The Bride's Defender
In the bustling streets of London, the aroma of freshly baked pastries filled the air as Basil of Baker Street, the legendary detective mouse, found himself embroiled in yet another puzzling case.
As he made his way through the crowded marketplace, Basil's keen eyes caught sight of a commotion unfolding outside the grand cathedral. Curious, he approached the gathering crowd, his sharp mind already racing with possibilities.
To his astonishment, Basil discovered that the commotion was due to a wedding crime about to take place! The bride had been accosted by a group of nefarious villains intent on stealing her precious jewels before the ceremony could even begin.
With no time to spare, Basil sprang into action, his mind working at lightning speed as he formulated a plan to thwart the dastardly criminals and save the day.
Rushing into the cathedral, Basil spotted the bride's dress hanging nearby, an idea forming in his clever mind. Without hesitation, he donned the elegant gown, his whiskers twitching with determination as he prepared to spring his trap.
Just as the villains were about to make their move, Basil emerged from the shadows, his voice ringing out with authority as he confronted the would-be thieves.
"Stop right there, you scoundrels!" Basil declared, his voice muffled slightly by the layers of fabric that enveloped him. "You shall not ruin this wedding on my watch!"
The villains froze in their tracks, their eyes widening in disbelief at the sight before them. A mouse in a bride's dress? Surely, they must be dreaming.
But before they could react, Basil sprang into action, using his wits and agility to outmaneuver the villains and apprehend them before they could cause any harm.
And as the bride and groom exchanged vows amidst the chaos, Basil stood proudly by their side, his makeshift disguise serving as a symbol of his unwavering dedication to justice.
For Basil of Baker Street, no case was too strange or too daunting, as long as justice prevailed in the end.

Look all I'm saying is that I think it would be a very big missed opportunity if RSA's Potionology Teacher isn't based on Basil of Bakerstreet. And if Yana doesn't give me this, I will take matters into my own hands

At the end of my shift, I brief the next person coming in on everything (important) I've done and if I need them to do any catch up, or noticed something. Also if there are any issues (register problems, mechanical things, call the boss about x, etc).
Me: "Today I need you to vibe with the basil out back."
Coworker: "huh?"
Me: "Hang out with it. Refresh its water. Talk to it. Sing it a song."
Coworker: "Just like...hang out outside for a while?"
Me: "Yeah. And if the boss gives you shit, tell him I asked you to."
Coworker: "is...is this something you usually do?"
Me: "please. It is too hot today. I can't stay outside longer. Wait until it cools off."
Coworker: "on my shift? Just hang out outside? With the basil?"
Me: "It's name is Basil (as in of Bakerstreet). This is very important."

Who’s an underrated Disney character you like and why?
Basil of Bakerstreet. He is a literal mouse version of Sherlock Holmes. "The Great Mouse Detective" is one of the greatest Disney films I've ever watched. Basil is a great character! He is very similar to Sherlock Holmes, but is unique in his own way.

This reminds me of the i should do more comic recommendations thing. Apparently the great mouse detective comic adaptation by François Corteggiani and Giorgio Cavazzano is really good and heard people say it’s better than the movie. So like i think thats cool. I will read it when around these guys are watchjng it or something.
Theres also a lot of Dutch comics with Basil of Bakerstreet which ive seen so many of that i dont really care, but i think it could be fun if disney comics tumblr would go and read some of the earliest French comics together. Just an idea.
Apparently the first few Danish comics by Paul Halas and Tom Anderson were quite good as well. So could do those too. (Apparently they even made a 3 tiered Basil comic, but it has almost no publications. Too bad, cause it looks quite good)
So anyone up for great mouse detective in the comics corner too?

i have a trans headcanon. basil of bakerstreet (mouse sherlock holmes from the movie „the great mouse detective“) is trans and mlm. he used to be in a relationship with ratigan. this can be seen in the italian version of ratigans villain song „goodbye so soon“. that song is a literal love song in the italian version, called „addio amor“ (goodbye [my] love). in the song he proclaims „non sei più mia“ (you are not mine anymore). „mia“ is the feminine version of mine, „mio“ would be masculine. he still claims that he wrote the song for basil.
he purposefully misgenders basil and reminds him of their failed relationship in an attempt to break his spirit. so basil is a trans man. because i said so. and ratigan is evil
