son of a regular patron at my library (they're there ALL the time, i buy food from the mom most weeks, the 4 year old daughter sits on my lap and i talk to her about science) who i have suspected was some sort of gay for a while, came out to me on friday after a conversation about nico di angelo.

the kid is 14, almost 15, apparently his mom made it pretty clear she wouldn't approve of him being gay. other people are allowed to do their own thing, but not him.

AND apparently he was outed at school and the kids on his wrestling team harass him over it. his only optimism is that he still likes girls so he can at least be in a straight presenting relationship if it happens, and he is looking forward to leaving home for college.

all i could do was sympathize and joke with him, and i came out to him in turn, but i have no substantial advice to offer :(

Stranger would most likely hold resentment to both Basil and Sunny. After everything, the final battle, after the realization of the truth and managing to self-forgive. It didnt help Stranger. Sure, he did what he was meant to do. A purpose fulfilled and he was meant to be erased, but he couldnt accept that. What did he want? Stranger was never acknowleged, it was always one-sided. And it was with the one person, the one hope, Stranger could rely on. Stranger remembers pieces of Basil, about how Sunny knew of his secrets, dreams, worries, all of it. It is painful, because Sunny still tried to shut him out. Stranger wants to save him, but there has to be a point where you ask "why do i try?". It might be selfish, but Stranger didnt exactly do anything wrong. He is a manifestation of the pieces of Basil Sunny was afraid him, that base eventually making him into the person he is in the present. Stranger wasnt actually there to tie the rope, he remembers it, sure, the guilt is overwhelming, but he still didnt do it. Also, while Stranger is hurt from Sunny/Omori's, he holds back a lot of his feelings for him. He is created with the outer knowledge that Stranger is a manifestation in a nightmare. Of course Sunny wouldnt think of Stranger as a person, there is no reason to be aggressive. That would probably fill that resentment further after he arrives in Faraway, since he is given that chance to be human. It seemed like Sunny's well being came first, no doubt, he was basically a god.

Resentment for Basil develops from the memories Stranger has from the recitial. "A desperate, shameful image acussed him of being somebody meant to be forsaken" is a line (maybe different wording im going off memory) i used in the fanfiction where Stranger wonders if he could possibily be a little selfish in life. Stranger doesnt want to be that unstable mess who couldnt find reason in a stressful situation.

And i agree what you said about Basil being careless about his own life and Stranger resenting that. Their abadonment struggles definetly differ from each other since Basil willingly hid away in the belief that he was undeserving of being listened to. Even so, it pulled him into such a sprial where Basil pinned those 4 lonely years on Sunny during the fight. Mostly influenced by the fact that Sunny was moving away and that Basil wasnt in the right mind space.

Stranger had no choice and had to face it all alone without any reason except for the memories he was given.

Rambling a lot, uhhhjmshsbs, about the rest of the gang, Stranger doesnt have a lot of thoughts about them. He barely remembers them, he only remembers the idea of pinics, flowers, friends, and family. He knows that the dreamworld versions are copies, so he doesnt have much to say since they were gone after the funeral.

Since Stranger is going to meet them again in the world world, he might get complex feelings seeing everyone all grown up. He might get anxious and wonder if he could really make up for what he lacked for his entire life. Its what he wanted, to belong AAAHHH LIKE YOU SAID Stranger may feel like he cant truly be friends with them. Meeting them again might make him hyper aware of who he is. An actual stranger to these people, who all changed. I have a small headcanon that Stranger would always call Hero "Henry" despite it always being his nickname because he doesnt want to seem intrusive or rude by assuming that he is close enough to call him that (unaware that literally everyone calls him Hero). Also because Stranger has never been around adults before and would probably use Ms. to address Polly as well.

Other things I think about is how Stranger precieves himself, like his human-self. He doesnt want to look too closely at his body and usually changes his clothes in the dark. Stranger isnt a human, he is a manifestation based off somebody else. A creature? He was created. Its complicated. His body is a complicated topic, one that he doesnt want to know about quite yet.

There is so much more ideas I have about Stranger. like the idea of death coming back to him, him actually thinking and wanting to go back to the darknees at one point, witnessing senseless cruetly, asking for help, the idea of aging, that fact that so many people have different minds (Stranger only deeply understood one, Sunny), self-expression, sickness, purpose and the thought of living itself.

Oh hooligans, those sillies. Stranger, as 'Rowan', hangs around with Kim and the others. Getting to know new people was suggested and Stranger got to know them a little more. I like thinking about them cause its important :>

It's alright if u don't wanna answer this cuz this argument gets people really riled up but do you think c!Techno is a tyrant or nah?

Cuz many c!techno apologists argue that he isn't just cuz he's an anarchist but I've also read a lot of essays that go against it and it'd be really interesting to see ur opinion on this

i think he, in some contexts, can most definitely be called tyrannical, yes. a tyrant? no.

to avoid spamming ppl w discourse we've all def heard before (and bc this ended up MASSIVE (like 2.3k ish), but fairly in depth bc i didnt wanna speak out of bad faith and wanted to be EXPLICTLY clear-- oops), the rest will be under readmore

so heres the thing i want to preface: i used to really LOVE c!techno. i joined beginning of s2, right when exile started, and he was arguably my favorite character. since then though i've fallen out with him a LOT, to the point i almost... actively despite him at times (though mainly in a toxic kind of way which i can acknowledge is flawed).

in short, his actions started to speak louder than his words and i lost investment in his personal character struggles because of the actions he took (doomsday was my breaking point. i get feeling angry and betrayed, as well as seeking revenge against lmanberg, but his actions went too far for me to CARE and it hurt so many more characters as well.)

so when i speak, i come from a place of disliking him but also somewhat understanding the position c!techno apologists come from: i used to be one of them myself.

NOW, do i think he's a tyrant? no. for reference in my analysis, i try to look up the definition of terms to make sure they are utilized properly. while "tyranny" and "tyrannical" can have multiple uses, tyrant itself is a more specific term. to combine the top two definitions, a tyrant is referring to "an extremely oppressive, unjust, or cruel absolute ruler (who governs without restrictions, especially one who seized power illegally.)"

techno's position as an anarchist, imo, DOES indeed make him unable to be a tyrant. tyrants are rulers with very clear power over others from a structural way. anarchists are about the lack of structure or power over others and instead viewing the people around you as equals in power.

in forming the syndicate, they very explicitly worked to not designate a leader and instead make it so that no one would have any power over the others systemically. techno may have taken a integral role, yes, but it doesn't make him suddenly "the leader", its a role that wouldve had to be filled by someone (even if it was democratic to decide who to invite, they'd need someone to hand over the invite itself yknow? like no matter WHAT there needed to be A ROLE)

one could argue that he IS a leader in the shadow hierarchy of the syndicate (which, yes, is a real and professional term used in management courses despite sounding like it comes from a 4kids yugioh dub) in that everyone CONSIDERS and looks to him a leader without him having any actual structural basis behind it, but to argue that allows him to be a tyrant is in bad faith i believe. especially because to the people he would be "ruling", he ISNT oppressive, unjust, or cruel. they are his friends and support network and critical for a lot of his personal development (since feelings of betrayal and trust issues are critical to his character and why he acts the way he does). I wish we were able to SEE this develop more, but oh well.

but like i said: tyrant is fairly specific in definition. TYRANNY, and thus TYRANNICAL are not as limited. I've discussed their definitions here. originally, i made that post because i was angry at a take i had seen that claimed that, like you said, because techno was an anarchist and not part of any government or leadership position, he couldn't be tyrannical. to which i heartily disagree.

for something to be tyrannical, they simply must have an overarching/oppressive power over someone or something. it would not be inaccurate if i were to say that something is "under the tyranny" of a concept, because what it means is that something is under the power of another thing/concept. you can frankly call anything tyranny if it is widespread/overarching and you don't like it. mask mandates? tyranny, its forcing me to act in "rigorous condition". hell, theres even such things as tyranny of the majority in which people agree too much on one thing and it gives them unfair power or tyranny of the minority where people with minority opinions have too much power (thats a very grossly oversimplified definition of both, but it covers the base idea well enough for my point)

the point im making above isnt meant to be taken as "anything can be worked to be defined as tyranny thus it is a meaningless claim", it is that tyranny (and again, thus tyrannical) are very open and nonrestrictive terms.

to make it easier to define, alongside the definitions provided i want to add an explicit clause that is (imo) implied in the original definition: tyranny is... well, bad. that is to say if someone has power over a group but literally everyone is fine with it and agrees to it, its not tyranny. thats just a group of people getting along and one happens to have power over another. a leader does NOT equal a tyrant (as discussed above), so leadership should not be equated with tyranny.

thus as an example: wilbur acting as president (before the election) may have been "unelected" with power over his citizens, but no one was upset with that power. thus, he is not a tyrant and not acting tyrannically (as well as the fact his power was, arguably, NOT rigourous or absolute but thats another topic for another time). SCHLATT however IS a tyrant, as his power was absolute (he did not consult his cabinet) and forced people to comply instead of them complying willingly, thus he was acting tyrannically.

now to finally get to the damn point of this essay: where does c!techno lie? honest answer? it depends slightly on your perspective, but it depends a LOT on the future of the syndicate.

techno is incredibly clear in his goals: no governments, no corruption. in fighting with pogtopia, he is actively working to topple a tyranny-- he isn't tyrannical for doing that.

when he strikes out on nov 16th, it is because he opposes them forming a new government. when they oppose him and disagree, he launches an attack against them. is this tyranny? maybe, but probably not. he IS trying to impose his own physical strength and power (as well as his resources) over the others to stop them from doing what HE doesn't want them to do.

however its more nuanced than that:

1. hes lashing out emotionally as well as politically. he feels betrayed by those he trusted and he believed that they would destroy the government then go (i'm ignoring any debates on if he did or did not know that they planned another government, though it is a source of debate). but typically idk about you but i dont call tyranny for someone fighting with another person.

2. he also may be acting with good intent again, in HIS EYES. if tubbo was part of manburg, whos to say he wont be just as bad? he, in his pov, is likely trying to stop another tyrant before they rise.

3. and finally, and tbh the most damning from any perspective: he gives up. he quickly leaves then RETIRES without intent to try and attack again until he is later provoked. tyranny is defined by it not just being power, but power being USED. if he doesn't use his power to try and impose any will, then he's not tyrannical.

Doomsday I am also not going to touch very in depth on for much of the same reasons. My answer is again a "maybe", depending on the weight you personally place on each issue:

1. he's lashing out as revenge for the butcher army and as revenge against tommy for "betraying" him (though this one we explicitly know he was ignoring the fact tommy did not want to go through with it, however he still did trust and respect tommy regardless so his feelings are understandable anyway)

2. he sees new lmanberg as corrupt and tyrannical (which is undeniable: house arrest for noncompliance, exile without counsel, execution without trial, etc), and thus obligated to destroy it

but also, theres the implicit understanding he's doing this to send a message: do not form a government, or else. its a display of force that also works to warn others unless they want a similar fate. phil even explicitly states that he is doing so to send that message, so one could assume techno is doing the same alongside his personal reasoning listed above.

what i just described is the use of a oppressive and harsh (physical) power in order to gain compliance from people (that compliance being 'not making a government'). does that sound familiar? exactly. it follows the definition(s) of tyranny given previously. technoblade is acting in a way that is, by very definition, tyrannical.

so the debate shifts: is he valid in doing so because he is trying to PREVENT corruption and tyranny. like i said, new lmanberg was undeniably corrupt at points. i held nothing against techno for trying to topple manburg, so does that apply to new lmanberg as well? short answer: i dont know. it depends on your specific opinion of what is acceptable. its like the paradox of tolerance: to have a truly tolerant society, you have to be intolerant of intolerance. to have a truly non-tyrannical society, do you need to have a tyranny enforcing it?

personally (and bc im a lmanberg loyalist /hj) i say it is. regardless of the corruption of new lmanberg, they are also giving a threat to EVERYONE. even those who are innocent, they are presented with the exact same threat and rule set: if you make a government, you will be destroyed.

(which, small divergence here, is part of why debating c!techno is so frustrating. so many times you end up hitting a "well it depends on your political views" situation and there ISNT a correct answer there. im here to analyze characters for fun, not debate political theory)

so: the syndicate then. this is where this debate really "took off" and i think its due to one very specific miscommunication about its goals and plans. the syndicate, upon formation, declares itself to stand against corruption and tyranny. when they are found, the syndicate would work to destroy it. so heres the golden question: what do THEY define as corruption and tyranny? if you were to go off c!techno's previous statements, seemingly "any government" is a valid answer. however, he also states he's fine with people just being in groups together hanging together.

what then DEFINES A GOVERNMENT for them? what lines do they have to sort out what does "deserve to be destroyed" and what does "deserve to exist freely"

this is a hypothetical i like to post when it comes to syndicate discourse:

i have a group of people. lets say 5 or so for example. they all live together and build together. any decisions made that would impact the entire group they make together and they must have a unanimous agreement in order to proceed, but otherwise they are free to be their own people and do their own thing. when you ask them, they tell you they are their own nation and they have a very clearly defined government: they are a direct democracy. does the syndicate have an obligation to attack?

there is absolutely no hierarchy present. there is no corruption present. but, they ARE indeed a government. is that then inherently negative? my answer is fuck no (see the whole "difference between a tyrant and a leader" thing above).

but THATS where the issue of this discourse LIES. in some people's eyes, the answer to that is YES. techno's made it clear "no government" is his personal view, but does that spread to the syndicate as a whole? do they act preemptively in case it DOES become corrupt? is it inherently corrupt because its a government, regardless of how it is ruled? the fact of the matter is because of how little we've seen the syndicate work as a SYNDICATE, we don't know that answer. so we're left to debate and speculate HOW they would act.

if the syndicate were to let that government exist, then they are not tyrannical. they are showing that they are working to stop tyranny and corruption, just like in pogtopia again.

if the syndicate were to destroy/attack that government, then they are tyrannical. simple as that. they are enforcing a rule of their own creation without any nuance or flexibility under the threat of absolute destruction.

miscommunication in debates comes, in my opinion, in the above. of course theres more points of nuance. for example:

would the syndicate allow a government like i had described with early lmanberg, where there is an established hierarchy but everyone in the country consents to said leadership? on one hand, there is no tyranny or corruption present which is what they are trying to work against. on the other hand, theres more a possibility of it occuring. perhaps they'd find a middle road between the two binary options of "leave or destroy" i am presenting, such as checking in occasionally to ensure no corruption occurs.

but if they were to destroy it without, for lack of a better word, "giving it a chance" they would be, in my opinion, tyrannical. they would be going aginst their words of opposing corruption and instead abusing their power to gain compliance.

your/others opinions may differ, again it depends on if you see it as worth it to possibly stop future tyranny or if a hierarchy is INHERENTLY a negative thing.

part of the reason so many blog gave up this debate, beyond not getting very clear answers for the syndicate, is because of the nuance present. there. is. no. right. answer. every single person will view it differently, because there is no universally agreed upon truth of right or wrong here. BUT, i hope this helps shed some light on the discussion and my thoughts on it

First impression

I was just scrolling though the TFA tags before finishing my first watch of the show (bc... I'm like that I guess. I am willing to spoil myself stuff just so I can see fanart of them before I finish the show </3) and OF COURSE I saw him.

I immediately was like "OH,, HIS DESIGN IS FUN,," and he was a lil hyped up for me based on how ppl are like "look at this lil cute boy <33!!!!!"

He's... not a "lil cute boy <33". But thank goodness he isn't bc I love him for that.

hearing his voice for the first time caught me off guard since ppl were drawing him.. In a certain way that doesn't quite indicate how much of a cringe nerd he actually is. He's just such a weirdo!! And thank god for that!! I wouldn't want him any other way, also I related heavily to his talking habits that's where the roots of kinning happened </3

What's also cool is that he is still kinda badass while still definitely being such a dweeb, like he ran across the galaxy!!! How did he do that??? Fucked up. Also despite being somewhat eccentric, he is definitely one of the most level headed characters on the show and that's just a fun concept to me :]

Idea for a story

ooogh... i got some ideas.

I love seeing stories abt him dealing with the cube trauma but sometimes I think about what if he just went over to shockwave in prison and lashes out at him but in the end it just. Doesn't make him feel better and he's like "WOW. THIS SUCKS I NEED THERAPY"

Then there's an AU I've been thinking of where Blurr joins the crew from the start bc Ultra Magnus wanted someone to keep direct tabs on Optimus for him (and also intel didn't want to deal with him anymore so they just willingly sent him away </3) then u explore how he fits into the crew now (bonus points if he actually joins illegal street racing on his own terms this time, and then bee finds out and is like "dude what the fuck". There's reasons for this of course- this didnt come outta nowhere)

Then there's all the blurrbee fics that are in my brain, but the one I find rlly fun and interesting is Blurr gets forced to have a partner bc the cube incident and of course he's like "no!! I want to avoid social interaction bc i have social anxiety problems" but he looks at the list of new elite guard members for him to mentor and he sees. Bumblebee on that list. Apparently Bee's got the chops to be a really good scout, plus his reputation as a member of Team Prime made them willing to accept him into the Elite Guard. So now Bee is mentored by Blurr and is also Blurr's emotional support bot, plus they go on fun adventures and fall in love <3 good for them

Unpopular opinion

as I've said.. blurrs not a "lil cute boy". He's not some pushover!!! he's immensely stubborn and does not let willingly let anything get in his way!! He is also super intolerant of bullshit so he's probably going to shut down any of that before it gets out of hand

also while i do rlly like the idea of longarm and Blurr being friends, I think it's rlly funny if they were bitter workplace rivals and constantly going back and forth being extremely passive aggressive while maintaining professionalism. Like how blurr was sent to earth by longarm before he was able to get his breakthrough on the Flipsides case!! I imagine that conversation being like

OK Yeah. Its Blurrbee. I'm just so in love with their dynamic in the show and also what ISNT in the show. There's actually this bit in the Allspark Almanac where Blurr talks about how he thinks of Bumblebee as slightly annoying but has his heart in the right place and??? That's so sweet?? Blurr genuinely has a good opinion of Bee from the start and respects him which is. Very different from how a lot of other bots see Bumblebee.

i was going to dump this into @time-and-space​‘s inbox, but then it spiraled out of control and became super long. so im making it into a post. heres some thinking abt doctor who/torchwood/class/merlin parallels ! (specifically abt the parallels between tenrose/janto/charlie x matteusz/merthur) (keep in mind that my knowledge on merlin is not so good) (also feel free to correct me if im wrong or add anything on) (also this contains spoilers for ... all the shows. pls watch them, theyre good)

ive been thinking about the whole theme between charlie and matteusz where theyre like ?? scared to lose each other ?? and how it totally parallels to the other things like .... we have one character whos different and immortal and alien (not to mention the trauma they've been through-), but another who is supposedly "normal" and human. so, they work with it right ?

but then theres the ever-present danger of what they have to go through daily, and the fear that its going to leave them alone. i mean, they've already been left alone, but now that they've actually fallen in love, its different. its harder now.

consider the following lines:

"i think of it every day, and the only thing that stops me is you." (class, e6) 

"i take it all back, but not him!"(torchwood, s3e4) (theres probably a better quote but no think, head empty)

"i could save everyone, but lose you." (doctor who, uhhh idk but i swear the doctor said something like it at some point, pls correct me if im wrong)

and yes, theyve felt this before, the pain of their entire race being wiped out, no one left but them, and everyone seems to leave them in the end. but for one second, they stop and actually think they have a chance for a while. someone who might stay.

ALSO it works as like .... the normal person is scared of the other, scared of what they can do and how they are ....

consider the following lines:

"im afraid of who you are, of what you're capable of, of what you will do" (class e6)

"you like to think you're a hero, but you're the biggest monster of all." (s1e4)

"what about you, doctor? what the hell are you changing into?" (doctor who, s1e6)

the person who has been through so much is capable of doing so many things, and sometimes it scares the other one. but they witnessed genocide ! and theyre probably traumatized over it ! theyve probably done some terrible shit as a result of it ! both of them are so valid in being that way.

and another parallel i have just thought of, mentioned a lot already, but the recurring theme of killing off an entire race and how that affected the alien character ....

consider the following situations:

doctor who - the time war, in which the doctor participated, and eventually ended. // when 9 was planning to kill off the last of the daleks in the parting of ways, hesitating for a bit, knowing that it would end up destroying earth in the process, making them no better than what the daleks are

torchwood - jack's planet and how it got invaded, how his parents died as a result and why his brother did everything that happened in exit wounds. // ummm i think maybe how willingly jack was able to give the girl up to the fairies to save the human race, like hes seen what the fairies are capable of, hes seen what disasters mass murder can bring. he doesnt want to see it again. 

class - well, the shadowkin invasion, both on rhodia and when it happens on earth (both times) but also the invasion with the flowers ? // how much he really wants to just kill the shadowkin like ! he even mentioned it once ("i want to murder the shadowkin. every last one ...." e6) and he just wants to do it out of revenge. but “we shouldnt avenge genocide with genocide” (we're not going to talk abt how the only thing stopping him is that he would lose matteusz in the process)

but yeah ! theyve seen first hand what it like, and when prompted to do the same thing themselves, they end up hesitating, eventually choosing the other option instead. (well... except charlie. he does it once at least.) 

and finally, immortality. this ties in a lot w my first point abt losing the other person .....

doctor who - pretty easy to think about, the doctor has had so many companions over the years, and each time they end up leaving them. even after he meets rose, who wished to stay together forever ("how long are you gonna stay with me?" "forever.") but then she ends up leaving, the doctor is left to continue on for so much longer ..

torchwood - pretty same as above, jack never commits himself to a relationship, he knows everyone will leave him anyway. but then he meets ianto jones. and it all changes, he falls in love, which he said he would never do, and thats why he doesnt ever say "i love you," because once he says it then he cant deny it any longer. once he says it than he will have to admit that ianto, someone that he does love, is lost to him.

class - ok, charlie isnt technically immortal from what i know, but i am assuming he probably has a longer lifespan than humans (basing this off this line - "you want to know who would be the last one standing out of the five of us? i would." e6) so ! its mentioned a lot (and is the main theme, as i said earlier) that matteusz and charlie dont want to lose each other. i want to specifically point out the line “every day i think, please dont go where i cant follow.” (e8) because it just so implies that charlie is different. he can go places, live longer than matteusz ever can. 

going to add this onto the end here, but i just thought that actually merlin kinda fits into this too ! 

loss - the loss of his father, of his one childhood friend (will?), the knights of the round table (pretty sure a lot of them die too, correct me if im wrong) and even arthur who leaves in the end. everyone around him just seems to leave or turn bad 

fear - we all know merlin is powerful, right ? i mean i swear it says somewhere hes like ... the greatest sorcerer to ever live or smth. and yes, arthur doesnt technically fear him, but if we think about what would have happened if merlin revealed his magic earlier, when camelot was still under the rule of uther and arthur was still scared of ppl w magic .... idk abt this one ndjnsjd it works in my head okay

trauma - had to get some help from @a-confused-contradictory-mess​ here and she brought up some good points ! when he was younger, because of his magic, he never really fit in. his mother made him hide, because she feared what would happen if he found out. (i ... think?) imagine what that does to someone, having to hide something about yourself for so long.

immortality - after everyone leaves around him, theres kinda no escape. he has to live with it for all the years that his immortal life goes by. this ties in a lot w how jack and the doctor feel, with everyone around them making them left all alone. 

tldr: losing the one person they always thought would stay, one being scared of the other's power, the trauma affecting one of them, immortality and the price that comes w it are all some really good parallels between these ships/shows and genuinely kill me inside

regulus black and kreature had just returned from the cavern with the horcrux locket. they were back, safely, in regulus' room at grimmauld place. he sauntered over to his bed and just collapsed, closing his eyes and listening to his surroundings.

he heard one of his muggle records start to play, and he knew it was kreature. it was one of his favorite songs. "tis so sweet to be remembered." he smiled to himself. he had done it. he had stolen from voldemort. he had stolen a part of the creature's soul. he looked over at the locket in his hand.

regulus pushed himself up and looked around his room for a place to hide it. he had to hide it so that no one else could find it. he had to hide it until he could figure out how to destroy the damn thing.

he looked out his window and saw an owl flying towards the window. the male opened the latch on the window, allowing the bird to fly in. it was an invitation from a friend to come over and catch up - to share how his quest had gone. he smiled, a real, genuine smile. he gave the owl a small treat and let it fly off.

"kreature," he said aloud. "keep this safe. do not let my mother find it, okay?" the house-elf nodded and disappeared with the locket.

regulus left the house, neither parent asking where he was going. he walked out the door and apparated to godric's hollow, where lily and james potter and their son lived. he was walking aimlessly through the vacant streets and closed his eyes, a smile on his face, knowing he would be seeing a dear friend soon. very quickly, the world...changed. regulus saw a flash of green coming from a house down the road. he knew what that meant. "lily-" he breathed.

he started to run. he ran, but he was too late. he saw the house and approached the door. when he found it partially open, he bit his bottom lip, anxious to see what he would find, though he was afraid he already knew. he opened the door, his wand drawn.

"lumos," he whispered, and when his wand produced light, he saw james potter's body at the base of the stairs. regulus had never been super close with james, but he knew that he was a good man. quickly making his way up the stairs, he called out to his friend.

"lily?" he went up the stairs.

"...lily?" he approached the open door, scared of what he would find. he entered the room, and tears pricked at his eyes.

"oh god...lily-" he knelt next to her, letting tears fall. he knew this was irreversible. he knew who had done this. he looked down at lily's body, and he could not help the sobs that racked his body. "lily, im so sorry..." he started, but he could not speak. that's when he heard the cries.

regulus looked up and saw one year old harry in his crib, crying. regulus knew his brother was godfather, and he also knew that he could not let anyone else tear them apart. he picked harry up out of the crib.

"i'm sorry i couldn't do more to save them..." he looked over at lily, but had to tear his gaze away before he shattered even more.

"sirius... i have to find sirius..."

regulus looked down at the child in his arms. he went down the stairs, carefully trying to not let harry fully see the entirety of what had happened. he got back down the stairs and looked down at james. "im sorry i didn't stop him..." he said softly.

once he left the house, he saw sirius sprinting this way. "reggie! what the hell happened? i got a patronus- it cut out and i- oh my fucking- oh god reggie- this was my fault! i let them choose that fucking rat!" sirius yelled.

"sirius, i swear shut the fuck up. you're drawing attention." regulus, ever the one to immediately switch behaviors in public was seething as well. he knew peter pettigrew was supposedly a death eater, but he had assumed he was part of the order as a double agent. he could have prevented it even more... "if anyone's to blame, it's me. i knew peter was at these meetings. i just...i..." regulus looked at his brother. "im sorry..."

in regulus' arms, harry began to cry again. sirius immediately looked at the child and reached over to take him from regulus, who let sirius take him.

"how did you even get here? why did you know to come now? could you have warned them, regulus?"

"sirius, i loved lily. she was one of my only friends. you think i would willingly let this happen to her?" regulus stared at his brother. "i was looking for something...and when i got home lily had sent me a letter to come join her and james to talk about it."

regulus looked at sirius. "look, brother, promise me something. promise me you won't do anything stupid. go back to that boyfriend of yours and take harry with you. i'll take care of pettigrew," he said, knowing full well what he was about to get himself into.

"don't come looking for me."

"regulus-"

"look, siri, im going to be locked up one way or another, whether it's because i have this fucking mark permanently etched into my skin or because i fucking murder pettigrew for this, understand? might as well go away for both charges, right?"

sirius hugged his brother, tightly. "reggie, always remember something. i love you, okay? you're my brother, and i love you."

regulus stepped back. "always and forever." he smirked. "see you later, loser."

that was the last time he was seen as a free man.

I hung out with him one night a few years back. He is very conscious of his reputation and goes out of his way to act gentlemanly. He’s funny and makes a lot of jokes in person. I would say more but don’t want to reveal who I am as I’m still close with some members of his team.

He made a joke about his dick size and then profusely apologized (again - super self conscious about his reputation), let us wear his sunglasses in the club, sang along loudly to his own music on the radio in the car, laughed at all our jokes too. He’s a goofball for sure. It’s funny all the guys with the worst reputations have been the nicest in person and the guys with happy-go-lucky reputations are the worst (ahem, Kid Cudi…)

It is true he was doing cocaine in front of Royalty. His friends do drugs around her but Nia didn’t file a protective order that I know of. She was blackmailing him for more money. Nia smashed most of his friend and a few other famous celebs before running off somewhere.

He is just complex asf..especially since he had another baby. Right now he refuses to hang with any other girl that isn’t Nikia.

I met Uriel when I lived in Miami…he got his friend to get my number for him at LIV. We hung out for maybe three months, and most of the time we didn’t do anything sexual honestly. He would just invite me over to watch movies or something. I think he’s really lonely. He also does a shit ton of ketamine, lean, and cocaine. This was during the time when he was dating nika…I didn’t know about her but then again he is uriel cain so I assumed he was messing around with a ton of girls. He doesn’t like using condoms…I’ll tell you that.

He has a million arcade games in his house and he has racks of clothing everywhere (in the halls, in the kitchen, in the living room) you can barely walk around. But overall he was actually…sweet. Respectful. Always made sure I was taken care of. We kind of just fell off because he’s a totally different person on drugs

his family has been trying to get Uriel some help for a long time. His issues are deeper then being immature he has SERIOUS dark issues.

i have specific details about his abuse. It wasn’t normal spankings. One instance that I this person gave me is that his stepdad took his head and slammed it into the wall. The person I knew said that he was severely abused and that his step father used to lock him in closets whenever he was upset.

He once admitted a few years back that he “lost his virginity” at 8 years old to a 14 year old girl. The fact that he willingly admitted it to the world proves that he thinks there was nothing wrong with a 14 year old sexually assaulting an 8 year old.

His stylist says he hardly eats. I think that’s bad since he does cardio and dances frequently but I’m not sure.

My friend who works for Uriel always stresses that he is by far the nicest and warm hearted people to work with. He has helped my friend with so much financially and emotionally. He’s provided opportunities to my friend when he was struggling and I know that he has helped many of his employees with financial stuff and with there kids schooling.

Ive always thought he has BPD but who knows for sure. He’s diagnosed as bipolar and has a severe case of PTSD. But maybe being bipolar mixed with the issues he has and self medicating with cocaine/crack has something to do with that. Im pretty sure he’s a pill popper (xan) too based on what this person was telling me.

Uriel never wanted to be a musician he actually wanted to play basketball professionally.

Also Uriel hit his mom as an adult not a child.

Uriel took both of those girls around his family alot. Im not sure about this since I didnt ask. Uriel’s mom loved Zhara (who did spoil his family especially the kids and his mom) and hated Avery.

Uriel can be one of the nicest and friendliest people, per everyone I’ve known that knows him (NOTE: this does not negate the facts of his abusive and poor behavior). There’s a reason he still has so many friends and supporters in the industry and in his private life; when he’s straight, he’s a pretty decent person at heart. But dealing with anybody with his kind of demons is scary and unpredictable. Some legitimate Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde shit. Untreated mental illness mixed with teenage fame, constant public criticism, some enabling in his circle, and drugs will do a hell of a number on a person.

The tea on lipstick alley may have some truth to it, Uriel entourage and even his family as a history of spilling his most inner dark secrets to TMZ, TSR, and many other gossip blogs to collect a coin. It doesn’t matter how many of his cleaners he sends in to clean up the threads/post on him it doesn’t matter. Uriel is an extremely private person for a reason, and sadly the public will never get much of a chance to see the true Uriel. His life has been nothing but a struggle since the day he was born, his problems have always been existent. Zhara WAS NEVER the cause of his problems and his family will always love her to pieces and he still loves her as a friend until this day. But I supposed Uriel was born to be just a handsome tragedy. The only reason why Uriel still as a career is because of Deleon, if it was for him Uriel’s fame would have burnt out a long time ago. Uriel blames his mom for the many issues he has now, how would you feel if your mother just stood by and watched her new husband beat on you? Yes, Uriel has a big-heart, yes he is kind and generous, but untreated mental illness mixed with teenage fame, constant criticism, along with enabling and drugs will do a toll on a person.

Leilani Uriel’s former fling did an interview with TMZ and spoke about her relationship with the singer. She said the two were very close and could have been something more if she didn’t step away from him. She said women who have petite and have more oriental features or small features seem to be more attractive to Uriel than most girls with an average body shape. Even though Uriel as fucked woman outside of his type those are the type of woman he tends to go for more. Uriel requires all of his girls not to be a homie hopper’s, have a big mouth and run to blogs, and at least spend time with him for at least 3 weeks. But for the three weeks you spend with him he will spoil you with trips and constant shopping. Uriel loves woman that have something going for themselves but still want the help of a man, Uriel likes to take care of those he’s affiliated with, so as long you don’t break the rules all will be well.

Leilani spilled the tea when it came to Winter and Uriel’s relationship and said it wasn’t what it seemed. After Winter caught Uriel in bed with another woman and attempted to fight said girl, that’s when things turned ugly. Uriel gave winter to shop with to make up for his mistake, but winter wasn’t having it and threatened to fuck Uriel’s friend Capo to make Uriel jealous. When they got back to LA a few weeks later Winter left the harem and Uriel kept a professional relationship with her just for her to come back a few days later, and then leave the harem again two days later. Uriel and Winter never had sex after the New York incident and Winter went outside of the harem to get fucked. Countless times Winter threatened to buy Uriel out of the development contract he had signed to her to, when she had the money to buy him out she did. And that pretty much ended their relationship.

Steph Talks For Way Too Long About Sollux’s Harry Potter House

I havent been able to stop thinking  or talking about this topic for like 60+ hours

first wanna say that it’s really hard to interpret how people are sorted because JK Rowling is apparently shitty at writing. So people seem to have wildly different opinions on why people are in the houses they’re in because they view the houses and their qualifications differently.

I’ve also never read a harry potter book and havent watched a movie for like 5+ years maybe so i had to talk to like 3-4 people who went though huge harry potter phases and we talked for over 3 hours cumulatively for me to make up my mind.

I think it’s really important to say that because Sollux isn’t really a main character, there’s a lot we have to make guesses on. Hussie didn’t make a big sheet full of Sollux’s Dreams and Ambitions, Morals and Beliefs, so we have to  fill in a lot of blanks on what we think those are based on a few things. Who he talks to, and associates himself with and what he does

The point being we don’t have a lot to work with.

It’s also pretty important to say that Sollux puts on a LOT of fronts and facades. He’s only truly mean and cruel to people he doesn’t like or care about Plus Karkat. He plays Fake Mean a lot, and if you dig even a centimeter under it, we see time and time again that he’s just pretending and does actually give many shits.

Sollux is also really passive in most things that he does. He doesn’t really question anyone’s authority or make a point to fight something out very often. The only time we ever see him resort to action to solve his problems are when dealing with Eridan. And even then, the first time we ever see them talk, it’s Eridan walking up to him and Feferi privately having a conversation and Sollux telling his gf to “make him go away.” And then after Eridan doesn’t go away, we see him resort to fighting. His PQ arc also has him antagonize Eridan and then drop a building on him, so like, yeah. Usually, when presented with conflict, Sollux either removes himself from the situation quickly, or if he’s unable to do so, makes it extremely clear that he doesn’t want to engage. In most cases, Sollux is by himself, sitting alone and not making attempts to talk to anyone else. It’s totally possible that he’s more social at other times and we only see him when he’s at his worst, but we dont see that so we can’t really speculate much on it. Point being, he’s very passive and self contained/oriented.

What i really want to put emphasis on is the people he associates with. His main friends we see him talk to willingly or at least show fondness for are Aradia, Feferi, Kanaya, Terezi, and Karkat. Three of these are considered main characters, or are at least given character arcs to some extent. These are the good guys. The guys who at least try to do good, and show compassion, and care about others. The characters we see him either avoid quietly, avoid loudly or vocally hate and commit violence against are the rest of the characters. Namely Vriska, Gamzee and Eridan. (im kinda gonna gloss over Vriska because his distaste/hatred/unpleasantness towards her  doesn’t have to be a moral statement on his part. It’s pretty easy to assume that anyone with his past to her would have a similar if not identical stand point) These are characters that actively do bad things, they murder and harm others at worst and are gross nasty incels at best. And even the best case in that scenario is still blabberingly racist and, treats sollux and the people he cares about like shit. Sollux doesn’t associate with people that the comic have established are villains, or at least do things that are pretty unambiguously wrong or evil.

In Sollux’s pesterquest, Kanaya tells MSPA reader than when The Thing with Aradia first happened, Sollux refused contact with Kanaya because she didn’t cut off Vriska. He was upset at her for being associated with someone who traumatized him. This is very telling of sollux’s personality and his relationship with his friends, and it’s a side we don’t see of Sollux any other time in the comic or in his PQ arc. It’s only when she tells him that she doesn’t cut Vriska off due to romantic feelings for her does Sollux change his mind. He doesn’t bring up Vriska, Aradia, his grief or his trauma at any point while at his visit with her that we see. He doesn’t appear mad or reluctant to be there, he makes jokes, smiles, and reminisces memories with her fondly, even almost sleeps over at her place for the day. It’s like he’s completely forgotten about being upset at her at all, or is at least choosing not to bring it up out of respect for her.

Again, it’s unclear how much time has passed. But when you start his arc, the reason youre talking to him is because he’s been reclusive out of grief. He hasn’t been talking to people lately and his friends are worried about him. So clearly enough time has passed for him to be okay with seeing Kanaya, as that’s his sole purpose for leaving his hive that day at all, but not enough time for him to be fully recovered.

This moment in his arc showcases his loyalty that he has for Kanaya, and possibly his other friends. He seemed quick to forgive her, or at least bury whatever resentment he may have been harboring. One may say that his cold shoulder to Kanaya would be indicative of a lack of a loyalty trait at all, that if he were loyal to her, he wouldn’t be ready to possible end his relationship with her over this. But i kind of view it as a sort of bluff? Like Kanaya essentially told him that his trauma did not at all change the way she feels about her, Kanaya still has a crush on Vriska after hearing about what she did to one of her good friends. To some, this may have been a slap to the face, an entire dismissal of his trauma in it’s entirety. But instead, he sees it as a valid reason for not cutting her off, he shrugs it off. I feel like if he were serious about not wanting to be friends with Kanaya while she was talking to someone who hurt him greatly, her crush wouldn’t have been an excuse.

I also wanna touch on his loyalty to Aradia very quickly because you dont need me to  tell you that he cares about her. Once again for like the third time, we have to make guesses on how much time has passed between events. From the time Aradia dies on Alternia, becomes a ghost with an entirely new personality, a robot with another personality, and then finally her alive Godtier self, Sollux’s feelings for her are very consistent. He seems to not really care for the ghost or robot versions of her, he even sits a chair away from her during Openbound on the meteor, and doesn’t talk to her much, is very cold towards her, and even tells her that she’s incapable of feeling when she tries to tell him goodbye when she explodes (it’s also worth noting he cries after this, which i think is the first and only time we see him do this). When Aradia comes back to the meteor, alive and herself again, Sollux immediately leaves the rest of his friends to go hang out with her. Even with Karkat begging him to stay, he just peaces out, without even really thinking about it. We have to assume that if it’s not written in the dialogue, it isn’t being said. So he doesn’t discuss wanting to leave with Aradia or with anyone else. He just decides he’s leaving, and then does. And he stays by her side for almost the rest of the time we see him. He ditches later for other reasons, but don’t worry, they’re back together by the time Collide is happening.

Point being, for the most part, he sticks by his friends unless they’re doing something he disagrees with morally. If he’s not down for what’s happening, he’s not down for sticking around. He even seems to be better friends with Nepeta now that this version of her isn’t really hanging out with Equius that much, someone Sollux would no doubt not get along with for many reasons.

Some of my friends pointed out that him sticking by his morals so strongly is something a Slytherin would do, coupled with the fact that he’s kind of a dick or something idk that much about Slytherins. But I think Huffliepuff is very much about comradery. We can tell a lot about Sollux based on who he surrounds himself with and what he does and doesn’t participate in. He doesn’t participate in trolling humans, he doesn’t participate in helping Vriska do something he doesn’t feel good about doing, he doesn’t participate in any of the relationship melodrama happening around him. But he helps his friends. He helps Kanaya open the viewfinder to see and talk to Rose, he helps Kanaya do little errands in his PQ route, he helps Terezi find out who Dave is, and he sacrifices himself to save the remainder of his group (which btw only contains the people I’ve previously stated he associates with minus feferi not that that means anything i just thought it was kind of fun to point out). I mean, he got better but its the thought that counts.

Someone could make a point that “If Sollux is so loyal, why didn’t he mourn Feferi even a little bit when he found out she was dead?” And yeah, that’s a good point to bring up, and i don’t really have anything to say about it other than….maybe he knew by this point that death doesn’t really mean anything? Maybe his euphoria of finally being lifting of the voices was happening at the same time? And also that he predicted he’d go blind like a million pages ago and now he can finally stop worrying about it? Is he happy that he’s talking to Terezi and right now that’s more important? It’s hard to tell. Sollux doesn’t really explain himself apart from “missing being her matesprite” when in Erisolsprite form talking  to Fefetasprite form. It’s hard to tell what their relationship was at the time, or what his feelings truly were immediately afterward. I kinda think it was the foremost of those explanations, he probably knew that she’d come back as a ghost, or something?

Anyway, those are all the reasons i can think of at the moment for why I think Sollux would be Hufflepuff. A lot of his personality revolves around his friends, who he considers friends and who he doesn’t consider friends. Send me asks, message me, and do that shit if you wanna talk more, but i probably won’t have a whole lot to say lmao. Or ill just restate a lot of what i said here.

Props for getting this far. For the record, if Sollux for some reason was unable to be in Hufflepuff, I’d probably put him 50/50 Ravenclaw or Slytherin. I really don’t think he’s a Gryfindor because as I understand it, that house is very much about being courageous, and standing up for yourself and i went off for way to long about how he’s a little weenie man who does nothing mostly.

Anti Steve Rogers

Before CW had come out, I was Team Cap but now im anti stove. How’d that happen??? I was watching someone’s insta story and they had very very valid anti stove points. Now I’m anti cap. Today, I tried watching TWS and all I could think abt was ‘ew, stove rogers’ and that he was good looking. Normally, I would have thought differently about him.

In AOU, Tony happily housed his friends and protected them. Steve says, as theyre making fire wood, “Sometimes my friends don’t tell me things” and that just angers me. In CW, he fuckING KNEW that Bucky killed Tony’s parents and neglected to tell him. How fUCKING HYPOcritical is that??? It just,,, its so maddening. I hate it.

That isn’t the right scene but in Civil War when they’re fighting at the HYDRA base in Siberia, Stove says, “He’s my friend” to which Tony replies, “So was I.” Emphasis on was. Steve didn’t care that Tony was grieving. Steve ( probably ) didn’t care that Tony was probably crushed more than he was by his OWN friends betraying him. It hurts me that Tony gets treated this way with blatant disrespect for others around him.

As well as in Civil War, he tries to relate to Peter, who mind you, is a kid by saying ‘oh, im from brooklyn, that makes this better’ well it doesn’t. He dropped a heavy metal airport walkway onto Peter, A KID, without regards as to if he can actually handle it.

Sorry, not right gif again ( I couldnt one where Tony was going, “Because this is us, or a squad of J-SOC guys with no compunction about being impolite” ) All he wanted to do was keep his family together. Yes, family. They WERE his family, certainly not pepper. The Avengers are or I’m sorry, were. Tony came to the airport in Leipsig to negotiate and to talk it all out.

He cares about them, about Steve, about Team Cap. After Steve got Bucky, Tony was like, “Nothing hasn’t happened that can’t be fixed.” All Tony wants is to make sure everyone is together. Tony’s heart is so fucking huge, filled with love and care. Steve was gonna sign the Accords up until Tony said Wanda was confined to what may be the nicest building in NYC, and decided she was a child ( around 25-26 years old is a child now?? ). Wanda can fend for herself so stop protecting your Nazi of a daughter ( she willingly signed up for a Nazi-lead group, HYDRA, and worked for them without caring about the hurt they did as well as herself ).

In short, Captain America doesn’t care if you’re fifteen or fifty two, he’ll hurt you. Anthony Edward Stark cares about you so much that he’ll a) stop in the middle of a life threatening battle to see if you’re okay [ referencing to when Scott almost killed Peter by smacking him into those cargo boxes at Leipsig ], b) negotiate better terms that guys trained to kill without stopping [ i assume ] that are of the nature that he saves you and you face the government or c) he’ll house you even though you’re uncomfortable to their presence ( wanda when, even though she messed with his mind to make him see his family dead, stove still let her in despite most likely knowing that ).

Stop treating Tony Stark like a shitbag when he treats everyone with care and takes the beunt of everything NOT his fault and start treating Captain America, who, as the symbol of “peace and freedom” is supposed to care, like that because he deserves it.

Edit: im gonna call ryan an abuser in this and heres why: regardless of what consent he got, as both a married man and influencer his relationships with young fans was abusive. You do not know if ryan was seeking any sort of connection as a result of anything.

You do not know if his victims felt safe with him. You do not know how willingly they continued to consent. You do not know if they felt pressured or not. You do not know if they or he did anything for any reason.

Just because YOU sought attention and love from a second person because YOUR partner couldn't provide what you needed, does not mean RYAN also felt or did that.

Just because YOU'RE boyfriend felt safe and consented does not mean those girls did.

Just because YOU think it would have been hot and YOU think you would have been 100% consenting. Does not mean those girls felt that way.

If you cannot take his victims words at face value you cant take ryans words at face value either. (And neither party has said much so your speculations are just totally biased in ryans favor.) As 3rd party viewers we cant assume the victims are lying and simultaneously that ryan is being truthful.

Im sorry but it honestly sounds like your forgetting thats ryans wife, kids and victims are also human. These past few days have been insane. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions. From shock, to heart break, to anger and then finally acceptance. I will continue to believe and say that was Ryan did was wrong. That is a fact. But I can’t condone him, and I have reasons.

Reason one: I am polyamarous. I have a husband and a boyfriend. The reason I have a boyfriend is because I felt my husband doesn’t give me enough romantic attention. So, I started seeking out someone who might be able to. Therefore, I understand where Ryan comes from. He was starved for attention and touch. I can’t blame the man for that. How he went about it was wrong, but his reasonings are understandable. Now where Ryan and I differ, my significant other knows full well about my boyfriend and my boyfriend knows about my husband. While in Ryan’s case his poor wife was left without knowing. I will never support cheating, but I can’t deny his reason for it.

Secondly: I’m going to get shot for this one. Granted I’ve already received threats like “I hope you rot with him” and etc, so it won’t be anything new. But I know that I found Ryan attractive. I would have dreams about him. So, I know that if he had approached me, I would have consented just like all these other girls who consented to him. From what I have seen that has hard evidence to back it up, the only girls that he slept with (although young) were of age. Now, if there is more information with evidence, send it to me. Don’t just say it in my comments without a link to back it up! But nevertheless, they were all consenting to him and in his mind, he was doing what he thought was pleasurable for both parties. He never meant to hurt people. But we know cheating always hurts.

I know most of you won’t agree with me. But in my mind, I cannot judge Ryan for what he did. Do I support what he did? No. I know what he did was wrong. anyway, the east, right. came out of the Collision pretty alright. some minor chaos, bunch of shit got a ll fucky, a whole big city got completely fucked, but overall pretty ok. and then it booms, completely booms, especially once connections between the human plane and elven plane are built. regions that could not previously be explored now can be, and that entire region booms. the “new” elven capital on the eastern coast is positively booming with traffic and trade with their human neighbours. everything is pretty alright.

then the Separation happens, and the planes are torn apart.

there were likely only two countries on that part of the continent - the human one, encompassing some 3/4 of the land, and the elven one in the east, encorpating the length of the eastern coast. this was fine for all involved, for the most part. minor squabbles over the extent of the elven holdings were common, but usually resolved peacefully. everyone was fine.

but with the separation, that changed. for starters, most of the prominent leaders of the human country were in the elven plane for a sort of ‘high council’ at the time, and were thus stranded. those who had stayed behind to ‘hold down the fort’ were largely unequipped or unqualified to hold total power in their absence, and the human kingdom quickly collapsed. at least one military government was established in an attempt to wrangle control out of an angry populace. the elves to the east were particularly distressed due to the loss of access to their homeland (ancestral or otherwise), and while their country did not collapse, it was rocked. their distress turned outwards, and soon they took advantage of the scattered human kingdom to conquer additional land. because, well, the elven country simply wasnt equipped to handle as many people as it now found itself having. it had been a country, yes, and had permanent residents, but they were few. it was esentially an extra-planar extension of an existing elven kingdom, and it was more of a lookout or small base than an actual Thing. but now it had to be as such. and so it rapidly expanded in an effort to occupy its restless citizens, and to gain resourcs and land for them.

a lot was happening to the human kingdom. a new one popped up in the north north-west, which protected it for a time from elven advancement. it slowly brought stability to its surrounds, though it notably did not include the military government which had been established not far south, which claimed to be the direct successor to the previous kingdom. a number of centrally located towns folded into either the military or the elves with little struggle, except when their borders collided. the northern kingdom managed to secure peace with the elves, though remained at war with the junta, who spread futher south and clashed with the elves repeatedly. 

to emphasise their legitimacy, the junta re-estbalished the monarchy and based it out of a centrally located city, though far further south than the previous capital. the monarchy was technically in control, but all knew the junta was in power. their first monarch, in fact, was a respected former military commander, to connect both sides together.

more splinters emerged. human towns which had folded into the elven country began to reach out to each other and find solidarity, and many considered exiting and forming their own nation. and they did! it was fairly short lived, being quickly subsumed into the northern kingdom, but it was, for a time, wholly independent of its surrounds.

all land was now practically claimed. control over the north-south border became fierce, with the north boasting superior unity and the south boasting a stronger military (of course!). both claimed to be the legitimate successor to the human kingdom. itsa lot of fun.

what the northern kingdom has an advantage is the peace with the elves. the two join forces to push the southerners further south, before peace is brokered between all three parties. the north and east divide the winnings accordingly, to essentially give the elves the entirety of the eastern ranges and their immediate surrounds, and all parties mostly go on their way.

peace is uneasy. individual towns and groups defect to whichever country they find the most righteous or legitimate or so forth, and their border is chaotic. many humans who find themselves under elven rule spill out of their territory in droves, and its just. a Huuuuuge fucking mess. an absolute mess.

while all this occurs, the west remains steadfast. having only sent minor representatives to the “high council”, due to their isolationism/non-interventionist stuff, and also just not giving a fuck, they were not deeply affected by the Separation from a leadership stance. they end us accepting a large amount of refugees from all sides of the conflict, much to their dismay, but they agree to look after them provided they pull their weight, which many do. in fact, theres growing feelings that the west is the strongest power in the region, and could easily claim the other side of the strait for itself. it does not do so. however, it does claim a great many islands dotted off the coast of itself and the northern and southern kingdoms. said islands were largely forgotten or ignored in the greater conflict, and many willingly + peacefully become western. this becomes an issue later, because noone decided to tell the south that this was the case. the southern govt had largely assumed the islands of the coast were still theres.

a minor war likely breaks out over ownership of the islands, to which the west quickly wins. its not really a contest. in proving the point, it clearly establishes its control of the northern islands as well, which the northern kingdom concedes without fuss.

this basically functions. the issue for me now is to tie the northern nobility back into the southern. likely what occurs is that, in ensuing decades, peace is brought between the two monarchies through strategic marriage. the junta dissolves after a while as well, after the wars stop. its not needed. it simply folds back into being the southern military, though it has a huge presence, regardless of its actual size. even though the elven military is likely far larger, it just isnt as pervasive an institution culturally.

this actually ties in well (and unintentionally, haha!) with Warzen’s backstory, and how his noble ‘father’ was going to force him into the military to ‘earn his place’ in the family. the intrinsic tie between southern nobility and the military works even better for this, since i basically imagined that warzen’s family became rich/noble through military connections and were likely involved in like..... profiteering or production or smuggling/sales or some shit, you feel me? war as business stuff. works well for the south as junta into monarchy. i dig that.

AND!! the north being allied with the elves early on (though they did likely clash a few times to start and have some disagreements over borders) also helps to explain “Noverhamptons” notable elven diaspora. theyre friends! it makes sense for elves to perhaps move to the north for some reason. the same is not largely true of the south.

whiiiiich makes the one elven noble (he married in) even BETTER for warzens backstory too, since him being an elf means hes a little bit outcast for the noble circles, leading him to bond easily with the young Warzen. oh fuck me lads its Perfect shit. ohhhhh baby. thats what i like. when the pieces align just so! <3 hell yea man

so tl;dr three countries total - west, central, east/elf. central collapses during the Separation due to lost leadership and general pandemonium. splits into two major powers - a northern kingdom likely centered around a notable aristocrat, and a southern military junta which claims the entirety of Central. the south later establishes a monarchy under an ex-leader to “increase legitimacy”. the elves expand their borders westward out of a combo Huge Distress and need for land and resources to deal with the stranded elven populace. war breaks out between all three. the elves and north make an agreement and broker peace, and they later unite to put the south in its place. uneasy peace is achieved, though the north/south border and south/east borders remain tense and have issues all the time. much of the north/south tension is resolved through a collection of strategic marriages between the two monarchies, making both sort of the same thing. sort of fixes the issue. the two become more friendly. the south remains distrustful generally of the elven east.

the west is just chilling out. takes a bunch of Central refugees and a few Easterners, and it also claims a fuck ton of islands off the coast of both north and south. partly because they can and also because theyve been ignored during the whole crisis and kinda need help. west just swoops in. easy victory. minor war with the south about it where the south just gets fucked.

the southern loss to the west is probably the final nail in the junta as the total control holders in the south, and thus it transitions into the monarchy being in the big. probably.

honestly im mostly cool if the south has an elected govt instead of a kingdom, for some variety, since the nobles can still definitely exist under it. does sort of undermine the idea of the political union via marriage, which i think works well. since the common man p much doesnt give as much of a shit, and its the upper class that cares. could easily marry lesser royalty from the north into southern noble/political families. these all work. happy to look at that in more depth later, you feel me?
