so i installed bazzite, a form of linux, when i was like really tired 2 days ago, and i was planning on getting rid of it because i was like "nah i'm windows"

yeah safe to say that didn't happen lol

i love bazzite! i'll still keep windows for like productivity and work and all that, but for games i'm gonna use linux now i guess!

the only problems i have faced so far:

Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller seem to not like pairing.

Running Hypnospace Outlaw using Steam Proton kicks my wireless headphones into a lower bitrate mode that only affects that window??? weird

I have to completely "forget" and then re-pair my wireless headphones every time I switch between Windows and Bazzite.

It's been years but I'm really happy to revisit from time to time these two old designs and see how much I've actually improved.

So I also made an AU that is rather different from my initial idea, I might explain it some other time.

Dumortierite:

Hardness 8.5, they're rather gloomy and stern, despite their hardness they are rather vulnerable to heavy attacks and their color doesn't help too much, however, due to the lack of diamonds in this AU, Dumo could be considered one of the best warriors around. Recently paired up with Bazzite.

Bazzite:

Hardness 7, despite their hardness they are clumsy and not too bright, this caused them to not have a job for quite some time. They've recently been paired up with Dumo, and ever since then, Bazz has showed to be a capable fighter with the scythe.

i wonder if the main thing stopping valve from releasing steamos 3 for general use is that they want it to work on nvidia hardware as well and that's just like not possible right now.

bazzite exists and gives you the steamos 3 experience with more, holoiso and chimera exist too and all of these work perfectly on amd gpus but nvidia cards are straight up unsupported*

*bazzite runs on nvidia cards but specifically with the desktop-only images. game mode, which is what gives you the steam deck experience is not available for nvidia cards.

Black Myth: Wukong is a stellar game so far. Plus, it works very well on Linux. (I’m playing on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed and Bazzite.)

i really wish I had infinite disposable income so I could buy every handheld gaming pc on the market and compare how bazzite runs on them to see if the steam deck could ever be replaced

Main 3 Linux distros I’m looking at now are Mint, Pop, and Bazzite.

Mint seems decent all around but there are better options for games.

Pop is good for games, but I had trouble customizing the desktop in the demo.

Bazzite is based off Steam OS and looks good, but has no demo so you can’t try it before installing.

That's the Marine Mammal Rescue centre in Vancouver BC. I've been there for a tour. Once they are old enough to not be in the tubs, they get to go to fish school and learn to compete and hunt for fish before they get released. They're all so cute. I adopted one on my last visit. My seal son's name is Bazzite.
