"I don't know what to post." I’ve been thinking about this phrase a lot over the past year, especially amid what we've gone through in 2020. There's an easier way to come up with post ideas. You *really* only need three simple steps. I've spent the past 18 months obsessing over how to make content EASY for beauty professionals ever since my program #BeautyContentPro launched in June 2019. Eighteen months refining, listening, refining some more, getting feedback....tweaking, studying, refining again. I'll be sharing a NEW way of making content SIMPLE on Monday,January 4th in a free workshop I've created. And you're invited! Grab your seat at 2021content.com 😉 Link in bio! #beautycontentcoach #growonthegram (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJZ2p6oAP_K/?igshid=1h1i5rzf2xw2d

...AHEAD. This year, I had a lot on my plate - client business, membership/course business, masters at @huschoolofdivinity, teaching cycle at @lifetime.life... and being a mama to a bouncing toddler! ⠀ ⠀ I MUST do a better job of getting ahead of deadlines, due dates, meal prepping ahead of time, packing Josiah's swim bag the night before... everything!⠀ ⠀ “To be early is to be on time!” (My sorors know this one!)🔺⠀ ⠀ What's your one word for the new year? 👇🏽 Share below!⠀ ⠀ P.S. Someone will usually write "consistency" as their word for the year. If you want to be more consistent with your content and branding for your business, I would love to mentor you inside #BeautyContentPro! January enrollment is now open at the link in my bio! 😉 (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6vR5IAAzQa/?igshid=j4z7yltjp6xg

Who here has ever taken a break from social media? 🙋🏽♀️ As we head into 2020, I’m here to help you get back into the swing of things! ⠀ ⠀ Whether you haven’t posted on IG in a while or you haven’t emailed your list in months, here’s your plan:⠀ ⠀ (Tap the bookmark icon to save this post for handy reference!)⠀ ⠀ ▶️ 1. Just be REAL! It’s okay to say “I took a social media break for a minute, but I’m back!”... and then carry on business as usual. Most people understand that life happens and being a small business owner is A LOT of work. No one is judging you for being gone for a while, trust me.⠀ ⠀ ▶️ 2. Tell people what you’re working on now! There’s no need to give a 2,758-word recap on why you’ve been gone. Mention it briefly… and then talk about TODAY. Answer these two questions: What do you have going on now? What makes it important for your audience? ⠀ ⠀ ▶️ 3. Write about seasonal content. The great thing about beauty is that content topics repeat themselves every year! EVERY summer, you can talk about SPF tips. EVERY spring, you can talk about wedding season beauty. EVERY December, you can talk about holiday glam. ⠀ ⠀ (You can get seasonal beauty topics and beauty holidays already researched for you every month inside #BeautyContentPro! January enrollment is open now at the link in bio. 😉)⠀ ⠀ Let me know if you have any questions about content planning as we head into 2020! ⠀ ⠀ What would you like to work on and how can I help? Share below... I gotchu boo! 👇🏽 (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/B6lfwYPgzQL/?igshid=dyf8jifdxnks

Not gonna lie… I’m sure you’re looking at me sideways since I haven’t posted much this summer! How can the “content girl” not post any content?! This summer was a complete whirlwind, in a good way! What I’m most proud of is that I gave myself permission to do more content production BEHIND-the-scenes… which I LOVED. I worked on four big projects this summer which stretched me and enlarged the vision I have for our beauty community. I also started blogging again! Back in the day (over on the @nicolemariemelton page circa 2013) I used to blog A LOT. I look forward to writing more about life nowadays as a beautypreneur! First up… I share the story of my new content membership, Beauty Content Pro. It’s 1,200 words of goodness that takes you waaaaay back to 2017 when I started building the community that would eventually turn into #BeautyContentPro. Yes, it’s been TWO years in the making and I’m super proud of that! (#ifidosaysomyself) Visit blog and poke around! beautycontentstudio.com/blog. Also… catch me up! Tell me in the comments one accomplishment from this summer that you’re proud of.👇🏽 I want to hear what’s new! (Also, now that I’m back on the Gram…WHERE DID ALL THESE LOGO ARTISTS COME FROM AND HOW DO I MAKE THEM GO AWAY?) Happy Monday, beauty pros! This is your morning reminder that you can conquer anything that comes your way this week. As my mentor-in-my-head Marie Forleo says, "Everything is FIGUREOUTABLE." ⠀ ⠀ This has been my mantra the entire summer as I launched a BIG dream that had been on my heart for over a year, #BeautyContentPro. ⠀ ⠀ But I did it. I'm DOing it. (Yeahhh!) And I want you to go for those big dreams in your heart, too!⠀ ⠀ Tell me friends, what's one big goal that you're ready to cross off your list this week? 👇🏽 I want to stand in agreement for your dreams with you!⠀ ⠀ #BeautyContentPro ⠀ (at Washington, District of Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B1V_evAgG4q/?igshid=gbbe0me0gbuh

I pulled these photos out to show a client yesterday as we were talking through her influencer marketing strategy for her new product line. These are photos from my office and home product stash showing all the PR packages and free products I've been sent by beauty brands. ⠀ ⠀ I showed her these photos to illustrate just how many beauty pitches and product samples editors and influencers receive every single week!⠀ ⠀ If you’re a beauty pro or brand owner trying to get the word out about your products, keep in mind that a LOT of other brands are also sending PR mailings. The best way to get the attention of editors and influencers is to build relationships! If you send a PR box but there’s no relationship there, your box could end up just getting added to the stack. ⠀ ⠀ How do you build relationships in the beauty industry to get the word out about your brand? Here’s what has worked well over the past 10 years I’ve been in the beauty biz: ⠀ ⠀ (Hit “save” on this post so you can reference this list later!)⠀ ⠀ ▶️ 1. Attend beauty events! There are a ton of beauty shows, events, and expos held every month in cities around the country. (If you want me to send you a calendar of all the beauty events across the US every month, visit beautycontentpro.com to sign up!) ⠀ ⠀ ▶️ 2. When you meet someone, be sure to follow up! Get creative here so that you make a lasting impression. Try your best to follow up in-person by scheduling a drop-off of coffee and some fresh fruit to her office or a quick deskside meeting with a basket of her favorite healthy snacks. ⠀ ⠀ (Bring food to meet with people and they will never turn you down! I have personally tested this theory several times and it works!)⠀ ⠀ ▶️3. Keep your website and social media account names consistent across the web. The FIRST thing someone is going to do when they meet you nowadays… is GOOGLE you! Make sure you are easily “findable” online. What you say about what you do needs to match what someone sees on Google. ⠀ ⠀ What questions do you have about product mailings or networking in the beauty industry? Share below and I’m happy to help! 👇🏽⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #BeautyContentPro⠀ #BeautyContentCoach (at Washington, District of Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz2r-qags8a/?igshid=dvi4boczjurr

Alright y’all we made it through another month! I don’t know about you, but May was brutal! We often feel like we have sooooo much farther to go, when in reality, we should celebrate how far we've already come! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ My top wins were:⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️1. Finished spring swim season with Josiah. (He was named “most confident swimmer” by his teacher!)⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️2. Launched a new program in my business, #BeautyContentPro.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️3. Graduated from Destiny Leadership Academy at @yourdestinychurch. (A 20-week program for leaders in ministry)⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️4. Finished the semester with a 4.0! 🙌🏼 (I'm getting my Master of Divinity at @howard1867.)⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ What were your WINS for May? Several of you have shared with me that you struggle to stay consistent with your content.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I know there are days when you have no idea what you should be posting or you’re frustrated no one sees your posts.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ But I also know that you LOVE beauty and have a sincere desire to serve more women through your services and products! Sis, I am NOT going to let you give up on using a free (FREE!) marketing tool to grow that DREAM beauty biz that God placed on your heart. 😘⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Here are five ways to be more consistent and come up with content ideas. (SAVE this post so you can read it when motivation is low!)⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️ 1. What's on your calendar? Think about the events you have coming up that you can share with your audience. These can be business (such as a beauty expo) or personal (such as a birthday dinner). ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️ 2. What seasonal events are happening in the community? For example, it's currently prom and graduation season. These make great content topics for your beauty biz since people need glam for these events! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️ 3. What holidays are coming up? Think about national holidays (such as Mother's Day this weekend) and "Hallmark holidays" (such as National Hairstylist Appreciation day which was last week).⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️ 4. What's happening in the beauty industry? Think about all the beauty product launches, PR campaigns, or any trending topics that are hot within your niche. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ▶️ 5. What do people always ask you about? Think about the questions your clients, customers, or followers always ask you either in-person or via social media. Those make GREAT content topics!⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I created a new monthly membership called Beauty Content Pro that provides content ideas already researched for you, a content calendar, captions, and gorgeous beauty stock images delivered to your inbox every month! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Swipe through this post to see what's included for only $29 a month. Enrollment ends TODAY at midnight! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ If you need encouragement and a step-by-step plan to create content consistently, I would love to mentor you inside #BeautyContentPro! Visit the link in my bio to learn more. 😘⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ If you have questions on creating content, leave them below!👇🏽 (at Washington, District of Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxKN89unfGW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=jlq76hi43v0a

If you were looking for a reminder to plan out your content for the week, this is it! ⠀ ⠀ If you’re reading this and you haven’t planned out at least 3 posts for this week, do this quick 10-minute exercise:⠀ ⠀ ▶️1. Think about the very LAST question someone asked you about or in your business. Did your salon client from today ask you how to tie her hair up at night? Did one of your followers ask you what foundation you were wearing in your last post? ⠀ ⠀ When you get the question in your head, type it below! 👇🏽 I’m going to personally respond and give you your content ideas for this ENTIRE week! ⠀ ⠀ ▶️2. Scroll through your camera roll on your phone. What photos do you already have that can go with the posts for this week? We ALL have a photo in our phone that we never got around to posting!⠀ ⠀ ▶️3. Now that you have the post ideas (using your question from step 1 above) and you also have a photo (from step 2), I want you to add your posting days and time into your calendar. This is especially true if you struggle with consistency or if you are very busy (full time job, kids, activities, all-the-things… sis, I get it!). It needs to be on your calendar to keep you accountable!⠀ ⠀ I call this the FAQ Formula™ and I created this method to help you easily create the exact content your audience wants to see! ⠀ ⠀ Okay, comment below with the most recent question you were asked in your business. 👇🏽 Also, read through the comments to see exactly how I pull content topics from all your questions.😉 ⠀ ⠀ #BeautyContentCoach⠀ #BeautyContentPro (at Washington, District of Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvamA5SnoRT/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=2elais5dedeg
