Fin och härlig eftermiddag hos @bautawitch med massor av fina garner. Bilderna är hennes alster. Jag köpte garn till en kudde och @muffepuffe1 köpte garn till en väska. Trevligt fika bjöds vi på också. En härlig dag! ❤️ #bautawitch #bautawitchpattern https://www.instagram.com/p/BwPV4StHdwU/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=cdcrf9zrk35f

Mate I can crochet like...blankets? But your crochetanisms have made me realise my priorities are apparently WAY out of line where craft is concerned because OH MY GOD I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DO THIS. Do you have any recommendations for resources specifically regarding how to make crochet figures? Or did you mostly just figure it out yourself through trial and error?
Thank you for the ask! I’m afraid that my answer won’t be very helpful since I’ve largely beeen figuring it out by myself through trial and error and the few resouces I’ve used are in swedish and not that specific (I’ll link them anyway since you could probably understand them with google translate and a list of translated crochet terms like this one.). My best advice is to figure out what you can do with different stitches by following patterns made by others and modifying them to suit your needs. Then it’s easier to improvise
Anyways, the links I have: I taught myself to crochet by following a ‘crochet school’ in four parts where you learn the basic stitches. For crochet figures I especially recommend the fourth part where you learn how to do 3d crochet by increasing and decreasing. The other parts aren’t as relevant (except for maybe part 3), but they’re a good start if you’ve never crocheted before. Here’s the links: 1, 2, 3, 4
Regarding patterns to follow, I recommend BautaWitch’s blog (also in swedish) since I found them easy to follow and they also have pictures. There are lots of flowers that are fun to make. Maybe not that good for crochet figures, but  useful for building a sense of what you can do and how the stitches can be used.
Another pattern I’ve followed that helped me is for an among us figure (and this one is actually in english). That’s where I learnt about crocheting in the back loop only and also from where I stole the crochetchanisms’ legs (with a little modification). It’s also good practice for sewing different parts together.
So basically I recommend that you follow patterns but modify them a little, maybe try to make up something easier on your own, I made an octokitten as my first attempt on improvising patterns (but they multiplied so now I have three) and learn through trial and error.
If you want to make your own crochetchanisms I could  translate and share the base pattern I made up (head, body, arms and legs) and answer questions abut how I made specific parts (if I remember), just DM me(or send another anon ask if you’re more comfortable with that). I’d be happy to talk about them! (Just to be clear, this offer extends to anyone who wants it)
And good luck with your crocheting anon, I’d love to see the results if you’re willing to share <3

. #återvinning #återbruk #virka #virktokig #nätkasse #virkning#återvunnetgarn #plarn #ikeahack #ikeahacks #crochet#crochetersofinstagram #bautawitch #bautawitchmönster https://www.instagram.com/p/Bn66M1xHTvF/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1tuvp0ixoj6ti
