Unstoppable urge to be visibly queer vs. immovable fear of losing my kid
#technical talks#like I have a pronoun pin right#and I got an apron to use at work and I was gonna decorate it with all my pins#including my they/them pin#unfortunately I work in a church daycare in a southern red state#one of the ones that equates transness with drag with a sex crime against children#which is a felony now :))))#my coworkers seem nice enough. the parents seem nice enough. i would fucking LOVE to be able to casually wear my pin and be quietly out#at work#unfortunately if the wrong person saw they could call the cops and I could lose my job; my kid#be put on the SOR and be banned from the general vicinity of Any Kid for Life; possibly have my kid pulled from her daycare; and even withou#the legal or official repercussions I could still just :))) be hatecrimed :)))))#possibly in front of my kid#that itself is probably the thing I could deal with the easiest#my personal safety is whatever yk#and I could explain it to her later and that would be fine#i would not be able to handle losing her
