really thinking about my state of mind after reading emily shore’s essay, like that’s the second-most highest state of distress i’ve ever been in concerning this fandom, i cried. and while i’m incredibly glad that the essay was an eye-opener, it still feels like i lost something y’know? the level of worship and care i’d placed on feysand was such a comfort cuz they were my first hyperfixation that i thought good and great, and suddenly it’s like “hey this relationship you’ve modeled your own potential romantic life after is really fucked up. like on astronomical levels” it felt like someone i knew died. but anyways, rip 13-14 feysand stan haddie
this is all i have left of you
#like this shit was serious i made a new ao3 account because my old one had so many feysand fics bookmarked#and trying to delete them caused physical pain#also this is why i think sarah not moving the series up to new adult until acosf iirc is so so insidious#because acotar-acowar were put in middle and high school libraries#libraries with teenagers that don’t recognize the things sarah romanticizes are not romantic in the slightest#it’s not just a book when acomaf takes itself so seriously and introduces topics of domestic abuse and assault#but only for sarah to use as a prop she drops whenever she feels like#i mean she put a hotline at the end of acomaf ffs readers are meant to take her seriously when she says ‘‘hey this is abuse’’#and for readers who don’t/didn’t know better (me) it sets up a dynamic where abuse is only abuse when sarah says it is#like she is genuinely not just a shitty author a shitty person for what she’s done#acotar#anti sjm
