o, for so long I have wandered: I have knocked on the doors of the Old Mothers, I have asked after you in the grass — I have traded for sea-oils, for olibanum, for the silver of clementine saps; I have rubbed the moon onto my open sores, onto the wound of my throat — like Psyche I have given chase; like Lya, bride of stars. all my life I have slept on burdock, under the tridome of barestone wayside shrines. what will I do with myself when I find you? what will I sing? o, the day draws near, my birddark: and all I am is veins, languageless, 'reft of sound. is it enough? is the hive of the heart honeyplentiful, the lily of the proffered hand? can you decipher my longing when all I am is murmured currents, serpenting the forest of enteared eyes?

A very popular way to improve a house s curb appeal is by using exterior cladding. Outside cladding with wood or other similar materials as decorative accent walls around an external building is no doubt a big trend in modern interior design but one that can really up the curb value and both curb appeal and the actual worth of one's property. In the context of a house or exterior, this is usually referred to as external decoration.
The biggest benefit of an exterior cladding system is its durability, which can last for many years before requiring repair or replacement. Since the exterior wall cladding is installed over the exterior concrete wall, the durability is especially useful for high-traffic areas such as front yards and driveways. Exterior wall cladding can also help reduce the need for replacement due to wear and tear from foot traffic. This is because wood is a fairly soft material and can be damaged quite easily by heavy foot traffic, particularly if the area is always wet or moist.
For those who are concerned about exterior cladding, there are several different styles to choose from. For example, there are vinyl exterior cladding, aluminum exterior cladding, and aluminum cladding with steel reinforcement. When deciding on the style to use, it is important to select a manufacturer that offers a solid warranty, one that will build the wall to your specific specifications, one with good after sales service, and one that offers the flexibility to add a pre-molded siding to the exterior cladding installation.
Many people prefer the clean lines and simplicity of aluminum exterior cladding. Because of the light weight of aluminum it is easy to install these panels without the help of professional contractors. Aluminum exterior cladding panels are also more weather resistant than wood panels. These clean lines and weather resistance make these exterior cladding panels perfect for both commercial and residential buildings. However, they do have the tendency to dent if too much pressure is applied to the panels or if they are forced down.
Another type of exterior cladding is made from a mixture of two different building materials, either natural stone cladding or one made of crushed stone. This material, called "barestone," has a very coarse texture and comes in an array of colors. Although this type of exterior cladding is less maintenance resistant than some types of vinyl panels, it is highly durable and extremely weather resistant. Barestone is also an ideal choice because it is extremely easy to clean and maintain.
Timber cladding materials, which is also made of timber fibers or paper, is another popular choice for exterior wall cladding materials. These materials are highly durable because of their moisture resistance. However, they can crack and break if exposed to certain conditions, such as water or wind. Timber cladding panels require a higher maintenance price because they tend to fade over time. However, the fading can be offset through timely paint applications.
Cladding made out of cotton, sisal, jute, and bamboo are attractive but less durable. However, they have a nice sheen and are easy to maintain. These materials are also very attractive, especially if the panels are painted in a neutral color. These cladding materials are a good choice for exterior wall claddings, because they are available in many different colors and shades. They are great for use in both residential and commercial applications.
When deciding on exterior wall cladding materials, it is important to choose something that will not only look good, but will last for the longest amount of time possible. Vinyl exterior cladding panels require the least amount of maintenance, but they may be the most expensive exterior cladding on the market. Wood cladding is inexpensive and has a very natural looking finish. It is also very easy to clean, although there is more care needed to prevent water damage. In addition, when choosing exterior wall cladding, it is very important to choose the right color so it blends with the existing decor and does not stand out.

House Anand
Design: Carter Williamson Architects
Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
House Anand is located on a tight site with an area of 164 sqm, this project is a two-storey alteration and addition to a Federation style semi-detached dwelling that is home to a family of four.
Since the existing home had a clustered and congested internal layout, part of the brief from our clients was to design living spaces with better amenity and connection to each other, that flowed from the front door out through to the back garden. They also required an additional bedroom for their growing family. Bringing in as much natural light as possible was also important, while also maintaining privacy. The challenge of working within heritage constraints was also presented to us.
From this brief was born House Anand, with a striking roof plane that peeks out from behind the public-facing facade of the existing home, but does not drastically alter the appearance of the fine-grain row of heritage cottages along Wells Street. When you enter you notice the space is filled with cues in the form of view-framing and details of how to circulate and use the space upon entry. To either move towards the light-filled outdoor area being framed at the end of the entry hall, or move according to the suggestion of the small folded curve in the steel wall, leading you into the living space through to the kitchen which, with its double-height void space, is conceptualised as the hearth where people can gather and interact around its sculptural island.
Deep ribbon windows beautifully illuminate this void space and black steel hoods protect it against direct summer sun while letting the warmth in during winter. The vertical rhythm of the windows and steel elements is further emphasised on the rear facade through the detailing of the CFC Barestone cladding.
The generous double-height space of the kitchen pulls natural light in from the angled clerestory windows above and invites the outdoors in when the large sliding doors are pulled away, leaving a singular steel column to denote the threshold. The result of the need for amenity was the creation of a service wall hidden behind black joinery, which then recedes into the background, allowing the life of the home to take place effortlessly.
