watching a video of someone playing an older game (not even THAT old) and constantly having to hear them go 'omg can you imagine how much more pretty and good this would be if it ran at 60+ fps with highest end graphics of the current modern games and in 4k???' over and over while also commenting on some graphics looking slightly muddy and how ugly and shitty 30 fps is

and i just cant help but get incredibly annoyed at that, cant you just appreciate the game for what it is?? the constant focus on smoother everything and graphics so detailed it looks faker than the real world is such a limited view on games- more polygons and higher res textures doesnt equal better ffs

i, and i might out myself with an unpoluar opinion here, but remakes are in my opinion often rather unecessary, just rerelease the old game, just make it avaible for people, officially, you dont have to reprogramm the entire thing!! maybe upscale it a little so it doesnt get stretched into a blurry mess if possible but even that i will work with no problem!! there are cases where its pretty much an entirely different game (FF7?) and i get seeing one of your fav old games get some new paint can be really cool, not arguing against that- what i dont like is that those remakes replace the original as that isnt made avaible, only the new version- like i wish i could play windwaker on my switch, but i cant stand the "HD" remake of it and i know if it ever were to get ported it will only be that version like the original doesnt exist anymore and my earlier point that many people consider more fps, more polygons, more resolution as automatically better

i dont need games to be running at 60+ fps, 30 is enough, sure id like it to run smoothly on that without huge drops, but when its stable 30, why would i need more? more often than not i prefer simplified graphics bc they often focus on the most important parts of what they are trying to achieve or work with an interesting style to compensate and i LOVE THAT, also id like to not have to download 100+ GB even when i would turn it on its lowest settings anyway, save me the space- and that is if i even got hardware that can run it at all, my computer struggles with slime rancher and i dont have the funds to buy the newest consoles nor computers

im not against remakes per se, but the fact that the old will more often than not disappear entirely and remain unavaible forever and that higher end graphics are automatically seen as better drives me nuts

For the manwa au, what if reincarnated Cindy was instead the "My fav deserves nothing but the best and this story treated them horribly" kind of fan... directed at Yuu? Instead of Fl Cindy trying to butter up the boys and trying to take Yuu down, it's a Cindy (RCindy?) being the most hyperactive cheerleader for Yuu, kinda to an obsessive point, and taking every opportunity to be snarky/bash on the boys for the 'crime' of being rude to Yuu. Maybe she might try to convince Yuu to stop being friends with/get over the boys (results highly vary) or try to obstruct them trying to rekindle the friendship/relationship? Kind of obsessive, lowkey kind of a toxic friend in that shes... intensely enabling/weirdly protective. I could see Yuu being uncomfortable with that though, so maybe she would turn it down a peg. Based on the snippet of Crewel with Yu I could see him being down for this relationship in that he would think it was a good thing for Yuu to have a yes man willing to do practically anything for her, but on the other hand he might be wielded out if she's too intense/her station might be a factor on how much he let's her get away with lol. Just came to mind bc I've read these kinds of manga before snd thought hmm... but what if that taken to its extremes though.

If that's how RCindy is from the start, this is a game changer because Yuu would defend the boys character from her insults 9/10. If RCindy is speaking truths or not, the boys could get their epiphanies much earlier. If not, they just learn to see RCindy as somehow WORSE than Yuu.

Crewel would agree to the friendship but make sure that Yuu knows RCindy isnt a 'friend' she's a tool, which is why she's gotta put up with her. She'll be useful down the line and if not, Yuu is free to kick her ass to the curb once she's fully joined the social part of high society.

And its actually funny. Because while the boys learn to see Yuu in a new light that leads to their romantic feelings, Yuu only realizes in adulthood she's had massive crushes on them since childhood. So RCindy telling her as a child to get over them would go completely over Yuu's head 🤣🤣🤣

RCindy would be treated as Yuu's unwanted lackey that Yuu honestly doesn't even like. But Yuu can bat her eyes, and RCindy will do whatever she asks, so that's pretty great.

sorry i know this is coming from nowhere but please tell me about izumi i deleted the game before i ever learned anything about him 💔

oh my god ok. don't apologise I'm always always ready to infodump about my favs 💖

so. izumi is part of knights ofc and he's actually the person who made the unit along with leo back when their previous unit chess broke down. long story. he's also a model and has been modelling since his childhood which is where he first met naru and makoto.

he is uh. a bitch. in the nicest way possible he's such a bitch. in lionheart he describes himself as someone who's unable to be honest with himself so he comes off really harsh and rude but he does genuinely care about the people he's close to especially knights and also makoto.. sora describes him as having a very kind color and if sora says it you know it's true

his relationship with makoto is uhhhh. obsessive. they were really close as kids when they were modelling but lost contact due to I believe izumi changing agencies? something like that. makoto quit modelling and now they're at yumenosaki together and after the events of checkmate (izuleo relationship got really codependent and they were doing Very Bad mentally and leo ended up not coming to school for months bc he was Really Depressed) izumi got even more attached and obsessive over makoto as both a replacement for leo leaving and, to quote the wiki, was depending on him for happiness. also he kidnapped makoto at one point. anyway makoto was obviously Very Uncomfortable with this. over time now izumi is a bit more stable nd leo is back and they're less unhinged he's giving makoto more space and their relationship is less. yeah. but still not perfect like izumi is still a little obsessive.

I'd talk in detail about his relationship with leo but I wrote another whole thing on that so I'll just talk a bit, basically they met in first year became friends and it developed into leo seeing izumi as his muse and izumi relying on this for validation because he is honestly kinda insecure but would never let anyone know that bla bla bla leo left bla bla leo came back and now they're good! izumi still blames himself for leo breaking during the war and leo feels guilty for hurting izumi and izumi still struggles with loving and being loved but he's learning and they're messy but they're trying 💖 me when characters are healing and growing as people... aughgh... love them to death I reread lionheart earlier and was having a category 5 izumi moment he makes me feel unwell...

rn he and leo are living together in florence where they're working on modelling and composing respectively and they come back to japan semi frequently for knights activities

he's also really good friends with naru they also met as kids when modelling and have remained friends she will counter his bitchiness with her own <3 but they do genuinely have a level of understanding of eachother that no one else gets like there's a few scenes in euthanasia that really show it especially at the end where they talk about a shared desire to be adored.. one of my fav scenes in the entirety of enstars I love you euthanasia

izumi was really spoiled as a kid and his parents were really protective over him (only child moment) but because of that they were always the ones deciding things for him and he had very little agency of his own, he says in next door how his parents just wanted an ideal doll like child who's do as he was told, they loved him but they didn't love HIM if that makes any sense.

he's a huge tsundere (they say it about him in canon im allowed to say it too) even to leo who he's closest to like for leos birthday line he says "I just happened to be in the country it's not like i came just for you..." and near the end of main story he says texting leo is annoying because he takes a while to reply and loses his phone and I don't like waiting it's not that I'm worried when he takes long to reply...

also he is canonically a cat person and the official character introduction essentially describes him as cat coded which brings me great joy and he hates the summer... just like me fr.. and more fun facts he plays tennis and can knit!! a girlie of many talents!

anyway I think I will leave it here for now if you want to know more I am ALWAYS happy to talk about izumi.. he's my favorite character of all time and means the world to me

I wasn't super baby, I was only 5 when it came out and my brother bought it. But I think I played it by myself the first time when I was like 9 or 10. I don't remember how I felt playing it, as I said, my English wasn't the best, but I got drawn into the world and story either way, without knowing details.

And so happy when other OG fans of Clerith exist, I get Remake just made it super easy to fall in love with them, but tiny pixel!Clerith ;;

And I do feel kinda bad for being anime only fan, haha. I just didn't read lots of manga when I was younger, especially not longer ones, so just never started. lavender haze - i got it the first time. nothing bad to say about this track tbh! really like the melodies, it's catchy and feels fresh and new. well, it kinda reminds me of false god in a sense? maybe it's just the sultry nature of the track. 8/10

maroon - this fuck ass song. the metaphors are giving "high schooler trying to write poetry" at times, the chorus is just. . . no, thank you! earlier on twitter i said that it feels like too much and not enough at the same time? her vocals are clearly the focus, but i don't particularly enjoy the melodies on this one, so. . . don't like the production either actually! it's kinda like afterglow but worse in every way to me. the outro's nice though, i love her voice! still i skip it every time it comes on shuffle and roll my eyes every time i see maroon praise on the tl. 4/10

anti-hero - actually a lot better than i remember! that sexy baby line still catches me off guard every time tho. the bridge is very funny TO ME! i kinda see the vision now i think. maybe! idk. the verses are kinda there, don't really do anything for me (which is actually a problem with most track on this record, now that i think about it). nonetheless it's like a 7/10

snow on the beach - genuinely a great track, even though i never get the urge to listen to it. love how dream-like and hazy and Cold it sounds! like a particularly frosty night in the middle of december. it's a very purple track as well, if you know what i mean. i like it! some of the lyrics are questionable ("life is emotionally abusive" is just not it for me SORRY).

ALSO the "weird but fucking beautiful" part is incredibly annoying to me . . .something about it is so lana that i just can't stomach it, it makes me physically cringe. when i do listen to the song, it's always the clean version lol. also i just couldn't give less of a shit about lana and i'm glad she didn't get a verse! 8.5/10 tho, a beautiful track.

you're on your own, kid - i get what she was going for, and if it weren't for jack i would've loved this one a lot more bc lyrically and vocally it's very very nice! unfortunately they both hate me. oh well! 8/10

midnight rain - love the concept, but the execution could've been wayyyy better tbh. lyrically it's a bit corny at times and production-wise it's nothing to write home about, but it's not outrageously horrible, so i guess a 6/10?

question...? - i have the bad taylor swift songs enjoyer gene so TO ME this isn't half as bad as everyone makes it out to be. the bridge is meh, but the melodies are very fun! lyrically, it's kinda all over the place, but i still get it . 7/10

vigilante shit - look. didn't i just say i have the bad ts songs enjoyer gene? it could've been in my top 5 if the production was even a tiny bit interesting. lyrically? it's atrocious. unbelievably corny, this weird mixture of edgy and awkward only taylor can achieve. in other words, PERFECT !!! it kind of reminds me of lwymmd, if lwymmd was like 3 times less cunty and camp, and like 10 times less interesting production-wise. vocally, she delivers though! very sexy, playful and fun!!! we could've had it all!! jack had other plans, i guess. 6/10

bejeweled - really fun. one of my favs since day one, actually! loooove the production on this one! the synth (? i don't know shit about instruments btw) makes me think of those 3-in-a-row games and it's just Perfect! love those "nice!" moments, love the chorus, love the bridge. in the famous words of Taylor Nation, let's reclaim the land, uk swifties! 8/10

labyrinth - too boring, sorry. i've seen someone say that if this song were on folklore, swifties would "give it the attention it deserves", and i couldn't disagree more. it's just not It lyrically, sorry. 5/10. SORRY. genuinely don't understand why she put this on the record instead of something like would've, could've, should've, or the great war or even glitch (which would make the bejeweled -> karma transition seamless. do you guys think we'll ever get a solid ts album tracklist that makes sense? i doubt it.)

karma - again, i got it the first time. verses are boring and if i could, i'd only listen to the chorus+the bridge, but it's still soooooo FUNNNN!!! like. karma is a cat purring in my lap cause it loves me. that chorus melody is Insane and her vocal delivery is top notch. she's a pop mastermind. 8/10 only because the verses suck otherwise this would've been a 10 and i mean it. i like pop music a lot btw.

sweet nothing - really sweet. doesn't make me feel like i'm slipping into a coma, unlike labyrinth. beautiful piano, beautiful melodies! like a 7/10 maybe. should've been a tad shorter i think.

mastermind - i wish it didn't suck this bad production-wise. i think the concept's really fun - a song about being a mastermind from a woman known to leave easter eggs everywhere she goes. the idea of working hard behind the scenes trying to construct a perfect love story for you and your lover... i get it. unfortunately, it's also . . . boring. 5/10.

not gonna do the 3am tracks and hits different because they're all great and i don't feel like writing out "this has great lyrics!" 7 times in a row. i do have to say that dear reader is the worst thing ever because JACK ANTONOFF. like it just makes me want to throw up how much i like the lyrics and how shitty the song sounds. goddamit.

I don't know if this'll make things feel better or worse but the whole remake hype train was what got me into the resi series, my new fav ship and introduced me to the original. Honestly, i've come to appreciate the original a lot more and i honestly like some parts better than the remake. (you're right hand comes off? - absolutely iconic)

I do understand how it feel when something your into for so long gets a new installment or addition that drastically changes things up in fandom. I think i'd feel exactly the same way as you if I was introduced to re4 earlier. You're feelings are perfectly valid and i'm sorry that your enjoyment of things in fandom has not quite been the same.

I am planning on using more of the og canon and stuff in some of my upcoming fanworks. I love how in fan fiction you can pick and chose the pieces you like best and create something new and exciting:) Also, although the new game is what got me into resi, seeing that original knife fight scene on yt is what got me into metaltango! Some of my favorite metaltango works i've read were either based on the og canon or came out long before the remake. So I just wanted to say that love and appreciation for the original is not completely dead, although it seems like the newer installment has taken over things a bit.

I hope you feel better soon, I know how taxing it feels to have creative or motivational slumps in life. I don't really know if there's anything to be said to make things feel better in the moment, but I've found that trying out something new or taking a break can help a bit. ♥️ (i'm not intending to give unsolicited advice or anything, these are just some or my experiences)

first off, the most important thing: "your right hand comes off?" is 100% brilliant and one of the best lines in video games ever :'D

it's absolutely awesome that the remake has gotten new people into the fandom and like i said, it's probably a really nice game with really nice characters! it's just so... everywhere right now 😅 i've been trying to blacklist it so i won't at least need to see it so much but people aren't really tagging so most of the time 90% of my dash is the remake. i think if it wasn't so in-my-face all the time i wouldn't feel so bothered by it tbh. (and i don't even remember when i last read metaltango bc it's so remake focused now, and that makes me sad)

and you're 100% right, appreciation for the original is not completely dead! which is of course very lovely. and maybe in time, things'll even out a bit, and the original will start appearing more in fandom spaces too. let's see if i manage to hang on that long :')

Since hes relevant to her ill go out of order and say him now: the one in the middle is lawrence nightingale, part of hope's crew, her best friend, a musketeer. (Hes my main pirate for playing, hes lvl 70) He has a bit of a sour disposition and he and hope argue a lot but they care for each other a lot. I also ship him with kane hehehe

Ok middle left is catalina, like i mentioned earlier. Actually ive posted him before, hes a catalan shapeshifter who likes to pretend to be a human amongst people to troll them mostly teehee :P hes a (lvl 46) witchdoctor in game but in his lore he just knows some magic.

Next to catalina is the aforementioned Mina mitchell, shes a (lvl 65) swashbuckler and an emo girl. I dont have much lore for her to be honest but shes just so cute and awesome. She has spiky short twin pigtails. I think ive posted a drawing of her on this blog before under her tag mina

Middle right (orange) is Maeve, shes part of my new main crew! (The other 2 arent in game) shes a (lvl 7, bc i KEEP REMAKING MY BUCKS) buccaneer. Shes also part fox and from marleybone! shes really cool and awesome and sweet and shes best friends with shannon (leader of her crew).

Right is Stormy Edwards, hes kinda new and also his character looks nothing like his actual design lol other than that hes green. Hes a privateer (lvl 7, again i keep remaking themmmm) and hes EVIL!<3 he also has a toxic gay thing going on with vito (witchdoctor with maeve and shannon) and hes just kinda fucked up :P

34: what are the hardest and easiest parts of the game for you?

OK SOOOOO I love the strategy of it all TBH. It was really hard at first but ive picked it up pretty well i think. The hardest part was figuring out how to do gear correctly and what stats to prioritize, which im probably still not perfect at but i think ive gotten it down now. I also hate ship fighting 😭 But yeah easiest is probably just combat i love it i love the battle system. And to be MORE specific ranged combat is easiest for me.

cutely dumps my opinions on various art mediums i use hehehe i love arting yall

okay so first up the og, traditional

i dont use colors a lot bc i suck at using color palettes also i dont have any good material for that so i only do pencil doodles/drawings/art or ballpen doodles maybe sometimes full ballpen art and this is one of the mediums my art looks best in because i think being able to see the whole canvas while still focusing on the parts im drawing and still making accurate lines and stuff plays a big role in making my art look better also the lack of undoing because i actually have to take time to fix my mistakes and think about em in the first place it makes the process so much better honestly, p sure the only cons for me are its messy also i can burn through sketchbooks figuratively bc of how much i draw

NEXT fan favorite digital!! but with my fingers, ill be talking abt 2 programs here, ibis paint and whiteboard fox first we'll have ibis

honestly one of my mediums i do worse in mostly because of my subconscious perfectionism always undoing things and zooming in so much in just one little area that i forget about the whole canvas and alsoo the amount of choices for colors, brushes, and just options is pretty overwhelming, those are absolute game changers if you have proper intuition on how to use each of those but sadly i dont! so my art may turn out absolutely horrendous!! :33 it actually has made my skills degrade over time but its still one of my go-tos because its just so easy to use and even if theres a lot to use you dont have to use all of it i usually just have one brush for doodles and stuff and i'd prolly just pick a random color or the main color of the characters im gonna draw or just pure black basically doodling is easy as hell on ibis, making actual full art isnt so easy, i tend to overfocus on the little things and also fuck anatomy and like not really get anywhere unless i have motivation to finish it e.g. yesterday i tried to do that art challenge of an ava character in different styles and when i was doing the human version i started to over focus on the eyes and face so i ended up with a basic ahh body with green hair and the most like unsettling realistic(?) eye ever also the mouth looked like shit so ended up scrapping all that and just gave up so yeeah, but arting is easier when using different tools like i like using the lasso pen because its fun and pretty easy to use for me! also it limits me more which in turn makes me have to get more creative :33 also pretty colors in ibis go vroom, also i dont have any opinions on ibis using a stylus because i dont have any! :33

in conclusion for this: ibis (finger only) is too overwhelming for me to make actually good art using anything other than a lasso tool, also doodling is easy on ibis

third!! MY FAVORITE! DIGITAL ON COMPUTER USING A PEN TABLET!1!1!1!!

okay so the program i use for this is clip studio paint!!! the only downsides really are back pain also i cant always use it ( my dad is borrowing my pen tablet and i dont have my own monitor yet ), and some tools can be confusing, BUT ANYWAYY GOOD SIDES!! BASICALLY TRADITIONAL AND DIGITAL COMBINEDDD i can see my whole canvas even if im drawing a tiny detail so i dont mess shit up, drawing feels SO much more satisfying this way and also feels more "professional" and that makes me happy :DD and happy = more motivation!!! i think!!! i actually havent used this medium in so long because of a reason ive already stated earlier so my opinions will be short because i forget easily :3 ANYWAY i feel better about coloring on computer rather than in ibis for some reason like i said i forgor and using references feels so easier and it makes me improve even more!! finally ive run out of ideas and reasons to add on prolly cuz im sleepy sooo this will be the last you'll hear about all these enjoy while you can!/jjj but really ill not have any motivation to continue so ill be leaving all this for yall bc i wanted to :33

HECK YES FALLOUT NEW VEGAS MENTION ON THE TIMELINE!!!

What's been your favorite mission you've gone through so far? This is one of the few games where I thought the main storyline was just as alluring as the side quests, so I'm interested on getting your take on what has been the most fun/interesting so far. :)

YES I GET TO TELL THIS STORY ok so one of the first things i did after recruiting yes man was check out the ultra luxe cuz i hadnt spent much time there yet and i wanted to be like "haha our honeymoon in vegas, let's go gambling" and we quickly met heck gunderson at the bar who gave us his quest to find his son ted. i start asking around the employees and we learn about the rumors that the white glove society are cannibals, and that there's a detective investigating another disappearance at the hotel. so we go up to his room and hes Dead on the floor

and im like "shit i gotta investigate" and as i approach his body i hear yes man go "a pulled trigger's a happy trigger!" and im like "what the fuck are you doi- YES MAN NO THOSE ARE EMPLOYEES" and now there's 2 white glove guys dead right outside the hotel room too. i knew if yes man killed them they mustve been hostile anyway but im thinking we're gonna get in trouble for this. and then i realized this is the perfect opportunity to do the "take out the guards and steal their clothes for a disguise" trope so

anyway the detective had a note on him saying to meet someone in the steam room at 4, so we go down there and turns out one of the employees/white glove guys we talked to earlier is the person waiting for us! and he tells us that the white gloves used to be cannibals but not anymore, and it's only this one guy mortimer (who we talked to earlier as well) who wants to put humans back on the menu literally lol by tricking everyone into eating ted, the guy who went missing, and only revealing after the meal that theyd eaten human. this guy gave us like 4 different great ideas for messing up the plan but i wanted to sneak in as an employee, swap the meat in the meal out for something else, and then reveal that ted was alive after the chef did his own "reveal" bc that sounds insane

so we go down into the kitchen and . ok so yes man is bad at fitting through doors, he struggles w basically every door we go through lmao. usually it's fine but it didnt take long before he literally got stuck in a wall. and i was like. ok ill come back for you kdfhgk so i continue on and eventually find ted in the freezer waiting to be killed. and im like hey man im here to get you out, let's go

we walk outside of the freezer and immediately run into the chef. this wasnt a cutscene or scripted or anything it was just by chance he happened to walk in then. so im like Okay Time To Go and just BOLT back the way i came, barely caring if ted is even following me. as we start running, i get a notification that yes man is unconscious, meaning there's people trying to kill us, and neither ted nor i have our weapons because you have to hand them over when you enter the casino

we catch up with yes man who wakes up and gets unstuck from the wall. he starts following us back up the stairs and out of the kitchen and he's got laser blaster arms so now he's shooting at every employee that moves. we get out of the kitchen, run through the restaurant, through the casino, and out of the building, all hell breaking loose behind us while we do and yet somehow we all make it out of there barely hurt at all and it's AMAZING. my reputation with the white glove society is now Vilified lmfao. and then i realize ted's dad is still inside the building so we have to go back in LMAO

mr gunderson is understandably very pissed off that the family he's been a huge food provider for wanted to eat his son and says he's going to stop supplying his beef for them BUT with a good speech check (good speech checks are genuinely one of my fav parts abt this game) i convince him not to- saying the cannibalism thing was really only one or two people and that starving the white gloves also means starving the rest of the strip. this improved my reputation not just with the strip, but w the white gloves too, meaning i was able to finish that mission in the clumsiest possible way and Still managed to come out with everyone at least a little grateful for it

genuinely dont know if ill be able to beat this experience in-game, it was SO much fun . also i got to put yes man in the pool

Illmatic from Nas was THE soundtrack for earlier this year during a period of serious change in my life, so it'll always be special I think.

Funnily enough I saw them both in concert this year too! Little simz esp was incredible to see and she was so beautiful

3.How was my birthday this year?

It was just fine I think. Birthdays are always complicated for me bc growing up they sucked ass, and I always having an existential crisis during it. I went to the beach with my family and I love the beach so that part was fun!

unfortunately my heart was a little cracked a bit earlier but i got a pep talk from my friend and now i'm chilling like a villian >:3 just have to imagine white hair yungyu, he's literally so perfect and amazing omg

yungyu rant real quick : honestly when he first dyed his hair blue and cut it super short i was a little iffy about it because it was definitely new! but honestly it ended up growing on me a lot and i absolutely loved it. i mean in general, i think yungyu looks great in everything ehe. THEN WHEN IT STARTED GROWING OUT A LITTLE BIT I ALMOST EXPLODED like it was at that perfect length where it wasn't too short and it wasn't too long. i was thinking about hair colors i'd like to see him in and i was REALLLY fucking with the idea of blonde or red haired yungyu. and low and behold.. i wake up to see little clips of them busking in seoul and his hair was coming out of his hat a little. IT WAS WHITE. my soul genuinely left my body AND ALL THE PHOTOS HE SENT IN PLUS CHAT I CANNOTTT he's genuinely such a handsome boy and i love him so much, but it also makes me a little sad that he's growing </3 i remember how much of a cutie he was during 8turnrise era ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY HAD THEIR DEBUT SHOWCASE AND THEY WORE THE LITTLE CAT EARS he was just so small and precious, and now he has me fanning myself with an imaginary fan because he has seriously progressed so much. vocal wise and looks wise. when i saw him at kcon he was seriously unreal and i almost started crying AHHH in my brain he's still my little bom boy :,3 when he talks about debut / trainee days i get so emotional. because that era of 8turn is also when i started getting into kpop so it's for reals such a core memory. i remember when i only stanned stray kids and 8turn, i had photos of them all over my room HAHA not that i don't anymore, yungyu has a mini shrine on my desk with one of my fav pc's framed and the crochet thing i made of him ehe. anyways enough of my yungyu rant...
