The second he realizes, he is over the damn moon. He’s always found human courting to be a bit plain, especially considering the beautiful intricacies most animal rituals consist of. Delicate dances, howling song, scent marking, displays of dominance, etc. while Humans merely have awkward dates, small talk, a few gifts, but nothing substantial, nothing fun or engaging to the mind and spirit.

And it seems yours includes a game of chase. One he is all to happy to indulge in. It taps into a sort of primal desire he is eager to indulge in. It doesn’t take him long at all to learn your patterns, and soon enough he’s giving chase, almost looking like a beast himself the way his running form adapts to aid his stamina. He’s not trying to run faster than you, Laios is aiming to wear you out, to play your little game till you wear yourself out and he can catch you

Deuce - rabbit

Kalim - either an otter or a raccoon! I like the idea of a raccoon because they are both playful and smart animals, both of which Kalim is!! Also,,, imagine Kalim getting into all kinds of mischief because he has that raccoon tendency to be extremely dexterous and can open locked doors without keys and whatnot. But otter is also very good to imagine. Both animals are just very cute. <3

Jamil - cobra (naga Jamil is always so beloved to me.)

Vil - I have a few options for Vil because these are graceful and beautiful animals that I think would suit the equally graceful and beautiful Vil: white tiger, swan, or peacock! It's difficult to settle on one, so these are the options I've thought of.

Epel - a pony centaur!! He's waiting for the day when he'll finally become a strong centaur!

Rook - hmm,,, definitely something predatory. Maybe a hawk!

Idia - catboy. <3 I'm not sure which cat, but he is so catboy to me. Or maybe he's a wolf!!!!!! I should elaborate on wolf!Idia....

Reactions to Chaos Creator's Chapter 257

TL;DR - Air Energy purifier Cale. Cale's plate will become stronger. Cale and Aipotu discuss their plan. Cale about to rob Ryan's castle to get the Blue Wolf's divine item.

The Plans Cale and Aipotu discussed on what they should do. Their plan was, in order:

Steal the divine item "Howl of the Sunset" in Dragon Ryan's castle to contact the Blue Wolf god and have him as an ally

Visit the lair of Dragon Exion, the God of Earth, where Aipotu's World Tree (WT) is located, and close the hole in the WT where Aipotu's power was constantly leaking

Head to the lair of the Dragon Lord (DL), find the "control point" seal or device, and stop or destroy it

Use Aipotu's power to restore the powers of the world to normal

Plant the seed of the new WT in the right spot

Oh yes, three dragon lairs. Cale asked again if she thought this was easy, and Aipotu eventually admitted it was not... 🤣🤣🤣

To explain the numbered list above...

Aipotu said that among the cries she heard in Ryan's castle was the cries/howls of an animal. She guessed that it came from the Blue Wolf's divine item called Howl of the Sunset. She wanted Cale to steal that in order to resolve the beastkin's berserk problems, and also have a real god as their ally.

Number two... Aipotu said that their was a hole in the WT where her power was constantly leaking. She couldn't go there to close it because she had to stay here, so she asked Cale to do so. Cale agreed because he was going to clash with Exion anyway, given that the earth elemental had gone to that lair.

The third one... DL's attribute was time, and he used that to specifically "suspend" the time of all the powers of this world (mana, aura, etc.). A so-called "control point" was used to pull it off, which was either a seal or device. So Cale had to break or stop that control point in order for the suspended time to flow again.

Fourth... Once the suspended time was freed, the powers of the world would fluctuate abnormally like the time of the great upheaval centuries ago. So Cale would act as Aipotu's "passageway." He would receive her power, use it to reset the abnormal flow of the world's powers, and then return her power back.

As for the last one, there was not much explanation for it. Just plant the seed in the right spot. There was no information on whether Aipotu's WT was already dead, so Cale had to plant a new one. Or if there would be two world trees in the end.

Air Purifier Cale This was one of the funny parts today. For some reason, Cale kept thinking of an air purifier when Aipotu explained about how they would fix the powers of the world - sweep away the powers of the world with Cale's powers to naturally remove the debris. 😂

Even Cale was surprised why he kept thinking of an air purifier. He even had a slip of tongue, saying "air" instead of "power/energy" when they were discussing about cleaning up the powers of the world. 😂

One More Step Closer to Godhood Another funny part was Cale drawing closer to godhood. One of the benefits of Cale temporarily receiving Aipotu's power was that his plate would become stronger, to the point where traces of the reconnected broken parts of his plate would disappear.

Of course, he ignored the part about how it would "slightly" hurt in the process because Aipotu said that it would hurt a lot if he was a single-lifer like the three Choi family members. That's definitely a flag right there. 🤣 Cale, a world's perception of pain is different from a human, okay?

We also got a flashback to that part in the Central Plains arc about Cale as a god's vessel because he had a "world" inside him. Or GoB's offer that the easiest way to achieve balance was to become a god. Why were these mentioned again? Because another benefit of receiving Aipotu's power was that the powers inside him would become more balanced and stronger. And the 'world' inside him would become more beautiful... Let's face it, Cale. Whether you like it or not, you're going to become a god. 🤣🤣🤣

There was some part explaining why Aipotu was easily robbed of her power by the DL. She had been busy monitoring the God of War who visited her world and went around, not noticing that the DL had stolen her power until it was too late. As for where GoW went, she was unsure if it was places with war ongoing or if GoW came to create war.

Ending Remarks So much info today. But my goodness... Cale has to visit three dragon lairs. The difficulty level of Aipotu is really high. But for our Cale, he was just excited to rob Ryan's castle. Typical Cale. 😂

First time meeting Ren

Good morning, good afternoon and good night everyone! I brought another BTD fanfic that I worked on for a few days, and I confess that it gave me a bit of work. Anyway, the title gives it all away, and also, it can be considered a sequel to my first story. Enjoy it!

As your eyes felt heavy, the complete darkness of the basement was inviting, your eyelids slowly closing in the face of exhaustion and the pain of freshly inflicted wounds. Usually you weren't one to admit this, but your captor really made you feel the worst possible sensation with this last torture session. Maybe he was too excited about the discovery of your immortality and the possibilities that fact opened up for him. You still remember the smile of genuine euphoria on his face when he saw you returning from the dead, breathing like any other living being. At that point, everything went downhill.

Without anything else to do and with drowsiness already affecting you, you allowed yourself to sleep peacefully in the face of this situation. Even though you were still tied to a pole and the pain from the bruises continued to burn, you just wanted to escape it for a moment. Who knows, maybe you'll wake up in your bed and realize it was all just a terrible nightmare. And then, you would laugh and tell your friends about this madness like it was no big deal. If that weren't the case, then you'd be content to dream about cotton candy or pudding, it doesn't really matter.

These thoughts brought a smile to your face as your consciousness switched off, finally being able to rest from this fucking hell, your breathing becoming regular and deep.

Because you had nothing to guide you about the time, you didn't know how many hours had passed since you slept. The only thing you were sure of was the sound of soft footsteps coming down the stairs, as if someone wanted to go unnoticed. Well, bad for that person, because you noticed their presence the moment they entered the basement. Even so, you didn't bother opening your eyes to find out who it was.

“So you're that immortal girl he talked about so much? Damn, you look just like any other”, a young, male voice said, making you confused and forcing you to finally open your eyes to satisfy your curiosity. "Hehe, I knew you were awake”

Looking carefully, you noticed that it was a young, short boy with visible red hair. You would have considered him an ordinary boy if it weren't for his fox ears and tail. Goddammit, you had no idea your captor had another prisoner.

“If I'm not wrong, either you are cosplaying or you are a beastkin”, you stated your first observations. “And to be more exact, I'm a grown-ass up woman”, your tone sounded a little irritated.

“For a grown woman, you sure don't have the manners of a lady”, arms crossed, the tail twitched methodically, flat ears on the head and a judgmental look on his face.

You sighed, trying to regain your posture. “Right, sorry. I'm probably just taking my anger out on you”, you hoped your words sounded sincere, wanting to lighten the mood. “You know, can't expect someone to be in a good mood when trapped in a basement”

The beastkin looked to the side, seeming to relax for a moment. “It's alright, I know how it feels"

“Yeah, I kinda figured it out”, you said, referring to the scars and the collar around the boy's neck. Some of the injuries on his body were fresh while others were completely healed. “It seems like you've been experiencing it longer than I have”

“You can say that”, he closed the distance between you and him, crouching down to look at you closely from top to bottom. You hadn't paid attention before, but his amber eyes were very beautiful to look at. “Looks like he didn't bother to take care of your wounds. Do you want me to help you?”

“You are gorgeous”, those words left your lips without a filter, making him blush slightly. “I would be very grateful if you helped me”

“Right…”, still embarrassed by the compliment, the boy got up and started searching for something in the basement cupboards. With his back turned to you, you could see the fox tail more clearly and observe its movements from side to side, your eyes completely mesmerized by the animalistic feature. Come on, it's not every day you come across an almost human being with animal parts, this could be your only chance to see something like this.

“Enjoying the view?”, he asked as he grabbed a medical kit, turning to face you.

You immediately looked away, embarrassed that you had been caught staring for so long. “I wasn't looking at anything…”, you made the cliché move of denying your attitude.

“Let's say I believe it”, he chuckled as he crouched down again to treat your injuries, taking some objects from the medical kit. “This might hurt a little, so be prepared”

“Don't worry about me, go on”, you said in a confident tone. As he cautiously brought his hands closer to your wounds, you couldn't help but eagerly anticipate the touch. And no matter how much you mentally prepared yourself for the moment, the cloth moistened with alcohol still made you groan in pain, the burning sensation making you grind your teeth. Still, this was nothing compared to Strade's playtime, so you tried to do your best to look strong during the process.

You could see a look of admiration on his face as you occasionally glanced at him, your attention more focused on the treatment of the wounds. The striking color of your blood, so beautiful and bright… Was that why Strade got excited so quickly?

Well, whatever, the important thing is that your wounds were finally being disinfected, which would save you from future problems. Being already used to the pain, it didn't take long for him to take care of the rest, making you let out a sigh of relief.

“And it's done”, the beastkin spoke as he finished his work, getting up to put the medical kit back in the cupboard. “You surprised me, I thought you would at least complain about the pain”

“I couldn't make myself vulnerable so easily in front of a boy younger than me”

“Come on, I'm not that young”, he put his hands on his hips, a smirk on his face. “Maybe you're just too old”, he chuckled.

“You know, it's rude to ask a woman her age”, you looked at him with a smile on your face, enjoying the moment the two of you were sharing. “Besides, I've been through worse”, remembering the origin of the bruises sent shivers down your spine.

“I know exactly what you mean”, his eyes stared at the ground, his facial expression changing to a more serious one. “Anyway, I think I stayed here too long. He probably noticed that”, the boy stated as he approached the stairs.

“Wait!”, you called him, trying to be as quiet as possible so as not to attract attention. “Thank you for taking care of my bruises, and I'm sorry for being rude earlier”, you said softly while maintaining eye contact. “Can I at least know your name?”

The boy looked thoughtful for a moment, but then began to speak. “It's Ren. You can call me Ren”

Ren... It was a beautiful name to say. “It's a cute name, it suits you”, you stated without hesitation. “You can call me by my legal name”

“Really? And what would it be?”

“It's…”

As you spoke your name, you saw his smile returning to his face, seeing a sparkle in his amber eyes when he heard you, ears twitching along with his tail.

“It's a good name, I think it suits you”, he gave you a compliment before leaving. “Maybe I'll see you again, who knows”

“Yeah, maybe…”, you whispered as you saw the boy going up the stairs, hearing the sound of the door being locked seconds later. Without any more company, you sighed, looking at the blood-stained floor as you waited for something to happen again.

what about a laios and a chubby reader who has a fascinations with monsters much like him. (they big back it together actually lmfaoo) and reader begins to notice that they were getting chubbier (bc senshi's food is so bomb they can't help but get seconds.) i don't see much chubby readers for laios...which in itself is a crime but i digress 😔😔

dude see this type of ask like. makes me so confused bc like. canonically being chubby is ideal for dungeons! I was reading lore extras and kui mentions like being able to maintain weight (especially excess weight) in the dungeon shows off skill in surviving bc it means you didn’t have to be revived often (since being revived costs calories). And before dungeon expeditions you wanna get a little weight on you bc it preps you for what’s ahead.

plus like, in the world of dungeon meshi it’s difficult to have a body that’s “abnormal” if that makes sense? Like there’s a lot of different beauty standards. And it’s all based on just culture and influence but obviously that doesn’t apply to everyone. The only real out of the ordinary is beastkin (but like. I think as time goes on that becomes less abnormal or something since kui draws a lot of them just chillin around in extras so!) IDK. I’m rambling let me answer the prompt.

I honestly don’t see Laios treating you much differently than anyone else, at least in the first meeting and getting to know you. Body type doesn’t matter as much. But he shares your enthusiasm about monsters (duh) and happily chats your ear off about them.

and when it comes to food and cooking he’s SO happy to see you eat seconds (along with Senshi tbh he’s probably super happy and proud of himself lol). I think it shows how much you appreciate their effort and “unorthodox” ways. The fact you’re so enthused about eating makes them happy, but especially Laios. You know how much he emphasizes eating three meals a day plus snacks! When you eat your fill he’s just all *glowy smile with flowers*.

The world before me slowly unravels with each footstep I take upon lands I have yet to explore; with each path I take, I am filled with wonder and try to document each tale I am regaled with. There are grandiose stories of heroism carved into history, made by mortal beings, that one may find in tomes and scrolls in every part of the world.

During spring, as the flowers awaken from their hibernation and journey to warmer climes, I have made an unexpected friend in what others call a beastkin. I felt their gentle nature, the benign spirit that radiated from them, and welcomed them into my company in my search for more stories to document.

We crossed into Eastern Thalanan, an area I did not frequent without the company of Mister Fitzgerald, however, I knew well of the cemetery there, though my companion sparked the interest of a cloaked gentleman, who hurriedly approached me and immediately became interested in her.

He told me a story, not one of mortal men and their great feats, but of a solitary gobbue, one whose voyage took them afar, as the world felt like it was becoming undone. For years it wandered, and though its life was being extinguished with each step, life gathered upon it. My companion listened quietly as the brooding man continued to weave its remarkable, tragic tale. I became interested in seeing this living memorial upon its back, to paint it into memory and share it with my clan upon my return.

With his brief directions, we both set towards the east where we may find it and give it our offerings. Even though we could not communicate verbally, they knew the silent language of gestures and guided me toward our destination to offer our respects.

In this field of flowers, we see the monumental form as we descended a hill and quietly approached the area where it forever laid dormant. Within me something stirred, despite being accustomed to death, the sight of the gobbue caused my heart to tighten in my chest as I felt sparks of life radiating from its hunched back in the form of lavenders, roselles, and moss which cushioned the blooms and carpeted the hunched mound.

Life and death are inseperable.

My companion gingerly pushed the thorned vines away from the maw left agape on the deceased, allowing us to see past the veil of greenery. Its limbs have long become part of the earth, rooting itself to help keep it upright, its empty eyes still looked forward, as one could imagine it had been doing for years on end, leaving the land of Coerthas.

With her assistance, I was lifted higher, and closer so I may properly glance upon them with respect; was there that I would quietly observe the details of its passing and the beauty which shrouded it.

In silence, I offered it a prayer, for one could only fathom its hardships and understand the loss it felt as its world crumbled at its feet.

Its spirit is long gone, for not even I can feel its presence lingering in this plane, despite such, I will honor where he finally rests, a living shrine that he has created upon its back, in hopes that where his spirit lies, it feels lighter in knowing that another has come to learn of their plight.

Who knew dungeons would be cold. Especially this deep. Laios certainly didn't. Mossy's wings spread out a little, stretching, relishing in the cold, really. Being a white dragon beastkin did that to you... Laios shivered, trying desperately to keep himself warm, looking over at his partner, who was calmly trotting in the snow, tail dragging behind him. They had been separated from the party. But they'll be fine without the two of them, surely... Laios jumped when he felt one of Mossy's feathered wings touch him. "Are you cold, Laios?" he asked, tilting his head slightly. Laios nodded. He was freezing... So Mossy got closer to Laios, wrapping his wings around his beloved, trying to keep him as warm as he could. Laios was admiring Mossy's claws, too, he could never get over how sharp they were, how beautiful they were, how powerful they were. He could be crushed and gutted in an instant if Mossy desired... ...But he didn't. Mossy would never hurt Laios, and Laios admired that more than anything. Between the admiration and the warmth of the feathers of his love, Laios forgot he was even cold to begin with...

SO ROLESWAP WITH FALIN AS THE ONE GOING TO RESCUE LAIOS AFTER HE GETS EATEN BY THE DRAGON. things would be similar to in canon with some differences. Laios getting fuckin bit in half saving falin. Marcille being the one to teleport them all and feeling really guilty for leaving laios behind but she was unable to stomach the idea of losing falin when it was so close to happening… both of them still having chil tag along (chil is now the one pining for his missing touden btw. if you even care).

And meeting Senshi who is a bit more reserved about Falin’s magic but less wary because it’s gnomish and he knew gnomes at least. Falin and Marcille both doing dark magic together to resurrect him. (Um. Falin may have put herself in the dungeon a bit and well you see she might just be a beautiful puppy girl with gender affirming fangs and feathers and. um. the dragon cock) and

She is grappling with taking what she wants and no longer just being understanding and easygoing and protecting everyone else but having to confront seizing her own happiness and her own life and rescuing Laios even if other people don’t like him. i see her as being a fundamentally deeply enmeshed character and growing from that would be her plot arc. Namari would still leave but they might still have Shuro idk. Or maybe Falin would alienate him by saying something abt Laios mattering more and not caring about Shuro or if he loved her if he can’t save Laios then who gives a shit about him. And then he’d leave to get his retainers and prove himself to HER rather than his father I think. Yeah that’s pretty good

And ANYWAYS falin is already a chimera so the changeling shrooms maybe don’t affect her or maybe she just gets like. Um. you know how izutsumi just becomes a different race of beastkin. Don’t look at me. And then Marcille is still a half foot and she gets soooooo overwhelmed. The speculative bio of it all. The undocked long tail. (Chil could share a little lore about them traditionally being docked at adolescence to become an adult to avoid stigma of being considered basically beast men etc [and falin would be like ooooh shit that’s why he’s so weird about eating demihumans huh bcuz some ppl consider half-foots basically as that.] but also that more modern half-foots are eschewing the tradition... And anyway overwhelmed Marcille just wants Falin to take care of her so Falin carries her away in her big strong chimera tallman arms and keeps brushing her whiskers and well. They simply get so curious about each others’ bodies (no chance to explore really with the pace of the dungeon and staying ahead of Others), that they simply must bang it out. Falin can smell her.
