I kept getting tagged in this #beautifulwomenchallenge and refused to take part. I love reading them all and reflecting on what true beauty is. I just never wanted to do it because, as much as I love love looove taking pictures (anyone who's around me can vouch for that) I HATE taking selfies, pictures of my self make me so insecure. I'm the worse critic when it comes to my self. My cheeks are too round, my nose is too wide, my face is too flat, my eyes are droopy, my hair is thin, my eyebrows will never be "on fleek" lol the list goes on and on... I'm also gently reminded daily of the love Heavenly Father has for each of his children and how much it must hurt for him to hear us critique ourselves. As I watch my baby cousins become teens it halfway breaks my heart to hear that they care about what the world thinks of them. They're so beautiful to me in every way and it makes me realize I'm not being the best example of loving yourself either. The homie, President Uchtdorf says it the best, "...He loves you, not just for who you are, but for the person of glory and light you have the potential and desire to become!" We are so much more than the likes we receive on instagram or if we are wearing the most on trend items. Let's all remember that being a girl/woman is so empowering and to #loveyourselfie so pose for the camera and lemme see ya grills! 💛
