Arrow 5x17 - Pre - Feels

Note: this is a spoiler free post. Only Paleyfest and official interviews are adressed. 

Stephen Amell told us that 5x17 will be “gnarly”, probably the darkest and hardest episode he ever made for Arrow.

That’s saying something pretty alarming, as the show often went deep into darkness.

Stephen also told us Oliver would be “Resigned” after his ordeal at the hands of Prometheus.

It’s not the first time I see Oliver resigned and giving up. I saw it between Season 1 and 2 when he decided his darkness shouldn’t taint anyone else, hurt anyone else and he returned to Lian Yu,

I saw it in Season 2 when Oliver decided to surrender himself to Slade (Felicity and Diggle stoped him),

 I saw it in Season 3 when he gave up fighting Ra’s and joined LoA in a suicidal move that would end both Ra’s and himself.

Then what is new this Season? Prometheus is new. 

IMO Prometheus is The Hood; Adrian is Oliver. It’s a mirror like image.

Prometheus is The Hood if The Hood hadn’t crossed paths with Diggle and Felicity. Adrian is Oliver if he didn’t had the family and friends that cared about him and for whom he cares about.

Taking Diggle’s words GA has humanity trough his friends, trough people he cares about; Prometheus doesn’t have any humanity, that’s how he was capable to kill his wife so easily.

Talia creates monsters, IMO to her Oliver is a default product, one that came back to hurt her. Prometheus is the oposite.

In all Good vs Evil shows there is always a moment when Evil has the upper hand. It’s that time for Arrow Season 5. In the end though Good always prevails...

And that’s the EP’s part. The EP’s are doing what they rarely do, they are giving us “spoilers”, hopeful tidbits for the future (episode 5x20).

Good will prevail, Good will win.

GA will be the hero. A hero with all his darkness in the past, not limiting nor constricting his present actions and decisions.

For that Oliver needs to exorcise his demons. That’s what I think is going to happen during the rest of the Season.

However while Oliver exorcises his demons Felicity will create her own demons. Opposite paths... but that’s a all other post.

For now I can’t help but have the Arrow feels of dropping deeper and deeper into pain...

But I know light is waiting for me. Maybe it won’t be the shinning light of the Summer Sun but I will settle for the soft light on the Rising Spring Sun
