I’ve been off tumblr for about 3 years but I’ve decided to start using it again... I think 🤔
Here’s my first (and so far, only) comic, which I made back in summer 2019 to submit to an anthology of coming-of-age stories called “Bloom”, published by Big Brown Eyes Collective. The anthology is available to order from their etsy: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BBEcollective
NB: As I designed this to be read page-by-page in a book, please click on each of the four images and read each page at a time from top left to bottom right .
This is a short comic about my eyebrows, cos I’m the kind of person who would make such a thing (well, when they’ve been made out to be such a big deal by society then you would)!
The version I’m posting here has a bit more tone added to the colours compared to the version in the anthology (fyi).

Open call for comic artists & illustrators for anthology book Deadline: June 30, 2019 Repost for @bbecollective 💥DEADLINE EXTENSION💥 Open-call for comic artists and illustrators to submit to our anthology Bloom and have their work published! 😃 DEADLINE Midnight Sunday 30th June INFO Bloom is the fifth anthology in our series which is now open to emerging and expert comic artists to take part in, and we're looking for more people to be involved 😃 We’re looking for comics which explore the theme ‘coming of age’ in an alternative way to include in our next published book titled Bloom. 🌷 THE BRIEF: We're looking for short comics or sequential / narrative illustrations. The title is Bloom and the theme is coming-of-age stories or growing up. 👦👨👴 However we don’t want the boring old tropes; we’re looking for a creative take on the tale that may depict for example personal growth, people’s perceptions, grappling with identity, or gaining knowledge and understanding. Give your own take on the theme, fictional, factual or surreal! ⚡ SUBMISSIONS SHOULD BE: 🌼Suitable for an A5 portrait booklet 🌼2 or 4 pages (not 1, 3 or more than 4) 🌼PG16 🌼Submitted to [email protected] 🌼Deadline: 30th June 2019 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: Bloom will be sold in comic shops and fairs throughout the country from Autumn 2019! BBE will cover all printing costs and every contributing artist will receive a free copy of the book 📖 As usual, any profit we make from selling the anthology goes straight back into producing the next one, we don’t keep any of it for ourselves 😋 Email [email protected] to register your interest! 🌹 Image: @fredaldous incredible window display 😍 . . . #meetthemaker #comics #comicart #indiecomics #anthology #comicanthology #comicsubmissions #artcomissions #comiccommission #comiccommunity #art #artcompetition #illustration #illustrator #UKillustration #bigbrowneyes #bigbrowneyescollective #opencall #callforsubmissions #callforartists #artopportunity #art #opencallforartists #illustratorsofinstagram #comicartist #artpublisher #makeartnotwar #igcomicbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/Byc6VqDFP0D/?igshid=1ufngsbl3l7hs
