Rebel Admirals Rex & Kalani from an au where the clone and droid rebellions were a bit more successful

Rex's fleet (rebel fleet Remembrance) - the whole 'ahsoka's not actually a jedi' thing worked and most of the 332nd got dechipped. (maul still escaped, but they managed to patch up the maul-damage before he got to the hyperdrive, so the Tribunal is mostly okay). the extra resources & manpower allowed the clone rebellion to operate on a much larger scale, and they eventually allied with pantora as a whole with the backing of senator chuchi. cody and later wolffe brought their imperial fleets to join the rebellion about a year later (after the chips started wearing off).

the fleet (one venator (the Tribunal), four star destroyers, associated clones, gunships, fighters, and tanks, plus a handful of stolen imperial walkers and shuttles) formally joined the rebel alliance around 10bby.

(rex got put in charge of the fleet because he's the least traumatized out of all the surviving officers. cody ran off to live with obi wan on tattooine.)

Kalani's fleet (rebel fleet Independence) - something happened and he and kraken managed to steal a chunk of dooku's ships (and later a good chunk of whatever was left of grievous' fleet on utapau) after his death. they essentially got lost in the chaos of o66, since the rest of the separatists thought they were deactivated after the shutdown order, and escaped with essentially a full separatist fleet. since they were active instead of stuck on agamar, kalani noticed that the leader of the empire happened to be the republic's supreme chancellor, and decided the empire was the new target of the CIS army. he later encountered the clone rebellion and decided that since the clones had effectively deserted the republic and were now fighting the empire, they were therefore allies.

the fleet (one dreadnought, three cruisers, one stolen imperial carrier, associated droids, fighters, transports, and tanks) formally allied with the rebel alliance around 10bby, with the backing of serenno and raxus secundus.

self-reblogging this because something hilarious occurred to me today.

as mentioned above, preceding this scene is one where beviin and medrit make boba swap his durasteel plates for brand new beskar ones. medrit even customizes the new armor to have a piece that protects his neck from lightsaber blows and paints it in boba's favored shade of green.

but

boba briefly grouses that it looks too new. the new armor doesn't have his old armor's battle damage.

very soon after this, he goes off for his first sparring session with jaina, as described above. his first sparring session where he executes the very risky maneuver of deactivating his lightsaber and punching her in the stomach, which causes her to lash out at him with her own lightsaber in alarm, creating a big ugly scar on his brand new armor.

so, boba didn't like that his new armor looked too new. so he went and terrorized a jedi into marking it up for him...

highlights:

the fact that the scene starts with boba noticing that jaina is looking at him with "real compassion" and being like, "nuh-uh. absolutely not. putting a stop to this right the fuck now."

the way jaina draws her lightsaber all carefully like she's trying not to trigger Man With Notorious Beef Against Jedi, and he just pulls his own lightsaber out of nowhere like, "oh yeah i have one of those too :^)"

(i need everyone to know that this encounter was prefaced by an extended scene of beviin and medrit fussing over boba's shitty durasteel armor and basically forbidding him from going to spar with jaina until he swapped it out for something more lightsaber-resistant. so, after all this build-up of, "you CANNOT afford to take risks with someone wielding a lightsaber, what, are you TRYING to end up like jango," the fact that boba just casually pulls out a lightsaber of his own is extra funny to me)

(everyone is being so mindful of the fett family's traumatic history with lightsabers and meanwhile boba is just like, "EXPOSURE THERAPY OR NOTHING, LET'S FUCKING GO")

boba holding the lightsaber "like a hammer." can't decide if he's holding it like that bc it's genuinely more comfortable for him or if he's intentionally playing up his inexperience to get jaina to lower her guard.

the way he stalks towards jaina while letting the tip of the lightsaber drag against the ground. that's so menacing and i love it.

all that build-up and once he's in actual striking distance he just deactivates the lightsaber and sucker-punches her in the stomach LMAO

the fact that he uses the lightsaber as a FUCKING KNUCKLEDUSTER

he's such a mean and horrible old man. i love him <3

hhhhhhh I can’t decide if I should find a new job or not. I don’t want to deal with my shitty management anymore and I’m literally so anxious about my shift tomorrow (the only reason im not literally crying about it rn is the cool assistant manager is working with me and she’s the only one not in hot water, and doesn’t take any shit so it’s unlikely anything bad will happen tomorrow and she has jurisdiction to like. send me on my break) but at the same time I’m so anxious about the idea of finding a new job, applying, interviewing, training, and then not having two years of experience and seniority and shit anymore, for the job to possibly suck just as much or more. I hate this
