Grandmas watching Sherlock, that series really is a few interesting scenes interspersed with a lot of bullshit huh

I wanna take my time to talk abt this depressing episode.

-Let’s start with wanda’s home and experiments.

That shit hurt so much, so fucking much, they were watching TV, a sitcom, funny family comedy so they could learn english and get the fuck out there. Then the next thing she remembers is that her parents are dead and she is hiding under her bed with her brother and waiting for that bomb to explode. but that bomb never explode and we know why, she used a spell. But i’m pretty sure that Wanda did that thing with her hand bc she knew she had the Gene X in her, maybe her father told them.

And i’m deducing that wanda could only move things at that time. She did the same thing magneto does when she wants to move things with his hand. So probably she knew at that time but maybe somehow forgot cause she was still weak and hadn’t have a training until she went to the experiments. With the stones is when she got her powers amplified and she saw herself in the future as the scarlet witch.

she has the thingy in her head and probs the future costume that she is gonna be using. that scene for me was powerful enough to make jump in happiness.

Also, going back to her father entering the scene. He brings stolen things, we know they are stolen by the look the mom gave him, he was stealing to sell and to escape from the war and at the same time was giving his kids a class in English so they could go to America i guess, following Pietro’s story in X-Men, he immigrated from sokovia to America changing his name to “Peter” to “blend in”. So probably that’s what they were doing. But going back to the father stealing: He couldn’t just do that without powers or help, and at that time i’m pretty sure it was every person for themselves so he didn’t had much help from ppl, but he used his powers (maybe) so this could be a nod to magneto and maybe a hint that he is still alive?? i mean killing magneto is a hard job to do, maybe the soldiers found him and brought him to experiment on him?? just like the x-men magneto but with nazis (this are suppositions, don’t take anything seriously)

And now i’m just gonna take two seconds to talk about how well marvel was able to put the eastern european essence in the ep. That scene made me cry a lot by making me remember my home, the smell, the colors, the patterns, the cultural things we have in our houses, the kitchen and bed integrated room, all of that made me cry so much when i saw it. Marvel just reminded me how much i miss home and the fact that i won’t be able to go back again so this broke me and i’m sure that many eastern europeans that had to immigrate due to war persecutions/poverty/any other thing, they feel the same way when they see it. I’m just gonna say thank you for the very accurate representation of many eastern europeans houses, thank you for literally bringing me the smell of my house, its been many years.

-The Wanda and Vision conversation that had me laughing and crying at the same time.

Vision gave wanda the speech she needed at that time, the speech that told her that she will be okay, that sorrow is part of our life, sadness help us grow up, but first we need to learn to do so. That’s why when the dog died wanda stop the twins from growing up remembering Vision’s words, sadness is important in our life. we can’t grow up and ignore it, we need time or otherwise we will never learn.

Also let’s talk about the panic robot 😂 the awkward smile he gave to wanda lmao he was like “i wanna kiss you, but i’m super shy” 😂 I swear i don’t like romantic shit, but Wanda and Vision makes me wanna see more. they are perfect for each other. A witch and a robot, perfection.

-Wanda at sword and creating the hex.

If the home thing hurt me that much, this part destroyed me and took the remains of my broken heart after the first thing.

Wanda going to sword with the intention of giving vision a proper burial and finding out that they were ripping his boyfriend apart to make a weapon out of him, that broke me a lot. And the fact that Hayward had NO RESPECT for wanda’s grief makes me thing that he is either a Hydra agent or a Kree, one of those. I saw many Hydra agents trying to empathize and make it worse (Grant Ward) and Kree doesn’t even understand what empathy is lol. The fact that he just broke wanda thinking she was helping her it’s not okay. He said “I can’t let you take 3B of vibranium” so money it’s more important than a woman being in pain, i see you fucking bitch.

Then he proceeded to let wanda see him up close thinking, once again, that it would help, but in reality it didn’t help and then modification the video to make her look like the villain. Then she goes and touch him and says “I can’t feel you” when they always said to each other “I feel you”. shit.

The next thing that we see is wanda going to westview, but the town was not figuring and real, Jimmy said it in ep 4, so maybe it’s bc Vision erased it to be able to hide with wanda after all that happened? Wanda wanted to be hide because she was still afraid of the outside world and ppl looking at her bad for what she did in lagos. Was vision planing a retirement with her? cause that hurts bro.

He even wrote with a heart representing how much he loved her and this just makes me so mad and sad. please just bring him back and make wanda happy , she deserves it.

-Vision coming back

In the post-credits Vision comes back thanks to the drone that has the properties of the hex. I have so many theories about this part, but i wanna start with the future of the new vision.

Ppl are already going with the “wanda will have to kill vision again” and i’m saying that i don’t think so. Vision is a robot, robots can be reconfigured, unless you are ultron, then you have no good future lol, but i believe that vision can be reconfigured to the normal one, to one who was not a weapon but just a sintezoide trying to understand humans and practically evolving into one. And also he had the properties of the hex and the hex is a part of wanda, hence he was a part of wanda and i’m pretty sure Monica has it too that’s why after she goes out she has even more motivation to help her, not only bc she understands her pain but because maybe she felt it and saw it (remember that monica has a flashback with wanda crying and we see that flashback in this do that it’s when she arrived to westview, so monica probably saw that but she doesn’t quite understand what she saw yet, she only knows she has to help wanda).

So maybe Vision is reconfigured as a sword weapon, but i’m pretty sure you can easily change that so Wanda can still have the real vision back.

What i don’t quite comprehend is why is vision blue-ish? shouldn’t he be red? i mean should he get his real color? this assuming that he really came back from the dead, but if he didn’t i understand that he should have that color and not his alive form.

anyways, i have a theory about the hex, it’s gotta be a nexus or how you wanna call it, but it’s gotta be that or maybe a way to the nexus?? i mean she is a nexus being and the hex gives mutant genes and i’m sure it’s more than just genes that it gives. I’m pretty sure Agatha was able to bring pietro from x-men trough the hex and now i’m super sure that Hayward is trying to use that hex too. following my theory of him being a kree, i would say that bc the kree are very into the whole nexus thing and finding all sort of technology to use against humans he would pretty much would want the powers of the hex to travel and get all types of technology for himself. I mean he literally weaponized vision and i’m sure that it’s not only to fight against wanda.

prompt: SM Entertainment just debuted a new girl group, Noir, but with EXO’s busy schedule, Baekhyun didn’t even know they existed. One day, he runs into them at SM and immediately recognizes one of the members - Hong Eunbin, his high school crush! But Baekhyun was a bit of a pest back then, and she didn’t like him because of it. Now, Baekhyun wants to make a good impression.

“Would it be weird if I got Soo-man a Christmas present?” Chunhei asked, taking a strawberry from her fruit bowl.

Eunbin looked confusedly at the member who was sitting across the table from her. “Yes?” 

Chunhei spoke as she chewed. “That’s too bad.” 

Eunbin looked around the dorm for her other members who she hoped would save her from this conversation, but she saw no one.

“Where are Bomi and Chanmi?”

Chunhei tilted her head to the side. “Bomi is practicing her choreography for a cover and I believe Chanmi is in our room playing video games.” 

Eunbin excused herself and walked right into Chanmi & Chunhei’s shared bedroom. 

“Dang it Haechan, you were supposed to cover me!” Chanmi stared angrily at her monitor. 

Eunbin laughed quietly. “Am I interrupting?”

Chanmi’s head darted in her direction. “Ah, no. Haechan just got me KILLED!” She yelled directly into her mic, and Eunbin could faintly hear Haechan’s protests through Chanmi’s headset as she took it off.

“What’s up?”

“Chunhei inspired me to get out of here… I might go shopping, do you want to come?”

“Hmm… I already did my Christmas shopping.” Chanmi pouted. “Can you go by yourself?”

Eunbin sighed dramatically. “I’ll go by myself.”

Chanmi smiled widely as Eunbin closed the door and made her way to the front door. 

“Chunhei, I’m going out,” she said, grabbing her purse. Chunhei waved as Eunbin headed out the door. 

Eunbin walked down the sidewalk, pushing her hands tightly into her coat pockets. Although it was the afternoon and the sun was at its brightest, it was cold outside, and Eunbin’s exposed cheeks and nose reddened after seconds of exposure to the elements. She wasn’t too fond of the freezing temperature, but she had to admit that Seoul was beautiful with the neon city lights glistening on the scattered piles of snow. After about five minutes of wishing she had taken the bus, Eunbin decided to go inside a random store to warm up. The store she chose happened to be a high-end men’s clothing store.

“Oops,” Eunbin whispered, trying to hide herself so she could warm up before she left the place. The store itself looked expensive. There were some shirts and sweaters hung on evenly spaced racks, and a variety of belts and other accessories were displayed in a glass case at the front of the store. The back wall was lined with mannequins in particularly well put together outfits. Eunbin deduced that the farther back you went in the store, the more expensive the items were.

Eunbin was looking out the window admiring the snowy Seoul streets when a familiar voice called her name. 

“Baekhyun! Hi…” Eunbin’s already red cheeks somehow got redder when she confronted the brown eyes that were peeking at her under a hood.

“I didn’t know you shopped here!” Baekhyun joked. 

“I just came in to warm up,” Eunbin explained. “I didn’t realize it was a men’s store…”

“You should probably watch where you’re going more,” Baekhyun suggested.

Eunbin made a face. “It was cold outside! What was I supposed to do, get frostbite?”

Baekhyun smirked. “You’re kinda cute when you’re angry.”

Eunbin’s eyes widened. “What did you just say?”

“Ah, nothing,” Baekhyun smiled and turned to walk away. “I’ll see you around.”

Eunbin stood with a blank expression on her face as she watched Baekhyun walk toward the back of the store. “Did Baekhyun just call me cute?” Eunbin placed her hands on her cheeks to cool them down. Figuring that Baekhyun was teasing her just like he did in the past, Eunbin decided to ignore it. “This is my chance to be the bigger person and apologize for being rude,” she thought. 

Eunbin took a deep breath and walked over to Baekhyun, who was browsing through a rack of hoodies. She was standing directly behind him when she got cold feet. “What am I doing? He should be apologizing to ME,” Eunbin thought while staring at Baekhyun’s back. Before she could decide what she wanted to do, Baekhyun turned around, not realizing that Eunbin was there, let alone standing so close to him. 

“Ah, kkaebsong…” Baekhyun muttered, bringing his hand to his heart. “Someone might think you’re stalking me if you keep following me around like that.”

Eunbin frowned. “I didn’t mean to - whatever. I just wanted to apologize for what I said at the MAMAs.”

“In the middle of a store?” Baekhyun raised an eyebrow.

“Please don’t, I’m trying to be the bigger person here,” Eunbin said exasperatedly. “I shouldn’t have said what I said, and I hope you can forgive me.”

Baekhyun’s expression shifted from playful to sincere. “Only if you forgive me first.”

Eunbin’s jaw just about dropped to the floor. “What do you mean?” 

Baekhyun brought his hand up to his neck. “I was an ass to you when I was in high school. I’m the one who should be apologizing to you.”

Eunbin was speechless. Never in a million years did she think that Baekhyun would be mature enough to genuinely apologize. “I, uh…”

“Can you forgive me? Please?” Baekhyun asked nervously due to Eunbin’s hesitation. 

“Yes, I forgive you.”

Baekhyun smiled softly. “Good. I forgive you too.” 

Eunbin smiled back. “Now that that’s settled, I think I’m gonna go…”

Baekhyun pouted. “We just got to be friends and you’re leaving already? Can’t you at least help me pick out which sweatshirt is better?” Baekhyun grabbed two sweatshirts that he had been eyeing from the rack and looked at Eunbin with puppy dog eyes.

Eunbin playfully rolled her eyes. “I guess I have some time to spare.”

Baekhyun smiled. “Yay! So, which one do you like?” He held each one out individually and gave them a twirl.

“Hmm…” Eunbin squinted and pretended to think hard. “I like the one on the right better.”

Baekhyun looked unimpressed. “That one’s more expensive! Are you trying to make me go broke?”

“What can I say,” stated Eunbin. “I have expensive taste.”

Baekhyun looked at the two hoodies and put the one in his left hand back on the rack. “Me too.”

so im still trying to figure out wtf dracula was all about and if there is a deeper meaning at all. i compiled a list of all my observations - especially places where it might relate to sherlock, things that seem odd/out of place, important thematic moments, anything that is unexplained. idk if i will come back to this to try to piece it together more, but i needed to get it all down so i could look at it in its wholeness. in case you are interested, here is my commentary, any “points of interest,” i found, below the cut. 

episode 1:

vampirism is a contagion, sister agatha asks harker if he had “sexual intercourse” with dracula right away - aids

flies everywhere, on windows, the camera lens, one flies into harker’s eye

why did dracula let himself become such an old man? no one good to eat? (i’ve been telling everyone for years that you are what you eat)

story told by harker w/sister agatha interviewing him, almost leading him on

dracula is an old man for most of the episode, doesn’t come off as flirty or sexy to me, just seems coercive, controlling, and creepy. we barely get any time w/harker and dracula together, doesn’t seem like they have much chemistry

jonathan in and out of dream, weakened, coerced

he keeps going deeper into the castle and eventually discovers dracula’s undead and even dracula’s crypt itself but can’t find the person who wrote him a note

castle is a maze but jonathan discovers the map (hiding behind a portrait, deduces this in a way that makes pretty much no sense)

sun is equated to lover’s face

dracula never seems to lie, just says things in a truthful way that is obfuscated (except for when he knocks the mirror over and claims to being clumsy)

dracula wants to go to england bc he thinks the most cultured and rich people live there (aristocratic bullshit) but it is reinforced so many times that somehow him being choosy has helped him to live a long time .. confusing

episode 2:

starts w/dracula and agatha talking in his castle. dracula talks about how a story has to be interesting from the beginning, the contract between author and reader, “quality of time”

daughter (who sees dracula killing) doesn’t tell anyone, later kills herself by drinking a potion to avoid becoming infected

captain sokolov stays behind in ship w/agatha, piotr and cook escape

agatha discovers extra soil in dracula’s bed, realizes the fire didn’t kill him

dracula attacks sokolov but somehow he doesn’t die and can’t walk even though his wound is in his neck but still is able to DRAG himself?

dracula explains fear of cross as fear of oppression that he has inherited from eating peasants (but he is very choosy with his diet?)

ship sinks, sister agatha dies (implied, which is confusing bc harker also goes into the sea and doesn’t die.. maybe it has to do with the fact that she doesn’t have any soil? but neither did harker? vampire lore seems convoluted and confusing) dracula finds his soil (in the water)

dracula wakes up, goes ashore, its modern day and helicopters, a spot light, police cars, and modern day sister agatha greet him

episode 3:

weird vibe generally.. almost reminds me of tfp w/lighting and how it feels so off from the rest

dracula shows us that what he sees in the mirror is who he truly is (at least that is what is implied) an old ugly man

dracula is weird and kinda cute when he is amazed by modern times

we learn that agatha apparently died even though she was just in water and harker survived and was a “drowned man walking and talking” ?

jack (another john mirror?) is in love with lucy, there are a lot of scenes in a club ?, lucy gets engaged to a texan named quincy (who was apparently a main character in the original book and is an asshole in this). all these characters kind of suck

jonathan harker keeps calling jack, we are supposed to think he saved the jonathan harker foundation’s phone number in his phone as just “jonathan harker”? seems weird

jonathan harker  foundation was started by mina, supported by agatha’s family

lots of allusions to jonathan harker foundation getting money from a “bad” source - too much money to just be about science

mercenaries - one has a tattoo like assassin in sherlock

there is a moving clock on the floor of dracula’s cell/cage

dracula asks why he has a toilet when he is a vampire and we never get an answer

dracula’s cage looks like silence of the lambs (like A LOT)

blood is LIVES, dracula helps zoe get a sample of his blood by cutting his wrist with his fingernail - tells her “you have everything you need to know” when she takes his blood (dracula tells zoe, she drinks his blood)

“women don’t have rights, no one has rights” “dracula has rights” ???

zoe starts hallucinating/communicating w/agatha

lucy flirts w/jack and he seems disgusted, they force her to take a selfie and see herself as she really is

lucy freaks the fuck out about being ugly and burned and seems to be more obsessed with her beauty after dying which is weird because she seemed to be almost bitter about it when she was alive (didn’t care about or fear anything)

dracula says she will always be burned (why? jonathan survived being drowned, etc. dracula survived fire?) and that he doesn’t care

jack says he will always want to kiss her (even though he was just freaked out by her like 20 seconds ago) kisses her and kills her (at her request)

dracula seems unfazed? even though she was his “greatest bride” ?

zoe has been taken over by agatha? and realizes what the one thing is that dracula fears (the thing that ties together the sun, cross, and needing an invitation - apparently the soil thing doesn’t matter anymore..)

“only one thing in this world you are truly afraid of” - she knows, he doesn’t

he cannot bear to look in a mirror, won’t stand revealed in the sun, needs an invitation to come in - not real things, he has internalized the legends

zoe/agatha says that he was a warrior and so was his entire family (all his relatives, father, brothers, sons, were war heroes who died on the battlefield but not him)

he is the warlord who “skulks in the shadows and steals the lives of others”  and is “unwelcome everywhere” “sleeps in a box of dirt but dreams of a warriors grave”

he fears death the most - the cross represents going willingly to death to him, somehow the sun represents this too? (possibly he is afraid to seeing himself/the truth, same as the mirror)

it is never explained how the invitation thing is tied in.. assuming its because he feels “unwelcome everywhere” ?

she pulls the curtain and he doesn’t burn in the sun, shows him it was his fear of death and his shame all along

can’t conquer death until you face it without fear - “the game is over, you lose, you will live forever in shame”

dracula steps into sun, faces his shame

he faces his fear of death by drinking agatha’s blood, thus dying by suicide (which we were already told vampires can’t do)

gross fiery sex scene with agatha and dracula, he gives her a dream so she will have a nice death

“after all this time did you think I’d let it hurt?” ???

they are in a burning sun and are naked together in a circle, we see dracula’s butt again

it ends with the sun

… I absolutely do not go there, but… I need to rant somewhere and I refuse to start discord on YT w/ strangers.

Well, spoilers for the new Amnesia game.

I’m sorry, but I will die on the hill that Anton had a valid point. Would never call it right, but the whole point of Amnesia is being in a situation where literally everything is fucked. Like, given the situation the man was in, what he’d just seen… No. I don’t blame him from resorting to that.

He wasn’t just trying to save ‘himself.’ Think about it. They crash land in the desert—okay. Bad, but disasters happen, you do your best. He tries to tend to the injured, they start moving.

Then, they meet this weird magical being who wants a baby in return for helping them. Now, I will say he doesn’t react the best to that, but the fact is, I think they kinda hint at the start that he’s not exactly prepared/fit for this kind of intense situation. He panics a bit bc he thinks that people are going to die, esp since a number of them have already died, but then the Queen does the magic water thing that allegedly heals them. Okay.

But then they get this weird sickness that’s horribly mutating them and making them turn violent and aggressive. They start forgetting who they are and start attacking others. He somehow gets away w/ one of the others, but the rest are left behind, descending into madness.

He may be able to deduce that it was from the water, he’s definitely trying to treat Yasmin, he knows laudanum works. But there must be other concerns surfacing in his head. What if it starts w/ the water, but can go from there. What if it’s contagious. If so, how contagious is it. This is a disease that causes people to regress and turn extremely violent. Right before Tasi arrives at the village, he witness Yasmin murder everyone there. An entire village.

From his perspective? This isn’t just a risk to them specifically. If they take this disease, mutation, whatever it is, back to civilisation? What kind of hell would that unleash?

I don’t think he’s weighing Amari against just the expedition. I think he’s weighing Amari against the possibility of starting a plague, of one of them making it out but then turning. He’s weighing making a desperate deal w/ a very powerful being bc he just watched a stewardess violently slaughter an entire village on her own, despite being apparently still in partial control, only stopping when he killed her.

So my point is:

1) doctors are fucking humans you arse, they are not perfect, they can feel fear, they can panic, not every single doctor in the world is cut out for crashing in the middle of the desert, and I’d say esp not for fucking supernatural entities to tear his coworkers apart, or watching said coworkers turn into said monsters.

2) he just watches Yasmin murder the entire village, despite still having partial control over herself, and she specifically says she killed them, he saw her go after Tasi and not stop until he shot her—honestly, like Tasi, he has seen first hand the effects of this ‘disease,’ he has seen it’s process, what it does to people, what it turns them into, I’m not surprised he’d be panicking.

3) there’s no known cure and he doesn’t know it’s not contagious—sure, the villagers didn’t seem to get it, but maybe it’s carried by blood, maybe it’s slow acting, additionally, if they get out w/out being cured, what if they regress, go on a killing spree back in civilisation? What if it is contagious and by going back w/out a cure they set off a horrible plague, the end of the world? He’s been waiting w/ Yasmin at the village the whole time, stewing, watching her deteriorate, Tasi lost her memories but he retained his. He’s not weighing Amari’s chances just for the crew, he’s weighing the world, or however many people one of them could kill back in civilisation before they’re put down.

I’m of the opinion that he was genuinely wanting to get out and run tests until Yasmin murdered the village and he cracked. I can’t think of many people who’d be able to hold it together after seeing that. Esp any kind of medical professional, who I think their first thought would be ‘what if we spread this?’

Was it right? Well, no. Also, they do make it pretty clear the Queen would never have honoured her word, not really.

But as above, everything was fucked. There was really no good choice. On the one hand, you maybe get out, but you’re still infected, you could still mutate, the baby will still die, heck, the mother could kill her. Maybe it’s contagious and you start a zombie plague. Other option is… All of you just die there, try to end the disease, keep it contained. But he’s a doctor, he’s got a mindset to save as many lives as possible. Also, baby still dies.

I actually like the doctor’s character, bc he’s a realistic depiction of an ordinary man who was not equipped for this kind of hell to start w/, was never cut out to be on this kind of expedition in the first place, had a nice private practice in the city, who has been dropped into hell, just witnessed a single young woman massacre the people trying to help them, doesn’t know what the deal w/ the disease is, if it’s contagious, if they’d ever been able to hold on long enough to find a cure, or if they’d just regress later anyway, there’s fucking supernatural shit going on… Frankly, I’m impressed he held it together as long as he did. He’s a regular man who cracked under absolutely unimaginable circumstances. No doctor wakes up in the morning and expects to be dropped into the middle of the desert to watch his companions die and/or mutate into murderous monsters bc some scary ghost lady wants a kid. After everything he saw… I don’t blame him.

Again, not a good or the best choice, def wouldn’t call it morally correct. I know protagonist centred morality is in play, I know the player sympathises w/ Tasi bc you follow her the whole story, know her past, and while Is ay this, I do also understand her reaction. I’m just saying I also understand his and think it was valid, given the circumstances.

I don’t think there were any good choices. They were both right and wrong.
