She smiled as she saw Sam make his way into the kitchen where she was finishing up the dishes while the others conversed over cake and drinks in the other room. She'd invited Jody, Donna, and the girls over for dinner and cake. A simple, normal birthday with people they cared about seemed appropriate. "You're not allowed to touch dishes on your birthday mister. You can thank me later after everyone's gone. I think Alex brought some games. Maybe we can play one of those when I finish up."
