People disrespecting Allen, how dare they ignore the Classic
NO BUT YEAH!!! THE DISRESPECT!!!! After everything he's been through!!!
though god it does really sting in a way that despite having been one of the most popular manga at the time of its release, dgm truly just disappeared from anyone's vague knowledge of manga.
Like when i go to con in the era there's always a store that sells cosplay and it still sells exorcist's outfits everytime i go there, yet you'd ask anyone and no one would know any of those chara, it hurts.
And i think the fact the anime adaptations can be pretty meh compared to the manga just had done such a disservice to the legacy of this manga it's so sad.
Meanwhile, like, seeing those polls always include jjk for instance always make me pouty because like, jjk is a fine story, but learning that the mangaka was a major dgm fan changed a lot of my perspective on it in the sense of "that's a plotpoint from dgm. that's also a plotpoint from dgm. That's ALSO A PLOTPOINT FROM DGM HELLO?". Which is fine!! it's an homage and the fact the mangaka literally namedropped Hoshino inside of his manga shows that, i'm all good with that, but then i see Allen being completely forgotten on polls where Gojo is on like excuse YOU who do you think gave the mangaka the idea of locking him away for years!!! have a little respect for our still ongoing suffering!!
It's really so sad. I wish people would know about dgm more. Like there's elements it didn't really age well on and stuff but Allen's journey is truly one of a kind and i'm so sad that people genuinely don't know about it.
The dude is losing his identity and his body to some guy and what do we do? we forget him???? make it easier for Nea??? this is evil!! evil i say. i'm going to cry.
*takes a deep breath* it's fine. in time of struggle i need to remember Allen's words of wisdom.
