The Argo II became more of a home to the eight demigods during their months of travel. Even though the ship would most probably get destroyed beyond even Leo's repair by the time they finished their quest of destroying Gaea, that didn't stop them from finding comfort within the Celestial bronze walls.
During that morning, most of the demigods were in the dining room, enjoying their breakfast. They were all tired and sluggish, since the night before wasn't kind to them. Usually they would take shifts when it came to guarding the ship, but everyone was awake last night due to the mini army of winged terrors that came across the flying ship, which caused them to set down on the sea near the land.
They all slept for less than four hours, and they all wanted nothing more but to add to those hours of sleep.
"GODDAMN THIS STUPID HORSE!"
Well, most of them slept. It seemed that one of them didn't find sleep as luxurious as the rest did that night.
"How does she have this much energy? It's like, seven in the morning," Percy groaned, almost faceplanting into his blue pancakes if it weren't for Annabeth's quick reflexes to hold her boyfriend's head up.
"I SWEAR TO MY DAD'S ROMAN COUNTERPART I WILL TEAR YOU TO TINY LITTLE PIECES YOU HUNK OF SHIT!"
"She's a daughter of Ares alright," Frank chuckled tiredly, rubbing his eyes. "Only she can be heard this clearly when she's all the way on the other side of the ship."
"What horse is she talking about? I thought the stables were empty," Piper wondered, not bothering to tame her typhoon hair as she sipped her orange juice.
"THAT'S MY SHIRT YOU DUMBASS — ARION THE FUCKING HAY IS RIGHT THERE — STOP CHEWING MY DAMN SHIRT!"
It seemed that Arion decided to pay them a little visit now that they were set on a monster-free dock. That would explain Hazel's absence from the table, and how she reappeared in the doorway. She turned to Jason, who was trying to shovel as much food into his mouth as he could so he can go to the stables.
"She's gonna explode again," Hazel panted, putting a hand on her knee to support herself. "I tried getting her to breathe, like you normally do, Jason, but she's not listening. She might actually go through with killing Arion this time."
Jason swallowed, wiping his mouth as he stood up. "I'll go handle it. You," he pointed to Hazel, "eat."
Leo looked up from his rubber band helicopter to stare at his best friend. "Good luck, buddy. She hasn't bit off your head yet, but that could happen any day now."
Jason chuckled. "Thanks, Leo, but I'll be fine." He left the room.
More cursing and shouts that sounded dangerously close to war cries made Jason quicken his pace as he crossed the deck to go down into the stables, where he could see flickering shadows of a girl and a horse.
"If you bite at my shirt again, I'll shove a grenade down your throat and use your insides as monster bait."
Jason stopped walking, to see if you could actually control yourself this time.
Chomp.
"THAT'S IT, I'M GETTING MY GRENADES —"
You're thundering footsteps grew louder as you approached the doorway to leave the stables. Jason stepped forward just as you were about to exit the room, putting a placating hand on your shoulder. "Woah woah, slow down there Pompeii. No need to resort to violence so quickly, hmm?"
Strands of hay were poking out from your hair — which wasn't as messy as Piper's but it was well on its way there. There were dark circles under your angry eyes, indicating that you didn't sleep a wink that night. Your knuckles were white from how hard you were balling your fists, and heavy breaths escaped your lips. Jason swore that he could see a little bit of smoke coming out of your ears.
"That goddamn horse is gonna die," you seethed, your chest rising and falling from your angry inhales and exhales. "Step out of the way, Grace."
Jason shook his head, a calming smile on his lips as he moved his hands to your hair, picking out the hay before resting on your flaming cheeks, flushed with annoyance. "Breathe with me."
"I gotta give that stupid piece of shit what it deserves —"
"I know, I know, but you gotta breathe with me first, okay?"
"But —"
"Breathe. In..." He took a deep breath in, sending you a pointed look when you didn't follow. His scolding glance made you mutter some colorful words under your breath before following along with him.
"Out..."
You exhaled with him. You could feel your anger boil down, and Jason saw and felt your shoulders let out the tension in it.
"In..." you closed your eyes.
"Out..."
You opened them once you sensed that Jason was done. "How are you feeling?" He asked you.
"Better. Still a little annoyed, but I'm better."
"Remember what we said?"
You glared a little at Jason, before sighing and looking away. "I shouldn't act on my anger unless necessary."
"And was it necessary now?"
"No..."
Jason's smile grew, putting his palm under your chin to make you look at him so he could give you a small peck on your lips. "You look like you haven't slept. How about you rest in your cabin for the day, let the rest of us handle the monsters and the bird crap on the deck?"
You shrugged, acting like you didn't really care, an act that didn't convince Jason, judging from the way you leaned into his touch. "Sure, whatever. As long as someone else makes sure that damned horse is gone by the time I'm awake." You casted a heated glare at Arion behind you. The horse simply snorted, bending down to eat the hay that you were trying to get him to eat instead of your shirt moments before.
Jason nodded, his blonde hair swaying slightly with the movement. "Deal. Let's get some food in your system before you head to bed, okay?"
"Fine."
You let Jason lead you out of the stables and into the dining room, where everyone was.
The silence that followed your arrival was awkward and tense, like they were still waiting for some aftershock of your anger.
They finally breathed when you and Jason squeezed into a chair and Jason gave you food that you ate in silence, a pensive expression on your face as your eyes were focused only on the food in front of you, paying no mind to the stares of your fellow demigods."
"How do you do it?" Leo sighed, launching his helicopter, which flew out of the room. "Even back at camp, not even her siblings could contain her. That takes skill, man."
Your half sister Clarisse, despite being known for her issues with controlling her anger, could hardly restrain you when someone decided to tick you off.
Jason shrugged, staring lovingly at you, his girlfriend, cheeks slightly puffed from the food you were chewing. "I don't know man. I just do it."
But deep down, Jason knew the truth. You would never calm down unless you let yourself be calmed down by someone you completely trusted.
Being able to make you see through your anger was not a skill Jason had, it was simply the one of the perks of being your boyfriend, and the one person you trusted more than yourself.
And Jason would rather jump into Tartarus than let anyone else have the privilege that you entrusted to him.

Helpless part 26
He needed to try, the Ghost king shaked as he walked towards cabin 1, lifting his hand to knock, but he couldn't bring himself to do it. He couldn't fucking admit it, was too much. He walked back to his cabin, sweating, shaking, in tears. He took out a back of cigarettes, breathing in the nicotine, letting the smoke fill his lungs. He had to try again, he knew he wouldn't live if he didn't, he wished he could die, but he couldn't leave Hazel alone, she didn't deserve to suffer. A small part of his brain wondered... she had Frank, Reyna and that other girl, what was her name? Lavinia? But he knew he needed to at least try, if only for his younger sister. Tears streamed down his face as he forced himself to walk to the Posidon cabin, he wasn't sure why but he felt like Percy would be easier to talk to. His hand shaked as he knocked on the door, he wanted to run away but he didn't let himself, he couldn't be weak. Percy opened the door, instantly pulling Nico inside. The Ghost king sat on the bed and in a voice that was barely louder than a whisper, though tear spoke."..H.. Help me... please, I-I can't let- Hazel... be alone."
"You'll be okay, I'll help you." He pulled the sobbing boy into a hug,
"I'm not even worth fucking helping."
"Nico, I know you've gone through a lot, but you can't give up on life. Everyone's worth saving."
"I'm a suicidal faggot who can't have half a normal conversation with living people and everyone hates me because my dad is the king of the Underworld."
"Shh.. I know it's been hard, I know everything seems to be against you, but things will get better."
"I'm a fucking freak, the only reason I'm not dead yet is because I didn't want to leave Hazel alone but who fucking knows, maybe she'd be better off without a brother that killed two people. I want to give up."
"I wanted to as well."
"What..?" Percy turned his arm around, revealing pale scars streaking up and down his arms. "But... Why? When?"
"Well..., a lot of them were from before I found out I was a demigod."
"Doesn't that mean you were..."
"Eleven? Yes, my step dad, he was a nightmare."
{Percy's memory's}
"Can't wait till the fall, you'll get out from under my roof again."
"You're not even employed, how is this your roof? And I got back yesterday, leave me alone."
"Now litsen here you son of a bitch, the only place you will ever get in that fucking life of your is jail. You can't even fucking spell, your grades are worse than a first grader that's how fucking retarded you are. Go fetch me a beer, that's the only thing you're good for anyways, your slut of a mother isn't around all day to get it for me."
"DON'T SAY A WORD ABOUT MY MOM!"
"Oh, you want to be a little bitch? I'll see how strong you are in three fucking minutes." I ran into to my room, desperately trying to lock the broken door. He walked inside, snapping the belt.
"Now you're going to learn to respect me you bitch." I didn't reply, I knew that would only make things worse than they already are. The leather hit my back, I didn't flich, I wanted to scream from the pain but I wouldn't let him break me. Again, I knew the routine. Punches, kicks, yelling, I had it memorised, same as every summer before, same as every day. He kicked me to the side of my room, locking it from the outside with a padlock.I wouldn't cry, I can't give him the satisfaction. My whole body burned, I look at the scars left by the studded leather belt, I wanted to add more. Who would care anyways? I had no friends, mom might have cared but she's barely around with how much she's working, Gabe would be happy if I were gone. I glace over at my arm where there were pale, jagged lines from last summer, some were my own work, some were from the empty, broken bottles he'd thrown at me. It's not like school was any better, they just kept it all hidden, they don't even fucking care, they just do it to make you think they do. They care just as much as every other school that kicked me out, they'd be happy it's one less person to be responsible for. I grab a knife I had hidden in the back of a drawer, I pull it across my wrist, letting the stinging pain take over me. Again, I wanted to feel the pain, again, I could fucking help it. Mom would be disappointed, but I can't keep fucking living like this. I hate my self, I hate my school and I just hate my fucking life. I hear the rattle of the lock, fuck, I needed to cover this up. It has to be mom, Gabe wouldn't let me out so quickly.
"Percy I'm home; for God's sake Gabriel you are not allowed to lock my son in his room! Remember I'm the one paying for th-... I'll talk to you later."
"S-sorry." I didn't know what to do, but for once, I let myself cry, for the first time since boarding school, first time since Gabe, first time since my life started going to shit.
Oh if only I knew what life going to shit was back then, Percy thought to himself. "Well... there were other reasons, I was bullied pretty badly for years and I didn't have very any friends before meeting Grover."
"You were eleven, and wanted to die?"
"It seemed easier than living at the time, but please trust me, it's worth living, things will start to look up."
"How- how did you stop?"
"My mom helped a lot, but I did have to go to therapy for a year after that."
"Did you ever do it after that?"
"Yeah, I only stopped because I knew my friends would die if I couldn't save them."
"But... why did you do it? Your life.. it was far from perfect, sure, but you're the Percy Jackson, most powerful demigod at camp half-blood, you're..."
"I thought I killed Annabeth."
"Was... that when I was there? With Bianca?"
"Yeah..., Nico the point of this, it doesn't make you any weaker, I know your life's been hard, but you'll always be worth saving. You might think that no one cares, but people care, and people will notice when you're gone, think of every life you've touched."
"Tell me about Luke."
"What?"
"Luke Castellan, tell me about him."
"He was a hero, taken advantage of by a titan yet people say he was evil because he didn't like he deadbeat dad. He was right about the fact-"
"-Before that. When you first met him, you loved him... didn't you? Tell me about the time before the prophecy."
"He- he was amazing, most talented swordsman I ever knew, incredible teacher, kind of every at camp, and he was one of the first people, ever who didn't give me shit from the day we met and yes I-I loved him. That's why I could never blame him for anything he did, not a second of it."
"Did he know?"
"I barely knew myself, but I think he did."
"Thank you for telling me, and... saying you would... help."
"Nico, course I would, you're like my brother." He pulled the younger boy into a hug, he heard him whisper something in italien before walking off. It sounded sort of sad, but Percy couldn't even remotely guess what the words meant.

Perfect Match -16
You don't know when you lost consciousness, but you're woken up to soft tapping on your arm. Mike is trying hard not to jar your body, because he knows you're in pain. Even the slightest movement triggers a pounding in your head & sets your chest on fire. "Y/N? Y/N? I did it. I did exactly what you told me to do," Mike whispers.
You can barely open your eyes, "Mike?"
"Yea, Bill will be here soon. He'll come for you here. Your dad made the follow-up call and they left to meet up with your grandfather. He has no idea Bill will know it's a trap. It'll be easier to break in with most of the guys gone."
"You did good. Real good." Speaking those few words bring on a coughing fit. The pain alone makes you see stars, but the amount of blood that comes up scares you.
"Y/N??" Mike kneels down next to you. "Your...there's blood." You start to softly cry. You feel it. Internal bleeding. This just confirms it.
The door opens behind Mike, "What the fuck is going on here?"
"Get your hands off me! You pervert!" You try to muster up as much anger as you can. Mike has a look of shock & fear.
He turns to see the leer on Arthur's face and he catches on. Getting to his feet, "Shut the fuck up! Don't flatter yourself. You look like shit!" He pulls it off with just a slight waver in his voice.
"Look at you, little gangster. I ain't stopping you. Go ahead." Arthur walks further into the room.
"No way. I'm not messing with her while you watch, you sick fuck!""
Shoving Mike back, "Then get outta my way so I can have some fun."
"Dude, I'm not sure we should be doing this. Paulo gave us clear instructions. We aren't supposed to touch her. Him and Mr. Luciano will be back soon."
"Fuck them. She killed my brother!" Arthur takes out a knife & pulls your body closer to him. You scream in pain, thanking the darkness that begins to overtake you. You don't want to be conscious for what Arthur has in mind. But with a sharp slap cross the cheek, it drags you back to the present, "Don't pass out yet, bitch. I have big plans for you."
*****
Micro stayed behind to coordinate the attack on the house and to monitor the feeds to keep Billy & the team safe. Using the equipment Micro had, he was able to monitor live feeds from the site. Using the earpieces, Billy reminded everyone of their orders. "We shoot to kill. The only people in that house that doesn't get a bullet is Y/N & Mike. If she says he's innocent, I'll believe her. I can always kill him at a later date if he's lying to me. Understood?"
The house is easily found, the tiara is sitting on a hedge against the house. Billy has Frank & a couple of your grandfather's men with him. Your grandfather insisted on coming along, but agreed to stay with the cars until the house was secure. Micro was able to get old maps to the house, so we had the layout, but he also hacked into government satellite that can use infrared to determine how many people are inside & where. The plan of attack has been memorized. Billy is methodical on his missions.
As they are making their way to the house to get into position, Micro's voice comes over the communication device. "Fuck, Russo. You need to go now! The infrared reading for Y/N shows her temperature is flickering into a dangerously low zone. Plus, there is some asshole towering over her in a position that does not look appropriate."
So much for methodical, Bill rushes the door & kicks it open. Listening to the instructions in their ear, the team trusts Micro to guide them through the house.
Bill gets to your room, the door is open & he enters to see a gangly man being tossed across the room. Mike. Arthur is between your thighs digging through the layers of your wedding dress trying to get at you. Arthur hears Bill enter & picks up his knife. He recognizes immediately who he is & plunges the knife in your abdomen. Your scream matches the one torn from Bill's throat. Bill squeezes the trigger. Even through the red haze of fury clouding Bill's vision, his hand doesn't waver and his aim is true. The bullet leaves the gun & hits precisely in the center of Arthur's forehead.
Bill falls to his knees by your side. "Micro! Get that fucking ambulance in here now! She's dying. Oh, fuck...I can't lose her. She can't die!" Billy wants to touch you, to cradle you so that you know he's there, but not one part of you doesn't look damaged. Bill lets the others secure the room & the house & he lays on the floor curled up next to you, so you know he's there. That he came for you. He traces his fingertips against parts of your skin that isn't bruised or bloody. "Angel, I love you. Please don't leave me." he whispers into your ear before pressing his lips to your cold, cracked lips.
His eyes trail to the knife sticking out of you and he want to pull it out, but he knows he can't or you'll bleed out faster. His tears fall on your face as he watches helplessly as your breathing slows to a stop.
Before he can register what's happening, Frank has his arms wrapped around Billy, pulling him away. The paramedics arrived and immediately start working on you. They are able to stabilize you enough to move you. "We need to get her to the hospital straight away. We also need to contact her next of kin, as they will probably need permission for surgery."
"I'm her fiance. Today should have been our wedding day. Can I come in the ambulance, please?" Billy asks, unable to hide the desperation in his voice.
"Of course. I'm sorry to hear that, but unfortunately you are not legally her next of kin. What about her parents?"
Billy didn't even realize your grandfather was in the room. "They are not available or able to give consent. I am her grandfather. I have document proving I am her legal next of kin. I can get you it if needed." Billy looks at him in confusion, but with a subtle shake of his head, Billy remains silent, watching Enzo text his on-call forger. Bill knew that whatever documents needed will no doubt be at the hospital before they get there.
You're loaded on to the ambulance and Bill is quick to follow, but quickly remembers something. "Frank, get Mike over & look after him! Make sure no harm comes to him. Bring him to the hospital, ok?" Frank nods in confirmation before heading back towards the house to find him.
Bill straps himself into the ambulance, holding your hand. He spends the whole trip talking to you, telling you all about what you should have been doing right now. You both would be married, but not to worry because as soon as you're the slightest bit better, he'll be marrying his girl. That you needed to get better because there's a kitten named Ginger that needed you. That he needed you. It was like Billy had moved through life in black and white. Until he met You You brought color to his world. He doesn't want to go through it without you.

Yes yes yes. And not only this but he would have been 22 when Forest Life came out. Which means he was listening to Trees. Hold on this needs a bigger analysis than I imagined cause Trees is SUCH a Gallavich song.
This is the song for anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about:
LISTEN TO THOSE LYRICS IT'S LIKE A PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF GALLAVICH:
"Slept in your room with your friends on the inside"
Two interpretations of this: 1) Season 4 when Mickey slept in Ian's room with all of his brothers inside because Terry was in prison and he wanted to spend as much time with Ian as he possibly could before he came back and 2) That first night when they sleep in their new apartment on the West side and Mickey can't sleep cause it doesn't really feel like his room and his bed you know
Which brings me to my next point:
"Needed some air so I slept on the outside"
When Mickey leaves their apartment on the West side and goes to sleep in the Gallagher house, which is in ruins but it feels like home, it feels like there he can be himself and breathe
"Down by the couch with your boyfriend I need this, the smell of his hair and the taste of his lips "
Again all those nights Mickey spent on the floor cause he wanted to be with Ian, just exist in the same space as him. He missed everything about him when he was gone, the smell of his hair and the taste of his lips, and he wasn't letting go when he came back. Sleeping on the floor is a small price to pay to be this close to the person you love.
"I hide in the closet but I'm not a faggot"
Everything about Mickey's storyline up until he came out SCREAMS this lyric. He couldn't admit that he was gay even to HIMSELF. And even when he came out he was so adamant about not fitting to some stupid gay stereotype because he didn't want people treating him like Terry treated him. This one speaks for itself actually.
"My friends never found out, my mom was a Christian"
This one applies a little less than the others but it still portrays the angst of being closeted in a place like this you know? And I do think the friends Ian and Mickey had in like high school never did find out about their relationship.
"My dad is an alchie, I bet that he kills me"
Oh this one hits the spot exactly. The alchie part applies to Frank and somewhat to Terry and the second part. Holy fuck. Chills. Mickey mentioned it in season 2 episode 8 that if his dad ever found out about him and Ian he would have killed him. And he was right. Terry tried to murder him multiple times throughout the show for being gay. He beat him up, he pistol whipped him, he had him raped at gunpoint, he shot at him after the wedding. He killed his soul and crushed his spirit a million times.
"I don't know how God thinks but god, do you love me?"
This one represents Ian's gay Jesus ark. After Mickey left, Ian had a great internal battle regarding religion. Granted a good chunk of it was due to him being manic, but I believe he had actual theological questions and that is very clearly visible when he thinks The Shim stopped talking to him. Also that was the question that was raised after everything that went down in season 8. All those kids forced to go to conversion therapy, being told how their existence is immoral and they will burn in hell if they don't change. So yeah we don't know how God thinks but does he love us?
"She said I need a certain satisfaction kind, it's something you could never give to my type"
This could also be interpreted in many ways. This could be Mandy to Ian or Svetlana to Mickey or maybe even Ian to Mickey(if you replace the she with he) right before he came out cause he just wanted more than he was willing to give at the time.
"Just burn my pants, I'm such a freak, a fucking faggot that never sees"
This is both Ian and Mickey at times but it's much more relatable to Mickey's situation. Especially those first few episodes of season 4 where he tried so hard to deny how much he missed Ian but he failed so miserably. This one specifically reminds the scene where he fucks that random redhead in the Alibi bathroom and you can see his face is full of remorse, sadness and self pity.
Anyway, as soon as I saw this post I needed to analyse trees because ever since I heard it for the first time it's been brewing inside of me. Please give me more interpretations I fucking love relating songs to characters.
Mickey was 19 when the album beachboy came out.
So, in conclusion, mickey was listening to this.

Old Face | Alex Mason x Reader
A/N: This kind of ending isn't in the COD game.
"David? You're alive." you saw David crossing the street. "My beautiful child is alive."
"It was a tough one I could tell you that. Hey auntie." he hugs you tightly. "Going to visit the old man?"
"Mhmm, I bought him fruits, cigarettes and something to read, even if I know he will throw that in trash."
"Oh I know what would he say:'It was much worthy to buy these cigarettes than those books' and that would be his first famous line."
"Oh no, that would be his second. His first line would be:' You can't kill me." you both chuckled at Woods' lines.
___________
You knew Woods from the old days. Being on the field together and that's how you met Alex. The Trio on the field. You remember the day when David came on this world and when Alex gave you David in your arms and that was the first time you felt connection with them especially with Alex. After few years his wife died and he asked you to move in with them to take care of David. As the time passed you became closer to each other and your friendship turned into romance, but you acted that you're just friends in front of David. You couldn't break his heart after death of his mother. When Alex and David were outside climbing the tree, you were inside the house washing the dishes when you hear the helicopter landing. You rushed out hearing David telling: "You promised you won't go." and after Alex told him it was about Frank, your heart ached when David insulted his own father by telling him he is leaving like he left his sick mother alone at house.
When Woods and David came back without Alex, you teared apart. Only thing what was on your mind at that moment is how will you with help of Frank raise that child. And now that child that is standing in front of you is a grow up man, looking just like his father, but better than him. He never put his job in front of his family, and that was the difference between them.
__________
You two came to the guard and waited to let you in. "David Mason and Y/N L/N for Frank Woods." which guard answered "Another Mason?"
"Shit! Secure the building. Y/N stay behind me."
"Heey kid. Y/N come in. I want to introduce you to someone. Al this is Dave-" Frank said while you were looking in somehow familiar face
"How're you doing?"
"Dave this is your dad." Now you understand where do you know him.
"Dad...What the fuck?" He was confused, you were too. After all these years he didn't even tried to contact you, but while they were talkin you understand why. When Alex finished he turned to you smiling like never before.
"Y/N... You're still the same, beautiful as always."
"Al, Dave doesn't know." you whispered to him, reminding him that you didn't tell David about them.
"Oh, don't worry I know from the day you moved in that you two were dating. I just pretended that I didn't know and I called you auntie just so you won't have suspicion. In fact I am glad that I have a mother like you by my side, because you had faith in me when no one did and you gave me advice and still respected choices I made. So without further delay, I will leave you two alone."
David went after Frank to smoke together while you two were in each other embrace. After all these years your love towards each other didn't disappear. It just became stronger.
"I'm sorry for breaking your heart. Everytime when I see you in front of that grave crying, it hurts."
"Hey it's all behind us now, isn't it? I'm glad that you came back from wherever you were."
"But I came older..." You chuckled. Before you couldn't even imagine how would he look like when he gets older, but know, that gray hair, all those wrinkles were the most beautiful things on him. You cupped his face and kissed his nose making him smile at you.
"It doesn't matter to me. All that matters is that you're still alive and that we're together again. And just so you know, I love when you smile. It warms up the mood."

Do you have any more autism child stories?
i have so many, most either involve me genuinely believing im about to be killed as a consequence of doing something really batshit autistic or just being a huge bully and asshole in middle school (but like, in an autistic dipshit way). but the first two that comes to mind that's sorta on par with the cars post in terms of like, clusterfuck, is when this kid in my like elementary grade class didnt show up to school one day. turns out his dad passed away in a car accident, and so we were asked to make cards for him. i loooved to draw the stupid paul frank monkey
remember this thing? i would doodle it everwhere. so when it came time to do our cards, i put three of these things on the card, doing the 'see/hear/speak no evil' poses, and on the inside i think it just said like 'sorry your dad died </3' or something completely tone deaf. his best friend, who i had a huge crush on, stopped me and was like. no way in hell youre giving that to my best friend. his dad DIED. i don't remember if i turned it in to the teacher or not, but i do remember that i was really mad about it, and didn't understand what i did wrong, so come the end of the day, when we had to pick up and stack our chairs, i picked mine up and rammed it into him, ripping a hole in the ass of his pants. and for some reason, i didn't get in trouble. i never did despite like physically aggressing kids in front of teachers all the time, because i was smart and shy and i think they must've assumed i was just defending myself? not true at all. anyways, this second part isn't directly related, but they happened within days of each other and so i assumed it was like punishment for my actions: my mom left some country crock lemonade powder out on the kitchen counter one day, and i took a huge scoop and ate it raw right before she walked into the room and said 'oh yeah, don't use that lemonade powder because i poured paint thinner in it.' and then walked out. and i like. yknow i was like. tails gets trolled horrified face! my dad was always joking about paint thinner related deaths, so i KNEW, i knew if i had ingested it i was done for, but i didn't really understand how long it would take, or how i would feel because i was too little to think about these things critically. so i assumed i was going to die, but i was too shy/sad/embarassed to say anything about it, and for the rest of the week i was like writing out my own eulogy, last will and testament, my last rights etc. and i had this little magic 8 ball toy from mcdonalds-- it might not've been a magic 8 ball, bc i remember it being both dexter's lab themed and also lion king themed...but regardless, it was something that answered 'yes/no/maybe/try again later' when shook or spun or whatever. and i kept referring to it like it was Gd's way of speaking to me, trying to figure out when i was going to finally hit the bucket. i was my name is earling everyone too, and they took notice bc i would leave like little chocolates at my parents bedroom door like a cat leaves a dead bird for its owner, and when i they finally beat what was wrong out of me, my mom LAUGHED! at me being so absurd. like i didn't think i was going to fucking die for a solid week as punishment for shoving a chair leg up another kid's ass, for trying to prevent me from mocking his dad's death.

Kin: Season 1, Episode 7, Part 2
I’m finally back with part 2 of the episode 7 recap for the first season of Kin. In part 1: Eric got bad news from his lawyer while Amanda recruited her own; Eamon sicced Con and Mini Michael on every Kinsella ally in a bid to root out his drugs; Michael got a dressing down from Anna’s social worker; Birdy urged Frank to get himself together and (unintentionally) scared the pants off Nikki; and Michael was so supportive of Amanda she instigated a smooch, which Jimmy immediately interrupted with news about their bad dad.
See the masterlist here.
Blah blah blah, these recaps have spoilers THE SEASON IS ALMOST OVER. THE END IS NIGH.
Who's ready for a hug?
We pick up where we left off, with Michael fleeing after Jimmy asks permission to visit their dad. In part 1 of this recap, I assumed Jimmy was being a good brother, because Jimmy is a giant mushball and very transparent. However, after Michael makes his awkward exit, Jimmy sits down immediately for a heart to heart with Amanda. It’s almost like he wanted to clear Michael out of there. Very curious. Then the scene ends with Michael looking like this:
Whether that’s regret he just made out of his brother’s wife, general upset at the mention of his abusive dad or something else, I do not know.
Jimmy takes a seat and starts to pour himself a drink, while Amanda looks as ready to flee as Michael. Jimmy talks her into sticking around for one drink.
Jimmy: I don’t take you for granted, you know. In case that’s what you think.
Ummmmm, you don’t get to decide that, Jimmy. Also, really? You absolutely do. Amanda looks dubious. But Jimmy’s trying to make a point here, that he loves and appreciates Amanda, even though he’s terrible at showing it. Amanda’s sincerely touched. I am suspicious of the timing of this declaration but I also love Jimmy-the-softy.
At the jail in protective custody, Eric gets heckled by the other prisoners about how quickly he’ll be killed once he’s sent to prison and released to the general population. I slightly question whether this is really happening or if he’s imagining these voices. It’s good either way.
At the compound the next morning, Amanda wakes Jimmy to ask how much money they have on hand. She’s off to bribe Noel-the-dead-car-guy’s wife, Jenny. That’s certainly a plan. She goes to the school where Jenny does janitorial work and offers her money for her testimony.
I’m not wild about this plan but I do like how Amanda sells it. Help or don’t help, get some cash for your kids or not. Amanda’s done apologizing for the things she’s done to protect her family.
Back at the jail, Nikki shows up to see Eric. Seems she took that talk with Birdy to heart and has decided she’s not thrilled about spending her youth waiting on Eric to get out of jail.
She goes to the meeting room where Eric is waiting and pleased as punch to see her, a stark contrast to her chilly demeanor. She gives him a quick update- the tanning salon was raided, Frank’s sad about Dotser, Amanda’s probably screwed, and Frank is going to talk to Bren on Eric’s behalf. Then she gets to the root of the matter: Eric’s fuck up could put him away for 10 years. He assures her he’ll be fine- no trouble thinking of himself- but Nikki wants him to think about her for once. What the hell is she supposed to do while he’s in jail for ten years? What would he do, if it was her going inside? He tries to appease her but they both know the answer to that. Nikki leaves and Eric makes one of those sweet, vulnerable faces that inspire me to give him more and more chances he probably doesn’t deserve.
At Anthony’s school, Con Doyle shows up and threatens him. He tells Anthony to tell Amanda that Eamon wants his drugs or he’ll burn Anthony alive. Not cool, Con.
Back at the dealership, Jenny is throwing her dead husband under the bus. For 500K she’s willing to tell Amanda’s new lawyer that Noel was the mastermind behind the money laundering and Amanda knew nothing of it. The lawyer calls BS immediately and points out how illegal lying about all this is, but Amanda promises her Jenny will be better prepared by the time the police get involved. They’re still meeting when Amanda’s phone rings; it’s Anthony freaking out about Con’s visit. Amanda tells him to find a teacher and stay with them until she can come to get him.
Elsewhere in Dublin, Frank and Jimmy arrive at the prison to chat with Bren.
Meanwhile at the compound, Anna swings by to see Michael. This is likely her first visit to this house since her mother was murdered there, which is pretty intense. They stand around drinking juice together awkwardly before Michael tells Anna about the visit from the social worker and the court order. That means little to Anna. She wants to see her dad, she doesn’t care about all his family’s bullshit.
Michael just wants to keep her safe, but maybe then he shouldn’t have come back into her life in the first place. She storms off. Michael looks upset but resigned.
At the prison, Frank and Jimmy wait for Bren. Frank looks like a kid waiting outside the principal’s office.
It’s similar to how he looked when Eamon was driving him to get the blood money from Caolan Moore.
Bren’s bummed Birdy’s not there, that he got stuck with these two idiots instead. He immediately starts insulting Frank’s terrible leadership skills. Jimmy tries to explain the circumstances surrounding killing Caolan Moore but Bren is not interested. He regrets not leaving Birdy in charge. Frank tries to defend himself but that only pisses Bren off more. Bren makes it clear that if anyone had gone against his word when he was in charge he would have killed them, family or not. I believe it. Then he points out Frank’s real problem- he’s never gotten his hands dirty (“not like Michael”) and everyone knows it.
Bren calls Frank a windy cunt who looks like a hairdresser. As my mom would say, oh, he’s mean. He gets in Frank’s face and Frank full-body flinches away. Jimmy looks like this the whole time. Oh, poor Jimmy.
Bren won't help Eric. He’s not interested in messing up his parole for that idiot. Before he leaves, he tells Jimmy to bring Michael next time. Hmmmm.
Birdy waits in Eamon’s hotel’s parking garage. He sees her, grabs his driver’s gun and jumps out of the car and into Birdy’s space. They are both incredibly intense. Birdy is 100 times more intimidating than Frank’s ever been. She taunts Eamon while he points a gun at her face.
Looks like they’re past the point of negotiating. He tells her all the Kinsellas are fair game now and storms off.
On her way home from Michael’s, Anna is grabbed by three men, including Mini Michael. RE: MM, I know he’s just doing his job (kidnapping, attempted assassination) but they’re gonna need to kill him eventually. The three guys try to force Anna into the trunk of a car. It’s frightening. Some dude stops his car and yells at them to leave her alone.
Good on him. Anna escapes and runs back toward Michael’s.
At the compound, Michael notices Birdy’s arrived home. He checks to see how things went and sees the bruise on her face from Eamon’s gun. So, not well. He’s pretty pissed.
They’re still talking things over when Anna comes running. She tells them about the attempted abduction and Michael pulls her into a hug, the first instigated by him the entire series, I think. My heart grows ten sizes, though it would have been nice to see without a kidnapping attempt preceding it.
He promises to sort things out and we know what that means. Someone’s gotta die.
Amanda races to Anthony’s school, like a gangster just threatened to burn him alive. Poor Anthony. He tells Amanda about Con’s threat and Amanda grabs him like a life preserver. Their scene closes on her making this face and, yeah, somebody’s dying.
At the prison, Jimmy and Frank are making their way to their car. Some guy looks at Frank and Frank freaks out and starts beating him with his motorcycle helmet. It’s pretty vicious. Bren did such a thorough job demeaning and belittling him, Frank has to get his feeling of control back somehow. Jimmy is horrified by this little display of frustrated compensatory impotence and pulls him away. FYI, Frank’s a dick.
This slow watch for the recaps has not been kind to Frank. He’s such a useless bully. I’m looking for a touch more nuance from him and his sexuality. This is a hypermasculine environment where even Michael, who’s considered a threat by everyone and genuinely doesn’t seem to give a shit, feels the need to hide his weaknesses. Frank’s sexuality is referenced often, all the references are derogatory. It’s connected to his personal deficits (many of which ride the line of gay stereotypes) AND Eric’s. I can’t decide how I feel about it. I don’t really feel bad for him anymore, though.
Back at the Garda station, Eric gets cuffed up for his transfer to the prison. Don’t feel bad for him either.
At the compound, Michael waits outside for Amanda to get home with Anthony. Once Anthony’s shuffled off into the house, they compare stories of their children’s recent trauma. They’re obviously both ready to plan a murder. Their scene is cut with one of Eamon walking into his lap pool, which gave me major Caesar vibes for some reason (watch Rome, Ciarán Hinds is amazing).
The episode ends with Amanda insisting it’s time to end things. How? “Chop the head off the snake.” Finally! Episode 8 starts here!

::: Los Angeles, October 14th, 2010 :::
Mikey ate his breakfast alone, sitting at the kitchen island. He was thinking about the daily schedule, the band's upcoming tour, and clearly, the severe problems in his marriage, the one subject he kept trying to avoid.
His wife was still asleep, and he didn't want to be around when she woke up. He knew it only meant another fight. Whenever they were in the same room, it always meant an argument, and Mikey was tired of it all.
It was clear they had to get a divorce, but neither of them had brought it up just yet.
He and Alicia had grown apart in the latest months. It was hard with him touring for so long and his wife staying home, persuading her own future in the music industry. And after so much time apart, they were both tired of trying. It just wasn't working anymore.
Frank and Ray were staying at the same hotel. They drove together to the practice studio, doing their best to agree on their ideas about Joey. But they weren't really on the same page at all.
- "Just don't be an ass, ok?"- Ray said when he parked outside the studio, and Frank immediately lit a cigarette.
- "Yeah, whatever,"- Toro got out of the car and closed the door, staring at his friend leaning against the wall to smoke alone- "I'll be right there."
Iero grabbed his phone and read the messages in a vague attempt to think of anything else. But that didn't help at all; Joey parked her car just before him that very second.
- "Shit!"- the two of them said at the same time. Frank put on his dark sunglasses, and Joey grabbed all her things from the passenger seat.
- "I can't catch a break!"- she argued as she opened the door and decided to get over the horribly awkward moment- Hey!- she smiled and waved as Frank nodded- "How are you?"
- "Good, you?"
- "Good..."- and it was still awkward- "So, thank you for inviting me again,"- and Frank nodded again, not saying a word- "I'll... head... inside then."
Joey tried to smile, but it was too uncomfortable to bear. So she ran away.
- "Did you catch the game last night?"- Mikey asked as he sipped his coffee, while Ray grabbed a guitar and started tuning it.
- "No, I played video games until late."
- "What are you playing?"
- "Red dead redemption"
- "Cool, and Christa?"
- "She's back home with her parents,"- Ray kept turning the guitar and never noticed Mikey's sad face- "And Alicia?"
- "She's home. She was sleeping when I left."
- "Is everything ok?"
- "Yeah"- and again, Ray was so concentrated on his guitar, he didn't catch a glimpse of Mikey's sad look.
- "Hello"- Joey walked in, and the two guys smiled- "Am I too early?"
- "No, you are just on time,"- Ray stood up and grabbed a cup of coffee- "I got you this."
- "Oh! thank you!"- Joey was surprised by the gesture- "You shouldn't have."
- "I owed you,"- Toro kind of blushed as Joey held the cup and took a sip.
- "Black, no sugar. How did you know?"
- "I didn't know if you liked cream, and I got a lot of sugar on a side"- Ray quickly answered and showed Joey a bunch of sugar bags on a tray.
- "You nailed it."
- "Hey"- Mikey kinda whispered in a low voice- "I'm sorry, I thought you were getting us coffee and stuff yesterday."
- "Dude, it's ok, don't worry,"- Joey smiled and kept drinking her coffee- "Now I know if I get the job, I can get you black coffee with almond milk to brighten your day"- and he chuckled.
- "And thank you for coming over again."
- "My pleasure,"- Joey answered and stayed quiet looking at the two guys- "So... I saw Frank outside."
- "Yeah, he was smoking, and Gerard should be right here by now,"- Mikey took a look at his wristwatch. It was almost noon, and he knew his brother was going to be late.
Gerard was driving and smoking, trying to devise anything to avoid going to the studio and doing another audition with that woman. He didn't want to. Why? Way really didn't know. It was something inside of him that made him feel like he should stay the fuck away from her 'cos something terrible might happen. And he didn't want to find out what it was.
- "Hey"- Frank waved at Gee when he walked out of his car- "You are late."
- "Yeah, I didn't want to come,"- and Iero chuckled- "What are you doing here?"
- "I didn't want to get in just yet."
- "Is she here already?"
- "Yeah... she got here all happy like fifteen minutes ago."
- "Fine... let's get this over with,"- Gerard walked in and did his best not to look annoyed, which was virtually impossible, 'cos he couldn't stop frowning.
As soon as they walked into the studio, the image was Joey, Ray, and Mikey laughing like they were already best friends. And that got Gerard even more upset, if possible, and because of no reason at all.
- "Hey!"- Mikey stood up and hugged his brother.
- "Hi, nice to see you again,"- Joey reached out for Gerard's hand and smiled to do the same with Frank.
- "Thank you for coming,"- he whispered and cleared his throat. The drummer looked around at the band and started the speech she had prepared in her mind the whole morning.
- "Guys, I just wanted to clear the air here. If you don't want me to do this and you just called 'cos Tucker asked you to, there's no need to go through all this shit. I can go home, no hard feelings or anything"- and the band stayed quiet. Ray looked at Frank and waited for his words.
- "Joey, we just... why did you call Tucker? that was so rude!"
- "First of all, I didn't call him, he called and annoyed me for ten minutes before I told him what happened. And second, you were rude, you barely looked at me, you didn't even pay attention to what I did, and you clearly made up an interview to ask me to leave."
Joey directed those words looking right into Gerard's eyes and just spit the words, knowing that wasn't really gonna help her get the job.
- "Tucker didn't really lie, guys,"- Mikey said and tried to ease the mood- "You were rude at her, and I'm sorry to tell you, she's the best we've had so far."
- "Do you honestly think we can work together after what happened with Tucker?"- Gerard asked her, and she shrugged.
- "If you deal with the fact you were rude to me, then yeah, I've got no problem with it,"- and Frank huffed at that answer.
- "You made us look bad in front of a friend."
- "No, you looked bad in front of me, and when Tucker asked how had it been, were you expecting me to lie and tell him it was awesome? come on!"- Joey frowned, knowing that ship had sailed already- "This shit is high school all over again!"
- "I feel the same!"- Ray said and stood up- "Ok, let's get this straight, you two were assholes! And that's the main problem here! if she did or did not call Tucker to tell him about it, that's not the point!"
- "But dude!"-Frank tied to argue, but Ray stopped him.
- "No! this is our job, and we have to be professional. So now you are gonna be a grown-up, and you are going to apologize for being an asshole with no reason to her, 'cos she just came to apply for a job, ok?"
Ray looked more like a dad than like a band colleague at that point.
- "Sorry, Joey"- Frank whispered and looked down at his shoes. Ray looked at Gerard and raised an eyebrow
- "I'm sorry I was a jerk"- he mumbled
- "And I'm sorry I told Tucker you were assholes. He was really excited about the audition, and he was just trying to help me out. It clearly didn't work out, but he meant good."
Joey tried to be as nice as possible, thinking shit had gotten way too bad to even think about playing with this band.
- "Ok, now I'm gonna go so you can continue your drummer hunt."
- "Wait!"- Mikey held her arm and cut her a smile- "You should jam with us for a while."
- "I don't think that's a good idea. This got too complicated. And whether I'm good or not, I don't want this to be awkward for you. You are looking for someone to work with, it's your band, and you should be comfortable with who you choose."- Joey smiled and grabbed her bag- "I just wanted to thank you for apologizing and for caring about what happened. I'm gonna tell Tucker you are all very nice."- she joked, and the band looked at each other.
- "No, really, stay. We didn't ask you to come because of Tucker. We did it because we really want to give your audition another go,"- Frank's word surprised Joey. She wasn't really able to say a word back; she just nodded and smiled.
- "Great!"- Mikey clapped once and grabbed a bunch of papers from his bag- "I printed you some of the sheets of our songs,"- Joey held them and read them
- "Cool"
- "So... wanna warm-up?"
- "I already played two hours before I left the house."- she whispered, embarrassed of her confession- "Sorry, I just have this weird routine. I work out, eat and play in the early morning, just to get me through the day not killing anyone."
And Mikey chuckled. Frank kinda bit his lips to don't smile. He found it funny.
- "Great, then let's set us up,"- Ray smiled and walked to grab his guitar- "We remembered you were left-handed, so Mikey and I rearranged the drum set for you,"- Gerard raised an eyebrow staring at the scene.
- "Why is Ray so nice with her? Is he crushed on that girl? no way! he is a married man! married guys don't have crushes! it is impossible".
Joey read the music sheets and nodded. She had studied most of the songs, and though she had never been a huge fan of the band, she liked it enough to easily follow the tempo of each tune.
Gerard looked at her playing and hated the fact Mikey was right. She kept following each change they were doing and even threw a few herself that worked perfectly. He hated it 'cos she made it fun, and he wanted to hate her. Very childish of him, but yet, that's how he could describe it.
Frank looked at Mikey and then at Ray as they all played "Thank you for the Venom" and knew in his guts this was it. Musically this is what they needed. And also knew it was a shitty situation 'cos he had already made an enormous fuss and didn't really know how to fix it.
- "Shit!"- Ray said as soon as the song ended.
- "Yeah, that was great."- Gerard said and smiled. He knew he couldn't get away with it. Shit worked. And it worked awesomely- "Can we do "Parade"?"
- "Sure, just let me read it first. That's a long one,"- Joey said and grabbed one of the sheets. Mikey walked to his brother and raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to admit it.
- "I hate you."- Gerard whispered.
- "I know, just say it"
- "No"
- "Say it"- Mikey raised an eyebrow and kinda chuckled.
- "You were right. She's good,"- Gerard whispered, and his brother nodded.
- "God damn, I'm right!"
- "Ok, let's do this before I totally forget it..."- Joey said and smiled- "And who's gonna play the G note?"- the whole band stared at her, and she shrugged- "G note, not G spot, don't get scared"- Gerard chuckled, and he hated himself for it- "Come on pervs, let's do this!"
Somehow, Joey felt a little more in place between the guys, probably 'cos being a drummer, she was pretty used to hang out with men, from her teachers to classmates. She used to have girl bands growing up, but she found it easier working with guys professionally.
- "So, lunch?"- Ray asked and left his guitar aside. They had been jamming for over two hours.
- "Nice, I'm starving,"- Mikey did the same and turned to Joey- "Wanna come?"- she froze and looked at the whole band from behind the drums- "We are gonna go grab something to eat."
- "Yeah, then we can continue the practice,"- Gerard added and walked to the door. Joey kept in silence and looked at Mikey, smiling sweetly.
- "Ok... sure."
- "Great!"- Ray smiled- "Come on, are you a fan of Indian food? There's a fantastic place a few blocks from here!"
Frank sighed and walked outside to light a cigarette. He was sure Ray had a thing for Joey, and that upset him, most of all 'cos, just as Gerard had thought, Ray was a married man, and a happily married man, he shouldn't care about Joey that much. He was way into making her feel good. And that made Frank uncomfortable. And most of all, like a jerk for being mean to her in the first place.
- "Hey"- Joey appeared by his side all of a sudden and scared the shit out of him- "Sorry!"
- "I didn't know you were coming behind me."
- "Everybody had to pee. Apparently, they all have a small bladder,"- Frank grinned, lit a cigarette, and offered Joey one- "Thanks, I quit a few years ago."
- "Really? why?"
- "'Cos I stopped breathing... and found out I was asthmatic, which made total sense when I gave it a thought"- Frank nodded.
- "I shouldn't smoke either. My lungs are shit; I'm a bronchitis magnet."
- "I feel you"- Joey opened her backpack and took out her coconut butter hand cream. Frank looked at her and sort of smiled.
- "Do you want some? it's gonna be good to keep those tattoos from washing away"- Frank left the cigarette on his lips and grabbed the cream.
- "You are not even in the band yet, and you are making me use hand cream."
- "Tell you, what if I get the job I'll make sure I'll keep you moisturize every day,"- the young woman winked at him and saw the rest of the band walking towards them. She didn't notice Frank's face, who had turned purple after those words.
Matthew took a look at his clock as he walked outside the set. Joey should be back home by then, so he dialed her number and waited.
- "Hey, Akumu!"- he heard Joey's cheerful voice at the other side of the line and smiled.
- "Hey, Yami! How was it? Did you get the job? were those guys nice to you? are you ok?"
- "You are not gonna believe this, but we talked about it, and I have the feeling things are pretty much clear between us."
- "That's great, dorky! What are you doing now? are you back home?"
- "No, we came to grab something to eat, and then we'll continue rehearsing."
- "So you are still with the band then?"- Gubler was surprised, but happy things were working.
- "Yeah, and how's the reading going?"
- "Good, we've been at it the whole morning, now I'm about to eat something, and then I'll keep reading my lines."
- "Looking like a maniac pointing a fake gun made with your fingers?"
- "Just like any other day"- Matthew made a pause as he kept walking in circles, thinking about his girlfriend hanging somewhere with that band- "Hey, are those guys being nice to you?"
Joey looked back at the table where the band was eating and nodded, knowing her boyfriend couldn't see her.
- "Surprisingly, yes. They are all being very friendly. They apologize for being assholes yesterday."
- "Wow, really?"
- "Yeah, we had a weird deep talk in the morning. I think shit is cool now."
- "I'm glad, Yami."
- "Yeah, I've got the feeling they might actually give me the job."
- "That would be awesome."
- "I know! Anyway, Akumu, I have to go. I gotta do my best to be nice with these guys."
- "Please, don't be too nice. They don't really deserve it,"- Matthew joked, and Joey chuckled.
- "You are right, but mama needs to work."
- "But daddy can take care of you,"- Joey chuckled, making her best to process that information.
- "I love you so much, Gubler, but I can deal with this on my own."
- "I know you can."
- "Thank you."
- "I just wanna help."
- "Your support and love are all the help I need to make it."
- "So, what are we gonna do?"- Mikey asked his brother, and Gerard cleared his throat, looking at Joey talking on the phone on the other side of the diner.
- "I know you want her to stay, guessing Ray is dying to work with her,"- Gerard raised an eyebrow at his friend, and Frank nodded.
- "Yeah, you are way into that chick."
- "No way! I'm just trying to be nice 'cos you've been jerks."
- "Oh, come on!! you've got jizz all over your underwear!"- Frank's comment made Mikey laugh and almost choke with his lunch.
- "Dude, you went too far!"- Ray argued, disgusted- "And no, I don't have a crush on her, I just feel bad you made her so uncomfortable, and I'm trying to make it up for her."
The band looked at him in silence as Mikey kept coughing.
- "Dude, are you ok?"- Joey asked as she sat back at the table- "Do you want some water?"- and she reached out her glass to him, who took it and drank most of it.
- "Thanks"
- "What happened?"- the young woman asked, and Mikey smiled, breathing a little better.
- "We were talking about jizz"- Gerard covered his face with both hands as he heard his brother talking, and Joey laughed, nodding.
- "I'm so happy I was far away from you,"- Joey said and closed her eyes, pretending to be disgusted- "Anyway, Matthew says hi,"- she smiled at the band and continued eating.
- "Is he on set?"- Frank asked, staring at his food.
- "Table reading, tomorrow they start rehearsal and all those things I don't really remember 'cos I love him, but sometimes I don't follow all the steps into the shooting process."
They all smiled and nodded in silence for a moment. Gerard looked at Frank and lift his brows. Iero sighed and nodded.
- "So... do you wanna play with us for the next couple of months?"- Gerard just put out the question and stared directly into Joey's eyes. She looked at him surprised and didn't know what to say- "We have a very long tour, so we have to compromise to make it work."
- "I thought you hated me."
- "I don't hate you, none of us hates you... we just started with the wrong foot, but I think we can make it work,"- Gerard finished his words, nearly whispering. Joey's heart was racing. She couldn't believe she got the job, this was by far the best job Jo had ever have, and she couldn't wait to tell her parents. They were gonna be so proud.
- "I would love to play with you guys, thank you for the offering,"- Joey answered and grinned- "And again, I'm sorry for Tucker and all that shit."
- "Nah, forget it"- Ray quickly replied- "We know you are right for the band right now."
- "But if you are gonna be with us, we have to talk about the legal agreements"- Mikey said- "I hate that part, but we have to talk with our lawyers, do the paperwork."
- "Sure, not a problem."
- "And we are gonna need a tutorial to learn how to fucking spell your last name,"- Frank added and make everybody laugh. He looked at Joey smiling, and it felt like those few seconds were in slow motion, without any reason. Iero knew he was going to remember that particular moment for the rest of his life. He just didn't know why yet.
- "Yeah, what's the problem with your last name? when I called you yesterday, I had to practice it for a half-hour."
- "And you misspelled every single fucking letter in it, sorry"- she said to Ray and took a sip of her coke before she answered- "It's from Iceland, dad's from there. And my mom is from Colombia, which explains Maria Josefina ... I know, weirdest mix ever."
- "Wow, and what the fuck the last name thing?"- Frank asked and finished his food
- "Well, there your last name is defined by your father's name, so my dad's name is Sveinbjörn Sigmundsson"- the whole band stared at her with a blank look on their faces.
- "Sorry, what?"- Frank asked again
- "Sveinbjörn, it's a very common name."
- "Sure! sure it is!"- Iero laughed, and so did Joey.
- "Anyway, over there, your surname is your father's name and, in my case, the noun daughter, in Iceland, dottir, so my last name is Sveinbjörn, my dad's name, plus dottir, get it? Sveinbjörndottir, 'cos I am Sveinbjörn's daughter"- Gerard nodded and asked
- "And if you were a boy?"
- "I would be Sveinbjörnson... what's your dad's name?"
- "Donald"
- "In Iceland, you would be Gerard Donaldson"
- "Shit! my name would suck in Iceland!"- Frank grabbed his head and scratched it- "I would be Frank Frankson!"- and he burst out laughing
- "Dude! you are so lucky you are from Jersey!"- Ray said and turned to Joey- "So Maria Josefina is your mom's heritage and Sveinbjörndottir your father's."
- "Exactly, and that's why Joey is the best way to avoid people getting mistaken with my name."
- "Seems legit"- Gerard said and looked at everybody smiling. He turned to Joey and tried to study her face for a moment. Sure, her skin was paperwhite, and her eyes were slightly green, but she didn't look like the classic island chick you might imagine. Maybe there was too much Colombia on her.
- "What is it?"- she asked him when she found him staring at him.
- "Nothing"- he blushed and finished his coke- "I was just... trying to find any Icelandic feature on you"- she frowned immediately and didn't answer a word, obviously upset- "Sorry..."
Gerard drove back with Mikey. He wanted to avoid Ray being too nice at Joey, 'cos it still bothered him. And Mikey needed to talk about anything random with his brother to keep his mind busy.
- "Hey, maybe we should do something tonight"- Mikey asked his older brother.
- "Like what?"
- "I don't know... wanna go out? Maybe see some bands? Peter told me there are a few cool shows around this week."
- "Yeah, sure, let me ask Lynz if she wants to join us? what about Alicia?"- Mikey looked over the window and cleared his throat.
- "No, she told me she was meeting some friends tonight."
- "Everything ok?"
- "Yeah, it's all ok"- Mikey wasn't even making an effort to sound ok, but Gerard didn't notice- "So, thanks for what you did."
- "What did I do?"
- "You took an executive decision for the band"
- "I hope Frank doesn't kill me"
- "He won't"
- "And I stand by the fact Ray has a crush on her"
- "I don't think so"- Mikey's phone hummed, and he lazily read the text, "I'll stay with my parents tonight." Just what he needed, a confirmation of his lie. His wife was going to be nowhere to be seen that evening.
- "Hey, Lynz asked me to get something for dinner. Wanna grab something with us, and then we can go out?"
- "Sure."
Frank wouldn't stop talking. At some point during lunch, he just stopped trying to hate Joey. He ended up making joke after joke from the minute they got into the rented car until they reached the studio. He was so nice even Ray got worried. But then he thought Frank was probably overcompensating that girl for being such an ass before.
- "Ok so, Tucker ran naked from the studio, got into the car, and drove to get a burger wearing nothing but a cap?"- Joey nearly peed laughing at Frank's story.
- "Yeah!"- he reassured, laughing too- "And the studio was in this basement, and the family of our friend lived upstairs and completely saw him running around mooning everyone"- the drummer couldn't stop laughing, picturing her friend running naked all over.
- "Shitface never told me that story!!"
- "Oh, it's a good one!!!"- Frank chuckled and turned to look at Joey in the backseat- "So why were you touring with him?"
- "'Cos I had an awesome band, and we opened for Thursday for a few dates. I was still in college back then, and Tucker was like my older brother. He taught me a lot and saved me when I was drunk a couple of times, primarily for getting into fights."
Frank smiled and kept looking at Joey for a few seconds, and she cut him a big grin.
- "How come you don't have a band right now?"- Ray asked her and forced Frank to turn around and look at the road.
- "How says I don't?"
- "Do you?"- Joey laughed for a second.
- "No. My last band broke a few months ago, and I've been working on a few projects, but I haven't found people cool enough to share it with,"- Ray and Frank nodded in silence as they parked outside the studio.
- "Ok, kids. Back to work"- Ray said and opened the door. Joey did the same and smiled at Frank when he let her pass before him. She was sure he was extra nice to make up for being such an asshole with her before. And Frank was sure he had to stop being so nice at her 'cos he felt he was about to overstep the line, but he couldn't stop. It was like he stopped hating her to fully endorse a friendship with the girl one minute to the other
- "Get your fucking shit together, Frank."
Around five-thirty, Joey got into her car and sighed. She was exhausted and yet so fucking excited she felt she could run back to her place yelling. She had to wait until she was somewhere safe though, the band could walk out of the studio any minute, and it would be too embarrassing. Embarrassed herself in front of the band's first day working with them was something she wanted to avoid. It was too soon to show her real colors. No need to let them know she was a dork just yet. They had a whole tour to find out.
As she drove back home, she thought of everything that had happened that year. It surely didn't have a great start. Moving to Los Angeles to try to give it a go in music had been hard, really hard. If it hadn't been for her parent's support, she wouldn't have survived. But then she met Matthew, and it felt he could make everything better like magic. On top of that, she now had a real job playing with a huge band. That was a huge reason to celebrate.
- "So, what do you guys think?"- Gerard looked at the band and raised both eyebrows- "Is this shit gonna work?"
- "I don't see why not"- Mikey simply answered and grabbed his phone. Zero news from his wife. Not surprised either- Rehearsal was pretty well
- "No, I mean touring with a girl."
- "Oh, knock it, I thought we had passed that stupid problem,"- the youngest Way looked at brother pretty pissed- "Just grow up!"
- "Aren't you a little too sensitive?"- Gerard frowned and sat back on the couch.
- "No, I'm just tired. I don't wanna hear any more shit about how weird it will be touring with a girl or if Ray has a crush on her."
- "He totally does"- Frank quickly said, chuckling, though he felt slightly out of place saying that considering now he was extra nice with her too, and he didn't have a crush on her.
- "Very mature,"- Ray didn't pay attention to those words and looked at the band- "What we should be doing is preparing the setlist for the tour."
- "Is Brian coming tomorrow?"- Iero asked, walking around looking kind of bored.
- "Yeah, he said so, at ten, I think, to see the venues, schedules, crew. The usual,"- Ray answered and kept typing on his computer- "So, setlist?"- Frank's phone rang, and he walked away immediately.
- "Does anyone remember the name of the movie we watched the other day at my house?"- Gerard asked, looking at the ceiling.
- "The setlist"- Ray repeated.
- "No, it was the Hayao Miyazaki about the little girl."
- "Spirited away"- Ray quickly answered- "Now please! the setlist"
- "Do you think she was tripping?"- Ray looked at Gerard, annoyed, and closed the laptop- "What?"
- "I'm trying to work here, and you are not even listening!"
- "No one is. Why are you blaming me?"
- "Because you are not helping!!"
- "Wanna do the setlist, let's do the fucking setlist"- Gerard grabbed a notebook and a pen and started writing down the name of the songs- "There! A fucking setlist!"
- "What the fuck is your problem?"
- "I have no problem!!"- Gerard kind of shouted.
- "Can you guys please stop yelling?"- Frank asked, annoyed as he turned around, covering the cellphone and giving his bandmate a severe look.
- "Sorry"- Gerard whispered and look down at the sheet of paper.
- "What is going on there?"- Jamia asked her husband.
- "Shit has been kind of tense these last couple of days."
- "Why? preparing the tour?"
- "Yeah"
- "Did you guys find a new drummer?"- Frank sighed and walked outside to smoke a cigarette.
- "Yeah, we signed one today"
- "Great! What's his name?"
- "Joey, with an unpronounceable last name,"- Iero closed his eyes and took a deep breath before he added- "And it's her name... we booked a girl for the tour"- Jamia stayed quiet, processing the information- "She is friends with Tucker, he recommended her, and she is the best drummer we had."
- "Is she nice?"
- "Yeah, and her boyfriend is very nice too,"- Frank knew he had to add the boyfriend factor into the conversation quickly- "She is dating the nerd guy from Criminal Minds."
- "Really? he is hot"
- "I guess... anyway, we've been dealing with the drummer issue most of today, so shit is kind of sensitive."
- "Why? Someone didn't want to work with her?"
- "Well... I didn't"- Frank murmured
- "Why not?"
- "'Cos... I don't know. We've never included a girl in this band."
- "Maybe it's an excellent chance to do something different."
- "Wait, you are not upset we are touring with a girl?"- Frank frowned, not getting his wife's attitude.
- "Why should I?"
- "I don't know? 'cos bitches be crazy?"
- "Franklin Anthony Iero! you take that back!"
- Why are you middle naming me for?"
- "That was sexist!"
- "Sorry, I just thought you were going to be against this whole idea"
- "I think it's cool"
- "Really?"- Frank was in shock- "You are not going to freak out?"
- "No, I'm not going to freak out."
- "Thank you"
- "Besides, she has a really hot boyfriend. Do you think she can introduce him?"
- "Jamia Iero!!"
- "What? It's not like I'm gonna cheat on you. I just wanna stare at him... I bet he is tall"
- "Ok... that's weird for someone who has been a little too sensitive over fans lately,"- Frank joked, but that might have been just a huge mistake.
- "What are you saying? That I'm a psycho about girls around you?"
- "No, no, no honey, it was just a joke"
- "An awful joke"
- "I'm sorry"- Frank took a long drag of his cigarette and sighed- "How are the babies?"
- "Sleeping... I was gonna eat dinner and go to bed too 'cos I'm too fucking tired."
- "You should. Is your mom staying at home with you tonight?"
- "No, Evan is here today. He did some grocery shopping and cooked dinner"
- "He is awesome"
- "Yeah, he is on diaper duty until one, so I better get some rest"
- "Go, honey, talk to you tomorrow, ok?"
- "What are you gonna do tonight?"
- "Drive back to the hotel and play videogames with Ray"
- "Exciting"- Frank chuckled at his wife's words and stubbed out his cigarette.
- "Love you, honey"
- "Love you too"
Jamia was full of it. She hated the idea of Frank touring with a girl, but she knew making a tantrum was worse. They had had too many arguments about female fans already. The last thing she needed was to start a new one. But how was she going to deal with this new drummer? She seemed to be a major threat.
Joey walked into her apartment and jumped around in hyperventilation. She had tried her best to control her emotions all the way back home, but after she closed the door behind her back, there was no way she could stop her excitement.
- "I can't fucking believe this!!"- she yelled and jumped around the place until she finally laid on her bed and hugged a pillow. For the first time in a long time, she didn't feel like a loser. And for the first time ever, she could call her dad and make him proud, giving him the news of her new job.

Song Pairing: Why Am I Like This? - Orla Gartland
--
You could remember the feeling, how it started that night at the bar. Despite the conversations of your new team swirling around you, you felt like a stranger. You didn’t think much of it at first, you just thought you were imagining things. You’ll grow into it, you told yourself.
After exactly a year at the BAU, you still couldn’t decisively say you were part of the family. As cases came and went, you felt the same. An outsider. A guest living with a family. You couldn’t blame them, really. As you should, right? They weren’t like this with any of the other newbies; it was you who intruded.
The last case felt no different. It was a family annihilator, and all you could think about were the victims. Unbeknownst to the team, except Aaron, you knew almost exactly what the family of the victims were going through. Your feelings were taking a toll on you, and everything from the jet ride to heading back to the office was a complete daze. Your mind was somewhere far off in the distance, only snapped back by the soft touch of JJ placing her hand on your shoulder before you could walk through the glass doors.
“Are you coming tonight?” She asked as if you already knew of what was happening tonight.
“Uh, w-what’s tonight?”
“We’re going to-”
“O’keefe’s!” Penelope squealed, running out of her batcave with the clicks of heels following.
“Oh, um-” you hesitated, but you remembered how badly you wanted to be a part of their family, and a drink didn’t sound too bad at the moment, “yeah! Yeah, I’ll just meet you guys there alright? M’gonna just grab some stuff.”
“We’ll see you down there!” Penelope bubbled, before sweeping everyone else into the elevator. You gave a small smile and wave, catching Spencer’s gaze just as the doors shut. Maybe you had learned to hide it well after all these years, but for profilers, they really had no idea what was going on inside your head.
You couldn’t help but glance up at Aaron’s office through the glass doors. Everyday you debated if the BAU was really for you, every day for a year, now. Not knowing if this was a mistake or not, you slipped through the bullpen and made a beeline for his office. Relatively quickly, you found the papers you were looking for after a quick search through his cabinets. You didn’t want to have the conversation with Aaron, but he was the only person on this floor with them. You shoved them in your purse, just in case. In case of what? You didn’t know either.
-
You tried to enjoy yourself, you really did, but your head was just filled to the brim with thoughts you couldn’t bear. The fuzzy, stuffy feeling of the bar would usually help you blend right in, but right now it made you sick. You excused yourself from the table, not like you were part of any of the conversations that were happening anyways, and stepped out.
Through your work blouse and slacks, the October wind nipped at your skin. You opened your purse and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. Your habit started young, smoking being one of the only things that could effectively calm you. Your dad was a smoker, but he really tried his best to stop. He wouldn’t be proud of you for following in his footsteps, but so be it.
Placing the cigarette between your lips and lifting your lighter to the end, you failed to notice someone approaching from behind you.
“6 minutes.”
Startled, you fumbled and dropped your cigarette from your lips and it hit the concrete, causing you to loudly mutter a curse. You whipped around to cuss out whoever made you drop it, but you’re met with the same eyes you saw before the elevator closed.
“Jesus Christ, Spencer. I just lit that!” His expression doesn’t change, so you rummage through your purse pulling out the box of cigarettes once again. “And I know what that means, 6 minutes off my life for every cigarette I light.” Faced towards the street, you tried to light it, but failed. As the wind kept blowing out the tiny flame, you kept trying. “To be frank, 6 minutes isn’t a whole lot of time in the grand scheme of things. It’s like, one less shower. I could live with that I think.”
Still not hearing a reaction from him, you turn his way, naturally. He seems to be finding your purse very interesting, and for a moment you think, is pretty boy gonna rob me?, but you finally realize he can see the bold print title and FBI logo on the papers that you grabbed sticking out from your purse.
“Why?” is all he asked, his voice dripping in devastation. You look up to meet his eyes and there’s a gloss over them that you know too well. “Why would you wanna transfer? The BAU is-”
“-the crown jewel of the FBI. I’ve heard it.” You take the cigarette out of your mouth to reply. Unable to meet his eyes anymore, you fixed your eyes on the street once again, but you minded your voice, careful to not let it crack nor reveal too much, “I can’t explain it, Spencer.”
“I think you can, but you don’t want to.” The hurt in his voice was still evident and you had to wonder, why was it there in the first place? He doesn’t really care, his family’s inside the bar.
You brought the joint back to your lips and tried to light it one last time, and you successfully did so, inhaling the smoke and letting it encase your lungs like a blanket. “It’s just-” A long pause lingers in the air before you come to your senses, removing the cigarette from your lips. Blowing out a cloud, the wind carried the gray smoke down the sidewalk, with your eyes trailing. “You know what? No, nevermind. It’s nothing, Spence. I might not even transfer.”
“You wouldn’t grab the papers unless you were seriously considering it, Y/N,” he huffed, intent on finding out the real reason, “Come on, you were gonna have to tell us at some point. Why not start small? Why are you leaving us?” You were getting frustrated from the simple fact that he was right, and suddenly you were very sick of the cigarette you were holding.
“Fine Spencer, if you wanna know so goddamn bad then I’ll just tell you! I just- the BAU isn’t for me! And it’s not the job, it’s- it’s you! It’s all of you! I can’t be in the same room with all of you for anything other than a debriefing without feeling like I don’t fucking belong! You guys are a family, and I still feel like it’s my day one. If you guys can do this job so well without me, then why shouldn’t- why should I even be here?” You didn’t know when the tear slipped, but they just kept coming, and you were over this cigarette, throwing it to the ground and stomping on it a little too hard.
There was a silence. A cold, heavy silence, filled with nothing more than the gentle breeze, a couple cars passing in the distance and leaves falling. You suppressed your sobs as much as you could and wiped your face repeatedly.
Oh god, you thought, did I really just say that? Fuck, fuck, shit, why am I like this-
“If I asked you to stay,” His voice was soft- you knew your response wasn’t the one he was expecting. All you could do was glance at him, not knowing where he was going with this. “Would you?”
“What’re you talking about?” The words were a whisper, you wouldn’t be surprised if he thought it was just the wind. You genuinely didn’t understand what he meant, but in your head, you had already answered his question.
“Y/N, I--I just wanna talk, okay? Can you listen? Is that alright?” His voice was comforting, and with the way you were feeling, it was music to your ears. It reminded you of the way he spoke to children, but you were just too damn exhausted to call him out on it; so you nodded, but you kept your eyes on the street in front of you, watching a taxi pass by.
“You know, when I first asked you ‘why?’ a few minutes ago, when I was saying that the BAU was the crown jewel of the FBI? Well, that wasn’t what I was going to say at all. I was gonna say that the BAU is where you belong, Y/N. We don’t only want you to stay, we need you to stay. You were the one who talked down that unsub today. You can defend yourself better than almost any of us. You treat us like family, with the coffee every Wednesday and checking on all of us regularly. We notice these things, Y/N. Do you? Because it’s almost like it’s second nature to you.”
You had to take several deep breaths before you could gather yourself enough to respond; you closed your eyes as you spoke. “Do you know why I so badly want to be so close to all of you? My- my parents were both killed by- by a sociopath. I was 15. I started smoking then. My aunt took me in and I lived with my cousins. They were closer to each other than to me, though. I- I don’t know, I had a family, I guess. I mean, my aunt and her two daughters were my family, but- I don’t know, I’m not making sense.”
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I didn’t know that at all, I thought they were your sisters. I get it. Well, I don’t, but I know what you’re trying to say. You didn’t have one as a teenager, but you have one now. Everyone inside of that bar thinks of you as their family. I know you don’t see it, but I can assure you that they do.”
You forgot your eyes were closed. They opened to the touch of Spencer’s hand on your arm, and there he was, standing in front of you. You wanted to cry more, but the sight of Spencer in front of you made you smile and your heart swell. You knew every word that left his mouth was genuine, full of love and understanding. You rushed forward and hugged him, burying your face in his chest. He wrapped his arms around you and cradled your head. It was almost funny, you were sure this was the most you had touched the germaphobe like, ever.
Into his sweater you sniffled and mumbled, “What about you Spencer?”
He pulled away from the hug, both of you still clinging to the other, but enough to have to look in each other’s eyes. He tilted his head as if he were asking what you meant.
“Do you- are we family?”
His only response was an airy chuckle and a swift, soft peck to your forehead. Huh, that’s new. You weren’t saying you didn’t like it though, no, not at all. He pulled you back into the hug and said into your hair “We don’t have to talk about that right now. But honestly? I think of you as something else, Y/N/N.”
And that was okay. The warmth of his breath on your hair and his sweater wrapping you neatly like a gift, it was more than okay.
-
Spencer led you back into the bar after you had fixed your makeup. Luckily, the wind actually helped to dry your tears pretty quickly. The team was gathered around the table, blocking something from your sight. As the two of you approached, you heard Penelope say “Oh, oh oh! They’re here! Y/N’s here!”
The rest of the team turns to you and in front of you, JJ is holding out a red velvet cupcake with a candle in it. “Happy one year!” The team cheered as a chorus. Your eyes widened and your face lit up. Your shock rendered you almost speechless.
“How’d you remember? Oh my gosh, you guys!” you smiled. With everyone egging you on, you blew the candle out, causing an array of cheers and claps.
“Honestly, some of us didn’t. But you know who did remember?” Morgan commented with a wink. You turned to see Spencer scratching his neck, smiling down at you, the look making your heart swell just a lil’ bit more.
You grabbed his arm and pulled him over with you to the table, the team clearing a spot for the two of you. Conveniently, shots for everyone had already been poured out, readily awaiting your consumption. You grabbed the shot glass and raised it towards the middle of the table.
“To family,” you beamed. Maybe I was just imagining things.

The end has arrived, let the darkness take over you
Frank Castle x Male Reader
Request - Okay good i wanna request for a male reader being punisher's sidekick his backstory is that he came from a poor family single mother 2 siblings and a deadbeat dad he wanted to become a doctor to make money for his family and then family got killed during a crossfire between 2 gangs while going shopping so now he wants revenge he gets a knife buys a gun and starts tracking them down and along the way he comes across frank who's badly injured and unconscious so he drags him away to somewhere safe
All your life you grew up poor. Your mother did everything to have food for you and your two siblings, she worked odd jobs to make sure she can buy clothes and food for everyone. There were moments, that everyone went to bed without eating anything. But your father is a piece of shit, he used to abuse you, mom, and your siblings verbally and physically. You started to fight back. You threw his stuff out then changed the locks. He hasn't come back around for a long time and you want to keep it like that.
You want to be a doctor to help people and provide for your family. Your mom would take you and your siblings to the library, you would start to read medical books old and modern. She knows you want to be a doctor, she wants to help you achieve your dream.
Later, your mother takes you and your sibling's shopping, to buy clothes.
”Y/N, here you can finish reading it at home,” Your mom said.
She gave you the medical book, the library doesn't allow people to check out.
”Mom, you stole it?” You smiled.
”Shh, it's our secret. I know you will be a good doctor and we will always support you. It will be hard but you are strong men and you will make it” She said.
You hugged your mom and she kissed your head. Your siblings hugged you too and you hugged them back.
While walking with them to the store, suddenly there is a shoot out between two gangs on the streets. Bullets start to fly everywhere, people start to run for cover.
You get hit in your arm with a stray bullet, you fall down and hit your head and you passed out.
-At the hospital--
You wake up and your arm is in pain. The IV is in your arm and you look around, the cop walked in.
”Where is my family? My mom-”
”I’m sorry. But you will have to identify your family at the morgue” She said.
Tears start to form and you are stunned.
”W-what happened,” You said.
”There was a shootout between two gang rivals, six people died now we are trying to identify them,” She said.
Your heart starts to race, that's the only thing you can hear is your heart. Later, they take you to the morgue and you see your family. You broke down and start to cry, you kneed down and kept crying.
----
What happened between the two gangs and six people died, the news kept talking about it non-stop. But the cops are taking too long to arrest anyone.
You want revenge, you collected newspapers, booked marked social media talking about the crime, and Google the videos of the crime. You go back to the crime scene during late hours. You searched for clues. You know about the two gangs and no one got arrested, that made you angry. You want to take the law into your own hand and do something about it.
-The next night-
You want to buy a gun and a knife. You know where you go and you bought the items, without any trouble. You start to stalk the first gang The blue reapers, you look at them, and you are filled with rage. Now, you start to think about how you will lure them and kill them.
You really don't have a plan. You are just going in there with a gun and knife against a gang. You are standing across the street watching them. Before you left, you heard a huge sound towards the dumpster. You walked towards the dumpster and you see a guy badly beaten up. He is conscious, you did try to wake up him but it didn't work, you tried to pick him up. You take him back to your place and you start to clean his wounds.
✯ ✫ ✯ ✫
-Next Day-
Frank wakes up and his body is feeling sore. He did struggle to get out of bed, he walked out of the room and he sees you.
”Who are you?” Frank asked.
”I found you unconscious in the alley. I took you here, to stitch you up and you don't need major surgery. My name is Y/N” You said.
”Thank you,” Frank said.
”Don’t worry your gear is fine. It's in the living room... I know who you are” You said.
”You know who I am?” Frank asked.
You nod.
”Help me. Train me, I need to get revenge for those who killed my family. Please train me-”
”I won't train you,” Frank said.
”Why not? I want those two gangs to fall apart. If we don't stop them they will kill winning and kill more people” You said.
”You don't want this lifestyle. The answer is no” Frank said.
”Just give me a chance. I saw you do it before you fight them then kill-”
”I said no!” Frank yelled.
Frank puts back on his gear and left. You sighed and start to think about what to do.
---
A couple of days has passed by, Frank hasbeen thinking about what you said. Frank started to keep an eye on you, but you didn't notice him following you. Later, you found out the first gang’s hideout. You are being reckless, you only have one gun, and there are more than ten people inside the bar.
Frank can see what you are doing. He sighed and called you a dumbass in his mind. Frank moved rapidly, grabbed you by your hoodie, and slammed you hard against the brick wall in the alley.
”What the fuck is wrong with you!?!” Frank growled.
He doesn't let go of you.
”I want them to pay!” You yelled.
”With one gun!? Once you pull out your gun the next you have a bullet in your fucking skull!” Frank growled again.
You and Frank glared at each other.
”Help me stop them. You have the skills and you can be my mentor” You said.
”Go home, before I break your kneecap,” Frank said cold.
He let's go of you and you really want him to train you.
”I work alone,” Frank said.
Frank made sure you walked away. You did go home but the landlord kicked you out because you haven't paid your rent in months. You grabbed your clothes and a family picture and left. You didn't want to go to the homeless shelter so you slept in the park.
---
Frank knows what you're going through and he changed his mind. It wasn't hard for Frank to find you. He did take you to his small apartment which you're grateful. You do sleep on the floor on air a mattress.
Every day Frank showed you how to properly clean a gun, take it apart then put it back together and how to hold a gun. Next Frank would teach you how to pickpocket and it's not easy for you. Because you have to be silent like the wind but you keep messing up. But Frank starts to teach you how to fight but he is not a nice mentor. He hits you hard and he doesn't take it easy.
”Do you think they will go easy on you? Remember, on their mind, they want to kill you either you kill them first or they will kill you” Frank said.
”I won't forget that” You said.
Frank starts to punch you and you start to block his blows. You punched him in the jaw, he almost fell and he is bleeding.
”Not bad, Y/N. Let's keep going” Frank said.
You couldn't help to smirk.
✯ ✫ ✯ ✫
Weeks went by you have been killing gang members one by one from both sides. Frank does go along with you for backup, you didn't feel bad for killing them. They killed your family and they must pay. You finished killing two people on your own, you are covered in blood.
”Sloppy but remember don't leave any evidence that belongs to you on the crime scene. Let's go” Frank said.
You and Frank leave the dive bar. Across the street, there are security cameras and it caught you leaving the bar bloody.
--
The cops found out that you and Frank have been killing gang members. They want to arrest you and Frank, but they can't find your location. Frank has taught you how to live off the grid.
--
You are ready to kill them. You and Frank did set up a trap to have both gangs in one place at the warehouse. They want revenge because you killed their friends.
”Who the fuck are you?” He asked.
”You don't care about my name. But I’m here to kill all of you” You said.
They just laughed at you and you are glaring at them. You take out your gun and shot one of the guys in the head. His body dropped now everyone stopped laughing.
”You fucking asshole!” He yelled.
Everyone took out their guns but Frank is on the rail, he is using his sniper rifle. Now everyone is starting to shoot, you run and hide behind a shipping crate. You hid your weapon and you take out the Submachine gun.
You come out and you start to kill them. You were going to load but the guy hit you and you dropped the gun. You take out the brass knuckles and put it on. Now you start to fight and you punch him in the face. He killed your family, you got on top of him and you snapped. All the rage you locked inside came out, he is bleeding out fast but you broke his face.
You grabbed your gun and the bullets, you loaded your gun. You start to shoot and more bodies start to drop. Frank run towards you
” Let's go now,” Frank said.
You followed him outside and locked the doors. You and Frank blocked every exit earlier and left bombs inside. You and Frank get away from the warehouse, he gave you the remote.
”When you are ready,” Frank said.
You didn't say anything and you pressed the button. You and Frank watched the warehouse explode.
✯ ✫ ✯ ✫
You and Frank go to a small diner to eat. You did burn your clothes because it had blood and put on different clothes. You and Frank don't say anything and just kept eating.
”What is your next move, Y/N,” Frank said.
He takes a huge bite from his burger.
”I have nothing else left for me here. We are wanted so I thought maybe I can tag along” You said.
He starts to think and he drinks his soda and you started to eat again.
”Okay, you can come with me to Canada. I have a friend who can help us” Frank said.
You nod.
--
You met Logan, he has been friends with Frank for years. They trust each other now you're friends with Logan. You told him what happened to your family and he understands the pain and he didn't judge you. Logan told you and Frank that the cops is after you two. But you didn't care, now you want to figure out what you will do with your life.

"Solid as Stone" Ian Gallagher x Mickey Milkovich
Summary: What if when Monica came back, Ian went to find Mandy that day, but found Mickey. Instead of going right to the store for a hookup, Ian runs away distraught after not finding his best friend. Mickey can't help but follow and comfort the redhead he has clearly fallen for.
Or when Ian is freaking out, Mickey is there to comfort him.
Word Count: 2679
Warning: Swearing
Song I Wrote To: “Stone" by Jaymes Young
Note: This is just a bit of an AU what if kind of thing. I just liked it and I love comforting and soft Mickey and I know that day he could tell that Ian was torn.
-----------
Monica was back and Ian didn’t know how to deal with any of it.
As soon as she rolled back into town, Ian felt as if he was suffocating and he had to get out. He didn’t even care if Terry was home at that moment, he needed to see Mandy.
His thoughts kept flicking to Mickey but he knew that regardless of the kind of situation they were in, Mickey would throttle him before he even considered offering Ian a comforting hand. Mickey had been very clear about the nature of their relationship if you could even call it that. Ian knew that there was more to them just random hookups, but he didn’t have time to unpack any of it at the moment.
Mandy had to be the one and he needed her now.
Ian arrived at the front of the Milkovich house and barrelled up the steps, his breathing still labored. His fist made contact with the wooden door, frantically begging someone to open up. It took a moment before the front door was wrenched open and it wasn’t the Milkovich sibling Ian had wanted to see right then, but one he was always wishing to see no matter what. Mickey, who had a cigarette in his mouth, seemed surprised at Ian’s frantic look. “Gallagher?” he asked.
“Mandy, is she here?” Ian breathed out, trying to see behind Mickey and into the house.
“What?”
“Is Mandy here?” Ian asked again, his breathing still sporadic. “I need to see her.” Mickey frowned as he took in the state of Ian as the younger boy seemed to be running off pure anxiety. Something was definitely wrong with him and it surprised Mickey as he realized he was incredibly concerned about Ian Gallagher. However, after all the time he had spent around the kid, he had come to pick up on all of Ian’s idiosyncrasies.
“She’s not here,” Mickey told him, glancing over his shoulder where Terry was passed out on the couch. “She went away with Iggy for a couple of days.” Ian let out a breath, still very jumpy, as he looked back and forth, trying to figure out what he was going to do. “Gallagher, the hell is wrong with you?”
“Nothing, nothing,” he rushed out as he glanced behind him, almost as if he expected Monica to be running after him, but the street remained silent. “I… I gotta go,” he stammered before nodding to himself, turning around, and half-stumbling down the steps. Mickey watched after him for a few seconds, still very confused at Ian’s behaviors. Ian shuffled out into the street and then Mickey nearly jumped out of his skin as a car screeched to a halt right in front of the redhead. Honking blared through the neighborhood as the man behind the wheel cursed at Ian who was raising his hands in apologies.
As soon as Ian was out of the street, the car sped off, leaving Ian to stare at it for only a second before he moved to run down an alley in between the houses, still somewhat out of it. Mickey glanced back inside his house for a second before swearing, “Fucking Gallagher.” Grabbing his coat, he shut the door behind him and took off after the redhead.
It didn’t take long for Mickey to pick up on Ian’s trail as the kid had the loudest footsteps on the Southside. Mickey kept telling himself that the only reason he was doing this was that he wanted to know if Ian was on something and if he could get a hit. However, behind the denial, he knew the truth. He did care about Gallagher and he could tell Ian was going through something.
It was only another block that Mickey finally found him. Ian was on the ground, his back against the wall of the empty alleyway and he was breathing harder than he was when he had shown up on Mickey’s porch. Slowly, Mickey approached him, keeping an eye on the redhead’s hands. He knew Ian well enough to know that the kid could punch just as well as anyone on the Southside and he wasn’t looking forward to being on the other side of one of those freckled fists if he startled him.
“Gallagher?” Mickey tried, but Ian remained frozen, his eyes only on the cold asphalt. “Gallagher,” he tried again, but still, Ian remained oblivious to his presence. With a sigh, Mickey ran a hand through his hair before finally stepping right into the other boy’s view. “Ian?” he asked, softer this time. Ian’s breath stuttered for a second before his eyes flicked to the worried blue ones above him.
“What do you want?” Ian asked and while the words sent a dagger to Mickey’s heart, it was a valid question. Why had he followed him? Ian had no reason to trust that Mickey Milkovich cared for him. Mickey hated that he had led him to believe that he was only using him for sex, but he understood. Mickey was never one for affection, but it wasn’t as if he had any role models to learn from. Colin had tried to somewhat raise his younger siblings, but there was only so much he could do. Mickey was on his own in this department, but he was hoping Ian could be the beginning of his effort to show the compassion he clearly felt.
“What happened?” Mickey asked, finally crouching down to get on Ian’s level. The boy in front of him looked frailer than Mickey had ever seen him. The Gallaghers were known to be tough sons of bitches, but everyone had their breaking point, Mickey supposed.
“My mom,” Ian said. “My mom came home and just fucked it all up.” Mickey nodded, understanding immediately. If you knew about the Gallaghers and especially if you knew about Frank, you knew about Monica. Terry hated the woman and Mickey finally could see why. If the way Ian was acting was evidence of how her kids felt when she came back, she definitely should have stayed gone.
“Hurricane Monica,” Mickey simply said. Ian looked at him in surprise. Mickey sank to the ground next to Ian, their shoulders almost touching. “Fiona’s mentioned her a few times at the Alibi, Frank, too. I think we all get the picture enough to know she ain’t exactly mother of the fucking year.”
“That’s an understatement,” Ian said and Mickey was glad to hear that his breathing was sounding a little better. Ian let his head fall back to rest on the bricks behind him. “She always does this, Mickey,” Ian began and Mickey remained quiet, just letting Ian talk. “She comes into town and makes it seem like she’s going to stay. Debbie and Carl don’t deserve that shit.”
“Neither do you,” Mickey said automatically. Ian’s eyes flickered to Mickey’s who was just staring in front of him, his hands playing with the cigarette he still held.
“She’s my mom,” Ian tried to rationalize.
“So?” Mickey said, finally looking at him again. “Frank is your dad and he’s a piece of shit. Terry is my dad and he’s...he’s… fuck he’s the fucking worse.” Ian could hear the hesitancy in Mickey’s voice. Everyone knew how horrible Terry was, but Ian was starting to think there was more to the racist asshole than nobody else knew. “My father hates me,” Mickey finally continued. “He hates me and he doesn’t even know that…”
“That you hook up with guys?” Ian offered, not wanting to push Mickey by slapping the “gay” label on him. He had learned his lesson with that before.
“He’d kill me if he knew,” Mickey said. “And if I had the chance to get the hell out of dodge to be away from him, I would. I don’t care if they’re our parents, they don’t owe us shit if they’ve never been parents, you know?” Ian was quiet for a minute before he nodded, letting out a shaky breath.
“I don’t know what to do, Mick,” Ian said, casually dropping the nickname he had been trying out for a while. If it was any other time, Mickey would have made a comment about it, but he just enjoyed the rush that went through him at Ian saying his name.
“What do you want to do?” Mickey asked. “Cause that’s all up to you, man.”
“I want her to get the fuck out,” Ian said. “If she’s leaving again, it’s gonna be on our terms this time, not hers.” Ian struggled to keep his hands still and his emotions in check. The last thing he wanted to do was cry in front of Mickey. This was why he needed Mandy.
However, Mickey Milkovich surprised him as he always did.
Tattooed fingers suddenly covered freckled ones and Ian’s hand was enveloped in a warm and firm grip. Ian looked up at Mickey who was looking at him with actual concern.
“Don’t let her ruin you,” Mickey said firmly.
“She’s already done that,” Ian said, trying not to focus too much on the hand in his.
“Says who, huh?” Mickey countered. “Who says you’re fucking ruined? You’re not. You’re…” Mickey trailed off for a second. His eyes flickered from Ian’s lips and then back to his face. “You’re damn solid, Gallagher. A fucking tower of stone, so don’t think that some woman can just come back and fuck with you just because she’s your blood. Blood don’t mean shit when it comes to family anyways.”
Ian was looking at him with wonder in his eyes. He had never seen this side of Mickey and he was already mourning the fact that he may never again for a while once they left that alley. In case he was right, Ian clutched onto Mickey’s hand tighter, letting him feel the other boy’s pulse beneath his fingers.
“Thanks,” he breathed, almost afraid to speak any louder in case it shattered whatever peace they had built.
“Still wish Mandy was here instead?” Mickey asked and there was no malice behind it.
“Absolutely not,” Ian admitted as he glanced down at Mickey’s mouth. They were silent for a moment before Ian asked about something Mickey had just said. “Would you really leave to get away from Terry?”
“I wouldn’t go far,” Mickey admitted, looking at him through hooded eyes. “I could never go too far from you, could I? Who’d run after you when you’re going out of your fucking mind?” Ian smiled, trying not to laugh.
“I don’t know, I’m sure I could find someone,” he said and then boldly continued, “maybe Kash has a friend around his age.”
That did it.
“Don’t you fucking dare,” Mickey growled as he grabbed onto Ian’s neck and slammed his lips against the other boy's mouth. Ian reacted immediately, tugging Mickey closer to him. Mickey’s heart was slamming in his chest and he knew it was risky to kiss Ian out in the open, but he couldn’t bring himself to stop. He had been wanting to kiss him since the first time he had seen Ian smile. It wasn’t until they had sex for the first time that that need to kiss him had intensified tenfold. Mickey grabbed at Ian’s coat, trying to make the distance between them nonexistent.
When Ian slipped his tongue into Mickey’s mouth, Mickey was done for. He could never go back to just having sex after this. This was...indescribable and he needed it all. Mickey was as inexperienced as it got when it came to kissing men, but Ian seemed to be a master according to Milkovich. Ian ran his hands up Mickey’s arms and then up to his neck where his large hands took hold of Mickey’s face as he continued to devour the other boy’s mouth.
Eventually, they both needed to breathe and Mickey was the first to pull back, though he didn’t go far. “That was…” Ian began, his breathing heavy but this time for a completely different reason.
“Long overdue,” Mickey finished, his breath matching pace with Ian’s. “I didn’t mean to do that like this. You know in a shithole,” he said, gesturing to the disgusting alley.
“Our whole neighborhood is a shithole,” Ian pointed out causing Mickey to smile slightly. Ian couldn’t help himself as he pressed another kiss to Mickey’s lips before leaning back again. “Don’t think I’m not going to take advantage of being allowed to do that now.”
“Who says this ain’t a one-time thing, firecrotch?” Mickey asked, raising one of his very expressive eyebrows.
“Me,” Ian said simply and Mickey rolled his eyes, but didn’t move away from Ian. His expression then turned concerned once again.
“Feeling better?” Mickey asked and Ian nodded.
“Getting there,” Ian admitted, referring back to his Monica meltdown. “You helped quite a bit,” he said cheekily and Mickey just snorted. “Thanks, Mick,” Ian said and Mickey could hear all the sincerity behind his words. Mickey nodded and then sat back beside Ian, their shoulders pressed together as if they were afraid to not be touching each other.
“Don’t think you can’t come to me when you’re in trouble, Gallagher,” Mickey said. “I ain’t gonna fucking turn you away. Not you.” Ian nodded again and then leaned his head on Mickey’s shoulder.
“I don’t want to go home,” Ian admitted. Mickey leaned into Ian and nodded.
“Me either,” said Mickey as he thought about his father back on their worn-out couch.
“Monica has to go,” Ian whispered.
“I could make that happen, you know?” Mickey said casually. “I still have that uncle down at the foundry.” Ian jabbed him in the ribs, but Mickey knew he was smiling.
“No thanks,” Ian said with a sigh. “Murder wouldn’t look good on you.”
“Please,” Mickey scoffed, “everything looks good on me.”
“And off, too,” Ian added and that got Mickey’s attention. Ian was looking up at him and when Mickey met his eyes, he could see just a hint of mischief in his green eyes.
“Are you coming onto me, Gallagher,” Mickey said.
“Always,” Ian said as his hands pushed into Mickey’s dark hair.
“I ain’t havin’ you get on me in some back alley,” Mickey said. “I have standards, asshole.”
“Then it’s a good thing I have keys to the store,” Ian said with a lower voice. Mickey chewed on that thought for a second before jumping to his feet and dragging Ian with him.
“You are a fucking menace,” Mickey whispered to Ian who just beamed at him, and then Ian’s smile turned softer.
“So, I’m solid huh?” Ian asked, looking at Mickey who wasn’t running away for once.
“As stone,” Mickey agreed. “You’re gonna be just fine, Red. Monica issues or not, you,” he said, poking Ian in the chest, “are gonna be fine.” Ian could have cried then, but he settled on grabbing Mickey by his coat and kissing him hard. Mickey kissed him back, still trying to get used to the feel, but he figured he’d get the hang of it soon.
Ian pulled back first this time and smiled at Mickey, grateful that he had been the Milkovich sibling to answer the damn door. “Thanks,” he whispered.
“You already said that,” Mickey reminded him.
“And I’ll keep saying it, dumbass,” Ian teased and then began walking backward, gesturing to Mickey to follow him.
Mickey just smiled and jogged to catch up with Ian. As the two of them headed to the store, Mickey forced himself to watch where he was going because all he could focus on was that Ian was back to being Ian and he, Mickey, had helped bring that smile back. Cautiously, he took Ian’s hand for just a fraction of a second before letting go. It was brief, but Ian knew what it meant. Sure, he was solid, unmoving, but to Mickey, Ian was his rock, the one that kept him grounded when everything else was trying to pull him away and if he’d let him, Mickey also wanted to be that for Ian.

26. Pipe
It wasn’t Wally’s firstborn son, Vincent, that took over his company, nor was it his middle child, Jonathan. Instead, it was his youngest daughter, Samantha, who took that knowledge working with pipes and put it to good use, although the repairwoman and plumber couldn’t imagine herself using a pipe like that before... (Set in the FIFE AU, RIGHT at the start, as in, as soon as the Ink’s Freeing everyone because it hasn’t been fed.)
Joey couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief when he heard the knock at his door and the muffled greeting from the other side.
“Franks’ Repair and Plumbing.” After a short pause, the voice on the other side spoke again. “..Anyone home?”
He took his cane and hobbled over to the door, opening it and jumping back in shock when he saw who was behind it.
In a lot of ways, the repairwoman was the spitting image of her late father; same black eyes, same nose, same eye shape, same skin tone, same lost tooth that was clearly gotten in a fight, ...Same hat; a newsboy cap that Wally wore when he didn’t want to ruin the baseball cap he liked with ink. In her case, it could’ve been the EXACT same hat as it looked very old and worn, and it was stained by ink before she even set foot in his apartment even though he doubted she worked with the stuff considering her job.
There were still clear differences keeping her from looking like a clone of the janitor he killed; like her jet black hair kept in a tight low bun and that she had a much more muscular physique, but the resemblance was still uncanny to him.
“You wanna stop gawkin’ an’ get your shit fixed or do ya wanna keep pissin’ your pants in shock, Gramps?”
Her nametag read ‘Sammy’ and her rudeness certainly reminded him of that musician.
“I… Well,” he cleared his throat “you just so happen to remind me of old friends of mine. And it took me off guard.”
“Uh huh. Let’s just cut to the point, you say you called me for a problem with a rare machine of yours?”
“Yes, it hasn’t been working for five days now and it’s been pumping... ...stuff through my plumbing!”
“A’right, can ya show me da machine?”
“Gladly.” He hobbled into the room where he normally kept it with the repairwoman following him and muttering something under her breath. “Here we are.”
“So dis here is the ink machine?” she circled around it and tapped it with her wrench here and there and muttered more things under her breath as she took a close look at it. “Eitha you should’ve called me in way sooner, or ya shoulda scrapped this hunk of junk and not even bothered in da first place.”
“Well, can you save it?”
“Hmm…” she popped her gum and shrugged. “I’m no miracle worker, but I can try. Don’t get your hopes up though, I’ve never seen anything like this before...”
Joey bit his lip, it was an expected response, but it wasn’t a good one. As Sammy continued to work on the machine, the former animator limped to the entrance to the Ink Demon’s realm, took a quick peek inside, and slammed it shut as he saw Henry speed towards him. He cursed under his breath as Henry started beating on the door.
“What da fuck is that noise?” Sammy called out from the ink machine’s room. “Sounds like someone tryin’ ta break a door down ta murdah ya!”
“I-it’s just the washing machine in the basement!” Joey tried to keep the door shut with all his weight pressed against it. “Remember how I said that the ink machine is messing with the plumbing?”
“Maybe I should go check dat out too then, one bad pipe tends to take the others down with it when you’re not careful...”
“N-no! I’m sure it will go back to normal if the Ink machine’s fixed…”
“I can’t do this with distractions goin’ on, Ill just shut it off real quick an’ get back ta work on this.”
“I’m sure it’ll die down on it’s own soon! Don’t get up!”
Propping a chair up against the banging door, Joey speed-limped to his desk and drew like wildfire; the Ink Demon emerging out of the machine without Henry going to it first, the Demon breaking down the boards and stuff around it and going right towards Henry. He stopped holding his breath in anticipation when the thumping died down on the other side, the story waiting for him to properly restart it so he could tell it again.
For a few hours, he left his desk untouched as he counted down the seconds for her to hurry up and fix it and leave. The already long hours feeling like an eternity as the hurdle standing between him and his goals grew more and more infuriating with each and every single tick of the clock.
Luckily for him, it sounded like she was making progress, but she wasn’t doing it fast enough for his liking. Thankfully she was far too focused on the machine itself to notice it’s effects on the rest of the house.
Like the groaning swollen searcher oozing out of his bathtub tap, or his kitchen sink slowly filling up with ink with the stolen hearts of ink creatures floating and bobbing away in the messy sink. He swore that the TV turned on on it’s own and started playing “Tombstone Picnic”, but Sammy didn’t seen to notice in spite of the cartoon playing very loudly. Joey just silently prayed she’d get those damn pipes inside it fixed and get out.
“Okay, I think it’s fixed now.”
The phrase was music to the old man’s ears and as he walked in, he could in fact notice an improvement with the machine itself.
“Wanna give it a test whirl ta be sure?”
“I think I will later, thank you.” He staggered as he fished his wallet out of his bathrobe pocket. “I’ll call you if I notice anything out of the ordinary again.”
“So what’s it supposed ta do, anyway?”
“Oh it just makes... things...” Joey handed her a check. “Nothing too interesting...”
The Ink Machine on the floor sputtered to life on its own and spat out a large glob of ink, a long metal pipe, and a tape recorder that was slightly encased in the dark stuff.
“That’s supposed to happen.” Joey lied as he reached for the plug and pulled it out.
“Uh... okay..? Have a decent rest of your day then...”
As she turned to leave, the tape recorder on the ink clicked on on it’s own as well, and a very familiar voice came out of it.
“...Sam..an...tha..?” The speaker crackled in a voice that made her tear up as she heard it. “Sammy, is dat you?! It’s me, Dad! Dis ain’t a recording! I’m in da tape! I’M IN DA TAPE!”
Joey cursed under his breath as the repairwoman turned back in shock and heard a softness enter her voice that he didn’t know that the woman was capable of.
“...Daddy?”
She ran back and scooped up the tape recorder in spite of the old man trying to wrangle it away from her.
“Daddy, can you see me?!”
“Yes!” The Tape recorder let out a surprised, and relieved sounding laugh that seemed like it turned into crying. “I was startin’ ta worry dat I’d never see ya again!”
“I’m here, Daddy” She hugged the tape recorder tightly, the shock of just having her father back outweighed all of the supernatural happenings around her. “I’m here...”
“Othas are down here too! your Uncle Sammy, Norman, Tom, Susie, pretty much everyone who’s eva worked at da studio!”
“What?! How?! And why?!”
“It’s Joey! He’s made some kind of... pocket torture dimension!”
Knowing where this was going and knowing that he was far too weak and frail to take down the amazonian woman of a handywoman himself, Joey opened the Ink Demon’s door and prayed it would come out and attack her. In the meantime, he himself fled into the animated studio just in case.
“SAMMY! LOOK OUT!” The living tape recorder warned as inky tendrils webbed all over the living room. “RUN!”
Sammy grabbed the pipe out of the pile of ink and charged.
“NO! NOT AT DA INK DEMON! AWAY FROM- Huh??”
Wally paused as he saw Sammy shove the Ink Demon off to the side and proceed to run after Joey.
“Sorry Daddy.” She said as she paused to set him down on the table. “But I’m gonna need both hands ta beat down dat sorry son of a bitch.”
“Go get ‘im tiger! I’m rootin’ for ya!”
While her small detour and Joey using his knowledge of the layout to his advantage managed to get some distance between them, the pipe wielding Valkyrie with murder in her eyes was quickly closing in on him.
“THIS IS FOR WHAT YA DID TO DADDY!”

One quick question, why do you hate Before the Storm? I actually really liked it. It could be because I'm a hopeless romantic, but I just want to see your opinions on it
Oh boy, where to even begin...? I cannot stand bts... it actually hurts my insides to think about how much I hate this game haha.
[note: yeah hi uhhh... this is long because of course it is, it's coming from me but listen, my feelings for this game are not nice and I have a lot to say so.... my bad]
One of the bigger reasons, though not the biggest, is Chloe... I'm not exactly a big fan of Chloe. At all. Not in the first game, nope. I understand that so many people love her and they have their reasons for that, that's fine, she's just a character who doesn't appeal to me. If anything, she pisses me off because I can see the foundation for such a compelling character, but it all gets thrown away for the sake of bullshit.
So then they plop bts in front of us with Chloe as the playable protagonist in a prequel story about her and Rachel Amber. This is an opportunity to expand on her character, to tie into the first season and make me feel more positive feelings about her character, to do what the first game failed to do..... and to be fair, they DO have a few of them sprinkled in... but then they're overshadowed by the garbage.
It's just... the ideas are there, and they're ideas that I like but they're executed so poorly. I want to like Chloe Price, I can see that there's something good here.
Like okay.... lemme do a thing:
Chloe Price. She's going through some serious shit after her dad dies. He died unexpectedly in a car accident, something Chloe had zero control over, it's not fair, and even though it's not like the universe singled her out and said "fuck you," it feels that way to her.
On top of that, her best friend who she adores? She moves away. Not something that's in either of their control, they're kids at this point. However, Max stops contacting her and that hurts Chloe. Chloe tries to stay in contact, but eventually Max stops responding.
Then you have her mother, who's also grieving after losing her husband and dealing with her daughter pushing her away and on the wrong path. She meets a man and falls for him after realizing she still has a long life ahead of her and that's too long to be miserable over her husband's death, William wouldn't want that, and David is a source of comfort for her... something she's not getting from her daughter. The problem is that David and Chloe don't get along in the slightest... which leads to Chloe feeling like her mom is trying to replace her father by moving on, not understanding why Joyce's timeline of grief isn't the same as hers, y'know?
Oh, and can't forget that Chloe has fallen onto a not so great path of drugs, booze, bad grades, lying, staying out late without letting her mom know where she is, pickin' fights, making friends with drug dealers, stealing money and other items, all that. She's bitter, angry, unable to understand most of her own complex emotions and that only makes her even more upset. She's unable to express them in a healthy way, she doesn't ask for help, and denies it whenever offered.
So... Chloe's starts out as an extremely entitled, rude, obnoxious character. She insults the bouncer in the cringiest way possible because these adult men writing her don't know how teen girls talk, she steals money and a t-shirt from a dude who works for the band because $20? how dare? even though bands don't make a lot of money and a lot of profit comes from their merch but who cares about supporting artists you like, right? Chloe sure doesn't. She probably buys some weed from Frank because yeah, she's got a dependence on the stuff now. She gets into a fight with a couple of dudes after spilling beer on them.... but what's this?
Oh look, it's Rachel Amber. Y'know, the pretty, popular, talented, smart, perfect, charismatic girl from Chloe's school?? yeah, she's at the concert and saves Chloe from the dicks who attacked her, and the two girls spend the rest of the concert together.
Now, for some reason, Chloe isn't sure but Rachel has taken a special interest in her. Rachel is flirty, she wants to know who Chloe is, she asks her to skip school with her, and the two take a ride on a train to a park and... honestly? pretty romantic, and it plays into that escapism fantasy thing of having the pretty girl who everyone likes single you out, making you feel special.
Over time, the girls grow close. Rachel has some family problems and seeks comfort in Chloe. They spend nights walking together down empty streets at night, holding hands. They hang out and talk about the stars, they discuss Shakespeare and what it's like to actually be your true self, if there's actually such a thing. They get tattoos together, and Rachel helps Chloe color her hair. They have a special hideout they decorated together in the junkyard. Rachel spends the night at Chloe's enough that she ends up leaving a lot of clothes there. They daydream about running away together, long road trips and living big in LA.
Chloe starts to see Rachel as her angel because for the first time since Max, she feels like she has someone she can be open and honest with. Rachel almost seems too perfect to be true, y'know?
And hey, over time Chloe actually starts to kinda get her life on the right track, if not in an unconventional way. Sure, she's still dealing with losing her father. that's not something she'll just get over... but she does start making an effort with her mom, and yes, even David after he told her about his time in the army and gave her that photo. They both know they'll never be friends, and they'll still have arguments, but they'll at least keep the peace for Joyce's sake.
It's not all perfect, though. Chloe's still smoking and Rachel isn't always the best influence. They get into trouble here and there, but nothing super serious.
She dropped out of Blackwell so that her mom didn't have to keep paying her tuition and because she's fixated on this fantasy of running away with Rachel. Chloe's feeling good about herself, about her future, for the first time since her dad died.
Until Rachel disappears.
And everything goes to shit pretty quick after that. Rachel's gone, she's not answering calls or texts, and everyone keeps saying that she probably ran away, but Chloe knows better. She knows Rachel wouldn't leave without her, so something must've happened. She makes posters and puts them everywhere, but things only get worse.
Money is tight. Joyce isn't making as much as she needs at the diner, David isn't making enough as a security guard, and hey... they might lose the house... the house that was once Williams, that's a piece of him he left behind. Not only that, but where will they go?
Chloe doesn't want them to lose the house, or for her mom to be this stressed out over food and bills. Chloe borrowed money from Frank in hopes of using it to run away with Rachel, but with her missing... Chloe decides to give it to her mom in order to save the house. Joyce is alarmed that she has this much, but Chloe manages to lie her way out of it to give her mom some peace of mind.
Except now she has another problem- she can't pay Frank back and he's getting more aggressive about it as the weeks go on. Rachel's still missing, Frank's breathing down her neck with threats toward her mom, money is still an issue at home, and she's not in a good place. Chloe's desperate enough to steal... so when she makes it into a bar that doesn't card her and she sees rich boy Nathan Prescott drunk off his ass and flashing bills, she thinks it'll be an easy score. It's wrong to do this, it's dangerous, but Chloe justifies it to herself. She needs that money.
She didn't expect Nathan to drug her drink, and she wakes up to him taking pictures of her. She manages to get the hell outta there, but she still has no idea what the hell happened to her. Like.... that reeeally fucks with her, it doesn't even feel real. She can't tell anyone, she can't tell her mom, and the police won't do anything since they're under the Prescott thumb.... and well, she decides to blackmail him.
And we all know how that goes.
So... we have the highs and lows of Chloe Price. She's flawed, even starting out as unbearable, but over time she becomes more nuanced and you're invested in what happens to her. You want to see her better herself, you want her to work through her grief and get help, you understand why she hates David but when you see him and Joyce happy together and him make an effort to be better, you want to see them make amends. You know David doesn't want to replace William, hell HE knows no one ever could.
You want Chloe to keep going, to find purpose in her life and realize her own potential. You saw her at the beginning when she was broken, when she was lost and didn't see a future for herself, and it's satisfying to see her come this far to where she knows she has a future... something that becomes all the more tragic when you remember her fate in the first game.
You're invested in Chloe and Rachel's romance, you get giddy watching them flirt and do dumb, romantic, cliche things, and you're just as compelled by Rachel as everyone else. No, she's not perfect, she's not a stereotype, she's much more layered than that and it only breaks your heart when you realize that she's killed later on, that of course she's going to go missing... you already know that! So you're watching Chloe, who has gotten pieces of her life back together and is genuinely happy.... fall back down the pit, fall back into the habits she had at the beginning, and you know it will lead to her downfall.
.....TOO BAD BEFORE THE STORM DID FUCK ALL WITH THAT RIGHT?
Nope, you don't get any of that. Well, except Chloe being cringy. You get a lot of that.
No, no, we got edgelord, flanderized Chloe who thinks her wit is much greater than it actually is, whose terrible moments outweigh the good, and who doesn't grow or change no matter what influence you try to have over her.
Rachel could be replaced with a literal barbie doll and little would change. She has no charm, she's nothing like what she was described in the first game, and she's just so fucking unlikable. When she finds out that her mom isn't actually her birth mom, she claims that her whole life is a lie and her parents aren't real and she wants to meet her druggie mom who chose drugs over her for 15 years because she's the one who actually squeezed her out.
Which, by the way, WHY is this the goddamn plot?? Why did they feel like they had to shove in this "oh hey Rachel's dad is the bad guy, oh wait now this drug guy is the bad guy because he stabby Rachel, no wait now her dad is the super bad guy because he put a hit out on Rachel's REAL mom, oh no wait it's fine because Frank murdered drug man off screen" WHY YOU DO THIS??
You have three episodes. THREE. And in those three episodes, you have the opportunity to explore Chloe as a character, and her relationships with Rachel, Joyce, and David. But instead of dedicating the story to that, something you could've created a compelling narrative out of, you threw in this dumb mom plot and fire-
HOW THE HELL DID I FORGET THE FIRE????
What- why did- does she have- Rachel just- RACHEL SETS THE FOREST ON FIRE??? WHY THOUGH???
I get it, "Rachel is the fire" yeah yeah and it's dumb.
Oh and because we didn't have enough going on, here's a side mission where you gotta deal with getting money from this other kid who's running drugs for big bad drug man because he wants to help his dad who lost his job.
But WAIT, there's more- In a series where several girls were drugged by Nathan and Jefferson, forced to pose for pictures, and some even killed or driven to try and take their own life? something taken so seriously...? Victoria gets drugged and it's treated like a joke. Even worse, there is a path that has Rachel drugging her, and no one cares.
ALSO.... Rachel cheated on Chloe with two adult men, remember? One of which fucking murders her?? and we're just... we're just not gonna do anything with that??? Nothing??? Maybe a little stinger at the end but that's it????
I just..... I hate this game so much.
It had so much potential. Not only that, but it had the first game to look at and learn from. Learn from the mistakes that game made and improve upon.... but instead, they fucked up even worse. It's just a game of fanservice that has way too much going on, is trying to do too much, and loses focus on the most important things.
Three episodes could've been enough to explore different points of Chloe's character before the events of the first game. They could've crafted a story that gave more insight into her life that make sense of the choices she made, that turn her into the Chloe we see in the first game. You don't need a forest fire, you don't need evil lawyers. I know the first game had the storm and time travel and big dumb Jefferson, but you wanted to tell a story that's grounded without shit like that... y'know, before the storm.
I could probably go on and on if someone doesn't stop me, so I'll stop myself here... I hate bts because it's potential was there, I could see it in a few key moments, and it was wasted.
The romantic ideas fall flat because being pretty and gay isn't enough for me, I need more than that. I don't care if they kiss because I don't care about their relationship, and frankly, they've done very little to make me care about them as individuals.
UGH
.......does that answer your quick question? haha sorry for the not so quick answer, but like I said, this game makes my brain mad and once I get going, it's hard to stop.

Thoughts on everyone in the realms?
"Short Answer; I made a chart. Not a well drawn chart, mind you, but a chart. Sometimes you don't wanna put effort into drawing 50 something faces"
"Long answer, uh....well lemme go down the list"
Claudette: My Starflower~!! She's so sweet and kind and amazing in trials and every time I see her I swoon a little- I love her so much~ Dwight: He's cute- And he's a good leader, despite his nervous personality, he knows how to bring a group together. Final guy potential. Ash: ....Don't...Tell him I said this? But uh....Evil Dead was one of my biggest comfort series, the thing that got me through losing both my parents....the thing that helped me transition, pick my name, and fueled my FX hobby. And I'm still attached, even realizing he's a real person and all- But...it's weird to just, be upfront with something like that, so I'm just...burying it as best as I can. David: He's a little rough around the edges but he’s good to have in a trial, plus when you can get past the walls, he’s nice to talk to. Kate: Her music by the campfire is calming and she’s such a sweetheart. If we were in a better situation I’d love to learn Guitar from her, but, it’s hard when you’re a moment away from a trial at any given time. Amalthea (@askthewidowstars OC): She judged my entire vibe but jokes on her I’m the one who snagged a cutie for life- Meg: If I had a dollar for every time she left me for dead I would have enough money to paint the entire campfire in solid gold. The only time we’ve ever properly talked was about SAW traps and 90% of it was her admitting she could beat every single trap because she was ‘built different’ Jeff: He’s a sweetheart and really nice to be around. Sometimes when we’re by the campfire in our downtimes I’ll let him draw on my arm. it kinda makes me want a tattoo, honestly. If we ever get out of here, I might get one. Steve: Bros!! We kinda make up team ‘Altruistic Himbo’, Plus the ‘Babysitter/Brother’ Vibes mesh really well. I kinda wanna re-style his hair though, mostly because it looks fluffy, and nice to play with. Quentin: Bros!! We’re gonna make matching T-Shirts about committing Arson on Freddy in particular. He’s fun to hang around in our downtime, and I hope there’s a chance he can get some actual rest, even in here. He deserves it. Adam: If Dwight wasn’t the leader I feel like he’d take over the Reigns. I feel like he’s the calm type that doesn’t handle energetic types well though. Which, y’know, makes things hard. Nea: Anytime I see her she’s either sneaking around the map and watching everyone get killed, or doing something stupid to get herself killed. I’d get grey hair if We were actually friends. Feng: Gamer bros- I got to find out we actually played a lotta the same stuff before we were taken by the Entity. We get a chance to nerd out in between trials- Laurie: Best Final Girl hands down. I kinda hope she can teach me Decisive Strike one day- I feel like its also just a little awkward since again, still a fan of Myers Nancy: She doesn’t agree that Demo’s a good boy, which makes sense, but we but heads over it. Also I’m pretty sure she wants me dead for touching the bones around the map one too many times. They’re just too tempting.... Jake: He’s pretty quiet, but he’s helpful in trials. I heard he’s been to a convention a few times, but I don’t think he’s actually into it as much as I thought...Which kinda sucks. I’d love more cosplay buddies y’know? Yui: Kinda makes me want a motorbike. We don’t talk but she seems really cool. A little too cool to me around if that makes sense. Yun-Jin: She benefits off of throwing everyone else under the bus. And 90% of the time she will throw everyone under the bus. Even if she needs actual help to escape the trial. Cheryl: Cheryylll!! She’s really cool and honestly would add her to the ‘Can kill god if she was not nerfed’ Squad. Especially since y’know, she has- I bet if we got enough of the kids together we could just beat the Entity’s ass. I know she could. Tapp: Always been a fan of Tapp before I was taken, although I feel like he’d wanna arrest me if we weren’t in the Entity’s Realm. I might be a little too excited for my own good about Kramer’s work. I don’t think he’d believe the fact its a movie either. Ace: He’s kinda like the Uncle of the group around the campfire, but, coming into trials, He’s still for saving his own skin- You can also only stand dad jokes for so long. Especially in an eternity like this. Leon: He’s cool!!! I got so excited first realizing He and Jill were here, and I wanna get a chance to talk to him about everything that went down, but Haven’t got the chance. He’s nice inside of Trials though, usually doesn’t leave anyone behind. Not a fan of getting blinded though. Jill: She knows how to lead the trials well, and I look up to her a lot. She’s always been such a badass!! Bill: If Bill gets his hands on a weapon the entire Realm would be fucked. Badass as hell and Kinda scary. Another one on the list of ‘Entity needed to Nerf’ Felix: You’d think a Childless Father and a Fatherless son would be able to bond a bit more, but, I think we each kinda get the same vibe of homesickness from one another. He’s kind though, and it’s neat to see his work whenever we’re by the campfire. Elodie: She’s better at helping out than most of the others, but she’s still in a survival of the fittest mindset. I loved hearing about her studies from before she was taken though. I feel like if we had more time we could dig deeper into this whole world and what its about. But we don’t get that- Zarina: We just don’t really click as much, honestly. I’d love to get to know her better but I think she’s more into digging into the killers and what she can find out about this place. Which y’know, could be better done with a team. Sage (@askthewidowstars OC): HUSBAND!!! My husband. I love him to the Moon and back. He’s amazing and I miss him even when we’re five feet apart- ...I need a hug now- Amanda: Best girl hands down!! We vibed a lot in between Trials talking about her traps and old designs, she was impressed by my knowledge, and we hang out in Gideon sometimes! Ghostface: He’s pretty cute- Also fun to be around, even if he’s kind of a dick when he’s actually at work, it’s better when you’re outside of a Trial. It’s also neat to see he’s not just two idiots in a halloween costume and his own person, as much as I love the Scream Series, too- Leatherface: Bubba!!! Honestly I’d handle being chainsawed. Fuckin Love Bubba- Huntress: I wanna learn how to throw hatchets but I know I never will. She’s kinda scary, but also I feel like if she could adopt some of the others in the Realms, she totally would. Oni: The only times I’ve ever really seen him is just before my skull gets bashed in. All I really have associated to him is the splitting headache. Twins: I’m gonna punt Victor into the sun. I haven’t been good around kids beforehand and this tiny gremlin motherfucker just makes it worse. Pinhead: I was so excited to see him!! He’s one of the few that talks more often than not in a trial, and he’s always had this air of elegance about him which makes it so much cooler! I’d be tempted to grab the box to solve it, but, at the same time Dwight’s already been hunted. I just...want to see how it works, really. Maybe if I ask nicely? Nah, probably not. Pyramid Head: He’s so fucking COOL!!! He’s always just been really fucking cool and I still get stars in my eyes. I wanna re-create his weapon one day. Joey: Joey’s one of the chill killers to be around, probably my favorite amongst the legion. Also Cosplay gang?? Hello? Susie: She’s cute!! I like her vibes whenever there’s not violence involved. I wonder if she’d ever get into costume making, she has the artistic eye for it. I also wonder if she’d ever dye other people’s hair...I’d kinda want green tips one day- Frank: Still wanna throw a palette at him. He’s one of the more serious of the Legion, and usually the one you’d find with a Mori. Not as Serious as Julie but only because he has the cocky god complex to go with it. Julie: She’s definitely the most serious out of the Legion. There’s no real rest whenever we’re in a trial against her. Scary as hell and less of a bastard than the other three. Hillbilly: I know he deserved a lot better than this, especially after hearing more about him. I...Haven’t gotten to see much than the end of his chainsaw though. Blight: This dude’s singlehandedly bringing back my fear of needles and I thought I lost that with HRT- Also like, dude spits up orange fuckin everywhere. Michael: My Mans!! I always get a little excited knowing we’re up against him. It’s habit- It’s kinda weird to see him easily affected by like, palettes or flashlights though. Spirit: She seems like she could be nice when there’s some downtime. I’m also one of the few that can understand her well enough, which probably makes things easier. I found out she’s basically my age when I survived a trial by myself. I’d hope to hang out more sometime. Nemesis: God he’s so fucking tall. Kinda surprised it was Nemesis out of everyone that could’ve been brought, and also, kinda terrified? Still am kinda terrified. I’m surprised he hasn’t just torn up an entire map yet. His zombie minions are also annoying. Wraith: All this motherfucker does is roll up to pull me off Gens and Exist as a problem. I don’t see much of him outside of a Trial. Trapper: Motherfucker Incarnate. If the Entity lets us throw hands I’m fighting him first. Freddy: ....Gross. I liked the Nightmare on Elm Street series a lot, but...Freddy as a person? Ew. Especially this iteration. Demogorgon: Demopuppy!! He’s a good boy and he deserves to get treats. Even if the Treats are flesh....I wonder if he likes candy though. Trickster: Pretty!! He also Gives me DIO vibes because of the Jacket and the Knife throwing...Imagine if a killer could stop time...that’d be terrifying. Deathslinger: I wanna sit down and look at his gun more but I also feel like if I ask I’d just get shot on sight. Intimidating as hell but also cool. Mary: ....Still on the very complicated ‘Ex Girlfriend that murdered me’ State. It’s hard to avoid her though. Especially since she wants to get back together since we’re stuck here. Nurse: She does not help my fear of Hospitals, honestly. While she’s easy to go up against, it’s still eugh. Plague: I really, really hate her power. The Sickness and the Vomit is just- Eughhhhh- It just hits every bad sensory issue at once. Clown: ...I get killers are Killers and aren’t supposed to be good people but also like....Disgusting. Please Remove from the Realm. He’s just- ...Ew. Doctor: NOPE. NO. NEVER. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO.
