Has anyone written a college/university au?? Goodness I would LOVE to see how the Burger universe kids reinvented themselves as young adults. What cliques would they join? What Scholarly Stereotype would they most align with??

There's a hierarchy/competition amongst the Horse Girlies so Tina gets adopted by the egirls that crochet or knit (but still joins the Equestrian society, with an egirl that starts to like horses bc of her friendship w Tina)

Tammy is friends with all the Law/Business/Corporate Baddies which (slow burn) results in Jocelyn having a rivalry/being frenemies with a Law Girl that lies ALL the time (unfortunately a very Real Life trope)

Do you think Henry and Susmita would go to the same college or would they have broken up to follow their academic dreams? I kinda see Henry going to a fancy private college (Henry and Hogarth have HEAVY elitist/hierarchical - aka posh and snobby lol - parents vibes. Y'know the "my grt grandfather owned your grt grandfather AND I have more boats than friends so I'm BETTER" vibes). But Susmita gives me the energy that she's worked REAL hard, she's put the fkn effort in and she will go FERAL if anyone tries to jeopardise that. (think when Tina disagreed with her on the science project and Susmita literally was just like "fine. Do what you want. But this is MY project. YOU do something else") she was happy to let Tina disagree and want to take the project in a different direction, but she (Susmita) was NOT going to let that happen.

Would Zeke go to university? I don't wanna instantly be like "he's too,, Country™ for school" because that's such a used trope now. Like for/as a non-american the whole "rednecks are stupid" was funny as a kid (think Simpson's Cletus), but it's just sO played out now. Gimme smn fresh. I wanna see a redneck IN college, achieving their dreams (or not, the drama) with their THICK, DENSE accents (affectionately). Zeke's super smart so there's no real reason why he wouldn't get a scholarship or something. But would he WANT to? He's touched upon his nervous energy around new/unfamiliar people, would that still apply at college? Would he have grown out of that? Would his family still "move around a lot" by the time he reaches uni age?? Would it cause HIM to go to a fat away school (instead of Henry)??

Oh my god Zeke would lose his MIND over The Iron Claw (2023), maybe he'd be friends with the movie buffs and foodies. I mean he's already besties with J-Ju and Gene so that's checked lmao.

jimmy jr is a thirteen year old boy so his thoughts aren't really that deep but i can 100% see him writing poetry when he's older and getting into philosophical discussions that he probably does not entirely understand

general opinions: Jocelyn, when not in Tammy's orbit or artificially made terrible, is actually pretty cool. She's nice to Tina when alone and, in more recent seasons, has stood up to Tammy a few times. I just really hate when she's an asshole. Teenagers can be mercurial and also people do act differently in different situations. However, I feel that these mood swings are less authentic with Jocelyn as they only seem to happen in episodes where Tina has to be isolated from the core eighth grade friend group to facilitate the plot.

Viserys walked towards his chambers clutching several books he had bought from the library. Though the number of tomes in his grasp wasn't vast, their collective weight was considerable, weighing down his arms. Although despite their unwieldyness he was able to carry them, he wondered with a smirk if his recent squiring was to blame.

Just then one of the books on the top, the one with a dark blue cover toppled over, Viserys cursed under his breath as he bent down to begin to pick it up, but then the other books he was carrying fell over in quick succession as well. He sighed and kneeled down to pick up the fallen books, huffing in frustration and began to rearrange them like they were blocks and he was Baelon or Aemma. 

"Damn it," he muttered as he tried to maintain his balance while gathering the books back up into his arms. From the corner of his eye, he caught sight of a woman leaning over the sunny balcony, and despite her not staying in King's Landing often, he still recognized her lady, Jocelyn Baratheon, the former wife of the pale prince Aemon and the mother of his grandmother Rhaenys.

Viserys paused in his tracks, his usual curiosity propelled him forward to greet her. He approached her with a mixture of eagerness and trepidation, unsure of how she might react to his greeting.

"Lady Jocelyn," he began, his voice faltering slightly "I hope I'm not disturbing you."

Isn't it "funny" how Rhaena (the BB, Dreamfyre's first rider)'s connections to both her daughter and mother have so many shapes of the need for freedom metaphoircally represented through flight? Rhaena at one point promises to give Aerea access to a trove of eggs to pick from, when at KL, even though she was the center of most attentions she was not assured the same for whatever eggs the Keep may have had nor did Jaehaerys ever encourage (purposefully) her like Rhaena.

Alyssa may not have been a Targaryen, but the way she "allows" (it was an arranged marriage even if a happy one; another important bit is the cultivtion after the wedding) her future children the highest possible places in society by essentually sacrificining her body in the institution of marriage. Only for them all to be put in the worst kinds of dnager because of their proximity to that power, it's so dizzying and suffocating, and she has to continue to sacrifice her body and mind towards all her kids--or those she had at hand--lives or public faces....only for Jaehaerys to essentially domestically betray her by leaving her to marry and live with a man who publicly humiliated her and tried to usurp him! For her to die of childbirth, for a child--no hate to Jocelyn, ever--she nor Rogar didn't even "need" as an heir or a spare! A woman who's played the game and was shunted off for the better of it in the end.

Rhaena also sacrifices her own autonomy & safety for her children (Maegor, BB, Tyanna), was willing to risk losing the throne for her brother-husband Aegon and herself before that. While she expresses her resentments in--to some people--a too disfavorable way--really, what it isa is that people are so uncomfortable seeing a woman not emotionally and behviorally comply so obviously and "carelessly"--she acknowledges Aerea's distress...only it's too late bc she had fallen into a dreary miasma of trauma that also didn't allow heer to say goodbye to her mother for the last time.

Do you see?! It's all so written so well, the cycle of not abuse per se, but overdependent resentful expression for women/girls of different places of entrapment, like different stages of womanhood but never in a static stereotypical way:

never having known what is is like to "fly" (have the sort of access to both a political tool of one's own value as well as an "escape" in a nondemanding creature, i.e., a dragon), the matron who's "rewards" turned to ash, the post-storm -- Alyssa

having lived a privileged life and that mode of power in society /self-assurance outside of it, you're still caught up and damaged by the machinations of those still having that much power over you, the storm -- Rhaena

having had little real knowledge of the going on before and around you that shapes your life and why you spent so much time in your morst fomative years away from your mother and like her, also not knowing the depth of your own future entrapments in marriage and being another "threat" to a male relative's own power, the child/pre-storm -- Aerea

Niche bb headcanons no one asked for:

Chloe experiments with bows once and can’t come up with a comeback for Louise’s “if you were going for Powerpuff girl, great job.” Is it a compliment? Is it an insult? How is she supposed to respond?

When Bob started getting gray in his mustache, he hid it from Linda because she’d want to see the sexy salt and pepper look, but it was only four gray hairs clustered to make it look like something was hanging out of his nose.

Dr. Swanson (Logan’s doctor) is Tom Bush’s golfing buddy, and he agreed to make sure everything was “totally normal” with his old friend’s son. It wasn’t, but he wasn’t about to tell Tom. Nobody else shares their flask on the course.

Also, Tom is scared of Dr. Yap, who canonically works in the same building as him.

Trying keep with the times, the One-Eyed Snakes make meth with gimmicks like “essence of açaí berry” but it turns out that’s basically exactly what any fad weight loss medicine was anyway. They pulled the plug because they may be drug dealers but they won’t perpetuate self esteem issues.

Tina sells friendship bracelets, but the only one who buys one is Gene (who gave it to Louise so she could have a bracelet from Tina AND him)

Harley’s from a big family, and she’s made up a song to help people learn all the names of her cousins. She’ll gladly sing it for anyone. Most people walk away after the seventh verse.

Nat is forklift certified

Gene secretly fills in as a DJ at the old folks home once a month (it’s not a secret, he just forgot to tell people). The senior citizens all turn off their hearing aids until Gene starts playing the classics with a fart noise mixed in here and there.

Jimmy Jr., Zeke, Tammy, and Jocelyn all think they’re Tina’s closest friend and fight about it. Tammy argues that she doesn’t WANT the title, but how could Tina not like her the best in a most treasured rival way? Jimmy Jr. says “well we’ve kissed so it’s hard to get closer than that.” Zeke coughs suspiciously then mentions Tina broke him out of the slammer. Jocelyn doesn’t have an argument but likes being included. Tina has no idea these fights happen, but she’s closest with Gene and Louise.
