i wish i could say that i have a special quirk…but im unfortunately kind of a boring person 😓…

maybe i can interest you with patterns i have while drawing and what i consider when drawing specific characters?

while i draw:

-can i be honest? i have no idea what i’m doing. when i render hair (especially if im faded) its like i blink and then i did all of it. don’t know how i did it, i couldnt give a tutorial if i tried

-i like to add saturated red lines randomly to everything! i know there are rules to this, but when it comes to my art i sort of yolo everything (i really shouldn’t). does it look good or does it look bad when i place it here? thats really the only question i consider, but usually it’s in areas where i notice the coloring is repetitive, and it needs an outline to make it pop.

-twst taught me this first, but i really like adding a light blue to where a dark shadow will be. for example, in hair (for the back of it) i like to add a lighter blue instead of darkening the shadow, imo, it makes it less repetitive and pop out more

-my favorite (well, i hate actually doing them, it takes ages) types of pieces when i finish them, are the ones with multiple poses of a character and then a chibi interaction! like with jade’s halloween outfit, i envisioned floyd helping him get his hair done, waking up at the crack ass of dawn (tired as fuck)

-my artwork is very blue… i just love using blue most of the time. for the saturated color laying overtop an already blue toned black dress? yeah it’s gonna be blue. the back of the hair? light blue. i just feel like it’s the easiest color to use for shading 💀

-i don’t usually draw a white dot to represent light in the eyes. the only reason i specifically talk about this is because i TRY. i always try adding a white dot and no matter what i don’t like it. no clue why

-i rarely post line-art/sketches (in comparison to my fully rendered art), this is because i fix EVERYTHING when i render. the anatomy, the hair, the posing. i can’t see my mistakes until it’s halfway done in full color and almost completed shading 😓

-(random complaint): i’m noticing a problem where the colors seem super saturated in procreate and then it just becomes really dulled down when i post it…idk whats wrong with my eyeballs

character design:

-for leech mom: i really try to balance her sexy, scary side with her cute, bubbly mom side. when i first made her, i never even considered making a leech dad. i just thought, “jade and floyd’s mom would probably be super hot…” and that’s how she was made ^^. pearls are always a must on her, i think in every piece i have of her so far she’s wearing pearls in some way. the idea of her that i always go in with when i draw her is that she’s supposed to come off as someone that would converse very cheerily, have an upbeat attitude, but you there’s something that intimidates you about her… she gives off: will smile kindly while tearing your heart out

-jade and floyd: i like to give jade a darker blue palette than floyd! maybe my eyes decieve me, but i always feel like jade’s hair looks a darker shade of teal… i could be tripping. also, i do try to take into account most times that jade has broader shoulders and floyd is slightly taller! this is just a random tidbit lol, it never affects much really. also, i do make them more muscular whenever i draw them. i know they’re lanky and i love them the way that they are but it’s just a personal preference (along with the fact that they both eat very well and are extremely active? like….) i also prefer drawing their teeth larger

-leech dad: i’m glad i came to the current design of leech dad, but i was freaking looooost when i redesigned him. the first time i made him, i hated it while drawing it. it was more of a, “whatever i drew the mom now i have to draw the dad..”. but now, i can say with 80% confidence i’m happy with the way he is. he was supposed to be more of a navy, but that navy is now mixed with tones of purple, because i can’t move the slider more towards cyan, he’ll just end up looking like leech mom. he had to also be cool toned, his kids have teal hair, so he can’t diverge from that too much right? it’s be weird if he had mostly warm tones in his palette… the things i think about when designing leech dad are: expensive (same with leech mom), old money, hot but slightly psycho looking face, looks like he has a hobby of collecting watches, but surprisingly a guy that’s not extremely moody (cough his wife and son) and well tempered

both him and his wife are giants. i hope that i properly convey that as well 🤣

been struggling to design the voices and feeling a bit miserable over it 😔

i dont have any ideas for broken, cheated, oppy, hunted, and skeptic aside from what type of bird they are (and even then, im starting to think that i should change broken's bird). any ideas i come up with have already been done to death so i shoot them down everytime. nothings wrong with being inspired but smitten's inspiration isnt very obvious so i think the other voices shouldnt be so obvious too. ah but im confident that smitten is my best voice design even if i complete them all so maybe its not fair to make him the standard..

as for broken and hero, they look so off. i drew them once (thrice for broken, actually) and got so frustrated that i abandoned the wip. they just. didnt look like broken and hero. my art satisfies me first and foremost so if it doesnt please me, no one else gets to see it

i do have ideas for para and stubborn. theyre the clearest in my head right now but im scared to tackle them 😭 stubborn's image was even clearer than smitten actually but i chose to work on smitten first because stubborn is a rooster. roosters are colorful. how do i simplify that. and hes Stubborn hes supposed to be buff and big and all that so im out of my comfort zone...

this has just turned into me rambling about the design process huh. let me talk about cold then. he just Happened. well no, i sketched a two whole pages of herons as preparation for his design but they looked so bad. i asked my classmates if they recognized the bird and one of them said flamingo.

anyway his design just Happened when i did that drawing where he and smitten beak kiss. i didnt really think of how to make his design till i was already drawing him. thats why hes just. a heron. with a scarf (havent drawn that yet) and two long ear tuffs. thats it. no other identifying features like smitten. hes rather uninspired so i wanted to improve his design but nothing came into mind (except for the scarf). well, no i did think of a veil or a mask or a hat but his head is ridiculously tiny so thats impractical. besides, i like him as it is and others seem to like him too? so theres that.

im most satisfied with smitten, contra, and the narrator's designs :) smitten is my prized jewel at this point. he underwent almost the same process as cold except i was way more prepared for him. he formed in my head 75% complete lol though you can spot clear differences between my first sketches of him and his most recent design. the beak kiss drawing was also the first time i "realized" his design. he has had super minor revisions since then but his core remains unchanged. im pretty satisfied with him, i dont think he'll change anymore.

contra 🥰 i like him as he is but im adding cheeks (like a cockatiel! i dont have to be that species-accurate) and some curls on his head. i actually wanted to add those details in the one piece i made with him but i couldnt figure it out then... probably bc i made his head too big 💀

the narrator is pretty simple. i married the mirror and corvid narrator hcs for his design bc while i personally subscribe to the mirror!narra hc, i cant just make him a mirror??? so now hes a black cracked glass raven Thing who holds a piece of white paper and feather :) unlike the voices, he doesnt have arms so he uses his wings to write instead. he also doesnt stand upright. hes the most Bird out of everyone to make it clear that he doesnt belong 😍 i drew him once but i hope to make a reference sheet for him soon bc it really should be simple..

side note: colors are important! i try not to apply too much white or black unless it makes sense for the character. ideally, the voices wouldnt have white or black on them but well. its unavoidable. birds often have black or white on them.

the narrator is a black raven and the only things that are white on him are the cracks (death) and his writing implements. hero is purely black and clothing provide the only pops of color on him. smitten and broken regrettably have a lot of white on their belly but im sure i can spin some bullshit explanation like "white around their hearts bc they love the princess (represented by white) ❤️".

lots of white on contra but that makes sense. i also refrained from making him a sulfur-crested cockatoo though bc theyre almost entirely white. no white on cold at all, sadly. white would make so much sense on him bc change is what he seeks (same reason why contra has a lot of white) so maybe i shouldve made him some other white heron instead.. or a crane. but cranes represent life.. ah whatever. i like him as he is right now.

...my takeaway from my rambling is that i should work on para's design. ive got a clear-ish idea for him

As a huge PMD lover, I absolutely adore your Hisui PMD AU. However, my one and only complaint and question is : why are all the characters colors so muted? Like, it fits Ingo, since he's an old ghost type and all, but Akari is so grey and dark. I like the detail with the tips of her ears being blacker to fit with her canon hair color, but the rest of her body is very dark and unlike an Eevee (though if she evolves into an Umbreon then that'd be cool foreshadowing). Even Rei as Pikachu, his yellow fur is much less vibrant.

I'm not saying everyone has to be all vibrant and neon colors with the saturation cranked up to 300% ; Ingo as Typhlosion is a good example of a muted color scheme, and I love it when artists add their own creative flare to OG Pokemon designs (have you seen any of those 'Ability forms' of Pokemon changing slightly depending on their ability? It's really cool). But it's just an interesting color palette I noticed with the majority of your designs that I couldnt help but ask the reason for them.

Ironically, the brightest character here color wise is Silvally Volo. But it makes sense, with his whole "Arceus pls notice me" schtick.

Again, LOVE the PMD AU, and I cant wait to see more!

And to answer this, it really comes down to two things, I think; mainly, it’s just naturally part of my artstyle. I just gravitate towards more muted colors as I like them, they’re easier on the eyes lol. I know it’s probably not easy to tell I like them though, as most of my art is entirely greyscale. And I will color pick from the characters a lot when I usually draw them with color, but for these, I did not.

And second, colors appear differently on my devices, so sometimes they end up with a little different colors than I intend. I notice my colors usually look a little different on mobile and desktop than they do on my drawing tablet. (Also why I’m apt to color pick from refs)

But some of it is just stylistic choices too! I intentionally made Eevee Akari’s fur darker than a regular Eevee’s, so that the blackish ears and paws don’t clash so much with a lighter color. (I did originally try the default eevee colors when making her design, and didn’t like it because of that).

And as for Pikachu Rei, I just made his fur closer to the colors I use usually for their satchels, since that was the most prominent yellow in their survey corps uniforms. ^^

Redesigning - Alice

i have an old pony oc hero character that i intended to write for but since i'm honestly not much of a writer i just never did XD i dont really draw ponies anymore and have kind of lost that skillset to a degree (not that i was ever that good at it XD) but i still really like this character and kinda wanna use her so today i was thinking about her and just thought, "you know what i'm gonna redesign her" she kinda needed an update anyway since i just wasnt that good at drawing especially hair and such before anyway.  with a human design i can also add more details and things. so originally she was named Stella Mare haha good joke because she was a horse at the time XD redrawing her i started out with just thinking about what needed to change. my initial thing was i want her hair to be more fire like. before it was purple and just plain straight with a ponytail style for her hero getup. i think i chose purple because red was already a colour i had a tendency to use a lot for characters so i just wanted to do something different. on the redesign i was looking at hairstyles designed to look kinda like fire and stuff. i ended up deciding on this one style that was almost like a bluish black on the roots fading into a fierce red and orange almost like coal and fire which i felt like would be neat especially since the blue hue on the black roots were very complimentary to the red. since the original does have any clothes on the normal version it's pretty open to anything. i wanted her to be kind of girly looking still since her old design had bows and such but i also wanted to make her tastes maybe more refined and mature. as i was dressing her she also started coming off more with maybe brazilian vibes which wasnt the intention but thats the sort of beauty i think she ended up carrying. lastly i decided to keep her old jewlery since there wasnt realyl a reason to remove that and i felt it'd be a nice reminder that shes still the same character. i did change her hair bow to be the same as what she has on her hero design in my pony one just because you couldnt see the bow from this angle anyway and i didnt wanna give her like a comically huge bow. i think that's all the changes i made other than obviously making her human. oh yeah i changed her name to Alice XD i just kept thinking Alice as i was drawing her clothes and was ig convincing myself that was her name because when i looked up at my ref sheet i thought "oh her name is stella? huh.." like idk i remembered mare i was just calling her Alice Mare in my head XD so yeah i think i'll rename her maybe fully we'll see happy timezones people Commissions are Open links https://www.deviantart.com/blakefate https://www.tumblr.com/blakefate1356 https://www.patreon.com/BlakeFate https://ko-fi.com/steph90314 https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/31935735

THE SIDES (+ extra) & THEIR PACIS ! (headcanons)

Not all of these will have images! Some of them will if I can find an example of what I am imagining :)

Roman - obviously, very disney themed or prince themed. He'd prefer red pacifiers, because it's his colour !!!, but will make an exception if it's a character he likes.

The 1st 1 is a Queen of Hearts themed paci, but I think Roman would love all the red details and especially the little crown. I also think Roman loves lilo & stitch (more than usual when he's regressing) & would have a blue paci if it means he can have stitch on his paci.

(Also I think stitch reminds him of his brother Remus and he loves his brother! Even if big him denies it)

(1 & 3 - bellesbinkies on IG, 2 - kittycat.crafts)

Orange - we haven't met him, but I think he loves orange juice and probably has a paci covered in oranges. (Big him is so upset everyone keeps comparing him to an orange and gets even more upset that little him loves oranges).

Janus - has to have a snake on it. If it doesn't have a snake on it he cries and cries and cries until Roman/whoever summons a new one/adds one. Unfortunately, I cannot find a paci that has snakes on it :(

It can be any colour and decorated any way, but it has to have a snake (or multiple, preferably). He also loves when his pacis are the colour of his caregiver(s)!!

I did find this one by bellesbinkies & I think it's right up his alley anyway :3 just imagine there's a snake on it, or janus will wail.

Remus - bright green and covered in as many charms and jewels as he can put on it. Once it becomes unusable and he starts all over with a new one!! I think he has a gir from invader zim center piece or a skelanimal (most likely lolita the dolphin).

He also 100% somehow chews through the all rubber pieces of his binkie . No one knows how he does it.

Patton - FROGS !!! He most likely owns like 20 pacis and theyre all different. One has a frog centerpiece and another one has a dog and another one has a rabbit and another one has a cat— he needs a million (even if logan tells him its impossible to own a million). He likes to switch out through out the day, he doesn't want any paci feeling unloved !!!

I bet he also loves pacis with shakers!

Logan - probably has around 3 or 4 pacis that he switches through, but his most used is something that looks like the one below. He also has his CG (or himself) glue on little letters that spells out "little star" :)

The rest of his pacis are dark blue with various themes, like doctor who and ocean animals! He has a bingo paci too (He loves bluey!)

Virgil - i found this one and this is SO virgil. He probably goes all out for his binkies !! He wants his binkie to be "spoopy", but not super scary or else he gets really scared (remus once tried gifting him one that was just a little too much for baby virgil & he couldnt sleep alone for weeks).

He uses one paci at a time, usually for months, but once he gets tired of it, he will swap it out.

EXTRA !!

C!Thomas - has a steven universe paci. It's red with a yellow shaker full of little stars (like steven's shirt)

Emile Picani - a snoopy paci that's black and white with little charms

Remy/Sleep - all black paci, covered in little "z"s with the words "sleepy baby" on it.

So how does Rion feel about his Elgar'nan vallaslin after everything that happens in Veilguard? 👀 Or does it not matter to him?

OH MAN this is a question with needlepoint precision and i love it <3 i haven't fully uncovered Veilguard yet so this might be a bit thin on the detail for now but hooooo boy

i think it's a weird one, a weird mix of feelings there - some are more transient, more in the vein of vanity which is hardly an uncommon occurrence for Rion, and others are more insidious and hard to untangle.

to start with, being raised the way he was - a mix of andrastian and dalish and rivaini and everything in between - i don't think Rion had a particularly strong tie to the elven gods in the first place. which adds some context to the next part:

Clan Severan tend to get their vallaslin much later on in life than other Dalish clans grant theirs - usually as a coming of age ritual, iirc, i could be totally wrong tho. but in any case, to Clan Severan, vallaslin isn't a right of passage as much as it is a mark of survival, granted only when it is seen to be required or earned. almost like a protective ward. 'you have persevered' it says, 'may the gods grant you peace' and the unspoken truth that comes with it is knowing that the recipient has suffered for it. still a sacred mark, but perhaps for different reasons.

Rion got his at a young age, by Severan standards, not long before he left for Kinloch Hold. that in itself is not a nice thought. and Rion kind of went into the ceremony with the assumption that his vallaslin was granting him protection for the road ahead, but something was said to him in that ritual that forever changed his outlook on it.

"may the gods show you what you cannot hear"

a tiny drop in the ocean of that ritual which lasted hours, and of course probably said with good intent, but it set the first of many thorns in the proverbial lion's paw. elgar'nan's mark clawed its way onto Rion's face over agonizing hours - given because of the god's connection to the sun, a symbol deeply revered by Clan Severan and meant to show the love that Rion was regarded with - and all Rion could think was how much they pitied him. it upset him a lot, and it's not something he's really told anyone.

after that, he kind of just ascribed his own meaning to it. elgar'nan, god of vengeance. elgar'nan, "cause he was good at farming, or some shit." elgar'nan, whose light burned so brightly that the abyss couldn't contain it. all much nicer than, "the only god my clan thought could help me" when it comes to explaining to curious minds.

so between all its nebulous explanations it became meaningless, for a while. but i think as that bitterness kind of quelled and Rion matured into the eventual Grey Warden and Inquisitor we know him as, he began to see it more as a mark of survival - as intended - but in spite of the way people perceive him. he survives because he made sure of it, because he's sharp and horrifically stubborn, and not because some absent god deigns to pluck the strings of fate just enough to allow this broken elf to live another day -- out of pity.

so all this to say: i don't think Rion cares. his vallaslin has long been separated from elgar'nan. if anything, now it's even sweeter to wear the mark of the god who couldnt help you even if he wanted to, and know that you have done what he could not: survive.

its very long i apologise

context: at this point, reds killed the forest spirit, the mushrooms, slim jim shroom (the sprunkel fight), the maze monster and gold pig

(this is literally just bc during a playthrough when i got to this point i figured "...yeah, this would hurt them mentally." so i MADE it hurt ;3 ) (they killed gold pig out of spite, they were the only person red WANTED to kill not counting maze monster)

they couldnt bring themself to kill their friends so they quit. they didnt let the lost spirits know that they were quitting the murder rampage, they just did. ofc the lost spirits weren't happy about this, so they started to 'punish' red for this. they appeared in their dreams, *fucked up* their dreams, and every so often one of them would appear and just...lecture them, using their mental state against them, so this hurt

nobody alive knows about them, not even blue

reds become a lot more protective, meaning theyll get mega pissed if someone hurts blue, green learned the hard way (they decided to prank red into thinking theyd killed blue (dumbass) and red almost killed them they were so upset)

a few weeks? go by and red decides theyve had enough of constantly fearing that they'll hurt their friends so they decide 'What's the point of keeping this stupid arm if all it does is hurt people?' and casually drop it into the incinerator where it burns to a crisp

the lost spirits did NOT like that.

(zoom in to read details but im explaining it more so uh) the lost souls got a lot more direct in how they were making red regret this. they appeared in their dreams *every night* instead of just when they felt like, and warped them more and more until red would wake up terrified

the spirits started following them everywhere, always just out of sight. every time red's seperate from the rest of the group, they appear, multiple at once.

this ended up driving red mad, and they go bezerk, running away into the Peaceful Forest (peaceful my ass) because theyre so afraid to hurt their friends now that theyre not taking any chances

because theyre so unstable they act like a scared animal, if they cant run theyll attack. literally the only person they wont try to hurt is blue, because even in their madness they know they care about them too much to hurt them

after a month and couple weeks of looking for them, rasta beast finds them in the forest eventually, very much scuffed. red does the whole regular run away thing, until they get cornered. a small (physical, not dance) fight breaks down, rasta fighting back in self defense, until they manage to knock some sense into red. for the first time in a while, red's comforted

this does nothing for their fractured mind, but it gives rasta beast a *little* more protection, because they can snap red out of it for even just a couple minutes

rasta beast goes back and tells the others (everyone hangs around prof.orange's lab cause protection) and prof.orange wants to get red into the lab maybe to study them or something so he sends green and purple mages to get them cause theyre magical and shit

after a mad goose chase the two lose red, but green finds some gnomes (the psychadelic ones) and asks them to get red high out of their mind so they and purple can bring them to orange

(little about the gnomes in this au, they can emmit pheromones that stimulate the mind like weed does because there is NO WAY red wasnt high for 'you want gnomes'. also whenever red is high theyre too overwhelmed to do anything so they eventually just flop over and see god until it wears off, which is why green got the gnomes)

it works and now purple and green are bickering about the morality of the drugging while dragging a practically passed out red to the lab

(ive come up with everything until this point, ill make a part 2 whenever i add to this)

(oh yeah and i forgot to mention but prof.orange has a machine and using it seperated pink and red so the vessel is sentient and the soul lives, orange also made a machine that translates some of red' thoughts into audible sound, they were so fucking happy when they heard their voice they cried)

can you say anything about what happened in cloud9? so we know who to watch out for in the future

i'm just going to give a little bit of insight, i don't want to add screenshots until the muns involved have given the okay. tw: anti-blackness, misogyny, mentions of sexual content, ableism

the reason cloud9 closed was because a member (or multiple) had gone to the admin about how the negative subtweets during a draft drop had made them uncomfortable. the admin had made multiple tweets asking the group to avoid doing that sort of thing. completely understandable and reasonable! however, the admin had gone to a black muse's mun and told them they were creating a hostile environment and creating an unwelcoming space for others. mind you, there were many people dropping negative tweets during this draft drop and that language is just not appropriate when speaking about a black person. when the mun responded and asked for more detail, the admin sent one last message blocked them so they couldnt respond anymore. PLEASE BE MORE MINDFUL OF THE LANGUAGE YOU USE TOWARDS MUSES AND MUNS OF COLOR PLEASEEEEEE

after members called the admin out, they posted a thread saying there were "harmful allegations" (allegations? we had seen the dms they sent the mun. it wasnt allegations.) and that they were only trying to issue warnings. there was no real apology ever given. not a good one at least.

when then found out who this admin was. the character wasnt very inclusive, didnt exist out of their ship, and just completely showed favoritism to their own character. they said someone else (who did way more to be inclusive than they ever did) was unwelcoming, but couldnt even be bothered themselves. i'm telling you right now, the members did more for the group than the admin did. from games to movie night to making sure every single intro and selfie got traction. they were wonderful people and so inclusive.

not to mention the passive aggressiveness when confronting any of the other muns about anything. talking about "backseat adminning" over NOTHING. normally i am alllll for admins and on their defense team but a lot of the people who came forward about how this admin treated them were absolutely not in the wrong.

after all this, they deactivated their muse's account, the main account, and their ship partner deactivated too...

another person spoken about was a former member of the group. this person made 15+ muns uncomfortable.

there was an instance with ableism where they were incredibly aggressive towards someone with autism after a miscommunication issue.

there were many instances with misogyny where he talked nasty about "fem-presenting" fcs. ESPECIALLY, if he was dickriding their potential ship partners. he would talk shit about them to other muses and even talk about wanted to fuck their partners right to them.

he sent unsolicited dick AND ass pics (i don't know if everyone experienced this but my muse did and it wasnt just one time.) it doesnt matter if this was a smut group, majority of the muses and muns here knew how to respect boundaries. this person absolutely did not.

back to the dickriding, BOTH of the characters this mun played only really spoke to men and couldn't hold conversation with many people outside of sex talk. again, yes this was a smut group. but my muse had a sexual connection with two people the entire time they were there and had AMAZING friendships. even 30+ dms a day. if you're only in a group (ANY GROUP) to have sexual connections, maybe you shouldnt be joining any groups.

nobody felt like they could say anything because feeling that uncomfortable with both a member AND an admin can make it extremely hard.

i hit 10 image limit... but i dont think either of these muns will be in poki but i am VERY sure that the amount of people that stood up for each other today, will let the admins know if there's something to worry about. and if you werent in cloud9, do not let this deter you from poki!!! looking at the apps, these are wonderful potential characters and these admins have put a lot of hard work into it. but if ANYONE makes you uncomfortable in ANY group, please talk to them directly or if you're nervous about the confrontation, go to the admins. your feelings are important and, if theres anything i've learned from this, a lot of people might feel the same as you.

When were they clearly planning on Swarm tour extensions? I'm not disagreeing w you! tbh the idea they'd release work to meet contract reqs is interesting, but why do you think it's specifically Reprise and not Warner's press division/marketing?

no that makes sense if u havent been keeping a pretty close eye. I mean less literally working separately and more like. Gerard was obviously the artistic director for swarm, both tour and merch design, as well as leading the TBP long live tour project creatively. During the swarm tour, the shows were very aware of the fans and their interests, from the merch to the setlist. There was an overarching and cohesive concept. This is also with the long live tour, if not moreso with how specific and precise the visuals and story details have been so far. We get at least slightly more clear information on the what when and how of whatever is announced and usually dont get the like 8 hour pre release accidental announcement via a spotify upload made visible too early like we did with revenge remaster.

Its just wild that whenever the band are even a little out of the loop on a minor announcement like this, or like the vinyl repressing of may death never stop you where they had to repost the instagram announcement like 4 times because they kept fucking up the formatting and couldnt correctly add the link to the bio, or the time that people were freaking out over tickets getting scalper and in the middle of that the instagram posted about the tickets selling out and left comments on so that everyone could get pissed and yell at them. Its the kind of basic, basic promotional moves that no band being supported by a major label should be dealing with from their team. Its extremely limited and low effort work that leads to active pr disasters like mcr becoming the fact of disastrous ticket sales and their team having essentially no response or plan for it. This remaster shouldve been an easy slam dunk, its their biggest album only next to black parade, falling perfectly in the nostalgia window and coming out right before a major tour. A clean and clear release plan and some simple promo shouldnt be a struggle for the team to pull off, but we got a surprise drop that felt almost unintentional and a late instagram post actually explaining what it was and the plans for its physical release with the band itself getting pretty much no promo material to post themselves and no clear answer on whether the album will be available at any point soon on all streaming services or if its exclusive to a small handful (i believe its currently on tidal and apple music). Other people probably remember more moments where the team fucked up and wasnt able to promote or respond to/manage a situation that shouldve been easily manageable but this is what immediately comes to mind bc the issue isnt exclusive to minor releases, just worse because the band isnt there to essentially co manage and quality control the release.

HI HI ^^!! sorry i couldnt respond sooner but i have some songs in mind. unfortunately not many songs were in the top of my head (except for the first song) so i searched my spotify playlist to find some songs (i found barely). I'm sure some other people have better songs for her as I do not consider myself the Rose Lacroix Connoisseur despite loving her lots, but anyways i will list my reasonings for my choices, the ways they fit and some of the ways they don't.

"Just a waste" by PinkPantheress — This song heavily revolves around negativity being so ingrained in her [Pinkpantheress] life to the point of swallowing in grief. While attempting to come in terms with it via coping—particularly by putting blame on herself—she wants to run away from it all. There are mentions of fear, running away from her problems along the knowledge that others are tired of her running away, and a mother being apart of her life. Although, the context of these mentions are more specific, and the song's meaning is particularly about a mother and daughter relationship (which by looking at context, it's complicated with a variation of negativity brewing), you can interpret a lot of the song as fitting for Rose.

Rose's life heavily revolves around negativity and grief, including the death game she's in now. Thus, she's developed major depression and ways to cope with her life. Although her depression could most definitely influence her sleeping habits, she uses it to her advantage by using it as a way to cope, as she is constantly overwhelmed by her strong memory. "Crying in the stall of a washroom floor" is definitely a lyric that reminds me of Rose so much, especially her behavior when the investigation happened during Chapter 2. "I never asked to be driven away in a foreign car (Ow)" can apply to her never really asking to be swept away by the organization and only doing it for financial support; she only felt as if it was a need.

Other than that, despite not knowing the details of how her and other cast got into the game, the lyric also describes not wanting to be in this game. Her mother (or well, mothers) has been in her life and are very important for her story, and although the song is lightly specific when it comes to the mother-daughter relationship, the mention of a mother just adds to how this song fits Rose.

"Misery Meat" by Sodikken — This song is just so specifically about an abuser "eating" the abused that i genuinely can't give as much extra notes about this suggestion as I did for the first. Of course, this song is very good for describing an organization feeding off of their workers. The organization preyed on Rose for gain; the more the organization pushes their "ownership" onto her, the more the thought of herself not be her is overbearing for her. She's being eaten away by the organization. The last line "Good thing I'm forgiving" can be interpreted as the victim mocking themselves "accepting" their abuse by being manipulated. They're attempting to accept that they're "for giving" themselves to the abuser. "Sacrifices must be made" is a lyric which can apply to Rose's believing it was a "need" to sacrifice herself due to her and her family struggling with being poor.

"Amygdala's Rag Doll" by GHOST (Vocaloid) — This song is about a rag doll's suffering. The mention of the singer (the doll) knowing the world's an "eye for eye" can describe Rose's awareness sacrificing her body for the organization is a "trade" for gaining financial support. The singer speaks about being a trouble maker, and feeling regret; as Rose deeply appreciates her mothers for supporting her even when they're struggling, and though the series never blatantly expresses this specific thought, it can be assumed that Rose feels as if her existence is "troubled" as her mothers needing to support their child can risk them being even more financially troubled than they were before. The puppetry aesthetic that defines this song matches Rose when it comes to being bound to the organization and the lack of control she feels (as has).

"NOTHING MAN" by Sodikken — A message about someone stating they're satisfied with being nothing, but feels guilty about it, yet refuses to change, is one which very loosely fits Rose. Although if you adjust the message—thus the lyrics' meaning and specifics—you can get a message of someone stating they've come to this false sense of accepting that their identity is stripped away from them to become a husk ("being nothing" now has a different meaning), but secretly feels guilty for not owning herself and has trouble changing this.

The last lines, "Somebody else's fractured dreams / Got up on their little feet / And came to talk to me / Too bad I wasn't listening / I was too busy falling asleep" are those that describe someone's dream (the organization) being projected onto Rose, attempting to mold her existences into being the organization's existence, but this message that Roses was meant to internalized (and has, to an extent) has not kept her from wishing she was free from chains. She doesn't put her full heart into the organization, so to an extent, she wasn't "listening." She rejects being an empty husk of a person, but only passively (unlike J, who she parallels a lot).

When Jayce asks him to marry him, one night over equations and pastries, he says yes like its any other typical question. At first, he thinks its a joke because he just solved their issue with the practicalities of applying old arcane to a hexclaw.

He doesn't connect the odd behavior until later.

See, Jayce likes to give Viktor things. A crutch. A leg brace. A shoulder strap to his back brace.

So he didn't think it odd that Jayce would give him other things.

Like a nice pair of dress shoes.

"For a gala I might not even go to? Jayce, you were a councilor for two days-they might not let you in after you put in your resignation."

Jayce just laughs at him.

"For a gala, sure!" He snorts. "Break them in. The right one can even attach to the metal for your brace without pinching it."

It's such a kind detail in the gesture he forgets about the oddness of the gift.

The suit he's gifted is treated just the same.

"You got my size?" Viktor asks him, his fingers gentle over the silk maroon, outlined in teals and warm browns. Talis colors-the real Talis colors. "How?"

"I always have your clothes size. It's the same from when we went to that party a year ago. We always use my tailor for everything. Try it on, we need to see if there's any adjusting to be done."

He follows the request, an odd feeling tugging at his chest.

Somethings off.

The gifts and questions continue.

"What kind of flowers do you like best?"

"Okay, party food; do we do more sweets or more savory?"

"Chicken or steak?"

"What kind of wine do you like best?"

Something in Viktor prevents him from asking why Jayce is asking him all these questions. He gives his opinion to each one, feeling delighted when Jayce grins and adds it to one of his many notebooks. By the time summer hits, the questions have slowed.

"Alright, what about the tenth? Is that a good date?"

Oh. He gets it now. Jayce is turning thirty-five. A big deal in his family. He must be planning a party of some sort. It's not his actual birthday-but given the tenth of July is a Saturday, and the fourth is a Sunday, he's likely planning for the party to be a big deal.

Hence the specification of the date.

"Sounds perfect." Viktor tells him. "Should I wear the suit and shoes?"

Jayce just cackles back.

"Please do," Jayce says. "I did have them made for this."

"Then I shall."

So the thing is-he and Jayce tell each other everything. They don't have secrets.

Jayce knows about his past, about being orphaned right after he got into the Academy, the second-hand uniform with no application, sneaking into lectures and pretending to be from the Freljord because that was more acceptable then being from Zaun.

Jayce knows about him as a little kid, unable to play with the others because he couldn't be active, that he liked playing with toys and making up stories while they liked jumping from cliffs into the water or playing tag.

He knows about his venture into the cave.

Jayce knows about Rio.

So why is Singed here, of all things?

His suit truly is tailor-made, as are his shoes. So he's particularly annoyed that his anxious tugging can't be bought-off as the clothing constricting him.

"Why are you here?" He asks, his voice low. "Why?"

"I am here to follow tradition, as they say," the old doctor says. He looks much different than the last time Viktor saw him, older, bandaged up, skinnier. Balder, he thinks, with a sadistic sort of glee. Good. "You require a family member for this evening, as witness, so I have arrived to assist. The olive branch, if you will."

"I wont," he says, more out of reflex. "Wait. Why do I require a witness?"

This is embarasing.

Humiliating, even.

Because one: Jayce literally and legitiatemntly proposed to him.

Two: He now knows all the questions were actually for wedding planning.

Three: Viktor was not prepared for the emotions of it all.

"Viktor!" Jayce's hushed, whispered voice fills his ears as Viktor is pulled into a side hallway. A few curious people-two of them being Caitlyn and Violet-pass by with nothing more than a wave. Oh gods. What is he going to do? "Are you ready?"

Viktor takes him all in. Jayce looks even more handsome than usual, which is saying something, because Jayce always looks handsome. Not that Viktor ever thinks of his partner like that. Nope. Definitely does not have those kinds of dreams.

He's in deep greens and silvers, asymmetrical designs. Plum purple is woven in as well. Oh Janna, he's combining their colors-Jayce went into so much detail. How Viktor going to tell him he had no idea Jayce was truly proposing?

"Jayce-I need to tell you-"

Jayce presses a kiss to his lips, gentle, soft, warm.

It's everything Viktor imagined and more.

He can't help but smile as they part.

"Jayce."

"I couldn't help myself," Jayce says. "Sorry."

"Jayce, I- I need to admit something," he starts. "When you asked me-as me for my hand, I didn't-I didn't know you were-look. Jayce-" He breathes, trying to avoid looking in Jayce's eyeline. The larger man's hands fall to his waist, strong and comforting. "I did not know you were asking me for my hand in marriage."

He closes his eyes shut tight, braces for the worst.

Instead, Jayce laughs.

Opening his eyes, he sees his partner, grinning, gap-toothed and still so handsome.

"I know," Jayce tells him, leaning to press another kiss at his cheek. "I figured it out when you told me you thought savory was better. If you were to actually decide a meal plan, I think you'd force everyone to eat sweets until their teeth fell out."

"Huh?"

"Viktor," Jayce brings him in closer, moving one of his hands to his lower back. "Look at me, okay?"

Viktor follows the request.

"I love you."

It's a statement-a comment-that Viktor knows is true the minute it hits his ears.

Jayce never lies.

Not to him.

"I think I've always loved you, even when you arrested me-"

Despite the seriousness of it all, he can't help but grin and correct him.

"Technically Grayson arrested you. I was there on behalf of the dean."

"Shush." The other hand not on his back moves from his hip to brush at his bangs. "I want us to be together, forever. Do you want that too?"

Viktor realizes he doesn't need long to give him an answer.

He thinks of shared coffee under stars, writing notes on napkins in cafes, hopping on Jayce's back so they could run to the lab when one of them had a breakthrough. He thinks of the times he's fallen asleep at a desk and woken up to being laid on the couch. He thinks of the green-gold of Jayce's eyes and how well they match to his orange-gold.

"I do," he says, then takes a leap, craning his neck up to press a kiss to Jayce's chin. "I do, actually."

"Good," Jayce says, then captures him in another kiss. "Then let's go party."

He's reluctant to let him go-they have so much to discuss, like who's apartment they'll be living in (likely Viktor's, given he's on the first floor and has the better bathroom) if they will have pets (Jayce has always wanted a turtle) and well, what to do with the rest of their lives.

But he is still curious about one thing.

"So what is this party for, then?" Viktor asks. "The plans seemed great."

"Late birthday party," Jayce tells him as they turn, keeping one hand on Viktor's side, careful not to knock his cane. "But Mel is a registered officiant. Sky can be your witness, since Singed technically led you here and 'gave you away' already."

"Hmm."

He actually likes the idea.

At least he won't need to get dressed up again.

Maybe there is even cake in his future. Piltover weddings have cake.

"No one knows this was supposed to be a wedding, by the way. I didn't tell anyone, which, thank the gods I figured it out quick. Would have been embarrassing to have Singed walk you down the aisle and you have no idea what it was for."

"I think everyone would have been focused on the almost seven-foot man with half a bandaged face and likely illegal experiment in his pockets, but you are right."

"Aren't I always?"

"Perhaps," Viktor smiles, warm spreading across his chest as Jayce grins down at him. "He is likely around here anyways. He does have some kindness in his heart, somewhere. Nostalgia, possibly. Hiding behind the curtains upstairs."

They reach the double doors, the sounds of an already-going party muffled behind the ornate wood.

"What do you say, Vik?" Jayce asks, leaning into his ear. "Will you marry me?"

This time, Viktor knows the question isn't a silly joke.

"I will," Viktor decides. "I think it is your best idea yet."

They push the doors open together, and walk towards their future.

I like the idea of jayvik getting married and viktor being oblivious, like jayce asked him if he wanted to get married dna dviktor thought it was a joke so he said yes(but viktor still loves jayce ofc) but jayce is completely serious and gets to planning, like everyone's congratulating viktor and viktor has no idea what's going on, even singed shows up to walk viktor down the isle(i like to think that viktor and singed have a father-son relationshipl) and it isn't until that singed shows up that he realises what's going on and decides to still go on with the wedding, and then jayce and viktor get married dna dlive happily ever after :D

You know this story.

In fact, you know this story so well you can almost quote all its morbid details from memory. A or B, the Joker is saying, his smile too sharp and too wide. Forehand or backhand. An absent mother is turning away and breathing deep the smoke of a cigarette. In the distance the Batman is careening towards the warehouse in ever-increasing panic.

You know this story, and therefore you also know this to be an unchangeable truth: in every story, the Batman is too late.

But this is not that story. No. In this story the universe relents, for once in his goddamn life.

The Batman is given fifteen more seconds of grace.

Bruce kicked the doors down and burst into the warehouse. At the sight of Jason, bloody and broken on the ground, he made an awful noise and fell to his knees.

Faintly, he registered Sheila Haywood scrambling out through the newly-made exit, but all he could think about, through the blood roaring in his ears, was Jason.

“Bruce,” Jason wept, “B, you came.”

“I did,” Bruce rumbled, even as his heart cracked. “I’m here, Jason.”

“The bomb,” Jason babbled, delirious with blood loss and panic. “Wait, B, he left a bomb, you gotta—”

Bruce’s head snapped to look around the warehouse and—

0:04, the timer read, ticking steadily toward zero, and Bruce was already gathering Jason into his arms.

0:03.

He went straight for the doors, but there wouldn’t be time, what could he do, there was nothing he could—

0:02.

Nothing, he realized, but himself.

“B,” Jason said. “What are you—”

0:01.

Bruce threw himself to the ground, covering Jason with his body and cradling Jason’s head with his arm, and a heartbeat later the bomb went off.

Everything hurt.

The blast was still ringing in his ears. Jason pried his eyes open and was honestly surprised when he succeeded. He should be dead, shouldn’t he?

There was something heavy pinning him down, crushing his cracked ribs, and with a pained gasp he shoved it off him, hauling himself upward—wait, oh god, that something was Bruce.

Jason, frantic, clambered over to where he’d pushed aside Bruce’s limp body and rolled Bruce onto his back.

His cowl was half-torn off, and his suit ravaged and bloody. Jason, hands trembling, searched for a pulse, while he tried in vain to ignore the stench of scorched flesh.

Beneath his fingers, Bruce’s heart beat a weak, thready rhythm, but it beat all the same, and Jason could almost sob with relief.

Now if only Bruce would wake up.

“Bruce?” Jason asked, voice shaking, even as he rummaged through Bruce’s utility belt for a communicator. “Bruce, come on, you gotta stay with me.”

Bruce made a pained noise, but otherwise his eyes stayed shut.

“Bruce,” Jason said, panic making him louder. “Bruce, I can’t—just wake up, B, and we’ll get you home and, and—”

Bruce stirred, then, and Jason faltered.

“Jay?” Bruce rasped, with great effort.

“B.” Jason nearly wept in relief. “Yes, it’s me, it’s Jason. Come on, B, we gotta go. Where’s your spare comms?”

Weakly, Bruce pushed Jason’s hands away. “No,” he said. “No use. Jason—”

“No use?” Jason repeated, dumbstruck. “No use?”

“Jay, listen—”

“No!” Jason exploded. “You are not dying on me, old man! Now where are your spare comms?”

“Jason, I—” Whatever Bruce was about to say was cut off by a series of harsh, hacking coughs. Jason watched wide-eyed as blood trickled out of Bruce’s mouth.

“No,” Jason breathed.

“Jason,” Bruce said again, his voice wrecked. “Jason, please, I don’t have much time.”

Jason dug his palms against his closed eyes.

“Jason,” Bruce said, “I don’t... I don’t regret this. Don’t blame”—another harsh cough—“blame yourself when I...”

“No, no, shut up, B, don’t talk like that—”

“Jason,” Bruce continued heedlessly, “tell Dick I’m sorry. Give Alfred my love. And...”

Bruce touched Jason’s cheek, and Jason leaned into it, crying. Bruce’s hand trembled as he wiped away Jason’s tears.

“I don’t tell you this enough,” Bruce said quietly, his voice growing ever weaker, “but I’m proud of you, Jason. You and Dick both.”

“Bruce,” Jason sobbed. “I’m going to kill him—I swear to God, I—”

Bruce smiled, small, with bloody teeth peeking through a ruined mouth. Somehow, it was still so inexplicably fond. “We don’t kill, Jay. Promise me you won’t.”

“Why not?” Jason shouted, swiping furiously at his tears. “Bruce, you’re going to—going to—because of him! Why not?”

“Because,” Bruce said simply, “because I love you, son.”

That doesn’t make sense, Jason thought hysterically, but Bruce was saying, “Promise me, Jaylad,” and Jason, damn him, Jason could not refuse his father anything, not now, so he choked out an “I promise,” and—

Two and a half heartbeats later, Bruce Wayne breathed his last in the wreckage of his son’s would-be grave.

Two of a kind || Erwin x gn!reader

Warnings: None, I think its fluff. Erwin and Reader are med students

I'm a sucker for academic rivals to lovers. One of my favourite tropes. It's the first time im writing something so long so be kind

He was in every lecture, always raising his hands to add something or even correct the professor sometimes. His voice made your blood boil. Why he had a say to everything? You couldnt lie, Erwin was very smart but you'd rather die than admit it in front of someone.

You were also one of the top students, to be more specific you were the second one with the best grades. Erwin was obviously the first one leading to the growth of your hatred. Was it hate? Jealousy? It didn't matter you'd still roll your eyes when you saw him. You always wondered how he could be so effortlessly good at everything. You studied your arse off and he still beat you. Nothing you did was enough.

A new assignment came your way from the class you hated the most, bio computer science. You pushed the door of the library trying to find an empty seat at the computer section but unfortunately for you the only one was next to Erwin. You were very close to leaving the library but you wouldn't let him win. You sat next to him dragging obnoxiously loud your chair and dropped your bag on the floor. You were waiting for the computer to start while tapping the table with your fingers. Everyone around you was looking at you annoyed because clearly you didn't understand that you are in a library. Everyone but him.

He was so focused on his assignment, the reflection of the exercise was on his glasses that were sat prettily on his hooked nose. The admiration of Erwin didn't last long because the windows notification disrupted you. You focused immediately on the exercises that your teacher claimed as easy but when you saw them you wanted to cry because you were technologically illiterate. You looked around to see the expressions of everyone, they seemed so peaceful using the computers, some of them were even smiling.

You stretched a little to take a peak at Erwins progress but your face dropped when you witnessed that was too close to the end. "Do you want any help?" His eyes were now on you after noticing your presence. "Nah just stretching before I start. It helps me pay attention on something longer" you internally cringed with your words. "never heard of that but if that helps you" he chuckled. "Yeah you should try it too" you start stretching your arms and then cracked your fingers. If all the people in the computer section weren't looking you before they sure did now.

Erwin shut down his computer standing up. "I got to go now. Have a nice day" you watched him leaving the library with his leather bag wearing a dark blue button up shirt and grey pants that hugged perfectly his toned butt. When the perfect view left your sight, you had to turn back to the assignment that will definitely haunt your dreams later.

The next morning welcomed you with a headache from your bio computer assignment and Erwin being in the front row. He looked so fresh and full of energy while you looked like you're are one blink away from dying. In order to be better like him you need to see how he works so that's why you sat next to him and it wasn't because you were secretly attracted to him.

"Good morning" he said to you with a warm smile "Morning Erwin" you replied already beaten by his charm. You paid attention in every detail of his routine cursing yourself for being so unorganised. He was writing so fast but so neatly. Everything about him screamed perfection from his looks to his academic performance. You shared every class together. You were quite surprised that you and him made the same choices. Maybe in another universe you two would be very good friends if you didn't want to be better than him.

Curiosity was dominating your brain. What were his feelings about you? Did he see you as a threat? Did he see you as competition? "No way" you said to yourself "what?" Erwin asked you looking at your eyes and that's when you realised that it wasn't an internal thought. "I'm deeply fascinated by the pulmonary edema" you said glancing at the power point of the lecturer. "Yeah it's pretty interesting" he said making you giggle. He didn't question it, you looked so adorable that he wanted to kiss your cheeks.

"Sooo, do you have a partner?" He caught you off guard with that question. What kind of partner? "A partner?" You asked with a confused look. "For the project our professor just said". You were too focused on Erwin and your thoughts that you forgot you even were in a class. "Right. No I don't have. I don't like working with others because they don't reach my expectations" you said that a little bit louder because some people around you looked at you with disgust. Maybe they hated you or they were jealous. Maybe it's the same feeling you have with Erwin? You couldnt care less about what others were thinking about you.

"I know that but since we are in the same level, I thought we'll work well together" he said but you only heard two words same level. "You think we are the same?" Trying not to smile was impossible for you now. "Of course, you are very smart and you are the best at the clinical practice. I don't understand how you remain so calm. To be honest I'm pretty jealous of your ability to make right decisions in a chaotic place" if you weren't shy you'd hug him right now.

You never expected those words coming from his mouth. Your pride didn't let you to compliment him back about how much you admire him. Maybe one day you'll do it. "Thank you. I'll share my tips to you when we'll do our project" you said giving your phone to Erwin "give me your number. I'll send you my address" he grabbed your phone with shaking hands but you didn't comment on it. You were both embarrassingly awful when it comes to flirting but he was still so cute. His voice didn't seem so annoying anymore.

the TMGB theory

i think theres a bit more to Shinjukus “destruction” if we shift our attention to its most iconic landmark, the tokyo metropolitan government building. 

Note: this theory is just for fun. but I think it has a good shot at estimating the future higher plane storyline

Before we get into the details of the TMGB, lets first establish something about the purification of Shinjuku

This dialogue from w2d4 is about much detail as we’ll get about what happened to Shinjuku, and what effect its “destruction” had on the RG. It was “wiped out” “erased” and “vanished”; nobody in the RG remembers it, except for the people that had been in the UG before.

Well “how can a whole city just vanish?” the answer is: it cant. But lets first bring this visual aid into play

Shinjuku used to be just north of Shibuya, but its not gone in the sense that it left a hole in reality and people just black out whenever they pass through. No, it seems like Shinjuku as an established district is gone, meaning its borders were never drawn, and all its space was instead given to all the other districts.

Basically, instead of “vanishing”, its more like memories and history were rewritten so that Shinjuku was just never a thing. Instead, the other districts just expanded their reach and parts of formerly-Shinjuku are now parts of other cities.

I believe this has to be the case because the alternative brings more trouble than its worth: If it was truly erased to a point where the space it formerly occupied is just empty, people would notice. But as we see with rindo and the others, they dont! rindo had no idea there was even a city up there. Itd also make no sense if people just blacked out and suddenly ended up on the other side of Tokyo, itd mess with measurements bc theres just a bunch of space unaccounted for. people with a 6th sense would also have picked up on the area being iffy, but none of this seems to be the case

Now we can get to the tokyo metropolitan government building! Its pretty important considering its uh. The government. And also shinjukus most iconic landmark. If the city had actually been destroyed, then thered be severe consequences in the RG because their government building is suddenly just gone. A simple memory wipe could not make up for it not existing, and it definitely couldnt just magically conjur up a new building within moments. (I mean, whose jurisdiction would this even fall under? The other Composers would fight over whod get to have the literal government in their city)

Suffice to say “Shinjuku” still exists in the RG. Its just broken up into pieces and those are considered part of the other cities now.

So, if Shinjukus RG is fine, what about its UG?

What we see in A New Day may actually just be Shinjukus UG slowly fading into another plane. 

To backtrack a little, theres a reason the Shibuya UG we’re in during neo doesnt include its newly gained parts of shinjuku, its because Shinjukus UG also still exists, and as neku says “it’s still there, but it’s been cut off from both the RG and the UG.” so its inaccessible. Also meaning, it cant be broken up and added to the expansion of the other UGs. if someone were to, theoretically, die in the RG of the areas that were formerly part of shinjuku, theyd simply go to the UG of whichever district claimed that area, and just wouldnt be able to access that other area in that UG

Now that thats out of the way we can go back to the actual star of the show: the tokyo metropolitan government building! Needless to say, whichever district has the literal government within its borders is bound to be incredibly influential.

And it just so happens

That the TMGB now falls into Shibuyas borders!

I believe this may be the key to the future relevance of Shibuya. The city is already extremely influential, as joshua himself said

Shibuyas influence is too strong.

So strong in fact, it could potentially “poison” the other districts. Now imagine how powerful Shibuya would be if you added the Government into the mix.

Additionally, Shibuya is already considered special by the Higher Plane due to the Shibuya River.

The Shibuya River is a particularly unique place, though we dont know which exact properties make it so unique, the fact that it started flowing into its own plane even after its source was destroyed already marks it as incredibly powerful.

So Shibuya as a place is impressively influential, so itd be no surprise if the Higher Plane kept an eye out for it, but if there was any doubt about this,

Due to the events of og twewy, the city is also considered to have reached its ideal state. Without a doubt this only adds to its already impressive level of power, and basically assures that the Angels keep an eye out for the city even after the Game between Joshua and Megumi was over.

But then why were they suddenly so insistent on seeing Shibuya purified in neo? Well, we dont know. Despite mentioning purification so often and the fact that Angels seem to encourage it, we dont actually know why the Higher Plane wants to see Shibuya purified. By all means, it should be an optimal parallel world now, so why would they suddenly want to see it gone?

The key may actually be Joshua himself. After all, he intended to stop Shinjukus purification. Though we dont know why he interfered, whether it was out of a newfound appreciation for humanity that went beyond his own city, or if he actually wanted to prevent the TMGB from falling into his borders, he was actively going against what the Higher Plane wanted, which would automatically mark him as a nuisance in their plans. Surely by purifying Shibuya, its entire area and also the area it claimed from Shinjuku, would once again fall into the borders of another district, and thus another Composer. 

Its difficult to say whether this is an overarching plan from the Higher Plan that has spanned across both games. If youve read my post about Composers, which is about how Hazuki may actually be a demoted Angel from the Higher Plane, it could be possible that his demotion was on purpose, and that they intended for Haz to purify Shinjuku, therefore making Shibuya more powerful due to the TMGB falling into its borders. He would be the ideal candidate for this, as hes considered unsympathetic and lacks knowledge about the lower planes (and thus doesnt know about the TMGB), making it extremely easy to influence him to erase his city. (though you could also claim he was in on it, but then later changed his mind about it and decided to intervene with Shibuya’s destruction, once again due to Joshua’s influence)

Either way, Shibuya was saved! (again!) and now its more influential and powerful than ever. No doubt even more people would want to come after Shibuya’s seat of Composer, just to govern this massively important city. 

And who else still desires this seat other than our favourite math guy

The fact that his plotline about still wanting to go after the Composer is tucked away in the Secret Ending of Another Day, means that this still has to be followed up on in a potential next game. 

And what better scenario to bring this up than Shibuya being highly sought after due to its recently acquired influence-boost in the form of the government

and to summarize everything once more for extra clarity

Shinjuku wasnt destroyed so much as history was just overwritten so that Shinjuku as a district was never established, causing its area to be split up amongst the other districts. the TMGB now falls into the borders of Shibuya, and with it comes even more power and influence. Shibuya as a city already had an intense amount of influence over tokyo, and even the Shibuya River is so unique that it catches the attention of the Higher Plane. Despite Shibuya having reached its ideal state of being an optimal parallel world, the Higher Plane still wants to see it purified for some reason. Though we dont know why yet, it may be because of Joshua, the fact that hes Shibuyas Composer, and that he willfully goes against the Higher Plane, most notably when he interfered to prevent Shinjukus Inversion. Whether Hazuki is aware of an overarching plan or not, Joshua still influenced him to a point where he also decided to go against the Higher Plane by saving Shibuya. With Minamimoto still wanting the Composer’s seat, it sets the tone of Shibuya’s throne being more sought-after than ever. And the Higher Plane may be more relevant than ever to make sure this influential district falls into the hands of one of their own
