Bas was a planner—he liked neat tidy plans with no room for anything to go haywire. He chalked it up to control issues, which was something he worked on in therapy. But life did not go to plan and he needed to learn to let go a bit. "Alright. I'm down for that. Seems like a decent enough plan." His own clothing probably was not appropriate for a club—too business, not casual at all. He'd need the time to fix his hair. "No thoughts, comment free. The only question and concern I have is should we maybe do this on a different day than a random Thursday?

It wasn't something that she often did. But she couldn't just turn and leave either. "Do you need a ride home?"

another night, another moment of isla finding herself in the hustle and bustle of another crowded bar. though she stuck out among the crowd. while others were in simple ‘going out clothes’, isla showed up adorned in a silk pink cami, a matching pink plaid skirt, and a furry off-the-shoulder jacket dusted with just a bit of blush pink at the ends, complimented by a pair of rose gold hoops and a matching choker. there was nothing like feeling as if every part of her was crafted to perfection to make her world feel right. she knew she was beautiful, and she knew every detail was crafted to entice. just like a knight going into battle, this was her armor and her charms were her sword.

painted lips wrapped around the straw of her colorful cocktail as she scanned the crowd, looking for her next source of attention. a lonely figure caught her attention, sitting by themselves at the bar. perfect.

nonchalantly, she sat on the stool next to him and beckoned the bartender over, ordering another drink. steely blue eyes glanced over at the man, her wicked little smirk taking its usual place on her lips. "all alone tonight?" the purr in her voice that she was known for ever present.

She'd recognize him anywhere since she'd been observing his encounter with Isla at the New Years eve ball. Esma was just there to get some takeout, but seeing the male made her curiosity pique. "Hey," She said, approaching him. "You're Isla's friend, right? I'm Esma, I'm a really good friend of hers. She's told me a lot about you." Most of those sentences were lies, but she'd try her luck.

Kalina didn’t have the stomach for a lot of things. She was too sensitive; too emotional at times when things really got to her. It’s why she had to put her mother’s case in the back of her head for her own safety. She had to protect herself in the long term sense. Though every once in a while there was the gnawing feeling tell her she needed to go back into it. To investigate it all again cause who knows what she might find. “ it’s really all the thanks you need. You do it because it’s the right thing to do. Everyone deserves their family “ she noted with a small smile “ we can only ever do that. But if it makes a difference than it’s the right thing not matter how small”

“ it was always weird to get a missing persons case and then a UFO abduction. Very much a bit of emotional whiplash. I know there’s more information that can be gathered now but I always worry about the cases that didn’t have a lot of info. Do they just fall through the cracks? That’s what always keeps me motivated to continue. I don’t want anyone to be forgotten” @basaaragon

Bas never felt like he was particularly smart—even though he'd gone to Yale before transferring back home. He was intelligent to a degree, but he'd thought of himself as someone who worked hard. Not everything came naturally to him and he had to fight to get good grades and keep up with his peers. He tried his best to use that work ethic to do good in the world. Bas wanted to do something with his work that would help people and that's all that mattered. "Yes, that's true. That isn't what I want thankfully. Although I do think that the thank you I'll get is seeing families stay together." He couldn't imagine how bad their world was that he even had to say that sentence. "Exactly. I'm doing my best to do what I can do."

Bas nodded at her words, knowing that he felt the same way. "A few of them are decent, I guess. And the UFO episodes seem... I don't know very strange. I know the original had those too, but they were different. A lot of their shows have that sensational feeling."

"You're taking a little break, too?" Celine asked as she approached her younger brother who appeared to be sitting by himself for the moment. She was a little surprise to see him at the prom, but happy that himself to go out and have a good time with everyone else in town.

it was on brand for isla dubois to be fashionably late.

though, she had a good reason this time. scheduling anything had been a nightmare lately with her multiple projects, her birthday, and now the prom. most of her days had been a busy blur of work. and, unfortunately, the dance had fallen on the day of her twelve-hour rehearsal day. but she was not going to miss it, not when her and bas had planned to attend. so, the blonde had quickly ran home and got ready while planning on meeting him at the front doors.

every inch of her seemed to glow under the low street lights as she hurried up the stairs of aurora bay high. there was a part of her that was thankful she went to a private school during her time here, so this wouldn't be any sort of high school flashback. well, hopefully. grey eyes soon locked onto the familiar visage, the sweet smile that was soon becoming associated with him creeping up on her blushed lips.

her bejeweled hand soon slipped itself under his arm, taking her place by his side. "told you I would make it." she reassured with a bit of a teasing undertone. her tone soon shifted, however, into one of pure genuineness.

Ruby smiled a bit over to Bas as he got on his feet. Sometimes she felt bad dragging people out to skate with her when they weren’t very good at it but this felt very different. Like their energy matched one another a bit better and that was good because Ruby loved to skate. “ I’ve taken so many photos in this life and I swear everyone looks so amazing in it “ she added as she moved a bit more across the carpet “ @basaaragon

Skating was an activity that Bas loved more than he cared to admit. He was decently good at it too. Although he really didn't have time for going skating anymore, he'd been trying to make time at least once a week where he did something not work or school or stress related. "It can be so pretty and have such an upbeat vibe. But yeah, it's fun." He finished putting he skate on and stood up, slowly taking a spin as he got used to wheels for feet.

tonight was a dream for isla: a reason to pull out one of her most jaw-dropping dresses and adorn herself with diamonds and glitter, plenty of halfway-decent champagne, and hundreds of eyes admiring her followed by fawning compliments and a few flirty exchanges. she loved being a spectacle, something to be adored, almost like art. and the crowd continued to provide as she made her way through the night.

the conversation she found herself in was surface-level at best, though she didn't mind. it gave her a moment to look over the room and finally take in the crowd for herself rather than be approached by them. a few familiar faces were noted and placed in the back of her mind for later. though, when her eyes landed on one figure, a wave of delighted surprise washed over her. isla excused herself from the group continuing on in their inconsequential exchanging of words and sauntered over to him, impeccably manicured nails pushing back curls that themselves were peppered with glitter.

a light tap on bas' shoulder announced her arrival, a dubois' branded smirk resting on her perfectly plumped lips. "I'm starting to think you lied to me saying parties weren't your scene. especially considering that's the only place I ever run into you." her enticing voice was completely wrapped in jest.

"will you save me a dance? need to see how well my lessons helped."
