thinking about teenage!sachiro reading about the things dad did to mom when they were still married, and he’s absolutely gutted. he didn’t know mom suffered that much from dad because no one had ever mentioned it to him. although he’d overheard aunt gen alluding to ‘an issue from the past’ many times before, sachi never thought that the situation was that serious.

and the only way he even found out was after curiously stumbling through a subreddit post.

Scandal in High Society: Satoru Gojou’s Shocking Infidelity!

[Discussion] Back in the day, there was a huge scandal involving Satoru Gojou, now Chairman of the Gojou Group, and his affair with his secretary. The story was everywhere, and it almost led to a major shake-up in the corporate world. Does anyone else remember this? How did his wife cope with all that mess?

CorporateInsider: I remember that! It was all over Twitter! LOL. His wife was a major heiress too, and there were rumors she was going to file for divorce but eventually decided against it.

GossipGuru123: If I recall correctly, his wife also wanted to get an a/bor/tion because she didn’t want to be tied with him anymore. Their poor child!

“sachi?”

as soon as he had heard his dad’s voice, sachiro shut his laptop down and wiped the faint tears on his eyes. “yes, dad?”

satoru appeared by his door, utterly oblivious to a past controversy his son had just come across. “you wanna play polo today?”

“no, thanks.” the teenage son looked away with a sigh before flopping down his bed. he was feeling all sulky, and he doesn’t really know how to deal with his father right now.

while that father in question, on the other hand, was surprised at the unusual mood of his son. is this his rebellious stage? he mused.

“everything okay, buddy?” satoru asked, now leaning on his side against the doorframe. “you said you wanted to play when i have free time.”

the younger gojou rolled his eyes and buried his face with a pillow. “well, i clearly don’t want to anymore,” he bit back in exasperation, “just get out, dad.”

satoru wasn’t sure if his son was going through a heartbreak or if he’s just generally moody today, but he could tell something was off and he was becoming increasingly worried. sachiro had never rejected their weekly father-son dates before, so there was certainly a reason behind that dismissive attitude.

and satoru recognized that very well, because his son got it from him.

“did i do something wrong?” asked satoru, “you can always tell dad.”

sachiro, after some contemplation, finally caved in by swinging the pillow out of his face to sit up and look at his current enemy. his storm blue eyes were of the same exact hues as his father’s. “why did you cheat on my mom?”

dear lord, satoru thought as his he held his breath in front of an angry son. the day has finally come.
