(mgv) a bellow is used by alphas for courtship and challenges both. the bigger the alpha, the more impressive the sound, both to potential mates and challengers alike. a small population of omegas can bellow (10%) as well though the purpose for them leans more defensively, like when territorial for their heats or aggressively rejecting an advance
