this may be a hot take but i don’t actually think kant is that good of an actor lmao. maybe it’s just cause first is that good of an actor, but i feel like the nuances of kant when he’s putting on a facade and when he’s not are so clear. like he has such a specific voice when he’s playing things up with bison vs when he is being genuine, and he really doesn’t have the best poker face honestly. like it’s very easy for him to flirt with bison because while he’s playing them up, sure, there are genuine feelings and attraction there. however, when bison does things that catch him off guard, it’s so easy to see his actual feelings: ie, when bison suggests dancing at the alley or when bison starts tying him down in the end scene of ep3.
which is also why i’m fairly certain kant IS into the pain play to a certain extent, because he does seem to actually be curious after the lip bite and even somewhat into the nipple play. he just doesn’t trust bison, which makes it impossible to enjoy it 100%.
i think the only scene you can argue he was actually truly acting in a convincing way was the scene with tawan, but that was also essentially scripted, which is very different from the way he has to improvise his way through everything with bison.
and also i think the fact that kant is a not a great actor is part of why bison was seeing right through him for so long. it’s only when kant gives himself over that bison starts to actually trust him, and while yes it’s a partially a lie, part of the reason kant’s lies are working so well is because there’s some amount of truth to it. he’s not a good actor, he just knows that the most believable lies are the ones that have truth to them.
