Idk if this would be good or terrible, but imagine a found-footage Phantom of the Opera adaptation
#bc the original novel is that but the 1911 equivalent#it'd keep the frame narrative of someone editing this footage together who's obsessed with the story and wants to find the truth#in the original he makes out like he interviewed a lot of his characters so you'd have to be clever about redoing it#as them capturing stuff in the moment#so much of the plot is flashbacks that I'm not sure it could work#I just want to see an adaptation that's finally faithful to the spirit of the novel
