Why don’t distilleries release more unique expressions? What unique expression would you like to see? Smoking a Lithium by Jack Wyatt paired with the Oppidan Smoke + Sea a bourbon finished in French Oak and Islay Scotch barrels. The whiskey has definitely picked up some of the sea salt and peat flavors from the Islay barrel. .... Barrell Dovetail. There’s a ton going on here. The rum stood out the most to me by far. There’s a shredded banana peel note that I only find in rum that really stands out to me and sadly overpowered the Port and Cabernet. This is the kind of whiskey that’s always fun to try. What makes you want to try a new whiskey?
