bite from the food, âyou were some kind of my role model of running awayâ
âwhat do you mean?â
âi started thinking about the running away situation because of you, iâm so glad i finally met youâ
he raised his head and shared an eye contact with you.
you stopped for a second to take another look on his face. how will you be able to stand him now?
âyeah,â you nodded, âiâm happy i finally met you tooâ
âitâs my turn now,â he smiled, âwhy did you run away?â
âsame as you, royal life can be suffocating and annoyingâ you shrugged, ânumerous of dates with disgusting princes, i hated thatâ
he nodded, understanding the way you feel. âiâm sorry to hear thatâ he put his hand on your shoulder and showed you a little and comforting smile.
you leaned in and hugged him, âthank youâ
he was a bit taken aback, but hugged you back within five seconds.
you needed to feel some kind of affection so you hugged him, ignoring the fact that you met him less than 24 hours ago.
âyou have to teach me the way of living here, my plan is to stay here for a long time, you knowâ he said, his chin on your shoulder and his hands holding you tightly, âis there another free house around? i can get out and search if youââ
you pulled away from the hug and shook your head, âweâd have to live together and sleep on the same bed, i believe weâd get used to itâ
both of you giggled and continued eating.
you spent the rest of the night talking and updating each other.
you told him everything he needs to know about the life in this village, and told him youâll take him to your workplace tomorrow, so you can work together.
he updated you about whatever happened after you ran away, and without even noticing it, it was already past midnight.
âwe should go sleep,â you suddenly said, âwe have a lot to do later todayâ
he nodded and got up from his seat, âyouâd also have to teach me how to cookâ you giggled and nodded.
the morning came and it was already time for you to go to work.
ây/n! you brought a man today!â one of your coworkers who, noticed jake that was standing next to you cheered.
âyeah, meet jake, heâs myââ âboyfriend!â all of the villagers who were in the store cheered.
âno iââ ây/nie we donât need to hide it anymoreâ jake cut you off and held your hand.
your eyes widened and you froze, âhuh?â
âoh y/n! iâm so happy for you!â the elders said and hugged you.
âi brought jake today because i thought he could join our work here, please accept him to this villageâ you asked the head of the village.
âof course! our princessâ village finally has a prince now!â jakeâs soft eyes glanced at you as you smiled.
âthank youâ
the day passed as fast as the light, you taught jake everything he needs to know and got hundreds of compliments about your new relationship.
âmy boyfriend? really?â you asked as soon as you arrived back home together.
âwhat was i supposed to say?â
âcousin? childhood friend? familyâs friend? i can list moreâ
âfine fine iâm sorry, i thought itâd be more easy to play in a relationshipâ he giggled and you sighed.
âiâll make some food now you should go showerâ you smiled and he nodded.
âplease teach me how to make some foodâ he begged while you put your plates on the table.
âi learnt everything from the villagersâ you giggled.
âdo you have any plans of coming back to your palace?â he suddenly asked.
you were a bit taken aback, âi donât knowâ you shook your head, âthis village became my house, i love everyone here, theyâre like my family and home iâve never hadâ
jake nodded and listened carefully.
âi love my parents, but they were making me so anxious around them and here i suddenly forgot how does it feel to be anxious around someone. i must say i really do miss my royal life, who knows? i might come back in a few weeksâ
jake moved closer to you and cupped your cheeks, âtake your time, iâm staying here with you until you decide to go backâ
it felt like time stopped. when he cupped your cheeks and looked at you with his soft eyes, you suddenly felt anxious, but not in any bad way.
butterflies went crazy in your stomach and your cheeks turned slight red, you could melt from his touch.
you were too focused on feeling anxious that you didnât even notice how red jakeâs face turned. he didnât even realize what he was doing until half a minute after. he was awfully close to you and you somehow managed to make him go crazy inside his mind.
both of you pulled back and cleared your throat.
âwe shouldââ âyeah, letâs go sleepâ
ever since that dinner, months passed by.
you and jake became super close to each other, you were so into the fake relationship that you got used to calling jake your boyfriend.
you and jake cuddled up in your bed, awfully close to each other and playing with each otherâs fingers.
it became a usual thing for you two, every night youâd get ready to go to bed together and cuddle until you fall asleep in each otherâs hands.
ây/nâ jake suddenly called, âhm?â you hummed in response.
âhow many dates have you been forced to go to?â
you giggled, âwhat kind of question is that?â
âdid you fall in love with someone you went on a date with?â he asked.
âhuhââ
âdid you ever date someone?â he sounded serious, and asking those questions didnât help either.
âno, i havenâtâ you replied.
but i fell in love with you, you wanted to add.
you felt bad, you were slowly falling in love with jake. it was supposed to be a fake relationship and nothing more than that.
âgood morningâ jake got up and noticed you were cooking something for breakfast. he back-hugged you and kissed your cheek, âgood morningâ you replied.
âi thought about going on a walk today around the village! i also promised the head of the village to help him with some thingsâ jake updated you about his plans for the day.
damn, it really feels like youâre in a relationship with him. how can you not fall in love with someone as sweet as him?
you nodded and sent him off.
you must do something about your stupid heart that fell in love with that perfect human being.
jake took the day off, so you were working alone today.
his absence was really present in work today, not only you missed him in work.
âhey y/n! whereâs your boyfriend?â one of the customers asked and you chuckled, âhe has a name you knowâ
âbut he took the day off, heâs a bit unwell todayâ
on the other hand, jake was busy with the head of the village, going around with him and helping him with whatever.
âare you sure about that?â jake asked the head of the village.
âiâm more than sure! you can do it jake!â he pat his shoulder and jake grinned.
âyouâll see the results tomorrow,â he smiled, âdonât tell anyone until you do!â
jake ran back home and got ready to cook some dinner for you.
âjake! iâm home!â you called and he showed up, hugging you tightly and planting a kiss on your cheek.
âi missed youâ he pout.
youâre still not used to feeling that much of affection, especially from him.
whatâs wrong with your heart? why canât it stop beating so fast around him?
you giggled and kissed his cheek back, âiâve been away for only a few hoursâ
âthat still doesnât change the fact that i missed you, plus a few hours is like an eternity for meâ
he guided you to the table that was full with food you guessed he made.
âyou made all of that for me?â you asked and he nodded, âthank you!â you hugged him and he returned the hug.
âi have another surprise for you,â he pulled away from the hug and you looked at him confused.
he went down on one knee and took out a box while holding your hand with his free hand.
ây/n,â he called out, âitâs been a while since weâve first met, and at first i thought you were some snobbish who threw everything away just like that. but soon you became my inspiration to run away from my boring and annoying life, and i think it was the best decision iâve ever made.â he giggled,
âwhen i saw you i was shocked, mostly by your impossible-to-beat beauty, but also by your kindness. you took care of me as soon as you saw me, and taught me everything i need to know here, you made me forget about the fact that weâre in fact, royalsâ
âi felt alive around you, with each day that comes by i fall more and more deep in love with you and i canât help but want to spend the rest of my life with youâ he looked generous, as he really meant every word that just came out of his mouth.
âso l/n y/nâ he cleared his throat and opened the box to show a beautiful yet small and shining ring, âwill you make me the happiest person alive and marry me?â
âyes! a million times yes!â you helped him get up and hugged him tightly as the tears finally fell down from your eyes.
he pulled away a bit to look at you and wiped your tears, âi love youâ he suddenly said and his lips crushed into yours.
you kissed his soft lips and put your hands around his neck to get closer to him.
as you pulled away due lack of air, you played with his hair and stared at his beautiful eyes, âi love you too jakeâ
âthank you! for making me feel like a part of your family, for accepting me no matter what and for always caring about me,â you cried out, âiâll always be thankful for each and one of youâ
you and jake decided to leave the village and return to your kingdoms. you have to get marry and get your own kingdom of course.
but that also meant that you need to leave the villagers, who became your second home in no time.
âweâre going to miss you too,â one of them said, âdonât come back unless youâre pregnant!â
all of you laughed and you kept hugging each of them.
all the villagers got so excited about you and jake, and even prepared their own presents for your marriage.
âtheyâll definitely be invited to our weddingâ you told jake and he instantly agreed.
finally, you arrived to your kingdom. you took some deep breaths and jake stood next to you, holding your hand and playing with the ring he put on your finger a few days ago.
âyouâll be fine, they missed you a lotâ he reassured you and you smiled, âthank youâ
both of you entered the palace and saw the queen and the king sitting in front of the door, as if they have been waiting for you to enter.
ây/nâ your mother whispered, her eyes widened and her hands started to shake. ây/n!â your father shout and ran up to you to cage you in his arms.
the queen followed right after her husband and the three of you hugged until you felt like you couldnât breath anymore.
ây/n our daughter! i missed you so muchâ your mother cupped your cheeks and looked at your glossy eyes who were filled with tears.
âi missed you too mom,â you dad coughed, âand i missed you too dadâ
your mom then noticed jake who was standing next to you.
âjake! how did youââ
âi ask your permission to marry your daughterâ jake bowed in front of your parents.
âi love her, more than anything else in this world, and iâm willing to do everything to protect her and keep her safeâ he added.
your parents looked at you confused and you showed them your ring on your finger.
âyes, of course!â they cheered, âand you young lady, we have a lot to talk aboutâ your parents pointed at you, âafter the marriage of course!â
jake picked you up and spun you around, âwe can finally rule our own kingdom and visit our favorite villageâ he whispered.
you nodded as he leaned his forehead against yours, âthank you, jakeâ you pecked his lips, âi love youâ
he then put his hands around your waist and kissed you deeper and desperately, âi love you too, more than you could ever imagineâ
âyou still have your parents you need to inform about the marriage, you know that right?â your mother, who was a witness to everything that just happened, said.
you and jake nodded awkwardly and updated your parents that youâll be back in a few together with jake.
a week later, the wedding was held in hybeâs ballroom.
âi think your mother hates to waitâ you told jake as soon as you were informed about your wedding date and he giggled, âitâs not like i could wait any longer to finally marry youâ
at the celebration, jungwon and sunghoon came up to you and jake.
âsee? i told you iâll marry before you!â jake ruffled the youngerâs hair and giggled. âthank you for bringing jake backâ sunghoon smiled at you and you giggled.
âheâs actually the one who brought me backâ
âyeah itâs really hard to believe thatâ jungwon grinned and jake threatened to hit him.
âweâre really happy for the both of youâ they said and the both of you thanked them.
âhey jake?â you called him and he turned to his side to share an eye contact with you, âyes, my dear wife?â
him calling you his wife made your whole body flutter.
âiâm more than happy to be able to spend the rest of my life with youâ you held his hand and he smiled.
âand iâm more than lucky to have you by my side for the rest of my life y/nâ

masterlist
The sound of the phone hitting the floor echoed in the empty hallway. You backed away, slowly while never taking your eyes off of it; as if it had a camera inside and whoever texted was watching with a grin on their face.
It started ringing, vibrating violently on the floor. You ran up and picked it up, only because you were afraid they were still in the building and could hear it. But when looking down at the screen, you breathed out in relief. It was the number that Soobin had texted with.
ââ Hello? ââ
You waited in silence, not wanting to risk revealing anything in case that number wasnât him either.
ââ Y/n? ââ
It was his voice, thankfully.
ââ Soobin! I think they have my number. I got a text from someone else and I thought it was you. ââ you said in a hushed voice, starting to walk towards the entrance while hunched over.
ââ What? Did you say anything? ââ
ââ Not anything that would make them think I was talking to you. But who do I say I thought it was? They will probably ask tomorrow. ââ
Soobin quietened for a moment.
ââ Maybe itâs best you donât come to the academy tomorrow. ââ
ââ No, thatâs a terrible idea! It will make me look really suspicious. ââ
ââ Will you really be able to lie to their faces if you see them though? ââ
ââ I have to try at least. But if I donât succeed, a backup plan? ââ
You heard him hum on the other side of the line.
ââ We can use Yeonjun then. ââ
Your face scrunched up, doubt written all over your face. You were pretty sure heâd reject it, rather rudely, based on him telling you to stay away from his brother the last time the two of you talked.
ââ OrâŚYena. ââ you suggested.
ââ Yena? Who is that? ââ
ââ Jungwonâs sister. Iâve met her and she gave the impression of almost hating him. Itâs a long shot bu- ââ
Soobin sassily agreed, ââ It definitely is. ââ
ââ Backup plans donât have to be super solid. Iâm just gonna bet everything on plan A working out. ââ
You didnât have many choices after all. Yena was risky and uncertain, Yeonjun was almost certainly a no and you werenât sure about Sunoo yet. With no other friends that could be undercover right under the noses of your bullies, all that was left to do was to believe in yourself and be confident; which was definitely a first.
ââ What do I do if they text again? ââ
ââ Pretend like you knew it was them from the beginning. If they question it, say you wereâŚdrunk? ââÂ
Your loud laugh echoed. ââ Soobin, your suggestions suck. ââ
ââ SorryâŚââ he mumbled back.
ââ I might have to resort to that though, if it all goes to shit. ââ
ââ I still don't think you should go. ââ
ââ My parents want me to get good grades. I canât lose my scholarship at this prestigious school. ââ
ââ But you already went today. Just use an excuse so you donât have to see them. We can hang out instead, if you want? ââ
Your phone vibrated again in your hand.
ââ Hold on, Iâm getting another call. Iâll let you know though. ââ
ââ Okay, bye! ââ
You pressed answer on the incoming call after having hung up on Soobin. It was an unknown number again, so mentally you prepared yourself before putting the phone to your ear.
ââ Hello? ââ
ââ Did you guess right? ââ
The voice sounded familiar, but admittedly it was one of the last people you expected.
ââ Sunghoon? ââ
ââ Well done! ââ
ââ How do you have my number? ââ
ââ Took your phone while Ni-ki was busy with you in the gym. ââ
Ah, of course. It wouldâve been almost impossible to divide your attention between all seven of them to catch them in the act if they went through your stuff. You were thankful for having changed your settings so you actually had a password now, making sure they couldnât go through your phone and see Soobin there.
ââ Do the others have it too? ââ
ââ Not yet. ââ
You werenât sure what to say next, letting the silence settle. You felt like there was something else, but he was taking his time saying it.
ââ Oh, right! I forgot about that. ââ he shouted out abruptly as if talking to himself.
ââ Forgot about what? ââ
ââ You texted me back, almost like you were waiting for someone to text you. ââ
You panicked and was forced to come up with a lie on the spot in just a few seconds. Luckily, since he couldnât see you, it was much easier to lie. Your face didnât heat up and you didnât have to maintain eye-contact with basically one of the living lie detectors out of the group.Â
You were incredibly lucky today. If you were face to face, heâd be able to figure out you were lying very fast.
ââ YeahâŚmy cousin just got a phone and said sheâd text me today. ââ
He went quiet for a moment, scaring you. Was he trying to assess your voice because he wasnât sure if he believed you?Â
ââ Are you lying to me, sweetheart? ââ
You froze but managed to press out an answer through clenched teeth, ââ No. ââ
ââ Are you sure? I can easily check up on your family, you know that. ââ
But you had already made up your mind, it would be cruel and very stupid to throw Soobin under the bus now. The only option was doubling-down and lying until your nose turned red.
ââ Yes. Iâm sure. ââ you tried to put a little irritation to your tone to make it more believable.
After some time, he ticked his tongue and reluctantly answered,
ââ Okay. ââ
You waited with bated breath, for what heâd say next.
ââ Youâre coming tonight, right? ââ
ââ Tonight? Whatâs tonight? ââ
ââ Just hanging out. Jungwonâs house. Come over. ââ
ââ But- ââ
Your protest was rudely cut off by the sound of the call ending. Looking down at the phone, a scowl formed on your face and you huffed. Another party? What was wrong with them?
You stood in the corridor, feeling completely dumbfounded. Could you even run away now, no- you glanced down at your arms, remembering what happened last time you did and cursing them for giving you such a permanent reminder.
Taking a deep breath you cautiously made your way to the entrance. Despite him not mentioning anything about the hospital, it was still pretty smart to be on your guard on the way out. Who knew if that girl had texted them as soon as you and Soobin left her room, and they rushed there to ambush you.
But it was fairly quiet when you reached the front desk. If they were hiding, they probably wouldâve come out a long time ago, since you were just meters away from the entrance now.
You shrugged off the random burst of paranoia and sprinted to hail a taxi outside. Maybe they would let you go home quite early just like last time. There wasn't much you could bring to the table anyway.
You fished your phone out and texted Soobin, telling him that Sunghoon had called and told you to come to Jungwon's house. It felt a bit unusual. Youâd never hung out with them after school up until the day before, when Jay dragged you to the party.
ââ Miss, weâre here. ââ
ââ Thank you. ââ
You got out and hurried inside as it was still snowing, albeit a lot less than earlier. They were standing in the entrance, all eyes on you when the taxi drove away. The gate stood wide open this time, and the front door was open which gave them a perfect view of the driveway.
ââ Hey. ââ Sunoo smiled at you.
You groaned mentally, whole body screaming for you to turn back around and go home. They didnât even give you a chance though. As soon as you had put your stuff down, you were dragged by the waist to the living room, where all those people had been last time.
However, this time the couches were empty except for when they started sitting down in them one by one. You shifted uncomfortably, being the only one still standing.
It was obvious that there was no party. No music and no other people, only the alcohol in the red cups was the recurring theme from the day before. Why did they make you come there all alone? You felt anxiety start to brew at the pit of your stomach.Â
ââ I-uhâŚcan I use the bathroom? ââ
It was the oldest trick in the book, but hopefully they had already had so much to drink before you showed up that they wouldnât think twice about it.
Jake was the only one who answered, with an uninterested grunt. You went right away, in case they would change their minds. Locking yourself into the bathroom you texted soobin.Â
6:00 pm
You: Soobin? Theyâve dragged me to Jungwonâs house.
The phone pinged almost immediately, you panicked and turned off the sound, looking around in the silence to see if they mightâve noticed. Nothing moved around outside and no noises or footsteps got closer.Â
Next you had to suppress a laugh as you noticed you named him cousin so the others wouldnât notice anything. Naming him ââ baby ââ wouldâve made all hell break loose if they had just spotted it once.
Cousin: What? Like a party?Â
You: Not really, Iâm the only one here.
Cousin: Can you get away?Â
You sucked on your lip while thinking. There wasnât really a way out of this unless you wanted to have more wounds on your body. The whole thing felt like a very annoying headache.
Cousin: Y/n? Hello? Do you need help?Â
You: No! We have a plan, remember?
Cousin: Sorry :(
You: Iâll text you later
Cousin: I live close by, just run over
You: Will you drive me home? :)Â
Cousin: ofc!
ââ Princess? ââ
You jumped and almost dropped your phone clumsily in the process of getting up from the toilet seat. The phone slipped into your pocket again. You unlocked the door and stepped out, coming face to face with Heeseung.
He only looked at you briefly, then pushed past you to get to the bathroom. You went back to join the others. Sunoo and Ni-ki occupied the only couch that wasnât full so you went to them.
Sunoo lit up when seeing you and Ni-ki only said something under his breath before moving so you could sit next to him. Sunoo handed you a cup and you poured alcohol in it, downing it almost immediately in a poor attempt to fix your uneasiness.
ââ Not drinking? ââ
ââ Not a fan. ââ
Ni-ki sounded moody, resting his elbows on his legs so his whole form was slumped over. His head didnât raise when he talked, indicating he wanted to be left alone. You looked at Sunoo for answers but he just shrugged, mouthing â bad day â.
ââ Do you still box? ââ
He finally raised his head to give you a very vehement look. ââ Yeah. ââÂ
Sunoo tried to avoid it when his eyes averted to him, knowing he was looking at him in disbelief over what he had blurted out when he was alone with you. Whistling innocently he looked away and pretended like he was interested in the intense and lively conversation Jake and Jay were having next to him.
Now that Sunoo was turned away from you two, you leaned in a bit closer to Ni-ki, asking what youâd been wondering for a long time.
ââ Do you even like me? ââ
He frowned and then looked a bit caught off guard, pulling his hood further up to cover more of his face. ââ Yeah? IâŚthink so. ââ
ââ But like, as much as the others orâŚââ you trailed off.
He glared at you through his bangs which made you close your mouth again, regretting saying anything at all.
ââ Y/n? ââ
Sunghoon called you over, patting on the empty seat next to him where presumably Heeseung sat in before. Reluctantly you sat down, glancing at Jake and hoping you wouldnât catch his attention any time soon, since he was extra bad when intoxicated.
Sunghoon mustâve noticed, his long fingers came up to your jaw, turning your head towards him. You stared into his bleary eyes. He looked very drunk, long gone with his pupils struggling to focus on you. But there was still some tenderness in them.
Sunghoon was slightly anxious. Heâd never been alone with you before, and not this close in such an innocent way too; they all acted as a group and stuck together as one, agreeing to not be alone with you for too long.
While leaning his head back on the couch the two of you were sitting on, he turned his head to look at you. It was embarrassing how nervous you made him, as if you were some crush he had in middle school. Just looking at you made his throat close up.
ââ Do you like this house? ââ he randomly blurted out, through slurred speech.
You laughed lightly which made Sunghoon smile widely.
ââ Yeah, itâs nice. ââ
He wanted to say more, maybe the way to your heart was to make you laugh. But he didn't get the chance to before Jungwon plopped down on the other side of the couch, next to you.
He didnât seem at all interested in flirting with you, instead going straight into a rather serious-toned conversation, a dead-pan look on his face.
ââ Do you know why he invited you here? ââ
ââ No. Not really. ââ you tilted your head.
ââ From now on, we want to see you outside of school too. ââ
You turned to him. ââ Why? ââ
His lips were licked as annoyance flashed across his face, his cold eyes piercing through you. ââ Because we said so. ââ
The alcohol had started to rush to your head already, making your speech a bit slower, vision blurrier but also lips bolder.Â
ââ Why are you always so blunt with me? Youâre kind of mean. ââÂ
He grimaced at your whiny tone and got eye-contact with Sunghoon, who probably knew what his friend was thinking. But he could never really stop Jungwon, since he was the leader after all.
ââ Because, youâre a brat. ââ he calmly said, although his eyes were anything but.
ââ A brat? ââÂ
You stood up and almost stumbled into his lap when the dizziness hit you. Tauntingly, you looked down at him while swinging your cup in one hand.
ââ Youâre the ones who fucking bully me, you piece of shit! ââ
ââ Y/n. ââ Sunghoon warned, seeing Jungwonâs eyes narow.
ââ Donât talk to me like that. ââ
You groaned and almost ripped your hair out in frustration. His calm exterior always made you feel crazy; it made you look hysteric in comparison, and wrong when you had all the reasons to be acting like that.
ââ Shut the fuck up! ââ you yelled.
He snapped. Standing up so fast you flinched and lost balance, he was there to jerk you towards him with a harsh grip around your wrist. You lost your chance to talk as he hurried to drag you upstairs, Sunghoon running behind.Â
You get pushed into a bedroom and Sunghoon got the door slammed in his face just as he was a few seconds away from it.
The tension in the room is high. Even though your back was turned to Jungwon, you could almost feel how he seethed of anger, but it was controlled and calculated, he was in control not you.
ââ Face me. ââ
You shuddered at his low voice, taking as much time as possible to turn around. The door was locked, who knew what he was going to do to you, away from the eyes of others?
ââ Iâm sorry. ââ
You finally turned, and immediately your eyes unwillingly welled up with tears. It was the last thing you wanted to happen, but you became that girl in the gym again. Just one look at him and you wanted to cower away, beg for mercy or cry like a helpless child.Â
You felt like a different person outside of the school. Because when the day was over, so was the torture. Seeing him look like he wanted to tear you apart in a different environment than the bleak walls of the gym reminded you of your grim future; they would torture you in your safe haven now too. It wouldnât be over as soon as you passed the gates. They demanded you meet them at their houses and text them. What would happen if you answered just one second too late?
Jungwon stared at you wordlessly. He felt his chest swell with pride due to the sadistic nature of the situation. He liked that you were so afraid of him and that he, more than the others could elicit such a strong reaction from you - only a puppeteer could know his toy that well, know exactly what strings to pull for what; and what is that if not love?
You saw his face unmoved by your sniffling, so as a last resort you pathetically went down on your knees, hands clasping together while incoherent pleas left your mouth.
ââ PleaseâŚplease- donât hurt me. ââ
He crouched and was careful not to show any emotions. ââ Say youâre sorry again. ââ
You looked up at him and he almost became entranced by the look of your teary eyes, glimmering while looking up at him, only him.
ââ Iâm sorry. ââ
ââ Good. ââ His lips twitched. ââ Stand up. ââ
They tugged upwards momentarily when you obeyed. You kept your head down, scared to provoke him, even by doing the slightest of things.
ââ Iâm gonna give you my number. When I text, answer. When I call, answer. ââÂ
He turned his back on you to dig his phone out from a bag thrown on the floor. You got the sudden urge to attack him and then make a run for it, but that wouldnât lead to anything but short satisfaction.
You recollected yourself in time for him turning back and handing you his phone. When youâre done and he took it back impatiently, he stared at the screen for a while. Then he pressed the number and your phone vibrated.
ââ Save it. ââ
You gave a fake smile and nodded. However, seeing as it didnât seem to satisfy him, you quickly did what he asked on the spot.
ââ You can go now. ââ
ââ Already? I havenât really talked to the others, and they donât even have my number except for Sung- ââ you pressed your lips shut.
Although it was slowly starting to wear off, the alcohol had made you ramble again and by the look of dissatisfaction on his face, you could tell he wanted you to shut up.
ââ You donât need those yet. Am I not doing you a favor? ââ he stepped closer, making you automatically back away.
There were only a few meters until youâd back into the wall. You prayed to God that he wouldnât force you to back into it entirely, so he could creep over you.
ââ Do you want to be here? ââ
Your mouth fell open at the horrible accusation. Why would you want to be at the house of one of your bullies, where they all hung around you, taking turns to poke their sticks into your skin to get a reaction?
ââ No. Iâm leaving. ââ
He didnât stop you, but you heard the arrogant scoff and saw the smirk when passing by him anyway. Your angry stomping down the stairs caught the attention of the other guys.
ââ Youâre leaving already? ââ Jake shouted, hurrying to get up so he could follow you.
Ni-ki and Sunoo watched you curiously, not saying anything.
ââ You basically just got here. ââÂ
He tried to pull you into a hug, which you quickly slipped out of, seeing Jungwon standing at the top of the stairs.Â
ââ I said she could go. ââ
His stern voice made Jake freeze and he moved away from you, giving you a small smile which made you raise your eyebrows awkwardly.
ââ Bye. ââ you mumbled, closing the door behind you.
Well that wasâŚweird?Â
*******
ââ Iâm here! ââ
Soobin ran over to greet you, a big grin plastered on his face.
Footsteps approached the hallway and rounding the corner, the owner of them, Yeonjun popped his head out. His smile dropped when seeing you.
ââ Y/n. ââ he said, rather formally.
ââ Yeonjun. ââ
Soobin chuckled. ââ No need to be so awkward. Youâve met before. ââ
You took off your shoes and he strolled off in front of you, making you hurry to follow as you didnât want to be alone with his grumpy older brother.
ââ Are you okay? ââ
ââ Yeah, it wasnât too bad. ââ
He looked relieved and started walking further into the house, waving at Yeonjun to come with and ultimately stopping in the living room.
ââ Maybe we can watch a movie. ââ
ââ Iâm fine with anything. ââ you smiled.
ââ Is this the part where I leave? ââ
ââ Yeonjun! ââ Soobin gasped.
His cute attempt at trying to look stern made you snort.
Meanwhile, his older brother threw his head back and groaned in discontent, plopping down on the couch and crossing his arms in protest.
ââ For how long? ââ
ââ I donât know yet. Donât be rude. ââ
Soobin pressed on the control and the large flat TV screen lit up. You almost ticked your tongue and shook your head. Of course he was a Disney nerd.
He turned around, looking childishly excited, and came over to sit down next to you. The movie quite quickly became forgotten, serving as background noise while you and Soobin passionately fought over the snacks.
ââ Iâll go make you kids some food. ââ Yeonjun said, rolling his eyes at the two of you, and leaving you and Soobin alone in the living room.
Soobin craned his neck to check that his older brother had really left before turning to you. There was something he had wanted to tell you for a long time.
ââ Does he not like me? ââ
He smiled knowingly and shook his head. ââ Itâs not that, I promise. ââ
ââ ThenâŚdid he have a rough childhood or something? ââ you sarcastically joked as you didnât like when people used that as an excuse to be rude.
ââ Something like that. ââ
You caught the way his tone sounded borderline uncomfortable so you cleared your throat awkwardly. ââ Sorry, I was just joking.
ââ His friend got bullied when he was in middle school. Iâm sure he just feels a bit- well, vulnerable around you. ââÂ
You werenât sure how to respond so you just hummed, it was your turn to feel uncomfortable as Soobin was determined to continue no matter what.
ââ He really struggled to see him like that. There wasnât much he could do. When he went to the principal he was shut down, told that it was just â friends playing around â. Later he found out their parents were pretty rich though, and at least one of them was a part of the anti-bullying committee. ââ Soobin shook his head, sighing while a sour expression overtook his face.
ââ If he confronted them, they wouldnât beat him. No, they were different, almost psychos despite being kids. They would bully his friend harder instead, knowing it would push Yeonjun away from him because he wanted to protect his friend. In the end, he was lonely. Everyone he loved watched from a distance, knowing that if they intervened it would get even worse. ââ
ââ What happened after they graduated then? Did he never get his justice or revenge? ââ
Soobin looked away from you, his heart felt heavy.
ââ No. He never did. ââ
Silence filled up the living room. Hearing that both made you feel incredibly sorry for Yeonjun and also anxious for your fate. Would it be the same as that boy? Would Soobin have to suffer the same way - by the sidelines watching helplessly just like his brother?
You raised your head, noticing he wasnât completely finished with his heartbreaking story. He had to hurry because the rummaging in the kitchen had stopped, indicating Yeonjun was on his way back.
ââ It had a very unhappy ending. Remember when I said I recognized the look in your eyes when you were walking to the rooftop? ââ
Your heart sunk. ââ YeahâŚââÂ
Did you even really want to hear the next part?Â
ââ He saw that one night. While walking home from school. So just like I did, he followed his friend to a rooftop. ââ
ââ He wasnât as lucky as you were? ââ you filled in when he got quiet again.
He nodded, a somber look on his face.
ââ But, he didnât jump though. ââ
You frowned.
ââ What? What do you mean? ââ
ââ He was pushed. ââ
This time the silence was deadly, stretching on for several minutes. On the other side of the wall, Yeonjun was leaning against it, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
ââ Did he get justice?
ââ No. Of course not. The rich and powerful always get away with it. Yeonjun went to the police station but when they arrived, a bunch of black cars were already there. Took about ten minutes of inspecting before they concluded it was a suicide. ââ
You felt nauseous.Â
ââ Did heâŚdid he see who pushed him? ââ
ââ Yeah, it was them of course. The worst out of them all did it, and while they all freaked out, he barely flinched. As a solution, they were transferred to different schools in Seoul and it was swept under the rug. Even if Yeonjun wanted to get revenge, it would be almost impossible to find them. ââ
ââ Fuck, thatâs heavy. ââ you leaned back on the sofa and stared at the ceiling, taking in everything that had been said.
ââ I think the worst part is that nobody believed him. ââ you turned and saw that he was crying now, his knuckles were rubbed due to the rage he felt on the inside.
Breathlessly you watched him. You hadnât seen Soobin like this yet.
ââ What do you mean? ââ you softly whispered and tried to reach out for him.
He let you take his hand, and you rubbed his knuckles instead, but in a more calming and loving manner.
ââ Since those fuckers cleaned it up neatly, his parents fought a lot about it. When he told them, crying out and looking for support, his mom didnât believe him, but his dad did. So they got divorced. Then, his dad met my mom. ââÂ
He ruffled his hair and scoffed. ââ Turns out his dad didnât really believe him either after all. One night he got drunk and confessed he had an affair and just wanted a reason for divorce. ââ
Your other hand wrapped around his shoulder.
ââ But you believed him. ââ
Soobin nodded. The endless tears had started to stain his shirt.
ââ Of course I did. Heâs my brother. ââ he mumbled, pain coloring his voice.
ââ Is thatâŚwhy you were so quick to help me? ââ
ââ I thought that if I couldnât help him then, wellâŚââ
Struggling to find the words, you filled in for him. ââ Then you could help others, to prevent it from happening again? ââ
He grimaced. ââ I havenât been successful so far. People donât really believe in me. ââ
You felt his words sting. It hit a little too close to home and you found yourself feeling guilty for doubting him like everyone else had.
ââ Iâm sorry. ââ
Soobin let out an airy laugh, knowing what you were thinking of.
ââ Donât apologize, you let me in the end, didnât you? ââ
You smiled shyly. ââ Yeah. I guess so. ââ
He smiled too, warmth spreading all over his face. But it faded quite suddenly as he had to look away. Why was his heart beating so fast?

No One Wants To Die In The End.
Harry Styles x fem!reader
Summery: United through grief, Harry and Y/n have to navigate the same fates they witnessed as young children as understanding adults. After all, no one wants to die in the end, we can only hope death comes easy for us.
âHas anyone ever survived beyond the death rattle breathing?â
I hear my mother ask in a hushed tone, the nurse who came to send my grandma away giving her a tight lipped smile.
I sit on the bed pretending not to be able to hear them, pretending the sound of my grandma choking on her own saliva is normal and the staggering of her breathing between heavy wheezes isnât concerning while I tell her all about what I learned in fourth grade.
She doesnât remember me, not much anyway. Ever since the illness started taking pieces of her brain, Iâve been stuck in time. She only knows my name now, and my mom warned me on the way here today not to cry if she couldnât even remember that. It was her illness forgetting, not my beloved grandma.
Mom says she loved me with all my heart, and that once the illness passes through her, sheâll remember me again fondly. Iâll get to tell her all about my life and growing up and sheâll understand what Iâm talking about. She wonât give me the blank stare she does now while I hold her hand, and her skin wonât be so frail.
âWe usually recommend getting everything in place by the end of the day. Gather her papers and say your goodbyes. We canât guarantee anything with how much longer sheâll hold out for.â The nurse says, and though my mom doesnât cry, I can see her skin hugging her throat constricting it and the soft fluttering of her wet eyelashes.
My mom pulled me away soon after, telling me to say goodbye. This time felt different though, even at age nine I knew that. So I told my grandma Iâd be back, even if I wasnât sure just because it always made her smile, and I promised to keep dancing around in my pajamas before breakfast like she loved.
That day at school, the one after I left my grandma with hundreds of promises to live freely and trust with my heart, I found my mother sat out on the front steps by our old white porch with her head in my hands.
âHi mama. Can I go to Megans?â I had asked her cheerfully, excited about seeing my best friend, my neighbor and my sister.
Mom had this sad look in her eyes, one that told me to come close without her having to say it. And as I stood between her bent knees and felt her hands on my hips, I saw her shake her head.
âY/n/n, grandma didnât make it, baby.â She declared softly, and at the time I didnât know how to process it, the idea of someone being gone forever. As mom told me how she had only left for a minute to go home and shower and came back to my grandma unresponsive in her sleep, I didnât think about the fact that my grandmaâs laugh would fade with the years, but rather how sad it was that she had to go alone. I prayed selfishly under my breath that I would have someoneâs hand to hold when I went, that my rotting body would mean more than any shower ever could.
I didnât tell mom this, my feelings on the death of grandma, the death of her mom, so I did what I knew how to do best, and I ran, begging softer this time to be able to go across the street just until dinner.
When I got there, I was greeted by Megan, and she looked sad. Thatâs how most people in my life seemed to look these past few hours, ever since the way my grandma breathed changed.
She pulled me into a hug and cried on my shoulder, promising to be there for me always, that it would get better. At the time I didnât get it, why my best friend as a child would feel so much grief for a woman she barely knew, how she could feel so much more than I did, but grief hits differently in every person, I wished that someday Iâd be able to process it openly instead of suppressing it somewhere Iâd never find it. I wished that someday Iâd learn how to cry.
Grandma didnât get a funeral, they stuffed her ashes into a pretty vase with golden birds and her favorite flowers and held the wake early in the morning. Most of her friends Iâd never met. It was a small service, a slow one. I spent most of my time playing hide and seek with my cousins and stealing the mints the funeral home left out for guests while my mother cried shaking each guests hand.
âHow should we send out the letters?â My mom whispered to my father quietly, like it was something she didnât want her children to know about.
âWhatâs the difference? Word spreads fast about people like him.â
People like him, thatâs how my dad worded it. People like him, veterans who fought in a war they couldnât even remember by the end of their lives and refused to replace the old wood paneling on their living room walls from the eighties.
My grandpa was the definition of people like him, he had lived enough lives to grow in white hairs by fourteen years old. Fighting alongside Elvis in the war and dancing with his dying wife in the afternoon.
I never met grandma, my dad said cancer took her before I was born, he says thatâs why my name is the way it is, she picked it. But, I did meet grandpa.
He had white hair and a soft stomach from all the Swedish meatballs he made in his spare time. War does funny things like that to a man, make someone so against cooking love the simplicity of it, the safety of food consuming him.
I never really liked his Swedish meatballs, I didnât like how he made them without sauce, when I was ten my world revolved around marinara sauce.
When I was twelve years old, I remember missing the softness of my grandpas stomach when he hugged me and the lingering smell of Swedish meatballs in his kitchen at dinner time. Which was weird because I never liked it before, but maybe my nose had changed while grandpa was changing in his own ways.
Cancer seemed to run in the family, something that was so small nobody ever suspected it was invading their bodies until the doctors became frantic to get it out.
My grandpa has bright white hair before his treatment, and small silver glasses perches on his swollen nose while he sat in his old brown chair and watched his grandkids school plays through the CDâs my parents would send him.
What a lonely life to live as he got older. The death of his wife and the absence of his grandchildren as they became less and less interested in family time and more focused on running outside freely with their friends.
I was so sidetracked I didnât even know when grandpa died right away. Not until my father sat down on the coffee table in front of the couch where I laid with my mother rubbing his back slowly, a heavy look on his wrinkled face.
âGrandpa passed last night, Harry. He loved you very much.â
I didnât cry as my father spoke, simply nodding before walking to my room to toy with my baseball cards and gameboy. I didnât cry thinking about his passing, which confused me because I was twelve. I understood what death meant and how there was no one who had the power to reverse it, but I felt incapable of crying.
I went to school the next morning like my parents hadnât told me the news, and my history teacher pulled me out into the hall during second period. He looked sad for me, his hands on my shoulders as he told me he would give me all the time I needed, not to try snd jump back into normalcy during such a tough time.
It made me feel embarrassed, which felt weird considering the context. I felt fine, completely indifferent to something I should have been breaking down over. But I guess grief is weird like that, and I wish I had the strength to be weak.
Grandpa had a big funeral, open casket with formal attire. He didnât look like grandpa with all that makeup on him. I wanted to open his eyelids to see the colors in his eyes one last time. But thatâs unacceptable to do, so I simply kneeled by the casket and prayed for him.
A big black limo took us from the boiling hot church to the graveyard where uniformed men loaded their guns and fired at the sky in honor of my grandpa. The smoke smelled like the low tide at the beach, and some people Iâd never seen before sobbed a few rows behind me.
A lot of people showed up for grandpa, veterans from around the country and school friends from when he still had all his youth. Looking around at the crowd, I hoped I too would be able to make such a big impact on so many people. I selfishly prayed under my breath that one day Iâd too have a large funeral. That people would care enough to come and cry for me because I would matter that much.
âWhen did you find out?â Harry asked softly, his large hand capturing mine in a paw-like grip over my knuckles.
I swallowed, wondering when I suspected it in comparison to when I finally got the guts to ask someone for help.
âIâve known for a while, probably since I was nine. It runs in the family, you know? All these health issues that eat away at our brains?â I laughed, but neither of us found it funny, not when I ran my fingers through my hair to calm down and chunks cane out between my knuckles.
âI just thought Iâd be gifted more time, thought biology would be kinder to my bones.â
Harry looks at me with a broken stare, one that hits me in the heart. We both tear up, but neither of us cry. We are our parents, we are the spitting image of them sitting us down to break the news. But at least they went peacefully, right? I know no peace, but still I donât cry for myself, I feel too pathetic to even try.
âDid I do something wrong?â I ask, looking bitterly at the youthful green eyes in front of me, how his curly hair seems even more vibrant than nearly a decade ago. He ages backwards and I am already one foot out of the door.
Harry shakes his head.
âYou did everything right.â He tells me, fingers pulling the hair from my hands to hide it behind his back.
âThen why do I feel like I have?â
âNobody wants to die in the end, Y/n/n. Itâs a game of chance, each day we live we gamble on how long we have left. Some people search for that end and others stumble on it accidentally, itâs just the chances.â
When he puts it like that, it makes me feel even worse, knowing how quickly Iâll be gone. How Iâve failed my future children Iâll never get to have, my husband who would have loved me Iâm sure, and my poor old dog who waits by the food bowl only to find it empty each day Iâm gone.
âI donât like these chances.â I laugh with tears in my eyes, hands holding onto his as our forehead touch, my best friend holding me like no one ever has, not even Megan, who had long grownup into a woman I barely knew, a friend who drifted from me when we were thirteen and cried to her mother about how she missed me when she was sixteen.
Megan held me when my grandma died that day when I was nine, and I was confused as to why she was so sad, but with Harry holding me now, I understand it all better.
âIâm only twenty nine, Harry. At least my grandmothers dementia took away the intense pain of remembering what she was leaving behind.â
âAnd she lived not knowing who her daughter was for the rest of her life. She must have been so alone.â
I look down at my lap, my palms still pressed against his.
âIâd never forget you, even if my memory starts to go. Iâll never forget you because youâre too important to forget.â Harry smiles when I say that, pulling his hands away from mine to tap his chest quietly.
âAnd Iâd never forget you, even when Iâm old and crazy. Iâll keep photos of us on my walls and talk to them when I get bored.â He promised me, the dull light from the sun making the once lavish room feel less like a clean living room and more like a cold hospital.
As the months pass, my hair has been traded for one of Harryâs favorite hats. My shirts switched out for backless gowns with blue dots on the paper like material. My arms are not decorated with the same ink as Harry, but wires and tubes that come from the table beside my hospital bed.
I am twenty nine, but I must look about sixty now with how tired I am from simply trying to steal back the life that was ripped from me unfairly.
And as I fight to keep up with the beeping of the monitors hooked up beside me, I feel my throat rejecting my saliva and my sick coughs stuck behind my teeth.
I heat the same cracking sounds that my grandmother made when I was nine, and I feel relaxed knowing now that it doesnât hurt to breathe this way, not right now anyway.
And in the silence I can hear an echo of my motherâs words from outside my door, her feminine voice exchanged for the deep one Iâd grown rather fond of.
âHas anyone ever survived beyond the death rattle breathing?â
Harry asks in a hushed tone, the nurse different but her answer just the same.
âWe usually recommend getting everything in place by the end of the day. Gather her papers and say your goodbyes. We canât guarantee anything with how much longer sheâll hold out for.â
Itâs happening again, the spirit leaving my bones to join everyone Iâve ever loved before, my father and my grandma. My mother and my old cousins. I only wished I didnât have to leave Harry behind, I wished I could dance with him in our college dorms just one more time like we used to, and set fire to the box mac and cheese just one last time.
I remember everything about Harry, the nurse warning that my image of him might waver as my blood begins to slow under the skin. She tells him not to worry when my skin gets cold, itâs natural for people to cool down as their heart gives out.
Harry comes in and holds my hand, pretending the sound of my breathing doesnât bother him and the sound of me choking on my own saliva is normal and the staggering of my breathing between heavy wheezes isnât concerning while he swears to every single higher power he can think of that Iâll be okay.
And I believe him.
Because while he holds my hand in death, heâs fulfilled the one wish I prayed so hard for a a kid. The one selfish wish I made for myself in a time of need.
When I was nine, standing between my mothers legs with my nails between my teeth I prayed selfishly under my breath that I would have someoneâs hand to hold when I went, that my rotting body would mean more than any shower ever could.
And here Harry was nearly two decades later, holding my hand and promising serenity in the afterlife.
What he doesnât know is that I am one of the lucky ones. Even after my heart has stopped, I am given one last gift as an apology for such a short life. I am given an extra second of my brain living on, the soft cries of âI love youâsâ from Harry the last thing I hear as my dying gasp is cut short from my death rattle breathing.
I have a small service, Harry and some college friends standing in line shaking the hands of the few guests who walk by to look at my body. My nephews and nieces play hide and seek with each other until the ceremony was over, mints stuffed deep in their pockets as they filed out of the funeral home like nothing had happened.
Being famous is weird, especially after a loved one has passed.
We send out prayers to the families of those affected, the media says, but how has the death of this person affected Harry? How has Y/nâs slipping away crushed him beyond belief? Will he dedicate his next album to her?
They donât care about Y/n, they only care about how she makes a good headline for their companies, and it makes me sick to think about. How they profit off of my grief while I try to stop memorizing the sound of her broken sigh as she went.
I wonder if I was enough for her during her final days. If my touch was enough to cure her for just a brief second.
Itâs no wonder I turned to move-on pills. Ones that lift me up and break me down further until I am face up on the bathroom floor we once shared, my eyes wide as I choke on my breathing and count how many times the lights multiply as I look up to the sky.
Itâs not a shock that the headlines are out by the end of the day, the sirens enough to alert all of Hollywood of my dying dreams and my perfect execution.
My family stands in a line while they put my casket into the hearse, makeup on my face like they put on my grandpa, I can barely recognize myself as I watch the funeral service from another space.
And as they bury me under the ground, the media announces their grief and well wishes to all that attended and the millions watching from their televisions.
As a kid, I hoped I too would be able to make such a big impact on so many people. I selfishly prayed under my breath that one day Iâd too have a large funeral. That people would care enough to come and cry for me because I would matter that much.
But now that itâs happening, I only care for one thing, I only asked for one thing in the letter I left behind. Lay me beside my best friend, so I can keep holding her hand through death, and we can laugh in the afterlife like we did when we were healthy, happy, and together.

Of Mean & Mice (Dark! Rafe Cameron x Reader)
Summary: College student y/n is invited to a girls' night by classman Sarah Cameron. All is not what it seems when she assaulted by Sarah older brother, who just happens to be staying at their parents house at the same time.
AU. Everyone is College-aged or older. 18+ thank you.
Warning: NONCON, assault and dark Rafe.
Rafe Cameron threw his empty beer can into the sand; the typically humid air has chilled as winter nears in the Outer Banks.
"Fuck you Sarah; you owe me." He tossed the "adult" photos of his sister into the bonfire. He didn't like her too much, regardless, he never wanted to see naked photos that her scorned ex had taken without her knowledge.
"I know, you asshole. I'm thinking." Sarah crossed her arms and sat into the sand with a defeated sigh.
"You could think faster; it wasnt easy to get Topper to give up those pics. My current supply of Coke - fucking gone." He said, pulling a pack of cigarettes & a lighter out of his pocket.
Sarah thought back to the moment the photos were taken. She had been waiting for that moment with John B. It was suppose to be special; and it was, until Topper had gotten sloppy with the flash of his camera. The heat of her and John B's skin, the longing in each others' eyes was replaced by panic and aggression for the pervert that ran from the bushes he had been hiding in.
Rafe noticed the single tear fall down Sarah's cheek. He didn't feel bad for her; but he was frustrated at the situation Topper had put all of them in. Kelce's poor taste in humor made the situation even more aggravating. The glance at the photos had him flustered but not because of his sister, that'd be disgusting. He could tell Sarah was distraught more than usual and felt that this was finally the time where he'd be owed something from someone else.
It had been a lifetime since he felt this powerful. Yeah, Rafe had money, drugs and Women whenever and wherever he wanted but as he has gown older; nearing 30, he knew he felt a loss for something that had never existed in his heart.
Real Love.
Rafe scoffed at the stupidest, fucking idea he ever had. It'd never be possible for him to find someone that would love him. But he could force someone; but who? Some of these whores were too willing & eager to share Rafe's bed. Only because of the weight of his families name and the weight of his bank account.
He shook his head; realistically, he knew he was no saint himself but he knew how to use his resources and powers to his favor. Above all, he loved to dangle it above others' heads.
"Find me a girl Sarah. Anyone. Not ugly, please. But someone who looks like shed be easy to tell what to do and say." He said, looking into the deep, dark sky.
Sarah shook her head and chuckled slightly, "You're fucking messed up but fine. I don't where to start though...." She glanced at her brother who was lighting a cigarette.
"Just fucking do it. Thats what you'll owe me. You have a week or I let Topper release the backup photos he probably has somewhere." Rafe looked back at his sister while taking a long inhale of his smoke.
Rafe felt good as the rush of nicotine hit him. He desired change.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/n sat at the instructor droned on about the class issue. Today she wasn't particularly attentive with the health of her father in mind. She and him didn't start off with a great relationship but since he's come back into her and her mothers life; both of them have made and effort to be civil.
When the past started to dissolve into nothing and the future seemed possible, all was lost when her dad went to the doctors for some stomach issues that have turned out to be a large problem than once believed.
On top of all that, she had noticed some stares from a girl in class. Sarah; Y/n thought. She was rather pretty but seemed kinda bitchy through her disinterested & entitled tone she typically spoke in. But the stares weren't mean; her eyes were bright and teeth as white as the moon shone at her from time to time. It was odd because this never happened before.
At the chime of the clock, the instructor put down his pointer and dismissed all of them. (Y/n) gathered her papers and stuffed them into an already full backpack.
The shame from falling behind her assignments felt heavy but Y/n couldnt bring herself to lift a pencil to a paper with the rest of the world on her shoulders.
A tap on her shoulder made her heart speed up as she twirled around to see 'Sarah' standing behind her with a wide smile.
Y/n glanced around the nearly empty classroom but it seemed she really was the one Sarah was waiting on.
When y/n didn't say anything Sarah rolled her eyes, "Hey i'm Sarah. Listen I'm having a girl only bonfire friday and I'm inviting alot of girls in my classes. I thought I might as well ask you so.....do you wanna go?" Sarah handed her flyer with an address and clip art on it.
Before y/n could answer as the Un-comfortability of being singled out dawned upon her; Sarah dismissed any possibility of a 'no'.
"Please come. It'll be fun and much better than whatever you already had planned. Think about it and text me by midnight." Sarah asked and hurried out of the room.
Multiple thoughts crossed y/n's mind as she head to her car in the parking lot. There were still 2 classes left but the overwhelming social possibilities along with the stuff that already had her mind in a headlock weighed against her. She had no mental capacity for anything new.
While her home was silent and dark; Y/n thought about the uncertainty of it all. Her parents were at the hospital for another check up and she offered to join but they wanted her to focus in school and asked her to stay away.
As the numbers on her phone changed and the sky got darker; y/n decided to take a once in a lifetime chance before she fully decided society was not worth participating in all-together.
Slowly, y/n practiced her text message before forcing herself to hit send. A rapid heartbeat cause the girl to down a bottle of water and look to the deep blue evening sky as she hoped that she'd get to feel better for atleast one night.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sarah was painting her last toenail when her phone screen lit up. On the surface was a speech bubble by an unsaved number that read, "This is Y/n L/n from school. I'd like to go to your party."
Sarah felt giddy by the politeness of the message; she felt deeply that this goody-goody mouse that always sat in the back of the class and away from everyone would be perfect to fulfill the end of her bargain that she owed to her horny brother.
Sarah texted Rafe not a second later with the picture she snuck of Y/n in class. "This is her. Tomorrow night." Sarah typed. A sigh of relief as she plopped down the phone but still a bundle of nervous in her stomach as she waited her brothers approval.
Three dots appeared under her own speech bubble. Sarahs eyes tried to see into her brothers mind for some peace but was elated at his response.
"Okay".
He liked Y/n (rather the potential that she held) and Sarah had felt she had done something right for once.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/n was in a car with several other women she'd seen on campus a few times. Sarah had called her in the morning with an offer to have Y/n picked up by some other girls that were coming.
Y/n wasnt totally comfortable with idea but Sarah insisted.
When they reached Sarah's home; the large mansion was a beautiful sight to behold. And y/n had never felt smaller than she had now; but little did she know that the mysterious face in the upper window would force her to feel the smallest she's ever been in just a few hours.
Y/n had been instructed to carry in some of the girls bags; she agreed to be nice but not without noticing the mocking chuckles from the women slapping their flip flops into the house.
As she entered into the front room alone; y/n stopped to admire the beauty of the house. It was an elegance she had never seen in modern homes, realizing that the house was probably historic.
One of the bag feel from her overwhelmed arms and fell to the ground.
"Shit." Y/n said while trying to grab it but a hand reached out of nowhere and grabbed it from the ground.
She followed the hand to it's owner; a handsome young man with beautiful blue eyes and a strong jaw line greeted her with a half smile.
Y/n stared, not knowing what to say.
"You're welcome. Sarah's room is upstairs and I'll show you the way." The male said already heading up the stairs, silently expecting her to follow.
Y/n followed, unsure of what the next move should actually be.
The bags were thrown inside of Sarah's bedroom and the pair stood in silence.
"Are you special needs or what?" The male asked with impatient eyes.
Y/n shook her head, "No. Sorry I just....What's your name?" Y/n asked, still taken aback by the subtle beauty of the man before her.
The guy scoffed, "Rafe. Sarah's brother. I have my own apartment but I'm staying here for the holiday break." he said as he sounded offended Y/n didn't already know that.
"I'm Y/n....y/n" She said with a slight stutter; embarrassed that she, as a 22 year old woman was still nervous when talking to men, alone.
Rafe nodded and yawned. Without a word, he walked away and disappeared down the long corridor.
Y/n felt disappointed that she couldn't keep the conversation going but figured that it was all just a fluke. There was a big fire, food and loud music to have fun with and she'd try her best to blend in.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1am, everyone was in Sarah's room. It'd been so long since Y/n had been surrounded by girls her age that she was willing to go with almost anything to feel good and wanted just this one night.
Sarah challenged this saying that Y/n's modest pajamas wouldn't do and that she needed something "Sexier" which y/n thought was weird (to be honest) but she wanted to fit in so Sarah handed her a pile of clothing and had Y/n change.
It was bittersweet. Not what she expected in either direction. It was a large t-shirt that went to her mid thighs (nothing but pebbled nipples and her underwear underneath) and a pair of long, shin length white socks. Uncomfortably, it reminded her of the socks her father would wear to work years ago.
When she emerged out of the bathroom, the women smiled. "You look adorable!" Sarah said while grabbing Y/n's shoulder.
Y/n had noticed just how cat-like Sarah was up-close. Suspicious eyes and lithe reflexes. "I was wondering could you go get us something? Sofia spilled her chips on the ground and I need a cloth to get it out of the carpet?"
Without thinking, Y/n nodded. All eyes in the room were on her. Sarah squeezed the womans' shoulders and said thank you.
"Turn left, down the hallway and a few doors. The last one at the end is the linen closet." Sarah said, turning her back to Y/n.
Y/n tip toed into the dark hallway; thinking about how embarrassing if any of Sarah's family saw a girl with no pants or bra on, rummaging through their personal property.
Y/n opened the door she thought was the closet but instead opened to Rafe, the young man from earlier, sitting at his desk, typing at the computer.
He glanced up from his work and saw Y/n standing there in the exact outfit he told Sarah to make her wear. God. He never imagined such a fantasy actually get to play out.
Go time.
Y/n face felt white hot as she and the eldest Cameron stared at each-other. "I'm sorry!" Y/n said, not knowing where to look or how to act.
"I thought this was the linen closet." Y/n said, about to close the door before Rafe answered.
He chuckled and stood from his desk, "It's alright. You're exactly where you need to be." He said closing in on the innocent woman.
Before she could comprehend what was happening, Rafe pulled Y/n in by the wrist and shut the door with a slam. Turning the lock in place.
In her head, Y/n asked what was going on but for whatever reason she stayed silent. But her mind screamed for her to run.
Rafe shook his head and walked toward the girl; like a lion stalking his next food. "You really don't think Sarah Cameron just invited you, a nobody, to hang out with her. Did you?" His eyes narrowed as his body glistened in the bit of moonlight showing through the window.
It didnt take a rocket scientist to put 2 + 2 together. More than ever, Y/n felt stupid. The realization that this may have been a prank dawned upon her.
"Now listen. This is gonna go one two ways. You either lay on your back and let me do whatever I want or I hold you down while I do what I want. You should feel grateful you're getting a choice at all." Rafe said, proudly but soft. His eyes were soft but his demeanor held an aura of temptation and daring. It was obvious that he liked 100% control regardless of his mates' feelings.
Y/n weighed her options. She knew she couldn't over power that tall, slender but muscular man before her. However she did have a voice and opened her mouth to scream.
Rafe slapped his hand against the girls mouth with a rough pat. "You can scream but they're not gonna help you. They know why you'll be screaming have been instructed to mind their fucking business. I'd save your voice anyway. Youll be screaming my name plenty soon enough." He said, a stern and scary look on his face.
Y/n backed up with Rafe forcefully pushing her forward until she fell on her back; she reached down to make sure her shirt was covering her intimate parts.
"Awww, look at you. You do know that's my shirt right? Its obviously too big for Sarah but I guess you were too stupid to figure that out before now." He said, looking ready to consume her whole at any given second.
As more things made sense, so did Y/n's fears. She rarely had courage so how she managed to say, "Please, don't do this...." In a choppy, emotion sentence was a step farther than she ever had taken.
Rafe thought how pitiful she looked with a line of tears ready to spill and that small voice that squeaked out delicate pleas. Something about her meekness made him feel powerful. He was in charge and he'd decide what happens to her. Though, for the first time in a long time, he felt his heart beat differently. Deeper.
Not a second later, he dove down, planting kisses on any visible surface of skin. From her neck to her thighs; she'd be marked in love bites. His marks. Y/n made a valiant effort to push Rafe off her person but he was much stronger than her. As is she didnt already know that.
"You're amusing but you're no match for me, cutie. Why don't you just lay there and take what I have to give you, hmm?" He said, tilting his chin up like a king looking down at a peasant.
A tear slid down y/n's cheek as Rafe abused her body. He roughly grabbed everywhere he could; he bit, kissed and chewed on anything he wanted. Y/n thought back to her parents and what they'd say if they saw her on her back, letting a strange man use her this way. They had instilled certain morals in her and to some degree she felt guilty not following those morals.
In a feat of conjured strength, Y/n bit down hard on the skin of Rafe's cheek. Her moment of people a defensive lioness what cut short with a hard slap, nearly punch, to the face by her assailant.
He was livid at the audacity she had to reject his love-making and slapped even harder the second time. She had wanted to bruise him so he was make sure he left his mark on her skin.
"You stupid fucking bitch!" He slapped a third time at the girl streamed tears down her face.
"I'm sorry! Please stop!" Y/n tried to squeak out but her soft voice drowned in the violence Rafe forcing on her.
"No no no, it's too late for that. I gave you the option for this to be gentle both ways but you had to fucking ruin it. You get no say now." Rafe pointed down at her before sucking on her neck twice as hard, like a vampire trying to draw blood.
Rafe grabbed y/n and spun her around ,onto her stomach and lifted the shirt over her ass. He took his time caressing and smoothing his hands over every acre of skin and over every curve like she was a piece of pottery. He moan and voiced awe while feeling her.
Still wanting to be let out, Y/n pleaded once more. "I'm sorry! I really am!! I promise I won't tell anyone about this and I'll never bother you or your sister again!" She cried.
Rafe shushed the girl, "You were chosen for me and I'm gonna take the opportunity to see if you're a good fit princess. Sarah doesn't matter in this coupling. It's about me and you. And you're going to let me, your master, figure you out." He said, sliding his finger around her folds like he'd touch a garden flower.
Sounds of despair came from Y/n in an effort to mask the little pleasure she was receiving from this violation.
Rafe was transfixed on her pink, plump skin. Every freckle, piece of hair and patch of discoloration made this artwork special. The tight feeling in his crotch telling him to hurry his admiration up. The lion wanted out of his cage; he's hungry.
Rafe smacked the girls bottom before unzipping and shedding his pants and boxers. Rafe felt the inside of y/n's shirt, enjoying the curve of her breast and plumpness of her nipples while his penis stood at attention.
"You're fucking beautiful. I hope it's alright that tonights mostly about me. We'll have a night for you soon but this first date is all about my dick getting to know the inside of you." Rafe said while using the tip to touch the delicate folds and skin.
He purposely spread the small bits of pre-cum on her intimate area as the first sign of marking before handling his shaft before the tip entered her cunt.
Rafe was struck with the feeling of heaven, not all the way in and yet his insides were purring away. He didn't want to wait anymore. He shoved forward without consideration for the girl underneath him. Fully sheathed inside, it was a five star stay at an exotic hotel where he'd be the only customer for the rest of his life.
"God, you feel so fucking good. Where have you been hiding princess?" Rafe asked, his large hand holding her down but his thumb gently rubbed her cheek before switching his movement to fully on.
In an aggressive thrust, Rafe began to move like a panther after his meal. There was no mercy in any movement. His heat, her slickness; his size, her submissiveness felt like they were one with human nature. For the first time, Rafe carnal desire was met with a romantic twist. The desire for a connection that meets both ways. He didn't know this woman; maybe she wasn't worth the effort.
But the way her pussy clenched around his dick made him think she was really meant to be him and he'd have to give Sarah props. This would be his girl, and if she behaved properly; a wife and mother.
But for right now, Rafe focused on fucking the shit out of her. He purposefully banged and hit as hard as he could. He wanted to see pain and pleasure. He grabbed her waist and brought her down to the base of his dick with little to no mercy. He wanted her fully with no space left unexplored by him.
The girls meek voice brought him back to reality, "Are you wearing a condom?" She asked, as if not wanting to upset him.
His eyes softened on the creature below him. She already had a small bruise forming under her eye where he'd harmed her. There was a sick pleasure in knowing that is his mark on her but he wasnt entirely a demon and felt some guilt.
Back on topic, no he wasnt wearing a condom; he didn't want to wear one with her. Rafe never had to deal with consequences because Ward would throw money at it, and it disappear.
Rafe didn't answer her; the panic added to feeling. He didn't owe her an answer. He decided he practically owned her now. Women in the past were just bodies; pleasure givers, holes at best. He always saw them as something to be conquered but with Y/n he wanted to own her; mind, body and soul.
Rafe sped up causing her to scream in both pleasure and pain. It only made Rafe feel hotter. Once he knew he had reached his limit, he bottomed out hard as he could; staying attached to the woman as long as he could before his size fell limp once more.
Looking down was a tearful girl trying to pick herself up after being violated. Before Rafe could do anything, she pushed him aside and fled the scene. Rafe looked after her but didnt follow, still feeling the blissful aftermath the coupling. No matter where she went, what she said or who she hid behind; Rafe would be there to claim her again.
This was a new game to him and he just casted the first dice.

Killer Cookie
A/n: I finally finished and I donât know what else to say but I hope you love reading this since itâs the last part
Word count: 3.3k
summary: You get into a fight at school and Hailey helps you and your brother to stop fighting
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ It was a chilly, no⌠freezing day in Chicago. It was snowing but not as much currently because the storm is supposed to hit later tonight.
You decided to walk to the firehouse instead of riding the bus because you didnât feel like hearing everyone screaming whenever the bus would almost crash, even though you were one of those people with your friends.
Your class won a food party because they collected the most votes on the door decoration contest. Luckily none of the food had strawberries. Because you are deathly allergic to strawberries and always needed an EpiPen with you just in case.
Which reminded you to tell Will or Jay that you needed a new one since you lost your last one when you went out sledding with them.
But when you opened your locker to get your backpack and Jacket there was a box of chocolate chip cookies.
~inside the box
donât worry thereâs no strawberries,Â
-secret admire ;)
You screamed internally because you lived for Chocolate chip cookies, and you had a secret admirer?
***Â
On your way home you were starving since you didnât eat much at school, only really some fries from the restaurant.
So you decided to eat 2 cookies and let everyone else fight for the rest, they were yours after all.Â
Opening the box carefully so you didnât drop the box and whatever was in your hands.
You shoved the whistle cookie in your mouth. You may do girl things but you eat like a grown man, especially a football player.
Not even 10 seconds after swallowing the cookie your throat started to feel dry and you couldnât breathÂ
(Give me a break today this is all going to be in mine right now)
âShit. Thereâs no strawberries in these, unless.â You picked up a cookie and broke it in half. âWhat kind of psycho put strawberries in chocolate? I- I need to get t-to the houseâ
***
You basically pushed everyone aside who tried to greet you and rushed to the kitchen.
âAyy, Y/n howâs my favorite Halstead sibling doingâ Kelly joked
Jay hit Kelly in the elbow hard. âC'mon man it was a joke, I can have favoritesâ
âNah, I see how it is, guess Iâm never bringing food over here again. And you can keep Y/n forever thenâ Jay shrugged.
âI was just trying to cheer her up, she looks upsetâ Kelly usually payed attention to
Your face whenever you came in. He would know if it was ok to make jokes or he needed to pull you to the side and talk to you. Right now you are upset but thatâs because you werenât processing anything.
But clearly ignoring everyone was for nothing because you barely made it to your drawer of the kitchen before you fell and your backpack cushioned your fall.
At least you didn't hit your head.
âY/n you good?â Jay stood up from the chair he was sitting at. This was so unlike you. You always came in and said âHiâ or âHelloâ to everyone whether or not you were having a bad day
âY/n?⌠SHIT Y/N!âJay screamedÂ
âTake her back pack off,â Matt said. âWhatâs wrong with her? She turning blueâ. Someone elseâs voice came out from the other 10 voices.
âGive her CPR or somethingâ Jay spoke as Kelly was rubbing your sternum.
âJay we donât know whatâs wrong with her let alone why sheâs turning blue it could be the coldâ Kelly said âcmon y/n come back to usâ
âI DONT CARE TJATS MY FUCKING SISTER WHOS DYING.â Jay roared.
Hailey practically runs in due to all the commotion with Stella and Sylvie right behind her
Sylvie and Stella ran over to you and started assessing you while Stella started CPR.
Hailey walked over your bag which was thrown a few feet away from you and decided to go pick it up, to help out.
Hailey picked up the box and your backpack so it was out of the way but when she looked in the box she saw something that she thought you wouldnât have.Â
âShit, where does Y/n keep all her stuff in hereâ Hailey was looking at both Sylvie and Stella but she hoped at least both of them would answer.
âUhh bottom drawer far leftâ
Hailey rummaged through the draw until she found a tube with a bright orange tip. And sprinted to you and pushed everyone out of the way.
As everyone was yelling at Hailey like she was crazy she rolled up your pant legs and Jabbed the Epi Pen in the middle of your thigh.
âHAILEY ARE YOU CRAZY? WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH HERâ Jay screamedÂ
âStrawberries- she had strawberriesâ She sighed
***
My head feels like itâs underwater
Everything seems so muffledÂ
What-what happened?
Your eyes flutter open and immediately shut them due to the light.
âC'mon y/n come on back to usâ a soft voice says
âGive her space guysâ as time goes on the voices get louder and it forces you to open your eyes.Â
âJust rest, weâre not gonna push you to talk, weâll talk at home. Weâre gonna leave soonâ
Hailey had to go home while you were passed out because she had an early shift tomorrow so Will drove over to the firehouse to come and get both you and Jay.
âHow is she?â Jay looked in his rear view mirror to see you guys.
Will checked your pulse again and looked at the watch on his wrist âher pulse is better but her breathing is slow, I might give her oxygen when we get homeâ
âWhy would she eat strawberries?âÂ
âThey were cookie Jay, maybe she didnât know. It happensâÂ
âWell it better have been an accident or me her are gonna have a serious talkâ Jay grumbledÂ
âDonât be to harsh on herâ
****
You woke up around 5:30 am and couldnât go back to sleep, and the one thing you hated the oxygen.
Youâd much rather have the nasal one but you canât exactly argue with adults on whatâs better for your health so you just have to deal with the mask.Â
Eventually it got hot and you got bored since you couldnât find your phone. You assumed it was still at the firehouse or Jay had it.
You dragged your little tank/ machine across the room and grabbed your comforter (the very top blanket on your bed) and your pillows and one stuffed animal and stuffed them into the bathtub and you found your laptop and you put on your favorite show.
This was better than being in your bed.Â
Will woke up to the sounds of Jay screaming in his ear. So much for trying to sleep in.
âWake up, Y/nâs gone sheâs not in her bedâ Jay almost screamed at the top of his lungs.
âAre you crazy? Check her bathroom, I found her sleeping in there one time after a reaction and I heard sounds coming from there this morningâ Will turned his back to Jay.
Jay ran into your bathroom which was connected to your bedroom and what he saw made his heart melt.Â
***Â
âHereâs the real story, the PTO had a cookie drive where you could buy cookies for your friends and stuff like that and they would put it in your locker and we would find them, mine had a note that just said that âthanks for being great friend, donât worry thereâs no strawberriesâ Okay, so maybe you lied a little but itâs better than jay beating up some poor boy.
âDid it say from who?â Jay asked in his detective tone
âNope, and Iâm pretty sure Hailey told me she threw the box away while I was passed outâ you shrugged.
âI guess itâs fine, maybe the PTO forgot. Itâs not like anyone hurt you on purpose so it's fine. Right jayâ Will sent Jay that look to just drop this subject this one time.
âYeah rightâŚâ Jay picked at his pancakes. He wanted to look into it more but Hailey would kill him.
But⌠the laughing and the image of you guys faded into his mind.
Flashback end⌠(WHAT?!??)
Will realized it, it was Milly. Milly was somewhat an old friend of yours and he remembered the day you said you told her that you were allergic to strawberries when she was over. Youâve only been allergic for around a year and half. There hadnât been anyone else you told.Â
Except for MillyâŚ
Will shot up from the couch, grabbed his keys from the bowl and ran outside to his car.
Will attempted to call Jay but he didnât answer. So he was probably out with Hailey.Â
âJay when you get this meet me at the Jail they have Y/n immediately. Thereâs not a lot of timeâÂ
***
âUhh yeah, I just opened my locker and they were there. I didnât think anything of it, I guess I was just excitedâ You shrugged.
âDid you tell anyone else about your allergy other than Millyâ Jay spoke
âNo, not until after the incident, I honestly donât remember much from that day, but I don't really care to be honest.â You shrugged once again.
âY/n listen to me, youâre going to have another court date. Youâre going to tell everyone exactly what you told us. Weâll get security footage from the school and weâll also get statements from everyone at the houseâ Youâre lawyer was pretty strict and prescient on getting you out.
It wasnât the first time someone has gone against Milly in court and youâre lawyer had won 4 cases against 2Â
***
1 year and 7 months ago
âWell well well isnât it the detective's little sister?âÂ
âWhat did I do not milly?â You sighed.
âNothing, I just wanna make your life a living hell. Your brother is horrible and if I canât do anything to him I might as well hurt whatâs best to him, his little sister-.â Milly had a smirk on her face.
âPlease Milly, Iâm just trying to fix my makeupâ you rolled your eyes and looked back at the mirror.
âLetâs see if make up can fix thisâ before you could ask her what she meant when you felt stinging on your right eye.
âWHAT THE FUCK MILLY, WHATS YOUR PROBLEM?â You screamed.
âItâs not you I have a problem with. Itâs your brother's little squad.â She spits as the rest of her group come in and corner you.
A kick from behind throws you to the ground.Â
As you try to fight back Milly and get friends they overpower you as itâs 1v5Â
(And yes this happened at my school but in the hallwaysâ¤ď¸)
After a few more kicks to the stomach one of the girls speaks up.Â
âLetâs go, donât kill her.â
âYouâre off the hook for now Halstead.â She kicks you once more in the stomach and you cry out in pain.
***
As soon as you got home you peaked behind the wall to see if Jay was watching Tv to make sure the coast was clear. NothingÂ
You ran to your room and to your bathroom.
You pulled open your draw of Makeup and crabbed your concealer.Â
(I donât wear much makeup yet so give me break on how it worksđ)
âY/n? Are you good in there?â Jay knocked on the door
âYeah, yeah just fixing somethingâ you repliedÂ
âAlright, Will called and asked if you wanted to go out for dinnerâÂ
That made you freeze. You canât go out like this⌠Will and Jay could tell the signs of when you used too much makeup.Â
âUhh, I donât really feel like it. Can her just pick up chick fil a or somethingâÂ
âAre you ok? You love going outâ Dam it Jay, did you really have to pick a being detective as your job.
âYeah, I rather just hang out with you guys tonight y'knowâ
âAlright Iâll call himâ
***
âY/nnnn⌠Y/Nâ
âIs this one of those seizure things she used to have when she had that head injury?â Jay whispers to will
âNo, it doesn't look like it. Iâm hoping itâs not because I will sue this place down if they let her get a head injury and didnât let any of us know.â Will grits that last part between his teeth.
âY/N!â A voice pulls you out of your thoughts.
âYeah, tell them in court got it. I gotta go byeâ
âAlright, call me if you need to schedule anything or if anything happensâ your lawyer stood up from the chair.
âYeah thanks Chrisâ both Jay and Will got up and shook his hand and walked out.
âWhat was that aboutâ Will mumbled
âI donât know, Y/ns strange but you never know whatâs going up in that head of hers.â Jay shrugged as he walked down the steps.
Just three weeks left Will said to himself, three weeks. And then you could go back to school. You missed a whole school year so you would be a year behind all of your friends.Â
How could Jay not care, he hadnât fought or visited you as much as he did.Â
He would talk to him when they got back to his apartment. This was gonna be another fightÂ
âJay?âÂ
âYes willâJay hummed
âYou seem to not care about y/n all you do is sit her all day and watch these stupid gamesâÂ
âFirst of all the games arenât stupid, and second of all how dare you say that I donât care about her. It seems like you donât care about herâ
âME? Oh no you sit here and go to the district come back home and drink like your AddictâÂ
âAnd you? Donât act so innocent. Youâve been sitting there on your couch rotting away when youâre not at workâ Jay scoffed
âAt Least Iâm trying to help, Iâm trying to read about how we can help Y/n. Do you ever use your brain or are you so fucked up inside? You gonna turn up like dad if you donât check yourselfâ Will shoved his finger in Jays chest.
Jay flung wills hand away. âWatch who youâre talking to. Donât bother coming over. And you can have y/n when she gets out since I donât care about her. Now get the hell out of my houseâ
Like I said, the Halstead siblings are falling apart.

January 29th 2024
Court date
âAll riseâ Everyone stood up as the judge walked into the room
Will,Jay and your lawyer Chris had given you a talk on behaving and doing exactly what they said.
You were gonna follow through with those rules but you had something else in mind to add. A way that everyone would see the true face of Milly.
***
âI have a question for my clientâ
âDuring your first court, Ms. Taylor accused you of abusing her over the months, and looking over CCTV footage from your so called confrontation Michelle walked over to Ms Halstead instead and she threw the first punch. If you had looked at the cameras you would have seen itâ
Milly looked astonished that someone had said her real legal name and not Milly.Â
âMR. Olsen, I did look at the security cameras and I saw what I sawâ The judge shrugged.
You had enough, the judge kept lying, Milly kept telling fake stories and everyone wans´t helping.
âIâve had enoughâ You stood up. âY/n what hell are you doing sit downâ Jay yelled in a whisper.
âBack off Jay, Your name isnât Milly Parker. It's Michelle. Isnât that right? Ms, Taylor? Thereâs video proof of everything and every single one of your group of friends. You think I havenât had an outsider for months? Giving me all the information I know right now. I knew it was you who tried to Kill me with the cookies. I got video permission and I saw it. Best part is I didnât even have to wait for you to be proven wrong in a couple of years because IT'S ALL HERE. YOUR A FUCKING SNAKE, A LIAR AND BITCHâ
Jay and Hailey got up and pulled you out of the courtroom before security did it themselves.Â
âY/n are you crazy, youâre going to end up getting more Time in jailâÂ
âYou donât understand Jay, sheâs the one who hit me first. Sheâs the one who gave those strawberry Cookiesâ You cried.
Jay pulled you into a hug, so you wouldnât run off and he could comfort you. âItâs alright, youâre ok. Iâll figure it out.â âGo get that footage on that screen, if they try to stop you someone named Harrison Butler will help youâ Jay whispered to Hailey and she nodded back.
âY/n Iâm gonna leave you with Kevin for 5 minutes while I talk to Will about something really quick. Is that ok?â He could feel you nodding in his chest.Â
***
âNatalie, Itâs Jay. I need you to send Y/ns medical records from when we came for a check up after she had a reactionâ
Jay kept humming in response when Natalie kept asking questions
âAlright thank youâÂ
âIâm getting super tired of the crazy shitâ Jay mumbled to himself.Â
***
âYou need to listen to me. When you go in there donât get up and scream, donât accuse, donât exaggerate. Stick to what Voight told youâ Jay was on your level giving you a pep talk. This was the final court session. It would be decided who was guilty and who wasnât. âDo you understand?â
âYes. If I get to go home can I get McDonaldâs?â It was worth asking.
âOf course y/n. Iâll buy you all the McDonaldâs you want and whatever you want.âÂ
âY/n itâs time, letâs goâ Your lawyer Chris came out.
 ***
âCan Ms. Y/n Halstead come upâ The judge âwould please tell your side of the story to settle this once and for all.â
After the longest speech of your life which was almost 40 minutes. And other people are coming up to talk. A decision was made.
âI sentence Michelle Taylor 30 years for attempted murder, 10 years for fraud and 3 years for assault.âÂ
âFor Y/n Halsted, she and her family will be compensated 10 thousands from the star and 25 thousand from the Taylor family from what she has been through.â You looked at Jay with a shocked face, that was a ton of money. âCase closed.â The Jude spoke. Everyone around you started clapping and cheering.Â
People from your school who had also been affected by Milly were there, News stations, Your family from Med, Fire and Pd. The whole state had heard about your story and it finally worked, people came out told their stories with Milly and this Past year of Hell was over.Â
You won
***
Now in the car With Jay and Will you guys were one of the last to leave since people were interviewing you guys like crazy. You were starving for something, not prison food.Â
âCan I have McDonaldâs now?âÂ
Jay and Will looked at each other and then looked back at you âtaking that as a yes, Iâm tired of prison food so letâs goâ
***
IT'S OVER, I donât know if Iâm gonna pick this up and add to it again but I want to say Iâve been adding to this every now then since late December early January ish.

Request time (if itâs alright)
For this the reader is 5â1 (like me sadly) and theyâve been that height since forever (again sadly like me) and him and tenjiku decide to go to the movies and watch a horror movie however when itâs the reader turn to buy a ticket the worker says âsorry kid this movie is rated r and you canât watch it without a parent or guardian we do have a kids movie about to play if you want to watch thatâ and the reader is red in the face but not from embarrassment but from anger and before the reader can yell that their not a kid someone from tenjiku (maybe muto) grabs him and says âsorry about him Iâm his guardian so he can watch the movieâ and drags the reader away from the worker
after the movie they go somewhere to eat some members and they all get normal menus however the reader is given a kids menu and the waiter says donât worry kids eat free today and walks off to get their drinks and the reader is just man and a different waiter brings the reader a booster seat much to his embarrassment
And throughout the rest of the night the reader keep being treated like a child by strangers and some of the tenjiku members play along cause they think is funny. Maybe at one point the reader walks up to either muto, mochi or hanma and asks them how they got tall and when I mean ask I mean the reader is holding the front of their uniform and trying to looks threatening but in their eyes itâs like a angry smol kitten
Well considering I'm 5'4 and I'm the tallest amongst my siblings and youngest. Which is 3 sisters. I don't have this problem. But I am unfortunately the weakest of the 4 of us. But I was also the shortest at one point and time. They did many short jokes and teased me for being so small. I hated it. But Enjoy!
When (horror movie) came out, (Name was extremely excited. He'd been waiting for what felt like forever for it. So when he mentioned it to Tenjiku, and he explained what the movie was about, obviously they were going with him.
(Name) was practically bouncing when they got to the ticket booth. Since (Name) brought up the movie he figured he'd pay for them. So while his friends waited (Name) tried buying the tickets. Keyword tried.
"I'm sorry kid. But your not old enough to see this movie. Not without your guardians." (Name)'s eyebrow twitched. "I'm literally 18 dude! How is that not old enough!" The Tenjiku members just watched, most of them laughing. When Mucho saw how red his face was getting he decided to step in.
"Excuse me? I'm his guardian." The ticket man just stated at him. "T-Tickets?" Mucho quietly took the money (Name) was trying to pay with. "9 please?" After getting the tickets they joined the others.
Most of them had stopped laughing seeing the glare on his face. Not Hanma or Shion though. They were leaned on each other dying of laughter. "A-Are you sure you wanna see this movie kid? Y-You might wet the bed tonight!" Shion barely got the sentence out before him and Hanma hit the floor laughing.
(Name)'s glare deepened and he kicked both of them. Hard. "I swear. Tease me about my height again and see what happens." The two slowly stopped laughing at the glare Izana was giving them. "Yes sir." (Name) rolled his eyes and went into the theater.
After the movie was finished. (Name) enjoyed it quite well although, he looked a pale and trembling Shion. (Name) thinks it might've been too much for them. But Mochi had said he was hungry and many had agreed. So now they were eating at a restaurant and well....(Name) was ready to commit arson.
The waiter that had set them down had given him....a kids menu.... Which annoyed him more. "You're lucky. Today kids eat for free!" (Name)'s eyebrow twitched again. But it got worse when another waiter brought a booster seat to the table. That's right you heard him right. A fucking booster seat.
Hanma, Shion, Ran, Mochi, Rindou, and Izana were practically rolling on the floor in laughter. Kakucho and Mucho were trying to keep (Name) calm because he had tried jumping the table at the waiter. While Kisaki explained that they didn't need it. Dinner after that was quiet.
Tenjiku could feel the glare (Name) had the rest of the night. When they got back to the hideout (Name) had enough of them joking about his height. So he grabbed Mucho and dragged him down to his height. The others stopped and watched. Many of them scared since the glare (Name) had looked like he was ready to slaughter them.
"How. The. Fuck. Did. You. Get. So. Fucking. TALL!?" Mucho sweated and looked around for help but honestly? Better him then them. Mucho explained that height worked with genetics and working out and of course. Plenty of milk. Let's just say there was a new rule put down in Tenjiku that day. "No teasing (Name) for his height."

Chapter Two - Stayaway
Dont buy TLOU | Daily Click | Series Masterlist
Kinks/Warnings: Canon-typical violence, canon-typical setting, death, mild language, barely proofread but edits have been made, use of Y/N (its only like twice dont kill me)
đď¸ Xan Says: I wrote this in somewhat of a rush because Iâm afraid Iâll be super busy soon and I wont be able to update very much. So, with the time I do have, Iâll try as much as possible to put out as many chapters as I can in my free time. I donât think Iâll be too focused on writing soon. Sorry chat!
W/C: 1.5K
You get closer to see the commotion. You practically ran over. Your arms drop to your sides once you realize that it is, in fact, Abby in the flesh. She immediately went to attack the guy with his hands on the girl; Yara or whatever her name was. He realized who it was in an instant. âAbby?â She didnât say anything to him. Instead she goes back to hurt him even more. First head-butting him then taking him down and breaking his arm.
âAbby? What the fuck is wrong with you?â You yell out with a confused expression. The rest of your group runs around the area, searching for the others and the source of the voice. âWhy the hell do you care?â She asks with a grunt. Sheâs now taking this guys pistol and beating him with it. âYara!â Another small boy calls out. Heâs rushing over to the girl who was laid out on the floor with blood dripping down her face.
âYou went AWOL over these Scars? I dont understand.â You chuckled in disbelief. It didnât necessarily have anything against the Scars, but you couldnât believe these kids were the reason Abby suddenly decided to go rogue. âYara, get up!â The boy continued.
Youâre still looking at Abby for an answer, but she averts her gaze over to those kids she was looking after. The only sounds that fill the open space were thunder, rain and occasional gunshots. âGunshots! Come on!â A soldier nearby yells. Their boots hit the ground hard, rain sloshing as they move with urgency.
âAbby, theyâre gonna fucking kill you if they come over here.â Your heart rate speeds up for whatever reason. Youâre scared for her and this isnât even your issue.Â
âYara, please!â The boy cries. âLev, we have to move.â Abby spoke gently to the boy as heâs leaning over (what you assume is) his sisters body, placing a hand on her shoulder as he looks down at her, sobbing. âThere is nowhere to go. The island is surrounded. Had you been paying attention to literally anything youâd know thereâs a raid going on today!â You stress.
Abby shoots you a look that says shut the fuck up, and you listen. Youâre standing off to the side, still holding your pistol. The boy still didnât want to leave her. Abby pulls him up despite his protests. âI see someone!â A soldier shouts.
Fuck. Now they were definitely screwed. And you mightâve been screwed too. Your world crashed down before you â somewhat. Were you regretting being here now? Definitely. You looked like you helped her in killing this soldier. âI canât leave her here!â The boy shouted. His words fall on deaf ears. Abby knows this pain. She knows it all too well. And even if he did want to wallow in the death of his sister, Abby would let him do it in a place that wasnât like an active fucking warzone.
Youâre planning on running with her when suddenly youâre surrounded. Soldiers come running from every corner of the thick forest. âStay back.â Abby growls.
âDrop it! Now!â A female shouts. âHoly shit.â âItâs Abby! And.. Y/N?â The majority of the whispers and words being shared around the group were laced with disdain. You were guilty in their eyes despite being innocent.Â
Abby holds Lev tight as if heâd fall through her fingers like sand had she let go. Your hands raise slowly after holstering your gun.
âI said stay back!â Abby shouts. Lev is still in her grasp.. albeit struggling to get free, but still. His eyes are watching Yara closely, never faltering. He seems to be checking for any signs of life. Her body remains motionless.
You had two options â to side with Abby or save your own ass. The second option wouldâve been less likely to work because well, look at the mess youâre tangled in now.Â
âStand down!â You turn your head to figure out whoâs voice it was, and also who had been approaching you two. Your heart race increases tremendously. No matter how this is framed, youâre still guilty. Youâre still a traitor like Abby was.Â
You weighed your options. You could either be a suck-up and make yourself seem like the perfect little angel who wouldnât hurt a fly, or you could take her side.
Either way, you and her were both walking targets. You were surrounded by a barrage of people with guns, and you and her had no chance of hiding with the amount of flashlights on.
Issac emerges from the shadows of the forest. Heâs disappointed. Abby is shocked.Â
âIssac.â Her voice loses its previous malice, looking at the man with her mouth slightly agape. The gun in her hand that was previously being pointed at all the soldiers falters slightly now that Issac is here.Â
âWhat the hell are you doing?â Issac questioned with furrowed brows and a perplexed expression. âMore importantly, what the hell are you doing?â
His gaze fell on you. Your hands were still raised. âWrong place, wrong time?â You said, cocking your head to one side. âIâm not joking. Were you planning on leaving with her?â
His voice was louder by an octave. âShe didnât do anything, Issac. Okay? Thisâ this was all me.â Abby butts in, moving to the side slightly in an attempt to âprotectâ you.
You knew why she was doing it, and god how you craved to shout that you didnât need saving because you didnât, but you say nothing. You let her protect you.
You turn back to see Abby dropping her gun, pushing Lev to be right behind her. âI need you to hear me out.â She says, keeping her tone low.Â
You can read the expression on Issacâs face â he looked disappointed, then confused, then pissed. It was something that kept your mind from thinking about how you couldâve just been shot dead right now. But it doesnât stop your heart from racing so fast that it might fly out of your goddamn chest.
âWhatâs that behind you?â Issac is looking directly at Lev. Issac raised an eyebrow at the boy, whoâd been looking him in the face aswell. He steps a bit closer to her.
Abby holds her hand out as if trying to subtly tell him that sheâs not dangerous. âHe saved my life.â She held his gaze even though she was scared. âMove outta the way, weâll deal with you back home.â
Issac shoos Abby away from Lev. Heâs trying to kill him. You want to say something â to defend her, to convince him that Lev is innocent but this wasnât your place.
As shitty as you think it is at the moment, youâre letting Abby fight her own battles. Coming face to face with Issac and his intense confrontation.Â
âHeâs not one of them. Please.â Abby pleaded. âAbby, move.â Issac instructed.Â
âGoddamnit, heâs just a kid!â She shouts. Issac didnât wanna hear anything else she had to say. He pointed his gun towards her.Â
You roll your eyes at Issac. Killing children? How unethical. Ethics were most certainly, definitely and obviously out of the question by now.Â
Abby and Lev take a step back, and as did you. One of your hands comes down slightly to hover over your holstered pistol. Youâre looking at Issac, studying his every move.Â
A nearby soldier had taken notice of it. âHey! Hands in the air!â A man shouts. He stepped forward so you could see him. Your hands return to being in the air.
âYou have three seconds to get away from that Scar.â Issacâs voice cuts through the other chatter, his finger resting on the trigger of his pistol.Â
âOne.â âYou really gonna shoot me?â Their voices overlap as Abby is attempting to stand directly infront of Lev. âTwo.â The grit in his voice becomes more apparent.
âIâm not fucking moving.â Her voice is shaky, yet she remains stoic. Lev is looking over her shoulder, seemingly scared for her and himself. Understandable given the circumstances.
Before Issac shoots Lev, bullets fly and pierce Issacâs skin. Heâs been shot once or twice. It happened too fast.
The group of soldiers erupted in a sea of profanities upon seeing Issac get shot and killed.Â
You look to the ground to see that it had been Yaras doing. âWhat the hell?â You mumbled to yourself. âShoot her!â They all shout.
They wasted no time shooting at her multiple times until she stops moving. Lev is in shock, as is Abby.Â
You look between the soldiers you once knew as comrades and some as friends to the girl youâd spent most of your days hating.
You couldnât look at them the same now. You take off running behind her without hesitation. âAbby!â You shout. âStop them!â âDonât let âem escape!â The soldiers shout.
âWhat the fuck are you doing, Y/N?â Abby shouts over the bullets that were flying towards her and.. and you. âGetting the fuck away from them. Thatâs what Im doing. Accept help for once, Anderson.â

It didn't seem right to skip over episodes I didn't draw recaps for! Things that ran through my head while watching this episode:
--When making this episode, Ufotable had the advantage of knowing what would come later in the manga. While rewatching it today, I had the advantage of knowing what would come later in the anime.
--By that, I mean the judicious use of Nezuko's lines in Tanjiro's dream in "Kamado Nezuko no Uta" *cough which I was just singing again at karaoke a few hours ago so it's even fresher in my brain cough*
--By that, I also mean the imagery of the field of Nichirin-to, wisteria petals, and dawn-like light as Tanjiro contemplates if he were to become a demon, and how he would trust that someone in the Corp would cut his head off for him --It never gets old how the Shabana siblings are a foil to the Kamado siblings, especially because Tanjiro recognizes how close they were and takes it to heart. I love how Gyutaro took a liking to Tanjiro on account of Tanjiro being laughably pathetic, and by merit of both of them being big brothers. That gives them something to relate to which is totally independent of whether they are demons or humans.
--I love that scene with Gyutaro mocking Tanjiro so much; it's one of those scenes that Ufotable really slowed down and dialed up the drama in, while still making every action make sense and count. One of the most tense conversations in the whole anime, and Gyutaro's glee is palpable. I love that all the names he calls Tanjiro are names that he was called when he was human, and while I don't think Gyutaro is conscious of it, it feels like at some level, he's yelling these things at himself because he's angry with himself for having failed to protect Ume.
--Speaking of, I love how Daki is like, "nuh uh, Oniichan, don't you dare make these two our friends, I hate them" and Gyutaro ignores her because she's an annoying little sister. Such siblings. Also, the way she's just casually sitting totally unphased at the top of the building is the biggest mockery, as it rubs him how useless their hard-earned triumph in the previous episode was. I love how much that theme gets stressed in this series--that is what it means to fight demons!
--Kimetsu logic: don't give us any idea what the characters are doing until after they've already done it. Tanjiro wasn't running away, but instead grabbing a kunai and covering its scent? Oh, ok, cool. Zenitsu had another variation on his one technique and he can only use it twice in one fight? Ok, cool. Inosuke can move his organs and resist poison? You know what, okay. Also, a note of voice acting--I love how heroically deep sleeping Zenitsu's voice is (I'm sure that's how the hero of Legend of Zenitsu always speaks), and how Inosuke is clearly Not Okay.
--Uzui can stop his heart? Sure. Alright. I wonder how much of that was voluntary in the middle of a fight with his little Tsuguko on the line, though--perhaps he also went into that state to prevent himself from bleeding out from his arm? But man, he is no-o-o-o-t looking good, that is truly fighting with desperation, however elated he is to have completed his sheet music technique.
--His wives were watching when he was down on the ground and supposedly dead. ;__;
--Ufotable always has such a challenge to make every Breath technique look amazing and they keep raising the bars. Even though a lot of the height of this battle was just being flashy and yelling at each other, they still had to thing about battle mechanics, like what hits they actually manage to get in on each other (Uzui didn't just lose the eye, he took a nasty hit in the abdomen, too!) and the moment Uzui drops one of his swords. Although a lot of the fighting in this episode is slowed down by character thoughts, if you put it all in sequence, it was very, very quick.
--This entire battle, actually, probably did not take very long. The initial blows exchanged between Tanjiro and Daki took a while, but once it got going with Uzui involved, it was very, very fast-paced. Considering people only started to evacuate during the Daki and Tanjiro battle, and most of them were still there during Nezuko's fight, it was probably very lucky if it was vacated by the time this episode started. We don't know how long Tanjiro was out cold, but hopefully that was enough time for the stragglers to get away before Gyutaro's final attack (but Nezuko saves them, yaaay, I also get to enjoy knowing that Nezuko's fire at the end of this episode because Ufotable made that cool choice too!). Anyway, part of the reason I bring up the speed of this battle is because I am still cross at Ufotable for messing up the timeline by placing this arc in very late autumn, which is should had been in summer, thereby making the night short in the first place--and uncomfortably hot even before you add all the flames! (Added bonus: hot and muggy for the boys when they're in kimono and makeup, because that's funny.)

Survivors â people barely a foot tall who were forced to take refuge in our world â have become a normal part of society. Unfortunately.. itâs not in the way they were hoping.
(original story here)
Thereâs no way I lost my 90 dollar ball. Are you kidding me?! I spent months saving up for that thing; how could I lose it? Iâd torn up my bedroom in search of my prized possession: a professional-grade soccer ball. It had come with me to every practice session since the day I bought it. I stormed out of my room, heading towards the garage. Maybe Iâd left it with my gear. Â
âWoah! Where are you headed so grouchily?â My older sister asked snidely as I stormed past her in the hall. âYou wouldnât care,â I huffed. She shrugged offhandedly, âThatâs probably true.â Digging out all of my equipment â even my old stuff that I knew couldnât possibly have my ball in it â I still couldnât find it. Ohh waitâŚÂ One of my friends had shown up halfway through practicing at a nearby park. Heâd dragged me away to a local store because one of our favorite games was on sale. Dang it, I left it there, didnât I?
âIf Mom gets home early, tell her Iâm at the park!â I yelled through the doorway. âWhy are you going to the-?â The door fell closed on my sisterâs voice and I rushed to my bike. The park wasnât too far from my house; I could be there in 15 minutes if I hurried. Â
âHold it.â Julie stopped me as I wheeled it to the garage door. âMom told me to keep an eye on you today. Where are you going again?â âThe park,â I responded innocently. âFor?â âI think I left my soccer ball there.â âOh? The survivors have probably taken it by now.â I sighed at her joke. Ever since the little human-like creatures had stolen the phone right out of her purse while she was distracted â true story â she was constantly referencing it. At first it was out of spite, then it became a habit. âCome on, Iâll drive you. It wonât be long, right?â I shook my head, grateful for the lift. Â
As I rode along with Julie, I begged the universe for things to work out in my favor. Please let it still be there. Donât let someone take it. By the time we reached the park entrance, my anxiety was calmed. I could see the white spot of my ball towards the end of the field. âYes,â I cheered quietly as my sister pulled into a space. âAlright, go get it,â my sister nodded.
I stepped out of the car and ran across the field in a half-jog-half-walk. But I stopped as I got closer â staring in open-mouthed horror. My ball was lopsided; punctured toothmark holes of a large dog pierced the sides. âAre you kidding me?! At least if somebody took it I wouldnât have known theyâd done this!â Angrily, I ran up the last few feet and kicked the deflated ball as hard as I could. It sailed across the field and hit the fence as a startled yelp reached my ears. Below me, a survivor was hunched over on the ground, looking around in fearful confusion. He gasped, scanning the sky above him intently. Â
âHuh? What are you-? Oh.â Following his gaze up to the sky, I watched a hawk or some other large bird circle around overhead. âAre you hiding from that bird?â The survivor glanced fearfully at me, then back up at the sky, whispering something I couldnât understand. âRight,â I sighed, âYou have your own language.â Â
The survivor was.. different than the ones Iâd seen â maybe because they looked to be about my age, or maybe because they were actually alive and well rather than the few depressed half-dead ones Iâd seen before. Whatever the case, I didnât feel like leaving them there to get picked off.Â
I went to go collect my ball so the survivor would have cover again, but he yelped and rushed after me, cowering under my shadow. His gaze finally tore away from the sky and landed on me. Eyes wide, he asked me something I didnât understand, but I could guess. Â
I sighed, but nodded. âCome on,â I gestured for him to follow me, and began walking back the way Iâd come. The survivor sprinted after me. Halfway across the field, he wheezed something that vaguely sounded like he was asking me to stop. Oh man, even when Iâm walking Iâm going too fast for him. Poor guy. I stopped and let the little guy catch up with me. He sat down on the grass, out of breath. However, that bird noticed weâd stopped moving. I watched as it swooped down and landed on the telephone wires beside the field.
âDnimreven! Mâi enif! Sâtel tsuj teg tuo fo ereh!â the survivor gasped, scrambling to his feet. He walked on and I kept up with his pace, walking beside him at whatever speed he wanted. It was slow going, but when we reached the parking lot, he stopped. âI.. hhu.. tândid yllaer kniht siht raf daeha.â Glancing around the lot, he looked over at the bird, then glanced up at me. âWhat?â I asked, âItâs alright, Iâll follow you. Just go back to the woods or something.â I waved a hand at the woods, but he slowly shook his head. âYou.. no? Donât you live there?â He just pointed at the bird and shook his head. I squatted on the ground beside him. Still he was shorter than me, but not by nearly as much as when I stood.
âHey, itâs alright! Just go hide in the woods for a while. That bird will have to stop following you eventually.â A car horn startled both of us just as the survivor was about to speak. âHey!â Julie called, âWhat are you doing? I thought you said youâd be quick! Stop pestering that little survivor and get in the car!â âAlright!â I shouted annoyedly back, standing up again. âIâm coming! One second!â I started walking to the trees nearby and the survivor raced after me. When I got to the edge of the parking lot, I stopped and pointed towards the forest. âGo on. Iâm sure some other survivors will come along and help you.â
But would they? He gave me a solemn look and trudged towards the underbrush like I was exiling him. The car horn startled him again and he ducked away into the foliage. âOk! Ok! Iâm coming!â The whole drive home I was, according to my sister, âunnaturally quietâ. I blamed it on my popped ball â and normally that would make me angry â but I was just too caught up thinking about that survivor. I tried to remember every time Iâd ever seen one. Surely one of them looked like they were doing ok, didnât they?
Yet, as much as I wracked my brain, I couldnât think of a time when Iâd seen one happy. They always looked scared. At best they seemed kinda.. out of it. At worst they were, well, dead. I hope that survivor doesnât end up like them. He was my age. Surely heâll survive better than the older ones, right? But there was that birdâŚÂ I was up the whole night coming up with a plan to sneak out of the house and return to the park. I had to go find him again â to make sure he was safe. Â
Iâd never actually interacted with a survivor before. It wasnât at all what I expected. My friends said they were little scavengers who liked to steal. All the articles about them said they were a kind of mimic of us from a whole other mimic of our world. But everyone made them sound like little animals. The guy I met today â he seemed so familiar in a weird way. He spoke to me, gestured for me to understand, and even his expressions were so human I could understand him just by reading them. Then again.. maybe he was just a really good mimic.
During lunch the next day, I passively mentioned going to hang out with some friends at the soccer field, and was thankfully met with little opposition. My mom reminded me to wear a helmet when I went out, but that was all. I wrapped up half a grilled cheese I made for myself, tossed it into my bike basket, and pedaled off. I think I beat my previous record of biking to the park by a few minutes, thatâs how anxious I was. I scanned the sky as I arrived. No predatory birds in sight. Â
Stepping over to the place where I left the survivor the other day, I made my way into the woods. I searched the ground with every step until I came across a survivor laying on the ground. A sickening feeling lurched in my stomach watching flies buzzing around them, landing on unmoving limbs. Shit... Iâm too late. I carefully stepped over to the body and knelt beside it. I turned away after only a moment, but as I went to cover it with dirt, I realized their hair was much too long to be the survivor I saw before. Holding my breath, I bent down to get a better look.
Firstly, their chest had been torn wide open, and their arms and legs picked clean down to the bone. The position they were in looked painful, as if theyâd been struggling. I realized in my examination that the survivor was a female, and let out a relieved breath. Whatever had caught it.. caught her â had eaten her. Wait. I shouldnât be relieved by that! What the hell am I thinking!? I was just glad that it wasnât my little friend whoâd died, but I felt extremely guilty about thinking of this survivorâs death in that way. Sheâd died likely being hunted â eaten. Was she still conscious during all of it, or had the animal killed her by then? I just hope Iâm not too late to help the other survivor.
Gently taking a few handfuls of dirt, I covered the little corpse. With a quick glance around myself, I spotted some wildflowers, picked one, and laid it carefully on the small mound. âI wouldâve helped you too,â I said softly, as if that were any consolation for how horribly theyâd died. No wonder the guy Iâd met yesterday had given me such a desperate look when I sent him out here. I was basically sentencing him to a horrific struggle for survival in a place where he wasnât meant to live in.
Standing back up, I backed away from the little grave and headed in a different direction. âHello?â I called, âSurvivor dude I met yesterday? Iâm sorry I donât.. know your name. And Iâm really sorry I left you alone out here! Please be alright...â I walked through the forest along the outskirts of the soccer field, watching my every step and calling out once and a while. I began giving up hope as I rounded the end of the field, but something stopped me before I could turn around: my popped soccer ball. It wasnât left where Iâd kicked it earlier. It was tucked beside a tree a little ways past the wooden fence that separated most of the park from the overgrown trees and whatnot that Iâd been trekking through.
Heart pounding, I raced over to the ball and yanked it away from the tree. A fearful yelp came from beneath it as the survivor from the day before huddled up against the side of the tree with his arms over his head. âHey! Hey, itâs alright! Itâs me! Remember me from yesterday?â I asked excitedly. The little guy looked up at me with a bewildered expression before his face slowly fell into shock â recognizing me. âTahw? Sâtahw gniog no? Tnaig edud, tânod llet em erâuoy ereh rof ruoy llab niagaâŚâ I had no clue what he said, but I was too relieved to even listen. He was alive â still using my ball for shelter. âOh, here! I brought you something.â Digging into my pocket, I pulled out the bag of my half a grilled cheese and took it out. Â
âI wasnât sure if you had anything to eat out here, so I brought you this. It.. might actually be a bit too big for you.â Laughing slightly, I handed the piece of sandwich off to him. It was half his height, but he took it eagerly. I sat down lightly, keeping watch for anything that might hurt him as he chowed down. âYeh tnaig?â The survivor startled me from surveillance. âHmm? Whatâs wrong little guy?â He pointed to his throat, then cupped his hands and pretended to drink. âOh! Youâre thirsty? I have some water, but itâs back with my bike. Sorry, I shouldâve brought it.â The survivor gave me a confused look. He didnât understand me. I knew he couldnât, but I kept forgetting. He looked so normal that I expected him to speak a language I knew.
âCome on,â I gestured for him to follow me like I had the day before. He promptly got up and headed after me. The pace was even slower than yesterday. In the field, the little survivor could easily keep walking all the way across, albeit his steps were much shorter than mine. Here in the uncut forest, he had to weave and duck through the foliage like it was a jungle. He was exhausted after only a short time, and made the same gestures for a drink again, as if I hadnât understood him the first time. I wanted to go and bring him one, but that body Iâd found had me scared. What if I left him and something attacked? Iâd feel awful if I came back to find a similar scene to the first survivor.
I.. I can try taking him there myself. But is he going to run away from me if I do that? Wild animals generally donât like being held. But he wasnât some wild animal. Surely he was smart enough to understand that I was helping him. Taking a knee, I slowly reached for him. âIâm just gonna help you out, ok little guy?â The survivor backed away from my hand uncertainly, but he didnât run. âI'm just taking you to get a drink, like you wanted,â I told him, pointing towards the edge of the woods and the parking lot. Â
The survivor glanced between me and the distance he had to travel several times, then eventually glanced down at my hesitating hand. I came closer again and he held his hands up slightly, squeezing his eyes shut. However, he stood perfectly still.Â
His reaction hurt slightly. Doesnât he know I wonât attack him? He looks scared of me, but Iâm not a predator. Iâm a person; I wouldnât eat him or kill him for no reason. Slowly, I gripped his torso in a light fist and lifted him into the air. He yelled â dangling legs instantly pulling in against himself as he rushed to grip my fingers. The survivorâs eyes were wide open now, looking around himself fearfully. Â
âHey, come on, really?â I asked, causing his head to whip back around towards me. His breathing picked up against the palm of my hand. âIs it really that scary?â Apparently it was. He readjusted, trying to cling even tighter to my fingers. I sighed, âMan, youâre like.. the same age as me! Canât you tell that Iâm not some big scary animal?â I headed back to my bike with him in my hand. He struggled so much I nearly dropped him accidentally. It wasnât violent struggling like he was in danger, but still. Â
Finally, I reached my bike and released him on the asphalt. He scrambled backwards and tripped over his own feet, glancing around at the sky before taking a few steps closer to the bike, shying away from the open space. âItâs alright," I assured him, taking out my water bottle and pouring him a capful. âIâll shoo away anything that tries to get you.â âI- I tânod tnaw ot eb tuo ereh,â he said nervously, ducking closer to the bikeâs wheel until he was pressed against it. Tsuj- tânac uoy ekat eht retaw revo ot eht sterof daetsni? Stnaig tânod yllausu ekil em gnignah dnuora ni eht nepo, dna eht sdrib ekil ti a elttil oot hcum.â
I chuckled and shook my head. âI have no clue what youâre saying, but you sure are talking. Here, have some water.â I handed him the bottle cap filled with water, but he only pointed to the woods. I didnât move until he begrudgingly took it. Sitting on the curb beside my bike, I watched the little survivor. A few dogs passed by on the opposite side of the lot. Both of us eyed them warily, but they were well-behaved pets. They ignored us and continued on after their owners. Â
Wait.. pet. I glanced down at the survivor. Heâd relaxed a bit once the dogs passed us, but he was still on alert. Iâd been thinking about that body â the poor survivor who could do nothing to save themselves from such an awful death. âHey little guy? What do you think of becoming my pet? Some people keep survivors and train them, you know. Youâd be a lot safer with me! Iâd have to hide you from my family, though,â I grumbled. âMaybe I can make you a little home in my backyard or something. What do you think?â He just gave me a blank, confused look. âRightâŚâ I sighed, âBefore I teach you any tricks I think Iâm gonna have to teach you some words first. At least you understand gestures.â
The only thing my musings were met with was a small gesture for more water. I thought for a moment as I refilled the survivorâs bottle cap. âI guess I should start with a name. Hmmm.. should I give you a human name or more of a pet name?â I thought for a moment, âWhat if I name you Bandit? Because you took my soccer ball? My sister did warn me that your kind likes to steal things.â
Once Bandit was done with his drink, I stood up decisively. He startled, but calmed down soon after. That was until I reached for him again. Bandit dodged away from my grasp and stepped away from my bike. Pointing towards the woods, he told me something and started walking in that direction. âNo, look! Iâm going to give you a real home now! Your nameâs gonna be Bandit and Iâll take care of you. You donât have to fight to survive out here anymore.â I stepped over to him and tried to pick him up again, but he took off at a run â surprisingly fast for something so small. Thankfully, it only took a little jog to catch up with him and corner Bandit with my hands.
The survivor began yelling as I stood back up. His legs were pinned in one hand and his torso in the other. âTahw eht lleh?! Tahw era uoy gniod htiw em?! Tup em nwod! I tânod tnwa uoy ot yrrac em dnuora; I nac klaw tsuj enif!â He sounded angry, but he just didnât understand. He probably thought I was taking him back to that sad little spot Iâd found him tucked up in. âMan, you gotta calm down!â I told him surprisedly, âYouâre yelling like Iâm going to murder you or something. Iâm literally saving your life!â
As gently as I could with all his struggling, I placed Bandit into my bike basket and hopped on. He peered over the edge for a moment, confused. However, he gasped and ducked down inside as I lifted the kickstand. âYeh! I- I thguoht ew erew sdneirf! Erehw era uoy gnikat em?â âThatâs right,â I said softer than before, âIâm getting you out of here. Now hold on tight! Weâll be at my house before you know it!â
I biked slowly through the parking lot and across the road, but once I hit the bike trail, I took off â excited to bring home my new pet. Bandit yelled a few more times, and I slowed down each time. However, I kept forgetting and speeding back up again. About two-thirds of the way there, my little pet finally had enough. While I was focused on a blind turn up ahead, the little thing lept out of the basket. A heartstopping thwack resounded off the dirt path as he hit it. I came to a screeching halt a few feet further and dropped my bike to the ground, rushing to his side. Â
Blood had begun pooling through his pant leg as he hastily scrambled to his feet before immediately falling back over again. âBandit! Holy shit! Whyâd you do that?! I thought survivors were smart enough to know not to jump out of a moving vehicle!â An agonizing cry stopped me from scolding him any longer. âShit, I.. I gotta get you home and bandage that up.â Scooping him up in my arms, I drove the rest of the way single-handedly â Bandit gasping and whining the whole way back. The sound made me sick. I donât understand! He knew it was moving! Theyâre supposed to be the second smartest creatures in the world besides humans!
I drove straight into the backyard when I got home, rushing for the back door. However, when I threw it open, my sister stood in the doorway, arms crossed. I had quick enough reflexes to hide Bandit behind my back, but that was all. âI knew you were up to something when Mom told me where you were going!â she accused. âNo!â I yelped, covering up a groan from my little injured pet. âI was at the park! I swear!â âSo why are you sneaking in the back-â Julieâs face paled mid-sentence. âRitchie? Is that blood on your sweatshirt?â Shit. It was. Banditâs leg mustâve bled into my clothing while I was holding him tucked against my chest.
There was no use trying to lie. Julie was a veterinary major â specializing in surgery. She knew blood when she saw it. âI- I can explain.â Before I could explain anything, she grabbed my arm and fearfully yanked it out from behind me. Bandit cried out in pain as he was jerked forward. Protectively, I tucked him back against myself as my shocked sister let go of me. âI knew you would go back for that survivor,â she said under her breath. âBut what the hell did you do?â
âI- I didnât do anything! He jumped out of my bike while I was riding it and-â âGive him to me.â âWhat? No! What are you going to do with him?â She held out her cupped hands, âWhat do you think Iâm going to do with him? I have to stop him from bleeding like that or he will die. Please, just let me have him.â âI- Itâs not that bad!â I lied, backing away, âThis stain isnât even that big!â âIt is to him.â Julieâs voice suddenly turned hostily serious. Hesitantly, I tried to give Bandit to her, but he gasped and tried to avoid her hands.
I was about to tell her that I should just bring him wherever she wanted him, but Julie spoke first. âSâti thgirla; I tânow truh uoy. Mâi ereh ot pleh uoy.â I blinked, dumbstruck. Even Bandit stopped struggling. âDid.. you just speak survivor language?â I gawked. Less than a second later, Bandit practically flung himself out of my grasp and into Julieâs arms. He started speaking so quickly, even she gave him a confused look. âTsuj gnah ni ereht,â she said gently, âLlâi teg uoy dexif pu.â She rushed off into the bathroom. The rumbling of medicine bins filled the air along with the sound of rushing water. I was so stunned I stood in the doorway for several minutes before quickly closing the back door and rushing after my sister.
