Actually, after taking some time to think about it, I'm kind of glad they answered the alt!jmart question so quickly. I'm nervous enough about what they might do with Basira, Helen, Georgie, and the rest without also having to worry about the two former main characters on top of it all.
#'what they might do' as in 'how they might suffer'#tbh im actually super curious what role basira and helen will play#basira is just a fascinating character in general and helen-#in a show thats getting so deep into identity and 'who are you really'#bringing in the person we only ever really knew as something Other#as a distorted version of herself that fully admitted the original was very different-#this is real estate helen! this is tory helen! this is helen /richardson/‚ and i am fascinated to meet her#and find out who she is‚ really#the magnus protocol#tmagp spoilers#23 a new you#my magnus protocol stuff#original post#queue cause i'll be at work when the episode airs#the dinghy

the magnus archives
TMA = The Magnus Archives = a horror podcast made by a company called Rusty Quill I like this podcast a lot. I was introduced to it in a Discord server, and managed to get through season 1 and 2 in... I want to say a few months? Not terribly long. s3-5 took me... less than a month. I think I started 3/3/21 and just finished ep 199 today, 3/24/2021. spoilers below! I don’t have any specific episode numbers, so I would say maybe don’t read more if you aren’t all caught up.
There is so much to say about this, so I may be a bit all over the place. The concept itself, of these beings that are literally made out of and feed from our fears is fascinating. The characters are fun and there are some really good bits of dialogue. Oh and the transcripts. THE TRANSCRIPTS. if you haven’t already, go check them out! There are often fun descriptions of the sound effects. I have grown to dread hearing the word “book”
That part where the archivist burns gerry’s page from the book was a part that sticks in my mind, no idea why. Distortion Michael gave me nightmaresthat insomnia episode really shook me up whoo boy. Heights ones was generally spooky, although i dont have any real fear of heights so it didn’t strike me personally THE ONE WHERE THEY CONTEXUALIZE THE NOT-PEOPLE WAS. A TIME. it kind of made me a little sad when there were talking about how even though they didnt really like their mother they still listen to the tapes because now thats all they have
tim.
daisy.
Helen was really interesting. I genuinely thought she could maybe be helping them? I was wrong
"Now, if you're quite done inciting me to murder?" "not murder! smiting.” corpse roots are a deeply unpleasant concept that I dislike I remember when I thought that coffin just contained a corpse. what a fool i was.
basira is such a (for lack of a better word) human character. Her conflict is trying to see the bad parts of people she loves and who she has trusted with her life in the past, which isn’t something I think ive ever seen before.
