aa well okay truth is that i learn kpop choreography even though i'm not super into kpop anymore (never been in the fandom just like some of the music) cos they're easy to find tutorials too and its a decent bit of cardio, but i have to do it with the curtains closed. and im sure its like,,, old comments from my mum in my brain. but i know even if i look terrible when i dance it doesn't matter because i'm on my own in my room just doing it for fun and to stay a bit fitter.

My interest began after I read and watched The Hobbit. My friend and I joked about making Bard and Thranduil a couple, just to write out some pointless yaoi smut, and then we quickly realized that it was an actual thing. I have yet to share any of my personal fanfics or artwork, but I hope that I can share some of my writing with you all soon. So glad to be part of such a welcoming fandom, and it’s great knowing that we can bond over such a beautiful pairing. : )

Okay! Well! Hi, I'm Em, and I guess I'm here for the barduil fandom meetup. Like a lot of other people, i was burning in bagginshield hell and flung myself onto the barduil life raft. Though I haven't really been active in the community for quite some time, I still drop by the Ao3 community every now and then to check up in fics. Even though I'm not very involved anymore, I made some wonderful friends in the community who i love and cherish <3 (Looking at you guys, @upallnighttobedbucky @obithefabulous @gamoraaaaa @zieglider @magic-ramen ) And my favorite fics? Hi, hello! Um. I am very obviously not at all photogenic. Seriously, all the rest of you are gorgeous and um. Yeah. Anyway. I’m Manda, I’m 32, and I’m probably the most boring person on this entire planet of Earth. I’ve lived my entire life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I scrape by as a pet sitter and stable worker. As you can tell, my pets are very important to me. That’s my horse, Bara, in the first photo, and two of my many many cats, Tiger (tabby) and Luna (black) in the second.

I have been on board this ship since BoFA came out and Bard and Thranduil shared screen space for the first time. I used to pretend to be a writer (you can find my fic here or on AO3 under the name Kholran), but I’ve had a bit of a rough year, including losses of my two oldest cats, one in January and one in May, so unfortunately my creativity and desire to write have pretty much disappeared. I feel pretty terrible about that, since I wasn’t finished with anything I had started and had a lot planned out. So I do hope that I’ll eventually get my inspiration back. Because I do still really love this ship and all the awesome people on it.

And there are a lot of you. So much talent here, in both writing and art, that I don’t even know where to start with favourites. All of you. All of you are my favourites. Every single person that has ever written or drawn for this ship is awesome and my favourite. And in addition to being super boring, I’m also the most socially awkward potato in the world, but but all of you are more than welcome to come and chat with me about anything, at any time. Tell me about your day or your pets or the episode of that show you just watched that you really need to talk about with someone. this fandom is so eloquent and then there’s me who couldn’t manage a proper about me page since i made an account :’D anyhow onto the point i’m bangnine, an eastern european twenty-something illustration student currently living in the uk.

tolkien had been part of my life pretty much since i was 5, but i only discovered this ship after watching botfa. ever since i had a soft spot for it not in small part because of the amazing fandom (so much great art, fic and edits, and so little drama:). lately i haven’t been very active due to some real life issues, and my current main obsession, black sails, but when i am, i draw fanart (and when i don’t, i procrastinate on my sideblog come talk to me).

Apparently today is the barduil fandom meet up that I totally didn’t forget about. Anyway, my name is Mariah. I’m an ER tech (literally the only difference between me and a nurse is that I can’t give medications) and I generally work the midnight shift. Overwatch has taken over my life at the moment, but I’m still a hardcore barduil shipper. I’ve only posted one fic because I’m scared af to post more. I’m fighting for my life to get into medical school and my end goal is to be a cardiologist on call for an ER in order to take patients who are actively having a heart attack into cath lab. I play D&D with some of the coolest people & I’m a thrill seeker; I will go on just about any roller coaster & do almost anything that sounds insane. I’m from Michigan just 30 mins west of Detroit in a city called Garden City, and I travel the States and even into Canada to go to various cons. I’m 23. My favorite band is Motley Crue. I’ve met them twice & went to every single concert they’ve had in the Detroit area since I was 14 (front and center almost every single time) and I’m still sad they’re no longer touring. Hello! I was a little nervous to come and say hello at the Barduil Fandom Meetup but everyone seems so friendly, so hi - it’s nice to meet you all :)

I’m Rebecca, I’m 25 and from the UK. I’m an SEO so I spend my days fiddling with websites and making online content. I adore cats, dogs and basically all animals (I’m that person that has to stop in the street to pet every cat I see) and I recently adopted a kitten called Bastian who is the most wonderful little ball of chaos!

I’m a big fan of lots of different books, shows etc. and I’m currently a bit obsessed with Black Sails, GoT, Dragon Age (a.k.a the game series that has taken over my life), Sherlock, The Maze Runner and of course LotR & The Hobbit :D

I’ve always been a huge fan of The Hobbit (and Lee Pace - because Ned the Piemaker!) and like many people I became a Barduil shipper after the botfa tent scene. I then discovered all the amazing art, fics, gifs and other things the incredibly talented folks of this fandom create and my love of these adorable hot dads just grew from there.

I have not contributed enough to this lovely little fandom to really justify myself, but I’m here anyway Woo barduil fandom meetup! It’s so nice to see so many lovely faces today, and to meet more of you! I’m northerntrash here and on ao3, and I’m the one who writes anything-other-than-middle-earth-aus and makes sub-par edits. I’m from Britain, am doing a PhD in ancient Greek history, and spend my free time writing historical and mythological AUs and some original fiction. 

I’ve been into Tolkien’s world for decades, and I started low-key shipping these loser dads after a combination of BOTFA and @barduil ‘s influence. I love this little fandom for its chill factor and the fact that people just seem to have fun in this tag. Also, let’s all cheer for @barduil for continuing to organise so much for us <3

It’s the Barduil Fandom Meet-up today and I’m excited! I don’t take any good selfies whatsoever, nor do I keep them to post, so this is all I have to offer.

Anyway, I’m Max. I’m a pink-haired, plant-loving twenty-one year-old from Melbourne, Australia (I don’t know of any other aussies in this fandom, but you should totally speak up if you’re out there!). Some of you might remember me as queerteddy from back in the day, or else know me as oliverdalstonbrowning on ao3, where I created the whole Phosphenes Fiasco.

I started shipping barduil after I saw botfa for the second time and I’ve never left the trash can since. I’ve made so many wonderful friends thanks to this fandom, one of whom is now a best friend in real life. I would never have met @gayyholtzmann if it wasn’t for barduil and, even though she left us, I still love her. I also never would have achieved a 300-and-counting snapstreak with @barduil if we weren’t both each other’s most loyal enablers. There are some fics that just wouldn’t have made it without Bea’s constant stream of encouragement, and for that I will always be grateful.

My favourite fics are Between the Pines by @northerntrash and Somewhere Only We Know by @barduil

okay well, today is the Barduil Fandom Meetup, so let’s do this again!

Some of you might know me from back when I had a barduil blog called breathingbarduil, then acebarduil! but I’m going to introduce myself a little anyway :3

My name’s Bérénice, and I was born on November 9th in Brussels, where I still live! I’m studying French and English language and literature this year. I have a younger sister named Eléonore who has to endure my obsession with Barduil, and three cats–Eliott, Liam and Gabriel (there are some pics of them on my Instagram). Ah and I love baking, and (cosplaying) Bard!!

I’m also a fic writer, and I’m working on an original story as well. You can find me on AO3 as bereniceofdale, but I used to be breathingbarduil there, too. I’d be forever grateful if you could check out my stories, particularly Somewhere Only We Know! :D I’ve organized a few events for the ship (check out the Barduil Secret Santa, sign-ups are still open!) and contributed in other ways than writing but I’m just gonna share my stupid barduil powerpoint with you all!

Barduil is my very first OTP and I fell into it quite early (I fully accepted my fate on December 29, 2014, and created my Barduil blog a few days later) and, almost two years, 250k of fanfiction and a tattoo later, I’m still there and not planning on going anywhere. This is such a lovely fandom full of even lovelier people!

I’ve made amazing friends (who have to deal with neverending snaps of my cats, but I’m not really sorry. for those who don’t have me on snapchat, I’m terrible at keeping in touch but I think of you I swear ;v;), met amazing fellow shippers and started writing thanks to this ship, and I’m very, very thankful for all that. <3
