Me & You - BoruSara
Rating: T
Genre: Fluffy fluff fluff
Soundtrack: Me & You by HONNE
A/N: Designer / Model AU, takes place during Ma-Jusi, when BoruSara stay in Manila.
Beta read by: @sandpancakecat
When Boruto called her, asking her to go out because he was stressed and tired, she imagined he would be akin to a deflated balloon. Probably wrinkled work clothes with tailor’s chalk smudges on his sleeve, tousled hair and a heavy expression on his face.
She doesn’t even know why she thought that. She should have known better. This was Boruto Uzumaki. He lived to look cool. He was wearing a white, crisp button-down shirt with a little puppy print, buttons closed all the way to the top on his collar. He matched it up with khaki shorts and white sneakers. His blond hair still looked wild, but overall, he still looked fresh as a daisy. Sarada had to bite her lower lip to stop herself from grinning so wide. Boruto looked just like one of the college boys from the universities around the area.
“My muse!” He greeted her, as he approached. His eyes scanned her slowly, from head to toe. The smile on his face grew wider. “Feeling cold, or do you just like rubbing it in that you stole my jacket?”
Sarada rolled her eyes, but a light laugh escaped her lips. “This is mine now,” she leaned closer to him and remarked slyly, “I wear it better, anyway.”
Boruto threw his head back and laughed. “Between you and me? Of course, you look better. You’re the model, right? I simply make your clothes.”
The grin on her face was starting to look permanent. She loved being around Boruto, he always knew how to make her laugh and smile. He held her hand and pulled her to his side to cross the street the moment the light turned green. He started chatting about his day, how he was so pleased with the students and assistants that Inojin referred him to. “Young, local talent is the best.”
Sarada giggled. “You’re starting to look like them as well.”
Boruto grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of his neck. “Ya think so? I actually like it. It’s so simple and fresh.”
She hummed and nodded in agreement. Seeing him so happy and relaxed was starting to rub off on her, making her forget the law studies she was doing earlier at a local coffee shop. Being with Boruto was a nice change of pace.
“How did your study session go?” Boruto inquired. “Don’t tell me that barista has been flirting with you again!” She could have sworn she saw the smoke come out of his nose as his hand balled into a fist in front of his chest. His comical behavior was only intensified by the fact that he had switched between three different languages in less than five minutes. She was grateful she could understand all the ones he was saying, but the more she spent time with him, the more she caught herself adapting this habit as well.
“Fine, finally finished that book,” she sighed. “And no, he didn’t. He did give me an extra shot of espresso, though,” she teased. And it looked like it worked because Boruto pouted at her.
“Why don’t you just study at my studio? If you can see me while you study, I’m sure you’ll be more productive.”
She scoffed. “No way. More like I’ll be too distracted!”
“Yeah, I know it can’t be helped I’m too handsome.” He smirked.
“Boruto!” She shoved him a bit, and he laughed. They stopped walking and waited for the traffic enforcer to signal they could cross.
All sorts of people and dogs crossed with them. One of the things she loved about living in this city was that there was barely a pattern with the kind of people who she encountered walking the streets. Some were in suits, others in sweats, some were simply in casual clothes like she and Boruto were. It gave her a sense of normalcy, that she could just blend in with the crowd and belong. And of course, the dogs were a plus. From the tiny lap dogs who wore diapers to the giant Huskies and hairy Retrievers. They were all so cute.
After crossing the street, a tiny Shih Tzu came up to her, sniffing her ankle. She bent down and petted it, their owner smiling and indulging her. A few seconds passed and she stood up and waved at the dog and their owner goodbye.
“A little longer and I would have been jealous of a dog,” Boruto sighed.
Sarada laughed and looked at him. He really was so handsome. Thinking of seeing him work while she studied was already making her stomach knot up. “Will you stop that?”
He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close, planting a quick kiss on her temple as he declared, “Never!”
They finally reached the restaurant Boruto was raving about. He kept on going on about how one of his interns ordered food from Pound one lunchtime and he was hooked. “And it’s so cheap!” Boruto cheered, making Sarada chuckle. For someone who raked in millions, she loved that he could still appreciate a decently priced meal.
It was a little English pub style restaurant. The servers were wearing white long-sleeved shirts with suspenders and bow ties. It looked so cute. The food was also really good, and Boruto was right. It was cheap! They enjoyed their burgers and fries and Boruto kept chatting on about his new collection. Once their dessert was served and Sarada’s milkshake arrived, he took a photo of her with their sweets and posted it on Instagram. When she got the notification for the tag and checked her phone, she rolled her eyes at the cheesy caption but blushed.
“My sweet, enjoying her sweets.”
She purses her lips when she saw Inojin’s comment, “I guess this means she won’t be having you tonight. Hehehe.”
Inojin always thought he was right. But perhaps tonight, she could make him wrong.
With the bill paid, and dinner over, Boruto and Sarada headed out to walk around some more. A hobby shop was the first shop they visited. Sarada enjoyed seeing a wide array of board games, and Boruto’s eyes lit up upon reading a sign that said the staff held pottery and painting classes once a week.
“You’re not even artistic,” Sarada stuck her tongue out at him playfully, as he inquired for further details.
He placed his hand on his chest and gasped. “My assistants can understand my sketches just fine!”
“Sure,” Sarada smirked. “How they can understand your scribbles are beyond me.”
He whined and pouted like a child, clinging on to her, making her take it back. She only laughed and accepted the details for the classes written down on a piece of paper the staff handed her. She slipped it in Boruto’s breast pocket. “Here you go, you big baby. Don’t lose it.”
He smirked and placed a hand over hers, pressing it over his heart. “What? Sliding your number into my pocket already?” He leaned close to whisper in her ear,  “Sarada Uchiha, I didn’t think you would be this forward.”
For the second time that night she gently shoved him away from her, as she tried and failed to hide her red face. Boruto laughed and poked her side, teasing her all the more.
The next stop was a bookstore with four floors. Sarada loved this place and often hung around here to study at the coffee shop on the third floor. Sometimes she would just pick out a book to leaf through as well. Even if she was always here, she still excitedly looked around, searching for anything new.
Boruto hung back and watched her, a lovestruck smile on his face. He adored seeing her so excited over something she was passionate about, and books were one of them. He also looked around, scanning the titles, scouting around who the best selling authors were these days, and what topic people liked to read about based on the choices laid out. As soon as he felt bored, he decided to wrap his arms around her waist and lean his cheek on her head, breathing in scent as she scanned through a book.
“You’re being so clingy,” she muttered, not minding his affectionate gesture. When he nuzzled his cheek some more into her hair she moved her head away, attempting to shake him off. “Stop it.”
“Noooo,” he whined and nuzzled into her hair some more, messing it up.
She pretended to look annoyed, but she couldn’t fool him. He grinned at her and kissed her forehead. “Fine, fine. Be a book nerd. I’ll come back for you here in a few minutes.”
“Where are you going?”
He gave her a sly smile. “Now look who’s being clingy.”
Sarada huffed and turned away. “Fine.”
Boruto poked her side and chuckled when she squirmed at his touch. “I’ll get us something. Meet me outside when you’re done.”
After a few minutes, Sarada decided not to buy the book she was holding. Not yet at least. She wanted to finish the books she had on her temporary shelf, in her shared apartment with Boruto. The last part made her blush. She didn’t think she would be moving so fast with Boruto. They’ve only known each other for a year, gotten together for a few months, and now she was living with him in a foreign land. It wasn’t like her to do something so rash, she always calculated and played it safe. But Boruto was the exact opposite. His spontaneous and unpredictable personality excited her, and she would be lying if she said she didn’t like it. Every moment with him felt so right.
Sarada stopped when a plastic cup was held up her face. “You look like you could use a cold drink, my muse.” Boruto smiled. “You okay? Too hot?”
She cleared her throat and took the cup from him. The tropical weather was a life saver. If Boruto knew she was blushing because she was thinking about him, he would never live it down. “Yeah. Thanks. Is this milk tea?” Tentatively, she placed her lips on the straw and took a sip. Dark eyes lit up as soon as the sweet liquid hit her tongue, accompanied with chewy tapioca pearls.
Boruto grinned as he watched her expression change. “Good right? Saw the line and thought it had to be good if people were willing to wait.”
She giggled at his logic but was thankful for the drink. He lead her to one of the benches towards the other side, and music started to float towards her. There was a young man standing at the side, singing into a microphone as he strummed his guitar. He had a makeshift sign for his social media on his open guitar case, where a number of bills and coins were splayed out.
“I love this song!” Boruto chose to sit relatively close to the singer, and the amplifier wasn’t the best, but Sarada could tell he had a good voice. The songs he chose to cover accentuated the beauty of his voice.
The two of them sat down and listened to him play as they drank their milk tea. For once, Boruto wasn’t chatting away. He did hold on to her hand and kept it on his lap as they listened, and sometimes, he would sing along to certain lines in the song as he looked at her. A gesture that she found sweeter than her drink.
Sarada tightened her hold on his hand and leaned on his shoulder, closing her eyes and enjoying the cool breeze bristle through her hair. With the milk tea gone and pearls eaten, the two of them stood up and Boruto left a big tip for the young artist and took a photo of his social media pages to check out for later.
Boruto browsed his phone. “Do you think he’ll cry if I follow him and feature his stuff on Instagram?”
“Oh my god. Stop being so full of yourself!”
He laughed. “What? The last time I did that, the girl cried for days. I felt so guilty.”
Sarada rolled her eyes. “Why do I put up with you?”
“You’re stuck with me. No going back, Sarada. This is your life now.” He leaned in close to her face. “And you love it.”
Her cheeks flushed and she scowled at him. “Stop teasing me.”
Boruto wrapped his arms around her waist as they walked and he nuzzled his nose on her ear. “Never!”
.
.
.
Sarada turned on the lights in their apartment and dropped the keys on the counter. She was tired, but she had a fun time. It was a simple date, far from the lavish luxuries that she was used to in France whenever Boruto took her around. She plopped down on the couch and let out a long sigh. “I’m still so full.”
Boruto sat down next to her and placed his hand on her thigh. “Don’t want to sleep yet, then?”
She shook her head sleepily. “Don’t sleep when you’re full. Mama always told me that.”
“We can watch a movie,” he suggested. His hand moved away from her as he picked up the remote, switching the television on. “Up for something funny or sappy?” Boruto smirked to himself. “Who am I kidding, of course, you want something sap—“
He stopped rambling when Sarada pulled him towards her, crashing her lips on his. His eyes were wide, caught off guard at her sudden kiss. But he was quick to close his eyes and wrap his arms around her, pulling her onto his lap. She pulled back for air and it took everything in him not to seize her lips with his own again. Once he saw the blush on her face and the look in her eyes, he stopped. What she said next left him breathless.
“I don’t want something sappy. I want you.”
His face flushed, speechless that she would suddenly kiss him like that. She smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck, coming in for another kiss. Slowly this time. Relishing the feel of his warm soft lips on hers, and feeling his hands wander around her hips and lower back, Sarada pressed her body closer to his, allowing his body heat to seep through their clothes and onto her skin. A soft moan escaped her throat when Boruto slipped his hand under her shirt. Sarada tugged at the edge of his shirt, wanting it off but he stopped her.
“Woah there,” he planted soft kisses on her neck as he spoke. “Getting a little excited, are we?”
Sarada groaned when he pulled away to look at her face. She pouted at him, genuinely upset that he was ruining the moment. “Stop ruining it.”
He gave her a cheeky grin and in one quick motion, stood up from the couch, and carried her. She let out a small squeak and held on to his neck. “Boruto!”
“You said not to ruin it, I’m continuing it.” He walked over to their bedroom, and she tried her best to hide her red face against his neck. “You said you didn’t want to sleep yet, right?” She nodded, feeling the excitement bubble up in her chest. “We’re not sleeping tonight, my muse.”

A Lovely Night of Shadows
Day 1 Theme (a) First meeting & Theme (b) First Date
SFW (Slightly Suggestive)
Word count approx (2470)
After several months on tour across the world, Shadow can now take his 3 week leave and catch some peace and quiet from all the bloodshed and pain he had to endure during those months. As he stepped out of the drop ship several other agents that flew with him rushed out to the terminal to meet their friends and loved ones. Pharah was standing waiting patiently for her mother to come out and see her. Reinhardt tapped him asking if he may pass, of course Shadow stepped aside and let him through “Ahahaha my friends what's with all this standing around, it has been so long!” his voice echoed throughout the base. The rest soon followed leaving him and Jack to be the last two. “Where will you go for the next few weeks?” Jack asked as he was about to step off. “France. I have a favor to do for a friend. What about you sir?” he replied. “A soldier's work never ends, you should know that. I’ll probably be here on base doing paperwork… You don’t have to call me sir anymore those days are over.” Shadow shook his hand before grabbing his bags and headed for his plane. “Get some rest Will you’ve earned it.” Shadow turned but, jack was already gone. “Yes sir”  he muttered to himself. The next drop ship to France landed on the landing pad and a line of agents began forming. Shadow saw a few other agents board including a few who were on tour with him. Shadow took his seat and closed his eyes and awaited yet another flight to his destination.
The drop ship slowly descended down to the landing pad and Shadow could already see the Eiffel Tower from his window. He grabbed his bags and proceeded to the terminal to find numerous other agents wandering around. Shadow walked outside to find a sea of cars building up on the roads. He walked toward the Private Overwatch cars instead of waiting for a cab. Shadow placed his right hand on the driver window, “Access granted bienvenue en France [1] Shadow”. He loaded his bags and drove off to the private hotel.
*At the hotel*  As soon as he got there the place was lit up like Time’s Square. He parked the car and grabbed his bags to check in. “Bonjour, je voudrais une chambre.[2]” The woman behind the counter looked at him and asked “Votre nom [3]?”
“William Nightingale” as he pulled out his ID. She smiled and handed him his key “Merci et j'espère que vous apprécierez votre séjour [4]” He took the key and proceeded to his room. He opened the door and walked in and slowly shut the door behind him. The room was luxurious floor made of marble, couches made of white leather, a black glass dining table sat at the center of the room, 55 inch plasma screen TV, and full kitchen. He turned and walked to the bedroom to set down his bags and glance over at the balcony. The view was breathtaking the Eiffel tower in perfect view with the rest of the beautiful city landscape surrounding him. Shadow reaches into his bag to get a fresh set of clothes along with  silver cross and a dog tag and places them on the night stand. “Might as well take a shower before I head out” he muttered. As the steam cleared up he wipes the mirror to reveal the scar that run across his right eye on his face and begins to get dressed. A midnight blue collared shirt, silver vest, midnight blue slacks, and black oxfords. He grabs the cross and dog tag and puts them in his vest pocket before heading out back to the car. “Off to Les Valides I go” as he starts the car and dashes off.
*At the cemetery*
As shadow closes the door a sense of sadness rolls over him, his heart slowly beats as the wind slowly breezes by his face. He walks around in search of the grave for his fallen comrade. Pual de Sant 1998-2024. Shadow kneels down and pulls out the silver cross and his tag. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you. If only I was faster…” He rested his head on top of the gravestone then stood up and saluted. “Reste en paix ma vieille amie [5]” Shadow checked his watch to see time it is. “Hmm 10:00 o’clock in the evening already.” He decided to take a trip to the bar and catch a drink before heading back.
*At the bar*
E BAR, FOUR SEASONS GEORGE V a place where Shadow and his comrades shared a number of drinks together whenever they were in Paris. As Shadow walked in, he can hear the sound of voices echoing throughout the establishment the scent of fine wine and liquor engulfed the room. He found a empty bar stool and took a seat. “Oi’ William bonjuor!” Shadow looked up to see his old friend and smiled “Bonjour Noe! How have you been?” “Good business as usual. Where are the rest of the boys? Or are all them on leave elsewhere.” Shadow looked down at the bar table And pulled out a photograph of him and his squadron, “Kicks, Hunter, and Pual are dead. Jesse, and Bishop have been medically discharged. I’m all that's left.” Noe set down the glass he was cleaning and reached for the photograph, “I’m sorry Will I know how close you guys were, they were all truly the bravest men I know.” “Thanks Noe they would’ve wanted me to celebrate, to live on for them, to tell their story.” Noe pinned the photo on the wall along with several others. “So William the usual? Old fashioned? Old Overholt rye?” “That would be much appreciated thanks.” “Of course Will” he smiled and turned to mix his drink. Shadow looked down at his watch again and then looked up to find his drink right in front of him. He picked it up and took a sip of his drink and then set it down wiping his lips. “Well, Well, Well, look who do we have here?” Shadow turned to his right  to find Widowmaker sitting right next to him holding a wine glass in her hand. Her yellow cat like eyes trained on his and a smug look on her face. “If it isn’t the Shadow himself.” He looked to his left to find Sombra holding a glass of tequila with the same look. “If you do not mind I’d like to finish my drink and take this outside. You can do whatever you so please then. Widow gave a light chuckle before setting her wine glass on the table and grew closer to him. “You are afraid are you not?” Shadow took another sip of his drink and set it down “No, I’m not. I’m actually surprised Talon would send for their best assassin to kill me now while I’m on leave.” he replied. “Hm tell me, do you really think I was hired to kill you now? And if I did don’t you think you’d be dead already?” She was right if she wanted to she could’ve killed him before he even got close to the bar. Plus why would she need another agent to help her? She’s Talon’s top assassin for a reason. “Oye I still can’t get anything on him, his phone is dark, I can’t even get past the first firewall.” Sombra broke in. “That’s because I already know who you are and I rigged mine to a whole new frequency” Sombra raised an eyebrow.  “Yes and I am well aware of who you are, ma dame. Amelie Lacroix, or now known as Widowmaker. You were kidnapped by Talon brainwashed and enhanced to become their top assassin. Your first assignment was to kill your husband Gerard Lacroix from there you were sent to kill Mondatta, Ana Amari, and you, Sombra and Reaper were both sent to try and assassinate Katya Volskaya, and now I dare ask, what do you want from me?” Widow rimmed the top of her wine glass. “Hmm it seems that your superiors provide you with a heavy amount of details about me but what about her?” as she pointed to Sombra. “Hmph …. Or Sombra is it that most call you now?” just as Shadow said her actual name she eyes widened as she looked as she was about to draw her gun but, widow ordered not to. “Calmate senorita I won’t speak of it again. Now where was I? right, sombra you were an orphan in Mexico trying to live in life hacking your way up until you were picked up by the Los Muertos gang and you hacking spree went viral from Lumerico to Volskaya Industries. At some point you were picked up by Talon due to your impressive hacking skills. Unfortunately I do not recall any other information but, that’s all I need to know anyways.” Both looked at each other in astonishment. “And so I politely ask, if you are not here to kill me what are you here for?” Widow moved her right leg and rested it on Shadows stool “Well you certainly know all about us, however we can not get anything from you. Even my companion can not find anything about you and you’ve certainly piqued her interest quite a bit. So why don’t you come with us on a stroll. Paris is lovely this time of year you know?” Widow drew nearer to Shadows face.“Well ma cheri?” she gave him a wink and sat back. Shadow downed the rest of his drink. As he got up he left a few bills under his glass. Sombra hopped off her stool wondering what was going to happen. Shadow lent a hand to Widow to which she took and got off her stool. “Apres vous. [6]”
*Outside*
Well this is something Shadow didn’t see coming. He was actually having a stroll with two Talon agents. Especially the cold blooded assassin Widowmaker. “So um-” “William or Will if you want.” “Will how is it that you know my actual name?” Sombra asked. William smiled “A man can’t tell you all of his secrets.” Sombra gave him a teasing shove on his shoulder. “Sombra why don’t you ask him something else, this is your chance to actually get to know him.” Sombra sighed before asking, “Ugh fine, how did you lock your phone to how it is now?” Widow rolled her eyes in embarrassment. “What you said to ask him something else?” Shadow took out his phone “Don’t worry it’s fine. Well you see. I changed the diagnostics of my phone and any of my electronics to filter out any unknown sources hence it blacks out on you.” Sombra waved her hand at her face “Dios mio it is hard to find people who can hide like that. I like it.” “Well Ms Lacroix?” “Hmmm? Wait did you just call me-” “I don’t like to call people by their call signs unless they prefer it or just don’t want me to call them by their real name. Something wrong with that?” Widow looked away “N-No I just didn’t think I would hear that name again. So what did you do before you joined, them…?” Shadow pulls out a rifle bullet out of his pocket “I hunted a lot so much that I have trophies all over my home. Bears, Wolves, Elk, whatever was game. I just feel like my life revolves around me and a sniper rifle. It’s just a part of me now. I can’t escape it so I embrace it.” “What about your hacking and programming where did that come from?” sombra piped in, “It’s just something I taught myself. Ever since the Omnic crisis I changed my electronics to prevent hacks.” “So I heard you’ve killed many Talon agents before have you not?” He looked at his rifle round before finally replying, “Yes, yes I have. My rifle, my knives, my bare hands, even my uniform. They’re all stained with blood of the many that I’ve killed. I think about those I’ve murdered and if I have any regrets for it.” when William said that widow’s heart stopped for a brief moment. “I know you’re still thinking about him. That no matter how much brainwashing they do to you ,somewhere in the back of your mind you still care for Gerard. You can deny it all you want because of it but in the end you truly do care... I’m not going to go anymore further than that since I know if I do I’ll be dead right where I stand now.” Sombra took a few steps back in fear that he could be right. Widow stood hands on the railing with her head down and her eyes closed. A single tear shed from her right eye, slowly streaking across her blue face. Shadow reached for his handkerchief to wipe her face. “If I die now by your hands, I don’t care, all I care is that I’ve finally brought peace to you and that’s all that matters to me now.” Widow wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. Her cold blue lips locked with his warm ones, Shadow wrapped his right arm around her waist and slowly dipped her beneath the dark moonlight night, the cold breeze flowing past their faces. “You do not care if my body is cold?” Shadow smiled and swept her off the floor. “No I don’t because I want you to feel mine so I can finally bring warmth to yours...That and I’m from Alaska so I’m used to the cold” he chuckled. Shadow set widow down and she held him as tight as she could. “So um what about me?” Sombra bit her lip. Widow gave her the finger to come so she did. This whole time they were walking, Widow had led them all to the Eiffel Tower and they all embraced each other's company underneath the dark moonlight sky on one of the most romantic places on Earth.
(So yes this is quite long I know. I’m not the best writer but this is my first story drabble so feel free to give me some pointers and what not. I really would appreciate the feedback. Don't be shy! Manhattan's official King of Zoomies is waiting to astound you with impressive feats of athletic prowess and super sociability! He's gorgeous AND smart and all the ladies swoon when they see his handsome face. Say hello to the one...the only...Hercules! He's so stunningly good-looking that no photo or even video can do him justice, his all-out zoomies from one end of the yard to the other are beautiful to watch and even the leg-sliding scramble-turn at each fence line adds a certain goofy charm. Herc's very friendly and enjoys petting too, showing his appreciation with a winning smile, a wagging tail and if he's really excited, a big boy-style hug. He knows how to come, sit and wait on command and never guards his things so fetch is a breeze, though tug-o-war proves impossible as he's all too happy to give up his toys! As you'd expect from such a strapping lad, Herc pulls fairly strongly during walks but he's responsive to correction, seems house trained and greets and plays with fellow dogs politely on leash or off. Hercules is looking for an active family (no young kids, please!) to join him on his quest to live life large by spending lots of quality time together, bouncing, fetching, zooming and just enjoying each other's company. Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control,Social hyperarousal,Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition,Fearful/potential for defensive aggression Potential challenges comments:: Basic manners/poor impulse control: Hercules jumps up a lot on people in a social manner. It is recommended that default behaviors such as "Leave it", "Sit/Stay", "Down" are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended. Social hyperarousal: Hercules quickly becomes over aroused in the presence of people, jumping up and mouthing. Positive reinforcement, force-free training should be used to teach Hercules to remain calm when people and other exciting things are around. He should be reward with treats when calm. If he escalates to jumping or mouthing, people should immediately walk away from and separate themselves from Hercules. Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition: Hercules has shown some mouthiness in the care center. Little pressure is applied, but this is a behavior that should be extinguished through training alternate behaviors and lack of reward (ex. walking away whenever Hercules' teeth make contact with skin). Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: At the care center, Hercules has growled when uncomfortable. He has also hard barked at handlers. If this behavior appears in a future home, guidance from a professional trainer/behaviorist is recommended to assess behavior after decompression in a new home environment. Force-free, reward based training is advised when introducing or exposing Hercules to new and unfamiliar situations. But it's what lies beneath that makes her shine. From her calm, easy walk to her delicate way with treats, to how she sits in front of you waiting to hear what's next, Paige is a lady above all else. And oh, the conversations you'll have! Paige, with her happy grunts and snorts, her tilted head (the mark of a great listener), and her near "meows" when she's ready for another pet or treat, will be the best companion you'll ever have, and company you could possibly keep. Paige was brought to us as a stray, so much of her past is unknown. From the way she leans into hugs, we can wager she's known them before. And that she appears to be housebroken along with those great manners, it's more than likely she's known a home, now ready for another. There's soft, there's sweet, there's soulful, and then there's the wonder that's Paige. And while the best fairy tales sometimes start right in the middle, the very best have happy endings. Paige is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan ACC. Being Alone, Apparently, and Cats: Fancy A seet, family pet. broken hearted but hopeful, holds out her heart for a new family to love her. TO BE KILLED – 4/25/2019 Fancy’s parent was obviously a man of few words (or a woman of few words), and that may be fine in many areas of life. But when you are dumping your dog due to your landlord, it would be nice if you took 15 minutes to wax poetic about how wonderful your poor pup is, how loving and affectionate and shyly sweet. But apparently, Fancy’s parents were in a rush to get on with life, and now this poor girl is heartbroken and alone at the shelter, doing her best to give paw to new volunteer friends, trying to trust, trying to be hopeful, and most of all trying to be optimistic in the face of the worst life has thrown her. She is inherently shy, a girl who built her life around her family, though she looks like she could have had better care – her skin is a bit messy. Relaxed around cats, and gentle with the 3 year old child she loved, this shy wallflower only needs the safety of family life again to find her smile. If you are an experienced foster or adopter in an adult only home (kids over 13 ok), please won’t you open your home (and your heart) to this gentle, affectionate girl? If so, hurry and MESSAGE our page or email us at [email protected] for assistance fostering or adopting Fancy. OWNER SURRENDER NOTES – BASIC INFORMATION: Fancy is a black and white large mixed breed dog. She lived with 2 adults and 1 child (Age 3). Fancy is aggressive with strangers. She was reported to play gently with the other female. 4/15: Fancy was uncomfortable with handling when handlers attempted to remove her drag chain and choke collar. Her body would tense and would move away from handlers and track them with her eyes. A gate greet was initially conducted and Fancy greeted a novel male with a frozen body and stiff tail. Handlers brought a familiar female dog for Fancy to greet. She exchanged greets with the female with a softer body and handlers were able to remove the chain and successfully collar Fancy. A second gate greet was conducted with the male and the known female was removed. Fancy greeted him briefly and then ignored the male for the remainder of the session as she explored the pens. 4/16: Today, Fancy was introduced to a known female dog. She greets the other female with a soft body and explores the pens, checking in often with the other female. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: New Hope Only Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner Recommendations comments:: No children (under 13): Due to Fancy's overall level of fear and handling sensitivity, we feel she would be best set up to succeed in an adult only home at this time. Place with a New Hope partner: Although he has shown some improvement, Fancy remains highly fearful in the care center and is hesitant to interact at times. We feel she would be best set up to succeed if placed with an experienced rescue partner who can allow her to acclimate and decompress at her own pace. Force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing or exposing Fancy to new and unfamiliar situations. Potential challenges: : Handling/touch sensitivity, Fearful/potential for defensive aggression Potential challenges comments:: Handling/touch sensitivity: Fancy displayed handling sensitivity during her interactions in the care center. When pressure was applied to her collar during the handling portion of her assessment, Fancy was tense, had a low tail and lip-licked while accepting all contact. She displayed similar behavior during her medical exam as well. Please refer to the handout on Handling/touch sensitivity. Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Fancy displayed high levels of fear with the potential for defensive aggression during her admission into the care center. She was observed to escalate to charging and snapping toward staff members, as well as chewing through her rope. Although she has shown significant improvement since her intake and accepts most contact, Fancy remains overall timid and is hesitant to interact at times. She was also observed to be easily startled by sudden movements. Please refer to the handout on Fearful/potential for defensive aggression. These dogs are not displaying concerning behaviors in shelter, and the owner surrender profile (where available) is positive. Some dogs with Level 1 determinations may still have potential challenges, but these are challenges that the behavior team believe can be handled by the majority of adopters. The potential challenges could include no young children, prefers to be the only dog, no dog parks, no cats, kennel presence, basic manners, low level fear and mild anxiety. Level 2 Dogs with Level 2 determinations will be suitable for adopters with some previous dog experience. They will have displayed behavior in the shelter (or have owner reported behavior) that requires some training, or is simply not suitable for an adopter with minimal experience. Dogs with a Level 2 determination may have multiple potential challenges and these may be presenting at differing levels of intensity, so careful consideration of the behavior notes will be required for counselling. Potential challenges at Level 2 include no young children, single pet home, resource guarding, on-leash reactivity, mouthiness, fear with potential for escalation, impulse control/arousal, anxiety and separation anxiety. Level 3 Dogs with Level 3 determinations will need to go to homes with experienced adopters, and the ACC strongly suggest that the adopter have prior experience with the challenges described and/or an understanding of the challenge and how to manage it safely in a home environment. In many cases, a trainer will be needed to manage and work on the behaviors safely in a home environment. It is likely that every dog with a Level 3 determination will have a behavior modification or training plan available to them from the behavior department that will go home with the adopters and be made available to the New Hope Partners for their fosters and adopters. Some of the challenges seen at Level 3 are also seen at Level 1 and Level 2, but when seen alongside a Level 3 determination can be assumed to be more severe. The potential challenges for Level 3 determinations include adult only home (no children under the age of 13), single pet home, resource guarding, on-leash reactivity with potential for redirection, mouthiness with pressure, potential escalation to threatening behavior, impulse control, arousal, anxiety, separation anxiety, bite history (human), bite history (dog) and bite history (other). New Hope Rescue Only Dog is not publicly adoptable. Prospective fosters or adopters need to fill out applications with New Hope Partner Rescues to save this dog.

Apparently, Children, and Click: Seth "Humans my let you down, but remember baby boy, you are a King, own your crown." 53230, a 2 Yrs., 58 lbs "Please, I want to live" Brooklyn ACC TO BE KILLED 1/29/2019 "Humans may let you down, but remember baby boy, you are a King, own your crown." Sweet SETH is Rescue Only, and it appears it is because he is anxious at the shelter. This is to be expected. One day he is lost in the street with another pup, having a great adventure. The next minute he was making friends with a person who he thought would play with him, maybe give him a treat, only to be brought instead to the shelter. All the while he was with his finder he was happy, outgoing, friendly -- jumping up for a hug. Poor Seth is just a youngster, barely 2 years old if that, and he just wants the safety and love of family, his own bed, his own toys, the comfort of a routine he can count on. He’s a stunning little man, and when he is with the staff and volunteers he may be shy, UNTIL they whip out a toy! Then his face lights up. Poor Seth has probably never had anyone play with him, or give him toys. He probably hasn't had much in the way of attention, pets or hugs. He needs an experienced foster or adopter who can show him just how wonderful the love of a family can be. If you can save his life by fostering or adopting Seth, and provide him a clam, structured home where he can decompress and warm at his own pace, please hurry and do so now. MESSAGE our page or email us at [email protected] for assistance. MY VIDEO: Seth <3 https://youtu.be/wXNLzBVWXnA SETH, ID # 53230 @ 2 Yrs. Old, 58 lbs. He then sniffed the floor and tail was slightly tucked. He gave a side eye when counselor approached. Counselor was able to slowly scan, collar and photograph Seth. He pushed back when going into his carrier. SURRENDER NOTES - BASIC INFORMATION: Seth is a large, white, male dog that is possibly 3 years old. Finder noticed the dog loose on the street with another dog. Finder decided to bring Seth and the other dog to ACC. Finder stated that Seth was friendly and jumped up for attention. Seth did not attempt to bite finder. He has high energy. Finder said Seth did not appear to have any medical issues or injuries. SHELTER ASSESSMENT - Date of assessment:: 1/26/2019 Summary:: Handling Assessment Leash Walking Strength and pulling:None - loose leash Reactivity to humans: none Reactivity to dogs: none Leash walking comments: Sociability Loose in room (15-20 seconds):Moderately social – checks in with handler; solicits attention but also explores room Call over:Approaches readily Sociability comments: Handling Soft handling:Tolerates contact – not relaxed, lip licks, distracted Exuberant handling:Tolerates contact – not relaxed, lip licks, distracted Handling comments:Seth was tense and unsure with physical contact, appearing uncomfortable and conflicted. Knock: Approaches (loose) Knock Comments: Toy:Grips, firm Toy comments: becomes excited, takes toy, holds firm but remains loose. SUMMARY: Seth appears to be uncomfortable with physical contact, becoming tense and flinchy. When handler attempted to pet Seth at end of session he became nippy, nipping at her hands and head whipped. Seth appears to be uncomfortable with being touch around the top of head but sometimes will allow being pet underneath. Seth appears to be under socialized. PLAYGROUP NOTES - DOG TO DOG SUMMARIES: Seth was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around dogs is unknown. 1/24: When off leash at the Care Center, Seth is introduced to a novel female. Seth quickly greets the female with a tense face and tucked tail, and then walks away. He is uncomfortable with a prolonged greet from the female and growls at her as she becomes pushy. INTAKE BEHAVIOR - Date of intake:: 1/23/2019 Summary:: Sniffed room, tail tucked MEDICAL BEHAVIOR - Date of initial:: 1/24/2019 Summary:: Very nervousand backs away. A period of decompression is recommended to allow Seth to acclimate comfortably to his new environment; force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing Seth to new and unfamiliar situations. There are many reasons for this like a hold or an eval has not been conducted yet or the dog is rescue-only... the list goes on... Please, do share & apply to foster/adopt these pups as well until their thread is updated with their most current status. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below) Recommendations: No cats Recommend no dog parks Recommendations comments: No cats: Porsha is reported to growl and bark at smaller animals, including cats. We advise against placing Porsha in a home with smaller animals to best set her up to succeed. Recommend no dog parks: Porsha appears uncomfortable in the presence of other dogs, noted in her previous home environment and observed in the care center. At this time, we recommend Porsha not visit dog parks. Potential challenges: On-leash reactivity/barrier frustration Potential challenges comments: On leash reactivity: Though reactivity on leash has not been observed in the care center, Porsha is reported to growl and bark at smaller animals in her previous home environment. Porhsa may need positive reinforcement, reward based training to teach her to look at you rather than other dogs and novel stimuli that may startle her. We recommend a front clip harness or head halter to help manage this behavior.
