Jews deserve love so I'm gonna side eye this since Zionism wasn't mentioned. The political movement of Zionism is the problem, not Jews or Judaism.
This all being said, it is also important that we all, as those who aren't being starved, murdered or imprisoned in this genocide stay informed and, yes, that does mean being aware and actually seeing what is happening and thinking about why it's happening. I understand being overwhelmed and I understand the emotional toll that takes. However, if we are not actively having our safety and welfare harmed to the same extent as Palestinians are currently with being bombed every single day and not having enough food or medicine to know if they'll see tomorrow, I think being supportive and present is the least we can do. Solidarity to our Jewish brothers and sisters, but we all have to do our part as we show solidarity to our Palestinian brothers and sisters too.
Many suffer due to the decades long siege on Gaza and the West Bank and the consequences of it; antisemetism (specifically the collective blaming of all anti-Zionist Jews for the Zionist colonialist project) and Islamophobia (collectively blaming all Muslims for the suffering of Jews, which is pushed by the anti Muslim and anti Arab propaganda that labels all middle eastern people as "terrorists"). I understand that is exhausting, so yes, if Jews AND Muslims and Arabs need to rest and a reminder they're loved? Yeah. We should say it. We just can't forget that it's not just Jews, but the Palestinians who are bearing the brunt of the far right Israeli government's Zionism and aggression.
Division of the shared struggle of Palestinians and Jews caused by Zionists is reductive. What we need to push for is solidarity for a problem caused by a common enemy; Zionism/ imperialism and western intervention. Which, yeah, is precisely why I want Jews to remember they're loved, but also that staying educated and informed is so so important. Zionism is dependent on propaganda and raising children in western ideals of colonial expansion ("the culture of surrounding nations needs to be fixed and erased for the greater good" or "because those around us are so savage and evidently are so sexist and homophobic and bad we have to fix them" or "Arabs colonised Jews so the Arabs need to die" are often used to try and create a target out of groups that are actually really progressive and/or not at fault for what the Romans did to the ancient Kingdom of Israel, but are labelled as evil by the west due to how they're in the way of resources and advantageous areas). If you've ever heard of the US's "cop cities", I'd compare Israel, a place built on Zionism, as one of those. The way it pushes militarisation is very similar and essentially teaches Jews to fight or die from a threat that is actually not even there until it's made to be there; Palestinian resistance groups that then prove all their worst fears when they resist after previous attacks by the IDF.
October 7th wasn't the first and it won't be the last as long as Israel antagonizes the countries and people around it until an attack happens. Which, again, is exactly why it's so important for Jews to know what sort of system Israel is and that getting far far away from that system is important for Jews and their literal safety. That's what I mean by a shared struggle, because so much of the antisemetism we're seeing? That's not from pro Palestinian protesters or the Palestinians themselves who are scared (rightfully so) of an attack from Jews who could be Zionists, that's from the conflating for Zionism (again, something that's been used to justify terrorist attacks towards surrounding groups of civilians for over 76+ years if we're only asking about Israel and not even the militias before it). And it is that system and that ideology that is to blame for the Palestinians' suffering.
I know I rambled a lot here and, honestly, there's so much to this that it's hard to summarise. But it's important; Jews aren't our enemies and are fellow victims ofa Zionism. Yes, Zionism began as an ideology centring Judaism that was then merged with western ideals of imperialism. No, that doesn't make it antisemetic to criticise as it is still a far right extremist ideology that calls for the establishment of an ethno-state using methods copied from Germany and actively has killed Jews in that westernised political pursuit, even before the establishment of modern Israel.
To every Jewish person:
I hope you are remembering to take care of yourselves.
I hope you are eating well. Staying hydrated. Getting plenty of rest.
I hope you are remembering to take a break from everything. Turn off social media and the news and find some joy.
I hope you remember how strong your people are and how far they have come.
I hope that you remember that you are also strong. Being strong doesn't mean you have to face everything alone.
I hope you look at the sky once a day and find beauty there.
I hope you remember to sing.
I hope you remember how much you are loved. Every single one of us is a gift. We will do what we do best and continue on.
#I'm not sure if I worded this well but it's so so important to remember not to conflate Zionism with Jews#because thats the weapon Israel and Zionists have been using all these years#Jews deserve love but also more in the sense that everyone does equally and that's important#since Isral and Zionsm tends to focus on that point to claim Jews in Israel need more love than Jews outside of it or Arabs or other races#*israel#basically it's important to understand the bs underneath and the context as to why all this is happening#because it isn't the over used story of “well the arabs are all terrorists” because no that isn't true and is western propaganda#the only legitimate dangers other than Israel is probably Iran because of their own imperialist ideologies and right wing gov#not because of being Muslim or Arab#Iraq Syria Egypt etc would have been way more progressive had it not been for the USs interventions and installing right wing govs#Afghanistan too tbh#I forgot to mention it but honestly yeah Afghanistan especially with how the Talaban and Isis were armed by the US#Had El-Sisi not been forcefully installed into power by the US backing him?#we could have had a left leaning democratically elected president in Egypt#so much of what Israel says is wrong with everything isn't true#it's not Arabs but western intervention which is exactly what formed Israel to begin with#Israel is just the latest Isis Talaban or Sisi in that it's only there for western interests until it's not

You are every bit as bad as the Comicsgaters who hate Moon Girl (and the rest of Marvel's stuff) because of """forced diversity.""" If you hate nearly all Jews, hate the symbols and, yes, colors associated with our community for millennia, that is not caused by Israel, it is caused by your moral defectiveness and bigotry.
Well, this is an interesting comment to wake up to.
Tell me something:
How often do you see the Prussian Cross in media?
We're not even jumping into the heavy-hitters right now. We're sticking with the particular variant of the Prussian Cross. Black cross. White outline.
Outside of historical stuff and bikers...how often do you see this?
If the answer is "Barely anywhere at all, especially in Children's Media", you'd be correct. Because after the early 1900s, it kind of took on a MAJOR negative meaning.
Obviously, there's plenty of other cross variations to use, so this wasn't exactly a DEATH KNELL for Christian Imagery. Just because people don't want to be associated with the Kaiser's Germany or their biggest crowd that was super-popular in Europe during the 30s and 40s doesn't mean they can't use a DIFFERENT design of cross. But obviously, using that particular brand became something of a cultural taboo
And, again...this isn't even the heavy-hitters.
But now consider: if a bunch of constituents go to John Fetterman's house to protest his support for Israel's genocide, and his only response is to wave a huge Israeli flag...blue and white with the Star of David...what is the message he's sending there? What is the association going to become?
Now, begin to multiply that. Not by hundreds of times directly, but by little moments. People with the Israeli flag on Twitter, putting up arguments about how all Palestinians are terrorists, and how DARE you not sympathize with Israel after the events of October 7th!
Actually, here, you know what? Let's just DEMONSTRATE.
...oh, I was looking for less-silly examples, but sometimes, you get the PERFECT ONE that is making EXACTLY your point:
Here it is. Right here. I dunno how serious the OP is, but yeah, people are actively turning the Star of David into an "I Stand With Israel" symbol, while Israel is committing ALL OF THE CRIMES, and digging a hole deeper and deeper. The longer this goes, the worse it gets, the more entangled they become...do you see why I'm upset now? Do you understand yet?
Especially because...you know who's really having a great time with this? The antisemites. They get to watch a military force do a genocide against those brown Arabs all the way over in a desert while everyone gets MAD, and all they have to do is keep encouraging the fight! Make that Star of David an EVIL symbol! In a few years, guess what you get to do? You get to start SHAMING people for wearing the Star! Heck, you can do that right now! But you don't have to, because plenty of other people are doing that for you.
So we return to my original point:
The fact that while watching a children's cartoon, for s *split second*, I saw something that I immediately associated as a red flag, because it was on my computer screen. And where do I generally see blue and white stars on my computer screen these days? News stories. Propaganda. The guys in your mentions who jump in to accuse you of antisemitism because you say something like "Genocide is bad".
Let's leave with this:
#I've talked about this before too#one of the important reasons for separatiion of church and state is so that the state can't guilt you into associating them with the church#because a state claiming to represent your religion can violate it at any time#and even if it's NOT happening right now#it could happen in ten years or thirty#people die and get replaced by new people#and sometimes the new people are evil people#again: this was a split second#antisemitism

A brief rant on DC's Infinite Frontier
Ah yes, another day, another DC reboot. DC has officially announced it's upcoming titles for April 2021, which will be the official beginning of Infinite Frontier, aka DC's 3rd major reboot in the last 10 years. And I have Feelings. Here's my personal version of the good, the bad, and the ugly:
The Good
Damian has his own solo book! I'm happy that he's Robin again (even though how he stopped being Robin was ridiculous) and I'm happy it exists (even though how it got here was super messy and made up of dumb ass decisions and a heaping pile of racism). It also looks like they may finally be repairing Talia al Ghul's character after over a decade of slander. That makes me happy; Talia was a major source of positive Arabic representation when she was allowed to be an anti hero.
Keli Quintela finally has a new writer! And will be teaming up with John Stewart! Bendis's characters always fair so much better when someone else is writing them so I hope Keli's character is fleshed out and Bendis steps on a lego!
More Far Sector! Still haven't read it but I've heard it's really good and I'm happy it's still on-going!
Maps Miziguchi is back! And she's Robin (for a short sidestory but still)! It may not be much, but I'm happy to see her!
Tom Taylor is taking over some batbooks! I really like his writing in DCeased so I'm interested to see where he'll take Batman and Nightwing!
Supersons is back! My babies!
Gene Luem Yang's officially joining DC! I loved his work with American Born Chinese and Superman Smashes the Klan (which is a great read for those of you who haven't read it yet) so I'm interested to see what he'll do with Superman/Batman.
The Bad
A crossover???? With RWBY????? I know DC's trying to appeal to younger fans but RWBY???? Well, they can't write it worse than CRWBY already has so....
Still unsure on how I feel about Tim Fox as Batman. I'm aware that it's being written by a Black man but I have my reservations.
Red X is officially a part of the DCU. Not sure how I feel about that. Kinda feels like they're trying to lure in nostalgic 20 somethings.
I'm a bit hesitant on the whole "become the best fighter in the DCU thing" with Damian since a. He's 13 and b. That title goes to Lady Shiva and/or Cassandra Cain. If they aren't present then it's not valid. If this ends with him being "the best fighter in the DCU" when Cass, Lady Shiva, Dinah Lance, and freaking Diana of Themyscira exist, I'm calling bullshit. And misogyny.
Speaking of Cass....
The Ugly
Where is she? Where is Cass and Steph? And Babs? Where's my Batgirl book, DC??????
Putting Kon on the Suicide Squad is a dumb ass decision. He's far too preppy jock for them.
So I guess Jon's still an adult 🙃
Giving Damian a solo book doesn't erase making one of your only positive Arabic characters a fucking terrorist and suicide bomber, DC! This doesn't change the disgusting racism that went into the entire Teen Titans run! Like how the fuck do you have one of the most diverse TT teams and do fuck all with them other than be racist asshats????
They really don't know what to do with the Young Justice US generation, do they? Go the Young Avengers route and let them grow up so that there are new stories with them to tell and they can stop butting heads with newer young heroes.
Of course most of the stuff from Future State isn't making it into Infinite Frontier. Of course.
There's far too much Batman.
Actually, there's also a lot of characters not accounted for. I get that because of the layoffs last year DC's trying to stick with stuff they think will sell but it really sucks that so many characters are getting the short end of the stick. This likely won't get better until DC (and WarnerMedia) are more financially stable. Thanks, capitalism.
Overall I'd say: eh. I see some stuff as interesting, some stuff as meh, and some stuff as a trainwreck waiting to happen. I'll probably read (definitely 100% legally, that's totally not a peg leg you see) some of it (like Damian's solo book, Supersons, and maybe Nightwing) but I'll check my usual DC blogs on Tumblr for tl;drs of the rest. As always with DC, this can get messy really fast but I'll save my final judgment for when it actually comes out.
