I’m starting to think people have vegetable gardens and fruit bushes/trees here for the sole purpose of going ‘well! it looks like I’ve grown way too much to eat myself! Guess I’ll have to give at least half of this away to neighbours, family, friends, random people on the street, etc!’
#insert my mum going on lettuce delivery yesterday because she grew too many#the way we have two feijoa trees and we always give at least half away ...#the way my mum was like I would like fresh blueberries and then fucking came home with a container of them#because she met someone with a blueberry bush and they couldn’t eat them all#she also came home with a cucumber ????#like#what’s the point of growing food if you’re not going to gift a bunch of it#is the impression I’m getting

Finale - Rewrite - POYW - Harry Hook x reader - part 7 - Beast
=
It had taken a bit to get from the castle to the dorms but now you, Celia, and Uma sat in Audrey’s room as Mal and Evie searched the campus for any clues for where the possessed princess might be. Uma was on Audrey’s bed reading her diary while you lay across her legs, playing with the fishnet wrapped around Uma’s waist.
Celia was digging through Audrey’s jewelry as Mal and Evie turned to the room, both looking exhausted from their run around campus “she’s nowhere on campus” Evie breathed, leaning on the vanity as she caught her breath.
“Found her diary,” Uma said distracted as she continued to flip through the private pages. You had told her of Audrey’s struggles before but seeing them on paper was a bit of a heartache, wow her grandmother really was a bitch. “and damn did you ruin her life” Uma chuckled, setting down the diary and giving Mal a sharp smile
Mal just looked sad at the notion, yes, she might have originally not cared about running someone's life (Audrey and Uma being examples of her old cruelty) but knowing first hand from Audrey’s own diary that she had ruined her life made her feel terrible “did you find anything that we don’t already know or?” Mal asked dryly, trying to brush off her feelings so they could get this mission done.
“she hangs out at fairy cottage” Uma closed the book and tossed it aside, patting your leg as it hit your head. “you know? Where flora, fauna, and Merryweather hid her mom from your mom?” Uma teased, laughing a bit as Mal rolled her eyes.
“ha-ha, yeah yeah, do you think that’s where we'll find her?” Mal laughed dryly and looked down at you, as out of all the vks you were the one who was around Audrey the most.
“Maybe, she does hang out there a lot, and it’s very secluded, deep in the enchanted woods and way past Auroria castle, it’ll be past midnight by the time we get there” you muttered, picking at your nails. Mal nodded, it would be their best bet.
“Then let's head back to Evie's and wait for the boys, then we’ll head for Auroria immediately, we’re short on time as it is” Mal pushed you up from your spot on Uma’s legs and let you grab Uma, who was being very stubborn, wanting to stay on Audrey’s very comfortable bed.
Evie turned and gave a disapproving look to the thieving Celia, who had one of Audrey’s gaudy blue songbird tiaras on and multiple other pieces of jewelry. “First off, those don’t suit you at all, second, the bling stays here” Evie snorted as Celia pouted at her.
“But she’s bad!” Celia wined, shoulders slumping as Evie reached out and took the tiara off her head.
“And Dizzy made better jewelry when she was seven, now come on, put them away and I’ll get you some styling jewelry after this is all over, I’ll ever take you to the bayou.” Celia perked up a bit at that and started to take off Audreys stuff, rushing after the others with Evie after she set the last bracelet down.

“Ben!” Carlos called out for the lost king, looking around every turn in the search for their dear friend. Jay called out for him as well, Gil attempting to use his tracking skills for any footprints that might lead them to Ben, Harry trailing behind with Hadie as the five boys searched for the King.
Carlos sighed, calling Dude back to him and sitting down on a rock, pulling out a scrap of Ben’s clothing for Dude to smell and track. “come on, nothing?” Gil perked up and almost skipped over to a blueberry bush, picking some off and moving aside for Hadie as the older vk looked especially curious at the bush.
“Are these blueberries?” Hadie asked, picking one off and tossing it in his mouth, his eyes comically sparkling as the taste. Gil chuckled and picked off a handful for the god and poured it into his hands, Hadie devouring them in seconds.
“ya know” Jay chuckled walking up next to Gil and picking off a berry or two “that is the same face Mal makes when she eats strawberries” Carlos turned and laughed, nodding along.
“It is! Ya know, I always thought you and Mal had some similarities, I guess your dad being, well, your dad, solidifies that eh?” Hadie just shrugged, distracted by the delicious blue-purple fruit.
“soooo, how long have you known about you and Mal being siblings?” Gil asked, once again Hadie just shrugged.
“uh, I guess when Maleficent dropped her off at dads door” Hadie muttered rubbing his lips free from the stain of the fruit. "so, around 19 years I guess” Gil hummed and nodded, picking a couple more blueberries and popping them in his mouth, Dude and Harry walking around looking for Ben still.
Harry looked down as Dude pawed at his boot and then nodded, realizing Dude had picked up a scent. “Pup!” Carlos looked up at Harry, then silently cursed to himself, why did he still respond to that dumb nickname Harry had given him when he was 7. “Dude found somethin’ !” Carlos stood and ran after Harry, who was already trailing Dude as the dog went off the main trail and went deeper into the forest.
Gil, Jay, and Hadie quickly followed, not realizing there were eyes on them as they resumed their search for the king.

The girls arrived at Evie's cottage, which luckily wasn’t far from Auradon prep especially with the bikes, and hopped off their vehicles, Uma whistling in appreciation for the quaint home “nice place” Uma muttered, smirking a bit as Evie grinned at her.
“I got a good deal” she chuckled, taking her key out and unlocking the back patio doors, the five girls walking in and getting comfortable. Celia suddenly stopped as she noticed light snores coming from the parlor and tiptoed in, gasping a bit as she locked her eyes onto the twins and Dizzy, all three sound asleep.
Dizzy seemed to be having a nightmare, and Celia quickly calmed it with a long blanket and soothing words, Evie smiling at the two as (y/n) made sure the twins were okay. Mal walked into the living room and sighed with relief, all the other vks were still here, asleep, but here. Claudine, Colin, and Ginny were huddled up on the couch with Ginny as the main pillow, Colin on her legs as Claudine took her chest, and Diego was sound asleep in Carlos’ favorite armchair with the leg rest popped out.
Uma turned as sudden loud snoring came from the room just off the kitchen, Uma, Mal, and Evie quickly walked towards it only to find Doug on the ground in a crumpled mess, some tubes of fabric rolled out across from him. He must’ve been cleaning up when the sleeping spell washed over the house. “uh, who’s the dude?” Uma asked, Evie pushing past her and kneeling next to him.
“Doug, my boyfriend” Evie placed her hand on his head and checked for any injuries, sighing in relief when she found none, he might be sore from sleeping on the hard tile of her workroom but otherwise he’d be fine. “let's see if this works, Mal” Mal perked up, raising her brow “go get the yellow bubbling potion in the thin and long glass tube that’s at the top of the cabinet above the refrigerator,” Mal grumbled and turned, calling out for (y/n), since she couldn’t reach that spot; might as well get some help with it. Damn her 5’2 height.
Uma raised her brow in curiosity as Evie sat Doug up to get ready to administer the potion “uh, what potion?”
“Some anti-sleep spell potion I made a while ago” Evie smiled at Uma, and Uma paused a bit, suddenly fearing the once thought to be a simple fashion forward prissy isle princess “I made it from some of the poison from Maleficent’s spindle on the needle, should reverse the spell on Doug. I know Mal said there’s not a lot that can reverse the curse of the scepter but there’s no harm in trying” Mal and (y/n) returned with the bubbling yellow potion and Mal handed it to Evie. Evie popped off the cork and poured it down the sleeping Doug’s throat.
Evie clasped her hands together and prayed to whatever gods were listening that it worked. And it did, because a few moments later Doug's eyes fluttered open and he smiled softly at Evie “thank goodness for your potion-making skills” he rasped, leaning in to hug Evie as she squealed and pounced on him.
Uma laughed a bit and turned to give the two some privacy as Evie quickly caught Doug up to speed, (y/n) and Mal following close behind. Uma paused as she looked directly at the unpackaged Jane cake.
You met her gaze then looked at the cake, then sighed “well, it's gonna go bad if we don’t” you gestured to the cake and Uma practically skipped towards it “just leave a slice for Jane at least” Uma nodded, grabbing a knife and cutting herself a sizable piece, Celia running into the room to get on the cake action.
“I hope they find Ben” Mal muttered, sitting at the kitchen window counter and leaning on her hands, eyes downcast in worry for her boyfriend.
“I’m sure they’ll find him Mal” you comforted, rubbing her shoulder and offering her some cake. “have some faith in them”
-
Carlos called for Ben as Dude let them deeper into the forest, the dog pausing ever so often and then leading them in a new direction. “Ben!!” Carlos yelled out, spinning in a circle to get his voice to reach father as Dude sniffed at a large claw/shoe print.
Dude shook his head and turned to look at Carlos ‘I found a print! Smells like Ben and-something really really smelly! Even worse than Jay's power shakes!’ Carlos snorted and walked up to Dude to look at the print, yelping as a large stone statue leaped from the brush next to him, swiping at his face but thankfully missing.
“holy shit!” Carlos yelled, picking up Dude and running back towards Jay, the stone statue close behind. Jay’s eyes widened as he got a good look at the beast. It was one of the marble lion statues from Auradon prep!
The boys turned on their heels and ran, Hadie taking a small chance and creating a fireball in his hand then throwing it at the statue, grinning as it blasted the beast into pieces. But it was replaced with two more that lept from the brush just behind him. “fuck!” Hadie yelled bolting after the others.
…
Ben opened his blackened eyes to the sound of screams…familiar screams. He lept up from his shady spot under a tree and bolted towards the sounds. His friends! His friends were in danger! He slid to a stop on all fours and let out a pitiful whine as he watched Harry, Gil, Jay, Carlos, and Hadie run away from the marble beasts chasing them, Hadie taking quick shots at them but unfortunately missing.
Ben let out a low growl as several more marble beasts went to attack his friends, he arched back on his heels and went to pounce but stopped. He saw his horrific reflection in a small puddle next to him, beastly matted hair, black eyes, sharp fangs, dark curling horns, paws with claws the size of his face, he had also grown several times bigger than his human size.
He was a monster, he sank back, watching his friends with watery eyes as they attempted to fight against the beasts. Ben let out a pained roar as one of the beasts jumped at Harry and sliced into his shoulder, the pirate falling to the ground in agonizing pain as Harry screamed out. Blood poured from his shoulder and Ben steeled himself.
They were his friends, they were being hurt, they cared about Ben.
They wouldn’t fear him, and they would never hurt him.
He had to be brave, for them. As their king and friend.
Ben leaped out of the brush, letting out a mighty roar and slamming into two marble beasts, the stone crumbling under his claws in an instant. He whirled around and jumped towards Harry, slamming into the beast about to clamp its jaws around Harry’s throat and tossing it away. Ben let out a terrifying roar, one that echoed out throughout the forest.
“Beasty?” Harry weakly asked from below him, hand clamped on his heavily bleeding shoulder. Ben looked down at him and let out a cooing whine, looking back up and growling as another two statues came near him. Ben reared up and slashed at the beasts, the marble crumbling under his strength.
“Go Ben!” Carlos yelled from next to Jay, who stared slack-jawed at beast Ben. “you got this! Kick their butts!” Ben grinned at Carlos’ encouragement and did quick work of the last two beasts, swiping and destroying them under his jaw and claws.
Gil and Carlos cheered for Ben as Jay stared in awe, Hadie bolting towards Ben and sliding underneath him to attend to Harry. Ben backed away and nudged at the slowly becoming unresponsive Harry. “shit” Hadie curse, patting Harry’s face to wake him “come on Hook, don’t pass out on us”
Carlos, Gil, and Jay ran closer to the three, Jay grabbing onto Ben’s collar just in case he got afraid of their reactions and tried to run. But thankfully that was the last thing on Ben’s mind as he looked down at Harry.
“Harry come on dude” Gil whispered, taking off his bandana and soaking up the blood as Harry’s eyes fluttered “(y/n)s gonna kill me if i-woah!” suddenly Ben was sprayed with water, his body glowing a soft periwinkle as he shrunk down to his normal size and his horns, paws, claws, and fangs reduced with it.
Ben shook his head and looked around, eyes widening as he spotted Jane holding a long water gun, probably half full with enchanted lake water. “Jane!” he called, waving her over to Harry. “help him! the water can help!” Jane hurried over and gasped as she saw the badly wounded Harry. She kneeled next to him and gently sprayed the water onto this shoulder, the slices glowing the same blue as Ben had and closing up, the blood disappearing as the water ran over it.
Harry slowly regain consciousness and groaned, sitting up with the help of Ben and Hadie. “wha-Beastie boy? How did yeh?” Ben just nodded at Jane then quickly explained what had happened to him.
“Audrey, no, Maleficent cursed me to become my worst fear, an unlovable beast like my father, but the water” Ben nodded at Jane again, who was being hugged by Gil “turned me back, it breaks spells and can drastically reverse curses but-“ Ben gestured to himself, still mostly furry and fanged “-only mostly, we’ll have to defeat Maleficent to fully remove the curse” Harry just nodded, still out of it slightly and stood on wobbly legs, he had lost a bit of blood so it would be a minute before he didn’t feel dizzy anymore.
“Let's head back to Evie's place, they’re waiting on us,” Gil said, pushing Jane to Carlos for the younger vk to take her as Gil and Jay helped Harry get situated to move out. “and We’re running out of time” Ben nodded and followed after his friends, Hadie trailing just behind them, eyeing the marble statues that had been destroyed by him and Ben.
-
Mal stepped behind Celia's chair, looking at Uma slightly unsure before she decided to just go for it “Thank you, Uma. That was a really good idea” Uma turned to her with raised brows, confused on why Mal was talking to her willingly “searching Audreys room, now we have an idea of the right track” Uma frowned and glanced at you, who shrugged and continued to eat one of your snacks that you had hidden at Evie's just in case.
“Is there an insult in there or something that I missed?” Uma asked with a mouthful of cake, Mal shook her head, sincere in her words.
“no, no insult, I just…wanted to thank you.”
-
Audrey, no, Maleficent clicked her tongue in frustration, slowly her weak little failure of a daughter and her ‘friends’ were figuring out where she had gone and were getting closer to beating her…if only little Malsy didn’t have that blasted ember, it was the only thing next to the wand that could defeat the scepter and reverse the possession spell she had placed upon the daughter of Aurora.
“On the right track,” Maleficent said through Audrey, glaring down at the image on her scepter as Mal sat across from Uma, getting a plate of cake for herself “you won't be going anywhere” Maleficent looked up and smirked at Chad, who looked as if he was five seconds from peeing his pants. “how about we mess em up a little?” Chad looked at her fearfully and attempted to suggest something less…evil. Which made Maleficent angry.
“I say we go back to my place and binge-watch some tv?” Chad suggested, his eyes wide with terror “huh? Or maybe order some stuff online?” Maleficent/Audrey tilted her head with a smirk, somehow that translating to ‘yeah let’s do that instead’ to Chad “yeah? Yeah!” Maleficent/Audrey flicked her hand down and Chad followed it, his body glowing a soft green as he went to his knees. “no?! um-what about pizza?” Maleficent/Audrey flicked her hand out and Chad fell on his ass, his back facing an open closet…which gave Maleficent/Audrey an idea “okay, you don’t like Pizza, salad! Sa-“ Chad stopped as he looked towards the front door of the little cottage the two were in, eyes widening as he looked at “Audrey’s” shadow.
Except it wasn’t Audrey’s shadow anymore, once with long hair and a crown perched on her head, was now a taller older figure, with curling horns protruding from its head. Even Chad wasn’t dumb enough to not figure it out. He looked from the shadow to Audrey as discreetly as he could, clenching his jaw as he noticed Audrey’s usual honey brown eyes were turning a vivid green, similar to Mal's eyes.
He went to stand and attempt to take the scepter from his possessed friend but Maleficent blasted him back with a wave of her scepter and Chad was in the closet, the lock sliding shut with another wave.
He started to bang on the door, pleading for Audrey to fight the spell that had taken hold. Maleficent only laughed, there was no saving Audrey now, by the time her daughter and her friends got here, it would already be too late.
Maleficent turned and disappeared into a swirl of green smoke, she had a much better place to execute her evil plans than in this old hideout the good fairies once hid the princess Aurora.

Mal chewed her lip as she watched Uma from across the dining table, Uma ignoring her as she enjoyed another piece of Jane’s cake. “Okay I know I’ve been feeding you sugar for the past three years but slow down you’re gonna give yourself a sugar crash and stomach ache” you joked as you pulled the almost empty plate away from Uma, laughing as she glared and pulled it back.
“Fuck you let me have my sugar,” Uma said in a teasingly angry tone, a smile on her face as you tried to take the plate again “take the plate and I stab you”
“Stab me and I’ll turn you into calamari” you shot back, snickering as Uma rolled her eyes.
“That’s squid dumbass, I’m an octopus.” you held your hands up and sighed, leaning back in your chair and looking outside to keep an eye out for the boys.
“Hey, Uma?” Mal asked nervously, playing with her piece of cake as Uma looked at her with wary eyes “I um…I wanted to apologize” Uma looked genuinely shocked at that, sharing a look with you before looking back at Mal apprehensively, unsure of what Mal was going to say.
“I-I was a bitch of a kid” Uma snorted at that, going back to her cake as Mal continued to talk “I really was a bitch to you specifically, the…shrimp incident, the harassment after that, I treated you like dirt even before all that and I really want you do know that I regret it all, im sorry for the way I was and how I was so cruel to you, I know we were raised to be like that but still, I feel awful about it”
Uma glanced up at Mal, her face giving away nothing. Mal sighed, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear “im not expecting your forgiveness or anything like that, I don’t expect your friendship, just because I apologized doesn’t automatically mean you should forgive or forget about the way I hurt you. So I understand if, after today, we never speak again” Mal smiled at Uma and looked down at her piece of cake, seeming as if a weight had finally been lifted off her chest.
Uma stared at her for a moment before nodding and pushing around a piece of cake with her fork “You were right (y/n)…she has changed” Uma muttered, pushing down a smile as Mal perked up at that and looked at her confused.
“(y/n) talked about me?” Mal asked, looking at (y/n) with shocked eyes “Why would you talk about me?” you shrugged and grabbed your bottle of root beer, keeping your eyes on the outside.
“Told her ‘bout you going to therapy n stuff and how you are actually doing better than just saying it and not changing at all” you hummed, sipping at your soda and sighing. “in my world, the movie you was a whole ass bitch and the writers didn’t develop your character properly at all, treated everyone like shit, including Ben…weird thought but what if we’re in the third movie right now?”
Uma and Mal shared a look of ‘ah right forgot she’s from another dimension where we’re fictional characters’ “that’s possible, but please don’t even mention that again I do not want to implode” Mal snarked, laughing a bit as you flipped her off without looking.
You froze as the hum of magic suddenly pulsed around you, a dome of blue magic that shimmered with green and pink surrounded the house like an airtight cage, sealing the doors and windows. “What the fuck!?” Mal yelled out, standing from her chair and rushing towards the windows, yelping as the dome pushed her back from them “It's Audrey, she trapped us!”
“Celia!” Uma yelled out for the young vk, the aforementioned girl rushing in just after that with a panicked look, running into Uma’s arms and burying herself into Uma’s side.
“What’s going on!” Evie yelled as she ran in from the living room, Doug just behind her with wide fearful eyes as he looked at the magic dome blocking the windows and doors.
“Audrey trapped us, Mal do you got a spell or something for this!?” you grunted as you slammed your shoulder into the patio doors, rubbing it as pain flared from a particularly hard smack.
Mal froze for a moment, trying to figure out a quick spell to get out of the castle when one finally came to mind “please work” Mal pleaded to herself, holding her hands out “You’ve caused my friends pain and fear/we’ve had enough, now disappear!” Mal went a twinge of pain run through her, mostly hitting her head as her hands sparked light blue with magic but nothing else happened “shit! I don’t think I can, I don’t have access to my magic anymore” Mal pressed her palm to her head as Uma looked down at her necklace, the ember within glowing along with her shell.
“What?!” you screeched, backing away from the door as the glass started to crack from the dome pressing on it “But you used a spell on the knights?!”
“I don’t know?! I think I connected to the ember or something?!” Mal grabbed onto Evie as the windows creaked with effort “what is she trying to do, kill us?!” Evie winced as the windows cracked, whelp, that’s fun, and hundreds of dollars down the drain to get those fixed.
Uma’s mind went back to when she and Mal had combined their magic to defeat the knights, and then remembered Mal had cast a spell with her, through the ember! Mal was right, she had connected with the ember! Uma stepped up to Mal, holding out her hand for Mal to take. Mal just looked at her confused and scared.
“Together,” Uma said forcefully, shaking her hand a bit to encourage Mal to take it “like with the knights, our magic together can overpower it.” Mal looked relieved at the idea and took Uma’s hand, the ember blazing bright blue as she did and their hands glowed teal-blue. Uma and Mal nodded at each other once before turning towards the patio doors, focusing on the dome just outside.
Uma’s eyes glowed turquoise as Mal’s glowed yellow, and her hair moved like fire once again. “You’ve caused our friends pain and fear/we’ve had enough, now disappear!” Uma squinted as the ember and her shell burst out in a bright show of light and another glow burst out from her and Mal’s conjoined hands and flowed out towards the rest of the house and the patio doors. The dome shattered with the burst and they were free. Uma and Mal’s hands dropped and separated, the ember within Uma’s necklace dimming from its lost connection with Mal.
Both Uma and Mal let out a slow breath, their shoulders dropping in relief as the tenseness from being trapped released. “you did it” Evie breathed out, looking relieved that her doors or windows didn’t shatter
“Nice, now get me the hell outta here” you grumbled, moving to push the doors open and gasping as you saw the boys running towards the house, with both Ben and Jane. “It’s the boys!”
The other girls followed you and Mal ran to Ben, Uma colliding with Gil as you ran into Harry's arms, slowing down as you noticed his sluggishness. “Harry” you breathed, gently squeezing his torso before pulling back to examine him “what’s wrong, did you get hurt?”
He just nodded, stumbling a bit as his supports named Gil and Jay had gone to make sure the rest of the girls were okay “aye, Audrey sent some stone statues at us, one of ‘em got me pretty good, it’s mostly healed though, Jane had some enchanted lake water” you nodded at Jane in thanks and she nodded back, leaning on Gil’s arm as he introduced her to Uma properly.
Uma caught your gaze and gasped, seeing the slices on Harry's shoulder as he pulled his hand away. She raced over to him and laid her hand on top of the shallow cuts and muttered a healing spell, focusing on the rips in the fabric of his shirt and jacket as well. A moment later Harry was fully healed and his clothes were fixed as well, he also looked as if he had renewed energy. He pulled Uma into a hug and thanked her, the sea witch nodding and patting his arm to tell him to let her go.
Mal was making sure Ben was okay, pursing her lips at his fuzzy face and fangs “Are you okay?” she asked concerned, knowing one of his greatest fears was turning into a beast. Ben smiled and shrugged.
“I am now” he hummed, giving Mal a reassuring pat on the arm “hey it’s okay, I was scared at first but-I’m not now, I’m not a beast, Im just” he gestured to himself “fluffy” Mal looked unconvinced but let it go, they didn’t have time to argue over Ben brushing his problems away when they were clearly important.
Ben looked over to Uma, looking slightly surprised to see her “Now where the hell have you been?” Uma just looked sheepish as Gil and Harry pouted at her. “wait lemme guess” Ben pointed at you as you snuck behind Harry “(y/n)s been hiding you at your request?”
“How in the hell did you guess that?” Uma said surprised, her eyes wide. Ben just shrugged.
“I know (y/n) and that is exactly something she would do, and knowing you from Harry and Gil, that is also something you would do” Uma turned to her boys, slightly surprised they seemed to talk about her that much. Harry and Gil just shrugged as Mal turned Ben’s attention to her.
“okay, so Uma found a clue in Audrey’s diary” Ben looked at Uma slightly disappointed that she had gone into Audrey’s private life like that but Mal quickly turned his attention to her again “I know I know, we’ll both apologize to her after this is all over, but now we think she may be in Fairy cottage, the one her mom was hidden in when she was a kid, do you have any idea where it may be?” Ben nodded, wringing his hands a bit.
“yeah, she took me there every fairy godmothers day…speaking of FG’s where is FG?” Mal, Evie, (y/n), Jay, Celia, Carlos, and Hadie all looked uncomfortable at that.
“uh, she got turned to stone” Hadie muttered, kicking away a stone at Jane and Ben’s shocked looks. “we were trying to get the wand and I suppose Audrey found out and stopped us before she could get it.” Ben nodded solemnly turning back to Mal, who gave him a sad smile. Ben took a deep breath and went into king mode, turning to Doug and Gil.
“Doug, Gil” the two looked up slightly surprised at his authoritative tone “go with Jane, find FG, I know she stone right now but knowing her exact location would be good” Mal went to say she was at the museum but stopped as Ben continued to talk “then get the wand just in case, Jane should be able to access it” He looked to Jane for confirmation and she nodded, looking sure she could control its magic this time around. “and if we do fail in defeating the scepter, you’ll be our last hope.” everyone nodded, the tension rising in the area as you all realized you were all heading into a final battle situation, where the stakes were high and death was probable. “good luck, take the bikes if you need to” at that Carlos opened the garage to reveal Harry and Gil’s new motorbikes, to which Gil and Jane climbed on his and Harry quietly threatened Doug to not ruin his.
Soon the three were off into the setting sun, Mal biting her lip as she remembered Beasts words on the deal ‘return the scepter and the crown to the museum at sunrise, or the barrier will be closed for good’
Ben intertwined their hands, seeming to know what Mal was thinking about, she gave him a watery smile and they turned to go back into Evie's place for a moment to make a quick plan with everyone before they all headed out.

Summer of Jily Week 4
It's week 4 for @efkgirldetective's Summer of Jily challenge! You sure did send me for a loop with this one, but I've managed to keep the one-shots turned multi chap story going!
This week's prompts: Picking Berries and "I know I kissed you before, but I didn't do it right."
Read on AO3
************
James didn’t sleep at all that night. He couldn’t stop thinking about the carnival. His thoughts shifted between being mad at Sirius for winning that damn prize and presenting it to Lily—that was his stupid, cheesy plan that his best mate had hijacked—and the Ferris wheel ride.
About saving your letters or waiting for you to ask me out?
How could he have been so thick? And how is it that he keeps royally mucking things up? He’d had the perfect opportunity to kiss Lily right there on the ride, but then it had to move again, and he’d gotten sidetracked at the feeling of flying on a muggle contraption.
Hadn’t he come along with the boys to crash the girls trip so he could spend more time with Lily? He’d devised the perfect opportunity to sweep her off her feet, and he swore to himself he would only ask her out if she made it blatantly obvious that she wanted him to. As much as it killed him, he’d rather not lose her friendship over pressing her one too many times.
But now, she had made it clear that she was waiting for him to make a move, and what does he do instead? Lets her walk away after the sunrise, hits her with a ball by the lake, and then avoids her throughout the entire carnival until their friends force them to share a compartment on that bloody ride.
He’d had the perfect opportunity to kiss her right there, to ask her to be his girlfriend, and what does he do instead? Freezes. James Potter, master of smooth pick-up lines, carefree, easy-going Gryffindor heartthrob (says the Hogwarts gossip circle, not that he pays attention to any of that—why would he when he’s got his heart set on one girl?) freezes.
Well, he didn’t totally freeze. After they’d apparated back to the cabin, he and Lily were the last two in the sitting area before they went to bed. He walked her to the door of the girl’s room and kissed her on the cheek before bidding her goodnight.
It had taken all of his willpower to not pull her into his arms and snog her senseless after her confession earlier that evening. Yet, after seeing her disappointed face before she shut the door to the bedroom, he wished he had. She’d thrown his entire game off, and he needed to fix it before he lost his chance with Lily for good.
Resigning himself to the fact that he was awake to see another sunrise, James dragged himself out of bed and picked up his glasses on the nightstand before stepping around the mattress on the floor where Peter currently snored away. He grabbed the nearest shirt he could find and threw it on before slipping out of the bedroom.
It was lighter out than he was expecting, meaning he’d probably missed the sunrise. The boys preferred to sleep in pitch black, but the spell they cast on the window the night before was fading, allowing the daybreak to sift through and consequently throwing off his sense of time. He started the coffee pot and leaned against the counter while he waited for the pot to brew.
Caffeine would be necessary to stay awake today, or maybe he could sneak a nap in at some point. Hell, maybe he’d be able to convince Lily to join him for said nap. He could think of plenty of things they could get up to whilst they were in bed together. James let his mind wander to thoughts of getting to know her in a more intimate setting. The kind that he’d often wank to when he needed a release.
The rich smell of dark roast wafted through the living area. James forced his thoughts away from images of Lily writhing beneath him as he reached for a mug. He only barely heard the click of a door as he pulled the pot off to pour himself a cup.
“Another early morning?”
James looked up to see Lily standing there, her hair messy from sleep. She ran her fingers through it in an attempt to comb it out. The green of her eyes were barely visible under still somewhat droopy eyelids. Something stirred within him, and despite the fact that he was only seventeen, it was a view he knew he could get used to.
“That would imply I slept. I hope I didn’t wake you.”
“No, but I couldn’t resist the smell of coffee. Why couldn’t you sleep?”
“Peter’s snoring reached new levels last night.”
The lie slipped off his lips with ease, although it wasn’t altogether convincing. A simple Muffliato charm would have allowed him the peace and quiet he needed to fall asleep. Her skeptical look wasn’t lost on him as he absent-mindedly began fixing the cup he’d poured with the amount of milk and sugar Lily preferred. He wasn’t aware he was doing it until he handed it to her.
“Thanks,” she said. “Since when do you know how I take my coffee?”
“Come on, Evans, you don’t think I’ve noticed? Some things stick after eating breakfast with someone over the last year.” James smirked.
He grabbed another mug from the cabinet and poured his own cup without adding anything to it. James blew over the dark brown liquid to help cool it off as he watched Lily take a minuscule sip of her own.
“That’s fair. I still don’t know how you can drink yours black.”
“Some say I’m sweet enough on my own.” The quip was automatic as Lily laughed at his humor.
Merlin, her laugh is infectious. James swore the reason he said half of the stuff he did was so he could hear her laugh.
“Do you want to go for a walk?”
The question came from nowhere, but the early morning was so peaceful that he wanted to experience it with her, preferably hand in hand.
“Sure.”
They left their coffee mugs abandoned on the Formica as they headed to the door and slid on their shoes. Lily grabbed a jacket off the coat rack and zipped it up halfway. James closed the door quietly behind him then led her over to the trail he and the boys explored yesterday. The path wasn’t terribly long, but it ended up in a quiet and secluded area where the lake met pebbled terrain.
“So, was the dolphin a good sleeping partner?” James’s voice cut through the light layer of morning fog.
Lily chuckled. “I don’t know, I let Marly sleep with him instead.”
“Ah, Sirius will be heartbroken if he learns of your betrayal.” His words were meant to be a joke, yet they didn’t come across as lighthearted as he’d hoped.
“Well, good thing you won’t tell him. Right?” Lily’s questioning eyes made James’s heart skip a beat.
“I suppose I can keep your secret, Evans, but it’ll cost you.”
“Oh? And what might that price be, Potter?”
The green of the trees and shrubbery only enhanced the sparkle that glinted in her eyes. James wondered if she was testing him. Shouldn’t she know by now that he never backed down from a challenge?
“Ditch your friends and spend the day with me instead.”
“Like a date?”
“Yes, Evans, like a date.”
“Well, good thing we’re getting an early start. Now we can make the most of the day.”
James grinned at Lily’s acceptance as they continued down the trail.
They were nearly at the clearing by the water when Lily stopped, causing James to turn around. “Is this the path you and the boys were on yesterday afternoon?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Well, when Mary asked if you found anything interesting, you said no.”
“Because there isn’t…”
“That’s not true! Look at the blackberry bushes over there!”
James’s head turned to the direction Lily was pointing at, and sure enough, there were several bushes, low to the ground and full of clumps of blackberries. Lily bent down to pick a few off the branches.
“How do you know they’re blackberries and not nightshade or something?”
“Honestly, Potter, did you not pay attention when Sprout taught that unit on edible plants and where to find them in the wilderness?”
“No? Guess I was a bit distracted.”
“Nightshade grows off the stem in one circle. They look more like blueberries, except they’re shinier and darker. Blackberries have all the little bumps on them like this. Almost like a raspberry, but a different color.”
Lily picked a handful of berries during her explanation and stood when she was finished. James saw her holding them delicately in an effort to stop them staining her hands. Using her forefinger and thumb, she picked one up and held it to James’s mouth.
“Try it.”
James opened his mouth and let her place the berry on his tongue. He locked eyes with her as his lips closed around her fingers. An explosion of flavor bursts on his tongue as he bit down on the fruit. The tartness caused him to squint and pucker his lips slightly. Lily smiled at his reaction as she popped a couple berries in her mouth.
She was right—they tasted way better when picked fresh. He held out his hand for more, and she gave him a couple to munch on as they continued walking through the woods. James’s brain was fixated on the way she fed him as his feet moved him forward. Their hands grazed against each other, and James held on after the third bump. He felt her fingers intertwine with his as their steps aligned on the dirt path. As they inched their way toward the rocky clearing of the lake, a plan formed in his mind, and he knew exactly what he needed to do to match Lily’s brazenness of the night before and kick off their day-long date properly.
“Oh, wow,” she whispered as the trail gave way to the stunning view of the calm water ahead of them. The fog had settled across the still water, preventing them from seeing the other side of the lake.
“Lily—”
“Okay, the berries were one thing, but hiding this view from us? How—” Lily froze mid-sentence as comprehension dawned on her. “Did you just call me Lily?”
“Yeah, I did, but please go on about how we didn’t tell you about this.”
“No, I think I’d rather hear what you have to say instead.”
“You sure? I know how much you love being able to prove us wrong.”
James paused, waiting for Lily’s reaction. He loved riling her up like this. The way he alluded to something but then held it just out of her grasp to ensure that she truly wanted to know what he had to say. Shoving his hands in his pockets, he waited.
“What do you mean, am I sure? Would I have asked you to tell me if I wasn’t?”
He thought about keeping up with the banter, but he was tired of waiting.
“That’s fair. Look, I know I kissed you before—y’know, last night—but I didn’t do it right, and I’d like to make up for that right now if you’ll let me.”
There was a sharp intake of air, and if James could pat himself on the back for catching Lily off-guard, he would. But she regained her composure before shooting a challenging look in his direction.
“Since when does James Potter ask permission before kissing a girl? I thought he—how did Sirius put it? Sets his eyes on what he wants and goes for it?”
James chuckled and cringed at the same time, remembering how Sirius explained James’s intentions during fifth year.
“Well, as true as that may be, I still try to be a gentleman about it. I’d never make an unwanted advance if that’s what you’re implying.”
“Interesting, considering I thought I made it clear what I wanted last night.”
Were his eyes playing tricks on him, or did Lily just take a tiny step forward?
“Is that so?”
“It is. And it sounds like you’re stalling.”
“Please, Evans, you’d know when I’d be stalling.”
“What are you waiting for, then?”
The words barely escaped her mouth, James didn’t waste any more time as his hands lifted to cup Lily’s face. He leaned in and captured her lips with his, the tangy taste of the berries still lingering on her mouth. Everything about Lily’s lips were soft and inviting as her hands found a home on his lower back. He felt her mouth open slightly as her teeth grazed his bottom lip, eliciting a small moan from his mouth.
James deepened the kiss as his tongue swiped across her lips. Her hands pushed him closer as her mouth widened, inviting him to explore. A quack in the distance was the only thing that reminded them where they were, as James slowly broke away. She was more beautiful than he remembered, with her lips swollen from his kiss and the dazed look of bliss on her face.
“Well, I’m used to ending the date with a kiss, not starting it,” her words were breathless.
James chuckled at Lily’s words. “Am I to take that as a good or bad thing?”
“Good. Very good.”
“And just imagine, we’ve got the whole day ahead of us now.”
“This is true. Should we head back and get ready for the rest of the day?”
“Sounds brilliant.”
James had no idea what they were going to do for the day, but he planned on making the most of their time spent together. Nothing could go wrong.

Hopes and Friendships Chap. 2-The Witch and The Believer
Hello! I’m so glad you're enjoying this AU!
So updates may be a tad bit slow this month. Not only because my birthday is this Saturday, but just last week my dog who I had for 17 years (and is also my first dog ever) died and I was a broken mess. Couldn’t write as much as I used to, so I had to take a bit of a break to clear my mind and rest. I was able to get this story done as it was halfway before everything crumbled down. Luckily, my friends, my family and work seemed to help at least, which helped writing this story faster even if it was little by little.
Enjoy!
The sun started to rise over the town, as the light started to wake up Mu and Boss from their sleep. The two crash landed in a tree and after a while of struggle to free themselves from the branches. They decided to sleep there as sleeping on the ground or anywhere else would have someone catch them in the morning.
Mu groaned and slowly opened her eyes seeing the sun rise. She slowly stretched, but almost lost her balance forgetting she was still up the tree she crashed into. Mu sighed as she caught herself and went to wake her familiar.
The witch shook her cat, but he groaned not wanting to wake up. “Hey Boss! Wake up you lazy cat!” Mu shouted. However, Boss didn’t wake up and still wanted to sleep more. Mu groaned and grabbed Boss by his tail, which quickly woke him up, and held him up ready to drop him to the ground.
Boss yowled seeing his witch was going to kill him. “Are you crazy!” He yelled. “Why do you want to kill me?!”
Mu smiled and gave a snicker as she pulled him back and put the cat on her lap. “I had to wake you up somehow.” She told him. Boss gave a growl as Mu straightened herself up, grabbed her broom which was sitting up on a branch right above them. “Well come on, we better get back before Headmistress Elizabeth knows we’re missing.”
Boss nodded and went up on the broom as Mu flew up, but the ripple she entered in earlier was no longer there. She then flew around hoping to find some way back to Speranza but no ripple was around.
Mu was getting frustrated. “Great! Do you remember how we came here?” She asked.
“I do!” Boss replied. “We flew at night, and went through Magic Ripple. Can’t go back till tonight.” He explained.
“Great!” Mu groaned. She knew Headmistress Elizabeth was gonna flip, finding out she flew off and not flew off in another part of Speranza, but in another world! Another bad thing on Mu’s list of troubling behavior. She decided to fly down back towards the tree till she heard a voice coming her way and quickly hid.
“Oh witch!” Harriet called out. Since she woke up this morning, Harriet quickly jumped out of bed and wrote a note to her dad saying where she was going. Harriet hoped that the witch didn’t fly off while she slept. “Witch! Where are you?” She called out.
Mu looked from behind the tree and glared. “How could a mere normal girl know about witches?” She asked.
“I don’t know.” Boss replied with a shrug. He looked down and saw Harriet look around the bushes, which confused him. “We may have to keep our distance, normal people might be magic hunters.” He warned. Mu nodded, but as they kept watching they saw Harriet pull out a stick with a leaf at the top.
“Huh?” Mu wondered, tilting her head in confusion. “What is she doing?” The witch hopped on her broom and was ready to fly off. Boss noticed and quickly jumped on the broom as they followed Harriet from the sky.
The normal girl was using her stick and twirling it around, mumbling some spells as she pointed the stick at trees, bushes and even a puddle of water. Mu just rolled her eyes with how stupid Harriet was acting right now.
“Parappa! Ping! Oh Miss. Witch, appear!” Harriet commanded, pointing at a tree hoping the witch would appear. The child sighed seeing the witch wasn’t going to appear there either. “I know you're out there! Miss. Witch, or Mr. Witch!” She called out.
Mu went behind another tree and watched Harriet look for her. She was surprised how Harriet hadn’t given up finding her yet. Though Mu was the best in hiding even when someone tried to use their magic to find her. However, that will all change when Mu’s umbrella hits the branch, which rustles the leaves.
Harriet gasped and turned around facing the tree. She smirked and pointed her stick wand at the tree. “Parappa! Ping! Witch, appear!” Harriet shouted, pretending she was unleashing a large amount of magic. However, when Mu didn’t come out from the trees, the young girl sighed thinking it was just a bird or the wind and started to walk away.
Once Harriet was far away, Mu was able to appear from the tree branches and sighed seeing she was gone. The young witch tried to get up to her broom, but she lost her footing and fell on the ground.
“Ow.” Mu groaned. She slowly got up and gasped to see Harriet right in front of you.
“I KNEW IT!” Harriet yelled. “I KNEW THERE WAS A WITCH!” She yelled. Mu was freaking out as Harriet continued yelling excitedly about how she found a real live witch. “All these years I knew magic existed and today is finally the day a witch is here! Right in front of me! A real live witch!”
“Shush!” Mu yelled as she covered Harriet’s mouth. The young witch looked around and saw there was no one around and pulled Harriet aside behind the tree. “Listen here little missy. Don’t just be yelling witch out in the open. We could get in major trouble!” She explained.
Harriet removed Mu’s hand from her mouth. “B-but you're a witch!” She reminded her.
“W-well maybe I’m not a witch. I could just be a normal little girl who loves dressing up as a witch.”
“Nope she’s a witch.” Boss interrupted as he jumped up from the tree.
Mu blushed in embarrassment and glared at her familiar. “Boss shut up!” She yelled.
Harriet gasped in amazement and quickly scooped Boss into her arms and hugged him tightly. “A talking black cat!” She beamed. Soon Harriet started to snuggle the black cat, who now was starting to feel uncomfortable. “Oh you're so fluffy, and cute! I always wanted a cat, especially a black and fluffy one, but my dad is allergic.”
Boss tried to struggle out of Harriet’s grasp, but the young girl had a grip on him preventing his escape. “C-can’t breathe.” He gasped. “Mu help!”
Mu smirked and crossed her arms watching Harriet hugging the air out of Boss. Soon enough Harriet let go of the cat, who was breathing heavily from the human girl’s death hug. Harriet took a deep breath and smiled. “Sorry. I’ve just almost dreamed of seeing a witch.” She said calmly.
“I could see that.” Mu replied.
“So…” Harriet started, leaning towards Mu. “Got a name?”
Mu nodded. “I’m Emily Nerine, but everyone calls me Mu.” She introduced herself. “And this is Boss, my familiar.” When she introduced Boss he sat up proudly causing Mu to roll her eyes.
“I’m Harriet Kidd!” Harriet introduced herself. “It’s nice to meet you Mu!” She held her hand out hoping Mu would shake her hand in reply. The young witch looked at the human girl up and down before slowly grabbing her hand and shaking it. Once the two girls let go of their hands, the two girls stood there awkwardly. “Well...um...what brings you to Subcon?” She asked, hoping to break the silence.
“I just went on a flight across my home world, Speranza and just somehow landed here in Subcon.” Mu explained. “Is that what you call Earth?”
Harriet giggled. “No, silly.” She replied. “Earth is our planet, Subcon is just my hometown.”
“Oh.” Mu realized, sounding stupid just now. Harriet giggled again. She was starting to like this witch more and more now. Soon Harriet’s giggles stop when the young girl hears Mu’s stomach rumble. The young witch started to feel hungry as she hadn’t eaten since yesterday.
“You sound hungry?” Harriet noted. She then smiled having an idea where to take Mu. “H-hey we both haven’t eaten yet, so let’s have breakfast together!” She suggested.
Before Mu could deny the offer, Harriet took her hand and started walking. The young witch wondered what this girl wanted from her. Since her arrival all Harriet has done to her was greet her with kindness. “She must be up to something.” Mu thought.
Soon Harriet took Mu and Boss to a small waffle kiosk that was located in a grass field in the park. This kiosk had some benches so the two girls could sit and talk. Harriet led Mu and Boss to a bench so they could sit while Harriet went into her pocket and took out her wallet to order the food.
Mu and Boss watched Harriet walk up to the counter and order the food and then looked at each other. Not long after, Harriet came with two trays each with a waffle on them. Harriet’s waffles were pink with blueberry syrup and fruit while Mu’s had a chocolate flavored waffle with whipped cream and chocolate chips. There was also one small waffle for Boss in case he was hungry too.
“Go on, try it! My dad loves to take me here.” Harriet urged the young witch.
Mu looked at the waffles and then looked back at Harriet who was already eating hers. The young witch was starving and the sight of the waffles made her mouth water. Mu then grabbed her fork, took a piece of waffle and put it in her mouth.
The young witch eyes widened with how good the waffle tasted. “Wow this is good!” Mu beamed.
“They’re waffle cakes! You take a cake mix and turn it into a waffle!” Harriet explained before taking another bite into her waffle cake.
Mu giggled and soon the two were eating their waffle cakes! Boss tried his waffle cake by eating it in one bite, enjoying how good it was. While eating Mu, looked up at Harriet and asked her a question. “So Harriet, why do all this for me?” She asked.
Harriet stopped eating, confused a bit. “Well I’m just being nice. Plus I already said I like witches and have never met one in person before.” She explained.
“But why?” Mu repeated. “You must want something from me.”
Harriet sighed and dug into her pockets as she pulled out a picture. In the picture was her, when she was little, her dad and a woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes that shined like snowflakes.
“Because a witch took my mother.” Harriet revealed.

Quick little Author’s Note: I did some looking up on last names and Kidd is a last name. So yes I did a pun. Also Nerine is a kind of Spider Lily. I was trying to think of a creative last name for Mu for this AU and figured why not do a flower!

A Child’s Curiosity
Okay, so this is a little later than I promised but here it is! As thanks for over 200 followers, here is a brand new au! The GrowingUp!verse! It basically takes place in the same world, so tinies are still pets and all that stuff. But the ages of the youtubers? Well, you’ll see.
(I guess to keep this as non-confusing as possible, this would technically be part of the ReverseGrowingUp!verse)
(Thanks to @hiddendreamer67 for beta reading it!)
Jack kicked a pile of dirt as he walked outside. His hands were shoved in his jacket pocket as he walked through his back woods. He sighed as he turned back around, his house still in sight. He wasn’t allowed to go out too far. As long as he could see the house, he was good. He continued walking, rubbing his eyes.
He just wanted someone to play with. All his siblings were busy doing whatever is was teenagers did. They didn’t have time for him. His parents, too, were busy with adult things, as they said countless times. And living in a cabin in the middle of nowhere and being home-schooled meant there were no kids his age to play with either.
All of this was reason for his question to his Ma earlier today. Can I have a tiny? He had seen them advertised on TV and had learned and read about them in multiple history books. He thought they were so cool. They were called the perfect companions, the best pets in the world. He figured if he had a tiny, he wouldn’t be as lonely anymore.
But of course, his Ma had said no. You’re too young Sean. Her voice echoed in his mind. He knew you had to be at least eighteen to own a tiny here in Ireland, that’s why he had come up with a plan for his parents to buy one and just give it to him without anyone knowing. They said no.
After a small argument he had run out of the house to get some air and to get away. He really hated being ten. He was too young to do anything. All he wanted was someone to play with him. He sat down at the base of a tree, picking at the grass below.
***
Mark had woken up earlier that morning with a sinking feeling in his gut. He couldn’t explain it, but it just felt bad. He pushed the layers of tissue off his body and got out of the old bundled up human shirt that he called a bed. He entered the main area of their little dirt hovel and found his mom and brother sitting at their carved out wooden table. His father had carved, built, and found most of the things in their home before he died around a year ago. He had gotten sick. He shook the sad thoughts away.
He sat at the table next to his brother just as his mom gave him a slice of blueberry. His brother got the same and his mom sat down with her own plate. She smiled at him.
“Morning Mark, sleep well?” He nodded as he picked at the fruit. He sighed. His mom picked up on his feeling.
“Something wrong?” Mark bit his lip and glanced at Thomas before his eyes went back to his mother.
“Have you ever gotten this feeling in your gut? And it feels really bad?” He tried explaining how he felt. He didn’t even feel like eating currently. His mom gave a soft frown and she glanced at Thomas. He swallowed his bite before speaking.
“Yeah, we have. It usually means something bad is going to happen.” His older brother said and took another bite. Mark’s eyes widened, but his mom just laughed lightly.
“But it can be wrong sometimes as well. Keep in mind the feeling, but don’t let it ruin your day. More often than not, nothing will happen.” She gave him a kind smile and Mark grinned. She always knew what to say to make him feel better. He began to eat, suddenly with an appetite. The bad feeling was starting to go away anyway. Maybe it had just been a slight stomach ache.
After breakfast, Mark had decided to go outside and explore. It was really the only thing to do, after all. His brother was busy carving out more tools and furniture, just like their dad. And his mom was busy making new clothes for the two of them. He climbed the slight incline and moved the leaf out of the way. The outside was buzzing with life. Birds singing, the wind blowing softly, caring a cool breeze. A bumblebee passed by, buzzing and looking for freshly open flowers. He smiled. With a day like today, he felt even more convinced that his bad feeling had been wrong.
He started on his walk, keeping his eyes open for anything interesting or useful as he did so.
***
Jack kicked his feet up, his limbs landing on the ground with a dull thud. He was bored. Sure, he could go inside and play some of the video games he had or even watch TV, but he didn’t feel like doing any of those things. He wanted to play, with someone. But of course, that wasn’t an option.
He glanced at the ground to his right, noticing movement. At first he thought nothing of it, it was probably just a bug or squirrel or something. He focused more on it anyway, having nothing better to do and caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a tiny human before they hid behind a bush.
His eyes widened and he sat up straight. That had been a tiny, Jack was sure of it. Slowly, he crawled over to the bush, where the tiny thing had hidden itself away. He started rustling through the branches, trying to contain his excitement.
***
Mark barely had any time to think before he found himself diving into a nearby bush. His heartbeat sped up as he watched the human child, who couldn’t be much older than himself. He vaguely recognized him, as one of the occupants of the nearby house they sometimes borrowed from if they needed something that they couldn’t find in the woods.
But why was he just out here, doing nothing. Usually if he played outside he was active enough to create enough sound and shaking in the ground for them to know not to go out. Not this time though, and now Mark was gonna pay for not being careful.
The ground started shaking and Mark had to grab a nearby branch in order to keep him upright. From between the leaves he could see the human crawling closer. Mark’s eyes widened and he was frozen in fear. He watched helplessly as the human’s hand effortlessly moved the branches and leaves out of the way. In no time at all, brown eyes met giant blue ones.
Jack couldn’t stop the giant grin from overtaking his face. It really had been a tiny that he had seen. And one that seemed to be his age! Fate must have been looking after him, because this had been exactly what he wanted. He stuck his hand through the branches and reached for the tiny.
Mark finally snapped out of his frozen state of fear, but by then it was too late. The hand wrapped around his small frame, squeezing his midsection as the hand closed all the way and he found himself flying through the air. The bush zoomed passed him and he found himself in front of the child’s face. He squirmed and struggled with all his might, but the hand only twitched in response. He was completely at this human’s mercy.
Jack stared in awe at the tiny in his hands, taking in his appearance. Brown hair that was just a tad longer than his own and makeshift clothes that were well made, but Jack could tell they weren’t made in a factory. He felt the tiny squirming in his hand and tightened his grip a bit so he wouldn’t drop him. He gave him a friendly smile.
“Hi!” He said excitedly. Mark winced at the loud volume and close proximity, his trapped arms keeping him, from covering his ears. He swallowed a lump that was forming in his throat and didn’t speak. Mostly out of fear. Jack, for his part, didn’t seem to mind too much that he wasn’t talking yet.
“I can’t believe I found ya! I was just asking my ma for a pet tiny of my own!” Jack stood to his full height, leaving Mark’s stomach below. His heart stopped when he heard the word pet. He knew his kind were considered nothing more than mindless pets to most of the world’s population. He had heard horror stories from visiting tinies and his family. But actually hearing it? It sent shivers running down his spine. He didn’t want to become a pet.
Unfortunately for him, it seemed that the human had already made up his mind. Before he knew it, he was being taken far away from his home in the woods. The human’s steps shook his core, but he didn’t dare struggle anymore. The tightened grip around his middle when he did so before kept him from trying again.
Jack just about entered his house, hands and the tiny in plain sight before he stopped. His mom had already told him no, if he suddenly came in with a tiny then his parents might take him away. And then he would be right back where he started. He glanced down at the tiny in his hand and then looked toward his person. He didn’t have any pockets in his current outfit, so he settled for closing his hands completely around the tiny in order to hide him. With that done, he entered his house.
Mark couldn’t stop his trembling as the human’s hand completely covered him. The hand was no longer wrapped around his midsection, but this was somehow worse. He couldn’t see a thing and it was completely disorienting. The only thing he could do was stay still and listen.
Jack tried his best to be silent as he walked past the kitchen. It didn’t exactly work though, as his ma caught sight of him almost right away.
“Sean?” Jack froze in his tracks and slowly moved his hands behind him before turning to his ma with his best smile.
“Hey ma, I was just going up to my room.” His ma hummed and looked him over, for a second he thought she would call him out but he relaxed when she gave him a small smile.
“Look Sean, about earlier. It’s not that I don’t think you can handle it, but it is the law. I’m sure when you’re old enough you’ll be a great owner.” She rubbed the top of his head and Jack smiled, hoping it didn’t come across as nervous. He wanted to bolt up the stairs and to his room right then, but that might make her suspicious. So instead, he asked, “What’s for dinner?”
His ma smiled at him and went back over to the oven and stove. He noticed a pot sitting on top of the stove and he knew something was in the oven, though he couldn’t see past the grainy window. His ma opened the oven to check on the food and the wave of a familiar smell surrounded him.
“We’re having chicken and mashed potatoes. It’s not quite done yet though,” She closed the oven. “I’ll call you when it’s ready.” She gave him a smile and Jack smiled back before taking the cue and bounding up the stairs.
It wasn’t until he entered his room that he uncupped his hands. He stared in awe as the tiny stumbled in his hand. His movements were so small, yet familiar. Unlike anything he had ever seen. He brought his other hand over and poked the tiny’s middle.
Mark was having mixed feelings about being back in the open. On one hand, he was no longer confined by hands on all sides of him. On the other, he was still very much trapped and having the human, Sean, he heard his mother call him, staring at him in wonder was not a great feeling.
He noticed his other hand come toward him and he tried backing away, only to hit a wall of fingers behind him. A finger bigger than himself poked him not to gently in the stomach, knocking some air out of him. He rubbed his stomach, trying to keep his tears from falling. Not from the pain, but by how overwhelmed he was in the moment. If he started crying now, he would look even more vulnerable.
“I’m Sean by the way!” He said enthusiastically. “But you can call me Jack.” It was a nickname he had gained from his family when he was young that just sort of stuck. He looked to the tiny and titled his head in slight confusion.
“Does your kind have names? Do I need to give you one?” Mark’s heart dropped at the thought of this human changing his name. It would only drive home the fact that he was now a pet to this child. Instead of allowing that to happen, he gathered all the courage he had.
“W-we do have names! I’m Mark.” He said, stuttering over some of his words but stating his name clearly. Though, stating he had a name didn’t exactly mean Jack wouldn’t change it.
Jack’s eyes widened when he heard the tiny speak. It was soft and shaky, but Jack could still hear his voice fairly well. Jack replayed the tiny’s words in his head and grinned.
“Mark! I like it!” Jack exclaimed. Mark cowered back at the loudness of Jack’s voice. His words gave him relief that his name wouldn’t be changed, but it also gave the notion that if Jack hadn’t liked his name, it would have been changed. He didn’t say anything else though.
Jack walked over to his bed and knelt down beside it, setting Mark down on the bouncy ground. Not expecting it, Mark lost his balance and fell over. Jack giggled and reached over to help him up. Mark couldn’t stop the fingers from pinching his shirt and setting him upright. Jack hummed.
“I don’t have a terrarium for you or any other tiny thing. I won’t be able to get one either.” Jack admitted. His age would stop him from even going into the tiny shop by himself. Mark, for his part, froze at the mention of a terrarium, knowing it was just another word for cage. He was at least thankful for the lack of that.
“But don’t worry! You’ll always be with me, so you won’t need one!” Mark felt his stomach sink. He then let out a terrified yelp as Jack’s fingers wrapped around him. He was once again brought in front of his face.
“I’ll take good care of you! You’ll see!” Mark brought his head down, knowing there was no escape now. His bad feeling at been right, he should have been more careful.
He was now a pet to a human child.
He had to get out of there.

OITNG chapter 10
Valentine's Day Two months after the mall incident Max and Victoria had been going strong after their failed hangout at the mall and after the movie date. But today was Valentine's Day, love day. The day you spend with your significant other. Since the pair still hadn't gone public with their new romance, their date had to be secluded. They, however didn't know that Chloe and Rachel knew about them and half of their dorm mates. How? Well.... Flashback Chloe had to tell someone, it couldn't be kept secret forever. Rachel said not to out them but she didn't say anything about not telling anyone. It was Kate who she told...by err mistake. Walking into the dorm bathrooms, she bumped into Kate, who seemed to sense her struggle. She asked "Chloe, what's wrong?". Chloe thought about telling her but nah, bun bun couldn't handle that. "Nothing bun bun" Chloe said nervously rubbing her hands together. Kate noticed this of course. So she said "oh no, do I need to get to Max? Wait where is Max?". She had a look on her face with thought. Word vomit...the worst thing ever. "I don't know, she's probably with Victoria" Chloe quirked, unaware that she was spilling the secret. Kate giggled, "of course, she is...she told me her and Victoria are really good friends now". Chloe talks without thinking again "more than you know" she mumbled under her breath. Kate could hear that. "What do you mean 'more than you know'?" She asked confused. Chloe innerly facepalms...'damn I fucked up again, I better make up a quick lie or excuse to leave'. "Oh nothing, would you look at the time, I gotta go see you later bun bun" she pats Kate's bun then starts to leave. Only to be stopped by Kate staring at her with those big puppy dog eyes. Chloe tries to side step Kate, but was met with no avail. "Chlobird, what aren't you telling me?" Kate says in that cutesy voice that could make one melt. Starting to get even more nervous and not wanting to make Kate cry. Chloe decides to tell her, "I saw Max and Victoria kissing in a wooded area on a blanket back in January" she says before wincing just waiting for Kate's response. The small blonde in response just stares into space almost like she is in a trance. She says in one phrase "I am shook". Chloe facepalms. She had broke Kate Marsh. After getting Kate out of shooklike state, Chloe says with all serious "You can't tell anyone, alright?" Kate nods. She checks her phone and says something about having to meet up with her church group. Chloe decides to go get something to eat. The two girls opened the bathroom door, only to be met with an eavesdropping Dana and Juliet who are standing there with mouth wide open and shocked faces. Chloe tells them what she told Kate. They agree not to tell anyone before parting ways. Chloe thought 'hmm maybe this won't be so bad' right? Ha! Wrong. The news about the newfound relationship of their fellow dorm mates spread like wildfire, Kate told Alyssa who in turn told Brooke and Stella. (Brooke, however didn't believe her since she knows Max is in love with Warren). Dana kept her promise but just said "it's about time". Juliet, on the hand saw this opportunity as hot gossip so she spread it to Taylor and Courtney who went on about staging an intervention for Victoria. Once the news got to Rachel. She left an angry text message and phone call on Chloe's phone. Chloe had knew she had fucked up. End of flashback Max spent the Valentine's Day morning packing for her and Victoria's camping trip. She had gotten the idea when her and Victoria were watching an old episode of spongebob(don't ask). She had gotten a text from Victoria that morning that read: Tori<3: Happy Valentine's Day Maxine, I can't wait for our trip :*...also you better be getting ready, because I will go there and take the captain hostage. Yes she had known about the captain. Max finished up packing with a reasonable amount of camp supplies, her clothes and toiletries...she looked over to her guitar and thought 'maybe I should bring that'. She put her guitar in its case, she looked around her room more to see if she had missed anything. If she did then Victoria would've brought it. They were going to a wooded area by the lighthouse. She texted Victoria asking if she was done packing...Victoria responded back asking her to meet by her car in the back parking lot. Max grabbed her things then started heading out, she was stopped by Kate who said "have a nice dat...day with Victoria". Max just shrugged at Kate's response then walked to the parking lot where Victoria was waiting for her with what looked like a huge suitcase in the back of her car. Max facepalmed. 'Look at this idiot I'm dating'. She greeted her girlfriend with a hug and kiss when they thought no one was around. Even though they saw each other the night before, she placed her things in the back of the car...well tried to place them in the back because Victoria's suitcase with god knows what in it was taking up half the space. In the end, Max would have her bag of clothes and necessities in her lap and her guitar would be placed in the empty space in the backseat. They sat in their seats and headed to their destination. Jokes were cracked like "geesh Tori, what did you bring half your dorm?". Which was answered with "Maxine, who knows what dangers we will face in the woods? I brought enough things to survive a week and to escape a mountain lion" Victoria smirked. Max just laughed because they lived in Arcadia Bay, the odds of a mountain lion attacking a wooded area by a lighthouse were slim to none. Halfway through the journey Max got a text from Chloe that read: Chloe: I hope icky Vicky doesn't end up killing u Max laughed at this, because if Chloe knew how close they were, she responded back with a witty response that led into string of jokes and memes. Victoria noticed Max being into her texting conversation and wondered 'who is she talking to?'. So she glanced over when they stopped at a stop sign. The name of the offender texting and making her Maxine laugh was Chloe. 'Of course, that Cleo...clover girl taking Maxine's attention away from me, I bet if she wasn't with Rachel she would be pinning for Maxine' She wasn't jealous...no, of course not.. They reached the lighthouse and found the wooded area, it was beautiful the sun was their main view with the beach and trees serving as a background so to speak. They got their things out of the car and decided to find a nice area to set up camp. There was an area that wasn't surrounded by that many bushes or trees. It was the perfect spot it overlooked the horizon which would be perfect for stargazing or watching the sunrise. They set camp there. Well Victoria set up camp, Max just stood around because she knew she couldn't set up a tent. The tent was a pink color which could fit 8 people, it had looked like one of those tents they set up in the wild on mission trips. Where Victoria got the tent? Max didn't question it, she was just happy to spend Valentine's Day with her girlfriend. She decided to write in her journal about the day. It had been past 2:00 when they arrived there and their tummies were grumbling, they were hungry. Luckily there was a picnic basket full of treats for lunch, dinner and breakfast. They would put the remaining food in the mini fridge. They sat down by the tent with a picnic blanket to sit on and got ready to eat. The first things out of the basket were the plates, silverware and drinks, iced tea and lemonade. Next was the food; sandwiches were made of turkey, lettuce, cheese, tomato, and mayo as a topping on sub bun. For a side was a mixture of fruit ranging from strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and all type of mixed fruits. And for dessert, simple apple pie. Once they situated their plates, they ate and chatted and joked around. Max thought it would be a good idea to throw little pieces of fruit in each other's mouths. It only turned out to be like... *Max throws the blueberry at Victoria's mouth but hits in the face* "Ouch, my gosh Maxine your aim sucks, I can see why you never played on a sports team" "Ohh that hurts right there in my cold cold heart" Max gawks jokingly. *Victoria wipes the mess the blueberry made on her face off* She turns to Max who is sporting a 'sad' look with an adorable pout on her face. "Aww what would make you feel better?" She says in a cutesy voice batting her eyelashes. Max puts on a thinking face then says "maybe a kiss would help, I am pretty hurt" . Victoria comes closer to Max and brushes her nose against the brunette's, she glances in her blue eyes before pressing her lips against the others' they started kissing. Max moves her hand to Victoria's waist, this initiates Victoria to push her tongue against Max's lips telling her that she wants more, Max opens her mouth. Their tongues do a little dance. They go about this for a few minutes before separating for air. Max breaths deeply, "wowzer, I've never done anything like that before". Victoria smirks. "So I guess you're saying I'm good at making out?". Max lightly pushes her shoulder. "Yeah sure Tori." She laughs. The two girls decide to go explore before it hit night fall, it had been a while since Max had been to the lighthouse and Victoria surprisedly had never actually to the place but driven by plenty of times. The lighthouse brought back good and bad memories. The doors to the place were unlocked so they went inside, from the outside it just looked like a plain old lighthouse but on the inside it was glorious. Max walked to some graffiti that was fading. It was a painting of a girl, with brown hair and green eyes. It read by the side "I'm still thinking about you". 'I wonder what the story behind this one was?', she turned and noticed Victoria walking up the stairs, she walked to follow her and grabbed her hand to hold it. Victoria felt the touch and intertwined their fingers. The couple walked up the stairs and stopped to look at the forbidden art on the walls. "Wow, it looks soo beautiful up here". "The only thing that is beautiful up here is you". "*she laughs* oh Maxine you are so cheesy, I love it". They reached the top of the lighthouse and looked at the view from there to outside, it was a perfect view for Max to give Victoria her gift. She had hid it there Victoria wasn't looking. "Ohhh what is this?" Victoria noticed the bag with a card that read "Happy Valentine's Day Tori, I love you and so glad we are together". She opened the bag and pulled out a charm bracelet with 'm+v=<3' on the back of it, a box of chocolates and some earrings. 'What a sweet present, I hope Maxine likes mine'. She looked at her gifts then turning to the brunette, pulling her into a soft kiss. "I take it you liked them? Hehe" the brunette said rubbing the back of her neck. Victoria giggled at her cuteness, "like them? I love them!...ohh we should head back to the tent and get ready for dinner yeah?". Max nodded. They headed back to their campsite. Victoria guided Max back to the tent, telling her to check something she thought she saw in there. Max stepped into the tent and saw a beautiful display, their bedding area had roses splayed on it, with a box and a bag addressed to Max. She went to the bag first pulling out a big teddy bear, with a card that read "a sister for the captain". She hugged the new stuffed animal then went for the box next. There are another card that read "Happy Valentine's Day Maxine! There is no one else in this world I'd rather spend it with than you. I hope we stay together for a long time! I love you! Xoxo Tori", opened up the box and saw a new t-shirt with a deer and a cat on it. She found it funny because in retrospect it represented them. She called out to Victoria, who entered the tent. She walked quickly over to her girlfriend kissing her, knocking her down in the process. The two kissed for a few minutes. Victoria repeated Max's earlier phrase in response, earning herself a light push. She smiled back to that. They both put their gifts by their things and got ready for dinner since it was almost 6 o clock. The sun had gone down by 5:30, so sadly they missed the sunset. However, they wouldn't miss the sunrise. For dinner, was salad, roasted chicken, and wine and for dessert was chocolate and s'mores.when they got finished with their meals, they started roasting marshmallows. This reminded Max of something, so she got her guitar out. Victoria sat on the bench next to her girlfriend wondering what she would be playing. Max started playing a familiar tune then started singing. Let's gather round' the campfire and sing our campfire song. Our C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song and if you don't think I can sing it faster then you're wrong but it would help if you just sing along Tori! Bom bom bom She started singing faster C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song And if you dont think that I can sing it faster then you're wrong But it'll help if you just sing along Tori! She waited for Victoria to sing but all the blonde did was sit there grinning at her silly girlfriend. She decided to humor her and started singing along. C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G It'll help
It'll help If you just sing along!
OH YEAHH!! The two girls started laughing at how silly they looked. They ate more s'mores, chatted about many things, told ghost stories that didn't scare Max but scared Victoria even though she wouldn't admit it. They decided to leave the fire going it was still cold in Arcadia Bay, got ready for bed and went to the tent. They made out for a while, before settling down and going to sleep. Around 3 am Max is awoken by Victoria who is mumbling about seeing a bear and a ghost from the story she told her, insisting Max to go check outside with a flashlight. Max steps outside the tent, she surveys the area and sees not much is touched but the marshmallows they left out. Whatever touched the marshmallows left a trail, she followed the trail which lead her to a family of rabbits who were using the marshmallows as pillows. She decides to pick a baby and humor her girlfriend. She walks back to the tent and starts screaming, she lays down placing the baby rabbit on her and plays dead. Victoria rushes out of the tent and sees her girlfriend laying down with a rabbit on her. She rushes over to Max, cradling her in her chest after moving the rabbit who hopped back to its home but not after stealing another marshmallow. "Maxine!!! Can you hear me?! When I find that rabbit I'm gonna give it a piece of my mind" she strokes the girl's cheek. Max 'wakes' up "Tori, I-is that you?" She squints her eyes. Victoria looks shocked at this nearly in tears "oh no, that rabbit must've hurt you". Max decides to end this ruse. "Yeah...but first off...really a rabbit? The noise was the rabbits taking back marshmallows to use them as pillows for their home". Victoria perplexed by this discovery is brought back then punches Max in the shoulder. "You scared me...I thought you were hurt!" Victoria pouts. Max realizes that her scream must've really scared Victoria, so she comes up with a solution. "Maybe we could cuddle to see if you feel better" Max suggested shrugging. Victoria put her hand out. Max led the way, the pair cuddled like they did after they had their movie date. Victoria's heartbeat slowed down and matched with Max's. The pair slowly fell back to sleep. Dreaming of spending time together forever. Morning fell with Max and Victoria's limbs intertwined, neither of the two girls wanted to get up and face the realities of school and well people. They had gotten up in time to see the sunrise, with bedheads the pair sat on the beach cuddled up together with their breakfast bagels. Watching the sunrise in Arcadia Bay was beautiful, the colors from the sun emulated on the beach water. The colors hit it just perfectly, Max quickly went back to get her camera and capture the beautiful moment she took two pictures, one for herself and the other for Victoria. They both looked at each other after the sun rose and realized it was time to pack up and get ready to go back to school. They packed up their things after getting ready, looking back to their now empty campsite. They intertwined fingers heading to Victoria's car. Victoria stopped Max by a pull of her hand. "I have to ask you something" Victoria nervously asked. Max shrugged indicated her to continue on, "umm yesterday, when you were texting your friend Clover...you two were just friends right?" Victoria asked avoiding eye contact. Max realized Victoria may have been worried because her and chloe were close. She reassured her that all was fine "yes, Tori I love you...if I had any romances in the past I would've told you by now. Chloe is my best friend we've known each other for a long time, you have nothing to worry about okay?" Victoria nodded. They continued on to Victoria's car. Victoria pushed the key in the ignition, she thought 'silly me, of course Clover and Max were just friends...I've got nothing to worry about right? Right?'. She started her car, holding her right hand with Max's left hand, squeezing it and smiling at her. Driving back to Blackwell academy with little worry but a memory of her Valentine's Day with her love.
