I was wondering if I could request a fluff piece w/ big daddy Elvis? I have endometriosis and I was wondering if you could write something where the reader is really struggling during her period and Elvis takes care of her. Thank youuu 💗
thank you! ❤️ i wasn't fully aware of what that all entailed, so i tried to do my research. hope this is okay!! thank you for the request <3

there's always a specific time during every month that you dread more than anything, and it's the forever–non–ending week of your period. everyone's periods were different, some dealt with pain, some didn't. you, on the other hand, were met with the most god, awful crippling pain every single month.
elvis knew how badly you struggled with your period, he always tried to give you all the comfort he could even if you tried to brush it off. when you first got together, it wasn’t something he fully understood. he knew what periods were, of course. but yours was much more different.
he wanted to take you out to the memphian today since a few movies had come out that he wanted to see, maybe bring a few of the guys along with him. the sight of you crippled up in bed made him change his plans immediately and he wasted no time cancel. today would be all about you and your comfort instead.
“baby?” he said softly, shuffling over to the bed and crouching to meet with you eye leveled. you tangled up in the comforter, curled up with a tired look on your face said enough. “that time of the month?”
a soft mhm left your lips, your own arms wrapped securely around your stomach.
“poor thing.” he muttered, bringing his hand up to brush the hair out of your face. “y’wanna jus’ stay in bed all day?” another mhm came from you in response. “not a problem at all, honey. y’need anything?”
talking was so tiring in the moment, you didn't even want to move. “‘just you.” you mumbled.
he chuckled, pressing his lips against your forehead. “i know, i know. you’ll get me in just a minute, baby. im gonna get ya a few things ‘n i’ll come back up here alright?” you whined in response, clutching at your stomach at the shooting, throbbing pain. he frowned, “oh, baby. alright. i’m gonna hurry.” he kissed you one last time before standing back up and heading downstairs.
elvis reached the bottom of the steps, eyes scanning around graceland as he mentally wrote himself a list of things to bring upstairs. he had pads upstairs, the good ones. he had the money, he wasn’t going to buy you cheap anything. oh, but duh, a heating pad. he grabbed one out of a cabinet before heading to the kitchen, rummaging through for snacks or anything that may make you feel better.
“you need something?” he heard from behind him, meeting eyes with mary.
“oh, uh….well…” he rubbed the back of his neck, “it’s that time of the month for—”
“i’ll bring ‘em some tea and some food.” she smiled, patting his back. “what they need right now is a massage and your presence, i’ll take care of things around here.”
elvis let out a sigh of relief, “appreciate ya. don’t wanna do the wrong thing.”
“trust me, you won’t.”
he headed back upstairs with a hot water bottle and a heating pad, walking into his bedroom where you were still huddled up in bed. “alright, darlin’. mary’s comin’ up with some tea, i’ve got a whole lotta heat and this water bottle is about ready to burn my hands off.”
you sat up with a groan, wiping at your eyes as you pouted at him, “elvis–”
“i brought a heating pad too. y’think double the heat might work on those cramps?” he asked, ignoring you. “i have extra pads in the bathroom, if you need more—i’ll have someone make a run ‘n get you some. y’need painkillers? i got the strong—”
“elvis.”
he looked over at you, raising his eyebrows like he did something wrong.
with a hot water bottle ready to be against your back and a heating pad on your lower stomach, you pouted at him. “you didn’t need to do all of this….”
“but, i did. i want you to be comfortable, baby. i hate that y’all gotta go through that every month.” he frowned. “is there something else i can get you? just say the word ‘n i’ll go get it.”
you thought for a moment, “well….you did forget one thing…”
“oh!” he got ready to head out the bedroom again, “what is it?”
“you.”

hey soup when are you bringing Vince back I miss him and so does everyone else. He made a big impact when he left and now he and Wendy are the only ones not engaged. And I’ve been waiting for the day you’ll bring him back. Maybe he and his mom have a talk and she says that he isn’t needed back home and he finally realizes that he can just visit. Because I miss him and so does everyone else. Please soup bring him back soon so Wendy can get engaged. Also I think that when Leo and Jonah get married they should combine there last names. I know I’m ranting but these are my opinions. Also maybe Vince comes back and no one told Jonah so when he comes back they throw him a party and Vince is like surprise I’m back. Also for a fic idea maybe Vince with appendicitis since all the boys have had it except him. Also I’m done now bye soup.
i'm sorry anon, but this ask is so funny, is lik all my intrusive thoughts just became an ASK.
I really really REALLY want to bring Vince back, I was thinking of this during lunch today!! However, I have some story ideas I still wanna do:
Luke being jelly af of Max/Vince bonding
Max being pushed by Vince to join the gang (and getting convinced to maybe move to Weston? Who knows)
Vince getting carsick while helping his sister Sophia get her driver's license!!
Vince and Wendy having the "so its a been a year, what now?" convo, since they decided it'd only be 1 year away for trial
About the other stuff, I actually don't want Vince/Wendy to get engaged any time soon. They're soulmates for sure, but I think they are both just enjoying their current state and would want to stay in the honeymoon period when Vince does come back for a while. They're not Luke/Bell who are hella reckless and they're not Jonah/Leo who were basically married for a while lmao. They're a slow burn in certain aspects.
Aaaand about Vince's appendicitis, I'm saving that for a while bc Appendicitis are my favorite thing to write and I don't wanna burn through them too quickly 😂😂 I feel like I got Leo's done too quickly and I regret it tbh.

Bastet
Other names:Bast
Major cult center:Bubastis
Symbol:cat, lioness, ointment jar, sistrum, solar disk
Parents:Ra and Isis
Siblings:Horus and Anhur (half-brothers)
Consort:Ptah
Offspring:Maahes
Connection to other gods:Sekhmet, Hathor, Rāt, Tem, Artemis
Celebrations
Bubastis celebrations of Bastet 'Feast of drunkenness'
Bubasteia was celebrated by intoxication, music, debauchery, children would be born without fathers on this day.
Bastet was a goddess of ancient Egyptian religion, worshipped as early as the Second Dynasty (2890 BCE). Her name also is rendered as B'sst, Baast, Ubaste, and Baset. In ancient Greek religion, she was known as Ailuros (Koinē Greek: αἴλουρος "cat").
Bastet was worshipped in Bubastis in Lower Egypt, originally as a lioness goddess, a role shared by other deities such as Sekhmet. Eventually Bastet and Sekhmet were characterized as two aspects of the same goddess, with Sekhmet representing the powerful warrior and protector aspect and Bastet, who increasingly was depicted as a cat, representing a gentler aspect
Role In Ancient Egypt
Bastet was originally a fierce lioness warrior goddess of the sun worshipped throughout most of ancient Egyptian history, but later she became the cat goddess that is familiar today. She then was depicted as the daughter of Ra and Isis, and the consort of Ptah, with whom she had a son Maahes.
As protector of Lower Egypt, she was seen as defender of the king, and consequently of the sun god, Ra. Along with other deities such as Hathor, Sekhmet, and Isis, Bastet was associated with the Eye of Ra.She has been depicted as fighting the serpent named Apep, an enemy of Ra. In addition to her solar connections, sometimes she was called "eye of the moon".
Bastet was also a goddess of pregnancy and childbirth, possibly because of the fertility of the domestic cat.
Images of Bastet were often created from alabaster. The goddess was sometimes depicted holding a ceremonial sistrum in one hand and an aegis in the other—the aegis usually resembling a collar or gorget, embellished with a lioness head.
Bastet was also depicted as the goddess of protection against contagious diseases and malicious spirits.
History
Bastet first appears in the third millennium BCE, where she is depicted as either a fierce lioness or a woman with the head of a lioness. Two thousand years later, during the Third Intermediate Period of Egypt (c. 1070–712 BC), Bastet began to be depicted as a domestic cat or a cat-headed woman.
Scribes of the New Kingdom and later eras began referring to her with an additional feminine suffix, as Bastet. The name change is thought to have been added to emphasize pronunciation of the ending t sound, often left silent.
Cats in ancient Egypt were highly revered, partly due to their ability to combat vermin such as mice, rats (which threatened key food supplies), and snakes—especially cobras. Cats of royalty were, in some instances, known to be dressed in golden jewelry and were allowed to eat from the plates of their owners. Dennis C. Turner and Patrick Bateson estimate that during the Twenty-second Dynasty (c. 945–715 BC), Bastet worship changed from being a lioness deity into being predominantly a major cat deity.Because domestic cats tend to be tender and protective of their offspring, Bastet was also regarded as a good mother and sometimes was depicted with numerous kittens.
The native Egyptian rulers were replaced by Greeks during an occupation of Ancient Egypt in the Ptolemaic Dynasty that lasted almost 300 years. The Greeks sometimes equated Bastet with one of their goddesses, Artemis
Festival
Herodotus also relates that of the many solemn festivals held in Egypt, the most important and most popular one was that celebrated in Bubastis in honor of this goddess. Each year on the day of her festival, the town was said to have attracted some 700,000 visitors, both men and women (but not children), who arrived in numerous crowded ships. The women engaged in music, song, and dance on their way to the place. Great sacrifices were made and prodigious amounts of wine were drunk—more than was the case throughout the year. This accords well with Egyptian sources that prescribe that lioness goddesses are to be appeased with the "feasts of drunkenness".A festival of Bastet was known to be celebrated during the New Kingdom at Bubastis. The block statue from the eighteenth dynasty (c. 1380 BC) of Nefer-ka, the wab-priest of Sekhmet, provides written evidence for this. The inscription suggests that the king, Amenhotep III, was present at the event and had great offerings made to the deity.

good lord.
the last, like, 36 hours have been so fucking stressful.
tw: friendship problems, toxic friendship. end marked by a meme or something.
i have had a fandom friend for about two years. she's been sweet and fun and silly and good to talk to, but any time i have taken more than 20 hours to reply, she has some at me accusing me of abandoning her when i reply. so i have had to spend many days in the last two years stressing over how to reply so she believes me that i have been just BUSY and not ignoring her or abandoning her.
this has happened multiple times. everyone i have spoken to about it has told me to block her. i have always given her another chance to be kinder and more understanding while resolving to be more communicative. i have done so. but this was my last straw.
i have done my absolute level best to be kind, respectful, and pacifying in my responses to not set her off again. but she's taken my words and actions in bad faith time and time again and i got tired of it.
so this time i told her point blank a few things, like i have done nothing wrong, she has impossible standards (of wanting to talk to me every single day and never going more than a day without messages), she should get therapy, and that i am capable of and allowed to feel more than one feeling at a time (just because i went to bed happy doesn't mean i'm not fucking upset about losing a friend).
but i told her that her needs and my abilities didn't match. i would not be able to live up to what she needed from our friendship.
i have spent HOURS crying about losing her as a friend. HOURS. time i will not get back. effort i will not get back. and while im happy i got to be her friend, i wish she believed me.
i've had to block her on all of the platforms where she and i were connected. if she gets better and owns her own shortcomings, separation anxiety, and abandonment issues, she can contact me somehow. until then, it's not my responsibility to worry about.
and yeah, i'm fucking sad.
but i still wish the best for her. and she's a good person, but she needs to get help. she's been toxic for me. i don't use that word lightly. but us not being friends is probably for the best for both of us. (the good news is that she's been making more friends recently, so her ditching me because i wasn't capable of living up to her needs won't leave her friendless. and that's good, because i know she worries about that.)
so. that's been most of the last day and a half for me.
Tumblr media
anyway, after dealing with that, joel and i spent the day playing arkham horror. we finished the campaign we've been working on for a while, and it was both exhausting and frustrating because joel's character was defeated during either two of or all three of the scenarios we played today. my character was NOT built for fighting, so being the only investigator left and getting all the enemies on me at once did not work well lmao
also tmi here lmao
but also today, i have been feeling pressure on my bladder ALL DAY. i've felt like i've needed to pee but i haven't peed much when i've gone. and i started bleeding today, but it's not like a normal period bc the blood is all fresh, so i'm super concerned that my IUD has gotten dislocated?? which could potentially be reeeally bad 😅 so i gotta go to the doctor and check with some imaging that it's in the right place. i hope they can get me in tomorrow or sometime this week/weekend.
done tmi lol
and joel and i went out this evening after finishing our games and went in search of card sleeves, chips and dip, and dinner. we were successful in our endeavors, and we came back around 10:45. joel requested i wrap the gifts he got for our friends and i very happily sat and wrapped a bunch of gifts. i did GREAT. really proud of two of them. it's pretty impressive, i gotta say.
and now joel and i are in bed. my heart is still sad but my shoulders are lighter. gifts are wrapped, i've got one thing to worry about, and that's about it because my insurance will pay for my doctors appointments.
and i did talk to leo today on and off - his shift was today, so i talked to him while he was there a tiny bit and then after he left. man's horny on main and i fully understand lmao
so that's been my day. i'm so tired.

I have so many headcanons about all for the game and the parts of everyone’s lives that weren’t discussed in depth. Also a few oc/canon character interactions yk. (Another post bc I am not adding it to this today)
To start off, things about canon characters.
I don’t think the entire reason Neil stayed was bc Andrew and Exy. I think he decided at some point whether it be subconsciously or not that even if it results in death, he wanted to help the people who treated him the best. He wanted to make sure that they were better so that he’d have the comfort of knowing that in his last moments when his dad finally caught up to him. He was the foxes team captain and lead most of the practices until he left palmetto and got signed to a pro team with Andrew. They lived together and everything.
Nicky still have spurts of depressive episodes around thanksgiving for sure and during random times bc he feels guilty. Andrew wouldn’t have been there if he didn’t ask Neil to get him to go. Andrew snaps at him once about how it isn’t his fault and he didn’t hand him on a silver plater to drake and that even though he wanted him to go, it wasn’t like he KNEW. Which would also mark the first time Andrew openly talks about the shit drake did to him. He eventually goes back to Germany but makes sure to stay in contact with everyone so he doesn’t miss them too much and can make sure they’re staying out of trouble.
Andrew gets better. He still struggles with his feeling and emotional control but it’s gotten to where he knows his limits and the little tells that his body gives him in regards to what he needs to do to calm down. Mostly includes alone time with Neil and Neil touching his shoulders or hair. I also like to believe that one day he forces himself to budge on his touch boundaries. They start off small like one of Neil’s hands on his arm and when he gains a positive association (Neil) with that touch they do another. I also like to think that he goes back to criminal Justice and gets a career as a social services worker or juvenile court lawyer. He wouldn’t want any kid to get some shitty ruling like he had with the meds and he’d be trying everything he can to ensure it doesn’t go that way bc fuck he knows those meds didn’t do shit but make him find stupid shit funny.
Kevin goes to pro obviously and that’s his entire life. He gets traded to a team and agrees to go because it’s the same city Aaron is a doctor in. He missed his college team and despite how he disregarded their well-being over exy, he hopes they’re doing good. He and Neil still stay in contact and occasionally taunt each other on social media that the fans go WILD for. Andrew rarely pops in with some embarrassingly clumsy thing Kevin did in college or a picture of him half asleep during a practice HE scheduled and the fans eat it up.
Aaron leaves the state and goes to a city that was hiring for doctors. During his intern/probationary period, he would work 3- 12 hour shifts a week and usually pick some up as well because he didn’t like having entirely empty days. When Kevin moved to that city to play exy Asron debated letting him stay in his apartment bc he’d have social interaction and he closer to someone on the team again. I read in a fic once and I absolutely love this idea: Neil is still working on fixing their relationship by making them have calls. I edited it a little to be at least 10 minutes once a week instead of however long once a month.
I think Matt would (since he majored in business administration) just go get a job at some big corporate business of some sort. He’d be the funny work friend guy and a lot of people would ask questions about college and how he and the team get during the whole thing with the ravens to which he’d laugh and say something light hearted about the situation. Even though they asked, they still treated him great and never brought up his life before palmetto.
Renee on god I love this so much. Since she’s adopted, I think she’d start a summer camp for kids in foster care and adopted kids so they didn’t feel alone. I feel like it would be the same way a Christian summer camp is but that wouldn’t be the priority at all. She’d mention it a few times as camp Dean and they’d pray before meals (if kids didn’t want to partake that was entirely fine), but the main thing for the camp is to be able to feel less alone and gain some friendships through exy and religion just like she was. I love this idea sm and it is entirely based off a camp I went to when my dad got full custody of me that was entirely for kids in bad homes or in distaste/was in distaste and adopted.
I think Dan starts her own little league exy team and would take the team to the camp. I just don’t see her slipping out on letting her team go to a camp that’s p much CENTERED around Exy but also super fun and nice and also missing out of her friends.
I believe Allison would also work at camp with Renee bc she thinks that if there’s support at a younger age, kids won’t turn to drugs. When the camp isn’t open, She runs a non profit organization for helping families with struggling kids to work through finding ways to support them. (She would very clearly state she is not a psychologist but she does have a thing for helping people see things through their kids eyes and emotions) she runs a small fashion and clothes/accessories business that she uses for funding the non profit that allows for more people to have a chance at getting assistance through her or other programs. A lot of the kids she works with through her non profit go to Renee’s camp since she can send a majority of them through her business profit. The ones she doesn’t send have stated their stance on it and would rather not go. (Usually it was for it being too overstimulated and/or anxiety about being away from home or with a bunch of strangers).
I DEFINITELY want to believe that since Exy is one of the main topics of this camp, Kevin, Neil and the rest of team go visit for a few summers when they can. Matt would even save up his vacation days so he could go. It’s like a annual reunion with the team (Nicky would call and be on call with them every second he isn’t working or something if he can’t go back to the states to actually be there). All the kids that knew of exy previously would be jaw dropped that the entire team that beat the ravens were standing in front of them.
As for Seth, I think he didn’t cross over yk. I think he decided to stick it out until his found family was happy so he can say he’s seen them happy before he goes to the after life. I think he’s been with them since his death and the beginning broke him. Seeing Allison miserable and so broken. I guess he just wanted closure on their closure. Seeing everyone together and smiling as they played Exy with kids left him feeling genuine joy her never thought he would. They were still foxes, the disfunctional, and emotionally stunted college kids that he knew, but they were happy.
This doesn’t really fit into the the previously stated ones but I think when his old teammates going to interviews he fucks around behind them bc cmon. He would. He’s dead nobody’s gonna see him 😂 and always adds in his own two sense about the situation. He’s also joked several times about his death bc what’s gonna happen? Ghost therapy?

hello! on bsky i saw your post about baeli. although yes they engaged with leaks, they deactivated because they were being bullied and harassed for their fan theories which in itself were harmless even though i don’t approve of using leaks for such. they were called a bitch, given death threats and laughed at. so they left.
Yes, I pointed out that she shouldn't use official tag to imply that she and her mass followers are reading leaks. Afaik she didn't just read but also spread leaks and her account have big followers. So using jjk official tag to mention that, during period where the official tag is in highlight due to the last chapter is definitely tactless imo bcs posts with huge number of rp and likes will easily get sorted on top. The least those who engage with leaks can do, to have even the slightest respect left for the manga and the people who work hard to bring them to public, is to not use official tag for posts relating to it. I'm pretty sure that is a general concensus in any fandom, so it's baffling to see someone who seems experienced in fandoms to not know that... still it's so hard to prevent leaks outside JP, it's as if only the JP see that as illegal while the majority of overseas ppl normalize them, even though it's a legitimate crime for copyrighted works.
I don't know abt her acc being deactivated. I couldn't care less abt her or any leakers, nor do I care abt her theories. I see that as a fan's way of coping so whatever, that's not my concern. But yes, using leaks to post about that is wrong. Definitely wrong. I just recently knew abt that acc as well and her one post with official tag was so disturbing not only bcs of the implied leaks but also how she talked down abt Gege and bringing the JP to attention as if it's the majority voice despite that is not the case. What is that called? Misleading fact i guess, while using official jjk tag. There is a much wiser way to do it.
Still, people should not throw around death threats or insults carelessly, no matter what. But sadly, isn't that the reality in today's world social media? Ppl hide behind anonimity in socmed so they think they can be obnoxious to others and get away with it. Though, I've also seen a lot of her older posts also aggresively being rude and insulted Gege, myb in a joking manner like many others do idk, but still insults anyway. And that one praying meme she made saying to put all yuji's and world's misery and give it to Gege, which gone viral. Despite haters always think Gege will nvr found out the amount of hate and insults worldwide subjected to him about their manga, GG is still a real person behind that avatar. Perhaps, receiving hates is karma in playing for her. This is why, even behind anonimity of social media we still should mind our attitude in public posts, to not be rude and conciously spread animosity abt a real person who is just trying to create a work, even if it's meant to be a joke.

Dear tumblr,
Ngl today kinda sucked. Like I just got super upset with people for some reason n I’m not really sure why n I don’t wanna think abt it at all. I just like listen to music up until the end of lunch cuz anything last 3 period i have to pay attention to. During math today Capella called on me to answer some problem n like it was so fucking embarrassing cuz I kept on stuttering and Tyler and Camille were fucking looking at meeeee 😭😭😭 during pe today David was going around to some girls and just being super super weird. I heard Tanner say he called her babygirl and like chased her and then ofc David was staring at me n my tits and when Ava asked him if he thought I was hot/sexy he said yeah. He was like staring at me all sexually and wiping the sweat off of his face n like just being super gross. I told bro multiple times I have partners and that I didn’t like him but he still kept doing shit 😭😭 when I was changing back into my regular clothes I heard the other girls in the locker rooms saying something about David saying he looked at girls changing during school hours and we all agreed that like it was starting to get annoying and weird. Anyways Kaya went and talked to boetler about David harassing the girls and he went and talked with David but obviously David didn’t listen. ALSO I ALMOST GOT A FUCKING LUNCH DETENTION BC IG MY LOCKER WAS UNLOCKED? I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD I LOCKED IT MONDAY BEFORE I LEFT AND WHEN I WENT BACK IN TODAY MY FUCKING UNIFORM WAS IN EIFERTS ROOM AND SHE WAS ON SOME BS ABOUT HOW I NEED TO LOCK MY LOCKER. LIKE BITCH I DID TF? Besides all that tho I love Mari so so so muchhhh <3

Hiya guys
I’m confused and vaguely upset unfortunately
I have no actual proof that CB likes me back or likes me at all (not platonically, my bsf reassures me that we’re at least friends I suppose)
unfortunately for me i keep romanticizing him and hoping for interactions that could lead to something more
and they just don’t happen
and then i’m sad
but i’m trying to think of the good interactions
bc it’s not like i didn’t interact with him at all
what didn’t happen were interactions that he initiated
and that kinda hurts ngl
i mean he responded when i asked him questions and stuff
but nothing he said to me first without me prompting anything
so basically what happened today was it was an all day robotics day
which meant all the robotics kids got to skip all their classes and work on robotics projects in the shop (bc they’re all super behind)
i am not a robotics girlie, but he is and so are some of my friends
however i have 1 actually study hall and then a longish lunch period and then my last class of the day was an unofficial study hall bc my teacher left early bc she was feeling unwell
so i spent all three of those periods in the shop
originally i was just with my friends
i eventually migrated over to where CB was working at
there were other people there too so I also talked to them
but he’s just so
observant
he watches me with such intensity idk
there was this one moment where I forget what I said but he like half smiled and then some guys next to us ask him a question and his face dropped
and for some reason that made me giddy inside a bit
what made me particularly sad was I had anticipated him talking to me during art club bc he did last time i was out in the hallway working
but there were a lot more people in the hall today so he didn’t come over to me
i went over to him at one point but it was more interaction with a group of people that included him rather than 1 on 1
during my 1st block i made fun of the way my bsf bf gives me the stink eye whenever i vaguely refer or interact with CB
i think more out of exasperation with me rather than general concern for CB but idk
there’s also the whole, we’re going to be working on a sermon together with our youth pastor and we’re currently trying to organize a time to discuss the details and the entire time my brain is going “omg this is basically a date wtfffff” when no the fuck it isn’t but idk
i’ve decided tho that i’m not going to anticipate any more reactions
i’m not going to go out of my way to interact with him
if he’s where i am then i’ll interact
but i want him to approach me
mostly so i reassure myself i’m not going insane and completely hallucinating interactions that aren’t there
but idk i just want a sign
a sign i’m not going crazy and i’m not going to get hurt
i probably still will tho
oh what also sucks is that i’m missing my schools homecoming semi formal
i for some reason was under the impression that i would be home in time from a trip to still attend
like i turned in my permission form and everything
but nope
my flight is that night not the night prior
so i’m missing it
this is not CB related bc i can most definitely assure you he would not be there
he’s not really a people person
but i was really looking forward to this event to hang out with friends and get dressed up and the like
but idk my emotions are wack and i haven’t slept well all week so i’m kinda sad and drained and life is just a lot rn

Gallbladder Removal Surgery
I wanted to wait to type this after I got my appointment scheduled, but I'll just add it later
Anyway, since Tuesday, I have had severe pain in my back, chest, and abdomen. At first I thought it was just back pain that was severe enough that I could feel it through my chest and belly. On Monday I had been doing some heavy duty digging and pulling out strips of metal from our old pool that we took down, so I thought Tuesday's pain was just a result of overdoing it the day before
Then on Wednesday, I was still having pain in all 3 places and taking Tylenol/Ibuprofen for the pain. It wasn't until after eating quite a bit of gelato ice cream that the worst pain appeared while I was using the bathroom. I had just started my period so I figured it was just more severe cramps than normal and that it would pass once my pain meds kicked in (I believe I was just taking Ibuprofen at the time but my recollection is a bit fuzzy)
This had not been the case
So since Wednesday night, I was having severe pain in my chest and abdomen on my right side below my breast bone. It hurt the worst if I hiccupped, yawned, or did any kind of deep inhales of breath. I was gonna call my doctor on Thursday, but I had fallen asleep during the time I would need to call (they close at 5) So I had to wait until Friday morning to call them
I left a message bc the medical assistant wasn't available, but I also found that I could email my doctor directly through their office's medical portal website, so I had only 1000 characters to explain what was going on
She replied back an hour later, telling me that the pain I was having likely was my gallbladder since I've had issues with it in the last 5 years, and that there wasn't time for me to come in to use their facilities, so she said I needed to go to the hospital. So mum and I went to our only hospital in the ER department, where we waited about 5 hours to finally be seen
So I go back into a hospital room, get an IV in so I could get some pain meds in me, and then I got a CT scan (I can get copies of those results when I return to the hospital) 20-30 minutes after the CT scan, they did an ultrasound on my chest and where my gallbladder sits. That's where they found the real reason I was having this pain all week
Basically my gallbladder is inflamed. They won't normally do surgery when its inflamed bc complications could arise, so I have to get the inflammation down with a set of pills they prescribed me to my preferred pharmacy, which should be filled today. Once that's gone, I can get prepped for gallbladder removal surgery
If all goes well, I should have my gallbladder out early in the coming week
So yeah, my pain may have started out from shoveling metal out of the ground as a pulled muscle in my back, but it turned into inflammation of my gallbladder a day later (I haven't had back pain in 2 days)
Everyone on my mum's side of the family has had their gallbladder's removed bc of gallstones. When I first found out I had problems, I had quite a few stones already, but the surgeon I was assigned to didn't think it was necessary to get rid of it, especially if I changed my diet. I did that for a time, didn't have any chest pains for 4 of the 5 years since my first diagnosis, but have had small incidents that didn't last very long
My last severe attack was when my sister came up for our grandmother's funeral. Then over time, I had really low level pains, which prompted my doctor to have me get the endoscopy I got a few weeks ago, to rule out anything else bc she was convinced my severe heartburn that I take prescription Omeprazole for was cause by my gallbladder. Once its gone, we'll see if my heartburn goes away
My gallbladder just finally can't take it anymore, and this surgery has been a long time coming, but it'll be here within the week
I'll update this after I get my appointment scheduled. Post-surgery, I'll be making a new journal to explain how things went and what I'm doing as I recover with rest. I won't have as difficult of a time as my sister bc unlike her, I can burp and fart the gas they pump into you out faster (she's unable to pass gas easily (she can't even make herself burp) so the gas they pumped her full of couldn't dissipate fast enough, which caused her to be in more severe pain than a person normally would)
Thank you all for reading and I appreciate everyone that has been concerned for me this week. You guys are awesome

Ok, I’ve been building onto this au in the background all day today and finally have a chance to sit and write it down.
aaand it's going under a cut bc I originally wrote it out in a doc and didn't realize how long it would be here.
Consider:
The Silver-Eyed Princes, Heirs to the Emperor. There’s been less than a handful of times when Oz has had children, but they have happened over the Myriad. These persons are notable for being particularly strong necromancers and their silver eyes. However, having an identifiable trait puts them in significant danger. None, up to the present, ever had children of their own.
(also silver eyes make for an interesting parallel to how everyone who sees Gideon’s golden ones and are in the know about Alecto immediately know about her)
The last prince, before Summer, happened so long ago that the exact details have been forgotten. Her name was Maria, and she attempted to strike out on her own, which caused a clash between her and Oz. Oz couldn’t bring himself to kill her, so he locked her away in the Tomb, where she has rested since.
(this may be a little ooc, but I really like your Maria idea so)
I’ll be honest, I don’t really want to get into the details of how Summer came about, or who her other parent was (sometimes your ace self just doesn’t want to imagine some characters doing some things), other than to say she did, and was raised in the Blood of Eden as a weapon (since she’d stand a stronger chance reaching the Tomb as an adult).
Summer meets both Raven and Taiyang during the clashes between Eden and the Empire (I’m thinking a similar poly situation to G1deon/Pyrrha Dve/Wake).
Raven, being one of the necromancer twins of the Ninth House, but not wanting to be trapped there, left with her cavalier, Taiyang, to engage in the fight (or Oz requested them, paralleling how he involved STRQ in rwby canon). Yang, then, happens sometime during this period and is likely left in the care of the Cohort while her parents go on missions.
Raven and Tai, at some point, likely at the behest of Oz, achieve Lyctorhood, though in a similar way to G1deon/Pyrrha, where Tai isn’t fully consumed. It ends up being what pushes Raven to deciding to seek out an alliance with Summer against Oz.
They plan on getting Summer to the Ninth, but somewhere along the way, a pregnancy happens. It’s too late to change the plan/they only have one shot at this, so the baby has to go along with Summer. Then, there’s only enough oxygen for one of them and Summer can’t bring herself to sacrifice her daughter even if it means her life’s mission.
Baby Ruby arrives on the Ninth to a very surprised Qrow, who was left behind by his sister to oversee their house in her absence. No one had a chance to fill him in on the plan. All he knows is this child is possibly his niece. He decides to raise her, and teach her necromancy when she shows signs of it.
Additionally
Penny in this au, as an artificial person, fascinates me, because how would she come about? In the Locked Tomb, both souls and bodies are tangibly manipulatable. The resources that would be available to Pietro wouldn’t necessarily just be mechanical.
My current thought is that Pietro, maybe on the Sixth, researched deep into souls being used in necromancy and figured out something he shouldn’t have (maybe something close to how Jod animated Ulysses and Titania in the first place). Pietro created a construct and gave it a soul (no one knows where he took the soul from and they don’t stop to ask before raiding his laboratory).
Though he was caught and his work destroyed, Pietro managed to send his creation away in an escape shuttle. And so, for the second time, only a few years after the first, a girl child lands on the Ninth.
Qrow is a little more hesitant about taking this one in, but Ruby will need a cavalier and he can’t just abandon the kid, so, it is what it is.
(No one suspects the Ninth’s adopted daughters’ origins. In the case of Ruby, Summer herself was seen as the danger, her having a child wasn’t a widely known fact, and, given his own relation to Ruby, Qrow isn’t about to reveal anything. In the case of Penny, Pietro made it look like she’d been destroyed, so no one would think to look for her.)
@yellowmagicalgirl
Going off the post yesterday, consider: Locked Tomb NnD au where Penny is Ruby’s cavalier, who sacrifices herself for Ruby like Gideon does for Harrow.
Overall, it would be a pretty straightforward au in terms of GtN’s narrative (Ozpin as a Jod figure could be interesting. I think maybe Cinder in Cytherea’s place?)
Admittedly I just really like the imagery of necromancer!Ruby and Penny works well for her protector, and don't have many more thoughts here.
Also, (and partly why I’m focusing on NnD here when I may have some continued thoughts later for the fake!necro Jaune/necro!ruby/cav!pyrrha angle)
Nona has been a point of inspiration for how I write Copper. Since Nona's also a character who's had a relatively short life, knows very little about the world, but has a lot of Plot Things going on around her that she's not entirely aware of, and is linked to two main characters. It's not a 1:1 comparison, but thinking back on how Tazmuir executed such a POV has been part of my considerations with Copper.
All this is to say, I find the concept of a full Locked Tomb au with the three of them deeply entertaining bc Reasons and wanted to share that thought

You’re refilling your mug when you hear it. Voices filter out from the kitchen, floating past the coffee station where you’re pouring yourself another drink and hanging in the open air of the hallway that leads back to the rest of the office. They’re familiar voices, too—voices that belong to the resident gossips of your workplace. Lottie’s pitchy, nasal tone melds with Hyejin’s higher one, their conversation interrupted every so often by an exaggerated exclamation or gasp from Sandra, the third and final member of their trio.
“Haven’t you heard? Carolyn’s divorce was finalized over the weekend, the poor thing.”
“I can’t even begin to imagine how she’s feeling. I mean, getting back into dating at her age? Goodness!”
“And now she’ll be all alone at the holiday party, too. How sad is that?”
“It’s tragic. Poor thing.”
Rolling your eyes, you grab a packet of sugar and tear it open, upending it over your mug and watching the crystalline granules fall into the dark liquid within. You know for a fact that Sandra and her husband can’t even stand to be in the same room for an extended period of time, considering how they’d spent most of last year’s holiday party talking to entirely different groups of people. You’d sat two tables away from them during dinner, and they hadn’t even made eye contact once. And as for Lottie and Hyejin, well, you’re certain that their relationships aren’t much better. All three of them are miserable people as far as you’re concerned, and you make a mental note to check in on Carolyn—a sweet woman in her thirties who always keeps chocolate bars in her purse—on your way back to your desk.
“Sheesh. Vultures, the lot of them. Don’t you think?”
You whirl at the sound of your manager’s voice. Kyunghee Jung is a dark-haired woman in her late fifties, and she laughs when she sees your startled expression, her eyes crinkling at the corners. “Easy! You’ll spill your coffee if you’re not careful.”
“I’ll probably have a heart attack first,” you reply, pressing a hand to your chest. “What was your job before this? Some kind of intelligence operative? Are you a super spy?”
Kyunghee laughs again and joins you at the counter. “Nothing even remotely as exciting as that,” she answers, plopping her mug down beside yours. It’s decorated with what looks like every color of the rainbow, a massive smiling sunflower taking up the majority of the surface, and the only remnant of the ceramic’s original color is on the very edge of the handle where there’s a lopsided little patch of white. The piece is clearly handmade, and a stark contrast to the simple mint green cup that houses your coffee. Looking at it, it’s impossible not to smile.
“I love that,” you remark, inclining your head at her mug. “Was it a present from one of your kids?”
“Hoseok,” she confirms, running a fingertip along the imperfect handle fondly. “I’ve told you about him before—he’s right around your age.”
You chuckle. “Right, I remember. That’s why he’s the perfect match for me, right?”
“Come now, there’s more to it than that,” Kyunghee defends, waving a hand. “But yes, to answer your question. He gave it to me as a birthday present when he was eight.”
“Well, you never told me he was an artist,” you tease. “Does he have an Etsy? Can I buy one of these off him? Does he do custom orders, maybe?”
Normally, your manager is more than happy to play along with your jokes, but today Kyunghee fixes you with an uncharacteristically serious look. “Why don’t you ask him yourself?” she asks. “He’s coming to the holiday party, after all. I figured you could finally meet.”
You blink. Kyunghee has been making offhand remarks about how well you would get on with her son, Hoseok, for over a year now, but you’ve never even come close to broaching the topic of meeting him. You don’t even know anything about the man beyond the fact that his name is Hoseok and that he works somewhere downtown. He also favors tall socks and yellow suspenders if the framed photograph on Kyunghee’s desk is any indication—or at least, he certainly did when he was still in diapers. Whether he still does, is anyone’s guess.
“Wow, I had no idea he was even interested in coming,” you manage when you’ve recovered from your surprise. “Did you bribe him?”
If Kyunghee notices that your voice is a few pitches higher than usual, she doesn’t remark on it. “Oh, you know. I just told him that this would be his last chance to score free booze on the company’s dime.” She laughs. “Three more months and it’s going to be all beaches and sunshine for me. I might even become a cruise person in my retirement.”
You gasp and slap a hand to your heart. “Kyunghee! Think of the environmental impact!”
“I said I might!” she retorts immediately. “Sheesh. Even in my old age, it’s hard to conveniently forget how shitty and unsustainable those damn boats are.”
You pick up your mug and raise it in a salute. “Well, the oceans thank you.”
“My husband doesn’t,” she answers with a sigh. “He’s been dying to book one of those trips that stop all along the Mediterrannean coastline, and I can’t exactly blame him.”
“That is tempting,” you admit. “You’ll have to send photos, if you do end up going.”
“You’ll be sick of me and my photos before the first day is even up,” she promises. Then she pauses, her eyes darting toward the kitchen where silence has fallen in the last few minutes. “Speaking of being sick—you think the vultures are still hovering around in there? I haven’t had lunch yet, and I need the microwave.”
Obligingly, you edge a little closer to the kitchen doorway and poke your head around the frame, scanning for Lottie and her sidekicks. “Coast is clear. Enjoy your lunch, Kyunghee.”
She nods and raises her mug at you, returning your salute. “I always do.”

As soon as the work day ends, you fall into your usual routine. Your commute home is easily walkable on nicer days, and though the winter weather is brisker than you’d like, you decide to walk for the sake of stopping at the convenience store on the corner of the block.
Once you arrive back at your apartment, you change into your comfiest sweats and a loose tee. You turn on some music while you throw together some dinner, and settle onto the couch half an hour later with a full plate and Netflix. Television is a welcome distraction from the events of the workday, and you manage to get through three full episodes of your current show before your pesky brain decides to revisit the events of today, replaying the conversations that you’d both had and overheard.
There’s no denying that you’ve been single for quite some time now, and for the most part, it’s been by choice. Ever since graduating from university, you’ve chosen to focus more on your career, and it’s paid off both in terms of the important position you hold in your company and your above average salary. And yet, you can’t help but think back to the gossip you’d overheard earlier—about the supposed tragedy of being single and attending the upcoming holiday party alone. Your mind wanders to Kyunghee’s son, Hoseok, and how he’ll be in attendance this year. You wonder what he’s like, and whether he really is perfect for you, as Kyunghee seems to be so fond of mentioning.
And then your mind goes to Jay.
You met Jay two months ago, on a well-deserved night out after a hellish workweek. The bar was crowded, and the music coming from the neon dancefloor in the back was just loud enough to drown out your inhibitions. That, combined with the alcohol swimming through your system, made you bold. You sashayed your way across the dancefloor, dodging inebriated bodies and swaying limbs as you fixed your attention on the head of pale lavender hair and deliciously broad shoulders that awaits you just behind the bar counter. The bartender is nothing short of gorgeous, and you’ve thrown all caution to the wind. Sure, several other women are eyeing him like he’s their next meal—several men are, too—but you need another drink. And while he prepares it, you plan to flirt.
A lot.
The bar counter is sticky with spilled liquor, but you don’t pay that any mind as you lean across it, the wood digging into the narrow strip of exposed skin left by your cropped top. “Hi!” you call, and the bartender looks up from where he’s just finished pouring a round of shots for a group of raucous young men.
“Hi yourself,” he says, his pillowy lips stretching into an easy smile. “What can I get you?”
You pretend not to notice the way his eyes flicker down to the dip of your cleavage and instead put on the sultriest smile you are capable of mustering. “Vodka soda,” you tell him, injecting a bit of purr into your voice. “A bit of lemon too, if you have it.”
“Trust me, I have it,” he assures, his smile growing as he reaches for a clean glass and a clear bottle. “Name’s Jin, by the way. I’m here all night, if you need anything e—”
A loud clatter and the sound of breaking glass interrupts the rest of his sentence, and all eyes at the bar go to the source of the disturbance. Conversations stutter to a halt, and even the thumping bass of the music seems to dull. Jin darts to the other end of the bar, where you can see that one of several barstools has fallen to the ground. There’s a man on the ground as well, surrounded by shattered glass and spilled dark liquor, and your eyes widen when you realize that you know him.
And arguably, a little too well.
“Fuck,” you mutter under your breath. People are starting to lose interest in the spectacle, turning back to their own conversations and continuing on as if nothing had happened at all. The man is beginning to clamber to his feet, and a few people lend a helping hand as Jin begins barking out orders for everyone to step back so he can sweep up the broken glass. You seize upon the opportunity, latching on to the nearest arm and pulling them close so you can hide behind them. Vaguely, you’re aware of them sputtering in surprise, but you only have eyes for the man who had fallen off his stool, watching him carefully as he brushes himself off and tries to play it cool despite the sizable patch of whiskey soaking his white shirt.
“Hey, uh…” Your human shield is speaking. “Are you okay? You’re squeezing me pretty tight.”
That draws you out of your daze. Abashed, you loosen your grip on his arm and look up into his face, your throat going dry when you realize how handsome he is. His black hair is parted over his forehead, a stray strand falling into warm brown eyes set above a straight nose and an inviting mouth. There’s a freckle above his top lip, just shy of the center, and your inebriated brain wonders just what it would be like to kiss it.
“I, um—” You clear your throat and try again. “Sorry about that. I just didn’t want him to see me.”
Your newfound companion raises an eyebrow and glances over his shoulder at the drunk man, who is now being ushered out of the bar by his buddies. “You know that guy?”
You nod, cringing. “Yeah, his name’s Trent. I… may or may not have dated him for a few months last year.”
The man laughs out loud. “You dated a Trent?”
“What, like you’ve never made a questionable life choice?” you challenge. “Besides, you shouldn’t judge someone based on the sins of their parents. It’s not his fault they gave him a terrible name.”
“Sure, but it is on him for going along with it,” he replies with a shrug. “I would’ve changed my name as soon as I could if my parents had named me Trent. But hey, that’s just one man’s opinion.”
You laugh. “Okay then, Not-Trent.” Relinquishing your grip on his arm, you let your fingers graze his hand before pulling away entirely. “What do you say we continue this conversation over a drink?”
The man, whose name is decidedly not Trent, catches your fingers in his and gives them a gentle squeeze. “Happily.”
One drink turns into two, and then three. By the end of the hour, you are feeling pleasantly warm, the alcohol spreading through your veins like molasses and turning your surroundings into a hazy blur. The music has grown even louder, pounding against your eardrums, and you grab onto Not-Trent’s wrist as he sets his now-empty glass back down onto the counter.
“Do you wanna get out of here?” you ask, raising your voice to be heard over the thumping bassline. “I can’t even hear myself think.”
“The parking lot’s out back,” he suggests. “Why don’t we get some air?”
You nod and stand up on wobbly legs, cursing your decision to wear heels when you stumble into your companion. He steadies you with a gentle but firm hand, and you don’t miss the way his touch lingers on your lower back, his palm warm through the material of your blouse.
Together, the two of you pick your way through the throng of swaying bodies on the dancefloor. The bassline thuds in your ears, dark and hypnotic, and you can feel the reverberations thrumming across the slats of your ribs and echoing in the cavern of your chest like a second heartbeat.
It’s almost a relief, then, when you step out into the cool night air. Your ears continue to ring for a few seconds, but it soon fades and leaves behind only the muted hum of traffic from the street and the faint sound of music from inside. At your side, Not-Trent releases a long breath and leans against the brick wall of the building, and you turn to take in the steep slopes of his side profile as he tilts his head up toward the velvety night sky.
He’s handsome. Dressed in ripped jeans and black leather, he’s a sight to behold, and you’d be lying if you said you hadn’t been craving a bit of intimacy for quite some time now. The alcohol swimming through your system makes you bolder than you normally would be, and you reach out to lay a hand on his arm. He turns toward you with a silent question glimmering in his irises, but you simply step closer, until you’re pinning him against the wall with your body and you’re breathing the same air.
“Hey,” you say, your voice an airy whisper. His eyes are near obsidian in the dimness of the parking lot, illuminated only by the orange glow of the streetlamps on either end, and your gaze flickers down to his mouth before roving to the freckle that sits upon his top lip. “Kiss me?”
Your companion’s eyes widen. His lips part, but no words come out, and you’re about to repeat your question when he finally finds his voice again.
“That’s really… that’s not a good idea.” Awkwardly, he clears his throat, but the hoarseness of his voice and the harsh bob of his Adam’s apple give away his true desires. “Look, you’ve been drinking. We both have, and—”
You cut him off, pushing up to your tiptoes and planting a messy kiss to the soft dip just beneath his bottom lip. “Don’t care,” you mumble against his skin. “I want you.”
Your companion laughs weakly. His hands find their way to your waist and pause there, as if he can’t decide whether to push you away or pull you closer. “You don’t even know me,” he murmurs.
“I don’t have to know you,” you reply. Your fingers drag down his chest, trailing along the delicate silver necklace that rests against the black of his shirt. From the chain hangs a round pendant, the surface engraved with the letter J. Slowly, you trace it with a fingertip, the metal shining even in the dim light, and satisfaction blooms in your heart when your companion’s throat bobs again. “I want you,” you breathe, soft but insistent. “Isn’t that enough?”
“I—” He clears his throat and tries again, and you wonder if he realizes that his hands have slid down to your hips, or that there’s a growing hardness against your lower stomach that’s becoming increasingly harder to ignore. “Look, I’m flattered—really, I am. And you’re… I mean, fuck, you’re gorgeous. But I don’t think we should do anything when you’re clearly not in the right frame of mind to be making this kind of decision, and—”
“And, nothing.” You wind your arms around his neck, pressing close and grinding subtly against the bulge in his pants. You smirk when he releases a low hiss from between his teeth, and hide it by laying a trail of kisses along the stretch of bare skin exposed by the dip of his collar. “Stop being such a gentleman,” you whisper. Your fingers trail down his chest, past the silver of his pendant and down to the faded denim of his jeans, teasing at the cool metal of his belt buckle. “I want this. But if you’re not interested, I can always go back in there and—”
The rest of your sentence dies in your throat. Your companion has tugged you flush against him in one smooth motion, and your gasp is cut off by the firm press of his mouth against yours. Immediately, you melt into the kiss, and a moan tears from your lips when he spins you around and pins you against the brick wall of the building.
“You’re a spoiled little thing, huh?” His breath fans hot against your cheeks, and you shiver when you meet his eyes and see the dark promise reflected there. “Used to getting what you want, huh, princess?”
Your breath hitches at the endearment—something your companion doesn’t miss. “Oh, you like that?” He chuckles hoarsely, and when he speaks again it’s in a rasp that sends heat straight to your core. “What else do you like, hmm? You want me to be rough with you, princess? Or should I be gentle and treat you like a queen?”
You reach up, raking your fingers through his hair and skimming across the soft strands of his undercut before finding purchase at his nape. “You talk too much,” you whisper.
And then you’re crushing your mouth back against his, whining when he immediately takes back control of the kiss. His grip slides downward, his fingertips digging into the skin just above the curve of your ass, and you squeak when he grabs the back of your thigh and hooks your leg around his waist.
“You feel that?” he rasps into your ear, nipping at the delicate shell and chortling when you keen. Your skirt has ridden up dangerously high on your spread thighs, and you let out a soft whimper when he grinds harshly against your center. The lace of your panties and the denim of his jeans are the last barricades between you, and you wonder, vaguely, whether your companion has a bit of an exhibitionist streak when he slides one of your sleeves down your shoulder and begins kissing a trail down to the swell of your cleavage. “You feel how hard you’ve gotten me?”
You lean down, kissing the soft spot where his jaw meets his ear before letting your teeth graze against his skin. “Why don’t you do something about it then?”
He hisses out a sharp breath, his hands tightening their hold on your hips. “You’ve got quite the mouth on you, huh? I can’t wait to make you eat your words.”
Any retort you may have had is interrupted by a sudden swell of music and the sound of a slamming door. Whirling to face the source of the noise, you immediately spot a familiar head of lavender hair atop broad shoulders encapsulated in the black uniform of the bar. Jin hasn’t noticed the two of you yet, his attention fixated on his cell phone screen, but he looks up when you let out a little squeak of surprise and shove your companion’s chest in an attempt to create some distance between you.
“Hey.” Jin raises a hand in greeting, a knowing smirk curling his lips. “This phone call shouldn’t be too long, so please. Don’t stop the party on my behalf.”
Heat floods to your cheeks. There isn’t much use protesting against his insinuation, considering the rather compromising position you’re in. Much to your relief, though, your companion simply huffs out a chuckle and waves Jin off. “Thanks, man, but we’ll get out of your hair.” Lowering his voice, he turns back to you. “Coming, princess?”
You nod. He offers you his hand, and you take it gratefully, adjusting your skirt so that it drapes properly over your hips and thighs again.
“Have a good night!” Jin calls after you, amusement lacing every word. You can’t work up the nerve to respond, and luckily, you don’t have to. Your companion leads you around the corner of the building, where several rows of cars are parked beneath an orange streetlamp. On this side, the exterior brick wall is painted with a mural, and you admire the colorful galaxies and nebulae swirling amidst silvery white stars and the word serendipity spray-painted in pale blue.
The last car in the row is parked just beneath the letter Y, and it’s here that your companion stops. The sleek black vehicle has an almost vintage feel to it, and you glance up when you hear the jingle of metal.
“I’m guessing this is yours?”
He nods, pulling a set of keys from the pocket of his leather jacket and inserting one into the lock. “Yeah. You like it?”
“It’s beautiful,” you tell him, tracing the edge of the passenger window “Makes my car look like a total piece of shit by comparison.”
Your companion chuckles, pulling open the driver’s side door, and you catch a glimpse of your reflection in the window as he presses a button to unlock the rest of the doors. Your hair’s a bit of a mess and your mascara has smudged beneath your right eye, and you hurriedly swipe at it as your companion turns his attention back to you.
“So,” he says. “Now what? I can give you a ride home, if you want.”
Deliberately, you let your gaze drop down to his crotch, where his bulge—albeit waning—is still visible. “Seriously? I thought you were going to… what was it again? Make me eat my words?”
And just like that, it’s as if a switch has flipped. His eyes darken to obsidian, his lips settling into a stern line, and you barely have time to draw in a breath before he’s caging you against the side of his car and molding his mouth to yours. Your lips part beneath the onslaught, and he wastes no time in dipping inside to explore, licking into you until you’re both breathless.
“Inside,” he breathes once you’ve broken apart, and you instantly obey. You wrench the door open and all but tumble into the backseat, and he isn’t far behind as he slots himself between your spread thighs. Your hands fly to his shoulders where you help him shuck off his leather jacket, tossing it carelessly to the front where it lands in a heap on the dashboard before focusing your attention on the hem of his black t-shirt. Your companion obliges you as you push it upward to expose his toned abdomen, grabbing it by the collar and pulling it off the rest of the way when your reach falls a little short in the cramped interior of the backseat.
“Your turn,” he whispers when you try to reach for his belt, his hands settling around your wrists. “It’s only fair, princess.”
Pouting, you let your hands fall limp in his grasp, and he chuckles as he leans down to pacify you with a kiss. Deft fingers find the hem of your blouse, pushing it up until you can twist out of the material. You throw it aside with no regard for where it lands on the ground, and lay back as your companion drinks you in, his dark gaze raking across the lacy black lingerie that decorates your curves and skims you like a second skin. “Fuck,” he breathes, his voice hoarse with a combination of amazement and disbelief. “You’re stunning.”
You smile, trailing a fingertip from the dip of his collarbone down to the silver necklace that sits prettily against his bare chest. “You’re not so bad yourself,” you tell him, tracing the letter engraved into his pendant. “Jay.”
Your companion—newly dubbed Jay—smiles back. “You’re something else, princess,” he murmurs, before leaning down to kiss you again. He explores your mouth thoroughly—languidly—before moving down to nip at your neck, and already, you can feel the beginnings of marks beginning to form, blossoming across your skin as irrefutable proof of your tryst.
It isn’t long before Jay frees you from your bra, watching with carnal fascination as your breasts spill out of the lacy material. You whine when he reaches out to cup one, his palm hot against your bare skin, and he smirks crookedly when a pinch to your nipple makes your back arch off the leather of the seat. “So pretty,” he rasps. “I can’t wait to see how you look stretched around my cock.”
“Stop waiting, then,” you tell him, trying again for his belt buckle. This time, he lets you fumble it open, leaning back to watch you work with hooded eyes and a lazy little smile. Emboldened, you push aside the denim of his jeans and free his cock from the confines of his underwear. He’s hard and hot and heavy in your palm, and your tongue darts out instinctively at the sight of the pearlescent precum beading the tip.
“Jay,” you murmur, thumbing across the head of his erection and smirking when he hisses in pleasure. “Fuck me.”
Jay seems to consider your demand, mischief flitting across his features before he manages to school his expression into something more neutral. “Where are your manners, princess?” he asks, pushing your hand away and giving himself a few long, slow strokes. “Say please, if you want it so bad.”
For a moment, you consider refusing. Jay seems to be the type of man who enjoys a good game, but between the state of his cock and the earlier interruption, you’re pretty sure he’s nearing his limit. And even if he isn’t, you are. And so, you shelve your pride for the time being, and trail a hand down the length of your bared body as you bat your lashes up at him. “Fuck me, Jay,” you repeat. “Please. Want your cock so bad.”
His answering smile is equal parts amusement and satisfaction, and altogether sinful. “That’s my girl,” he rasps, before shoving your panties aside. Lining the head of his cock up, he enters you in one smooth thrust, and you moan as your walls stretch to accommodate his girth. You’re more than wet enough to take him in his entirety, your eyes fluttering shut when he bottoms out, and he groans hoarsely as he takes a second to relish the feeling of your walls gripping him so tightly.
“Fuck. You’re so wet, princess.” Jay dips a thumb into your slick, spreading it across your clit and rubbing a few experimental circles around the sensitive nub. He groans when you clench around him, his hips stuttering, and you squeeze around him again just to hear him grit out another curse. “Shit. I’m not going to last long at this rate.”
“Don’t care,” you murmur, rocking against him and sighing when the motion sends him a little deeper into your core. “Just fuck me, Jay. Please.”
Jay leans in, a dark lock of hair falling across his forehead as he plants an indulgent kiss on your waiting mouth. “Anything for you, princess,” he breathes. Slowly, he pulls back until only the tip of his cock remains inside you. Then he’s slamming forward, and you can’t even find it in yourself to care about the obscene sound of skin slapping against skin or the way the car rocks. Jay’s thumbing across your clit in tight circles that he times perfectly with the rock of his hips, and you wonder whether the rapidly building pleasure in your belly is due to your dry spell or if he’s just that good. You can feel every inch of him as he fills you up repeatedly, his brows furrowed in concentration and his dark hair flopping as he drives deeper in search of the spot that will have you seeing stars.
You know he’s found it when the pleasure in your belly spikes, your back arching off the backseat. Your skin is sticky against the dark leather and you’re certain the sweat gathering at your temples has destroyed the last of your makeup, but Jay alleviates your concerns with a particularly well-timed thrust and a harsh nip to the soft spot at your clavicle. You keen out something unintelligible, and his lips stretch into a smirk against your skin.
“That’s it,” he encourages. “Cum for me, princess.”
That’s all it takes for the mounting pressure to snap. Your body collapses into a searing orgasm, the pleasure flaring out like a supernova and spreading through your veins like wildfire. “F-fuck, Jay—” you gasp, your fingers scrabbling at his back for purchase and no doubt leaving scratches in their wake. “Fuck, you feel so—”
The remainder of your words trail off into garbled nonsense, and Jay huffs out a strained chuckle as he begins chasing after his own orgasm, rutting against you in a way that both prolongs your pleasure and sustains his own. “Shit,” he groans, his eyes fluttering shut. “Fuck, that’s it. Look at you—taking my cock so well. So pretty and perfect and—”
Whatever he was going to say dissolves into a groan as he gives a few more erratic thrusts before his release overwhelms him. Creamy warmth floods through you, and you rub his back tiredly as his head drops onto your shoulder, his breath flaring hot against your skin as he rides out his orgasm.
It takes several long seconds for the pleasure to recede. Your legs are still shaky when Jay pulls away, straightening up and tucking himself back into his jeans. There’s an empty ache in your core now that you are no longer stuffed full of his cock, and already, you are missing the feeling. Still, you push that aside as you sit up, adjusting your panties and wincing at the wetness that soaks the material and sticks to your skin.
“So,” Jay says after a moment’s silence, and you glance over at him when he huffs out a short chuckle. “That was fun.”
“Not bad at all,” you agree weakly, an irrepressible smile tugging at your lips.
Jay grins. It’s a bright, infectious grin—and it’s one that you’ve already grown rather fond of in the short period of time you’ve known him. It’s a grin that showcases his perfect teeth and crinkles his eyes into crescents, and one that all but forces you to grin back.
“Here, give me your phone,” he says, and you watch as he punches in his number once you hand it over. “Just in case you ever wanna do this again,” he tells you, handing it back. “Don’t be a stranger, princess.”
You glance down at his contact information, saved under the moniker you’d given him and affixed with a short string of emojis. “I won’t,” you tell him, chuckling. “In fact, I just might take you up on the offer.”

The screen of your laptop has long since gone dark, and you stretch your arms overhead before waking it again. Rolling your shoulders, you navigate back to the main Netflix menu, hovering over the resume button and watching the trailer loop in the background.
You’d be lying if you said you didn’t think about Jay often. You’ve texted each other quite often since that night in his car—usually when you’re bored and alone and have had a few too many glasses of wine in the evenings. You’ve found yourself tapping on his name instinctively during those odd, ambiguous hours—when late night and early morning meld together and you’re aching for a bit of relief.
And as if he knows you’re thinking about him, your phone buzzes against the coffee table, the screen lighting up with a familiar name.
[11:22pm] Jay 😘🍆💦: thinkin about u, pretty girl 😘
It’s followed by an image, and your heart rate picks up, thudding loudly against your ribs as you open it.
Tumblr media
Fuck.
Your memories of Jay’s face—made all the more hazy by the alcohol and the amount of time elapsed since your first and only meeting—truly don’t do him justice. Though the photograph cuts off just above his nose, you can still admire the sharp angle of his jaw and the fullness of his puckered lips. His skin is golden against the white of his t-shirt, and you lick your lips before thumbing across your screen to respond.
[11:23pm] You: yeah? what else are you thinking about, hmm?
His response is instantaneous.
[11:23pm] Jay 😘🍆💦: thinking about that pretty little pussy of yours
[11:23pm] Jay 😘🍆💦: how good it looked in that pic u sent me tuesday 👅
You barely even notice the way your hand begins trailing down your body, pushing aside the elastic waistband of your sweats. It’s as if you’re on autopilot, as your fingers find their way to the damp spot growing on your panties.
Yeah? you write back with your free hand, already teasing at your clothed folds with the other. Tell me more.

It’s an uncharacteristically warm Friday morning when you find yourself in the elevator with Jimin, a good friend of yours who works on one of the lower levels of your office building. “Morning,” he says as he steps in, a large iced coffee in hand despite the fact that it’s still very much the middle of winter. Then he squints, leaning a little closer. “Oh my god. You got laid!”
“Oh my god, not so loud!” you hiss, whacking him on the shoulder and jabbing the button to close the elevator doors. “And no, not exactly. I’ve just been texting Jay.”
“Texting, sure.” Jimin mimes air quotes around the word and rolls his eyes. “You’re sexting him, and we all know it. How many pictures of his dick do you have saved on your phone now?”
“Oh my—” You sigh, trailing off. “Can we not talk about this right now?”
“Right, of course.” Jimin takes a sip of his coffee and pretends to check his watch. “When would you like to talk about it then? Do you need to check your calendar? Can I book an appointment for later this afternoon?”
You stick your tongue out at him. “Shut up.”
Jimin just grins, his lips puckered around his straw. “So, how’s Jay? Have you asked for his real name yet?”
You shrug. “What’s the point? It’s not like we’re friends or anything. We’ve literally only met the one time.”
“Yeah, but that’s just because you’re a coward,” Jimin points out. “What’s stopping you from meeting up with him again? You have his number. You have at least one photo of his dick. Ask him out already!”
“It’s not that easy, though,” you sigh. The elevator doors open to let a few more people in, and you move to the side and lower your voice so that only Jimin can hear. “Jay—he’s not exactly boyfriend material. I mean, we fucked in his car the first night we met.”
“So?” Jimin frowns and takes another sip of his iced coffee. “You talk about things besides sex, don’t you? You definitely told him about your goldfish dying, at least. I mean, you told him before you even told me!”
“Yes I did, and he was appropriately sympathetic about Mustache’s passing, unlike some people,” you sniff. “Get over it already, won’t you?”
“Never,” Jimin replies, ignoring your pointed jab. “I’m sure you only told him because you knew you could get a sympathy sext out of it. How many dick pics did you get out of that night, anyway?”
“You’re gross,” you tell him, punching him in the arm. “Not to mention that’s exactly why Jay’s not boyfriend material. He’s perfectly happy with—whatever it is we’re doing. I can’t just ruin that by asking him to get dinner.” You frown, gnawing on your bottom lip. “I don’t want to make this into something that it’s not.”
Jimin hesitates. “Fine, okay. I guess I can understand that.”
“Yeah.”
There’s a pause, as the elevator makes a few more stops. You watch the numbers crawl higher, and know that you’ll soon have to part ways with your friend..
“Hey.” You nudge Jimin with your shoulder, just as the elevator doors close and you begin the ascent to his floor. “Wanna know something interesting?”
Jimin looks up from his phone, where he’s scrolling through Twitter. “Always.”
“My boss’ son is coming to the party tomorrow.”
Jimin’s eyebrows disappear into his ashy blond hair at your revelation. “Kyunghee’s son? Hoseok, or whatever?”
You chuckle. “The one and only. She’s found about a million ways to bring him up in conversation this past week. She thinks we’re a match made in heaven.”
“Wow.” Jimin releases a long breath. “I wonder what he’s like, then.”
You shrug, adjusting the strap of your work tote over your shoulder. “I guess we’ll find out, won’t we?”
///
The morning of the party, you wake up to an empty refrigerator. Half stale cereal and the last dregs of milk from the carton become your breakfast, and you munch on that as you mull over the contents of your closet. You’re still in your pajamas, but you pull out your comfiest jeans and a sweater to change into after you finish eating. Then you turn to your collection of dresses, rifling through them and mentally debating the merits of each material and color.
You could go in one of two directions tonight. On the one hand, this is still a work party, and as such your attire should probably maintain a certain level of decorum. But on the other, you’re meeting Hoseok Jung for the first time tonight. You aren’t necessarily looking to start anything with the man, of course, but you do want to look good. With that in mind, you eventually settle on a deep red number that you pull out of the very back of your closet, made of a silky material that skims your curves and accentuates your best assets. Laying it on the bed, you begin your hunt for a pair of matching shoes. Twenty minutes of searching and another five of agonizing later, you step into the bathroom, intent on showering and getting on with the rest of your day.
Upon exiting the bathroom, you decide that tackling the state of your refrigerator takes top priority over your other weekend errands. Sitting down at the dining table, you take stock of what you have in your pantry, planning out your meals for the upcoming week and making a list of what you need to purchase in order to make them a reality. It’s just after one in the afternoon when you exit your apartment with a completed grocery list and your purse stuffed full of reusable canvas bags. The store is a short walk from where you live, and you decide to put in your earbuds as your feet navigate the familiar route. The temperature is surprisingly mild for winter, and the sun shines bright from its perch in the cloudless blue sky. It’s perfect weather for a walk, and the fresh air clears your mind and eases your heart.
At the grocery store, you forego the stack of baskets and instead grab a shopping cart. Weaving your way up and down the aisles, you check items off the list on your phone one by one. Eventually, you find yourself in the cereal section, grabbing a box of granola before turning to where your favorite cereal normally sits. It isn’t there, and you turn in a full circle, confused, until your gaze finally lands on the familiar box on the top shelf.
Great.
Sighing, you push up to your tiptoes, stretching your arm as far as it can reach. Your fingertips graze the shelf, but you can’t quite get a grip on the box itself. Glancing down, you scan the bottommost shelf and wonder if you can step on it to give yourself a boost.
“Need a hand?”
The voice comes from behind you, and a vague sense of familiarity sparks in your brain. Slowly, you turn around, and your entire body freezes when your gaze slides up to the speaker’s face.
“Jay.” The syllable escapes you in a near whisper. “H-hi.”
“Hey.”
Jay stands before you, looking like sin incarnate in a faded denim jacket, black sweatpants slung low on his hips, and not much else. At his throat, his silver necklace sparkles, the silver J pendant glinting beneath the fluorescent lights of the store, and you’re suddenly beyond grateful that you decided to put on a decent sweater before leaving.
“Here,” he says, stepping forward until he’s close enough that you can smell his cologne—sandalwood tinged with sweet citrus. “Let me help you with that.”
The sudden proximity has your breath hitching in your throat. Your heart thuds erratically against your ribs as he reaches around you, the denim flaps of his jacket gaping in a way that exposes even more of his bare chest. By the time he pulls back with your cereal box in hand, you feel almost faint, belatedly realizing that you’d been holding your breath.
“You wanted this, right?” Jay asks, and you aren’t sure if you’re imagining the innuendo underlying his words or the teasing inflection of the syllables.
“Y-yeah, that’s the one,” you manage, fighting to quell the uneven tempo of your heartbeat as you accept the box. “Thanks.”
“Happy to help,” he replies. Then he leans in, close enough that you can feel his warm breath fanning your cheek as he murmurs his next sentence into your ear. “Anything for you, princess. You know that.”
Heat floods across your cheeks. Your heart skips two full beats before taking off into a sprint, and it’s impossible to ignore the way your core begins to thrum, as if anticipating a repeat of that night you first met all those weeks ago. Almost instinctively, your eyes dart up to the ceiling where the security cameras are, and Jay follows the trajectory of your gaze with a low chuckle and a soft brush of your cheek with the pad of his thumb.
“Sorry, princess. As much as I’d love to get my hands on you, I’m kind of on a time crunch today.”
You can’t stop the wave of disappointment that washes over you, even if you’re in the exact same boat. “Rain check, then?”
“Rain check,” he agrees. Slowly, you reach up to touch the engraved silver pendant resting against his chest, rubbing it between your fingertips before tracing the curve of the J, and he catches your wandering fingers between his and presses a gentle kiss to your knuckles.
“You know how to reach me,” he murmurs with a mischievous wink. His gaze lingers even after he’s released your hand, and you clear your throat awkwardly before turning to deposit your cereal box into your shopping cart.
The two of you go your separate ways then, exchanging goodbyes. You finish the rest of your grocery shopping in a daze, idly going through the motions at checkout and letting muscle memory guide you back home. Your arms are aching by the time you step past the threshold of your apartment, and you heave your shopping bags up onto the kitchen counter with a relieved sigh before returning to the entryway to toe off your shoes. You throw together a sandwich as you unpack your groceries, taking a big bite as you walk back to your bedroom to look at the dress you’ve picked out. Pacing over to the closet, you double-check your shoe choice. Briefly, you debate whether or not to wear flats instead of heels.
There are still a few hours left before you have to start getting ready, so you take the last of your sandwich back to the kitchen and whip up a smoothie to go with it. You scroll through your phone as you eat, browsing through the latest news headlines and scrolling through your social media accounts. Just before six o’clock, as the sun starts setting beyond the horizon and casting long shadows across your living room, you start getting changed. You snap a photo in the mirror once you’re dressed, pulling up Jimin’s name in your phone and sending it to him.
[6:13pm] You: last chance to come tonight
Your phone buzzes with a response almost immediately.
[6:14pm] Jimin: nah. i’d hate to step on hoseok’s toes.
You laugh. Not so fast, you text back. We don’t even know anything about the guy yet. What if he’s boring? Or sexist?
[6:15pm] Jimin: if u think kyunghee raised a sexist you’re seriously deranged
[6:16pm] Jimin: now stop taking selfies and get your ass out the door! you’re gonna be late!!!!

Each year, the holiday party tends to be a little over the top, and this year is no exception. The company has bought out the entirety of a restaurant for the evening, and you glance around in amazement at the twinkling lights and lush evergreen boughs decorating the walls and strung up along the ceiling. An assortment of sparkling ornaments hangs from the massive tree in the far corner, interspersed between silver tinsel and more lights. Grabbing a champagne flute off a passing server’s tray, you head farther into the restaurant, skirting around tables draped in creamy linen and greeting your colleagues and friends.
“Is she alone?”
“Figures.”
The voices come from the direction of the open bar, and somehow, you just know that they’re talking about you. Lottie, Hyejin, and Sandra are clustered in the corner with glasses of wine in hand, casting glances around the restaurant and gossiping about anything and everything with a pulse. You’re sorely tempted to grab the nearest pitcher of water off a table and pour it over their heads, but you suppress the urge and instead head over with a saccharine smile. “So lovely to see you, {Name},” Lottie says as you approach.
“I love your dress,” Sandra adds. “Very slimming.”
“Thanks,” you reply, putting on your brightest, fakest smile. “Yours is great too. How are you and your husband enjoying the party so far?”
Sandra’s face sours, and you hide your smirk in your champagne flute. Maybe it’s petty to bring up her rocky relationship, but you’ve been subject to snide comments from Sandra and her friends for years now and it’s become increasingly hard for you to bite your tongue. A few tables away, you spot Sandra’s husband, Rodney, take an enormous gulp of his whiskey and wince as it burns down his throat.
“We’re all having a wonderful time, aren’t we, ladies?” Lottie cuts in when Sandra takes too long to answer. “Hyejin’s date is over there with Rodney, and my boyfriend is fetching himself a drink. You remember Dev, don’t you?”
You nod, even though it’s a lie. “Sure. Say hi to him for me.”
Lottie’s lips curve up into a smile, her head tilting to the side, and you’re suddenly reminded of a snake rearing its head back for the kill. “So, what about you? Have you brought someone tonight, or—?”
“Hi ladies!” Kyunghee materializes at your side, her lips painted a festive red shade to match her dress. She’s wearing the disingenuous smile that she reserves for the resident gossips of your office, and you try not to let your relief show on your face when Lottie’s attention refocuses on your manager.
“So good to see you, Kyunghee,” she simpers. “Have you been here long?”
“Not as long as you,” your manager replies, nodding at the near-empty wineglass in her hand. “I see we’re already making a dent in the wine supply, and you’re falling behind, {Name}. Why don’t we go remedy that, hmm?”
She doesn’t give you a chance to respond, grabbing your arm and leading you away. Kyunghee is surprisingly spry for a woman her age, and you follow after her with some difficulty as she marches through the throngs of conversing people, all the way to the line at the open bar.
“I’d like you to meet someone,” she says, gesturing at the man standing at the end of the line with his back to you. “{Name}, this is my son, Hoseok.”
The man turns around at the sound of his name, a warm, affable smile stretched across his face. “Hi, I’m H—” he begins, but he’s cut off by your sharp intake of breath. His eyes go wide, his smile fading as his mouth falls open, and you’re certain you’re wearing an even more dumbfounded expression. “It’s you,” he says, his voice hoarse.
“Wh-what… how…” You trail off, speechless. The words flounder and die in your throat as your brain struggles to process this development, and you practically feel the way the gears in your head churn to a stuttering halt.
Because this man standing before you, the one that Kyunghee has just introduced as her son, is none other than Jay. He looks completely and utterly devastating in a navy waistcoat and matching slacks, a green tie shaped like a Christmas tree knotted loosely around the white collar of his shirt. His dark hair is parted, his undercut exposed, and you can’t tear your gaze away from the loose strand that has fallen across his forehead.
“H-hi.”
Jay—Hoseok—swallows. “Hi.”
Kyunghee glances between the two of you, her brows furrowing. “I take it you two already know each other?”
Hoseok’s ears begin taking on a scarlet tinge, the color spreading to his cheeks as he struggles to find his vocabulary again. “I—yeah. Yeah, we’ve met.”
“Right. Do I even want to know how?” she asks dubiously, before shaking her head and huffing out a sigh. “No, forget I asked. I don’t want to know. I’ll just leave you two to… catch up.”
Waving goodbye, Kyunghee disappears back into the crowd of partygoers milling around. Hoseok turns back to you, sucking in a deep breath, and you fight the urge to stare down at your toes as his gaze roves across your face.
“I can’t believe this,” he says, breaking the silence that’s fallen between you at last. “My mom’s been talking about you for months, but I never imagined that it’d be you.”
“You’re telling me,” you reply, finally having recovered your voice. “Kyunghee brings you up all the time, but I never thought… I mean, we didn’t even know each other’s names, and now…” You shrug. “Here we both are.”
“It’s a pretty crazy coincidence, huh?”
“Definitely.”
A beat passes, and then two. You’re fully aware that you’re staring, but you don’t dare blink, afraid that he’ll disappear if you close your eyes. Of all the things that you thought might happen tonight, this particular meeting wasn’t even close to making the list. Never would you have thought that the man you only knew as Jay would turn out to be Kyunghee’s son. Never would you have connected Jay to the photographed little boy in yellow suspenders on Kyunghee’s desk, or realized that they were one and the same.
From behind you, someone loudly clears their throat. Another voice calls for you to get a move on, already, and both you and Hoseok belatedly realize that you are still standing in line for the open bar. Hoseok’s eyes go wide again, and you nearly tread on his toes when you both try to move forward. “After you,” he says with a chuckle, gesturing for you to go in front of him, and that’s enough to break the tension. You step ahead of him with a laugh, catching up to the line, and Hoseok doesn’t stray far as he follows your lead.
“So, what are you drinking?” he asks, a smile playing at the corner of his lips. “Vodka soda with a twist?”
“Actually, I think I’m going to stick with wine tonight,” you reply, peering at the bottles lined up on the counter. “What about you?”
“Hmm. Jack and coke, I think. Nothing else is really calling my name right now.”
Grabbing your drinks, the two of you begin searching for a place to sit. You spot Kyunghee at a table near the front, and she smiles knowingly and offers you a thumbs-up when she catches your eye. Eventually, you settle on a table near the Christmas tree, the lights glimmering off the glasses and reflecting off your knife as you pick it up to butter a slice of crusty bread from the basket in the center. Hoseok follows your lead, grabbing a piece for himself, and the two of you munch in silence for a few seconds before Hoseok breaks it.
“You know, my mom says you’re the perfect girl for me” he says with a dry little chuckle. “Think she’s right?”
“I don’t know,” you answer. “It’s funny, though—Kyunghee’s been telling me the same thing. She sings your praises all the time.”
Hoseok laughs and scratches the back of his neck. “Oh, jeez, that’s kind of embarrassing. I’m glad she’s saying good things, at least.”
“You don’t have to worry about that,” you tell him, grinning. “She’s only shown us one photo album from your childhood.”
His face crumples. “Was it the Disneyland one?”
You nod, fighting back laughter, and watch as Hoseok groans and lets his forehead meet the linen-covered tabletop with a dull thunk.
“I don’t like rollercoasters,” he mumbles into the tablecloth, his voice muffled by the material. “They make me queasy.”
“Even now?” you ask, and he nods.
“Yep.”
The clinking of a fork against a wineglass—amplified and broadcast through an array of invisible speakers built into the restaurant’s walls—interrupts any further conversation. You twist in your seat to watch your company’s leadership give their opening remarks, listening as they congratulate everyone for a great year and wish you a happy holiday season. The servers begin going out with plates of food, and you thank them as they set yours down. Hoseok does the same before raising his glass in your direction, clearing his throat and offering you a crooked little smile.
“Here’s to second meetings.”
“Third, if you count the store earlier,” you correct, and he chuckles and nods in agreement before clinking his drink against yours.
You spend the entirety of dinner chatting with Hoseok, getting to know him beyond the few facts Kyunghee has mentioned and what little you’ve gleaned from texting him the last two months. He tells you all about his dance studio, Hope World, where he teaches both contemporary dance and the occasional Pilates class. You find out that in addition to rollercoasters, he also dislikes sour foods and raisins, but he loves mint chocolate and sweet and sour pork. He also has a very low tolerance for alcohol—something he tells you as he tilts the rest of his drink into his mouth. “Should I be worried?” you ask as he sets his glass back down, and he chuckles and shakes his head, sending the loose tendril of hair flopping across his forehead.
Dessert is served, and subsequently eaten. The music is turned up, and people slowly begin finding their way to the open space that serves as an impromptu dancefloor. Hoseok rises to his feet and extends a hand toward you, and you only hesitate for the briefest of seconds before accepting it. He leads you out amongst the other swaying couples, his hand finding its way to the curve of your waist, and you rest your hand on his shoulder as he begins guiding you in a slow, simple waltz.
“So?” Hoseok’s voice is a low murmur, soft and gentle against the shell of your ear. “What’s the verdict?”
You blink. “The verdict?”
Even without looking, you can tell that he’s smiling. You can hear it in the lilt of his voice, and imagine it in the curve of his lips. “About me,” he clarifies, carefully pulling back so you can spin in a circle beneath his outstretched arm. “About us. My mom will never let me hear the end of it if she turns out to be right, but I still wanna know. So what are you thinking?”
“Are you asking if I think we’re perfect for each other?” you ask, giggling. “I don’t know if I believe in all that, to be quite honest. Destiny and soulmates—I mean, doesn’t it seem a little too good to be true?”
Hoseok hums. “Maybe. But considering all that’s happened to us in the last couple of months, don’t you think there’s a chance that it's all more than simple coincidence?”
“Maybe,” you concede. “Still, I don’t know if I can give you a verdict just yet. We haven’t even gone on a date.”
“We did do things a little backwards,” Hoseok admits, tugging you close and winding his arm around your waist. “Let me make it up to you, then. Are you free tomorrow?”
“What if I am?” you challenge.
“Then, I’d like to take you out for breakfast,” he replies without missing a beat.
The prospect of a proper meal with Hoseok Jung does something funny to your insides. Still, something makes you hesitate, and you avert your gaze as you search for your next words. “I wasn’t expecting to end tonight with a date,” you admit slowly. “I honestly didn’t even think you were interested in… well, anything beyond sex, to be honest.”
Hoseok’s face creases into a frown, and you look up again when he murmurs your name. “I understand why you would think that,” he says. “Really, I do. But honestly? I had every intention of texting you and asking you out properly. I was going to play it cool and wait a few days, which was stupid in retrospect. And then you texted me first.”
“I texted y—” You trail off. “Oh, god.”
“It seemed like you’d been drinking,” Hoseok says with a shrug, and you press a finger to his lips before he can say anything more. You remember the night in question, and you remember the bottle of wine you’d consumed. And you definitely remember the photographs you’d sent of yourself, and the ones Hoseok had been kind enough to send in return.
“Wait, so you were going to ask me out? And then I… I sexted you?”
Hoseok nods, and you groan and bury your face into his chest.
“I can’t believe this,” you mutter, and you feel laughter rumble through his chest before a hand comes up to stroke along your back.
“Believe me, I’m not complaining,” he assures you. “But I’d still really like to take you out, so what do you say?”
His gaze doesn’t leave yours for a second as he awaits your answer, and your heart skips a beat when you look up to see the earnestness in his eyes and the hesitant smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “Breakfast sounds wonderful,” you whisper, and the smile that blossoms on your companion’s face is nothing short of radiant.
“Good,” he says. “Great. Breakfast tomorrow, then. Now, can I kiss you?”
You’re already pushing up to your tiptoes, your fingers fisting in the soft hair at his nape. “God, yes.”
///
“Hey, you made it!”
You beam. “Hi.”
You and Hoseok are about to commence your first date, having just sat down at a cozy little café for breakfast. Hoseok has pulled your chair out in true gentlemanly fashion, and you can’t help but smile over your menu at the few lingering snowflakes that have yet to melt into his dark hair.
“So, here we are,” you remark. “Our fourth meeting.”
Hoseok’s lips stretch into his signature grin, breathtakingly bright and infectious. “And hopefully many more.”
You grin at him. “Yeah? Too bad this is breakfast, because I’d drink to that.”
He leans forward, his grin widening. “Next time,” he says as his hand finds its way around yours, his fingers slotting comfortably into the spaces between your own. “We can do dinner, maybe. Or I can cook for you. But for now, I’m just happy that we’re finally doing this.”
You give his hand a soft squeeze. “Me too.”
“Just promise me one thing?”
The sudden seriousness of his tone has your brow furrowing in concern. “Sure, of course,” you reassure. “What is it?”
He winces. “Please don’t tell my mom about all the dick pics.”

peter whispering in readers ear and realizing it makes her 💦 bc of his spidey senses and then using that to his advantage for like a whole day till reader is totally wrapped around his finger/willing to do anything to do anything bc she wants peter sooo bad and then some dom!peter action🤩🤩
both reader and peter are 18+ in here !!
this is lowkey filthy btw––and dedicated to @peterspideysstuff because she fueled my peter needs yesterday
it all started before first period when you were getting your things from your locker. peter snuck up behind you and slid his hands around your waist. you could feel his body heat as he pressed up behind you innocently, leaning his head over your shoulder to press a kiss on your cheek and greet you good morning.
“hi princess.” you jumped slightly and straightened up, not because you were scared, but because of how silky his voice sounded in the morning. and fuck––that nickname. it’s like he was doing it on purpose. but no, he was just being your sweet, caring boyfriend.
“h––hi pete.” you sighed, leaning into his embrace and he swayed side to side with you a couple times, his arms enveloping you tightly.
“y’look so pretty today baby.”
then in chemistry second period when peter leaned over to ask you if you were still coming over to his place after school. he set a hand on your thigh to get your attention, and the way his soft fingertips dug into your skin sent tingles all through your body. you were too stunned to even react properly. your legs immediately shut, trapping his hand between them and you heard him laugh quietly before whispering in your ear, his soft breath cascading down the side of your neck. he slid his hand down further and gripped your thigh tighter.
“you still coming over later? may won’t be home.”
you turned to look at him, but instead of being met with a smirk, you saw a soft smile on his face––huh, maybe he really didn’t know what he was doing to you.
“uh yeah, yeah of course,” you managed a smile and peter’s stretched out even more.
“great!” he turned back to his work and after a few moments you felt his breath hit your ear again and you gasped. “you gonna give me my hand back any time soon, darling?”
your brows furrowed in confusion but a quick squeeze of your thigh reminded you that his hand was still trapped between your legs. “o––oh!” you opened your legs and he slid his hand off slowly, keeping contact with your skin until the last point possible. “sorry,” you mumbled, looking back at your work.
peter scanned your body, your composure, you were tense, your thighs shut tightly together––he could also smell you thanks to his heightened senses. there was no doubt about it––you were more than turned on. he kissed your cheek, enjoying the way your eyes widened slightly, “you’re so cute.”
you shrunk down in your seat and hid your face in your palm, resting your elbow on the table to try and calm down and focus on your work and peter couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle.
luckily for him, but unluckily for you, you both had all your classes together today, which meant peter was using this to his advantage––and yours too eventually.
he spent every moment he could, leaving lingering hands on you when no one was looking, kissing your cheek, whispering in your ear––things he very well could have said out loud at full volume just to rile you up. he could tell you were getting wetter and needier, and more submissive.
when lunch came around, you were stuck to him like glue, trays side by side on the lunch table. your legs were intertwined with his, one leg crossed over his thigh as you ran the toe of your shoe up and down his calf. he had to straighten up and clear his throat a few times to calm himself down.
everyone couldn’t help but notice how affectionate you were being––and they couldn’t not. the most pda you and peter would ever engage in was him kissing your knuckles, or kissing each others cheeks. this was new territory.
no one was going to say anything of course, it was sort of an unspoken agreement. but of course flash had to break said agreement.
“you might as well sit in his lap, you know.” he was joking, of course. but it still took you by surprise.
you looked up at flash with slightly wide eyes then up at peter. you were met with a cheeky smirk and him patting his thigh invitingly.
you shrugged and maneuvered your way into his lap, lounging your legs sideways as you sat on his thigh and hid your face in his neck, leaving small kisses on his skin. peter rubbed your back gently and you practically purred, curling further into him. he made sure to glare at flash, daring him to say something else––he backed off immediately.
peter left a small kiss on your cheek but before he pulled away he whispered “such a cute little thing you are.” you couldn’t help but whimper into his neck and you felt him smile as he went back to his conversation with ned.
by the end of the day you were looking up at peter like a puppy, awaiting instructions, a small pout on your face.
after class peter met you at your locker, “you ready to go babe?”
you turned around immediately and wrapped your hands around his arm, “yup!” you were more than ecstatic to finally go home and peter found it adorable.
he kissed your forehead and walked out with you, “alright sweetheart, let’s go home.”
this all leads us to this very moment now. peter’s hand around your throat as he presses you into the door. that’s right, you hadn’t even made it fully into the apartment before breaking down and begging. “please peter––”
“all this cause i whispered some words into those pretty little ears of yours?” he brought hand up and you expected him to rest in on your cheek as he usually does, and you closed your eyes, ready to lean into his touch. but this time you felt his finger lightly trace around your ear from the top to the lobe and you shivered involuntarily, your eyes blowing open, making him smirk down at you.
you looked up at him, eyes wide and glassy from how needy you were, “please pete. need you.”
he laughed, but this wasn’t his usual sweet laugh––this one was more menacing, almost. “i know sweetheart,” he leaned in to whisper in you ear once again, “could smell you dripping in your panties all day.”
you gasped and dragged your gaze elsewhere but peter wasn’t having that. “no need to be shy, princess. we both know you’re just a needy little slut for me––”
you let out an involuntary moan, too turned on to be embarrassed anymore and he grabbed your waist and lifted you up, making you wrap your legs around him instinctively.
he walked you into the bedroom and kicked the door closed before throwing you on the bed. you bounced up from the force of his throw and looked up at him in shock, your mouth slightly dropped open.
he quickly shrugged off his shirt and threw it aside, and you regained your composure and did the same. when the two of you were completely naked, he crawled over to you on the bed so he was hovering over your. his lips grazed yours for a few seconds, teasing you, making you yearn for more. when your hands came up to hold his face, he grabbed them and pinned them above your head and you couldn’t stop the gasp that escaped you.
“so needy,” he whispered in your ear, trailing kisses down your neck and up the other side, “so obedient”, he captured your lips in a passionate kiss and pulled away to look you in the eyes, “so desperate for me, aren’t you?”
you looked up at him, doe eyed, nodding along after almost every word that came out of his mouth. he licked his lips as he looked down at you.
he grabbed both of your hands in one of his, still pinning them down and trailed his free one down your body, fingertips grazing your breast and your nipple before sliding down your stomach and stopping right before your center.
“know you’re wet since i could smell you all day, but god baby, now that there’s nothing in the way...” he bit your collarbone before meeting your eyes again, “you smell absolutely delicious.” your back arched into him and he bit his lip at the feeling of your hard nipples and soft breasts pressing against his skin. but he was quick to pin you down again with his free hand.
“gonna let me have my treat now?” now it was his turn to look at you with puppy dog eyes and the reality of it all was so ironic and so filthy. he was such a tease. he smirked, “i think i deserve a taste after being teased with it all day.” he leaned down and traced your jawline with his nose, nestling into your skin ever so softly, “wasn’t very nice of you––” he kissed your neck. “you were practically waving it around in my face. could smell you before i even saw you.”
you whined in response and he chuckled softly. he let go of your hands and made his way between your legs. his fingers were grazing your skin as he slid down the bed and the feeling was only making you more antsy.
“spread em wide for me babygirl, that’s it.” he put your legs over his shoulders and wrapped his arms around your thighs before winking and quite literally diving into his meal. though he was giving you what you wanted, what you needed––it felt like he had no mercy whatsoever. it just felt too good.
you let out a sigh of relief and your hands came down to pull at his curls as tears pooled in your eyes, “f––fuck peter!”
he groaned and only started going faster, shaking his head as he locked you in place, forcing you to endure the pleasure. he really was restraining himself all day, he wanted nothing more than to sit you down on the table and bury his face between your thighs during chemistry, or during lunch, really any time he saw you––which was all day.
you interrupted his filthy train of thought when your thighs tightened around his head. “m’gonna cum baby––” it was more of a warning than a statement. peter hadn’t explicitly given you permission to cum, so his response? sitting up on his knees and practically folding you in half to devour you even more, intertwining his fingers on top of your waist to properly lock you into place.
you screamed, hands gripping for your dear life at his hair, his arms, anywhere you could reach. your whole body felt like it was vibrating––and it took you a second to realize it was because it actually was. your legs were shaking and you could feel peter grinning between your thighs, tongue still working its way between your folds, quickly gliding over your clit.
“shit oh my god––” your whole body was as tense as a bowstring, your eyes shut in ecstasy and peter did not stop until you had cum a second time in a row.
he set your legs down and kissed your thigh before getting into place, “i’d clean you up,” he looked up from your pussy, “but i’m just about to make another mess down there, so there’s really no point.”
before you could even respond, he slid into you, bottoming out immediately. “oh fuck!––”
he smiled and kissed your forehead, “tell me when i can move, princess.”
you wrapped your hands around his neck and gave him a quick peck before looking up at him. “you can fuck me hard, pete. want you to take me however you want.”
he cursed quietly to himself before sitting up on his knees once more, grabbing your waist and thrusting into you hard. “god you feel so good.” soon, his hips were plowing into yours, his fingertips digging into your skin, bound to leave leave bruises. “such a good girl aren’t you, my good girl––”
his skin was slapping against yours, your body was jolting with every hit, “so tight, princess. so wet for me––”
your hands reached down and grabbed his as best you could while he was holding you, “you gonna cum baby?”
he nodded, grunting loudly, “fuck yeah i’m gonna cum inside this wet pussy. you gonna cum with me? can feel you clenching around me, shit––”
you nodded your head, your moans getting higher in pitch and when you clenched around him one last time, he let out a loud groan, his pace faltering and getting more sloppy as he released inside of you.
the both of you let out content sighs, your bodies deflating like balloons as you lied down facing each other, still connected to one another. peter thrusted into you slowly a few more times, enjoying the small whines you let out.
he pulled out of you and wrapped his arms around you, sighing, “i gotta whisper to you more often,” one of his hands slipped down to play with your wetness again as if to emphasize his point, “damn––”

long vent post about my shitty workplace environment, under a readmore because its a lot of frustration and its very very long
jesus christ ok i need to talk about this bc not even a minute into my shift, the shitty shift lead on at the time jumps me and tells me to train this brand new coworker for the last thirty minutes of his shift. immediately after that she leans in and mutters to me about how hes slow and both she and the manager fucking hate him. he is two feet away within earshot at the front register. i go ok no problem! (fakest smile ive ever given from under my mask) and jump right into training
turns out HE HASNT BEEN ON BAR FOR HIS ENTIRE FIRST WEEK OUT OF TRAINING. HE HASNT HAD ANY CHANCES TO PRACTICE MAKING DRINKS. hes slow BECAUSE HE ISNT BEING GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN. for so many reasons. they schedule him during peak customer hours so they force him to rush when he doesnt even have the basics down yet. they expect him to know everything straight out of two-week’s training but a FUNDAMENTAL EXPECTATION of the job is that you LEARN AS YOU WORK and you wont even have everything down pat until AT LEAST three months into the job. even then, there will still be things you dont fucking know. he doesnt even have many shifts scheduled per week so not only is he not put on bar, but also hes just not at the fucking store often per week so of course he doesnt learn as fast. not only that but i found out that shitty shift lead AND the literally STORE MANAGER both CONSTANTLY SHITTALK HIM EVEN WHEN HE IS ON SHIFT WITH HIM.
is this how we’re fucking treating new coworkers now?? how is he supposed to learn and acclimate to the store?? yes this is a fast paced workplace, yes he needs to pick things up quick but hes not going to know the recipes if hes constantly rushed, if he has no support and no one to ask questions, if hes put on food warming, if hes CONSTANTLY FUCKING BULLIED WHILE WORKING BY THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO ENCOURAGE HIM
i dont even fucking know what to say. he works again tomorrow with the same white bitches bullying him. i can only hope the brief training we did today gave him a little hit of confidence because he was literally spectacular and he was constantly looking to help with new drinks when he seriously shouldve been focused on learning. its not his fault at all, i dont blame him for trying to optimize for speed and time when hes been made fun of for being slow. im so pissed at management on his behalf. he stayed ten minutes after his shift ended to help me and i had to tell him to go home because he didnt want to leave me hanging (he shouldnt have to worry about me! or the store! especially when hes still in the learning period!). i was the only one he said goodbye to when he left. i taught him how to cancel shots because apparently his shitty trainer hadnt taught him to do that.
after he left, a coworker told me that today was the first time they had EVER heard his voice because HE DOESNT ASK ANYONE QUESTIONS. what kind of trainer / shift lead scares newbies so much, they dont ask questions?! what kind of work environment makes it so theyre scared to ask questions?! youre supposed to ask questions so fucking much in the beginning! youre supposed to be so annoying in your learning period! youre supposed to fuck up constantly! its been two hours since my shift ended and im still so fucking hung up on how horribly hes been treated. this isnt even the first trainee to face these same issues. another partner trained by the same shitty trainer WAS ALSO set up for failure in the same way.
this is fucking ridiculous! i need to think about what to do about this because we’re going to scare away all our fucking newbies at this rate! holy literal actual fucking shit!

Hey bestyyyyyy, so remember that sagau moments thing everyone did, and their submissions of self aware moments, well 😭😭😭😭
it’s been more than a month now since i last played genshin, which was around december 16, and due to that couldn’t do my weekly(like once a week-whole day playing) genshin playing, and why i couldn’t get my itto guarantee💀💀💀 even though i am guarantEED, but i guess my primos weren’t enough for this man huh😔, he was the first character i ever wanted to willingly roll on too, after all those months(i started playing by the start of the first lantern rite) i just fell in love with the man for what they were, his dorkiness, that bday song🤬🤬🤬😭😭😭😭 man he has high standards, even after i gushed on his abs in the trial and literally admired that btch right infront of my camera, even took me quite a while to exit the trial too dmskdkdkdkdkdkdk
🥰 anywayyy yeahh after that my country was struck with a super thypoon, thypoon rai internationally, thypoon odette nationally, and there was no electricity for 3 weeks, but on two of those days only, we got lent a generator and connected our wifi to it, which worked, and i was able to do my daily claim in hoyolab so i finally got my daily mail starting, or so i thought— because and when our part got fixed, that’s when the wifi line got cut or smthg, because ours didn’t work no more😔😔, so i was pretty depressed ig, even started to live in my delu- i mean fantasies quite deeply, and nowadays writing a whole business enterprise in teyvat in my head along with calculating time conversions in game and irl, because it is necessary for the worldbuilding in my head, well due to that my head kinda hurted bahaahaha, i used my wasted potential finally lol
and one of my friends, which lives in the neighborhood, plays genshin, and we actually formed a newbond over that shared interests and more over the ’no-electricity-period’ accepted my request for her to login my account and to get those stuff waiting my mail(mind you i fought for my little sister to tell her friend that because she could play genshin in mobile— my sister initially said ‘no’ because her stupid reasoning was ‘bc i dun wanna’ honestly she was being such a bitch then, thank goodness i wokeup today in good spirits because she asked my account’s password🥰) and now we are arriving at the point
which is well, uhm, how would my beloved characters in game waiting for all that time like, react or sum, because when i didn’t get itto r8 away i fr showed my disappointment quite clearly, even as far as too change my signature to ‘sad itto wanter’ or smthg like that, and even loudly said ‘if i don’t get itto i’m not gonna play anymore’ out of spite, honestly i was just trying out reverse psychology just to see if he was gonna come home😭😭😭 and during them dark days after that, i kinda feel really bad because i’ve had my share of more frequent ‘prolly-not-self-aware-moments-but-im-gonna-say-it-is-bc-they-were-too-weird-not-to-be-one’ moments, and after the electricity came back, we just borrowed the ones next door’s wifi(we share a wall, and their wifi wouldn’t reach the computer😭) and i’ve been like having my musical moments each night and i cried on one of em bc i miss playing, and wow genshin yt channel really added more salt to the wound by posting that lantern rite cutscene for 2.4, which i just viewed an hour it was uploaded, and i saw everyone and man, i just felt quite melancholicj jcjdjdjej.
And i just started to try out bennett too right before i logged off for that day in watatsumi doing that stupid spectre commission again, along with his new team, with xingqiu, kaeya and diluc— bennett’s spot was initially for itto but i put him there out of spite, and yes diluc is the first 5 star i got from gacha :D, i been wanting that man ever since i saw that cutscene in the wolf temple dkeekkkd. *sigh* i literally left them right aftera week i got diluc, then i got sara, bennett & xiangling, and since i always never am screaming out of happiness when i do get a character, it was really a shock, because man i feel like an orphanage hahaha, but i try my best to love all that i have, even if i seem quite cold bc i am the literal personification of diluc when i play the game bc i didn’t wanna look weird fangirling ahahahaha
so how would they deal with this, my 19 children, (btw i use lumine) my lovely characters: the amazing free 6 characters(w aloy, and i literally always played w my starter lol, just started using kaeya again too bc i kinda neglected him in favor of the girls, and he was kinda useless in dragonspine for the *real*best boi’s team, f u itto, u lost ur best boi status— i’m dreading his hangout too & m8 fall inlove again and i havent even completed the inazuma archon quest lol), diona(i was abt to do finally do her hangout the next time i played but odette happened), yanfei(i think she in my teapot— no w8 i benched her for now bc i got an influx of characters), xingqiu(literally when i got him he became the new lumine, he’s in the new team maksks man i rlly do favor him huh, i mean it’s a given bc i fell in love with him too), rosaria(best dps of mine, was my fave too bc i love that polearm gameplay ever since i tried out xiangling lol, still never did spirals abyss ahaha) FishcL(she gets to live in my teapot now with my library), beidou(i love her man, she was literally a suprise- like my existence and man i love her counter ability dmdmdk), then sucrose, noelle & ningguang(placed them in teapot bc they deserve their own spaces, and i need noelle to take a fricken break, and i’m planning her to be my budget itto now too and neglected her far too long), diluc(gave him the fish, man he is now the new xingqiu too, but xingqiu supremacy still tho), then bennett and xiangling(xiangling fr couldn’t wait for me to get to the spiral abyss and just came home instead), initally i was gonna farm good artefacts for all of them but 3 children got left on the doorstep, and now they’re all sharing artefacts, but i’m still gonna farm at the same time tho-
too bad they’re alone now, i wonder how they reacted when i actually unintentionally followed through my statement of not playing bc of itto, and the hope they might have had when the mail finally had smthg in it then not again, and then again for an everyday to an entire month now, but not playing?? which they might know i wouldn’t do bc i wouldn’t willingly miss an event especially a free ningguang skin?! And a potential yunjin?! Shenhe too man 😭 and enkanomiya— pls- I’m practically dyingggg, this is fr the second time i ever missed an event now wth, first every lantern rite 🥲, now windtrace☹️ Dmckjjkdjcdckjd
So like have fun brainrotting over this, and to anyone who reads this cry w me, and help me add more havria to the wound bc this lantern rite is a funeral now huhuhuhu and stay safe uwu also have u seen encanto?
...what was the ask about again?

“Now, Kiss!”
Based on this hc I made earlier :)
3474 words
Fandom: The Lunar Chronicles
Pairing: Kai x Cinder
Fluff
Description:
Kai knew that the annoyance was part of having a sibling, but he hated it all the same. Nainsi would tease him about everything and when she figured out his crush on Cinder Linh, it only got worse. When Cinder calls Kai on the day that Nainsi brings some friends, she suspects that something might be cooking in the pot. Is she right, or are they friends for another agonizing day?
(Also I decided to name her Nainsi bc I’m too tired to brainstorm anything else I like it)
“WAKE UP KAI!” was the first thing Kai heard after being unfortunately interrupted by a sweet dream involving a certain someone. He was awake now, with a 100-pound pillow being tossed onto his head. Groaning, he flipped to his other side, squeezing his eyes shut as if that would make the tiny monster go away.
“KAI WE’RE GONNA BE LATE!” Nainsi yelled. She threw another pillow at him and when he didn’t show any signs of stopping, she yanked the cover out. Thank the stars for sheets.
“Stars, what time is it?” Kai managed to ask. Knowing his family it was probably five in the morning.
“Seven-thirty, ” he groaned again. It was way too early to get out of bed. Plus, the school didn’t start until eight-thirty so they were very much not late. He tucked his head in the pillow and wished for his sister to magically vanish away into whatever drama she obsessed with now.
“KAI! GET OUT THE BED RIGHT NOW!” Kai turned his head to glare at her. She glared right back.
“You know Cinder gets up super early for whatever reason. That’s something you two can get along with, ” instead of rolling her eyes like she usually did when Kai talked about Cinder, Nainsi's lips formed into a coy smile.
He cursed.
She somehow smiled even further and cocked her head, “Got any plans with her tonight?”
He could feel his ears turn red, and he tried to kill her on the spot with his eyes. His little sister took the smart choice and sprinted out of his room with Kai on her heels.
She screamed as he followed her down the stairs into the kitchen, seeking refuge next to their father’s chair. Kai could tell he was annoyed by the posture he was in and the way he took another sip of his coffee.
Nainsi shot Kai a smug smile that he wished to wipe off her face, “are you gonna wear pajamas to school, Kaito?”
“I’m going to kill you.”
“Ah, yes, but then you’ll spend the rest of your life in jail and will never see your precious Cinder again.”
He glared at her once more and left to go change. When he came back, the aroma of fried eggs was so strong that it filled the whole house.
His father was humming a tune while seasoning the eggs with pepper, now in a less annoyed mood. There were two plates on the kitchen counter already equipped with breakfast. Nainsi rebelliously made cereal instead of eating eggs. Kai, on the other hand, was grateful for the free breakfast.
He sat grabbed a ate and sat at the barstool, preparing to dig into his meal. Dad wanted to make small talk instead, “Good morning, son, and you're welcome for the delicious breakfast that I so graciously made for my marvelous kids.”
“Good morning, father, and us marvelous kids are so grateful for this delicious meal that makes caught us by surprise. But unfortunately, one of your children prefers Lucky Charms to you’re amazing breakfast, ” Kai responded after swallowing his first bite of eggs.
Nainsi looked up from her cereal, “that’s because I don’t like eggs, they’re disgusting.”
“You don’t like anything, ” she stuck her tongue out. Kai picked up his plate and placed it in the sink. Unsurprisingly, he was still hungry, so he went to see what was in the fridge.
“Kai, why don’t you ever want up early?” his father asked.
“Um, because-”
“Because he’s up all night thinking about making out with Cinder in the back of her BMW, ” the little monster interrupted before he could continue. He grabbed a tomato and slammed the fridge shut.
He then threw the tomato at her, “two strikes, Nainsi.”
She dodged the tomato and looked back at Kai with big round eyes.
“Hey, it's too early to fight with your sister just yet, ” interjected his father, “also, if you couldn’t tell, your mother is working double shifts at the hospital today so she wouldn’t be coming back tonight and I have a business trip. I know you have some friends coming over today, Nainsi, so behave better than usual. Both of you.”
“What friends are coming over, Nainsi?” Kai mused, an idea forming in his head.
“Just Geovanna and Emily. Possibly Ben but he hasn’t confirmed yet,” she answered, “why?”
“Just wondering. Anyways, we gotta go now,” Kai pulled on his sweatshirt from the laundry and headed towards the front, “bye dad.”
He nodded at Kai, currently preoccupied with his second mug of coffee while Nainsi rushed to follow Kai.
It was freezing out, as it usually was during winter in Maryland, but today was unusually cold. He turned on the car while Nainsi hopped in the passenger seat.
“Are we gonna go or what?” she barked.
“In a minute. Let me close my eyes for a bit.”
“You always do that, you lazy bum.”
“Your insults are getting drier and drier Nainsi.”
“Just go, ” this time she hit his forearm with her binder from nowhere. Repeatedly.
“Okay, stop hitting me. Ow.”
They drove off towards the school. Although Nainsi lived to tease Kai, they got along pretty well. They talked about this new show and had similar opinions on it during the short car ride. Once they were at Nainsi’s school and she was gone, then he could start playing the radio.
He bid his goodbye’s and see you later’s and now was off to his school.
᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽᯽
Kai was unsurprisingly drained during the last period of the day. He fiddled with the corner of his notes to keep himself awake for at least ten more minutes. When he felt himself starting to doze off, he began to replay the day so far.
When he got to school, Cinder was marked absent which made his day worse. He always looked forward to hearing her sarcastic remarks or her smiling at one of his witty jokes.
Anyways, she was gone and he was sad, but Cress wasn’t. She happily explained to Kai that she and Thorne were going on a date Sunday. He was happy for her, truly, but all he could think about was how he can unsuccessfully tell his feeling to Cinder.
Not telling her felt like he was forgetting something important every day, except he was not forgetting. He knew exactly what he was doing and it killed him, but he also didn’t want to ruin the good that they have now. Then Kai would think about how it would be better and his thought would circle around and around.
After meeting up with Cress, they endured through the first two periods they shared, Scarlet and Thorne joining during the second. Although he had plenty of friends to talk to and enjoy, he couldn't help missing Cinder.
She's gone for one day and you feel like this? he thought, get a break. The little voice inside Kai's head was right.
Then the last bell rang, startling him. He stood up and began to pack his things. Then he fast-walked out and left.
"Kai!" he heard someone call.
Iko and Cress gestured at Kai to come to their lockers. He obliged.
"Look, Winter's birthday is in a couple of weeks, during the break. We want to throw a party because it's her sweet sixteen! We already have all the decorations ready, I know it's early, but long story short, can we throw it at your place?" his blue-haired friend asked as innocently as possible. Although she had to change her posture, tone, and expression to look innocent, Cress had that personality as her default.
"Please, Kai?” Cress pleaded and she knew what she was doing. It was always impossible to say no to her without feeling guilty. Or maybe it was just Kai who hated saying no.
“Of course! My parents are going to their parents during that week, so I’ll just ask to stay behind.”
“Yay! Thank you so much!” Iko hugged him tightly, “also not a word to Winger. It’s going to be a surprise.”
“Sounds nice.”
“Yep. I got to go to my job interview, remember what I was telling you about. Ah, the chance to work a boutique, what a dream,” and with that, his friend walked away.
“Hey Cress, did you hear anything about Cinder, ” he pressed.
She nodded, “Adri was mad at her again so she’s stuck at the garage, ” the blonde began to nibble in her fingernails. Noticing the bad habit, she brought he hand down.
“Oh, ” he hated Cinder’s stepmother, he truly did. And it killed him he couldn’t do anything about it.
They walked silently down the hall. Girls batted their lashes and some greeted him but he ignored it as usual.
“Do you think Adri would let Cinder free tonight?” he asked, now in the parking lot of the school.
“If you’re the one taking her anywhere then, of course, Adri would.”
Cress, Cinder, and Winter all skipped one grade. Cinder and Winter skilled first, and Cress skipped seventh. Cress was the smartest of them all, granted, and they don’t have a driver's license. So Cress got a ride with her older brother Jacin, and so did Winter (Jacin’s girlfriend). Cinder usually rode with Thorne, but on the good days, she rides with Kai.
They reached Kai’s car which was near Jacin’s car and being the super over-protective brother he was, he glared Kai down. Kai found this confusing because his feelings for Cinder were quite obvious, but then he saw Thorne parked next to Kai.
Thorne was currently ‘interested’ in Cress which made her a flustered mess.
Cress walked quickly to Jacin’s car and hopped in the back. Kai called goodbye and started his car. Then there was a rap on his window.
“What?” he asked Thorne, “I got to pick up my sister.”
“What flowers does Cress like?” he lifted an eyebrow at his friend, “not like that,” what Thorne did not know was that Cress told Kai everything about their date. Perhaps Thorne wants to keep it secret until then.
“Uh-huh.”
“Just answer the question!”
He shifted in his seat, “I dunno. Ask Jacin.”
“Great advice,” Thorne deadpanned.
“Get her roses. Those are super romantic and she’s all about the romantic gestures.”
“Nah, too cheesy. Pretend it's Cinder, what would she like?”
“Cinder doesn’t like flowers. Wrenches, however, are much appreciated.”
“I think I’ll just get roses.”
“Yeah, now move, my sister is waiting for me, ” Kai rolled up the windows and drove out.
Time passed very quickly and the next thing he knew, Nainsi was climbing in the passenger seat with her three friends in the back seat.
“I thought it was only two people, ” he whispered harshly.
She shrugged, “Ben decided to come.”
“What are you gonna feed them.”
“Pizza.”
“Who’s money?”
“Yours,” he shoved Nainsi but she shoved back.
“Fine but you owe me.”
“We’ll see, ” she turned in the seat to talk with her friends.

Once everyone was settled inside and pizza was ordered he began to brainstorm ways Kai could punish Nainsi for this morning.
Then, like a light bulb, a perfect idea formed into his head. He walked into the laundry room where a basket filled with his clothes was waiting for him.
He pulled off his shirt, grabbed the basket, and headed into the living room. His sister was watching a realistic drama with her friends, although Kai wasn’t sure the drama wasn’t ‘realistic’ at all.
This plan happened before on accident with the same friends and they just stared at him while Nainsi shooed him out. Little did he know that her friends would just start talking about him and his looks. When Nainsi told him this, he groaned and whined about how he got enough of this from school. So when Nainsi had people over, Kai would camp in his room to avoid the awkwardness.
Now, he knows how her friends would react. And how she would react.
But before he could do anything, the phone in his pocket vibrated, making him turn a one-eighty back into the laundry.
It was actually Cinder calling and he answered quickly, “hello?”
“Uh, Kai?”
“Yes?”
“Can you do me a favor? Please?” it sounded like she was outside where it was currently raining.
“Yes, of course, what do you need?”
“I need a ride. I’m stuck here in the rain, by myself. Also, this is going to sound weird but, can I also stay with you for an hour and a half?” she defeated like she lost an argument.
“I can pick you up and you can stay with me. Nainsi has some friends over but it should be fine, Kai wondered if he sounded too cheery.
“Ok, thanks. I’m at the gas station outside your neighborhood, by the way.”
“Great, see you in a few minutes. Bye.”
“Bye, ” she hung up.
Kai hurried to put on a shirt and grab two rain jackets from the close, just in case Cinder needed one. Then he walked into the living room and out the front door, only to come back in. He forgot to tell Nainsi where he was going.
“Hey Nainsi, I got to pick up someone. I’ll be back soon though, ” she nodded, mouth full of pizza crust, “uh, don’t open the door to strangers. Bye.”
This time he didn’t go back inside after he left. He drove out of the neighborhood, slowly because it was pouring buckets and he could barely see three feet in front of him. After an eternity, Kai finally reached the gas station and parked under the large roof.
He didn’t even see Cinder come in, only heard her, sacring him witless. She smiled apologetically while tossing a white plastic bag onto her lap. It was full of snacks.
“Thanks for coming to get me, I owe you one now, ” she said, handing him one of the bags of chips.
“Of course, Cinder, I would do anything for you, ” the corner of her lip curved upwards as Kai’s cheeks heated, “that came out wrong. I meant that you’re my friend and such. Like the good moral movies where like the one friend reminds the other what friendship is truly about?”
Cinder snorted, “Like My Little Pony?”
“Isn’t that a TV show?”
“Same thing.”
“Is not.”
“Whatever, I know what you meant. Peony had made me watch enough TV shows and movies to last a lifetime.”
“Okay then, ” the rain seemed to finally thin during their conversation making it much more comfortable conditions for Kai to drive in.
Cinder had a habit of talking with her mouth full and the ‘good manners kid’ inside of him cringed. He hoped he hid it well.
Anyways Cinder explained why she was soaking wet at a gas station abandoned with snacks. She was bored and hungry and wanted something to do. So she walked to the gas station, alone, for snacks and a good walk.
Kai raised an eyebrow at that, “you live far away from me, how and why did you walk miles just for a bag of junk food?”
“People can do miraculous things when they are bored, Kai.”
“Yes, and penguins can fly if they really set their minds to it.”
“They are a bird so, hey, nothing’s impossible.”
“Who drove you?”
Cinder shoved a chip in her mouth, “Pearl,” she admitted reluctantly.
“What?”
“I skipped lunch and she knew I was hungry so she drove me here and left me while I was getting snacks. She also called me and said that it was a prank she couldn’t resist.”
“Oh, ” Kai said as they were pulling in his driveway. It was drizzling now so there was no need for the rain jackets.
“I’m also supposed to be at the garage until later so that's why I have to stay that long. If I come back early, Adri would get mad, and I don’t feel like getting yelled at today.”
“Ok,” he said as he walked out of the car.
He opened the door for Cinder and followed her inside. Nainsi and her friends did not move from before he left, but they switched shows. His little sister locked eyes with Cinder, immediately getting up.
“Hey Cinder. I did not know you two were hanging out today?” She said conspiratorially.
Cinder nodded, “yeah it was kind of sudden. Also, Peony is not with me, sorry.”
“That’s okay. I’m going back to my friends now. So you guys can ‘hang out’” Nainsi emphasized the last part then ran off to her friends.
“So, um, what do you want to do for an hour and a half?” he asked.
Cinder turned to him, “I don’t know, what do you want to do.”
“I don’t know.”
“Let’s just go to your room then.”
“Good idea, ” Cinder has been to his house enough to know the layout. He followed her to his room where she fell on the bed.
“Working under cars all day isn't good for the back you know, ” she explained, muffled by a pillow.
“I would expect so because your posture is not up to standards.”
She snorted, “I guess that’s true, ” Cinder sat up and leaned on the headboards, “sorry for taking up your space. And for calling you. Stars, this was a bad idea, you already have people here. I’m like an intruder-”
“Why are you apologizing so much? I don’t care if you light my room on fire, ” Kai accused. It was true, ever since he met her, she would apologize for every single tiny thing, as if every single wrong thing she did was unacceptable. He moved towards her to place a hand on hers, “it’s okay, Cinder. And calling me was a good idea because you saved me from the little demons.”
Cinder let out a genuine laugh that ended with a genuine smile. A smile that never ceased to make his heart twitch. He bashfully realized that he was still holding her hand.
Kai let go but she only grabbed his hand back. He watched her intertwine their fingers, trying to ignore the strong pounding of his heart. He dared to look up and realized that Cinder was staring at him.
He looked into her chocolate eyes that seemed to shine with stars. He wanted to dive into that sea of brown and lie there for eternity. As long she was there.
“Now kiss!” cried a shrill voice. Kai jumped away from Cinder, noticing that she copied his actions.
“Aw, come on just kiss already, the tension was so thick, ” said... Peony?
Cinder’s eyes widened, “Peony, what- how did- why are you here?”
“Well first, I was invited to the sleepover but I had volleyball practice so I had to come late. I just got here. And second, I saw Nainsi sneaking up here so I followed, and oh my stars, we ruined the money, didn’t we?” Peony looked at Nainsi.
“We did. Sorry guys, we’ll go now.”
“Yes, now you can kiss in peace, ” the girls left, leaving Kai very flustered. He glanced at Cinder and saw that her cheeks were also tinted pink.
“So, do you want something to eat, ” he asked finally. He could not bear the silence anymore.
“Yes, ” she nodded, although they already are in the car.
They got up to leave but before he could open the door, Cinder grabbed his wrist and pulls him down. The next thing he knew they were kissing. It was quick and soft and amazing. It felt like everything suddenly clicked and the world was righted. Like the stars finally aligned.
She pulled away and Kai could feel the heat in his ears. His heart was beating so loud that he was sure Cinder could hear it as well.
“Let’s go get some food, ” she breathed and opened the door. She was still holding his wrist, he realized. He intertwined their hands like before, but this time it felt more meaningful. It was like their hands now signified that they were more than friends. That they loved each other, even if they hadn't admitted it yet. But he could feel it and was sure that she could too.
They entered the kitchen and Cinder began to talk about food options but all he could think about was the kiss. He wanted to kiss her again. And to hold her.
Someone cleared their throat behind them, making them turn around. Nainsi, Peony, Emily, Geovanna, and Ben all stood with knowing faces. Nainsi smirked, “finally.”
Peony looked like she was about to explode with happiness, “I already told Iko. She’s ecstatic.”
Neither Kai nor Cinder said anything. Nainsi probably knew because of the looks on their red faces and told Peony. Then Peony told Iko and Iko probably told everyone in their friend group.
So now everyone knows.
“Just to be sure, you guys did kiss, right?” asked Emily.
Slowly, Cinder nodded. Kai opted to stare at his feet. Peony whooped, Nainsi squealed, Cinder blushed, and Kai groaned.
“Ok now we will leave you alone, for real, ” Nainsi promised, dragging her friends away.
“Why are there so many people here?” Kai murmured then turned to Cinder. She leaned on his shoulder. They were still holding each other's hand, “I really want to kiss you again, by the way.”
“Me too.”
“Okay then, ” he cupped her cheek with his free hand and kissed her. Cinder squeezed his hand affectionately. He once again felt like everything was where it was supposed to be, where he was supposed to be, and that was with Cinder.
