Then again... Remember how Danny became Dan in the first place?

Even if he knows they'll become ghosts, it would still be quite traumatic for Dan and possibly could reignite some bad memories from a timeline that no longer exists.

If we're going Dan without access to his memories, I think that might hit a bit too close to home in the back of his mind. Fuzzy memories of a precious life but too blurry and short to describe or focus on, yet still fill him with an unspeakable rage and sadness regardless even if he can't make any sense of it all.

BatDan makes his no kill policy long before he becomes a hero, not because he doesn't trust himself to know when to stop killing... But because at least a part of him knows the type of monster that could be reawakened if he gives in.

Batman (Dan) watches as most of the JL members are injured to some degree and others are in need of emergency medical attention.

So he calls Danny and Ellie and stands up as though he didn't have a broken leg moments ago and transforms.

He flies in the sky and Danny and Ellie join him, making a dramatic triangular formation. Then they proceed to kick ass together.

That would be pretty wild. I don't know how this type of AU would work, especially since I am rather partial to Bruce's origin story with the Waynes and the alleyway. But it can be a lot of fun! There are also a lot of other questions: how does Dan become Bruce in this scenario? Is this a case where the Phantom crew are from another world and Dan went to this one? Because I can't imagine that Danny and Ellie would just sit around while all this was happening even if Danny was retired or something.

(There are also the implications that Dan could have done something when Jason was being beaten in Ethiopia but didn't, but that's 🙈 Let's not talk about that lol I'm getting ahead of myself.)

The Batfam were already insane, but with Uncle Danny and Aunt Ellie? They have new, horrible (mischievous) role models. XD

though this does have some concerning implications re: thomas and martha. like, clockwork should've seen that coming, right? and dan would've known that? honestly surprised he didn't go back to the ol' murderhobo routine at the ripe old age of eight instead of waiting and only nearly having that happen later, with jason's death.

Danny hadn't heard of his alternative future version since he and Clockwork worked together to de-age him and send him to some distant relatives 40 years ago, after Dan begged them to do it since he wanted a second chance to live again.

So imagine his surprise when he receives a desperate call from Dan, now Bruce Wayne, raving about clowns and something about Lazarus blood pools.

Anyway when is DC gonna realize what a goldmine Jason as Robin is and give us a limited series about an abused kid learning to trust, fulfilling his biggest dream of helping people, getting the education he always dreamed of, having a place in this world that cast him aside and a family that loves him unconditionally while fangirling over Jane Austen and working so hard at school that his teacher has to call a parent teacher meeting where they tell Bruce that Jason needs to chill the fuck out and Bruce calls Jason chum or Jay-lad and they both just help each other out of a pit of isolation and darkness
