Forever and a day
Hey guys Hope you’ll enjoy and as usual, likes, reblogs and feedbacks are greatly appreciated!
Masterlist
(gif not mine)
The night was like the ones you only see in the middle of summer even though it was Christmas. The deep blue sky, almost dark and dotted with thousands of bright stars, was only lightened by the moon, a fantastic crescent illuminating the garden of the Burrow along with Fred and me. The only thing blurring periodically our sight was the cloud forming in front of our mouths when we breathed, except that, this was a magical vision.
The Burrow, as each and every Christmas, was animated and full of joy and laughter. It was awesome, really, but Fred and I had needed a bit of time alone as we hadn’t had a lot of occasions since his departure from Hogwarts, a few months ago. We had escaped the loud cheers, preferring the peaceful silence of the night, accepting the biting cold as it gave us an excuse for cuddling, losing ourselves in the stars.
A particularly violent shiver shook me, and Fred tightened his grip around my waist.
“We can go back inside, if you want.” he said while rubbing my sides with energy.
“No, I want to stay.”
I looked up again to the stars and noticed a few seconds later that Fred’s gaze hadn’t followed mine.
“What? Do I have something on my nose?”
“Except that adorable red colour, no, you have nothing.”
“Yeah, that’s because I love Rudolf the rednosed reindeer.” I declared before chuckling when Fred frowned.
“Is that another muggleborn reference?” he asked. “Dad never told me about this one.”
“I guess you know him as Patrick the red tailed niffler.”
In front of Fred’s incomprehension and once my laughters had eventually calmed down, I explained who Rudolf the rednosed reindeer was.
“And we wonder why muggles don’t believe in magic,” he mumbled. “If they present it like something that childish…”
I didn’t want to debate on the muggle’s capacity of imagining what magic could be - I knew it could turn into a heated argument - and decided to change the subject.
“If nothing was hanging from my nose, then why were you eyeing me so intensely?”
Fred’s cheeks and ears, who were already red because of the freezing air, darkened and I smirked when he scratched the back of his neck, a recurrent gesture that never failed to show when he was nervous.
“That’s because, well, the moonlight… It makes you look, err- it makes you look cool, I mean- Stop laughing, I just wanted to compliment you!”
Indeed, I was laughing softly, melting on the inside because he was so cute when he was nervous… And Fred was almost never nervous. He was always so self confident, such an adorable and cocky boy, yet when he wanted to express his deepest feelings, he became a stuttering mess. And I loved this side of him, way more than the side that always wanted to dye my hair in green, that was for sure.
“And you did well complimenting me, Freddie. The moonlight suits you too pretty well, love.”
And it truly was, from the freckles on his nose that contrasted with his pale skin to the sparkle in his eyes and including his hair that seemed softer than ever, everything of him which was usually awesome appeared just perfect under the moonlight. No kidding, my boyfriend was the best of all.
Fred chuckled, mumbling something that sounded like “Your compliment was still better than mine” and pulled me closer to him. We were sitting on a bench, far enough from the house to be sure nothing - or no one, and especially not George or Ginny - would disturb us. We were still stargazing, both lost in thoughts deeper than the other could imagine, and not necessarily really happy. When a shooting star crossed the sky, that’s all naturally that my dearest wish crossed my mind, and fear flooded suddenly in my body.
I hope we’re all gonna survive this war.
I immediately felt the urge to be comforted by Fred, like every time I thought of the war inexorably approaching, and like every time, he tightened me a bit more and laid soft kisses on my hair.
“It will be okay love. We’ll be okay.”
“How can you be so sure? Fred, it can happen so fast…”
“Y/N, listen to me.” His tone was firm but it was only to make me calm down, I knew it. “As long as I’ll be there, nothing will happen to you, I promise. And as long as you’ll be there, nothing will happen to me because I just cannot bear the thought of you being alone. Do you understand? I’ll be yours for forever, and you’ll be mine for forever. If you keep that in mind, then we’ll stay together.”
Our foreheads were now pressed against each other, and my hands were cupping his cheeks. Fred’s eyes were burning, a flame I had only seen a few times making them shine brighter than the sun. It was pure love. At the moment, I was so scared, so terrified and yet feeling so stupid for doubting of us that I reacted the only way I knew.
“Forever? It isn’t long enough for me, love.”
“Then let’s say for forever and a day.”
“It doesn’t make that much of a difference, does it?”
“A lot can happen in a day.” he whispered before leaning in and pressing his lips against mine.
And as the fire of our love was slowly consuming us, as the cold air seemed to disappear to be replaced by a warm atmosphere, I was so absorbed in the moment, so focused on his lips and his hands, that it never crossed my mind that Fred had expressed his deepest feelings without stuttering once.

“Molly, you better tell these delinquents to stop their traffic!”
“That’s not traffic, dear aunt Muriel, that’s business.” said Fred with a smirk before tying an imaginary tie.
Muriel grumbled and threw an imperious glance at Molly, who didn’t do anything but shrugging.
“They don't listen to me, Muriel. I’m sorry.”
This dear old aunt Muriel had accepted to hide her family, the Weasleys being in danger now that everyone knew Ron was with Harry, and Fred had made a scene as he wanted me to hide with them. Muriel had firstly refused, pretending she wouldn’t have the energy to bear one more person.
“Trust me, you’ll never survive with me if she doesn’t come with us.” He had muttered, after what Molly had ordered him to shut up for once and had pleaded my cause.
Muriel hadn’t had any other choice than accepting, and I suspected her to know Fred would have found a way to make me come here anyway. As a revenge, she had decided to be more insufferable than usual, which was an exploit according to George.
“Shut up, it will begin!” suddenly exclaimed Bill, who was here with Fleur for one of the visits that were becoming more and more frequent as the weeks passed.
Everyone gathered around the radio, Muriel complaining that she was busy writing a very important letter - Ginny confessed to me she had read a few sentences, and Muriel was in fact writing to one of the old blabbermouths she had for friends. After several hissing begging her to shut up, we all waited for Lee to begin his emission. We waited, but… Nothing.
“I don’t understand…” muttered Bill. “I thought-”
“Do you think it means something happened to him?” I asked, petrified at the thought that one of my best friends could be hurt because he had always kept bringing us hope.
“No, he’s too smart to be caught.” assured George.
But I caught the worried glance he exchanged with Fred. The silence seemed to last forever, and Bill eventually stopped trying.
“Maybe he just can’t right now,” he said. “I’ll keep trying to catch the signal, we’ll see.”
“That won’t be necessary.”
Ginny’s voice was blank, and I turned to see that her face was pale. However, the flame of her determination was burning in her eyes.
“Harry is at Hogwarts, and apparently the fight is for soon.”
Fuck. That was the first thing that came to my mind. As my brain was trying to process what Ginny had said and what it implied, Molly pressed her on with interrogations.
“How do you know that? Ginny, is Ron with him? Is he safe? Ginny!”
Without a word, she handed her mother the false galleon I recognized easily.
“Mum, we’ve got to go to Hogwarts.” said George.
“How?” asked Molly with a quiet voice.
“The Hog’s Head. There’s a tunnel leading to the room of requirements.” replied Ginny.
Molly sighed and murmured she had to warn the order. Fred and George got up in the same movement, and I immediately did the same.
“Y/N, you stay here.”
For a second, I thought it was a joke. A particularly bad one, but a joke. However, I had never seen Fred being so serious. His jaw was clenched and he was frowning, and at the moment his eyes were darker than they had ever been.
“I- what?” I asked in disbelief.
Fred glanced at George before sighing. He grabbed my hand and half dragged me to the room we shared with his twin. He sighed once more and quickly passed a hand in his hair.
“Y/N, I want you to stay here with aunt Muriel.”
“Are you crazy? I won’t stay on the sidelines, Fred. Don’t count on it.”
“Love, please, I just-”
“No!” I yelled. Fred winced. “There’s no way you’re going to fight without me!”
“Love, I just want you to be safe.” He grabbed my hand and lightly kissed my knuckles. “How long will be our forever if something happens to you?”
“Why do you keep thinking I’m the only one who could get hurt? Fred, I know how- how reckless you can be and… And I need to be with you, Fred, I need to be sure you won’t do anything stupid, you understand?”
“And if something happens to me? Y/N, if I die-”
“Don’t say that!” I squealed.
“If I die, who will keep you safe?”
Maybe Fred hadn’t heard me, all absorbed in his thoughts as he was, or maybe he felt the need to get this out of him. I would understand, I was feeling the exact same thing, I wanted to say out loud that maybe I would die too. This way, it would be real, totally real, and I could focus on something else. The way of keeping us alive, for example. But if something had to happen to Fred, if despite all my efforts, his fate was to leave me, then I knew what I would have to do. It was obvious.
“If you die,” I murmured, “then I’ll make sure our forever is still a thing.”
“Don’t say that. Y/N, please, don’t say such a thing. I- I forbid you to… Y/N, if I die- if I don’t make it out alive, promise me- promise me you’ll live. No matter what love, I need to know you’ll carry on.”
“Only if you promise the same.”
And that promise was sealed with the saddest kiss we had ever shared, our tears giving it a salty taste, our hands grabbing the other’s clothes in the same way you grip on the last thing that makes you alive. And it was true; at the moment, Fred was the only thing that helped me stay sane, and I had the firm conviction that our survival depended on each other.
From the moment I had stepped in the room of requirements until the moment everything had gone black around me, from the moment Fred had made me swear to stay next to him until the moment I had lost him between two green flashes of light, from the moment I had stumbled upon Percy to the moment I had run into Fred’s arms, my own body had been controlled by the most primitive survival instinct. A rage I didn’t suspect had taken over me, making me kill enemy after enemy, without ever considering the fact that they were human. One the wrong side, maybe, despicable, for sure, but still human, with maybe children that were waiting for them at home. Not one second did I think of anything else than being enveloped in Fred’s arms after the end of the war, enjoying our victory hopefully without any loss and living our life like we deserved. But I had to get through this, I had promised him I would, and he had promised me too.
I was unable to open my eyes, my body being entirely sore and my head seeming on the verge of the explosion. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t move to get rid of this small pebble that was planting itself in my shoulder blade. The blood was rushing behind my ears, and the sound was not without recalling the sound of a river. It was somehow soothing.
And slowly, or as it seemed for me as I didn’t have any way to measure time, the adrenaline in my veins disappeared, letting my heart beat less quickly and I could eventually hear what surrounded me. At first, it only sounded like a buzzing, and some noises gradually distinguished themselves. Steps near my head. Loud voices. Laughters. Cries. And after the hearing, it was my sight that came back to normal.
The light surrounding me was forming a bright halo behind my closed eyelids. When my eyes were finally used to such a brightness, they flickered open. The very first thing I saw was a bunch of vaults above me, some of them half destructed and the sky being visible in some places. The second thing I saw was a glimpse of red hair. A smile immediately stretched my lips before disappearing. It was George, and something was wrong.
“George?” I asked quietly, my throat being so sore that this only world almost made me throw up.
When George looked at me with puffy red eyes, my stomach twisted into a painful knot. It took a lot of energy for me to do something as simple as looking around me, but nowhere did I see the smile I needed. I wanted to ask him where Fred was, if everyone was okay, but I only managed to moan weakly. Much to my horror, tears flooded from George’s eyes and he pulled me against him without an ounce of delicacy. He just tightened me against his chest, clutching desperately on the back of my shirt, loud sobs shaking his shoulders. Without even knowing what had happened - or knowing it but refusing to believe it - I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him as tight as I could, feeling the tears rolling on my cheeks despite myself.
George cried for a long time, and so did I without even being fixed on why we were such a wreck at the moment. When finally he stopped crying, he pushed me back just enough to look at me in the eyes without letting go of my shoulders. And when I looked into these eyes I knew so well and not only because they looked like Fred’s, when I saw the most heart wrenching desperation I could ever see, I slowly understood. And slowly, I felt the same desperation invading my eyes, and an excruciating pain taking over my body, because he had promised. He had promised nothing would happen to him.
George grabbed my hand and without a word, he helped me get up. My legs were too weak to support my own weight, let alone the weight of my pain, and I clung onto him like the lifeline that prevented me from drowning in my sorrow. We walked slowly, one step after the other, and it felt like we were struggling against a powerful courant. When they saw us, George’s siblings - I couldn’t recognize who - stepped backward, none of them saying anything. Another step, and another. Arthur helped Molly get up, and she obliged in a painful sob.
When she got up, I saw Fred’s body.
His clothes were torn and dirty. Blood covered the fabric and his skin. His eyes were closed, and he was still smiling. But he was dead.
My knees gave up on me and I fell on the ground. I grabbed his hand desperately, his skin was as cold as ice and I didn’t recognize its touch, which used to bring me so much comfort because it was always so warm. And the tears were continuously rolling, blinding me whereas I wanted to memorize each detail of his face. Then the sobs arrived, all more painful than the precedent but still pleasant compared to the pain in my heart. George was crying next to me, an arm still around my shoulders, and we stayed like this for a long time.
The night was falling on the castle, yet what remained from the Great Hall was still full of broken souls like George and I. People who weren’t ready to leave the last place they had seen their loved ones. George’s family had come back to the Burrow, preferring to mourn Fred in the intimacy of their house, but we weren’t ready yet. We were still sitting on the ground, in front of an empty place where Fred’s body had been laying before being carried away.
We were staring blankly in front of us, George’s arm around my shoulder and my head resting on his, probably doing the same thing, namely recalling Fred.
“I didn’t say I loved him…” My throat was sore after all the sobs that had shaken my body, yet I needed to say it, because the guilt and the regrets were suffocating me.
“He knew it.” replied George, his voice as weak as mine and oh so broken.
And I couldn’t know it, but George was remembering the last time Fred had rambled about me in front of him. “You have no idea on how much I love her, Georgie.” he had said with a goofy smile. “I would do anything for her… She’s the love of my life, I know it. You know what? When all of this is over, I’ll marry her.”
“He knew it and he loved you too, Y/N.”
“And he loved you too. He was so proud of you, George.”
And we burst into tears, hugging each other with the same strength we wanted to hug Fred with, with the desperation we shared of having lost one of the most important persons in our lives.
We cried because Fred was dead and at the moment, it felt like we would always cry because this loss was too much for us to bear.
“I’ll be yours for forever, and you’ll be mine for forever. If you keep that in mind, then we’ll stay together.”
“Forever? It isn’t long enough for me, love.”
“Then let’s say for forever and a day.”
“It doesn’t make that much of a difference, does it?”
I was so stupid, because now, I would give anything for just one more day with you.
One day to say I love you.
One day to live the forever we deserved.

COTW - Chapter 12 update
Leaving Eren sleeping, Levi was forced to drag himself to work, dropping a still sleepy Viren off at Hanji's on the way. Eren had to be at the function centre they were holding the wind up in at 10am, his mate springing on him that he was supposed to be helping with the set up, the previous night. Though he did insist that he'd told Levi, and it was written on the fridge calendar... not that'd he'd acknowledge it. Not until he realised he was upsetting Eren instead of his mate being able to take it as a joke. He didn't like the idea of his pregnant mate being on his feet all day, but there was nothing he could do about it. His shift started at 5am, and even showering at work would be cutting things fine. He was dressing up for Eren's sake, trying to make amends for his stupid spat of jealousy. Thankfully he was on a split shift. His morning in the field, with the last few hours working with students completing their Paramedic degree. Most of that involved role-play, much to his disgust, but with Erwin still being in a shitty arse mood, it was actually preferable. If he was upset with him, he'd wish the man would just spit it out, and if he was upset with Mike, he wished the two of them would just bone it out... It was tiring, and beginning to affect patient care. Erwin had dropped the ball at an accident, nearly costing the victim their life. He didn't want to write Erwin up, but he also didn't know how to ask him what the fuck was going on with him. He wasn't sure he wanted to know, and he definitely didn't want to fight with Erwin over Eren again. The last half an hour of his shift was the worse. He was so close to seeing Eren, yet his students were shitty idiots. He'd somehow managed to catch the eye of two young female betas, that insisted on bombarding him with pointless questions. What kind of moron didn't know that you didn't put butter on a burn because it seals the heat in. Even burn creams didn't compare to fresh cool running water. And then... just as he'd thought he was free, they'd been waiting for him outside the depot. Dressed in his suit, with his hair still dripping, the pair of them had bombarded him with even more pointless shitty questions. Where was he going? What was he doing? Was he seeing someone? Like the mark on his neck and the ring on his finger didn't scream that. Stupidly, he'd tried to deflect, saying he was on his way to see his omega and son. One of them, less than quietly, "whispering" to her friend he was a "total DILF". He was so fucking done. Climbing into his car, he fished his phone out his pocket. Eren had been providing him with photos since his arrival at the function centre. His fiancée running late to arrive, sending a selfie labeled "I over slept!". It didn't look like it. His love looked perfect. A healthy red glow in his cheeks as he smiled up at him. Sending his mate a quick text to tell him he was on the way, there were only a few moments before he replied, Eren promising to meet him out the front of the function centre. The function centre had the usual crappy parking. Levi having to partially block the alley running between the side of the centre, and the next building. He was lucky to even get space, and it wouldn't have been a problem if the arsehole with their tiny car hadn't parked half over the bay lines. With the day he'd had, he was sorely tempted to smash their windows in. Jogging up the front steps, he finally managed to crack as a smile. Eren looked brilliant. Dressed in a dark suit with an emerald green shirt, and white tie, his mate took his breath away "Levi?" "You look amazing" Blushing softly, Eren walked over to him, grazing his cheek with a soft kiss. His hair had been neatly combed back, forming a man bun. He normally hated them, but he looked amazing. There were probably a million different words to describe how good his omega looked, yet his brain had short circuited to "amazing" "Thank you. You look... hot. And tired" "Hot as in hot? Or hot as in hot?" "Sexy. Gorgeous. Perfect. Hot" "I wanted to look nice for you" "Oh, you look nice. More than nice... you have no idea the things, you in a suit does to me" "I seem to vaguely recall" "As much as I'd love to show you, we'd never get back inside" Looping his arm through Eren, he smiled a dopey smile. Clueless to the way his silver eyes sparkled with affection for his omega "Shall we?" "We shall. It's actually impossible to get lost in this place. The dance studio was just too small for everything" "Have you been busy?" "A little. I had to help sew up last minute costume tears, but no. No heavy lifting" "And you're ready?" "Yep. Sasha is the one having the meltdown. She wanted to change costumes again" "Again?" "This is costume number 6. She was going to go with pink to begin with" "I think you could have pulled it off" "Noooo. I'm just lucky I'm not in a dress. Honestly" Escorted by Eren, the whole inside of the function centre had been transformed... not that he knew what it usually looked like. Decked in Christmas colours, it bordered on tacky, but was saved by the fact it was December "Ignore the decor. Dance mums are fucking scary. They all thought they knew best and this is what happened. It's what I imaging reindeer vomit to be" "I don't know. There's a few things in here that look amazing... especially you" "You're killing me here..." "Not my intention I promise" It was nice to see all eyes on Eren, his fiancée walking through the tables with a sense of confidence that nearly had Levi tripping over his own feet. It stroked his and his alpha's egos to know he was the one going home with Eren at the end of the night. As they walked, a few people waving to Eren as they walked, Eren politely waving back "You haven't missed much. Just the boring speech part and the smaller children" "I'm sorry for being late" "I'm really not mad. Now, all the drinks are ID only. Hanji ordered you a drink already. She's going to take Viren tonight because I've been busy all day. And I'll probably need help stretching tonight" "I can stretch you" "Mmm, as much as I like the sound of that, I don't want to wake up with leg cramps tomorrow" "Then I'll have to stretch you thoroughly" "You need to stop talking, or we're going to be in some real trouble" Levi thought his mate was being flirtatious, until he noticed some very disapproving mum's glaring. Reaching their table, Eren pulled his chair out for him "Hanji, remember. Keep an eye on him for me" "Eren, we have tequila. What's going to go wrong" Eren put his hands on his hips, scolding her "You're only allowed one" "Two, I've arranged for Eld to take us home. I just have to call" "I have to go now. Here, take care of my phone. I don't really want to leave it in my bag" Passing it over, Eren kissed him softly. Ruffling Viren's hair as he stood "I'll see you later. And you, be good for daddy and Hanji" "Good luck" "Break a leg" "Don't tell him that. He's got enough pins in his ankle" "You two behave" "We will!" Almost as soon as Eren had Disappeared off to the side and out of view from the tables, the concert? soon started. Levi didn't know he needed a hip-hop dancing Jesus in his life until it happened. Nor did he know that the star of Bethlehem knew ballet, but his favourite was the tap dancing sheep. This shit was great. People didn't appreciate his laughter, Viren staring at him like he'd lost his marbles. Mary went to kiss Joseph, Joseph burst into tears and ran off the stage. The little girl dropped the baby Jesus doll, the head coming off and she kicked it off to the side, acting like nothing happened. The whole nativity scene acted out by dance and it was gold. The next set was more of the same, though it was older kids. If had to guess, he'd say from 10 years, or so, to 16. Santa doing some Latin dance with rudolf, and instead of dancing the Christmas tree sang. The chimney had a wardrobe malfunction, or the kid just didn't give two shits. They couldn't move properly, falling on their back and doing the best interpretive dance of a stuck turtle he'd even seen. While everyone whispered around them, he and Hanji were struggling not to laugh. Anna wanted to help them, trying to escape Hanji's lap. After the Santa set came to an end, the stage area was cleared. He and Hanji both needed the break. Then came the teenagers dance performances, which sadly went off without a hitch. After that was a small break before the ballroom dancing started. It was now most of the small children left with their parents. Returning with another drink, Hanji was grinning ear to ear as she returned. Anna had needed the bathroom, the little girl in love with everything going on around her "Enjoying yourself?" "That was great" "Good. I'm going to enrol Anna, what about Viren?" "I think he might be a bit too small right now" "You just don't want him stuck in a chimney" They really shouldn't be laughing... "He's enough of a handful as it is" "I wonder if they managed to get them out of there" "I have no idea" "I wonder if Eren got to watch?" "I hope he did. I didn't realise it would be so... Christmassy" "Neither did I. I wish we'd brought the others now" "I don't. Erwin's in a sulk" "Yeah. I have no idea why. I asked if he could pick me up tonight, and he lost it at me" "I needed this more than I thought" "Well hold onto that feeling, Eren will be up soon. If it's like the first two bits, they'll work their way from youngest to oldest" "Is it horrible to hope for another stuff up?" Hanji ducked her head, checking to make sure no one was listening "Nope. I am too. I hope they have DVD's of this. Or one of those crazy dance mums has been filming" "We'll have to ask Eren" "Yeah" The younger kids were kind of adorable as they danced the best they could. The girls were wearing way too much make up, looking more like mutant, oversized dolls than people, while the boys were dressed as gentlemen. One kid had the cockiest grin on his face, onto to end up with foot stomped on by his partner at the end, when nudged her out the way for more attention. "Hi, Guys! Fancy seeing you here" "Connie! Lovely to see you again! Here, come sit with us" Unlike Levi, Connie was wearing a causal shirt and jeans. The alpha all smiles as he sat down next to Hanji "What'd I miss?" "The funniest shi-shoe. You're not going to get into trouble are you?" "What? No. Sasha told me not to bother coming until late" "Seriously? You missed the best bits" "As long as I see her dance, that's the main thing" "Well, we seem to be in the teenagers now. It shouldn't be too much longer" Hanji was wrong. It seemed to take forever. There was a short break after the young dancers, until the M.C finally returned to the announce the senior dancers performing the Viennese Waltz to Alice's Waltz. Levi sitting forward in his chair, as Eren swept in with Sasha on his arm. His omega looked so cool and composed, that Levi ended up half squishing Viren as he completely forgot his son in his lap "Uncle Eren!" "Shhh, Anna. Uncle Eren knows you're here" "Mummy" "Shhh, baby. Let's just watch mummy" "Go Sasha!" Sasha shot Connie a glare as she and Eren took their places. Eren was breathtaking. Out of all the dancers, his omega... he seriously took his breath away. He expected Alice's Waltz to take longer than a minute or so that it did. Eren and Sasha looked like naturals as Sasha draped herself in Eren's arms. Eren spinning her around as if it was nothing, and as if he wasn't 4 months pregnant. Clapping politely, Hanji leaned across the table to smack his arm "You need to breathe" "Whoo! Sasha!" Connie was on his feet, not caring he was making a scene. Standing Sasha back up, Eren bowed as Sasha curtsied. Her dress looked stunning, but no where as nice as his fiancée "I am. I just... I didn't expect it to be that nice" "Of course you didn't. You don't exactly scream the type to dance" Walking off to the side of the dance floor, Viren wanted his mum. Their son trying to escape him to go running after Eren. One by one, each couple was called forward, their names, dance style and song announced, before an arrangement of 3ish minutes. Levi impressed by each style of dance, as he'd expected each couple to waltz or something to that effect. Anna was really into, clapping her hands slightly out of time with the music, as Connie encouraged her. Given how quiet everyone else was, it was a miracle they weren't told to shut up. Eren and Sasha were the last couple. Eren holding Sasha's hand as if Sasha was a princess. Both of them smiling as they took their places a few metres apart "Dancing the Foxtrot to Christina Aguilera's Say Something. It's our final couple. Mr Eren Yeager and his partner Mrs Sasha Springer" Connie kept his mouth shut this time. Perhaps knowing better than to upset Sasha when she was in character. Eren looked slightly more nervous, but relaxed as the music started. Acting flirty, then shocked and betrayed, Sasha danced around Eren, before Eren took hold of her hands. It seemed to him that the pair made better use of the space than the other pairs. Not that he was biased. He was in awe of Sasha's fancy footwork, until Eren started. The pair playing arguing and reconciling lovers perfectly. The dance ending wish Sasha "dying" in Eren's arms. There were a few very tiny moments Eren looked as if he was about to panic, but no one but him would have known the way his mate moved. Standing Sasha up, once again, Sasha span away from him, their hands catching at the last moment, Eren bowing and Sasha naturally curtsying again. Jumping to his feet, Connie was clapping as he yelled "That's my wife!" Sasha blew his a kiss, before letting Eren guide her off the dance floor. Only for then all to be called back on, bow and curtsy again. The M.C announcing another short break. Leading her over to them, Eren released Sasha's hand. The woman going to her husband as Eren came to him. Lifting Viren up, he nuzzled into the boy's face, careful not to upset his graze. Eren then staring at him, and Levi no longer remembering the English language "You broke him" "I can see that, Hanji" "Uncle Eren, you looked beautiful. But Sasha was prettier" Sasha giggled "Thank you, Anna" "Levi? You're not going to say anything?" "Wow..." Eren laughed softly. His sweaty omega sitting down in his lap carefully "Thank you" Rubbing Viren's back, their son kept his face hidden against Eren's chest "He's definitely broken" "Shoe up, Hanji" "No. He's coming too..." Struggling like an idiot, he really didn't know what to say. Eren was out of his league. Hanji however, had no problem with her mouth "Sasha, does that mean you're done?" "Yep. That's me for the night" "You were wonderful" "Thanks. Eren is such a great partner. I'm going to miss dancing with him" Readjusting himself to turn to Sasha, his mate rolled his eyes "You make it sound like I'll never dance again" Sasha huffed. Climbing out of Connie's lap to sit beside her husband "It's going to be a long wait to find another suitable partner. Most don't like the foot work of a foxtrot" "Eren's great at throwing himself into complicated things" "Oi. I'm sitting right here" "We know. You're supposed to be going and getting ready" "I know, but it can wait" "I thought you wanted to clean up" "That's why it can wait. Besides, someone is getting sleepy" Sasha yawned, then winked "How did you know?" "You haven't eaten in the last half an hour" "I don't eat that much... but do you guys want food? I've got food" Levi's stomach rumbled slightly, though he knew exactly what he wanted to eat "That would be great. We did eat before, but it's a long night for the kids" "I'll help you" Climbing out his lap, the kiss Eren bestowed upon his lips was hardly kid friendly. Breaking the kiss, Eren had a cheeky smile on his face "Damn, Shitty brat" "I love you my arsehole of an alpha. Viren's just about asleep, and I suppose I really do have to get ready" "Ok. Will you be alright?" "Yep. I've got something special planned, so don't take your eyes off me" "I would never"

Word count: 947
Posted: 7th of November 2017
A/N: I am baaaack! I finally had time to edit my queued imagines and I am trying to post everyday again. Believe it or not, I have like four unedited “Stranger Things” imagines to post. I was too lazy to edit, sorry!
Anyway, I am liking these platonic and siblings imagines. If you want, you can request one! Please NO disgusting ones, SEXUALIZING THE KIDS IS A DISGUSTING THING! Thank you so much!
Thank you for everything guys, I love you all!
- G. x
“(Y/N), dinner is ready!” Your brother, Mike, shouted as he nonchalantly knocked as hard as he could on your room’s wooden door, making your head pound in pain even more.
You did nothing but to rest the whole day, because you weren’t feeling well. In fact, as soon as you arrived home from school, you drifted in a deep but uncomfortable sleep. Your bad migraine, terrible colds and sore throat were obviously caused by the freezing and wintry weather, even though you have always covered yourself with a full winter attire before leaving the house.
“Mike, go away!” You softly answered, hoping that your voice was in its normal state. You didn’t want for your family to know that you were sick, because they would just force you to eat and your mother would give you different types of aspirins and antibiotics to cure the virus that you’ve keeping in your immune system.
“Hey,” He twisted the door knob, nonetheless you didn’t give him your permission to do so. “are you sick?”
“Michael!” You shouted in annoyance, but you immediately hated your decision as your sore throat got worse.
“I am telling, Mum!” He worriedly said. It was dark in the room, but he quickly noticed that you were freezing and shivering under your thick and warm covers. “And I am getting you something to eat.”
“I am not hungry and don’t tell Mum, mouth-breather!” You weakly told him, shutting your eyes as you felt exhausted and knackered.
“Mouth-breather? To me?” He laughed and you just realized that the joke was on you. “Look who’s got a clogged nose and is using their mouth to breathe!”
“Shut up, Mike!” You turned your back away from him and you stayed silent, meaning that the conversation was over. Your brother shook his head and went downstairs to tell your Mum about your condition. He left the door open, so the hallway’s light slightly penetrated your quiet and tranquil room.
You weren’t dying, but Mike seemed to be a little bit too worried for you. You didn’t spend much time together, because you were older than him and you didn’t have the same interests. He would spend his days with his friends, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and you would spend yours with your older sister, Nancy.
You didn’t love Mike any less, even though your habit was to vex and tease each other. You would always insult him and he would just prank you for revenge, but when it came to serious things, you were always there for each other. You both got your back, mostly when you would defend him from the bullies at school. You were the only one who had the permission to bully your brother, in fact you couldn’t stand to see other people making fun of him.
“(Y/N),” Mike’s sweet voice woke you up from your deep thoughts. “I am turning the lights on. Okay?”
“Okay.” You covered your eyes with your blankets to avoid getting a temporary blindness and you felt Mike walking towards you right after. As soon as your eyes felt comfortable with the luminosity of the light, you took the blanket off your face to observe your brother.
“Eat this soup whilst it is still hot,” He carefully put a tray with some food on your bedside table. “Mum is coming with your medicine.”
“I am not hungry, Mike.” You repeated, but in a calm way this time. Your brother rolled his eyes as he had to deal with your hardheadedness.
“You have to eat, (Y/N)! Not that you were beautiful before, but you look so ugly and horrible with those puffy eyes and uncombed hair, you even beat Rudolf’s nose, yours is just so red!” He concernedly suggested you whilst he insulted you at the same time. “Don’t be harsh on yourself, you’re starting to look like a zombie.”
“I always feel the love, Mike!” You sarcastically fired back and he just shrugged his shoulders. You slowly sat up, still covering your body with the blanket.
“C’mon, it will make you feel warm.” He sweetly smiled as he encouraged you. You nodded and you slowly grabbed the tray.
“Have you eaten already?” You worriedly asked. He sat on the edge of your comfortable bed to look after you, you then put the tray on your lap and you slowly eat the soup with the spoon, trying to find your hiding appetite.
“No, but I told Mum to leave me something for later.” He politely answered. “Feeling better?”
“A little bit.” You smiled. You appreciated your brother’s actions and you somehow felt happy that he cared about you in that way. “Thank you, Mike.”
“It’s just a small thing, (Y/N).” He nodded and smiled. He wanted to give you one of his powerful hugs, but he was aware that you would just push him away. You would never want to pass your sickness to your siblings, never. You better suffer from it than your family.
“You’re so sweet, Michael.” You softly giggled while he warmed your heart. These moments were rare to happen, but you always treasured them when they did.
“It’s just that you have always taken care of me when it was my turn to be sick,” He blabbered as he fidgeted with his warm and cosy sweater’s hem. “I am just paying you with the same coin.”
Your heart melted, because he was showing you how much he cared for you and how much he loved you, nevertheless you would always fight and insult each other.
You were still siblings after all and siblings would never leave each other’s side, even if it was through ups or downs.

Instincts, Chapter 46
‘He deserves to at least go back to Asgard prison!’ Thor argued with his adopted brother.
‘He deserves to die! He was willing to put us all to our death. He even went behind your back! How can you still justify his actions?’ Loki shouted at him.
‘I do not justify what he did. But he doesn’t deserve to die. He is still our father.’
‘Your father. He is not and never was my father. He is pure evil and deserves to rot in Hel!’ Loki snarled as he punched Thor in the chest in annoyance.
‘Please, Loki. Let some of my guards take him back to Asgard. I give you my word, he will go straight to the prison.’ Thor said in a calmer manner to try and ease the situation.
‘What, so he can get three meals a day, all the comfort he wants because he was a King? I don’t think so. You’re on my realm, Thor. You go by my laws and my rules. He’s a traitor and he will spend the rest of his days in my dungeons. That’s the end of it.’ Loki put his foot down and he wasn’t going to change his mind.
Thor couldn’t argue anymore. He knew that Loki was right. It was his realm, he was King. Whilst Thor was King of Asgard, while he was on Wolfheim, he had no final say in anything. He only hoped that Loki would change his mind in time and allow his father to return home.
Loki stormed into his chambers, making Layla jump as the door slammed shut behind him.
‘Sorry, little one.’ He said softly as he walked over to her.
She jumped up into his arms and they both stood in the middle of their room and hugged in silence for a few minutes, just enjoying one another’s hold and scent.
‘I’m scared.’ She said quietly.
‘It’s going to be ok. We will win this, I promise you… Have you told Eva about what we found out?’
‘Not yet. I was going to wait for you. Is it the right thing to do?’
‘I think so. We need to be honest with her. It’s the best way.’ Loki assured Layla as he kissed the top of her head.
Just on time, Eva came bounding out of the bathroom. She was all wet and she shook right beside her mum and dad, soaking them too.
‘Eva!’ Loki growled playfully as he laughed and reached down to ruffle her head.
‘I told you to roll in the towel first.’ Layla scolded.
Sorry. I heard Daddy’s voice. I wanted to be with you both. Eva said sheepishly.
‘That’s alright. We need to speak to you about something, sweetheart. Let’s go sit down.’ Layla said as she motioned to the fireplace.
The three all sat down on the rug on front of the fire. Eva rested her head on Layla’s knee as Loki explained to Eva about her apparent royal blood.
What does it all mean? Eva asked as she looked back and fore between her parents.
‘We are not entirely sure, love. You are princess, and always will be, of Wolfheim, because you’re ours. But this might mean that you are also a princess, or even a Queen, over the hybrids.’ Loki said as he stroked her head.
So… Couldn’t I just order them all to stop? Eva asked, confused.
‘I don’t know if it works like that. They are trying to get to you, but we are unsure why. Whether it is to harm you or steal you. But we need to keep you safe, just in case.’ Layla said softly.
Eva nodded in understanding.
‘What’s happening with Odin?’ Layla asked Loki as Eva went to go stay with Freya for a little while.
‘He is staying in the dungeons here. He will rot down there, I will make sure of it.’ Loki snarled.
‘I’m guessing Thor didn’t take well to that?’
‘No, he didn’t. But he has no option. I am the ruler of this realm and whatever I say goes. Odin is the one that started all of this. And I am starting to think that he has something more to do with the hybrids than we think. He must have had past involvement with them, to know they exist and to get in contact. It does not make much sense.’ Loki said with a frown.
‘Why don’t you go and ask him? See if he spills anything?’ Layla suggested.
Loki nodded in agreement. So that’s what he did.
He went down to the dungeons and stopped outside of the cell that Odin was trapped in. It had nothing but a bench and a bucket for him to use as a toilet. There was no comforts at all and it was freezing cold and damp down there. Loki and Odin both knew he wouldn’t survive for long down there, but that was what Loki wanted. Odin didn’t deserve to live, but he also didn’t deserve a quick death. So Loki would make sure that it would be dragged out and as painful as possible.
‘How do you know about hybrids?’ Loki snapped.
To his surprise, Odin was honest with him.
‘I had a deal with them many years ago. One came to Asgard not long before you were born. He wanted to make an alliance with me and a deal. That if I wiped out every one of you that I came across, then he would help fight in any future wars. He kept his word and helped fight against the Jotuns in the Great War. He saw I kept my word by using you to kill off your own kind.’ Odin said honestly, without a care in the realm.
‘Why? Why would you do that and why did he want all of us dead?’ Loki hissed.
‘Having those hybrids on my side was a great asset. They are near unstoppable. They didn’t want to live on Asgard, just help when needed. He said that he wanted all the wolves to be wiped out so that it was just them left, to be the new kind of wolves. I believe they can still do it, they are strong. You have no chance of winning this war.’ Odin smirked evilly as he glared at Loki.
Loki’s nostrils flared with anger as he pounded his fist against one of the bars on Odin’s cell.
‘What do they want with Eva?’ Loki snarled.
Odin laughed and shook his head.
‘I do not know or care what they want that mangy mutt for. It is no use to me.’
‘Why? Why are you doing this? Why did you do it, to me? To my family? What did we do that have made you so against my kind? HUH?’ Loki shouted angrily.
‘Do you really want to know the truth?’ Odin asked calmly as he laid his one eye upon Loki.
‘Yes. Tell me!’
‘Your lot killed my parents. It was thousands and thousands of years ago. They went to visit Vanaheim on royal business. Not long on the realm, they were attacked by a pack of wolves. Half wolf, half Vanir. They had went rogue from your precious realm here, they wanted to rule the world themselves. They killed them both in cold blood.’ Odin spat.
Loki felt a slight twinge of guilt inside him, but it didn’t last long at all.
‘You will hold an entire race against just a few idiotic choices? What happened to that pack? They surely received punishment.’
‘They did… They were hung by their own King and Queen…’ Odin said reluctantly.
‘Exactly. We are not all tarred with the same brush. You really want to kill out an entire race because of a few bad ones? Did the hybrid wolves fail to tell you that their main aim in life is to rule the world? They tried to get the King and Queen, years ago, to fight against all other realms. To take over. The King and Queen banished all hybrids, appalled by their behaviour. But I’m starting to think we should have teamed up with them and did so. At least that means you wouldn’t have had the chance to harm any of us.’ Loki snarled.
Odin looked slightly shocked, he hadn’t known that the hybrids only goal in life was to rule the world... They had lied to him.
‘They told me they just wanted to extinct your kind.’ Odin said sheepishly.
‘You are more of a fool than I thought you were.’ Loki snapped and shook his head as he stormed away, he had had enough of speaking to his ex, adopted father.
Loki filled everyone in about what he had discovered. It was clear the hybrids still wanted to take over every realm they could. But there was still uncertainty as to what they wanted with Eva.
The family had just been sitting in the main quarters, when suddenly the sirens went off around the city.
They were under attack.
The war had started.
Hybrids were descending upon the city and the palace. Soldiers and guards were attacking in wolf form and in their natural form with spears and knives.
Some of the people of the realm were helping in their wolf form too, attacking as much as they could. The women and children all fled to the safety of the countryside, where there were safety shelters set up with many guards and soldiers.
Loki made sure that Layla, Eva, Freya, Joan and Safir were locked deep inside of the palace for safety. No matter how much they all complained that they could help and wanted to help. But the Alpha’s wouldn’t allow it.
Loki, Rudolf, Rafal, Armund and Dennis charged into action and started fighting the hybrids that had managed to get into the palace. The entire battle soon turned into a bloodshed. But Thor wasn’t far away and he used Mjolnir to kill a few of them at a time.
For once, Loki was happy to be fighting beside his adopted brother again. They had each other’s backs as they looked out for one another and helped. It wasn’t long before they managed to clear the palace from the hybrids.
So the group rushed outside, but as they reached the gates and looked down over the city, it was like a sea of bodies. A mixture of hybrids bodies and their own kind, as well as some Asgardians that had come with Thor to fight.
Loki felt like he had been punched in the stomach as he felt guilty and bad for all of his army. But he didn’t have time to waste as another wave of hybrids were coming down the hills towards the city.
But then a piercing loud howl from deep within the palace could be heard all around the city.
LAYLA! Loki shouted as he turned on his heels and darted back inside, with the others quickly following.
When Loki, Rudolf, Rafal, Armund, Dennis and Thor arrived at the safe room, they were shocked to see around 8 hybrids inside it, snarling at the omegas and Eva.
But Layla and the others were standing their ground, their hackles were up and they were snarling back at them with Eva behind them for protection. Loki and the others moved in to stand on front of their women and face off against the hybrids.
Hand over the cub. One of the hybrids snarled, he looked like he was the leader, covered in scars and the largest.
Never. You will have to get through us first. Layla growled angrily as she was poised, ready to attack.
What do you want with her? Loki snapped as he moved to stand slightly on front of Layla, to protect her.
She is my daughter. The hybrid snarled.

There is no grave marking where Rainer Hoess' grandfather lies. But if there were, Mr Hoess knows what he would do.
"I would spit on it," he said. "I can't forgive the burden he brought into our lives. We had to carry a very heavy cross."
Mr Hoess's grandfather was Rudolf Hoess – the Nazi commandant of Auschwitz concentration camp, and the man who oversaw the murder of an estimated 1.5 million people.
And November 20 marks the day, 69 years ago, that the trial of his grandfather began in Nuremburg – perhaps the biggest series of trials of the past century.
Mr Hoess, 49, is the only member of his family to publicly denounce his grandfather, who was hanged at the end of the trial, in 1945.

And he told The Telegraph, speaking by phone from his home in Germany how, as a child, he had no idea of the history of the man who died 20 years before he was born.
"There was a dictatorship in the house, and we weren't allowed to disagree," he said. "I had to admire my grandfather like a hero."
Hoess joined the Nazi party in 1922 and 12 years later became part of the SS. His extensive experience at Dachau and Sachsenhausen as well as his long-time friendship with SS commander Heinrich Himmler led to his appointment as commandant at Auschwitz in 1940.
He was the designer and administrator of the gas chambers and the one that introduced the Zyklon B gas that was used to execute children, the elderly and everyone else that was unfit to work.
It was not until Mr Hoess was 12, while at boarding school, that he learnt the true story of his dark family secret.
Security guards caught him and his friends stealing from the kitchen, and so the head master of the school punished them by forcing them work in the garden. However, the gardener was an Auschwitz survivor, and the young boy's name immediately caught his attention. So he kept him working for three months – with the pretext that he wasn't working hard enough – and enjoyed slapping and kicking around the unruly pupil. The boy couldn't understand why.
It was only when a teacher told him that his grandfather was responsible for all the agony the gardener had witnessed at the extermination camp, that he understood.
But still his father, Hans-Jurgen – Rudolf's son – dismissed those claims.
"My father would punish my mum and me. My mother tried to kill herself ten times and she once tried to hang herself from the balcony. I tried to kill myself twice and suffered from three heart attacks and a stroke in the 1990s."
Three years later the young Mr Hoess spent the holidays with his grandfather's driver, who told him of the luxurious life enjoyed by Rudolf Hoess in the villa he lived in near the camp.
"Life at the villa was beautiful – but prisoners would be punished there," he said.
"One of them got lost in the garden and was taken back to Auschwitz to be hanged. He was only spared at the last minute because my grandmother needed him to work."
In the villa many Jehovah's Witnesses were forced to work indoors. Communists, political opponents and gipsies were made to work outdoors. No Jews were allowed in the premises.
Hoess's driver added that the Auschwitz commander always ordered a prisoner to sing for him before he went to bed.
"He was a cold-hearted soldier who got 20,000 people killed by dinnertime – with the excuse that he just did his job," said Mr Hoess. "Yet he would later turn to a loving father who would tuck his kids in bed."
Eventually, Mr Hoess left home at the age of 16, trained as a chef, and broke all contact with the rest of his family by 1985. He said that they now call him a traitor.
He had the chance to visit Auschwitz for the first time one cold morning in 2009 with his mother, an Israeli journalist and writer Thomas Harding.
"I couldn't sleep the night before I went, and was walking around my room instead," he said. "At first I was looking for reasons not to go – but I had to check with my own eyes and needed to feel Auschwitz.
"It was hard.
"There was silence inside the car when we arrived. It was scary. I couldn't believe how big it was. I couldn't touch the bricks or anything else."
Mr Hoess's grandfather tried to escape with his family to South America after the war, but was captured by the British, confessed to his crimes in Nuremberg, and was hanged next to the camp's crematoria.
The site of his execution is still there – and Mr Hoess considers it the best part of the tour.
"He couldn't harm or punish people again. I wondered how he felt before being executed. How did he feel while looking at the villa, crematoria and camp?"
Mr Hoess was given a Star of David as a present by a Jewish lady, which he promised to wear at all times. "It offers me joy and help," he said. He was also recently informally adopted as the "grandson" of Eva Mozes Kor - an Auschwitz survivor, who was used in Mengele’s infamous experiments.
He currently lives in south west Germany and speaks at around 70 schools a year where he tells children about his grandfather as well as extremist parties.
"I never miss a chance to take on the far Right, " he said. "I have no fear in facing them."
Mr Hoess said that the "ideology virus" is alive and well in Europe today, and warned that "all far Right parties are exactly the same as the Nazis."
He believes that if his grandfather was alive today, he would definitely join those political bodies.
"Their ideology is the same and they never switched rules. They use horrible phrases to influence young people and say that minorities steal jobs and space. Just like the Nazis did with Jews."
He added that the only difference now is that the far Right parties have learned from the Nazis' mistakes.
"They find effective and silent ways to spread their hate to others. But now they are not just talking about Jews, now the target is much bigger," he said.
"The movements are much better organised than Hitler's Germany. I think the rest of the countries have learned nothing from the past."

Instincts, Chapter 48
Word about the leader of the hybrids death had quickly passed through all the hybrids. They all abandoned their plan and ran away from the city. Loki had guards follow them and make sure they left the realm, but ordered them to catch any they could and throw them in jail to rot with Odin.
They had lost so many soldiers and wolves that day because of the fight. They wasted no time on organising a proper funeral for them all that evening…
They all gathered by the large lake that led out over the edge of the realm, just as Asgard had and all the other realms. Everyone in the city had lights in their hands and were devastated as the boats were readied with the fallen wolves.
Layla put her arm around Joan as the first boat was sent out. Loki let go of his light and watched as it flew up into the night’s sky, followed by hundreds of others, as he made a speech.
‘Dennis was… He was very brave. Putting himself first for his people, his friends and his family. Many times he risked his life for us, for everyone. We have lost an incredible wolf... Someone we will always be grateful to, someone we will never, ever forget.’ Loki said as he tried to hold in his own tears as he looked at Joan, who was beside herself with heart break.
‘We have lost so many today. Strong, and fearless wolves. All who will never be forgotten.’ Loki finished with as he nodded.
The rest of the boats were released after Dennis’. The entire realm had gathered and watched as all of the fallen wolves floated out across the peaceful water.
Loki nodded at the archers, who aimed into the sky and fired their lighted arrows high. Rudolf was one of them, doing Dennis’ boat, which he was honoured to do for such a friend and family member.
Then everyone apart from Loki, Layla, Joan, Rafal, Rudolf, Freya, Safir and Armund, tilted their heads back and howled loudly at the moon as all of the boats lit up. Even little Eva howled along too, feeling just as sad as the rest of them on losing her Uncle Dennis. Loki reached down and gently patted the top of her head once she was finished howling.
As they reached the edge of the realm, the boats fell down beneath them off the edge. But the spirits of the warriors all floated upwards to Valhalla. Where they were all going to be greeted with open arms for their bravery and strength.
Layla hugged into Loki and sobbed against his chest. He buried his face into her hair and let his tears fall freely against her.
Rafal comforted Joan and held her as she cried. The family were devastated and heartbroken. But they knew it was only a fraction of what Joan would be feeling after losing her mate. Loki couldn’t even bare to think about it.
The following day, things were calm. But it was eerie as everyone worked to get the palace and the city back to normal, while still mourning for the loss of the wolves that they lost.
But for the first time in his life, Loki felt at peace. There was no more worry or dread in the pit of his stomach. Things were peaceful, and they could finally get on with their lives now on the new realm.
Though he still felt a great sadness for Joan. She was beside herself with grief. The family did everything they possibly could to console her. But understandably, nothing was enough to calm her.
Eva had naturally been a little shaken about what had happened with her biological father.
I don’t understand why he did what he did to my family. She said sadly, and nearly broke Layla and Loki’s hearts.
‘We don’t either, sweetheart. He was driven to insanity and wanting to rule the world. It turned out he would do anything in his power to make that happen. But we do not have to worry about him again.’ Loki assured her.
‘Your mother was very brave, Eva. She carried you to safety even though she must have been in such agony. She was also very brave to approach us, alerting us that you were there and needed caring for.’ Layla said softly as she stroked Eva’s fur.
I’m glad she found the two of you. You’re the best parents ever. I… I do love and miss my mum. But I’m lucky to have two mums and a dad. Eva said as she licked both Layla and Loki’s faces, making their heart melt.
‘We could plant some flowers in the garden, as a memorial for her if you wish to.’ Loki suggested.
Yes please! Eva nodded enthusiastically.
A few days after the death of Dennis, Joan went to Loki and Layla’s quarters to speak to them both.
‘I have decided that it would be best for me to leave Wolfheim.’ She said quietly.
Layla felt her stomach drop.
‘What? No. Please don’t.’ Layla was cut off by Loki looking at her and shaking his head.
He reached out and gave Layla’s thigh a reassuring squeeze.
‘Where would you go?’ Loki asked Joan softly.
‘Back to Midgard. I feel it’s best to go back home, see my family. Maybe travel around Midgard, like Dennis always wanted us to do. I feel like being here just now is just, a bit too much.’ Joan said with a sigh as she tried to back her tears.
‘I’m really going to miss you.’ Layla said as her own eyes started to water.
‘I’ll really miss you too.’ Joan said as the two hugged.
‘I will come back, I promise. I’m just not sure when. But if you’re ever on Midgard, let me know.’ Joan said as she hugged Layla tightly.
‘Can we visit?’ Layla asked, hopeful as she looked to Loki.
‘Of course we will. You’re family, we will most definitely come and see you. And you know your chambers are always here for you if you choose to come back, even if it’s in a thousand years.’ Loki said as he reached over and gave Joan’s shoulder a squeeze.
Layla was really upset after saying goodbye to Joan. Loki held her tightly as she sat on his lap. Eva was cuddled up with them as well, as she was upset too having to say goodbye to Auntie Joan.
Loki was upset as well, naturally. But he knew it was best for Joan and something that she needed to do to come to terms with losing Dennis.
‘She is going to travel around Midgard, like Dennis had always wanted to do with her. She is only going to find herself again and take the time to grieve. It will all be too painful for her staying here while the wounds are still so fresh.’ Loki said softly as he kissed both Layla and Eva on the top of their heads.

Instincts, Chapter 41
2 Weeks Later
Loki and Layla were relaxing around in their chambers one morning. Loki was reading a book and Layla was drawing.
Loki looked over at her and smiled as she had her tongue sticking out at the side of her mouth as she concentrated. He loved how adorable she was.
It was their first day of doing nothing together in a while. They, mainly Loki, had been busy with King duties. Getting new laws in place, changing some things in the way the realm was going to be run. Writing out letters for Armund to take to the other realms as a peace offering to the King and Queens of those realms.
So not having any royal duties to do that day, was a nice change for Loki as he was able to spend time with his little omega. They had planned to go for a picnic later on for lunch, near the waterfall. It had quickly become their favorite place to go to.
They were going to take Eva as well. She was growing up fast. She was nearly at her full height and weight now, but still very puppy like. They both loved and adored her dearly.
Loki was reading again, but he looked up as he thought he heard Layla say something. He looked over but she was still concentrating on her drawing.
‘Did you say something, love?’ He asked her.
Layla looked up and over to him, confused.
‘What? I didn’t say anything.’ She said as she put her pencil down.
‘I could’ve sworn you said something.’ Loki said as he shook his head.
‘You must be going crazy. Too much reading.’ Layla teased.
‘Do not even go there, little one.’ Loki growled, making Layla giggle.
There was silence for a few moments as they went back to what they were doing. But then Layla looked up as she thought she heard him say something, but Loki looked up at the exact same time. So they just looked at one another, entirely confused.
Come back here. I’ll get you this time. They both heard.
At the same time, they both looked over towards where the voice was coming from. To their utter shock, it was Eva as she was playing with the spoon near the fireplace.
Layla looked at Loki, eyes wide. Loki was just as shocked.
‘Eva?’ Layla called to the young wolf.
Eva stopped playing and her head shot up as she looked over at Layla and bounded over to her.
What is it, mum?
Layla looked down at Layla, her mouth still open in shock. Eva looked up at Layla and tilted her head to the side, concerned.
‘You can talk?’ Loki said as he rushed over to them both.
I… Wait what? You can understand me now? Eva asked, shocked as well.
‘What’s going on?’ Layla gasped out as she pulled Eva onto her lap.
I didn’t think you would ever be able to understand me. Eva said quietly.
‘How is this possible? How long have you been able to understand us?’ Layla asked Eva.
Well, I just started learning words. I don’t know why it’s just suddenly happened that you can understand me. Eva seemed just as confused as Layla and Loki were.
‘Do you remember anything about your parents?’ Loki asked.
No. I just know that you both are my parents now and brought me up. Eva said innocently.
Layla and Loki both felt their hearts melt.
Maybe because we are slightly different breeds, is why it’s taken so long for the communication barrier to be knocked down. I mean, those hybrids on Jotunheim understood me. Eva said.
‘What do you mean the hybrids? What did you do?’ Loki asked, surprised and confused.
When we were in Jotunheim. I went away from the group a little to distract the hybrids. I knew they were about to trap mum. Eva said as she looked at Layla.
Layla felt her heart swell, and a big smile spread across Loki’s face.
‘That was you that saved me? You caused a distraction?’ Layla smiled down at the young wolf.
Yep. Eva said as she looked up at Layla.
‘This is… Amazing.’ Loki said in awe.
For the following few hours, they spoke about Eva and how she was a hybrid. Loki wasn’t entirely sure what to do, whether to tell anyone else or not. He knew it was risky, they all did, as the hybrids were essentially enemies of them all.
They didn’t know how the people of Wolfheim would take to learning there was a hybrid living in the castle.
Loki had asked Eva to keep quiet when around others, to be on the safe side. But they were going to tell Rudolf and the family, to see what they thought about the situation. Not that anything would ever change Loki and Layla’s love for Eva. She was like their own child and she would be going nowhere, no matter what happened.
So Loki, Layla, Eva, Rudolf, Freya, Rafal, Safir, Armund, Dennis and Joan all went together for a picnic. They went into the hills and found a perfect spot where it was a sun trap.
After explaining to the others about Eva’s true heritage, and getting over the initial shock, they all had a wonderful day.
Eva played in the river with Layla, Safir and Joan as the others stayed by the fire they had built.
‘Do you think it was her mother or father that was a hybrid?’ Rafal asked Loki.
‘I’m not sure. But I think perhaps her father. Her mother was the one who found us for her, I’m sure she was full wolf. As she didn’t communicate with us.’ Loki said, deep in thought.
‘What will we tell the people?’ Freya asked as she looked over at the others playing in the water and laughing.
‘I want to tell them the truth, but if word gets out that she is a hybrid… It might attract the other hybrids. We don’t even know if they are still planning to attack us or not. But they must have something in place. However, finding out that we have a hybrid ourselves might not go down so well with them.’ Loki sighed.
‘We will protect her with our lives, Loki. If war was to break out. She is one of us, one of the family. And the hybrids will have to get through us before they get to her.’ Rudolf growled.
‘Thank you, my friend.’ Loki smiled and felt warmed by Rudolf’s words.
‘She calls Layla mum and me dad, it is so heartwarming. We love her to bits and don’t want anything bad to happen to her.’ Loki said as he looked over at Layla, but he frowned as he noticed that she had frozen, her ears pricked up as she had clearly heard something. Loki looked in the direction where her ears had pricked up and he let out a snarl as he turned into his wolf form and rushed over towards the bushes.
Layla grabbed Eva in her mouth and carried her back to the group, where they turned into their wolf form and made a wall around Eva as Loki jumped into the bushes, growling.
Nothing happened for a moment, then Loki came out from the bushes looking very worried.
It was a hybrid, wasn’t it? Layla asked, worried.
Yes. I can smell it’s been there, but it ran off. We were upwind from him, which is why we didn’t pick up his scent. Loki snarled angrily.
I fear he may have heard us speaking about Eva.
