it’s been nearly a decade and this shit is still stuck in my brainnnn
#the thing about them is that no they were never publicly dating no it’s nobody’s business if they ever were (despite their denials)#but they KNEW that there was a big chunk of their fans who were convinced it was true love and that they were soulmates#and BOY did they make it their brand. like knowingly and deliberately. like they played it up.#they had a reputation for being INCREDIBLY good at programs with romantic themes/stories. that was their bread and butter.#and i’ve never been a ‘ship-real-people’ person but i GET why some fans felt frustrated#bcus if they really wanted to stop the speculation and rumours all they had to do was. NOT do programs like this.#but they didn’t stop bcus… well……. they knew what people wanted from them.
