what if for my Fallout verse, I just create a vault that's basically Wundagore. . .

like - the High Evolutionary as an overseer, Jonathan and Miriam Drew work as his scientists, the purpose of the vault is to create The New Men: animal-human hybrids capable of withstanding the high radiation of the Wasteland. The handful of residents are all scientists, Jonathan and Miriam being one of the few couples.

Once Jessica is born in December 2078, Jonathan makes her an unwillingly participant in the vault's research and experiments -- under the instruction of their overseer. Blasted with high, yet controlled, doses of radiation. Injected with the DNA of spiders previously experimented on - also already exposed to radiation.

At the age of 10, little Jessica is put into stasis. Body left to marinate for decades, fester in the research pumping through it.

Initially, she's only meant to be on ice for 30 years. Instead, it's just a little under 200 -- emerging from stasis in the year 2273, at the age of 17.

Not concerning myself with her perks rn (though I will get to it at some point!), except for Rad Resistance and Black Widow. Energy weapon / laser pistol.. dual wield? names them Venom Blasters.

Charles enters the living room, ensuring the door closes softly behind him to avoid disturbing his little girl. Running his fingers over his beard, he examines the envelope in his hand and sighs. Y/N’s best friend pressed it into his hand at a dinner party the previous evening, insisting he watch it as soon as he finds the time. And here he is now, holding the thin envelope.

If someone had told him when he was younger that he’d get emotional over something as simple as seeing his wife’s handwriting on paper, he would have scoffed in disbelief. Not him, that would have seemed absurd. Yet here he is, feeling a lump form in his throat over mere black ink on paper.

As peculiar as it seems, he brings the envelope to his nose, and memories of Y/N flood his mind. He can almost feel her soothing touch as she works the knots out of his back after a gruelling day of racing. Inhaling, he feels Y/N’s sweet scent—it is as comforting as her smile.

A smile tugs at Charles' lips as he pictures that infectious grin that lit up his wife’s face at the most unexpected moments. It was one of the things he loved most about her—she had a way of bringing brightness to even the darkest of days.

Shaking his head, he snaps out of the trance, shifting deeper into the living room until he sinks into the welcoming embrace of the couch. There, he retrieves the laptop resting on the coffee table, feeling the weight of the moment as he opens the envelope and extracts a flash drive from within. Rolling it between his fingers, he inserts it into the side of his laptop with a determined motion.

Once all is in place, he watches a file labelled “To my dearest Lover, brightest Heart, and deepest Soul” materialise in his list of files. The sight catches him off guard—his throat constricts, making each breath a struggle, and his eyes well up, though he fights against the tears. Not now. He can't afford it. Allowing himself to be consumed by grief would mean losing precious time, time he needs for his daughter waiting in her playroom down the hallway.

He takes a moment to regain composure, squeezing his eyes shut, focusing on the rhythm of his breath until the tension in his chest begins to ease. With a sharp intake of air, he opens his eyes wide and taps the file, revealing a video. Running his teeth over his lower lip, he hovers the pointer over the play button, then taps the mousepad with a steady hand.

The video opens with Y/N seated on the very same pale couch he’s currently occupying. He places both hands onto the soft sofa, yearning for a connection, a way to feel her, even though he knows he can’t—touching the past is impossible.

Y/N walks toward the camera, readjusting it before taking three steps backward and retaking her seat. Inhaling deeply, she hesitates, her mouth opening, then closing again, like a fish out of water.

“Mon cœur,” Charles whispers, moving the laptop onto the coffee table.

“Hmm,” Y/N drops her hands into her lap and smooths down her flowery dress. She stares directly at the camera, tilting her head sideways with a crooked smile. “I don’t know where to start.”

Her eyes widen. “After all this planning, I still don’t know where to begin.” She lets out a few chuckles and then purses her lips. “Well, I suppose greetings are in order?”

Her expression softens as her brows furrow. “Hello, my darling, my world, my everything.”

“Hey,” Charles whispers, his throat tight with emotion, barely allowing sound to escape.

“Although I'm very happy to see you, if you’re watching this, it means you're not living as I want you to,” Y/N's voice trembles, causing her to pause and swallow. “I know it’s hard, baby. I don’t expect this to be easy on you, but I don’t want you to spend the rest of your life looking back at us in sadness, you know?”

Charles leans forward, elbows on his lap, eyes fixed on the screen, his face tinged with a faint shade of red.

“Remember our first date, when we had to cancel our reservations at that restaurant because you felt sick on the way there?” Y/N bursts into laughter but quickly stifles it, her hand covering her mouth.

“No, no,” Charles pleads softly, shaking his head, “please don’t hide your beautiful smile, my love.”

“It’s not like there was anything you could do about being sick, but I remember feeling miffed because I already had a stressful day, so for you to cancel just like that, it irritated me,” she reminisces with a nod. “But you were quite pale, so I wanted to make sure you got home alright. And we walked, barely talked,” she giggles, the joy reaching her eyes, “but then this little kid appeared, his name was…”

“Benny,” they both say simultaneously, a faint smile tugging at one corner of Charles' lips.

"Boy, was he excited to meet you, his idol. It was like seeing a completely different person. You became someone entirely new for this little boy whom you didn’t even know. Nobody forced you to take time out of your day when he came running, his arms wide open," Y/N says, extending her arms along with the words. "You could’ve just walked away. I mean, you had a reason to: you were sick."

Pausing for a moment, Y/N sits up straighter, leaning forward and shaking her head. "But you didn’t. You put on a brave face, and you turned into Benny’s hero and so much more. I think we stood there with his parents for about half an hour, and you didn’t complain once. And that’s when I knew."

Y/N nods, crossing her legs and slinging one hand behind the sofa. "That’s when I knew you could be the man I was going to marry. And turns out you were," she says, smiling sheepishly. "The love you have for people, for our daughter, it’s… it’s so profound, it’s boundless. So don’t limit it. Don’t you dare limit yourself just because I’m not around anymore."

Her expression turns serious as she exhales. “You’re such a bright light. You bring happiness and purity into people’s lives—into my life,” Y/N presses her hand against her chest. “I don’t want you to dim it. I want you to shine for as long as that candle burns. Don’t let it die prematurely because of bad happenings. There’s so much more to love, to live, to enjoy. And while you may not see me at your side anymore, holding onto D/N, I’m right here.”

Charles sniffles, folding his hands over his mouth as he swallows his sobs, while Y/N points to her heart.

“I’m with you forever and always. I’m protecting you and D/N, and I’m watching over you, making sure everything’s alright.” Y/N releases a sigh before chewing at her bottom lip with a wistful smile. “And part of that means making space for more love, for you. You have a big heart, you know? There’s enough room for you to find happiness with someone new. There’s no shame in it, and there’s no guilt in it. It’s what makes being alive such a beautiful thing: your love is yours, and it’s not confined to just one or two people. You can spread it, and still, our love will remain unchanged.”

Tears stream down the sides of Charles' cheeks as he struggles to maintain his composure, his eyes fixated on the screen as if afraid that if he peels his gaze away for one second, his wife will disappear.

Y/N briefly looks off to the side, her attention seemingly caught by something in the room, before snapping her head back to the camera with a bright smile.

“It seems I have to go,” her shoulders sink.

Charles leans forward, the screen mere inches away from his face, as he strokes the outline of Y/N’s face on the screen, whispering desperately, “Please don’t, mon cœur…”

“I love you so, so much. You and D/N are the most precious gifts, the greatest joys I have had the privilege to experience, so please, please,” she claps her hands together, moving them back and forth, “please…when I die, I want you to live.”

Y/N rises from the couch and walks towards the screen, her eyes unwavering for even a moment. “Give my little girl all my love, and kiss and hug her extra tight for as long as you can, for me.”

Offering one final smile, she blows a kiss at the screen. “I love you. Please don’t stop. Don't stop loving and don't stop living.”

The video freezes with Y/N frozen in place, a beautiful smile etched onto her lips, filled with the purest form of love.

Feeling suddenly overwhelmed, Charles collapses, the weight of the world pressing down on him. He drops his face into his hands and releases all of it: sob after sob after sob. There’s something liberating about finally letting go; the burden pours out of him, leaving behind a fragile yet tranquil Charles as he gazes at the still shot of his beloved wife, whom he adores so deeply.

A soft click draws his attention to the door just in time for it to creak open slowly, revealing his little girl standing there, her favourite yellow teddy bear clutched tightly in her arms.

“Papa,” her voice floats like a gentle breeze.

Charles smiles, opening his arms wide as she runs towards him. He's momentarily winded as she reaches him, but he quickly regains his composure and lifts her onto his lap.

“Hello, my love,” he whispers, touching his forehead to hers.

Her tiny hand pats his cheek, her expression filled with concern. “You’re crying?”

Charles shakes his head, trying to reassure her. “Happy tears,” he explains, “look.” He points at the screen, where Y/N's serene face is frozen in time.

“Maman!” D/N exclaims, slipping from his lap and heading towards the screen. Her small hands tap the screen eagerly as she calls out, “Maman! Maman! Maman!”

“Yes,” Charles swallows, ignoring the pang in his chest as he shifts his focus to his little girl. “You want to see Maman, huh?”

He rises from the sofa and lifts D/N into the air, settling her on his hip. “How about we go take a look at the photo albums, okay? There are lots of beautiful pictures of Maman in there, alright?”

“Maman! Maman! Maman!” D/N continues to exclaim, squirming excitedly in his arms as they walk through the door and down the hallway into the living room.

In the last eight years, everyone at the 118 figured out how to open a vein for each other, and here's Tommy. Out, flying, and only able to meet his own eyes in the mirror half the time. It takes almost three months. And the lead-in is not a calm, mutually agreed-upon coming to terms. It's a fight. Tommy saw this coming the moment Evan, babbling and out his gourd, launched himself into Tommy's arms. What they have was not going to be resolved quietly. Not if they did it right.

Over the weeks following Evan's release from the hospital, they settle into a weird, different, oddly comfortable status quo. They call each other, Tommy as well as Buck, at random times. During lulls at work, while stuck in traffic, when tossing and turning in bed. They make dinner together, run errands. When Maddie realized Tommy wasn't going to vanish, she continued making him her partner in helping Evan become okay. Together they make sure he always has a ride to the therapist, the precinct, or the district attorney. Between the two of them and the rest of the team, Evan isn't alone for a second he doesn't want to be.

Porter has never had a safe word before he never thought he’d need to use one himself and he thinks that if that’s good enough for him that’s good enough for his partners.

To Zara that’s all bullshit (she’s so right) and as long as she and Porter are involved she plans to break him of the habit. She's not a fixer, she doesn't care and shes doing it mainly for her and to some extent Jace's benefit. its been years since shes enacted her safe word, but its always known and in place. She LOVES bloodplay and with that, safety needs to be involved.

When Porter asks for her to drain him until hes near death she explains this to him but he tries to wave it away. He’ll look at her, so fucking desperate and needy and gooooods damnit he really can flash those stupid puppy dog eyes at her and get her on board with anything. He does agree to use a safe word though, so progress.

Porter doesn't like putting a lot of thought into his plans. His full idea was just: Slurp me like a juice box. And that was just kinda it lmao. But when the day actually comes he’s glad that Zara made him prep snacks and drinks to have on standby and had Jace talk him through what it would feel like. Jace and Zara have been there done that, and she was way more comfortable doing it with them bc she actually listens 😌 (she loves her obedient butch to pieces)

Jace is so excited for them to take this step. He knows Zara is careful about feeding for pleasure rather than hunger. They’ve discussed her bloodlust and how she used to have trouble with it and still gets the urge every now and then if she’s not careful. She knows her limits but she’s fucked up severely in the past and suffered the consequences. And as much as she hates to say it, she doesn’t want to accidentally kill one of her partners, she likes Porter. She did from the minute she met him even if the allure faded, now genuine care and affection for him is in its place. She likes Porter. Jace teases her about it all the time and tries to get her to say it to their boyfriend more often. She refuses, but she will drain him.

When she does, she’s perched on top of him staring down at him beneath her. His eyes full of trust and anticipation and when she sinks her fangs into him, the whine he makes encourages her. Porter strokes her hair until his limbs feel detached from his body, he’s in ecstasy, head somewhere floating in the clouds. When Zara releases him, his blood coats her from mouth to chin; dripping down onto her breasts. She looks incredible like this. If he had enough blood in his body he’d be so fucking hard right now. He didn’t take that into account.

Zara pecks his lips, then presses a gentle kiss to the puncture wounds in his neck and casts healing light. Porter can feel the life returning to him. Zara climbs off of him and goes to wipe her mouth and grabs the snacks and things for him so he can build his strength back up. She feels good, like there’s a buzz thrumming through her body. It wasn’t her first time tasting his blood, but never this much of it. She tucks the thought away before she starts to obsess over and takes a seat next to him.

“How are you feeling?”

“‘M alright. I liked it,” he grins at her and takes her hand, placing a gentle kiss to her knuckles. “Was it good for you?” She flushes, looking away for a moment to compose herself as she nods. “Yeah, really good,” she breathes, feeling a bit lightheaded from his question. Porter munches on his apple slices for a bit before he breaks the silence. “How’d I taste?”

Zara’s body feels hot, it was such a simple question and it was making her so wet she could barely think straight.

“Good, really- uhm. Robust- but with something else underneath. There is a kick, like caffeine.” She doesn’t even noticed how tightly she’s clenching her thighs together, but Porter does. He hums at her response. She was getting off on this, just talking about the notes of his blood like it’s some aged vintage she and Jace saved for special occasions. “Keep talking,” he grunts, abandoning his snack in favor of placing his massive hand on her thigh.

Zara bites her lip, unclenches her legs and gives him the invitation if he’d like to take it.

“Well. It’s not that different from any other blood- it’s just- Porter-!” She gasps, as his hand slides her panties to the side before he inserts two fingers, stretching her open. He leans over and kisses her jaw, sucking the skin there. Only pausing to rasp, “Keep talking, Love.”

She shivers, rocking her hips and following his lead for once. “Your blood- it fuck.. uh- it was warmer than I’m used to. Delicious like hot chocolate, there’s an aftertaste of heat- mm, yes- Right there! Fuck- like when you eat spicy food, it lingers!” She keens, head falling back as a tight heat settles in her belly. Porter continues to work, thumb ghosting over her clit enough to draw a desperate moan from her.

“Good girl,” he smirks, pressing a kiss to her lips. “I like the insight.” He pulls his fingers from her and she growls.

“Don’t be a prick. Finish,” she eyes him, pouting. The stupid smirk doesn’t leave his face as he licks his fingers clean, not daring to break eye contact with her. “You’re a big girl, you can handle it.” Is all he leaves her with as he gathers his things and leaves her room.

For a moment she wishes she killed him.

@oktobearfest Last year for OW’s first Pride Month event they released a really clunky short story with an excuse plot to have Pharah and Baptiste come out to each other (Bap is bi). Basically Baptiste expresses interest in Cassidy but doesn’t want to interfere because he isn’t sure if Cass and Pharah are a couple. To which Pharah says she’s a lesbian and that Cole is like a brother to her. Then she starts bringing up Angela and being all like 😌💕 because the lead writer at the time (who’s since been laid off) was apparently a huge Ph@rm3rcy stan, lmao.

There’s also a line in the story that’s so unintentionally funny bc you can tell it was a mutated, “corporate won’t let us say this” joke - Pharah is clearly trying to say to Bap something like “What, do I look straight to you?!” but instead says “I’m not passing, am I?” (To which Bap replies like “No, of course not!!”) It caused me to nearly choke on my lunch while reading it because I thought she was Also coming out as trans in the same story jfkgkhk

1) I know you said Satoru has resorted to paying for uhh release which I’m interpreting as him hiring sex workers for his own needs because he can’t emotionally/physically involve himself with another woman and he can detach himself through that ig. Given her last thoughts before she sees Satoru I assume no since she’s letting fate take the wheel in their story but idk Y/N is a baddie so 😭

2) What are Y/N’s thoughts about Satoru after everything that happened? Is she angry at him? Disappointed? Does she miss him? Still love him?

3) Was Satoru searching for her specifically in the town they ran into each other? Or did they happen to just run into each other? I know he has and never would’ve stopped searching for his family but why was he there?

4) Will Y/N’s mom finally beat the shit out of him when he sees them again? That poor woman is probably TIRED OF HIS ASS 😭 I hope she slaps him so hard his mother feels it in her prison cell (i don’t condone violence 😌)

it's not all bad, though. they don't ask for things super often (but when they do, there's absolutely no objections. ever.) and have been super helpful in both Zar's revenge plot and honing her newly gained abilities. sometimes she uses her powers for good tho

anywayy, Zar dropped out of Hatchetfield High after being murdered—fair tbh. who needs a GED when you can work at the seedy occult store in town and also be an immortal witch of ambiguous moral standing 🤷🏽‍♀️

Had my orientation for my new job yesterday and I'm still so excited!! I spent a year studying there 11 years ago (👵) so it's fun to go back, but it's definitely also gonna be a little weird first. Both of the two teachers who taught me there will be absent this semester (unless the other one returns from her maternity leave after Christmas, but that's not set in stone yet), although I'm meeting the other for another orientation tomorrow, which I'm excited about because she's probably my favourite teacher ever and she's just so great and said such nice things about my writing skills 😭 so it's a shame I won't get to work with her nor the other English teacher (the one on maternity leave), so it's just me and the Swedish teacher (who will also be my supervisor), and my memories of her are...not quite as pleasant 🥲

Today I was on godmother duty with my niece (10½ months) and y'all should be SO proud of me from protecting her from the evil, baby-eating spider that was climbing on her carriage 😪 It was a dramatic and somewhat traumatic encounter with life-threatening wildlife, especially when the spider wouldn't hop off the carriage when I swept it with a twig the first time, but together we made through it (the niece was sleeping the entire time)

Seeing BC on Saturday (yes, again 🥰) and I'm so excited because 1) aaaaaaaaa what if they play the new song, I know it's not officially out until next week but come ooooon it's the last show of the summer tour and the last show in Finland until god knows when (😭) and they also played Don't Fix Me at shows last summer before they officially released the song so idk about you guys but I for one am totally getting my hopes up 🤞, and 2) aaaaaaaaa gonna see so many of my beloved BC mutuals, it's gonna be a grand ol' reunion again!! 🥺💕 however, I have zero idea about when/how I'm gonna get there (it takes ~4 hours to travel to the venue from where I live, and amazingly the train ain't much more quicker than the bus 🙂) or when/how I'm gonna be leaving back home again because I still haven't decided whether or not I should stay the night somewhere (I don't want to miss any potential after-show hangouts, but I also really love sleeping the night in my own bed lol), so if this issue would somehow just solve itself that would be great thanks ✌️

ridi i'm LOVING all these unpopular opinions!! music haterism is always justified imo and soo entertaining also love that i agree with you 100% on basically everything 😌 some of these things just had to be said…

i thought i didn’t have anything to add because ts, hs etc have all been spoken about and i don’t listen to modern music enough to have strong opinions on any others but then i remembered my BIGGEST parasocial enemy (who i never talk about bc i don’t really have that good a reason to find her annoying i just do) is beabadoobea…

apologies in advance but she sort of represents everything wrong with the music industry rn to me so maybe a rant is justified here? anyway taking this opportunity to say i think she’s so overrated and not in a unique way, like it isn’t new for people to get careers from how they look but in her case specifically it annoys me sm because of what her fans are like and also it’s close to home…as in my cousin is one of her best friends from school so i knew of her when she started releasing music on band camp and had to watch her make a music career off being pretty on instagram with the four chords my cousin taught her on guitar and a voice that’s just…fine, and whatever everyone has to start somewhere except she got a record deal when her sound was completely underdeveloped before she’d had time to learn anything about music or her own artistry and like fuck around experimenting for a while.

which is so common these days i think w people blowing up on social media and getting handed careers i.e riding on the people who can actually play their instruments and getting loads of money thrown at them to make really bland four chord nothing songs... like in the first few years of her career she made so much music and it was all so boring and sounded exactly the same, even now it might be unfair but i do just assume any vaguely interesting part of her output is someone else’s work like sorry she’s never had to come up with her own fully fledged ideas or concepts and she’s been working with the pressure of commercial viability the whole time, any potential she might have had i just think was squandered by having everything come too fast and too easily or maybe i'm being generous and her authentic sound is just boring idk because it still doesn't seem like she has anything to say…all this wouldn’t be as bad if her fans weren’t sooo insanely annoying about her + as a person i have no real reason to but i just do not like her :| my cousin is still good friends with her as well so i have to pretend i know nothing but the picture of her i’ve built from things my cousin’s said…just aggravating, alsoo she’d played at my work once when my friend was on shift and her ex bf that looks a tiny bit like george harrison was sitting at the bar the whole time drinking water and not talking to anyone while she was doing coke in the bathroom and he looked so pathetic my friend started talking to him to cheer him up in between serving him his next cup of tap water…

i think youre so right and i dont mean that new artists shouldnt be given a break or an opportunity or anything but like you say, when theyre being harvested on social media, where a lot of the time look is everything (as i believe it is for bebadoobebdoo, her look her 'aesthetic' pinterest-board fashion sense does play a part i really think it does because there is no way her music is strong enough on its own to be successful) and where they may not necessarily be super experienced or practiced yet (which again, i appreciate, theyre new), a lot of money goes into getting songs out of them which are inevitably boring unimaginative four-chord songs that do not have enough substance to make anyone feel anything. including the people singing them. i cant imagine that beabadoobee demonstrated enough genuine musical promise to be given a record deal so i have to believe its either her image or the idea that well if we give her tons of expensive resources maybe then she'll end up putting out something good.

there have to be new artists out there who are more talented and interesting and would do more with the sort of record deal thrown at beabadoobebee than beabadoobdbbee did...surely...i really did try to like her because my friends raved about her so much so i listened to a fair bit from her and her music was just so staggeringly nothing. i think you make a good point about how the fact that she got a record deal so early on probably has sort of stifled the music she makes/her ability to experiment with it but im not sure im as kind as you because i do fear she is just not very talented perhaps. sorry giggling at her sad george harrison tapwater drinking boyfriend again poor lad..

if you joined at a certain point after red tv was released, the fervor with which i posted about spn diminished significantly - part of this was due to a traumatic experience on here (smh), part of it was just natural healing process. but this blog was, initially, regretfully, unfortunately, a blog mostly revolving around that and processing it lmao *shame bell rings through the town* i pivoted (gladly) to focus primarily on bcs last year and that switched a lot of the discussion too, and of course then we opened up so much more about TS and that's been really fun!

i harbor rage towards blonde (as you likely know), but idk if the miniseries was as exploitative towards her as the book and the film we try not to mention was. funnily enough, i have watched JA in next to nothing else. i have seen a couple of things here and there, and would often be like, "hmm, i should check out [project]" and then didn't, and that falls into my sometimes oddball, "i am a character person more than an actor person 90% of the time with modern media" issue. because dean...is so monumentally dean to me and so alive in himself that i've realized the actor kind of becomes...detached from it. this was also something that took distance and recovery to recognize tbh.

rosie's korean promo was postponed bcs of obvious reasons but that should be coming this week, she's going on the kelly clarkson show and the jimmy fallon show, and ig she'll do some more promo next week and then wrap it up by christmas. she said she's planning on releasing more mvs so we might see more promo in the new year too. ngl i'm really impressed with her album rollout! icb after 8 years we're finally seeing a bp member get some good promo!

"pas de deux chapter 7" MORE LIKE "scream o'clock"

Soooooo we all swooned when he was talking about how perfect she was as Hermia right? ESPECIALLY WHEN HE SAID GROGU LOVED HER TOO OH MY GOOOOOD!!! Do they talk about her? Will she get to meet Grogu? Will Grogu reveal some of the nice things Din may have said? ALSO GROGU DANCING FOR HIS TEACHER I WANT TO GIVE HIM THE BIGGEST BEAR HUG THIS MIGHT BE MY FAVOURITE DETAIL OF THE CHAPTER!!

Ok so the mask falls more and more, we're getting more and more little smirks and laughs and then the giant grins at the end with prolonged eye contact? Girlie is stronger than I am I would have DIED.

I love how the last chapter's conversation really paid off, not just in their dancing but in their ability to communicate outside of rehearsals. Also standing next to Din at barre? LOVE the clear character development of getting more bold, also reflected in suggesting a new take on the choreography that allows Din to ease into the different style of dancing and conveys the emotional core of Kuiil's idea. I just know if anyone from CBC comes to see Din dance this pas de deux their jaw will be on the FLOOOOOOR (which makes me wonder if they've been trying to get him back behind the scenes or completely cut all ties. Can't decide which would be harder for him but both seem sad!)

SPEAKING OF KUIIL HE IS A LEGEND ACTUALLY. Not him smiling all smug he knew what he was doing!! Him and Karga had a whole plan these two are so sly! I want to know what they talked about as they planned this. Are they giggling and kicking their feet like I am watching these two grow closer? Bc if I was one of them I'd probably start a bet with the other about the chances of these two rocking each other's worlds' (in terms of dance of course. No double meanings here I assure you my mind is of pure thoughts only when I think about them!!! No really I promise!! 😈)

Okay so something that really struck me about the videos you attached for this chapter is the sense of freedom and expansion in the movements, and trust between partners. The latter is obviously such a centerpiece of the whole fic, but the big movements struck me particularly hard this chapter because it's such a reflection of their internal journey - as if their movements expand as their understanding of each other and confidence with the partnering is growing, too. I also loved the little details of breaths and hand positioning being signals to one another, again teaching me so much about ballet!!

In addition to this Din, have I understood correctly that we have another Din fic coming up based on the snippet you released? Should I be girding my emotional loins? 👀

OH ACTUALLY I JUST REMEMBERED!! My favourite moment in this chapter is actually a tie between Grogu dancing for his teacher and Din having lunch with Grogu bc he has a half day!!! Maybe I am gonna cry about it!!

Din is definitely starting to open up, especially ~at work~ with her. He knows ballet and how to exist in a company, at the very least! And once he's not feeling so lost with this new piece he's going to be easier in rehearsal. Just overall more open and calm. And Kuiil is the best! He knew what he was doing. 😌 He's absolute so smug and happy about it.

Yes, that's such a good point! Partnering takes trust, and it's totally possible to partner well with a new person in a professional company -- at that point you've done it so much you can figure it out. But a new pair would still practice together a lot in order to get it right. (I saw a few tiktoks from a professional ballerina preparing for Nutcracker this year with a new partner and how they both know the choreography pretty well, so what they do is meet and work out the kinks together before meeting with a coach or instructor. and I think that's so interesting!) And these two are dealing with a bit more than just new-partner issues. The fact that the way each one wants to communicate physically, once they get it, works so well? They just seem to go together well, as dancers. 👀

and yes, I posted the other little Din fic on Friday! If you read it I hope you enjoyed it. It's a bit different. lol
