Rymrgand reminds me of the Lone Power from the Young Wizards series, except uh....a lot less sympathetic and charming
#but just the concept of a god that doesn't necessarily rule death so much as entropy#as the end of thing#death is transition at least in eora#but that's not his purview#his purview is entropy and the slow decay of things to nothingness#nothingness itself is his Thing#Void#which is a very interesting badis for a clergy#it's not nihilism exactly#or at all really#it more just the idea that true mercy is found in capital E periodt Endings#honestly im a lot mire interested in the dichotomy of rymrgand vs gaund than i am in rymrgand vs. berath#bc berath is pretty straight forward tbh like this is The Turn of the Wheel#we live we die we live again#gaun is more about the renewing aspect of death imo#like how you have to controlled burns sometimes to keep a field or a forest healthy#destruction has its place in the healing of the world#decay nourishes new life#like no wonder rymrgand doesn't care for eothas#half of eothas's whole deal is calling into question what rymrgand's domain is truly about#but yeah the lone power i think draws a lot more from the idea of lucifer#there's a...tragedy to it#nothing tragic in rymrgand
