i am glad someone asked ! i have a lot of thoughts and im probably going to forget to include a lot of them in this answer but ill try to go over the main things

while they are both kind of the lone wolf type, it mostly started from me thinking they would work well together (like if they were in a fight and on the same team). both of them have a preference for logic. sinon’s fighting style is more low-key with her sniping from far away while mikoto is all up & close & flashy being a level 5 esper.

from the backlines, i can imagine sinon watching through the scope and admiring mikoto … a lot. i saw someone describe sinon as “coping with her PTSD by trying to be a badass action hero” and … yeah. that’s what she tries to do in GGO. sinon is her cool level-headed persona that’s doing crazy combat stunts she wishes she could be in real life. and then there’s mikoto, who is literally just that. shooting electricity and exploding crap and doing backflips in real life on the daily.

like sure she’s an esper, but she’s also two years younger than sinon. also a huge dork. i think sinon would respect mikoto at first, but as they get closer and mikoto’s childish side is revealed, she becomes more interested in mikoto. because not only is she a powerhouse, but she is very human. literally just a teenage girl like her, who she can just chill and go to the arcade with. also silly. and cute.

mikoto’s side might require more mental gymnastics but whatev. iirc one of the things she admires most about touma is how he’s miraculously able to deal with conflicts. he’s always able to do the right thing. mikoto tries to do that, but at the end of the dream ranker arc she’s left questioning if she did the right thing with doppelgänger dead. she thinks if touma was there he’d have handled it better. that’s why she doesn’t call herself a hero despite her actions generally being heroic.

i would argue sinon can have that trait that mikoto admires in touma as well. i dont know as much about sao as i do railgun, but from what ive seen sinon is very forgiving (seriously i am amazed she was okay being friends with kyouji after allat wtf). she’d rather resolve things in a way so everyone is happy. i can’t say if she’d have the same ability to mitigate conflict as touma, but she’s a highly stubborn person herself so i can see her finding a way. at the very least, her ideals and determination would not go unnoticed by mikoto.

so in this way i imagine they both silently admire or almost envy the other… even if sinon is all the way across the battlefield and out of sight, they’re still going to think about each other.

ofc they’re both stubborn af and would never admit to it. heck mikoto probably doesn’t even know she could be gay. as they get closer as friends, sinon might reveal a little of her teasing side. and destroy mikoto at any video game, which would greatly annoy mikoto. she’d want to keep going until she wins against sinon once but that’d never happen. but sinon would silently notice that mikoto is a pretty fast learner.

back to their relationship progression uhh mikoto would make the first move cause she’s the more assertive one… yes it would make sinon think mikoto is weird and stupid. no hints are taken because mikoto prolly has a dumb way to flirt.

Where fandom decides to take a good character who committed a few mistakes in the past, exaggerating that characters’s small negative flaws or mistakes to massive proportions. Or even assigning evil acts to the character that the character never committed. This way people can have convenient antagonist who hurt the “Woobie” in the past or continues to do so, thus making the “Woobie” the victim in the scenario.

These are all symptoms of people wanting to make more “Whump” fanfic. Whump fanfic is fanfic where a character undergoes various different forms physical and mental suffering. These insubstantial takes on the characters in order to create “Whump” completely ignore other avenues rife with potential “Whump”, ones that are even supported by the source material.

Such as Kim Suho constant struggles with the fact that even though he now has the life he always wanted, being free from debt, in a safe financial positions, and being surrounded by a loving family, he has to contend with the fact they aren’t’t his. He has to handle the guilt he feels when interacting with Arcos and Marbella due to the belief that they don’t know that he not there son. That he effectively stolen another person’s life, though through no fault of his own, and has now undeservedly gained that person’s parents.

Then there is Julian, who suffered plenty of abuse from his brother over the years growing up, both vocal and physical. As evidenced by the scar on his forehead that was caused by glass from a beer bottle his brother threw at him. There is also the physical and vocal abuse he suffered from other nobles at the academy before Kim Suho showed up and set everyone straight. Yet not nearly as many people seem to be interested in delving to how being on the receiving end of that kind of abuse for years would affect him

In short,

Actual Story: “We have Whump at home”

and yeah, you're right, i just,,, i find it confusing. ofc everyone is allowed to do whatever they want, canon is a suggestion and all of that but like,, i don't know. i find it weird.

it almost feels like they're trying to justify og lloyd's abuse of julian by accusing arcos of bad parenting. but 1) they do it by exaggerating some genuine mistakes he made, 2) ignoring the context surrounding the situation and 3) just fucking lying about it????

not to mention, that even if arcos had been a genuinely bad father (which he was not), that would still not justify what og lloyd did to julian! negligence doesn't justify abuse! even if the fronteras hadn't given lloyd enough positive attention (which there isn't any evidence to assume this), that would still not justify og lloyd lashing out and constantly hurting the people around him, including his younger brother.

if people want whump, just like you said, there's plenty in canon already. lloyd, julian, and javier all have their own trauma to work through, some of it caused by og lloyd himself. heck if you want that very specific 'negligent and distant father' flavor of whump, sheherazade is right there. bk moon does a great job at giving us plenty of character with a lot of baggage and trauma, there's enough to pick and choose without needing to resort to headcanons that go directly against canon lmao

but again, i'm not fond of the whole 'you're only allowed to like a character while acknowledging every bad thing they've ever done' thing, because it's bullshit and also i love me some war criminals here and there, so do whatever you want forever i'm no one to say you can't do something lol

After about twenty minutes of what is basically your attempt at water-based exercise just for the heck of it you start feeling even warmer than when you'd first gotten in so you decide to actually submerge yourself up to your neck and explore the deep end; swimming back and forth between there and the shallow end. Every so often you sing softly along with the music but not loud enough for anyone to really hear.

Off the shallow-end on the deck Jo is getting in some sun on one of the lounge chairs. She's wearing brown-tinted sunglasses that, thanks to how dark they are, anyone could easily assume she was asleep but knowing Jo she's keenly aware of what everyone's doing. On the lounge chair next to her is Melissa (because I like to imagine they could all be adults and remain friends despite all the events they been through). Melissa, like you, is wearing oversized sunglasses. She has accented her swimsuit with a large sunhat. She has a novel in hand and her work cell on the table between her and Jo's chairs next to the pitcher of iced tea that is dripping with condensation. Melissa's glass is nearly empty where Jo's sits half full next to her almost empty bottle of Twisted Tea.

Over at the gazebo Bill, Joey, and Preacher sit, each with their own bottles of beer in hand. They're having a conversation but between the music and their distance from you, the sounds of the water as you swim through it, and the shouts from the rest of the gang the only bits of their discussions you can hear are their intermittent bursts of laughter. Scattered around the tables under the metal roof were bottles and cans of different beers and sodas belonging to the men otherwise unaccounted for by the pool and in the gazebo.

On the opposite side of the pool, the farther side of the yard, the open grassy area is being utilized by the rest of the group. The volleyball net had been taken down and gently placed along the fence to make room for a game of touch football. Dusty and Beltzer VS Rabbit and Sanders. This group was particularly raucous. Laughter, shouts of playful jabs, whoops of celebration, expletive exclamations of defeat and disagreement over calls. Occasionally one of them would call over to the gazebo group demanding a referee call - often answered by Joey who was paying slightly more attention to the amateur football game than his conversation buddies but occasionally answered by Bill if the debate was getting too heated.

At some point in your playlist the new Luke Combs song, Ain't No Love in Oklahoma, comes on which gets some of the group singing along, none more so than Dusty and Beltzer, however. The sound of them shouting along the words almost drowned out the actual audio from the speakers. It made you, Haynes, and Jo crack subtle little smiles. Jo because she enjoyed seeing her group having a good time, Hayne's because she enjoyed seeing Beltzer have a good time and found his singing enjoyable, and you because you enjoyed seeing Dusty having a good time and always thought it was cute when he would get so into things and just be fully and unapologetically himself; loud, fun, goofy, sweet - all of it.

hmmm depends on why the darling is frightened tbh are they always afraid or is this started after cerelos took them the first time? i do imagine he'd be pretty upset and even offended, though he won't outwardly show his feelings. he'd probably start ordering the servants to disappear whenever the darling is in sight, be invisible, to further isolate them, to force them either to face their loneliness and/or accept cerelos as their emperor and husband. since humans are in nature social, they'd naturally long for some form of company and possibly some skin to skin contact.

in short, since the coecrced sex doesn't seem to do enough, cerelos would've likely infict some psychological damages on his darling to force them to accept him. he wouldn't be…physically abusive, no, but he will emotionally and mentally cripple his darling without relying on cruel words and uses some amount of gaslighting.

Why does ikegen seems like it has few fandoms. I'm only judging since it seems only a few translates it in tmblr. But could it be the reason why it doesn't get an English release.

Who knows why they aren't releasing it in eng. Either they think that the eng fandom doesn't really care because no one from the eng fandom was hyping up the game on its release like we all do now for ikepri and ikevil or maybe it could be this one comment I read:

Saying that we eng players won't understand Japanese mythology is a bullshit excuse because I went into this game 'BLINDLY'. Do you know what blindly means? I didn't watch any trailers or read the basic premise of the game's story. Heck, I didn't even know Yoritomo and Yoshitsune and all the other male leads (except for demons and Sueharu) were real-life people. I didn't know the actual history about them at all. You see, when I first played ikevamp and ikesen, I at least knew that the male leads were based on real people. For example, I knew Nobunaga was a real-life samurai and that's all. I still played the game, ikegen because it looked very pretty. After playing the game for almost 4years, I can say that----Yes! this game does mention real life events such as the Genpei war and stuff. What I can tell you is that, even if you don't have any knowledge about the Japanese history or mythology, you can still enjoy this game as much. What this does is that, this game makes you curious as to what actually happened in real life. So that excuse about players not knowing mythology is not an excuse because if someone as dumb as me can understand, then you intelligent people can understand it too.

I don't know why, but the last comment makes me salty for no reason but it could also be true. Ofc ikepri is ikesen level popular in jp and overseas, but that doesn't mean that ikegen is any less popular. My Twitter is filled with Jp players and they all love to talk about ikegen 24/7. They come up with stupid ideas and theories and it's fun to read. Not to forget, their fanart and fanfic are very juicy most of the time. That's actually incredible when I saw it because I thought the total votes would drop. So there is a fandom in Jp that are ready to whale for ikegen I swear. I don't really know about the eng fandom. They all are interested but they don't want to try it out because its in jp (and I swear half of these are also the ones who play ikevil and ikepri in JP *angry grudge noises*). i hope you don’t mind this, but i wanted to share my thought with you… i don’t think that maybe tumblr is becoming more quiet, more like people don’t have time (or will? or both?) to indulge in complex content. during covid, as bad as it was in general, i had soooo much time to do stuff i love, including binging fics on tumblr. I still love lenghty pieces, but nowadays it’s just easier for me to read 3-5k fics you know? i’m not gonna lie i simply don’t have enough time to read CMI for example and I feel like i’m missing on your writings in general because of that :( what i’m trying to say, if you are unsure wherever to continue writing here, maybe try putting out a couple of shorter fics and see a) how you feel about this, b) how your audience responds?

awhie, you made valid points here. i think that's one of the reasons why i put cmi on hiatus as well – i want to give people the chance to catch up since the chapters ended up being so damn long, and in the meantime, i can focus on (not endlessly long?) oneshots :') if you ever find the time to catch up, i hope you enjoy <3 you're so right, i also feel like people are busy as heck these days (i know that i am, too!!) which ofc leads to less interaction with lengthy stories.

i'm always torn bc i know most readers really enjoy long updates and encourage me to post them, but at the same time, i also want to try to make my upcoming oneshots a bit shorter. like there's entertainer, you're okay, the c&f chapter, heaven to you etc. which i'm hoping to end up a bit shorter. i'm just sooo bad at short stuff, like my 5k ideas always turn into 10k, at least 😭 but should i not be able to do so (bc i do want to put all my ideas into these stories and not cut scenes), i'm also totally fine with readers going through the stories in bits! like, 5k of it per day etc.! let's see what we can do, though :') thank you for sharing your thoughts, they do make a lot of sense :') <3

. juni is a young girl who writes cheesy fanfics on whatever the flipline version of wattpad is, as well as character x reader stories :O she is also quite underweight, but she is working on getting her weight back to normal

. adam is a demon from the underworld. it is always willing to do orders for anyone, even for humans when it's summoned by them. however i wouldn't recommend doing so because it'll never ever leave you alone XP

. aragorn is an elf who... is rather too focused on science-related stuff to care about what's happening in the world. heck, he doesn't even acknowledge his own son's destructive behaviour, letting him do whatever he wants without thinking twice

. dakarai knows jericho (another oc of mine). they are close friends and consider each other cousins

. everest is aragorn's son. he used to be afraid of doing anything bad behind his dad's back, but when he found out his father was too invested in science to care, he started to take advantage of him to do anything he wants and became rebellious

. mortimer is a devil disguised as a human (he doesn't live in the underworld, he has his own clan with his own people), he initially disguised himself as a human to blend in and end them all when the time comes, but had grew a liking to them and defended them from his former devil clan

. blanche is what people call an interesting woman. she is a rich woman who owns several pet snakes, from small snakes to enormous snakes, and she is able to control them, in which people often question how but she refuses to tell XP

. zephyr is a college student who studies robotics, they have successfully crafted a robotic mask that displays cute emoticons and has worn it for so long, people forget what they look like underneath :O

. ariadne is cruella's (you can find her in another post about my oc's-) younger and very enthusiastic sister. she works behind the bar with another oc of mine and loves to make delicious cocktails.

. subin is a young father of four kids at a small village. he has a very sweet demeanour and would take care of anybody. however, he's unaware of the fact he has a terrifying monster form at night, that has nearly killed several visitors
