i miss video stores. they were the greatest place on god’s green earth to me as a child and i think we did the youth of today a grave injustice, getting rid of them the way we did

#misc.#one of my first recollections is walking into a blockbusters with my mother #it’s an auto parts shop now and every time i go past it in town i stare wistfully #but also my family rented dvds well into my childhood. i must’ve been 12 when we stopped #bc we had one local dvd store that was run by someone my old stepdad knew #and it was heaven in there. i remember everything abt it #it was a dingy little hole in the wall and they had tags on the dvds #and you brought it up to the cashier and they’d give you the dvd #and they had snacks and stuff in the corner #and i’d always get an arizona iced tea when we went to get a movie. it was HEAVEN
