thinking abt that time i went to new york by myself when i was 17 and i was naturally panicking the whole flight, and a guy next to me helped me fill out the files you gotta do when entering the us bc i didn't fully get them and my english wasn't that great yet (mind you, he didn't know hebrew and i think his english wasn't 100% either, so we also communicated in mostly broken english), and then since it's a long flight at some point we both fell asleep and i woke up with his head on my shoulder and me leaning on him. and that was so sweet. little moment of humanity there. hope he's doing okay wherever he is

#reminds me of the story where my mom befriended a woman from. i wanna say croatia? entirely with motions and sounds #bc neither of them knew english beyond very basic words but they sat on a train together iirc #i think she has a similar story with a woman from iran which imo is even sweeter given *gestures at politics between our countries*#she can befriend anyone anywhere fr she's got a talent for it 😭 i'm more of a scaredy cat when it comes to strangers tho #(i used to befriend ppl super easily and fast in cons and such tho so maybe some of her talent did pass over to me hehe)#anyway. sorry for getting emotional on main it will happen again
