everything i draw always takes me so so so long to do and i can't decide if its bc i like agonize over details and trying to make things perfect too much and don't know how to let loose or if I'm just like, griping that Things Take Effort and it doesn't really take me any longer than it should...,,,if that makes sense

#idk i think i might be comparing myself to others a bit too much lately #but i see so much wonderful art that has this really loose almost unfinished quality to it #not unfinished but like sparing i guess? in a really beautiful delicate way #and its something ive always admired but NEVER been able to do #so when i see artists who can be satisfied with something rly beautiful that they only consider a warmup or a doodle #i get jealous #bc drawing always has to be a Whole Big Thing with me dhkjdhgfj #we got a SKETCH LAYER we got a SECOND SKETCH LAYER for a sketch that cleans up the first sketch #then we got LINES and then the LINE COLORS and then the SHADING SEPARATED BY SKIN / HAIR / CLOTHES / ETC #THEN TOP LAYER DETAILS THEN OVERLAYS THEN #but then other artists can just clean up a sketch all on one layer and it just looks. gosh dang beautiful #idk man #gotta do a lil artistic soul searching #gotta stop comparing my progress to others' too much #but also gotta maybe push myself out of my comfort zone more #txt
