Okaaaay just finished my first re-read of all 3 Hunger Games books since I was 12..... inconsolable frankly
#as much as I adore the movies... they simply have NOTHING on the books#particularly bitter about how much softer and more heroic they tried to make gale in the movies#which I know they did to pitch the love triangle harder#bc based on the books it's not even a competition! Gale is the worst and they HAD to change him to make it seem like a real choice#I could write a thesis on gale's bitch ass but I digress#also devastated at the absolute lack of Johanna Mason trauma in the movies#and her bond with Katniss!! they both get excluded from going to the capitol originally#so they train together! they force each other to keep going until Johanna's ptsd from the capitol hits her too hard#But they don't even address her aside from snarky remarks in the last 2 movies#same w Finnick honestly...#god the books are just so so good#can't believe I waited so long to reread#thg
