I recently followed your blog and am really enjoying it! But as a newbie I have a one question: how do they weigh the bears at the end???

they don't, as far as i know -- any actual weights you see are likely estimates.

Fat Bear Week is about much more than just the factual, numerical amount that the bears weigh. its about voting for whichever bear you feel is fattest. is that the biggest of the big boars? is it whoever you feel gained the most weight, numerically? what about extenuating circumstances, like bears who are elderly, or injured, or caring for cubs? maybe you think the winner should be the one who gained the most weight proportionally, compared to where they started the year -- in which case you'll *definitely* be voting for a cub! or maybe, maybe, you've just decided that you like one bear more than the others and you'll vote for them no matter what.

That's the beauty of Fat Bear Week, IMO.

Kokoro was one of my favorite songs, got me through depression as a pre-teen, then again as a teen, and once again- now as an adult 😅

Danny gets dared by Tucker to possess a care bear the next time he gets summoned. Danny took the dare in stride and bought a Funshine bear purely for when he gets summoned. Needless to say being a color inverted care bear was not how he thought he'd meet the Justice League

Where did 910jr learn that cute lil paw from?

910jr learned the magic paw from her mother, 910, who learned it from her mother, 409 Beadnose.

Beadnose fished the lip of the falls quite a lot, and when she did, she would raise a front paw, often placing it across her chest. She would then use this paw to help her catch the fish -- knocking them closer to her head, or stabilizing her grip on the fish. When Beadnose raised her cubs (like 909 and 910), she taught them this technique, and now those cubs she had have cubs of their own (like 909jr and 910jr) who are carrying on their grandmother's legacy.

there's a few other family trees with notable behavioral traits that carry through the generations, like how members of the 708 Amelia family tree tend to stand on their hind legs for prolonged periods of time, especially when they're in the lower river. But the Magic Paw that the Beadnose family has is not just a particularly cute example of such familial behaviors -- it's also a very sweet reminder of the legacy of 409 Beadnose, the well-loved two time Fat Bear Week champion who was last seen in 2018.

Rest in peace, Beadnose. Your legacy carries on to another generation.

how is something supposed to shampoo (remove dirty and oils) and condition (add oils) at the same damn time.

sincerely, someone who spent a decent amount of their life using 3 in 1 but skin condition and hair being weirf said NOPE and switched over. aka bear

im sorry idk how they work it's just a quick fix in uni for when I'm too busy or when the mental health is not healthing. i do have regular soap and shampoo too for the days i wanna take a long self indulgent shower dw
