God, and Nijimura's dad was so right because in 3rd year, Akashi lost his friends and basketball became another chore to him, and that was what led to his downspiral. It truly was his friends and his love for basketball holding him together despite everything else going on in his life. And taking that away was Akashi's last straw.

The Teiko gang needed more parents like Nijimura's dad. They would've benefitted so much from even one adult stepping up and doing their fucking job. 😢

It's also worth it to note that while Nijimura is worried about Akashi, he also has faith in him but not in the way other people do.
